Kumon Kaito was just finishing his street dance performance with his Team Neo Baron, it was a dance group consisting of problematic teenagers that were fed upwith their lives or just bored. It was Kaito whom educated these people into a group to be proud of and at the same time they respected him as their leader. An ironic fact was that Team Neo Baron looked just like his old teammates, for example Zack , where a guy was named Jack except his hair was blue and Peko, a young man named Pick who looked exactly the same except for being younger.
Even so he trained them not to rely on the ability MANA OF LIGHT and at the same time self-defense as it was a rule he created. But of course at first the team protested but as time passed they got used to it. Their dance group was popular in the empire as the people always came, cheered and watched them dance since there weren't many street dancers around there. But the citizens called the team strange as they prefered working without the use of mana saying that small stuff like this didn't require mana.
"Good Job Kaito, we were great as usual," Jack congratulated the team leader.
"Yeah we all did awesome, you should have seen how they love us," Pick was going all hyped up as usual.
"Our reputation would probably surpass the princess' ," one of the members added his two cents.
" I highly doubt that even if we did we might have to called ourselves team Ange" another member Joke.
"Kaito are you listening?"
"Sorry I was reading the news on the hologram pad about that incident again"
"Another Norma was sighted again?"
"They keep calling these people freaks of nature like a disease".
"Can you blame them the news always exaggerated them, especially when one of them can destroy Mana".
"If I see one I will just run away since they're nothing but an abomination, " commented Pick.
Upon hearing those words, Kaito gave the youngest member of Team Neo Baron a threatening glare, one that made the teen apologize in fear.
"I'm sorry Kaito, it came out wrong".
"Enough, what's important is that they are of no problem. Let's just clean up the stage and we all go home," replied the team leader.
Then the team started to clean the stage, but the tension was there, so they worked in silence.
Another thing about Kaito that he team couldn't get used to was him being a Norma-sympathizer, the leader wasn't a racist like the other people in the empire.
Before they met him, Jack couldn't even stand the sight of a Norma and Pick would just insult them but it all changed when Kaito told them what was right and wrong. Of course, there were difficulties at first, as they were taught that Normas were dangerous. But he told them how a corrupted government would hide everything and they realized it was true when Kaito managed to procure certain files about the Norma's body function. It was all the proof they needed but only some of the team, like Jack and Pick were the ones who knew about this since he trusted them enough to keep secrets. He knew that if this secret got out the entire team would be in danger.
After finishing the cleaning and saying goodbye to his team, the former Armored Rider went for a walk, reminiscing about the past 8 months when he came back from the dead as a different man but the world, as he realized, wasn't the one he knew and he could speculate that some kind of entity, celestial or whatever universe joke brought him to this beautiful yet disgusting world, the first time he woke up he didn't know he was alive or remained an overlord but it seemed that he was half human and half overlord or hybrid of some sort.
Baron couldn't tell it was because the transformation was half complete or something else since it was a desperate measure to defeat Sengoku Ryoma when he ate the forbidden fruit and turned into a Kaijin, and thus becoming Lord Baron.
Another reason could have been because he was defeated by Gaim, the Kamen Rider could have halted the transformation or Gaim just wanted to turn him into a human but couldn't. The world had no wars, no poverty and equality was at its best.
It was the perfect world that Tsukasa Mai and Kazuraba Kouta envisioned. The society was using some new kind of technology like magic or Mana, Kaito could have been suspected to be a Norma but for some odd reason he could power the gadgets, but for the life of him can't conjure up mana barriers and so on.
Then again it's better not to be on the run like a fugitive in this world without information. The world was perfect but for every perfection there will always be one small flaw, Kaito didn't believe in the so called perfect world, evidence in the treatment of Norma being persecuted by the public.
What angered him the most was that everyone was nothing but sheep believing in their government. It was like the Yggdrasill Corporation working in the shadows all over again, hiding something and he knew in his guts that something big was happening.
But Kaito was not an idiot, he was not Kouta. He would not just go out and become a target since he knew that sometimes being patient is the key. The only thing he had was an identity and Banana Lockseed which was broken from a bladed attack, the Mango Lockseed, the Rose attacker and the Dandeliner .
