The clouds above shifted in the sky, gently passing by in the light breeze in the late afternoon. The orange sky glowed, the air felt warm, and yet refreshing at the same time. Katara took in a deep inhale from her seat on the ground, loving the clean, crisp scent she smelled coming from the trees. She then heard a branch crack startling her, turning around quickly to see what it was. She took a breath seeing a now very familiar face. "Oh… it's you." She sighed in relief.
Pushing by the low hanging branch, Shoto came out beside her with a soft smile, something she had truly come to enjoy seeing. He walked up beside her and looked around the small clearing. "What are you doing out here away from class?" he asked.
Katara gave a small shrug and looked back to the clouds. "Just enjoying the sights above. It feels nice to have some quiet time."
"I see…" Shoto gave a small sigh and rubbed his head. "… If you want quiet time, I can leave you alone."
Katara's chest suddenly tightened seeing him turn to walk away. "Wait…" she stayed quiet for a moment before she felt herself blush. "I said quiet time… not alone time."
Shoto's mouth dropped open in surprise before he smiled and nodded. Re approaching her, he came and sat on the ground next to her, looking up to the clouds beside her. The two sat quiet for several minutes before he gave a loud exhale. "This does feel nice actually. I see why you did this."
"Exactly," She responded with a smile. "Sometimes you just have to take in the beauty of the world."
Shoto's eyes couldn't help but turn to look her way after she said that. He was unable to stop himself from really looking at her, taking in her strong yet soft features. Her beautiful blue eyes that seemed to sparkle in the dimmest of light. Her long and strong dark hair that complimented her darkened skin along with a gorgeous smile as well. "Yes… you do sometimes…" he mumbled out.
Katara raised an eyebrow at the tone of his voice, turning to him with a questionable look. When she did though, she felt her breath falter when the sun was setting just behind him, the fading light illuminating around his shuffling and yet smooth hair. His strong jawline was outlined in growing shadow from behind, the faint light causing his two different colored eyes to almost glow. She swallowed the lump in her throat and leaned back, "What… what are you looking at?" She stuttered out.
"Katara, I've… I really haven't been able to truly see you until recently,"He slowly got out, shifted his body a little closer towards her. "In these past months, I have never felt better in my life, and I have you to thank."
"Oh…" Katara's cheeks warmed even more as she stared at him, noticing his body inching closer. She didn't try to move away though, in fact she seemed to feel herself wanting to move closer as well. "I'm really glad. It makes me happy to know you are doing better."
"I know… and…" Shoto couldn't help but move his hand closer towards her own, but stopping and clenching his fist. "I want to make sure you are happy. You have done so much for me."
Looking down at his hand beside hers, Katara felt an impulse come over her, wanting to feel his strong palm for some reason. She slowly inched her hand towards his, looking back into his eyes. "Shoto, I've been thinking about how we have become good friends… and-
Her words were cut off by a loud rumble, both of them looking around in shock and confusion. Suddenly, the ground began to crack and split around the two, both jumping to their feet instantly. "What's going on?!" Shoto yelled out.
"I don't know!" Katara responded just as the earth in front of them burst outward, a blinding light erupting up from the ground. Katara gasped out as she shielded her eyes, barely able to make out what was happening. A few seconds later, the brightness dimmed, allowing her to to finally move her arm. When she did, her eyes widened in shock as a large, shimmering mass towered over her, it's body flickering in pure blue light. It's solid white eyes locked on to her own. "What...what is this thing?"
Her words went unanswered, turning to see she was suddenly alone. Her heart sank as she looked around to find no one else, unable to yell out for him before the new figure opened its large mouth, a glowing light building inside it's throat. She felt her blood run cold as she tried to turn and run, sprinting through the trees before everything went white, her body surrounded in pure light.
Gasping out, Katara's eyes burst open as she shot up from her seat. Panting, she sat for a few moments before she reached up and wiped the sweat off her face. Her eyes sat unfocused for a couple seconds before she remembered where she was, looking around and seeing she was on the bus the school had given to them for the camping trip. She looked at the seat to her right and was grateful Tenya had passed out, thankful he didn't see her like this.
