Chapter 3: Winter Games

One winter morning, Mew and her friends have been staying in a cabin during their journey. Soon, Mew, Misty, Brock, Tomo, and Jen walk out of the house.

"Who's got the list?" Brock asks.

"I do!" Misty answers.

"Looks like we got a lot to get," Tomo says.

"We sure di," Jen says.

Then Mew calls out, "Hey, Pikachu! Eevee!"

Pikachu soon runs over, "Pika?" (Yeah, Mew?)

"Eevee?" (What is it?) Eevee asks.

Soon, the other Pokemon begin to arrive.

"We're going into town to buy a couple of things. You two are in charge while we're gone, okay?" Mew says.

"Pika Pika!" (No problemo!) Pikachu says.

"Eevee Eevee," (Everyone is in good paws.) Eevee says.

Chikorita suddenly runs up.

"Keep an eye on Togepi and Pichu for me," Misty says.

"And Vulpix, you behave yourself, you hear?"

"Meloetta, Skwovet. Have fun," Tomo says.

"Amaura. Snubbull, you two behave now," Jen says.

"See you later!" Mew says, and closes the door.

Pikachu, Eevee, Togepi, Pichu, and Vulpix run to the window to watch their trainers leave and wish them farewell. Soon, Chikorita, Snubbul, and Psyduck approach the three, along with the other Pokemon. Eventually, they head to the window, and Bulbasaur accidentally knocks Chikorita into the wall as everyone else wishes their trainers goodbye.

But Pikachu notices something on the window, "Pika? Pikachu?" (What in? What is this?)

"Squirtle Squirt. (That's your breath.) Squirtle answers.

Both Squirtle and Bulbasaur breath on the window to fog it up a bit, and Squirtle places his face into the area where he breathed to leave a picture of him.

"Squirtle Squirtle! (Look here! It's me!) Squirtle says.

At Togepi and Pichu's request, Pikachu fogs up the window and leaves his face imprint in the area where he breathed

"Pika!" (Voila!) Pikachu says.

Everyone starts happily talking amongst themselves, while Chikorita's jealousy turns away.

Eevee soon spots her.

Eevee climbs down and approaches Chikortia, "Eevee, Eev Vee Eevee? (Hey there, want to join us Chikorita?)

But Chikorita turns snootily away.

"Vee Eevee?" (Is something wrong?) Eevee asks.

Chikorita turns to Eevee, but her leaf accidentally sends a slipper flying in the air and right onto Togepi's head, causing him to cry. Everyone tries to cheer Togepi up, but to no avail until Vulpix uses its tail to take care of it.

Chikortia feels bad for accidentally making Togepi cry.

Eevee says, "Eevee Eevee, Vee Evee. Eevee," (I know you didn't mean to, you just need to apologize. That's all."

However, Chikoria feels bad and runs outside through the backdoor. Everyone quickly follows.

Pikachu calls out, "Pika! Pika Pika!" (Hold on! Chikorita!)

Chikorita keeps running till she hits a giant icicle, prompting everyone to stop and laugh. Chikorita is not happy being laughed at.

"Pika Pika?" (Care to listen?) Pikachu says.

Pikachu taps an icicle, which makes a sound like an xylophone, prompting Squirtle to hit another to make the same sound

"Squirtle Squirtle. (Not too bad, there.) Squirtle comments.

Meloetta flies over to another icicle, "Mel Meloetta." (They play a nice musical sound.) and taps one for it to play music.

Snubbull says, "Snubbull." (I agree.)

Soon, some of the Pokemon begin to play with the icicle.

Then Pikachu has an idea, and says to Heracross, "Pika! Pikachu Pika. Pika. Pika Pika. (I know! Play them in harmony. Like this. Like a xylophone.)

"Heracross!" (No problem.) Heracross says and does just that.

Then Pikachu happily says, "Pika Pika!" (Let's make music!)

Soon, everyone joins in and plays more musical notes on the icicle xylophone, and everyone is having a lot of fun.

However, an annoyed Chikorita uses a Razor Leaf to cut one of the icicles off causing it to land in front of Squirtle, knocking him on his back. Chikorita laughs as she continues to cut down more icicles with Razor Leaf. One hits Geodude on the head, though he barely feels it. Chikorita, feeling proud of herself, runs off again.

"Pika!" (Hold up!) Pikachu calls out.

Chikorita soon runs past some of the rest of the group's Pokemon playing in the snow.

"Eevee!" (Chikorita!) Eevee calls out.

"Loetta!" (Come back) Meloetta calls out.

"Squirtle Squirtle?" (Where's she going?) Squirtle asks.

"Vulpix! ("I don't know!") Vulpix answers.

"Poli." ("She does not give up.) Poliwag says.

Everyone proceeds to chase after Chikorita, with Psyduck trailing behind

"Psy duck! ("I'm coming!") Psyduck calls out.

Pikachu continues to gain on Chikorita with everyone else on his tail.

