Welcome back everyone! This time, our next Guest in the Hollow Night or GUESTS are Elise and Chante, the main heroines of the Doujin/Indie Action RPG Dungeon Crawler Game, Chantelise - A Tale of Two Sisters (Chantelise - Chante and Elise's Story in Japan).

While I haven't played the game, I have watched the story on YouTube and it is a shame the game was never released on consoles. As for the titular duo themselves, I liked this sister duo, especially whenever Chante (the elder sister who's been turned into a fairy) causes hijinks, but she shows a responsible side when Elise fell ill and had to team up with Elma, who she didn't get along with at the time, to find a cure for her. Elise is a capable younger sister as well as she's able to swing the great sword around her like it's nothing in spite of her having to deal with her big, yet small, sisters antics/pranks.

Part of the reason I chose them is to include a character (or characters in the sisters case) from a Doujin Game as Akatsuki Blitzkampf, the game Akatsuki is from, is a Doujin Game and while I am aware that Fate/stay night is a Doujin Game, I mainly focused on it being a Type-Moon IP like Melty Blood.

Lastly, this will take place after Chantelise's main story, but the curse that made Chante a fairy hasn't been lifted/fully broken yet as the 'Years Later Epilogue' has not happened yet, so expect some spoilers. Also, this will KIND OF a long chapter due to the unique moveset and victory quote dialogue for the sisterly duo.

Character Appearance (Elise): Elise wears an orange hoodie coat with the ruffles, collar and hoodie itself being a cream color with red lining, a red skirt, long stockings and red shoes. Elise also wears a silver breastplate over her jacket and wears two oversized belts around her waist.

Character Appearance (Chante): Chante wears an outfit made for her small stature. She wears a green crop top that is held by a button, detached sleeves that are each held by two stones (one red and one blue), a three way green skirt held together by two buttons and a small belt. Lastly, Chante wears knee high socks and square toed shoes.

Animations

Intro 1: Elise and Chante both stretch their arms back and as soon as they finish, Elise picks up her planted sword and gets into her fighting stance while Chante points her fist at the opponent with confidence.

Intro 2: Elise runs onto the screen to her starting position while Chante flies in from the opponents side and the two sisters share an affirming nod and smile before getting into their fighting stance.

Vs. Byakuya: Chante angrily calls out Tsukuyomi's "cowerdice" of hiding behind Byakuya while Elise tries to calm her older sister with Tsukuyomi paying no mind as Byakuya readies himself.

Round Loss: Elise sits up holding her head while Chante floats next to her to check up on her or to encourage her to get back in the fight.

Match Loss: A worried Chante hurriedly flies over to the downed Elise and lands near her, shouting Elise's name twice before lowering her head in sorrow at her sister's defeat.

Time Over Loss: Elise falls to one knee while keeping her hands on her sword while Chante flies to the ground and lies on her back, exhausted.

Round Victory: Elise plants her sword and breathes a sigh of relief while Chante laughs confidently.

Vs. Linne: Chante: "So that little critter with you is supposed to be a dragon? Then how come he's not helping you out!? You don't see see my sister doing ALL the work!" Elise: "Chante... maybe he can't fight. Perhaps he's just following his owner. Still, why is there a little girl running around with swords and knives?"

Vs. Carmine: Chante: "Holy mackerel...! All that blood was... was just...! *Shudders*" Elise: "Not to mention how bloodthirsty that man was! Hopefully the locals will detain this person soon..."

Vs. Orie: Elise: "Wow, she's so greacful and elegant! I wonder if I can be like that?" Chante: "Well, knowing you, you'll probably be all those things and more in no time!"

Vs. Gordeau: Chante: "Whoa! Who invited tall, dark and handsome here!?" Elise: "I'll admit, he's... something... *Ahem* Let's be thankful we weren't on the recieving end of that scythe."

Vs. Merkava: Elise: "While I'm thankful we didn't end up being eaten, I feel bad for attacking him..." Chante: "Normally, I'd say your overthinking things... but seeing this guy, you have a good point there..."

