Chapter 3: The Uchiha Secret

There was not much that happened after graduation. After Naruto, Ryoko, and Sasuke all went out to eat after as a celebration, Naruto continued to train constantly while also making sure he made enough time to be with his sister but with Beacon coming closer, he decided to spend more and more time with her. Ryoko noticed this but never spoke on it, as she loved being with her brother.

For Sasuke it was a little different. He was training and quite often as well but he also took a trip to see his brother at his brother's own request. At Atlus, he was accommodated for when it came to his room and transportation, which he appreciated but didn't care for. As Sasuke walked through the building that his brother was working at, he stopped at the receptionist desk. It seemed the Atlus military was rather busy at this time, if he was to judge it by the amount of people walking around.

"Hello, how can I help you?"

Sasuke turned to the brunette lady, "I am here on an appointment with Itachi Uchiha. I was told he was working on an investigation for Atlus here."

"Oh and who might I be speaking to?"

"His brother, Sasuke Uchiha." Sasuke showed his Vale ID which made the women's eyes widen.

"Itachi has been expecting you, I'll take you straight to him now." Sasuke nodded to her and followed.

After a bit of walking, they stood at a door as she opened it to reveal his brother in great thought looking at some notes that were on the table. "Itachi, sir. Sasuke Uchiha is here to see you." Itachi looked up to see his brother, which allowed Sasuke to get a good look at him.

The elder Uchiha brother had black onyx eyes and hair with bangs shaping his face and it being in a short ponytail that went to his upper back. His attire was casual, especially for Atlus. He wore a black jacket which had the left sleeve being long which went past his hand while the right only went to the middle of his forearm. Underneath was a black shirt with the signature crest of his family along with a red long scarf that could be used as a hood with the long end that flowed to his back and the short end located towards his chest. He wore black pants and black and red high shoes.

"Ah Sasuke. It's good to see you. I was just going to go on lunch, care to join me?

The younger brother nodded as they left to a restaurant that Itachi fancied while he was at Atlus.

They went into a little shop where they sold dango, and old mistralian delicacy that Itachi loved so much. Meanwhile Sasuke had some water along with a small salad with tomatoes in them. "So you enjoy this place and this is where you eat the majority of the time?"

Sasuke looked around and it was a cafe, where the vibe was very homey and had an ancient feel to it but it was relaxing.

"Yes actually. It is quite nice don't you think?"

Sasuke nodded, "I agree."

"So first things first, congratulations on graduating, and moving on to the next step to becoming a Huntsman."

"We both knew that Naruto and I was going to easily pass that exam. To me it was just an act of formality." Sasuke then took a bite out of his small salad.

Itachi nodded, taking a bite from his snack, continuing after he swallowed it, "On the topic of Naruto, how is he and Ryoko doing?"

Sasuke sighed, "Same old, same old. He is also preparing for Beacon."

Itachi knew that Beacon was going to be their next destination for schooling and also knew of the meeting between them and Ozpin. "I see, that is good and bad." Itachi had a somber look on his face before he looked at his brother, "But anyway let's get down to the reason why you are here today. It is time that you understood something."

"Is it about father? And what happened that night?"

"Yes and no," Sasuke looked at his brother in confusion. "What I am about to tell plays a part in everything but it is not the main reason, more of a by-product and it's also a warning to you."

"A warning?"

Itachi nodded, as his eyes shifted from black to red. The signature semblance of their family. The Sharingan. "It is the secret to the Sharingan." Sasuke with his interest peaked, finished his food and sat there looking at his brother's eyes.

His eyes were now scarlet red, with black commas called tomoes that circled around the pupil. There were three of them in the iris which meant in their family that their semblance had fully matured either battle or practice.

Sasuke activated his Sharingan as well, as he showed that he also had three tomoes as well in his eyes. "So what is this secret and what do you mean by warning?"

"So Sasuke, tell me what you know about the Sharingan."

"Well the Sharingan is a family semblance only attainable by our family. Like the Schnee's, it is a semblance passed down from generation to generation. It is a powerful semblance that gives you many benefits, like for example slight precognition, the ability to see aura, and the ability to dissect another aura based ability whether that be semblance or aura based attacks. Also the Sharingan allows you to manipulate dust with your aura but you can only have at max two or strengthen one to the utmost level. Your element that you chose to attune with is fire. While I have fire and lightning. It is one of the most versatile semblances to be recorded right next to the Schnee family semblance."

