Soundwave

I was walking put of the Cave of the Oracle after a fruitless conversation. Annabeth had brought me to see her in case she or Ella, the harpy that memorized several lost texts, knew anything about the Dreamer. They knew nothing about them, yet still tried to help me.

The only thing of note was a strange silver breastplate. It looked more Medieval European than Roman or Greek. Neither camp used silver, and the symbol was foreign. The breastplate also looked too new to be part of the scattered armor and weapons in the cave. Everything else was rusted and/or broken, yet the silver breastplate looked as if it was brand new.

We got up to leave the cave, taking the breastplate Annabeth and Rachel held the curtains open for me so I could exit. When I walked through the cave opening, however, something strange happened.

I ended up in this strange dimension. I thought it might have been the undead dimension at first, however it seemed vastly different. This dimension was a pitch black void. It looked like there wasn't a floor, yet I was standing on something. I walked, and it continued. Weirdly, a white glow surrounded my feet.

There was nothing in sight, except for a single tree. Strangely, the tree had scarlet leaves and a red-tinted trunk. It looked like it was planted in the ground, but there was nothing under it. Just the same, invisible floor. The tree had no fruit, and there wasn't anything near it.

I walked around, trying to find something. Anything. Yet, I found nothing. All I found were more scarlet trees, or so I thought. The leaves were all in exactly the same spot, the branches made the same shapes, and the bark always had the same pattern. It was just the same tree, over and over again. It was like I couldn't get away from it no matter where I walked.

A strange voice called, "Don't try to walk away. The Tree is the only thing in this dimension that exists, besides you and me."

I whirled around to where the noise was coming from. It was coming from where the Tree was, yet it stated that the Tree was separate from itself. I wondered how I could have missed someone there.

"Dude. I'm behind the Tree."

I finally took a good look at the Tree, and I realized I always saw it from the same side. I never bothered to look behind it, as I believed nothing was there. I was wrong.

I looked behind the Tree, and saw a teenager leaning against it, arms crossed. I had no idea what gender they were. They simultaneously looked masculine and feminine. Their face looked ageless, yet they seemed like a teen.

They had messy, brown hair, at a length slightly shorter than shoulder-length. They had slight, messy bangs that cast a small shadow over their eyes. Strangely, they had red eyes that seemed to glow. Their nose was small and pointy, their chin rounded and thin, their mouth placed in a blank expression.

They had a green hoodie with a brown hood and a horizontal, yellow stripe across the chest. They had brown sweatpants and brown sneakers. Their hands and the exposed part of their ankles were bandaged, with a rectangular bulge coming from their ankle.

They had tan skin, and they were thin. Yet, they didn't look weak. Their expression was blank, showing no emotion. Their eyes slightly darted up and down for a second before resting on my eyes, like they were sizing me up.

I decided to use the universal greeting.

"Bah-weep-Graaaaagnah wheep ni ni bong."

The teen responded, "Don't bother using the Universal Greeting. I'm Kris, or as you know me better as, the Dreamer."

'So this is the Dreamer.'

"Greetings, I am-"

"Soundwave, I know. I already know about you."

"Very well."

"By the way, do you have anything for me?"

I just remembered that the Former Prime told me to bring the Dreamer a sweet. I didn't have a sweet, but I had the breastplate.

"I have this silver breastplate."

I held put my hand, revealing the mint-condition breastplate. They looked at it with more interest than when they looked at me.

"Huh, so that's where that went."

"Pardon?"

"That's my breastplate. Here, give it."

I knelt down to give them the breastplate. When they got it, they rummaged around the interior of the breastplate before pulling out a chocolate bar. Then, they placed the breastplate into their pocket, which should have been impossible considering how big it was compared to how small their pocket was.

"Thanks for that. Anyways, the guy responsible for all of this wanted me to talk to you."

"I am aware that the Former Prime wanted me to speak with you.

"Yep. He wanted me to tell you to-"

Before Kris could finish, a familiar female voice yelped, "Where the Hades am I?!"

"Don't tell me... oh come on! Of course she's here too!" Kris complained.

"What the-" Annabeth started? "Wait, who are you, and where am I?!"

"Chill, you're fine. I'm Kris, and you're in a pocket dimension."

"What the Hades do you mean I'm in a pocket dimension?! How did I get here?!"

"Relax. Anyways, did you walk through a doorway or gateway over and over?" Kris asked.

"Yeah, I did. I walked through the entrance to a cave- how does that help?!"

They turned to me. "Soundwave. Did you walk through that same cave entrance when you got here?"

"Affirmative."

"Okay, so that explains it."

"Hold on," Annabeth questioned, "how does Soundwave and I walking through the same cave entrance explain anything?!"

"Well, it's how you got here."

"How did walking through a cave entrance get us here?!"

"Well, for me at least, walking through any doorway-like structure that is a Gateway has a small chance of sending me here. Anyways, a similar thing happened for you. Someone wanted Soundwave here, so made that cave entrance a Gateway to this dimension. The moment he walked through that door, after it was made a Gateway, it brought him here. You just so happened to walk through the Gateway over and over again, sending you here by accident."

"Well, who would do that?!" Annabeth shouted.

"The guy up there did. Anyways, can you stop shouting Why is she shouting?" Kris exasperatedly responded.

I explained, "This place reminds her of Tartarus, and she has horrible memories of that place."

"Damn it. Listen, Annabeth, was it?"

"Y-Yeah." she sputtered.

"Listen, this place is not Tartarus. Besides, nothing here can hurt you. It's just you guys and this Tree, nothing else. The only thing that can hurt you is your mind starting to decay from sensory deprivation. Got it?"

"I guess so..."

"Anyways, as I was saying, the guy who sent Soundwave to your world wanted me to tell him some things. By the way, did they really have to call me 'the Dreamer?'"

Annabeth questioned, "Wait, you're the Dreamer?"

"Not what I was asking, but yeah."

"Wow."

"Yeah, and they really need more creativity."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Well, my last name is Dreemurr, D-r-e-e-m-u-r-r. They just made it into the actually word, dreamer, and called me that. Again, they need more creativity."

I questioned, "You are the one who can lead me to the one who can make me sleep. Who are they?"

"Fitting you said 'they,' because you need four people to get to sleep."

"Who?" I asked.

"Well, me and Swatch need to make you a compatible body capable of sleeping. Obviously, you'd need Clovis, head of the Hypnos cabin, to get you into a specialized sleep for your memories. The last person you need is someone who can get your consciousness back and forth between the new body."

Annabeth questioned, "Who is that?"

Kris answered, "You need to find Leo Valdez."
