Now in his final year at Midtown High; Peter Parker was now pretty much a loner by choice this time. One of his childhood best friends Eddie Brock was still in the pscyhiatric hospital, another Harry Osborn was in hospital care due to a relapsed coma and now with his final close childhood friend Gwen...

He was outright avoiding her. He blocked her number and blocked her on every social media site that they were on and avoid all attempts by her to talk to him. Everything. He then avoided the dreaded 'Look'.

It wasn't easy, it was one of the hardest things that he had to do for a long time and he didn't really want to do it but he had no other alternative. It was easier this way; it broke his heart to see her like this all confused and everything. It was a responsibility that he had to bare.

He was up in his room and heard out from down the stairs "Peter Parker; can you please come down here for a minute... I will have to say that it's not a request but a demand!" She sounded real serious this time and went down to see what was going on.

He blinked as he saw assembled was Gwen with her head down, his ex-girlfriend Liz Allan, Mary Jane Watson and Flash Thompson looking like he was glaring hard at Peter with his arms folded.

"So; is this a surprise party or an intervention?" Peter asked raising an eyebrow and his wit didn't win him any favors this time.

"We didn't want it to come to this Peter but you forced our hands! It was one thing when it just looked like you wanted to give Gwen space after her dad died and wanted to grief yourself but what you have been doing... It's pretty much inexcusable..." Mary Jane told him and Peter didn't want to try and make up an excuse for any of this. It was hard definitely at first but then something happened when he met people...

"Petey; I don't get you... I was hurt when you broke up and even when we were dating it was clear that you couldn't give me your focus as your heart was on Gwen but... Now you're giving her a cold shoulder and treating her worst than you ever did me... At least you tried to apologise and didn't pretend that I didn't exist! Don't you want to be happy and can't you see that she is suffering!" Liz asked and Peter felt like a below the belt move for her to use her pet name like that. He didn't want to hurt any of them but how could he explain...

"Peter... I was in a bad place when my dad died... I wanted my best friends at my side but Harry had been lying to me, used Globilun Greene as leverage for us to be together and then relapsed... I thought you had wanted to give me space but you didn't even give me a chance to tell you that I needed my best friend at my side... Now you refuse to even be near me... I thought you would understand since you lost your uncle..." Gwen said forming tears in her eyes with Peter getting judgemental looks towards him.

He felt his dimensional watch go off and he groaned; "Miguel was right; 'Parker' luck is the most unforgiven, unfair and downright sadistic of all cosmic forces connected to the Spiders in the Arachno-Humanoid-Poly-Multiverse... Someone should tell him that the name sucks..." Peter thought in his head as he started walking to the front door.

"This has been fun but... Something came up so... Can we pick up sometime later..." Peter asked only for Flash to quickly block the front door and then the others blocking the way to the back door. "So that's why they brought him... I don't have time for this." Peter thought in his head. "Only warning Eugene... Move... Now..." Peter told him and Flash raised an eyebrow.

"Watch what you saw Parker and remember that you are powerless against me if you try and start a fight. You are not leaving until you sort this out with Gwen so don't bother making empty threat..." Flash retorted only for peter to effortlessly shove him aside much to Flash's eyes widening. He went up and went to tackle Peter but a punch from Peter knocked him out cold.

He then ran out the door and quickly web slinged up the wall to the window of his room to get his Spider-Man stuff to quickly change. "Peter Benjamin Parker! You come back here; right now!" Aunt May had yelled as Peter then answered his watch to see the hologram of Miguel O'Hara the Spider-Man of 2099 and leader of the Spider Society.

"Peter; we have an anomaly alert in Earth-12041. You will be with a partner for this." Miguel told him as another older Spider-Man came up behind him.

"Saw what you did Peter; I think you were kind of harsh and I think you should take some advice from an experienced sage." Peter B. Parker told the younger Peter.

"Sage relationship advice from someone who got divorced and let his life fall apart?" Peter retorted as Peter B. took a step back.

"Oh... That stung... I mean it seriously; I have fought a Nazi made of bees a bunch of times and they never stung like your words too." Peter B. said as he then put a hand on Peter's shoulder. "Still... You could try and make the last of your time together something to remember fondly... Don't let the last thing be... This." Peter B. then told him and Peter shook his head.

They then went through the portal and Peter said "It's better this way; more time we spend together and more I maybe tempted to try and stop it... Just better wait it out as I think Canon Event ASM122 is coming real soon here in my universe..."

An idea that came to my mind of if Spectacular Spidey in Across the Spider-Verse lost his Gwen already or knows that he will... Still sometime soon I am thinking of a new alternate universe story with Spidey inspired by the Boys and Squadron Supreme; 2 ideas I tempted before but I hopefully gets to work now.