Itachi nodded, "Yes but what if I told you that our semblance, while versatile, is the darkest and most dangerous." Sasuke looked at him in confusion and motioned for his brother to continue. His brother closed his eyes and with a slight burst of aura, he opened his eyes to see that his eyes changed again. Still red, the eyes tomoes have now blended together creating a three pronged pinwheel that looked similar to a shuriken. Sasuke's expression changed from curiosity to shock. "What the hell?"

"This is the Mangekyou Sharingan, the next evolution of our semblance. It increases the abilities of the Sharingan to an unbelievable amount. But that is not all, it also gives the user their own specific abilities. Two abilities that are specific to them, one in the right eye and the other in the left. Let me show you." The pinwheel in Itachi's eyes began to slightly spin as to Sasuke, time had stopped, everyone was frozen while the world appeared to be gray.

"What is going on?"

"We are in a separate time and reality that I have created. Here I am God and I can choose to do whatever I wish. Here time can be slowed to a crawl or speed up fast, whichever I choose. In the real world we are still sitting here and only one tenth of a second has passed. This ability is called Tsukiyomi."

The world around Sasuke turned to normal, as he looked around, "That is amazing." He then turned to his brother to see him holding his left eye and panting slightly. "Itachi?"

"Sorry, just give me a moment." Itachi recovered rather quickly and let go of his eye but Sasuke could see some blood stains near his eye. "As you can see it grants unbelievable power. The other ability that I possess is called Amaterasu. The ability to conjure up black flames from my right eye to burn anything to ashes."

Sasuke truly never realized how strong his brother truly was until just now. 'He's had these abilities for who knows how long. He can genuinely beat anyone if he wanted.'

But then Sasuke remembered something, "Wait but you told this as a warning to me. What is the warning? What's the drawbacks?"

Itachi smiled, "Very smart of you, Sasuke." Itachi then grimmed, "The first drawback for such a power is that the more you use it, the more you begin to go blind."

Sasuke's eyes widened in disbelief, "What? Then that means…"

Itachi nodded with a sober smile, "Everytime I use the Sharingan I can see but I am already partially blind. If I give a percentage, 50% of my vision is gone."

Sasuke couldn't believe it but it makes sense. Itachi has always taught him that no matter how powerful someone is there is always a weakness and limit to that power. No matter what. Sasuke gulped, "And the other?"

Itachi again smiled somberly, "The other is how you achieve the Mangekyou as you have to witness the death of your best friend or a person you love."

Again Sasuke was floored, as the price for such power was great. Too great even, as he began thinking about the people he cared about, his brother, Naruto, and Ryoko. They were all important to him. "Then that means that you…"

Itachi nodded but didn't say anything but that was all the confirmation that Sasuke needed. "This power was something I attained before I killed our father, which was how I was able to match him as he also had this power. But be careful if the unfortunate day comes to where you unlock this power as well, be wary of its allure. As the power will feel amazing as our eyes run on hatred. The more hate you feel, the more powerful they become. You will start to crave it and want only power. This is why I called you here. You will be going to Beacon soon, you will make connections with people and if an unfortunate incident were to happen to someone and you awaken to this power, do not give in to its lullaby as father had. This is the curse of our family. A curse of hatred. So thus I leave this conversation with one warning. Us a family, as a clan. We have the unfortunate circumstance of loving so much that it could cause us pain. So when you inevitably find someone that you truly love with your heart and soul. Just protect them as best as you can. "

Sasuke took in all of this information and made the decision to not go for the power of the Mangekyou. It was a great power but one that came with too many drawbacks. He would get stronger his own way with it. He would become strong without it. Sasuke nodded to his brother and they continued to enjoy their lunch.

Sasuke had just left the airport for Vale. After his conversation with his brother, he decided to leave the next day to get home and prepare for Beacon. But before he could go home he heard an explosion. He looked to the sky to see the location where it was coming from seeing the smoke that was in the air because of it. 'I just got back and things are already going off.' Sasuke sighed and left for the location.