Vs. Vatista: Chante: "Sweet Heaven above! SHE'S! SO! SERIOUSLY! ADORABLE!" Elise: "I know! She looks like a mix between an angel and even a fairy! Maybe she can be our friend!"

Vs. Hilda: Chante: "Man, I never thought we'd meet an evil woman like her! Mind if I kick her shins Elise?" Elise: "Perhaps a little... No! It's best not to stoop to her level Chante. Just stopping her is enough."

Vs. Nanase: Elise: "That was some burst of wind! Almost kind of like with your wind magic!" Chante: "I'll admit, that girl's got talent! But MAYBE she shouldn't be doing all of that in a skirt... although, I shouldn't be saying that considering we wear skirts too..."

Vs. Byakuya (Elise Version): Elise: "I think it's commendable you're helping your older sister, but attacking other people isn't a good way to do that!" Chante: "Yeah! I mean, sure I threaten to kick peoples shins... but not with the intent to kill like you guys!"

Vs. Byakuya (Chante Version): Chante: "Oi, lady! You should probably take your brother home and make sure he gets his rest!" Elise: "You're not wrong... but now that I think about it and while I appreciate it, HOW do you manage to get me back to town whenever I pass out?"

Vs. Eltnum: Elise: "What an... interesting lady we met. Chante...?" Chante: "Ugh... that was some crazy talk right there. Thought my brain was going to burst..."

Vs. Akatsuki: Chante: "YOWZA! That lightning magic really hurt like heck!" Elise: "I don't think that was magic! Even so, his fighting ability was even more powerful than my sword! We managed to pull through somehow!"

Gordeau: "The old double team tactic? You face me head on while your little friend shoots me with spells. Not bad. Sister? Hmmm... I think I see the resemblance now that I'm looking at her."

Merkava: "Interesting... to think a mythical creature like a fairy exists. The beast is curious to see how you'll taste... but I doubt a small creature like you will satiate this unending hunger..."

Vatista: "You say this human is your younger sister. I find it to be rather implausible due to your height difference and your species. On that note, might I suggest alternatives than kicking people in thei shins?"

Hilda: "AGH! You dare kick me in the shins!? I'll make sure to pluck your wings and make you die slowly while your precious sister watches! And then, I'll send her off to the afterlife as well!"

Nanase: "Wow! Your fairy is so cute and feisty! She's great with magic as well and you're not too bad with a sword yourself. I have to ask though, what's it like to have a fairy as a sister?"

Byakuya: "Hey... are you really the big sister here? If you are, then you'd do everything in your power to make sure you protect her. I make sure my sister is safe from thise who seek her harm after all."

Byakuya (Alternate): "Despite your different personalities, the two of you are in sinc and clearly love each other dearly. Byakuya leave them be... and as for you two... leave and never come back into the Night..."

Eltnum: "What an unsual pair to meet this Night... now that I see you two, I'm wondering if you have any connection with Recette Lemongrass and Tear? They're another human and fairy duo like you two are."

Akatsuki: "A swordswoman and a spellcasting fairy who are actually sisters...? I apologize... I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. Onto the other topic, how did this curse happen exactly?"

Super Attacks

EXS Attack - Crystal Slash: Using one of Chante's Magic Stack Stones, Elise will perform a powerful overhead slash with a different effect depending on the Stone used;

● Fire/Red: Darkness Slash - Heals 20% Heath upon successfully hitting the opponent.

● Water/Blue: Void Slash - Restricts the opponents EXS and Force Function meters and keeps Elise from being counter-hit for ten seconds.

● Wind/Green: Paralysis Slash - Stuns the opponent for three seconds.

● Earth/Yellow: Poison Slash - Poisons the opponent for 10 seconds, dealing gradual damage over time. The effect wears off omce the ten seconds eclipse or Elise is hit.

Infinite Worth - Magic Blast: Chante charges up a sphere of Fairy Dust in front of Elise, who then swings her sword like a Baseball Bat, launching it at the opponent.

Infinite Worth EXS - Fairy Blade: Once the Flash Field connects, Elise knocks the opponent into the sky before Chante lands on Elise's sword. Elise then throws her sword with Chante enveloping the blade as it becomes a shining green light that hits the opponent. It cuts away to the city's skyline where the explosion is seen. The opponent then falls back to the ground while Chante, coughing from the smoke, flies back down and hands Elise her sword back.

