Theren's POV, The Fortress Dining Room
It was early dawn and the first rays of sunlight were filtering through the window illuminating the room and the beautifully crafted dining table with an assortment of breakfast foods in it. I sat at the head of the table enjoying a small mountain of pancakes as I glanced across the dining room at my guests.
At the opposite end of the table sat the three elven women I'd freed the day before. They were eagerly digging into the food provided eyes filled with delight smiling all the while. Following their example I dug into my food as well savoring the taste of the sweet pancakes and syrup.
Several minutes went by like this I patted my stomach bloated with my breakfast resisting the urge to belch in front of my guests I stood up from the table stretching my arms high above my head as I turned to address my guests "So I promised to take you three home so where would you like me to take you".
The three elven women stood up from the table carefully pushing their chairs in as the various plates and and utensils floated out the door courtesy of the invisible servants taking them to be cleaned.
Jelenneth the blonde-haired one of the trio stood with a look of thoughtfulness on her face hand on her chin eyes narrowed in thought after a few moments of this she spoke looking to Althaea the red-headed one to her right "Well my village doesn't exist anymore but correct me if I'm wrong your village is at least a weeks ride from the border right".
Althaea eyes lit up in excitement at being reminded of her home she spoke with happiness in her voice "That's right and it's relatively well hidden so it should be safe there".
"Sounds good to me" a chiper-sounding Birel chimed in smiling.
Seeing them come to a conclusion on their destination I reached deep within myself reaching for the well of magic that now lived in my veins I felt electric as I called forth the spell "Extend Disguise Self".
At that the light around me began to distort like a mirage as my appearance shifted I shrank a few inches and my slim athletic build filled out a bit as if I gained at least twenty pounds not fat necessarily but not as slim as before my hair turn from silver to blonde and my eyes change from violet to emerald green. My facial features morphed such that it looked completely different. I now looked like a completely different person.
"So how do I look" I asked as I looked at three elven women before me.
"Different why the sudden change in appearance if I may ask" Althaea asked eyebrow raised.
"Well for political reasons I would prefer to keep my identity a secret so while we're there I'd prefer if you called me Erevan," I said the name bring back memories of my father back on Evermeet.
"If that's what you wish then alright," Althaea said giving a slight nod of her head.
"Very well then I'll take us there, Teleport," with that I and my three guests disappeared in a flash of light.
The Fortress Courtyard
The sun was just cresting over the horizon and a small smattering of clouds was overhead looming over the courtyard in the center of it was a group of about four dragons angelic knights riding upon their backs the sunlight reflecting off the dragon's scales like a treasure chest. Three of these dragon-riding celestials stood in a line facing the fourth.
Genevive stood atop her dragon companion, voice loud as she spoke to the others "Sisters here me our master has commanded us to lay waste to this enemy fortress and its protectors, I will not lie to you it will be dangerous some of us may die. More than that you will be expected to kill any you come across to show no mercy to the enemy and expect none in return if any feel they can't bring themselves to carry out such a deed speak now,".
The Celestial to the Left spoke up with uncertainty in her voice "Do we truly need to kill them all".
"I understand and share your feelings on this matter but you must understand those men will not hesitate to cut you down if you hesitate and even if we could spare them those men are soldiers if we let them live we will need to fight them again latter we were charge by our master with protecting his lands and the people within them and these men by attacking Re: Estize means they intend harm to this land and its people so we are duty bound to destroy them. Do you understand?"
The Celestial nodded a solemn expression of grim resignation on her face. Seeing this Genevive spoke the password and the Glyph of Warding at the center of the courtyard began to glow as it activated and those present vanished in a flash of light.
Falconreach Castle Unknow POV
It was early morning at Falconreach the sun had just crested over the horizon I huffed with exertion as I and my brothers in arms did laps around the castle courtyard my commanding officer standing off to the side barking orders. Sweat dripped down my brow as I ran turning to the man to my left. "So now when we're supposed to be moving out they've had us doing these damn drills for weeks down almost wish the war would just start already".
The other soldier grinned in response and replied with a laugh "Yeah those chumps from Re-Estize don't stand a chance I almost feel bad for'em bunch dumb dirt farmers got no business playing soldier".