After speeding through the streets he arrived at the scene pretty quickly. It was at a dust shop with one of the front windows broken and multiple men on the ground. Sasuke turned to the old man that was outside, "What happened here?"

The old man just pointed to a ceiling, which Sasuke nodded and decided to follow. Once he arrived he found a black haired girl with red tips and a red cape holding a scythe against a man in a Bullhead with a black hat and white suit.

"End of the line Red!" The man threw a red dust crystal at her. Sasuke deduced that it was fire dust and thought quickly to intercept it. He grabbed the handle of his weapon, a Chokuto, and quickly pulled it out of its scabbard. The weapon was similar to a standard Chokuto with a white wooden handle with a black strip going down the middle with his family's emblem in the middle. Sasuke activated his aura into the sword and lightning erupted from it. He slashed at the space towards the crystal and an arc of lightning flew towards the crystal destroying it in an explosion before it could get to the red haired girl.

"What the hell?"

The man was confused at this turn of events but when the smoke cleared he saw a newcomer standing in front of the girl in red.

"Sasuke?"

Sasuke turned back and saw the girl that they (Naruto, Ryoko, and him) ate ramen with a few months back. "Ah hello Ruby, let's talk after this okay." She nodded.

"And who might you be?" The man asked.

Sasuke squinted his eyes and responded to him. But it wasn't the response that the criminal was expecting. As Sasuke's sword sparked to life as he swung it as if it was lazy and drugged it on the ground. He swiped upward and multiple lightning strikes came from the sword straight to the bullhead.

The bullhead took some damage but nothing of note but the man did retreat inside of the aircraft as another attack, this time purple, came from behind Sasuke and Ruby. The energy flew above the aircraft then expanded into a magic circle forming a storm cloud above the ship. From it ice began to haul down on the ship. "It is welcomed to see you here Sasuke Uchiha," a blond haired lady with a white dress shirt with a window at her chest, along with a black corset to dress and black heels, stepped forward from behind them, "But please refrain from getting into trouble before you have passed initiation please."

Sasuke shrugged, "I had just gotten back from Atlus, couldn't be helped. But this shouldn't be much trouble. Right, professor Glynda?" The women nodded as they turned their attention to the new enemy who emerged. Sasuke couldn't get a good look at her so he was about to use his Sharingan but before he could the newcomer shot balls of fire at them making Sasuke dodge away and Glynda to block it. To Sasuke something was slightly off as some of the embers on the ground lit up and erupted forcing them to dodge once again.

Professor Glynda, using the debris from the blast, created a spear which she threw at the enemy. The ship then maneuvered downward making the spear slide off the top of the ship and hid the fire wielder from sight. Glynda didn't mind this as much but Sasuke was starting to get annoyed as he tried to get a good look at their assailant. Glynda then split the spear into three parts and launched them at the aircraft trying to skewer it. But after a blast of fire it disintegrates them.

Ruby tried to help by shooting at her but she blocked them with her palm. Sasuke used his sharingan to try to get a signature but stopped when he saw energy building up below them. Thinking fast Sasuke grabbed Ruby and jumped away as an explosion rocked where they were standing previously. Before he could continue they left, "Did you get a signature of their aura?"

Sasuke shook his head at his professor-to-be. "No it seemed as though they were trying to avoid my gaze so I wasn't able to get any signatures."

Glynda sighed, "That's fine. Anyway I need the both of you at the station for your testimonies."

"So you're a huntsman, correct?" Ruby asked, getting a nod from Glynda, "Well um… can I have your autograph?"

This made Glynda pause and an angry tic appeared on her head which amused Sasuke as he walked past Glynda, "She has a good heart. Don't be too mean to her," Sasuke half joked which ended up upsetting her slightly more but decided to reign in her emotion and start walking.

Sorry for extremely long wait for an update my apologies. I am still alive and still writing when i can but I won't lie to you when I say that I can confidently say that I will update more frequently as life is a thing that happens but here is a chapter of me just setting the ground work of how the sharingan will work. obviously I had to take away the aspect of coping jutsu and substitute it for somethinf else or else it would be more broken in the RWBY world than it is (even in Naruto that sh*t is broken to but whatever).