"Katara?"
"Huh?" Katara turned to the sound of her name, feeling her heart jump when she saw Shoto staring at her from his seat across the isle. After what she just saw, she couldn't help from feeling her cheeks warm slightly as he stared at her before she shook her head. "Wh-what's up?" She asked.
"You seemed really startled about something. You alright?" He asked in concern.
Katara huffed out and rubbed her eyes. "I'm alright. It's just… I just had an odd dream for a moment." She looked outside window and saw the sun was still barely creeping over the horizon, yawning as she laid her head back. "How long have we been on here?"
"Just over an hour. Almost everyone else is asleep still."
Sighing knowing they had another two hours to their destination, Katara got up from her seat to use the bathroom. "I need to stretch my legs for a bit."
Shoto watched her curiously, seeing the odd look on her face. "You sure you are alright? It seems something is bothering you."
"I'm fine. I just… I just need to use the bathroom real fast." She grunted out and walked towards the back of the bus. As she made her way back, she saw almost everyone else was sleeping as well, Something to be expected since they got on the bus at five in the morning. Only Jiro seemed to be awake, the earphone girl giving a small nod after looking up from her phone. Before she reached the door, Katara couldn't help but smile when she saw Momo leaning onto Izuku's shoulder, the green haired teen obviously asleep before that had happened. Once she was inside the bathroom, she stared in the mirror and frowned at the disheveled look she had.
Washing her face, Katara sat for a moment before staring back into the mirror, trying to process what she saw earlier. For the last several weeks, she had noticed her dreams had become quite odd. Most of the time there were just bright flashes of light, a strange sensation running over her body before she woke up. At first it was just something quick before vanishing, but lately they were getting longer, more detailed. The quick one she had just now by far the most realistic one yet, feeling so real to her. And it was the first time she had ever seen something like that before. Just before it attacked her and Shoto when-
"Shoto…" She mumbled out as she thought back to him. She had been having dreams with Shoto showing up in them recently as well. They were innocent enough at first, the pair of them hanging out or walking with some of their other friends. But now they seemed to be just the two of them now, seemingly getting closer every time she had them. She blushed as she rubbed her eyes, noticing he was showing up more recently when she went to sleep. She stared at herself in the mirror as she realized what she was thinking, realizing what she had been seemingly denying for sometime now.
Her friendship with Shoto had grown so much since the festival, to the point she was always disappointed when they couldn't actually spend time in the evening. She tried to push it aside, but the more she thought about it, the more she was beginning to realize what was going on. It was something she truly never thought would ever have happened, and was still unsure if it were real or not.
"Hmmmmm…"She grunted to herself in frustration, knowing this was something growing inside of her recently. It's not like she tried for this to happen, especially knowing who his father was. It's just happened that she was spending time during internships, and they were constantly training together, along with studying, and hanging out and-
"Wow, I do spend a lot of time with him…" She chuckled at herself before leaning against the wall. She scratched her head a few times as she looked down at her feet, her mind a twisted mess at the moment. While the first mystery of her dreams still confused her, she couldn't deny the fact of the other thing that had been occurring in her dreams and what it meant. Even if she tried to deny it, she knew what it meant.
As she took in what she had realized, Katara opened the door and made her way back to her seat. As she did, she noticed Shoto still looking her way, his eyes locked onto her. "Are you sure you are alright? You seemed distressed when you awoke." He asked her.
"I'm alright, thanks." She said with a smile and sat down. "I just need to relax and sleep a little more."
While he wanted to ask her more how she was, Shoto nodded and turned forward again to let her rest. Before she tried to close her eyes however, Katara couldn't help but steal one more glance at her friend next to her. Once again she felt her chest tighten as she stared at him, taking in his face before she closed her eyes and processed her thoughts. No matter what she tried to say and deny it, she knew what was happening as she drifted back to sleep.
She was falling for him.
The bus bouncing on the dirt awoke most of the students, everyone yawning as they sat up. Katara stirred in her seat and popped her neck, looking out the windows to see them stopping over a large embankment overlooking a forest. "Wow, are we already here?" She asked.
