Jill was immersed into her book, loving it so far. Jill had always been a big reader, it brings her calmness and peace, it definitely helps, especially with what her job is.

Currently, she's reading a thriller, it has to be her preferred genre. The adrenaline and suspension of it makes her feel more alive and she enjoys the obvious thrill it gives to her.

With Jill being so into her book, she didn't realize what Chris was doing until she heard a loud thud that caused her to jump and feel her heart pound within her chest.

In her head, she knew she only got that scared because of the book she was reading. Being that into the book, then hearing a odd noise, it was bound to occur.

"Sorry hun, that was me." Chris shouted from another room. Jill sighed in relief and gave out a annoyed scoff, "What was it?" She shouted back. "Nothing, just... I dropped something. Get back to reading." Chris replied. Jill thought nothing of his response, going back to her book.

A couple minutes later, Jill heard another loud noise and now she was irritated. What was Chris doing? Trying to annoy her? Well, probably, that's a dumb question. Chris is a little shit sometimes.

Jill annoyingly tossed her book on the end of the couch, standing up and stretching a bit. Her foot felt like pins and needles from the way she was sitting, it almost hurt to walk.

She made her way to the kitchen, where she presumed Chris was. "Why can't you just be careful and stop making noi-" Jill was cut off by the sight she seen.

Chris was standing in front of the oven, focused on whatever it was he was doing. Some classical music was on in the background, very quietly though.

"Since when do you cook?" Jill questioned with a chuckle, also a scoff. "Since I've noticed you've been stressed." Chris turned around, his soft and gentle stare focused on Jill and her pretty face.

"What do you mean?" Jill asked, putting her hands on her hips, walking closer towards him. "What're you even making?" She asked, her tone sweet and remaining calm.

"Chicken Parm and Spaghetti." Chris smiled as he spoke, clearly proud of his doing.

Jill walked out here, planning to get on Chris for being obnoxious but the entire time, he was doing this for her. She couldn't help but blush a bit and feel grateful for him, he was an amazing husband.

"You know I love Chicken Parm." She said quietly with a adorable little half smile. "I do." He said quietly, kissing her head before turning back to the oven, stirring the noodles in the pot.

"Do you want any help?" She asked politely, wanting to seem useful. "Wanna know how you can help?" Chris asked, a little grin forming on his face. "You can go back to the couch, read your little book, and wait till I bring dinner out to you." He spoke, a chuckle coming out of his mouth.

Jill playfully rolled her eyes and slapped his bulky forearm. "Baby, seriously, how can I help you?" "Literally by what I just said... Let me do this for you." Chris said, pleading a bit. Jill just stood there in annoyance before inevitably agreeing, heading back to the living room.

Grabbing her book, Jill plopped back onto the couch, getting comfy again and going back to reading. Her eyes felt a bit heavy, but that was also the usual for her. With all the work she's constantly putting up with, she's always bound to being beyond exhausted.

Her vision felt a bit blurry as she attempted to focus on the words, but time after time, she read slower and slower. Eventually, Jill couldn't help but close her eyes, laying her head upon the small pillow.

Jill fell asleep and couldn't even stop herself.

-

Chris called out Jill's name a few times, expecting her to walk on out with a smile. That dream was crushed when she didn't. He assumed she was being an ass, and just not listening to him.

He stepped down the ledge that lead into the living room and looked over to the couch. "C'mon Jill, I made your fo-" He stopped speaking and looked down. Did she actually just fall asleep?

Smirking to himself, he sat on the couch, glancing down at her. "Honey?" Chris said in a calming voice. "Wake up baby." He said again.

Jill wouldn't budge, Chris never understood how she was such a heavy sleeper. Chris sighed, getting disappointed that she wouldn't even open an eye.

"I finished dinner, let's go eat." Chris spoke again, which finally caused her to awaken. "I'm sorry.." Jill said tiredly. Chris snickered and rubbed Jill's back softly. "Don't apologize, this is exactly why I cooked tonight. You've been so stressed and drained, its about time I take care of you. Like a good husband should." He spoke with a happy tone.

Jill's tired eyes focused on his handsome face, she couldn't help but smile a little. "Thank you." She said softly. Chris just nodded. "Let me go make your plate. Don't fall asleep, okay?" He said in a playfully stern tone. "Yes sir." Jill said back.