One other thing he couldn't stand was how everyone adored the first princess of the Misurugi Empire like some kind of idol. Every street he walked on, there were her pictures and names everywhere. Angelise Ikaruga Misurugi was beautiful, he would admit it, but Kaito knew that beneath that soft façade was nothing more than a spoiled brat, pampered by royalty since birth looking down on others.
Everywhere he went, people would sing praises about the blonde princess. He even saw people wearing the princess' choosing of clothes. Tch was the only thing he said as he ignored everything around him. His life was what anyone would call boring.
But Kaito hated people persecuting the weak just because they could not use Mana. They treated them like a plague, he would have act but he didn't have any power and he doubted he could open a crack to the Helheim ( He already tried using the lock vehicles to go through the crack) and the snake was probably invading another planet or dimension who knows where.
It was certain Kaito was all alone, but even so he lived by his motto, his way of life, his very core principle, one to never surrender.
While he was walking quietly, he noticed a crowd of people and a warning hologram sign that was held up high. Kaito decided to look into the matter, and what he saw ignited a flame within him.
A mother was protecting her daughter from the police and royal guards judging by their clothes. They were creating a barrier to 'protect' the royal family whom he suspected were in the vehicles. It was the first time he had seen a Norma up close especially when the baby broke the barrier like nothing.
There were no differences between the baby and a normal baby capable of using mana. The child mere wanted to be near her mother and was crying. Kaito would have intervened but he lacked power right now and the only thing he could do was stay silent and patient. He hated it, and if Gaim was here he probably would have rushed in without thinking, consequences be damed.
Then he saw her, the princess in plain sight, right in front of him. Angelise Ikaruga Misurugi was cladded in a beautiful white and blue gown, coupled with her flawless skin and long golden hair, she looked exactly like a perfect princess would.
However, Kaito knew better and waited among the crowd to see what type of princess she was. After all, being observant is also a key to winning a battle along with logic.
The first princess of the Misurugi Empire, Angelize Ikaruga Misurugi walked towards the mother and daughter, looking at the daughter like she was some kind of animal.
" Princess please I will take care of my daughter," The mother pleaded.
"I'm sorry, but unfortunately that thing is no longer human. And as such she must be quarantined, it's for the greater good".
The mother was in a hopeless situation and didn't know what to do but she finally broken from her thoughts when the princess told the mother that she should give birth to another that can use mana. The mother, feeling hurt from such words, threw a bottle towards the princess.
"Angelise-sama are you all right" her maid, Momoka, protected her with a mana shield.
Angelise nodded and thanked her maid, then the princess heard a voice, one filled with hate and animosity.
"Disgusting"
Every in the crowd looked towards the venomous voice to see a man wearing old fashioned clothes. He was of a similar age with the Princess but his hair was brown and messy, he was kind of handsome with a bad boy persona.
"Disgusting indeed ,I agree" the princess responded..
"Your misunderstood, Hime I wasn't talking about them. I was talking about you," Kaito turned and started at her, obviously mocking her. " The most disgusting words I have ever heard, coming from your mouth".
Like the usual, everyone in the crowd murmured as they were surprised at the man calling the princess disgusting. For insulting royalty, the man was held down by the royal guards, but Kaito didn't regret it.
He knew that they would probably toss him in jail without any parole but the princess irritated him, reminding him of the spoiled boy Kureshima Mitsuzane. At the same time the crowned prince found the man to be amusing since no one had ever insulted her sister before, while the younger princess was shocked for no one had ever insulted her big sister in such a way. Sylvia had only heard of praises whenever anyone talked about her sister.
"Release him", Angelise told the guard, showing her elegant features that was masked it was nothing but a lie in heart she wanted the guards to hit him hard but image must be maintained.
"Why do you call me disgusting? Identify yourselves". She orders with command.
"My name isn't worth mentioning in front the likes of you. Find out yourselves, as for the disgusting part, all I see is a princess, if you can even call yourself one, treating a small harmless child like a threat that has yet to even learn how to crawl," Kaito spat.
"You are mistaken, this is no child, it is something inhumane and must be quarantined, they will eat and destroy our mana and causing us not able to use magic," replied Angelise.