Tenya looked outside as well, noticing no buildings around them. "Is there a problem with the bus? Perhaps the engine has overheated so they must let it sit idle and-
"It's just a rest stop, so shut it," Aizawa grunted and stood up. "We have five minutes to spare, so get up and stretch your legs."
Everyone else began stirring on the bus, Momo included as she yawned and shifted her head, enjoying the warmth on her cheek. She stopped when she felt movement beneath her, opening her eyes and blushing immediately when she saw she was laying on Izuku's shoulder. "Oh god… I…"
She was lucky he was still waking up and didn't see how red she was, quickly getting off the seat and walking fast off the bus. Uraraka frowned to herself as she noticed Momo rushing off, seeing she still hadn't talked to him about it yet. 'She's still shy about telling him.'She mumbled to herself, waking Tsu up next to her as they got off as well.
Feeling the cool breeze outside brought a smile to Katara's face, stretching her arms out to the side causing her shoulder to pop. "Oh that feels better now." She sighed in relief.
"Tell be about it. I feel like my butt is still asleep."Mina groaned and rubbed her back.
Laughing, Katara looked towards the forest below, taking in the beautiful sight. The more she stared, the more she realized how much she missed the outdoors. "It's been a long time since I have seen something like this. It looks so nice."
Mina whistled as she looked out as well. "Looks pretty. But… when do we get to eat?" She growled out pouting.
"You all will have a chance to eat soon!"
The class all turned to see pair of woman leap down onto the street, the blonde in a blue and white sleeveless costume while her brunette counterpart was in red and white. Both woman had matching cat paws and tails to compliment there outfits as they posed together.
"Mandalay here!" The brown haired woman smiled.
"Pixie Bob!" The blonde grinned and threw her claws up.
"We're… the Wild Wild Pussycats!"
Most of the class stared in confusion to the newcomers, except for Izuku's eyes bursting open in excitement. "Oh my gosh! The wild wild pussycats! They are a famous team of heroes specializing in rescue! They've been around for years now and-
Izuku gasped as Pixie Bob's paw latched onto his face, the blondes smile now a maniacal grin. "Been around for what? I'm eighteen at heart!"
"Eighteen!" Izuku whimpered out as the claws scraped along his face before she released him.
Aizawa grunted as Izuku panted out before turning to the class. "As they said, these are the Wild Pussycats. They are here to help us with the training camp."
The one called Mandalay nodded and turned to the forest. "This whole mountain is actually is our property. If you go through the forest here you will find our cabin there. Whoever doesn't get there by noon doesn't get to eat!"
"Wait, what?!" Uraraka gasped along with most of the other class, bringing a smirk to Mandalay's face.
"Pixie bob, go for it."
"Oh crap, they set us up!"Kaminari yelled out in fear as they realized what was happening. Everyone turned around from the sudden chuckle, their hearts jumping as Pixie Bob was blocking their path to the bus.
"Are they attacking us?!" Katara gasped as she stared at the toothy grin on the blonde hero.
"There is no slacking now…" Aizawa whispered as Pixie Bob's paws reached for the road. "Your summer training camp starts now."
The ground began rumbling underneath the blonde pro, vibrating just before the entire road ripped apart and turned into a massive wave of dirt rushing towards them. Katara's eyes shot open in shock, but not from the attack itself, but what it reminded her of. "Wait, that looks like-
Her words were cut off as she was knocked off balance along with everyone else, tumbling backwards as the wave of earth slammed into the students. They all tumbled down the side of the embankment and down the mountain side towards the trees below, disappearing from sight as Aizawa watched the dust settle. "Good catching them off guard like that." He said to the two still with him.
Mandalay smiled back at him. "Of course. I am surprised though. Why did you request this to your class and not for the other one?"
"This is something I wanted to do on top of the rest of what we have planned," Aizawa answered as the dust cleared. "The more I can do to improve them all, the better they can be prepared for the future."
Coughing, Katara crawled up from the ground and rubbed her neck. "What the heck just happened?" She grunted out in annoyance.
"Aizawa Sensei set us up, that's what happened!" Mina growled out and spit out a chunk of dirt.