Unique Traits

Jumpstep: Elise's Force Function allows Elise to do a short hop toward or away from her opponent, allowing her to dodge projectiles

Chante: Similar to Kuu (Linne's dragon), Elise's older sister, the fairy Chante will follow Elise and assits her using the Magic Stack system. Chante will not be attacked regardless of her position on the screen, however unlike Kuu, if Elise gets attacked during the 'Spell Cast' Special, Chante will fire off the Lv1 Spell (regardless of the Spell Charge) in a fright and will be stunned (shown by swirly eyes and stars around Chante's head) for a five seconds before she is active again.

Magic Stack: Above the EXS Meter, there are six slots above it. These are Magic Stones that accumulate every time you use the Special Move, 'Magic Stone Pickup'. Depending on which button you push during the command, you pick up a different colored Magic Stone (Light = Fire/Red, Medium = Water/Blue, Strong = Wind/Green and EXS Action = Earth/Yellow). When you activate the 'Spell Cast' Special, simply inputting the command will fire off one stone, but holding the button down will use up to three stones. If they are the same color, it will improve the attack, but different colored stones will add additional properties to the spell (Red adds Increased Power, Blue adds Status Effects, Green adds an extra projectile/effect and Yellow adds Piercing/Bounce affects). Below are a list of Magic Stone abilities when you use a stone of each color from Level 1 to Level 3;

Fire/Red:

● Lv1. Fireball - A straight moving Fireball.

● Lv2. Clusterbomb - A straight moving fireball that explodes upon contact.

● Lv3. Fire Wall - Creates a ring of fire around the opponent, dealing slight damage for a few seconds.

Water/Blue:

● Lv1. Aqua Splash - Fires a homing missle at the opponent

● Lv2. Icicle Edge - Fires a straight traveling ice shard, dealing damage and freezing the opponent briefly.

● Lv3. Heal - Restores 15% of Elise's HP. Effect lessens with each use per round.

Wind/Green

● Lv1. Thunder Ball - Fires a ball of lightning in a straight line.

● Lv2. Blitz - Shoots out a short-range semi-wide lightning based attack.

● Lv3. Tornado - Creates an unblockable tornado that can stuck in the opponent, dealing heavy damage if the oppon gets caught. The tornado stays out for three seconds.

Earth/Yellow

● Lv1. Hammerball - A metal ball floats around Elise, dealing extra damage when close to the opponent. It disappears after a few hits.

● Lv2. Super Armor - Increases physical defence, negates any knockback the Elise would usually experience when taking damage and prevents some status effects.

● Lv3. Meteor Impact - Creates a meteor that falls straight down from the sky to where the opponent is standing. It takes four seconds for the meteor to arrive. Even if the opponent dodges, the Meteor explodes and can still deal AoE damage from the blast.

Chip Damage: All of Elise' attacks and special attacks along with Chante's magic will cause chip damage to the opponent like with Hyde's sword.

Hilda Arcade Story Interaction

*Hilda wanders into a new location where she sees a rather unsual sight... a young girl with a greatsword and a floating girl who is small and has wings*

Elise: "Um, excuse me?"

Hilda: "Well... now I have seen everything."

Elise: "I was wondering if you can help us, we're searching for a way home and to do that, we need to pursue a Witch known as Paradox. Have you seen her?"

Hilda: "I have been called Witch quite a lot, and needless to say I do NOT enjoy that whatsoever."

Chante: "What the crap!? You mean you're that crazy lady that's been causing trouble around these parts!?"

Hilda: "Me, crazy? Says the little runt in front me."

Chante: "You did NOT just go there! I'll have you know that I'm like this due to a curse that was put on me!"

Hilda: "Curse? So you don't normally look like that? What exactly are you?"

Chante: "Righttttt... Fairies don't exist in this place..."

Hilda: "A Fairy? Ah, that explains your small size and the wings! But to think they're this feisty!"

"Now, why are you two pursuing me?"

Elise: "Well, we heard that you were causing trouble while me and Chante were trying to find a way home..."