"All I see is a mother loving her child even if she is a Norma and you, a princess who didn't give a shit to her pleas. She sought you to give her child a chance, yet you just told to replace a child. I find that disgusting, " Kaito continued, " and how can a child destroy mana when she was born from a mana using mother it's not logic".
"What I did is for the greater good of our society, a child like that must be dealt with".
"So if there's a royal family member who iss a Norma ,what would you do?"
"That would be impossible the Royal family are purebred that is born using the Mana of light since the creation of the empire."
"Don't change the subject answer the question or does her highness doesn't have the answer ".
"Then what about you, are you a Norma sympathizer that you would care this inhuman being been born".
"What IF I tell you I was a Norma what you would do"
As the crowds heard that they started to panic, then the royal Guard created a triangular green light cage around Kaito. But he didn't react nor did he falter at all, he merely kept his hands in his pocket and smirked at the guards.
"ARE YOU A NORMA!?" one of the guards shouted. Panic and Paranoia is what this society is, even those who aren't are Norma kept pointing their fingers at the suspicious person.
"Maybe yes, maybe no. What do you think?" Kaito moved his hands across the surface, yet it didn't crack like the baby girl did mocking everyone here.
"He's not a Norma, stand down," The princess command her Royal guard. "Why did you do that, one of the guards would have shot you on sight".
"I do not fear death, but I hate cowards and hypocrites like you princess Angelize Ikaruga Misurugi, your name can be seen like that of an angel with white wings but all I see are tainted black wings. Someone like you only see the world from in one perspective, never knowing the whole truth. And you only think about yourself and not the people what I saw is not an elegant princess but a spoiled brat".
"How dare you!" Angelise raised growled and raised her arm as she was about to slap Kaito.
But before she could, Kaito grabbed her wrists and kissed her forcefully on the princess lips. It wasn't a serious kiss but it sent the message easily, even adding salt to the wounds as Kaito never hit women.
Angelise was shocked that she had just lost her first kiss. To the crowd, they were shocked to the core as they had just witnessed a commoner kiss their princess in such a manner. The princess pushed the man away and sent a punch to his face.
The former Overlord didn't move, allowing her punch to reach his cheek, leaving a small red mark. Kaito taunted, "Weak and you called that a punch how weak" Then the Princess began to punch him again and again, only getting the same results.
The prince couldn't help grin amusedly at seeing his beloved sister scowling uglier and hitting a commoner. The little Princess was even more afraid seeing what happen. The princess then stopped after getting tired punching Kaito on the face while Kaito just stare at her stoically.
"I will gave you one advice Hime, postpone the baptism Ritual or cancel it. Something bad is going to happen, and you will regret it." Kaito spoke once more.
Before she could said anything "Angelize-sama please were going to be late" her loyal maid intervened trying to avoid any conflict and humiliation.
"Leave him we need to hurry" the royal guards the left their pose following the royal family towards their destination after they left the crowds gave Kaito a death glare and avoiding him like a plague like he care.
It was midnight and it was this time she would sing, but could not concentrate as the princess was furious thinking the man who humiliated her in public and not only that forcibly stole her kiss if that wasn't bad enough he didn't felt anything towards her it was just a blank stare more like watching a statue and looking down on her.
"Why are you so late"
"I've seen a Norma and another annoying brute and he stole my first kiss"
"Oh who was it?" the queen was shocking hearing someone stole her daughter kiss and the method of Norma.
"He was a commoner Kumon Kaito leader of the street dancer team Neo Baron".
Team Baron Popularity was similar to the princess since this country doesn't have many street dancers not only that all of them were young good looking males was a bonus. The princess knew who he was after remembering his clothes symbol and looks for information and never thought the dance group she anticipated was the leader of that brute.
"I see I once meet the man himself".
"What when mother?".
"It happened a few months ago but that's not important, I will tell you tomorrow Sleep well, tomorrow is an important day and you need to be at your best".
"I understand mother, I will" Angelise replied as she prepared to sleep. But even as she laid on the fluffy pillows, her mind couldn't help but drift off to the brute of a commoner and how he stole her first kiss violently.