"God damn cat girl! I'm gonna go and blow that bimbo's head off!" Bakugo yelled out and kicked a large dirt mound.
"Bleh!" Momo coughed out a piece of dirt as well, shaking the dust out of her her as she saw Midoriya standing up. "Izuku, are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm good…" He wiped his face and looked over to her. "How about you?"
"I'm okay. Just a little shook up from that."
Cracking her neck, Katara suddenly heard mumbling and looked over to see Tenya's legs sticking up from a large pile of dirt. "Tenya?!" She gasped and quickly grabbed his one leg and pulled him out from the rubble. "Hey, are you alright?"
"That was completely dangerous and uncalled for! How dare Aizawa Sensei do something so reckless?!" Tenya yelled out and chopped furiously, bringing a frown to the waterbenders face.
"You are fine." She grumbled, letting him chop to himself as she thought to herself for a moment. 'That girl… she was a lot like Cementoss Sensei. Her power reminded me of… earthbending.' She thought to herself before sighing. She looked around to everyone else, seeing Shoto brushing the dirt off his shirt nearby. "You alright?" She asked him.
"Yeah, I'm good." He sighed and looked up to the trees above. "So this was all part of his plan?"
"It seems so…" she grunted and looked around. "Looks like we are on our own now to the camp now."
"We have to go through the woods?! This is too crazy!" Mineta cried out.
"It's not like we weren't coming to the outdoors in the first place," Tokoyami muttered out. "We may as well get used to it now."
"But this is crazy! What if something comes and attacks us alone!"
Jiro rolled her eyes. "Shut up. It's not like something is going to attack us here."
BOOSH!
Everyone turned around in shock to a massive brown creature stomping through the forest towards them. Kaminari screamed out as he jumped out of the way of its paws crashing into the ground.
"What the heck is that thing?!" Katara yelled out in shock, watching even the once quiet Koda yelling to the beast to try and calm it down. The creature however didn't seem to care, instead going straight for some of the students. Katara glared and reached her hand to-
"What?" She gasped when she felt nothing there before her eyes burst open. "Shoot…"
"Katara, move!" Shoto yelled out and slammed his foot down unleashing a column of ice to slam into the beasts chest. "You are distracted."
"Sorry…" Katara glared up at the beast. "I forgot I left my canteen on the bus." Seeing she had to improvise, she waved her arms and bended the ice into water before spinning it around and shooting into the creatures side… only to watch it partly dissolve.
"What the…" watched the chunks fall off the monster and yet it didn't even flinch, realizing what it was. "It's just dirt. This is just earth!"
Bakugo grinned and sparked his hands. "Even if it isn't even alive, I'm killing that hunk of rock!"
"That doesn't make sense, but let's go!" Kirishima grinned and charged forward after his friend, hardening and smashing through one of its legs just as Bakugo blasted through the air and slammed into it's head blowing it up. As the dirt beast fell apart, three more suddenly appeared in the trees behind it.
"Ah crap, more of these things?!" Kaminari yelled out in fear and annoyance.
Izuku activated his full cowling and burst through the air kicking through one of the dirt creatures body as Momo unleashed a barrage of cannon fire into it's chest. "We can fight through them all together!" Izuku yelled out to everyone else, kicking off a tree and slamming into the beasts back and forcing it to the ground.
Everyone else quickly attacked as well, Tenya speeding through the forest kicking the massive legs as Tokoyami's dark shadow slammed into the large forms. Tsu and Uraraka even took on out themselves as one made it weightless while the other slammed it into a tree with her tongue. Katara then turned and watched as another pair of dirt creatures headed her way, bringing her water back and enshrouding her shoulders. "Shoto, mind giving me a hand?"
"Of course." He quickly answered and shot forth another column of ice spikes impaling the first one. Katara quickly followed suit and swung her arm forward and slashed through the forms neck before she waved her other arm, forcing the ice piercing it to shift into water. She straightened her hand to reshape it into a thin water blade and force it down, slashing through the rest of the body in a single motion. She then turned her attention to the second one, pulling the water back around her feet before waving her arms in a windmill pattern, unleashing a barrage of water blades at the dirt creature and slashing it all over.