"And while getting home is important, we can't turn a blind eye away from you causing harm either!"

Chante: "So you got two ways we can handle this... 1. You surrender, send us ho,e and give up your villainous ways..."

"Or 2. Me and my little sister will BEAT you up with her sword, my magic and end it with me KICKING YOUR EVIL SHINS IN!"

"So, what's your choice?"

Hilda: "..."

"God, you're loud..."

"Furthermore, you're saying you two are related and you can use magic?"

"Well, I can't exactly turn a blind eye to you two now. Your not In-Births, but you both will turn out to be a big problem if I don't kill you now. No hard feelings."

Chante: "Seems we're doing this the hard way."

Elise: "I had a feeling she was going to attack regardless, although I hope it wouldn't have come to this."

"Let's go Chante!"

Chante: "Yeah! If we can defeat the Arch-Devil, then this psychopath will be easy!"

*The scene transitions to the fight*

Elise & Chante Arcade Story

Prologue [Location: Shopping Mall]

*Elise slowly comes too after a strange event occured, much to the young girl's confusion*

Elise: "Uhhnnn... w-where am I...? What is this place...?"

*Then a small figure with translucent wings comes up to Elise. This person is Elise's older sister, Chante*

Chante: "Hey, Elise! Finally, you're awake! Are you okay!?"

Elise: "Oh, Chante! Y-yes, I think so... what happened?"

Chante: "Oh boy, where do I even begin? We were checking out some new type of ruins along with Elma moments ago trying to find a way to undo our curse..."

"Then we find some werid mural showing some giant door and the moment we and Elma got near... it blasted us away while it began sucked you in! I came in right after you when that happened and I found you passed out here."

Elise: "That's right! That strange mural glowed when you and Miss Elma got near it! That didn't happen before..."

"Wait, where is Miss Elma?"

Chante: "I think I heard her call out for me when I flew into the mural to save you... I guess she didn't follow us..."

Elise: "I hope she's okay, but I'm happy you came for me."

Chante: "Hey, I'm your big sister. I'm here to make sure nothing happens to you!"

"Although, I do wish Elma came here to explain what's going on because I have no idea where we are."

Elise: "That's a good question... there doesn't seem to be a way back the way we came."

Chante: "Guess we can poke around and see what we can dig up at least. It's better than standing around doing nothing."

Elise: "Right. But let's be careful. We don't know what kind of monsters there are around here."

Chante: "Come on, sis! We fought off giant monsters and defeated an Arch-Devil! Sure, Elma and Aira helped us out with that last one, but still! We'll be fine!"

Elise: "Right! You never lied to me before."

"Now, where do we go now...?"

Chante: "Good point... Helllooooo? Anyone here?"

*Elise & Chante leave the area as the 1st Stage, with the first Pre-Set Opponent, loads up*

Stage 1

Vs. Nanase [Location: Silent Park]

*Elise & Chante eventually find themselves at a park in this strange looking "town"*

Chante: "Well, this is certainly an unsual city. This is definitely NOT where we came from."

Elise: "You can say that again. Maybe someone can tell us?"

*Then a girl with pigtails comes walking around*

Chante: "Hey, maybe she can help? HEY, YOU! HELLO!?"

Nanase: "Huh!?"

"Who... or what... are you...?"

Elise: "Chante, you shouldn't be yelling right now! Besides, it appears to be night time now that I'm seeing it."

Chante: "Ack! Ah crap, you're right... my bad."

Nanase: "Um... excuse me? What's going on here?"

Elise: "We're just being mindful about about the people sleeping here."

Nanase: "Not that your wrong, but you do realize this is the Hollow Night, right? Normal people can't step into this place..."

Chante: "Hollow Night? What is that, some weird celebration or something?"

Nanase: "No! It's a place where people with super powers called In-Births come and fight each other for one reason or another. For a couple of fellow In-Births, you two are really not in the know how."

Elise & Chante: "..."

Elise: "I... think I got some of that... but we're not these In-Birth people."

Nanase: "Huh? If you're not In-Births, then who are you, especially the small one here."

Chante: "We're humans. Name's Chante and this is my little sister Elise."