Walking back to the kitchen, Chris placed a scoop of the spaghetti onto Jill's plate. Then, used tongs to grab the chicken breast, setting it beside her noodles. Chris tried very hard on this dinner tonight so he could only pray to the God's above that this meal would appease Jill. She was quite picky.

Chris grabbed his plate next, holding them both in opposite hands as he strolled out to the living room. Jill was sitting upright on the couch, showing she surprisingly didn't fall back asleep. When Jill was genuinely tired, she would instantly fall back into a rest if she woke up.

"Here baby." Chris said with a small grunt, placing the plate into Jill's lap. Jill had the cutest grin as she looked at the food. "Damn... Looks better than my own cooking." She admitted. "Gordon Ramsey has competition." Chris joked. Jill smiled at him and instantly ate a bite of the chicken.

Although, Chris did not expect that. He thought she'd wait a second but this girl wasted no time trying the food he cooked. Chris stared at her as she chewed the chicken, hoping she liked it. Jill slowly turned her head to Chris and couldn't help not containing her giggles. "It's great babe." She spoke with a laugh.

"You're a dork." Chris chortled.

For a couple minutes, they just ate in silence. You know it's good when that happens because most of the time, the two can't stop talking while eating. Chris looked over at Jill, admiring her.

Jill caught onto the fact Chris was staring at her and she felt a little embarrassed. Even though her and Chris had been married for a good bit now, he could still make her nervous and shy. He was so good at it too.

"What?" She said with a chuckle. "Nothing..." Chris smirked, slurping some of the noodles. Despite Jill questioning him, he didn't look away from her.

"Quit it." Jill said sternly, her voice sounding a bit shy. "What?" Chris said, acting surprised by her shouting. "Why are you staring at me?" She giggled. "Can I not look at my own wife?" "No, you can't." She snorted and Chris just put his hands up, "My bad." He grinned, going back to munching on his plate of food.

Soon, they both finished their dinner. Jill went to grab Chris's plate, wanting to go catch up on doing some dishes but Chris gripped her wrist. Not in an aggressive way, of course, just enough to get the obvious point across. That point being that he wanted to take of the plates.

"Baby.." Jill said with vexation. "Jill, quit trying to do everything. For just today, yeah?" Chris said oppressively. Jill threw her head back and groaned out, clearly upset, she just wanted to help. "Fine. You're lucky I love you." She said annoyed.

Chris laughed in victory, grabbing the two plates off the coffee table.

Following behind Chris, Jill beamed to herself. As much as she acted like she wanted to help, she wanted Chris to do the work. Well not always, but right now, she really was in acceptance of his sudden want for taking care of things.

Jill sat at the counter, lounging on the barstool. She watched as Chris cleansed the dishes. The sound of the sink pouring water out of its spout was oddly peaceful. That peaceful noise, although, was stopped when Chris turned it off, twisting the nozzle. Chris turned around to face Jill, his hands resting on the counter directly behind him.

"Come here." Chris said in a lovey tone. Jills eyebrows scrunched but she obeyed. She stepped over to him, looking up into his eyes. He was a bit taller than her but secretly, they both favored it that way.

"Yes?" She said, trying not the laugh. Not that the situation was awkward but Jill didn't quite grasp why Chris told her to come to him.

Chris sighed softly and placed his two rough feeling hands along both of her cheeks, turning her face a bit more upwards.

Leaning down, Chris placed his chapped lips onto Jill's softer lips. The feeling was exlierating. Chris breathed out cooly, clearly feeling safe next to her. Jill placed her gentle hands on the back of his head, pulling him a bit closer as they kissed one another.

They both pulled away after a minute or so and just relished in the sight of stating at each other.

"Not to ruin this special moment but uh... Go put on chapstick." Jill bit her lip, trying not to giggle. Chris rolled his eyes and placed his hands on her waist, squeezing a bit. "You just think you're so funny, huh?" Chris spoke in a deeper voice. "The funniest around." Jill replied. Chris snickered.

"I love you." Chris said lovingly. "And I love you." Jill replied, caressing the side of his face with her thumb.