Seeing it damaged, Shoto slammed his right hand into the ground and created a solid mound of ice to erupt up and strike the dirt beast in the chest, the already cut body shattering instantly. He exhaled a puff of frost before he saw through the trees even more of these things coming there way. "We aren't done yet." he grunted out.
"More? How many can they make?" Mina whined as her hands dripped out acid.
Katara saw them as well, huffing out and bringing a ball of water up to her face. "If they send them, we will keep fighting." She walked forward and lifted her hand, pulling some extra water from the grass beneath her. She may not have acted in the role much, but she was chosen as the class rep and would honor that. "We can do this as long as we stick together. Don't let their numbers intimidate you. We faced real villains and we can face these too. Now let's do this!"
The sun was setting in the distance as Aizawa stood in front of the main cabin. Standing beside him were the two pussycat members as they stared into the treeline. After a few moments, Pixie Bob chuckled as she saw movement coming their way. "Well well, look what the cat dragged in."
Exiting out of the trees, Katara sweated as she slowly shuffled her feet while helping Uraraka along, the gravity girl struggling to keep from losing whatever little was left in her stomach. Tenya came close behind as he dragged his stalled out leg, and Izuku breathed hard as he supported a very drained Momo from passing out. One by one the exhausted students made their way out. Even Bakugo was having a hard time to keep his arms from trembling from overuse, gritting his teeth as he walked behind everyone. The sight almost brought a smirk to Aizawa's face as he stepped forward. "It looks to me you all showed up behind schedule."
Katara grunted and helped Uraraka to the ground, wincing as she felt her muscles cramp. "It's not like we had an easy walk."
"I know. And that was the entire point." Aizawa bluntly responded.
Smiling at the students, Mandalay crossed her arms and walked over by their teacher. "It was obvious none of you would make it here on time. In fact, you all actually did better than we expected for the first test."
Pixie Bob giggled as she clapped her paw gloves together. "All of you kids are so wonderful! To see you break through my quirk creations so quick was amazing to observe! Especially..."She licked her lips and looked to the specific students on the right. "You five were really special."
"Huh?" Izuku noticed the pro hero was looking his way, along with Bakugo, Tenya, Shoto and Katara. "Us?"
Nodding, Pixie Bob rubbed her chin as she stared at the students. "Oh yes… you were all wonderful with how well you dealt with this situation."
Sighing, Katara walked up to the blonde hero and smiled. "Thanks. That was really cool what you did with-
The sudden paw gripping her face cut her words off and pushed her aside. "Yeah yeah, missy whatever…" Pixie Bob grunted and eyed the boys like a hungry hawk. "I just can't wait for these boys to be of age for marriage!"
As Katara caught her balance from being pushed aside, she stared in shock as the blonde hero circled the boys blowing kisses their way. She was shocked at first seeing a middle aged woman ogling over teenagers, but as she watched however, she felt a strange feeling rising in her chest as Pixie Bob tried getting close to Shoto. Frowning, she looked away and crossed her arms to try and keep herself calm, only to then hear Midoriya gasping for air as his face was being crushed by the blonde once again.
"You better watch your words about age, kid…" Pixie Bob hissed out.
"No no!" Izuku gasped as he freed his face and pointed behind them. "I was just wondering… who the little boy is."
Everyone turned to see a young child standing beside the building, the kids black hair topped with a red hat with two points on it. Mandalay smiled and looked back to the class. "This is my nephew Kota. He is staying with us as well while we help you all.
Katara eyed the child curiously, noticing the look underneath the hat. It was almost one of… anger. Disgust. Even as Midoriya walked over smiling introducing himself, she never saw his face change.
"Hi there…" Izuku said with a large and happy smile. "I'm Midoriya, how are- AGH!"
"Izuku?!" Momo gasped as she watched Izuku get punched right in the crotch by the child.
"Deku!" Uraraka screamed watching him collapse in a shaky mess.
"Hahaha! I like this kid!" Bakugo laughed out as a few others ran over to Izuku's side.