Elise: "Pleasure to meet you Miss...?"

Nanase: "My name's Nanase. Wait a moment... you say you're human, but your not and you say you're the older sister, but your not. How does that work...?"

Chante: "It's because of this curse me and a friend of ours got hit with. We thought we removed it, but we're still trying to undo it."

Nanase: "Curse...?"

"*GASP* I bet Hyde Kido did this to you, didn't he!?"

"Not only did he defile me, but he's turning innocent maidens into tiny faory people too!? How dare he!?"

Elise: "Um, Miss Nanase...?"

Chante: "I think we're missing something here... I appreciate you clearing up where we are and all, but who's Hyde? And what are you going on about?"

Nanase: "Where is that monster!? I bet he's brainwashed you two into becoming his minions! That would explain why you don't know about the Hollow Night! I'll just have to knock some sense into you than!"

Chante: "Bwuh!? Hey!"

Elise: "Please listen to us! We're not-!"

Chante: "She's not listening! We're gonna have to fight! Hope a kick in the shins will make her stop!

Nanase: "..."

"SHIN KICKING!? YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR WITH THESE GIRLS, HYDE KIDO!"

*The scene transitions to the fight*

Stage 3

Vs. Linne [Location: Cathedral of Far East]

*Elise & Chante arrive at a cathedral to catch their barrings on the scenario they found themselves in*

Elise: "Whew! I... I think we should be safe for moment."

Chante: "Well that went south quick! Not just that Nanase brat, but we got jumped by another jerk too! Can this day... scratch that, night get any worse!?"

Elma: "H y..! Cha t ... Eli... Ca... y o... h...r... e...!"

Elise: "Chante! Did you hear that?"

Chante: "Yeah... that sounded like Elma..."

Elma: "Voi e... ca 't... reac... get... to... diffe... spot...!"

Chante: "Bwuh? Hey shrimpy, wait!"

"Andddddd she's gone quiet... what was that about?"

Elise: "I think we need to find a better spot for her voice to reach us. I think she might help us get out of this mess."

Chante: "Well, Elma knows her way around these type of this, I got to admit. Alright, let's get moving!"

*Suddenly, a little girl appears before the two sisters*

Linne: "Well, this just more interesting..."

Elise: "A little girl...?"

Chante: "Hold up Elise! What if she's another one of those In-Births that jumped us!?"

Elise: "Chanteeee..."

Linne: "You're little friend isn't far off. The fact you two aren't In-Births raises a few bells... that and the strange voice that you both know about tells me you both aren't from around here."

Elise: "Oh, I didn't realize you were one..."

"But we're not looking for a fight!"

Linne: "That all depends on a few things, like where you two are from and what that voice was..."

Chante: "Why should we tell you? You're just gonna attack us for one reason or another like that Nanase girl earlier!"

Linne: "I see... so you're the ones who defeated the Windmill? That shows you two are strong for anomalies."

Elise: "Chante, calm down. Please Miss, me and my sister are just trying to get back home and the voice we heard is our friend trying to help us."

Linne: "I don't know how that little creature is your sister, but you confirmed that your from another world. I'm afraid I can't let you both walk free."

Elise: "What!?"

Chante: "YEAH WHAT!? We didn't do anything wrong here!"

Linne: "You both are powerful despite not being In-Births and you two are siblings despite one being what I believe to be a fairy. That's incredibly suspicious. Now, you two be good little girls and surrender peacefully..."

Chante: "Alright, listen you little brat! I may look like this now due to the curse... but I'll have you know that I'm actually the sexiest woman from our world!"

Linne: "..."

"Do you expect me to believe that?"

Elise: (To herself) 'This reminds me of when we encountered Elma the first time... I at least think it was Elma if what Chante told me when my memory got fuzzy...'

Chante: "Come on Elise! We can't let this runt boss us around!"

Elise: "But, I'm not too sure about fighting a chil- wait is she drawing a knife and sword on us!?"

Linne: "So you two won't listen. Guess I'll just have to snip your wings and bind the girl with you then."

Chante: "Hey, you're not doing anything weird to my sister or cutting my wings off! It's time to discipline you!"