Meanwhile, Kaito was laying on his bed, fidgeting with his Banana lockseed. Suddenly he sneezed, "Hmph, someone must be talking about me. Whatever."
The next day, it was time for the princess' baptism ritual. Everyone, including Team Neo Baron, was either sitting in front of their TV or at the site of the ritual, eager to witness their favourite princess receive her baptism ritual. As Kaito sat with his team, he sighed as the princess still ignored his warnings, though he couldn't say he didn't expect it. After becoming half Overlord, Kaito had developed some kind of sixth sense that let him sense all kinds of stuff, sometimes even the future slightly. This was one of them.
As Angelise prepared to receive her baptism, the alarm sounded as she was surrounded by a platoon of guards. Julio stood up and announced that she had been a Norma all along, with her parents forming a conspiracy to keep the Norma in the royal family. The prince shot his father as punishment for treason before ordering his sister to be executed.
But her majesty the Queen tried to protect her daughter from the arrest and leaped for her daughter. This surprised the guards and she was shoot by a stray bullet when her barrier collapse like fragile glass. The princess was captured and exiled from her homeland, only known to a few.
It was raining heavily, perfectly reflecting Angelise's feelings as she sat in prison, ready to be shipped off to who knows where. It had just been yesterday. Yesterday when she was worshipped like a goddess, as the Empire's princess. But now she had been reduced to a criminal. All the former princess could do, was cry.
Kaito strolled along the lonely streets, ignoring the rain as he picked up a poster that was torn, one that had the picture of the former princess. The Overlord had expected this, and he felt no amount of pity for her. It was ironic anyway, the princess ended up being the very thing she hated.
He had heard rumors of how the princess outwitted the prince in every way and felt jealous towards her. It was no surprise the popular people will always be loved and the second rate will be forgotten. Kaito however felt disgusted with Julio's cowardness, reminding him a lot of Kureshima Mitsuzane once again.
All he did now, was wait. It was the calm before the storm after all, and everything would change soon.
A few weeks had passed and the empire had changed for the worse after the death of the emperor, where Julio took over. There were no citizens who moved around happily, it was like someone dropped a nitrogen bomb on the empire covering with the coldness of ice as Norma were persecuted much worse than before and street dancers needed a permit before they can perform. The citizen starting to act warily among other's but not team Baron. Through Kaito's leadership they all stood together as brothers. Until Kaito was called in by Emperor that his majesty wanted an audience with the team leader Baron, as the Former Armored Rider couldn't refuse such polite invitation.
Now, Kaito stood in the castle. The place befitted the name of a castle, decorations that would cost billions and gold just about everywhere in the throne room. Sitting on the throne was the Prince Julio Asuka Misurugi or in other words, the Emperor. Since he sentenced his own father to death for treason, the prince had taken the crown, with Riza as his right hand. Sylvia was probably in the castle somewhere but that mattered not to Kaito.
Kaito wasn't intimidated by the lowly prince. He was however curious as to how the Prince used his influence to broadcast this event to the audience, he probably wanted to gain popularity from the renowned Team Neo Baron working under him or a speech how the empire can still survive.
"Welcome Kumon Kaito, leader of team Neo Baron. I'm honoured by your presence here since the discovery of Norma among my family. I have to wash everything-". The prince spread his arms in a humble familiarity.
"Cut to the chase I don't think you brought me here just to gloat about being the king of a nation that lost its name", Kaito cut him off. Normal people would bow down in front Royalty but not Kaito, he would only respect those that earned it, people like Gaim.
"How dare you! show some respect to his highness commoner" the bodyguard shouted.
The prince raised his hand, silencing his guard, "Straight to business aren't we I like that." Julio took a breath, "You have probably seen how everything changed since finding out my beloved sister was a Norma. We all felt betrayed and my father's death sentence was unavoidable."
" Yet, you didn't mourn for him nor did you mourn for your mother when they died". Kaito just folded his hands not being intimidated.
"As king, I cannot mourn for my traitorous father, but I will always love my mother, even if she was killed by my monster of a sister." Announced Julio while placing a palm over his heart.