"Izuku, are you okay?" Momo asked as she knelt by his side, earning a quick shake of his head.
"No… they aren't!" He cried out, clutching himself below the waist.
"Midoriya, your scrotum must receive aid immediately!" Tenya chopped in worry and pointed to Shoto behind. "Todoroki, apply your ice to the damaged area!"
"No thank you." Shoto blandly responded to the idea.
Staring in disbelief, Katara turned to watch the child stomp away past his shocked aunt towards the building, her own eyes widening to the glare he cast back their way.
"Why would I want to be around some wannabe heroes? You are all a waste of time!" Kota yelled out and walked inside, slamming the door closed behind himself.
"S-sorry…" Mandalay rubbed her head in embarrassment. "He's not the best around new people."
"That was pretty obvious." Katara commented.
Grunting to all the commotion, Aizawa scratched his head and turned back to the building. "Alright everyone, get your bags off the bus and then head to the cafeteria to eat. Afterward you have an hour of time in the baths before its lights out. You are all going to need your rest for tomorrow."
After Aizawa left, Katara sighed and rubbed her shoulder, wincing at the stiffness as she shifted it around. It had been a long time since she had to waterbend that much in one day, thankful she had been practicing lately to keep her endurance up. She stretched for a few minutes as everyone else got their bags, letting the bus clear up before she pulled her own bag out from underneath. As she turned back around, she was startled as she nearly walked straight into Shoto's chest from him standing there. "Oh, sorry. Did you still need your bag?" She asked before her eyes lowered and noticed he already had his.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"What?" She tilted her head at his question before chuckling. "I mean I'm pretty sore after what happened. That made our training feel small in comparison."
"No, I mean are you alright?" He asked her again. "You seemed pretty upset about something on the bus earlier."
Katara's smile faded at hearing that. "Oh... Yeah I'm alright. It was just a strange dream. Don't worry about it." she quickly said and turned around and walked away, causing Shoto to frown slightly.
He could tell something was bothering her, and yet she didn't want to talk about it. He felt upset she wasn't comfortable to open up about what it was, especially after what she had done for him. He took a breath and quickly caught up to her. "Katara…"
She stopped walking and turned back to him, her breath catching in her throat when she looked at him. The sunset behind him caused his features to stand out, his dual colored eyes staring down at her. What caused her heart to skip however was this was just like what she felt in her sleep, blushing as he stepped closer. "Y-yes?"
Shoto stood there for a second as he looked at her as well, caught off guard from the glow the sun behind him caused. Her blue eyes shined even brighter than usual, and her tanned skin seemed to shine in the light. He quickly shook those thoughts away and took a breath. "Katara, if… if something is bothering you, I am here to help. I will be there if you need anything."
Swallowing, Katara gave a small nod and adjusted her bag. "Thank you. I will." She gave a smile and gripped his shoulder. "If I need help, I will come to you. I promise."
After dinner, all the boys of class 1-A were now relaxing in the large outdoor bath, izuku sighing in content as he laid in the hot water. His sore muscles slowly loosened up, still annoyed using full cowling at this low of a percentage was tiring him out so much.
'I really need to push harder now…' Izuku said to himself. He looked around to the others in the water all relaxing as well, smiling as he turned up to the sky. "That was a crazy first day." he said out loud.
"Hell yeah. If this is what we are going to do everyday, I'm going to be drained by the end of camp." Kirishima chuckled out.
Tokoyami nodded in agreement. "Indeed. They seem like they are going to push us here."
"You think we would be able to enjoy the mountain views just for a bit before they try and kill us." Sero laughed out loud.
"Speaking of sights…" Mineta drooled as he stared at the bamboo wall to the side, his legs trembling underneath his towel. "There are the sights of the girls bath just over that wall!"
Several of the boys blushed at the idea, only for Tenya to stand up in defiance glaring. "Mineta! Your despicable acts are truly repulsive! I order you to not even dare try to peep at them!"
Licking his lips, he cracked his knuckles as he walked over to the wall. "They designed it to be next to us. It is fate that allowed this to happen! The rule in life is to live the fullest, and that means to see everything you can, like the sexiness that is babes bathing!"