Elise: "I didn't want to fight, but if you're going to harm us, we have a right to defend ourselves! I'm sorry if this hurts!"

*The scene transitions to the fight*

Stage 6

Vs. Hilda [Location: Cafeteria of Movies]

*The sisters walk into a cafeteria hoping to hear Elma's voice*

Chante: "Man... this is getting exhausting... we never had to fight multiple people like this before..."

Elise: "We really don't fight people this much at all. Hopefully Elma can reach us now."

Elma: "Chante! Elise! Can you both hear me!?"

Elise: "Elma! Yes, we can hear you loud and clear!"

Chante: "Boy, I am glad to hear your voice shrimp!"

Elma: "I'm just glad I manage to find you! Not in the traditional sense at least, but still."

Chante: "Sooooo... you're not gonna chew me out for diving after Elise recklessly?"

Elma: "Normally I would, but it's a good thing you ARE with her. You two would be in trouble if you both were separated, remember?"

Chante & Elise: "Oh, right..."

Elma: "Anyway, that mural we saw apparently has the power to transport people to a world known as the Hollow Night based off of what I'm reading after you vanished."

Chante: "Yeahhhh... we have been fightn' off the locals here and let's just say they're pretty tough. Curiously, we've been doing well sense Magic Stone keep popping up despite there being no monsters for us to whoop."

Elma: "It must be to this thing called EXS. Tell me this, do you feel more energized with Fairy Dust?"

Chante: "Now that you mention it... I do."

Elma: "I think I might have a plan to get you both out of that world, but you must find something called the Gate to the Abyss first. I'll study more of this in the meantime."

Chante: "Wait! Where do we find this gate!?"

Elise: "I guess we have to find it somehow. We better get going...

*Suddenly, a woman appears before them with an intent of harming the two sisters*

Hilda: "Oh? I'm afriad you two won't be finding anything tonight."

Elise: "Who are you?"

Hilda: "The owner of the Gate to the Abyss and leader of Amnesia, Hilda the Paradox!"

Chante: "What? You lead a group of people with memory loss?"

Hilda: "No! We're a group of In-Births trying to reign over the Hollow Night! I heard that random voice talking to you both and no, you're not touching my ticket to immortality!"

Chante: "Immortality? Why would you want that?"

Elise: "If she doesn't want us finding it, I guess she intends to cause trouble to innocent people."

Hilda: "Not to random people, but to Night Blade and the Licht Kries. Sorry my two little ladies, but it's time for you both to die."

Elise: "No! We have people we care about to come home too, so we're not going to die here!"

Chante: "That's right! And if you're gonna go around being a stereotypical villain hurting innocent people, you deserve to get both of your shins caved in REAL GOOD!"

Hilda: "Oh really? I'll be the one to cave both of you in! I can't wait to hear that voice' cries of agony when you are both squashed!"

*The scene transitions to the fight*

Stage 9

Vs. Akatsuki [Location: Riverside Plaza]

*Elise & Chante managed to get to the riverside when they are searching for the Gate to the Abyss*

Chante: "Well, so far we haven't found the Gate... but on the bright side, we can take pride that we kicked that rotten lady's keister in and foiled her plans."

Elise: "You're right about that. I don't understand the appeal of living forever, being unable to die. At least innocent people won't be harmed by Hilda's schemes."

Elma: "Well, at least we can use the Gate for a more beneficial purpose at least."

Chante: "Elma!"

Elise: "Wait, you heard all of that?"

Elma: "Pretty hard not too. At least Miss Egomaniac's been stopped for the moment. On the other hand, there's a way to return home. In order to do it, you must destroy the Gate to the Abyss. Once you do that, you'll COMPLETELY foil Paradox's plot and it should send you back home, at least in theory."

Chante: "Not again with the in theory thing... need I remind you we're BOTH still faires?"

Elise: "We'll worry about that ONCE we're home, Chante. Elma, do you know where the Gate is?"

Elma: "It's not that far, you should find it in a specific building. Although, I do believe Chante should be able to sense it IF she focuses enough."