"So what, its not like I love the princess or anything, beside you managed to run the Empire without any trouble so what do you need me for". It was just a question but Kaito needed to know his real motive, even though the chances were slim, the spoiled prince would slip his tongue.
"So true, the reason I called you here to the Throne room is for something important, I want you to be my knight a bodyguard to protect me from the Norma and protect this nation under my command," spoke Julio arrogantly.
"So basically, you want my servitude to the crown," commented Kaito quietly, but loud enough for the blonde to hear.
"That is correct you will have all the things you want, prestige, fame and a noble title of your own. Your team will also gain a noble title including fame. Join me Kumon Kaito and together we can create a bright future for this nation," the prince stood up, extending his right hand for Kaito to shake.
It was all planned, the prince wanted some formidable knights around him and he found out about Kaito being a nobody: there was no birth certificate, no family and no nothing about him as such he would be desperate wanting something, he didn't care if he was a Norma sympathizer. for like all humans desire was inevitable and he would forgot all about it. But Julio underestimated the Overlord, he underestimated the baron of the warriors.
Kaito moved forward as the citizens were watching with anticipation, thinking a vow between A Knight and King would take place, when Kaito was about to shake the prince hands he slap it away which shocked everyone including the Prince
" I refuse to be someone lap dog," spoke the man coldly, " You are no king you only obtained this power through cowardly means. A true king would use his own true strength to obtain it, if you're a man you would challenge your father or your sister for supremacy instead of hiding like a coward. You're nothing more than a vulture scavenging the leftovers of a dying animal".
"How dare you! Don't you know I'm the emperor?! All I have done is for the Empire if my sister were become Empress it would topple." Roared the emperor.
"Then what have you achieved in your life, did you walk among the commoners, did you pay a visit to an orphanage, did you even help a cat up on a tree? No you're a nobody afraid of your sister for always being her shadow because she outwitted you and being disinherited, a coward to the end, " Kaito smirked at the end.
"Shut I'm the Emperor my word is law and you will follow it!".
"I don't care if you're the king of the world you are weak and a coward I rather serve a Norma monster than the likes of you".
"What a fool I can threaten you team and make your life miserable like a Norma, the prince was starting to lose his composure forgotten that this meeting was being televise to the nation."
"My team you say?" Kaito laugh mockingly hearing that sentence" they are nothing more than pawns ready to be discarded. I just used them to gain popularity, after that I would have just left them."
"You monster you're no better than a Norma".
"Then I rather be a Norma then serving a coward prince. go to hell you shitty prince". It was uncharacteristic for Kaito saying those words but it felt good.
"Guards seize him at once for the crime of disloyalty!" The Royal guards started to surround Kaito " for insulting the emperor I hereby exiled you like the Norma you are!". Kaito fought leaving all the guards in bruise but even how strong he was they were to many and was detained with both of his hands hand cuffed tightly drag towards the nearest transport.
The prince was furious as not only he lost a valuable pawn but had no choice but to comply to the exiled punishment. If he stopped the order he would become laughing stock and the people will start to question why did he deserve such fate. An isolated island that no male has ever step foot it was a secret not even the citizen know. But it didn't matter he doubted the man would survive and return.
The news that was broadcast how a citizen of the empire insulted, rejected and showed his true colors was shocking as it was the second time in history of the Empire but at the same time the seed of doubt was planted. As Kaito was handcuffed with bruise on his face, the citizen started calling him worse than a Norma and insulted him.
" NORMA LOVER!"
"UNGRATEFUL CURVE!"
"BACK STABBER!"
"You bastard!" A sudden fist came crashing towards Baron face as Jack punch Kaito in the face. Even so Kaito wasn't even fazed by the punch "We thought you as our brother but to think we were nothing more than mere pawns". It was his team Baron they came and not in a friendly manner more looks with betrayal.
Kaito retaliated by head butting back on Jack's forehead even when handcuffed then they brawl on the street supporting by other in a shouting match. When the guards decided to intervene stopping not before seeing jack with few scratches on his clothes and chin
"I hope you rot and die where ever they sent you!"
"I don't plan on dying anytime soon." Laughed Kaito. He didn't regret anything at all he felt something in his gut something will exciting happen. He stopped becoming a human indeed.