While most of the others rolled their eyes in disgust, three began staring at him in anger. First was Izuku, the fact Mineta was attempting to crawl over to see meaning he was going to see his friends in the bath in that condition, including Momo. The only problem was then he imagined her in the water, causing his face to turn a crimson red and begin sweating profusely. Shoto as well was feeling his fist clench, his left side burning and causing the water around him to simmer. The fact Katara was being intruded on felt so wrong to him, making his stomach turn at the thought. And finally there was Tenya, and the fact someone close to him was now in the risk of being looked at in such a disgusting manner.
"Mineta…" Tenya growled out. "I suggest you stop what you are doing and get into the water now."
The tone in his voice caused some of the others to shiver, never hearing Tenya speak that way before. Mineta, oblivious due to his perverted drive, only felt his hands reaching up to his head to grab the balls growing. "I must go plus ultra and make sure I- gah!"
Mineta gasped and jumped into the air as a stream of ice nearly encased his body, sticking onto the wall and looking back to see Shoto's right hand on top the water. "You will stop this now. Understand?" Shoto threatened him.
"What is this?" Mineta grinned as he peeled off another ball from his head. "You of all people is trying to stop me, Todoroki? This makes the challenge even more difficult, but the rewards so more satisfying!"
In the blink of an eye, Mineta was rocketing up the face of the wall as a stream of ice took chase. The ball boy was barely out of reach of the ice, feeling the cold chill at his toes as he climbed. He was near the top, ready to gaze at the beauties below… just as the kid Kota popped over the top glaring at him. The surprise was enough to stop Mineta in his tracks, gasping out as he was encased in ice and fell backwards into the water. No one decided to catch him, instead letting him fall and plunge into the water and hang upside down until the ice melted.
"You are a sicko…" Kota growled out to himself as he glared down at Minieta bobbing up and down in the water. While he may have been upset with all these teenagers trying to be stupid heroes, he learned from his aunt how it was rude to spy on others. That is why he waited here to make sure the girls were left alone.
"Wow Kota, you are so sweet keeping him away!"
Kota turned at the sound of Mina's voice, his eyes going wide as he looked down to the girls side and saw the pink girl sitting on the rock and her…. exposed backside as she grinned up at him while the other girls covered themselves up with their arms. While it wasn't nudity… an eight year old boy could only take so much before his brain shut off from shock and he passed out. The girls all screamed out as he tumbled backwards and fell over the side towards the boys.
"Oh my god!" Uraraka screamed and covered her mouth in horror.
Katara panicked and tried to move out of the water, but suddenly they heard a yell from the other side.
"Don't worry, I got him! He's fine!" Izuku called out from beyond the wall, causing the girls to sigh in relief.
"Wow, that was scary…" Jiro groaned out and sat back in the water.
"Yeah." Katara turned and glared at Mina. "What was that about?!" She yelled out, causing Mina's mouth to fall open.
"What? What did I do?!" Mina complained, "I was just telling him thank you!"
"Yeah, but why didn't you cover up?! He's a little kid and you startled him!"
"I…" Mina pouted and crossed her arms blushing. "Okay I didn't think about that."
Rolling her eyes, Momo sighed and lowered herself back into the water. "It's alright. Izuku caught him and he's okay now."
Tsu raised her eyebrow in surprise at Momo. "Hey Yaoyorozu, how long have you been calling Midoriya that now?"
"What?" Momo's cheeks warmed slightly as she gave a sheepish smile. "Uh… a few weeks now. Why?"
"Yeah, what's going on with that?" Toru happily asked. "Is there something happening here?"
Momo blushed and rubbed her arms, unable to keep the small smile off her face. "I mean… we are really good friends and I maybe… no." She shook her head and took a breath. "I… I do like him, so… yeah. I started calling him that, and he calls me by my first name as well."
"Oooh! This is so exciting!" Toru splashed around all giddy. "You and Midoriya would be super cute together!"
"I mean you were laying all over him on the bus, I kinda figured you were getting closer." Jiro teased causing her friend to turn even redder as Katara laughed.