Chante: "Well... it's worth a shot. Just gimme a momen-"

*Before Chante can try to find the gate, a mysterious man appears before them*

Akatsuki: "Excuse me, young lady?"

Elise: "Huh?"

Chante: "Whoisit!?"

Elma: (To herself) 'Better stay quiet and let them figure it out. At least this guy doesn't sound like trouble..."

Elise: "Um, can I help you?"

Akatsuki: "Yes you can. While it is true I'm trying to find a way out of the city, I saw the two of you and for reasons I can't explain, I felt some sort of... kinship with you both."

Chante: "Wait? You're not one of those In-Birth guys?"

Akatsuki: "So that is what those people with super powers have are called? No, I am an Imperial Soldier. My name is Akatsuki."

"I saw you two speaking with each other and somehow, I can tell one of you is a skilled swordsmen and sense the other is a magical creature, you must be skilled with magic."

Chante: "Well, I'll be darned, you got all that just by lookin' at us!"

Elise: "You flatter me, but I'm not THAT skilled. And I'm technically a swordsmaiden."

Akatsuki: "I have a keen eye for skilled fighters. If it's not too much trouble, mind if I ask you for to engage in a mock battle?"

Elise: "Wait... you want us to fight you?"

Akatsuki: "Indeed. It can serve as good training to all three of us. I'm even more than willing to fight you both at once."

Elise: "I don't think we should..."

Chante: "Huh? I kind of like this guy! Sure, let's do it!"

Elise: "Chante! He's not trying to harm us!"

Chante: "Hey Elise, it's cool! Besides, it'll be nice to have a friendly fight for once and NOT fight in a life or death situation."

Elise: "O-okay. But let's not take too long."

Akatsuki: "So, you accept my invitation? Excellent, but might I ask your names before we begin?"

Chante: "I'm Chante and this is my baby sister, Elise!"

Elise: "A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Akatsuki."

Akatsuki: "Sisters? While I'm curious about that, I won't question it. Come! Show what you both can do!"

Elise: "I'll do my my best!"

Chante: "Ready when you are!"

*The scene transitions to the fight*

Final Stage

Vs. Hyde [Location: Altar of Light and Dark]

*After parting ways with Akatsuki on a good note, the two sisters managed to locate the Gate in question*

Chante: "So this is the Gate thingy? I'm getting chills from BOTH this thing and focusing on it with this EXS stuff floatin around..."

Elise: "It definitely looks like it? Elma? Is this it?

"...Elma...?"

Chante: "Aw that's just great! Don't tell me this THING is blocking her out!?"

Elise: "If that's the case, this is bad timing..."

Chante: "Well to hell with this! We'll just have to take a whack at it and break this thing to pieces!"

Elise: "Well, considering that it's the only way home, I'm with you!"

*Before the sisters could do anything, a young man rushes in and steps in*

Hyde: "Hold it right there!"

Chante: "Bwuh!? WHAT NOW!?"

Hyde: "Well, this thing's dangerous first of all! You two must be the girls Linne mentioned earlier, the sisters where one's a fairy? Chante and Elise, right? That's what Linne said your names are."

Chante: "Aw man, don't tell me your friends with that short stack who tried to attack us?"

Hyde: "I am and quite frankly, I apologize if she was rough with you two."

Elise: "Rough is putting it lightly. And besides, we need to destroy this gate in order to go home Mister...?"

Hyde: "I'm Hyde Kido. I know your names, so it's only fair you know mine."

Elise & Chante: "..."

Chante: "Wait a moment! You said your name's Hyde!? You're the reason we had to deal with Nanase's horsecrap earlier!"

Hyde: "Uh, what?"

Elise: "Calm down Chante, he might not even know her! Besides, that isn't important right now!"

"Mr. Hyde, just let us do what we need too."

Hyde: "Look, I can handle destroying this Gate, you two just need to stand back away from there."

"Also... I figured I might get some payback on you two for Linne. I'm happy she's okay, but was kicking her in the leg really needed!?"

Elise: "Chante...?"

Chante: "Well, she AND Hilda deserved the shin kicking!"

Hyde: "Wait, you actually kicked Paradox's ass!? That's... pretty impressive. Granted, you being a fairy is also cool and... pretty cute as well."