"If you've got the energy to chat then you've got the energy to run now hop to it" a nearby officer barked overhearing them.
Grimicing I began to pick up the pace when I heard the deep rumbling roar of dragons. Stopping dead in my tracks I looked up and saw in the sky right over the castle three large silvery dragons the early morning sun reflecting off their scales.
Then I saw them beautiful winged women riding upon their backs one of them raised her hands and spoke but a single word "Attack" and the dragons opened their mouths and a hurricane of frigid wind came out at once I felt like a thousand knives were stabbing me all over my body like I'd been tossed into an icy lake. I felt my body turning rigid as I collapsed a sharp sound like shattering glass was heard as I hit the ground and I knew no more.
Falconreach Castle Neutral POV
The dragon's attack came to an end and with it the horrid screams as the icy mist cleared Genevieve looked on grimly at the sight of hundreds of icy statues many shattered like glass, in an instant hundreds of men had when killed by the attack Genevieve felt a deep pain in their chest at the sight. She heard the deep rumbling voice of her companion as she came in for a landing "Not a pretty sight I know but keep it together remember these men are the enemy" Orn called out eyeing his rider in concern.
"I know thanks Orn" Genevieve said patting the side of Orn's head after dismounting.
Turning to face her sisters Genevieve called out in a commanding tone sword held high above her head glowing with an intense white light "Dragons remain in the courtyard and kill any soldier that tries to escape the rest of you follow me".
After that Genevieve and the others charged into the fortress proper the gray stone walls of the castle surrounding them. Spotting a hallway head she saw a group of six soldiers peering around the corner "TAKE COVER" she cried shielding herself with her wings.
A volley of arrows came down the hall one bounced off her armor the other slipped past her guard hitting her in one of the gaps in her breast plate biting deep into her flesh a trickle of crimson flowing down her chest. Reaching up and firmly grasping the arrow she ripping the arrow out of her chest teeth gritted as she ignored the pain.
With a furious shout, she and her sisters charged she plunged her glowing long sword into her enemy's chest straight through his armor white light shined out of the man's eyes and mouth before the soldier sild off her blade eyes blood pouring from his chest burnt hole where his eye once were.
She brought up her sword to parry an attack before cutting down another of her foes. Seeing the current threat eliminated she turned to her two sisters "I shall seek out the fort commander you two sweep the barracks and other rooms for any remaining enemies there are to be no survivors" coldness in her voice.
Great Forest of Evasha, Therens POV
In a flash of light I and the others appeared as the light of my spell faded I saw a sight that reminded me of my home we were in a forest surrounded by great trees like enormous towers looming over us. Looking close I saw these trees were covered in doors and windows connected by wooden brides. The wooden bridge we stood on swayed gently in the air from alight breeze I smiled at the familiar sight of an entire village built among the treetops. I marveled at the sight and my heart ached for home, my mind filled with foreign memories of Faerun of similar villages and towns on Evermeet.
It seemed like our spontaneous appearance had drawn the villager's attention. Many elves came out of their homes to see the sight a mixture of fear and confusion expressions on their faces. I saw a large number of elven men surround us on both ends of the bridge clad in leather armor and wielding bows, arrows drawn. One of them slowly approached apprehension clear on his face tall and broad, with a beautifully crafted longsword in his hands. Long blonde hair and forest green eyes narrow in suspicion of us. "Who are you outsiders why have come here" he demanded.
I heard his gruff voice I was surprised to hear him speak in common having expected Elvish(Damn what was I thinking these people are at war of course they'd be fearful of outsiders how to prove I pose no threat) I thought mind racing.
Then it hit me(he spoke to me in common he must think we're… oh a misunderstanding) I thought the realization hitting me.
Slowly I reached up to pull down my hood revealing my long pointed ears and replied in elvish "My name is Erevan I simply came to return your stolen kin".
At the sight of my ears and the sound of the elvish tongue, the villagers visibly relaxed fear vanishing from their eyes to be replace my confusion and joy. The man before me's expression softened his grip relaxing "What do you mean" he asked in elvish.
As if to answer too his question Althaea the redhead came out from behind my back an expression of pure happiness tears welling up in her eyes as she spoke her voice full of raw emotion "Father".