Commander Jill just received a Report that another prisoner was exiled and was sent here for the crimes of insulting the Emperor and causing trouble in the Royal Throne room. She found the man to be amusing as she read the report stating that the prisoner was willing to live like a Norma than living a life in the empire like some peasant, he even rejected an offer of a life time to live like a Nobel and luxury.
"It seems were going to have a new prisoner again this month but the problem is this, "Emma Bronson said, " Kumon Kaito I have search every data about him but nothing came up, its like he suddenly appeared out of no where. Not only that I heard he mange to knock 32 guards unconscious and that was just inside the palace."
"That is interesting and weird but it's better to have a soldier with no past to bind them then a soldier with and attachment, it was the truth some of the girls in this facility are taken from their family who still wanted to go home and others who are too young to remember anything." Spoke Jill.
"The problem is that he is a male and not a Norma this would give problems to the females, commander you should know is being a long time since a male step in this place it will chaotic as they try to look, touch, communicate or even worst…. You know he can't pilot those things".
"I just need to gave him a warning that I will crush his balls if he lay a hand on one of my girls but something tells me he would not do it, just be cautious around him and try not to stutter too much. I have the feeling he can pilot those."
"understood" even so she had her doubts.
Jill look back at the report Kumon Kaito a very strange individual that I ever seen but a test must be needed if the Dragons mind control doesn't affect him will he be able to corporate or not for Libertas if not he will be expendable.
Meanwhile on a transport ship
If anyone was around here, they would have called him a fool for not only rejecting an offer of a life time from the Emperor but also for calling the honour of being a knight to be dogs in servitude.
But whatever everyone else thought, Kaito never regretted one bit for insulting the prince, even with his punishment of being exiled to god knows where. He had both his hands cuffed to prevent him from escaping and there were only two guards, most probably underestimating him thinking that he was not much of a threat with his bruises.
But Kaito wasn't really worried where they sent him, he would and he will survive. Both guards found the guy to be the most foolish idiot for insulting the Royal Family and deserved this punishment.
Now, Kaito was sleeping and dreaming. In reality, it was a dream a short dream but it felt like a long dream, he was there walking in the ruins of a city. There were flames all over the place. Corpses of humans and Inves alike laid around him, endless vines from the Helheim wrapped around them. Kaito saw humans, soldiers and others. But what caught his attention were the countless dead armored bodies of the Kurokage troopers and several Armoured Riders, apart from Gaim of course.
Then he heard a roar, he looked up and came face to face with something big. It was huge, larger than any of the Suika Arms suit. The beast had wings and its yellow demonic eyes stared down at him, as if it was threatening to kill Kaito. But Kaito stared back with equal, if not more intensity. The beast roared and flapped its wings, then everything went black.
Then when he came to, he found himself sitting on a throne. In front of him were humans and Inves, all kneeling to him. Kaito looked to the side, where a mirror stood and found himself staring at the reflection of Lord Baron. Kaito blinked and looked down at himself, and indeed he was in his Overlord Baron form.
Kaito looked to the sides and found Armored Rider Knuckle and Genesis Rider Marika. Then the whole scene changed again. He was now standing on an open field, in front of him stood Armored Rider Baron, but the Lockseed was different.
The scene changed again, this time he was standing in front of himself, more specifically his Armoured Rider form of Baron. But there was one difference, the colours were darker than the original. Then he felt pain burst from his head, in an instant he relieved all his memories of the Inves war, the fight with all the Armored Riders and becoming an Overlord. Finally, Baron was alone facing an army of Inves from its pupa form through growth size like a gorilla and flying, he wasn't afraid as he charged the army alone laughing like a madman as baron slash all his enemies without remorse. Reason wrote is because I didn't like how the anime story line, Sunrise really did F…. all mech series except the movie wasn't in high standard, this anime lacks the vandread and Infinite stratos story line and appealing . It's probably the reason why they decided to revive Gintama and the apology scene from the first episode. This story line I only wrote depend on my mood since I aint going to write it serious. For the record I ain't into YURI or YAOI. It just lack certain criteria, I choose Kaito since his the best character for this situation and a honorable person and their will no transformation sequence this is a mech anime afterall.