"I'm actually surprised it took this long for you two. Ever since the festival you have been blushing every time you see him." Katara said.
While the other girls giggled to the flustered Momo, Tsu sat there curious and looked over to Uraraka sitting silent. "Ribbit… haven't you been wanting to-
"Talk to Yaoyorozu?! YES!" Uraraka shot out nodding rapidly. "I already did, it's all good! I gave her the advice she needs!"
Tsu sat confused to the sudden outburst, staring into Uraraka's large eyes telling her not now. Grunting, the frog girl turned away and shrugged her shoulders. Sighing, Uraraka looked back to the others looking at her in surprise, although a few could tell she simply didn't want to talk about her old feelings and instead move on. Mina especially felt a twinge in her gut, knowing she was, while not the initial cause of it, one who got a kick out of their small rivalry to get Midoriya's attention. Now that it seemed it was Momo who won, while happy, the pink girl did feel slightly bad for Uraraka. She'd have to get her something to make her feel better.
'I wonder if she likes ice cream…' Mina shrugged to herself.
Swallowing, Uraraka chuckled and forced a smile. "S-so. When are you going to talk to Deku?"
"I…" Momo pouted and lowered her chin to the water. "I don't know. Does it feel forced to just go to him and tell him instead of letting him tell me?"
"Oh come on…" Katara rolled her eyes and sighed. "You both have been close for a long time, and it is alright for you to just say how you feel with him."
"Not really…" Momo frowned. "I… what do I do? Just go up and say, "Hey I like you, let's date!"? Because I think it may make him pass out."
"Him, or you?" Jiro teased, making Momo glare.
"I just don't want to seem desperate, okay?"
"Wow, you really are overthinking this." Katara gave a deadpanned look to her friend. "You are making this much more difficult."
"Oh, me?" Momo raised her eyebrow and crossed her arms. "Okay then, how about this? If I tell Izuku how I feel, then you have to tell Todoroki."
Immediately, Katara's eyes shot open as her face suddenly burned. "What? Wh-what are you talking about?" she asked, earning an eye roll from Momo.
"Oh please, you two have been spending so much time together, in and out of school. I can't even recall more than two days where you weren't with him."
"We… we are training, is that so bad?" Katara frowned, unable to hide the blush on her face now.
"Yeah, is that why you call him Shoto?" jiro asked with a smirk, giggling at the glare she received.
"You have been calling him that for sometime now," Tsu added. "Even texting him late at night and all that."
Now everyone turned in confusion to the frog girl, especially Katara who's heart suddenly pounded in her chest. "What? H-how would you know I did? I mean… Which I won't… or don't… I haven't!"
Staring blankly at the flustered waterbender, Tsu shot her tongue over to the side and grabbed her phone. She slid through her messages and opened it up. "The other night when we left the park together, I got a random text from you in the night. I didn't say anything since I figured it was a mistake."
As she turned the screen around for the others to see, the five other girls all grinned while Katara's face felt like it was on fire to what she had accidentally sent her friend.
Goodnight Shoto. I'll see you in the morning.
"Oh… busted!" Mina laughed as Katara lowered her face in the water up to her eyes.
"Aw, that's so cute!" Uraraka giggled and patted the waterbenders head.
"This is so adorable! You and Todoroki?! Ohhh!" Toru cheered out.
Katara exhaled releasing a stream of bubbles before coming up, taking breath to try and calm herself. She knew denying it now wouldn't change anything, so she sighed and nodded. "I… okay fine. I may have… started having these feelings lately, okay?" She answered and looked away, feeling her face still burning.
Momo smiled and nudged her arm. "I understand what you are going through… trust me."
Forcing out a chuckle, Katara couldn't help but agree with her. Rubbing her head, she laid back in the water and looked up to the dark sky. She stared at the half moon as she half listened to what the girls were saying, still trying to take in what was happening to her. She had come to a place with powers that seemed out of stories she read from back home, and now she was falling for a boy… who happened to be the son of the man who first encountered her here in this place. And she couldn't even imagine what would happen if he found out something like that.
'This is going to be an interesting camp…' she said to herself.