The man's eyes went wide in shock his sword falling from his hands clattering to the ground as he rushed forward wrapping his daughter in a hug with tears in his eyes "Althaea I thought I'd never see you again".
At that, the eyes of the villagers were filled with delight, and chattering filled the air.
"Althaea's back"
"What I thought she'd been captured by humans"
"I can't believe it"
At this point, all the men had put away their weapons and the village was all smiles. Althaea's father smiled at me "You have returned my daughter to me for that you have my thanks you and the others are welcome in this village my name is Kahvoerm chief of this village".
I smiled at the heartwarming sight of father and daughter reunited "If you'd please we have much to talk about".
Kahvoerm's eyes widened slightly in recondition as he answered "Oh yes forgive me my home is this way we will talk further inside".
Inside Kahvoerm's Home
I felt the warmth of a fire and heard the sounds of its crackle as I and the others warmed ourselves around the fireplace. Kahvoerm's home was a large carved-out cavity in one of the trees made via magic to avoid harming the plant. Everything from the floors to the walls was wood even the steps to the next floor were carved out of the wood being a living part of the tree. Animal hides and pelts covered the floor including a particularly warm bear skin pelt I was sitting on. There were also stuffed heads of various beasts adoring the walls trophies from past hunts. A fireplace made from clay and carved stone set into the floor in the center of the living room.
I'd just finished explaining my story to the man withholding certain details of course.
He sat in a carved wooden chair lined with animal fur his daughter Althaea sitting in a chair next to him all smiles.
"I understand you have my thanks we'd be happy to take these two young women in I'll talk to the villagers tomorrow I'm sure some families are willing to take them in until then my home is your home there are some spare bedrooms" Kahvoerm said warmly.
Jelennth Birel nodded their thanks before heading up to the spare bedrooms.
Althaea gave her father a warm hug before heading for her bedroom.
Then it was just Kahvoerm and Theren sitting across from each other they sat in silence staring into each other's eyes before Kahvoerm spoke eyebrow raised curiously "There's plenty of beds upstairs if you want or did you still want to talk".
"I need information on the Theocracy how much of the great forest of Evasha is currently occupied by the Theocracy, how many Theocracy soldiers are there in the forest, and where are their primary military bases," Theren said voice icy the light of the fire reflecting of his narrowed eyes.
Falconreach Castle
Genevive inhaled and exhaled sharply catching her breath the bodies of three soldiers lay dead at her feet and another four stood by guarding the door to the castle's main keep. The four moved to surround her expressions of hate in their eyes as they lunged forward at once eager to avenge their fallen comrades. Rushing forward with great speed she plunged her glowing sword into the chest of one of her attackers the sword slicing through the man's armor like a woodsman's axe through a log she grabbed the mans man as he fell spinning his body around in front of her using it as a shield to block the attack of the other three which pierce the man.
With a forceful kick, she launched the corpse forward knocking one of her attackers to the ground. With two quick slices of her sword, she cut down the two attackers to her side. The final enemy desperately shoved the corpse on his chest to the side but before he could even rise to his feet a glowing sword pierced his heart and his body grew still.
Turning from her foes she stared at the door to the castle keep in front of them a large thick oaken door reinforced with steel bands. She kicked the mighty door but it failed to budge.
(Must be barred from the other side) she thought in annoyance.
"Guess it can't be helped gonna need the lizard" she huffed in annoyance.
Later
After a few minutes of walking, she'd retrieved her mount pointing at the door commanded them "Freeze it".
Orn gave her an odd look before opening their mouth and unleashing a blast of super chilled air. A cone of bluish subzero air washed over the door. For several seconds this went on till the geyser of frigid air billowing from the dragon's mouth tapered off. The door was covered in a thick layer of ice.
Genevive walked toward the door raised her steel-clad foot and with a swift kick shattered the door to pieces. As Genevive walked into the room a sound like breaking glass echoed out as she stepped over the shattered remains of the door. She saw a man with steel armor and blood blood-red cape with grayish-white hair cowering behind the desk.
The man stood up hands raised a look of fear in his eyes "I surrender if you spare my life I'll cooperate".
Genevive heistated for a moment before steeling her resolve her eyes growing cold she thrust her glowing blade into the man's chest his eyes growing wide in shock and pain as he fell to the floor she whispered out a soft "Forgive me".