"Anyway, I can't let that insult to Linne slide. So, I'm gonna wipe the floor with you two first before I smash this gate."

Elise: "What do we do Chante? It's good whether we or Hyde destroys the Gate, but I don't like the idea of him "wiping" the floor with us."

Chante: "Well, we fight back of course! I'll admit, he's MUCH better then the girl In-Births here, but if he's picking a fight, I'm not backing down."

Elise: "Right. Sorry Mr. Hyde, but we're going home in one piece!"

Hyde: "No problem! It really wouldn't be a grudge match and wouldn't feel right if you girls didn't put up a fight to begin with. You ready?"

*The scene transitions to the final fight*

Aftermath

[Location: Altar of Light and Dark]

*The two sisters stand triumphant over Hyde*

Hyde: "Aw geez! I didn't think I'd be fighting both of you at once!"

Chante: "Well, the bond I have with my sister is pretty well tight!"

Elise: "I couldn't agree more Chante."

"Anyway, it's time for us to leave now. Sorry we got rough Mr. Hyde"

*The two sisters face the Gate*

Hyde: "Wait a moment! Normal people shouldn't go near that!"

Chante: "Care to do the honors Elise!"

Elise: "Sure thing! HYAHHHHHHHH!"

*The screen turns white as Shizuo destroys the Gate to the Abyss, ending the Hollow Night. When it clears up, Hyde sees the two sisters are gone*

Hyde: "They vanished? Guess they really did get sent home after all. But... how I am gonna explain this to Linne?"

"Well, sense she wanted to capture them, what Linne doesn't know won't hurt her."

"Chante and Elise... see you two later..."

Ending

[Location: Ruins]

*The sisters find themselves coming out through the Mural like the surface of the water as the two land safely*

Chante: "Hey, is this?"

Elise: "It is! It's the ruins we were in! We're home!"

*Then another fairy appears before them. She has pink hair and purple clothes. This person being Elma*

Elma: "I had faith you two would get back home no problem."

Elise: "Elma! It's good to see you!"

Chante: "Same here. If it weren't for your know how with this rock, we'd be stuck in that bizarro world!"

Elma: "Hence why I didn't charge in after you... believe me, I was tempted."

"Besides, Elise couldn't fight without you, so you going after her in was necessary."

Chante: "Well, an older sister has to look out for the young'uns after all!"

Elise: "Still, what I don't get is why it sent us to that place. I know it reacted when you both touched it..."

Elma: "My guess is that the power in that world, EXS, must have reacted to our fairy dust. As a result, it must have opened up some kind of portal..."

"Thankfully, after looking over this, this Gate must have been the key to this whole mess."

Elise: "Hopefully, everything will calm down there now. But we still haven't found a clue to returning you and Chante to normal."

Chante: "It's cool, Elise. Yeah, we didn't find anything, but at least we got another adventure to tell Aira about!"

Elma: "You could at least take this seriously, but in the end, what matters is we're all here again."

*The scene cuts to Chante, Elise and Elma having dinner with Elma's older sister, Aira, as Chante recounts her and Elise's journey in the Hollow Night*

Chante: "Then we fought this crazy lady called Paradox just as Elma told us what we need to do!"

Aira: "My! That sounded like such an adventure!"

Elma: "You don't need to make it sound so grand! Adn we're having dinner, you can afford to lower you voice."

Chante: "I conside the part with Paradox to be the best part as the two after are not life threatening in the least!"

Elma: "Well, I couldn't hear the end bit, so I'll humor you a little..."

Aira: "So, what happened next after Paradox?"

Elise: *Giggles*

(To herself) 'Chante, one day you will become human again. I swear this to you.'

'No matter what, we'll always be together. Isn't that right sis?'

*The credits roll as "Complication" plays*

With that, the untold tale of two sisters reaches it's book end.

While I wish I could play Chantelise, I did enjoy the story. Chante and Elise are very enjoyable characters as well in addition to their bond as sisters. Even when they get on eachs other's nerves, they truly look out and love each other as siblings should. I recommend playing the game if you have Steam or watching a Let's Play on YouTube when you get the chance.