"Pika! Pika Pika! Pika!" "Hold on! Chikorita! Please stop!) Pikachu calls out.

In the distance, Chikorita spots an ice rink and heads onto the ice. Pikachu comes to a stop, and sees the ice rink and Chikorita sliding away on it. Suddenly, everyone bumps right into Pikachu and falls down the steps while Pikachu slides right onto the ice.

"Piiiii!" (WOAH!") Pikachu screams.

Squirtle and Bulbasaur get up and watch Pikachu slide away and right toward Chikorita.

Pikachu cries out, "Pika!" (Look out!)

Pikachu slides right into Chikorita, but Chikorita stops them both by using its leaf.

Pikachu turns to Chikorita, "Pika Pika. Pika Pika. ("Good thing that's over. But that was fun.)

However, Chikorita snootily walks away.

"Pikachu." (What's with her?) Pikachu asks.

Eevee slides over and says, "Eevee Eevee Eevee." (I don't know, but that is one stubborn Chikoirta.)

Soon, everyone starts to ice skate. Bulbasaur, with Togepi riding on its back, and Squirtle soon stop near Pikachu and Togepi asks for a push

"Pika. Pika!" (Okay. You're off!) Pikachu says.

Togepi starts sliding down the rink and spins around.

Pichu turns to Eevee, "Pichu! Pichu!" (Me too! Me too!)

Eevee then uses her tail to give Pichu a push, and Pichu enjoys it.

"Squirtle Squirt!" (Look at that!) Squirtle says, amazed.

Squirtle hops onto his back, hoping someone will give him a push to go sliding as well

"Bulbasaur? Bulbasaur? ("Squirtle? You wanna slide?") Bulbasaur asks.

Squirtle tucks into his shell, giving Bulbsaur an answer.

Bulba. Bulbasaur!" (Okay. Here we go!) Bulbasaur says and sends Squirtle spinning.

Squirtle begins spinning around and sliding along the rink, knocking into some of the other Pokemon as he goes before running into Geodude, who barely felt the impact, and coming out of his shell completely dizzy and with a lump on his head.

Geodude dude laughs, "Geo dude! Geodude! (Blocked a goal! Brilliant!)

Amaura replies, "Amaura Amura." (That must have hurt.)

"Snubbull. Snub Snubbull," (I agree. Squirtle ended up with a nasty bump.) Snubbull replies.

Chikorita smiles at how much fun everyone's having.

But suddenly Chikortia hears a familiar voice, "Hey, that looks like a lot of fun! Ha!"

Chikortia looks up to see Meowth from Team Rocket.

"But you'll get hurt if you slip around like a bunch of banana peels. Now, watch! Meowth'll show you how it's done," Meowth says and begins walking down the stairs.

"Pika? ("Meowth?") Pikachu questions.

"Eevee Vee," (What's he doing here?) Eevee questions.

As the pair look at Meowth walking down the stairs. Togepi, still spinning around, bumps right into Pikachu.

(That was fun!) Togepi says.

"Pi Pi Pi" (Togepi.) Pikachu replies

"First, remain calm an in contro…" Meowth says as he steps on the ice.

But he quickly starts slipping until he lands on all fours, with claws extended, and starts sliding along the ice. Soon, his relief turns into shock as both he realizes he's going faster and can't stop and as Poliwag smooths the ice out in front of him like he was a shuffleboard puck, and soon, Chikorita starts smoothing out the ice, as well.

"I can't stop!" Meowth cries out.

Meowth slides far on ahead and finally stops when he hits a tree face first, causing all the snow to fall on top of him and prompting everyone to laugh.

Meowth sticks his head out of the snow and says, "I don't find that funny."

Snubbul walks over and rubs the bump on his head, "Snubbull?" (Are you okay?)

"I'm fine," Meowth says.

Soon, Meowth spots Vulpix smoothing the ice for Bulbasaur to slide.

"Oh yeah? I'll show you!" Meowth says, and decides to do some payback.

Meowth soon starts smoothing out the ice faster than Vulpix as Bulbasaur goes sliding as fast as we went and goes smack into a tree just like he did and gets a bunch of snow dumped on him just like he had.

Meowth laughs, "Now THAT'S funny!"

Amaura says, "Amura Amura." (Meowth, that's not very nice.)

"Skwovet Skwovet Skwovet." (Yeah, what goes around always comes back around!) Skwovet says.

"Your sayin' 'What goes around always comes back around'? That's only true for humans, not for Meowth," Meowth says and begins laughing.

Eevee mutters, "Eevee Eevee." (Meowth is about to eat his words.)

And Eevee is right.

Bulbasaur soon comes out of the snow and is very angry. He then wraps Meowth with his Vine Whip before spinning him around and around like a top back towards the rink, prompting Vulpix, Chikorita and Poliwag to smooth out the ice so he can go faster. Meowth does go faster, knocking into Squirtle and sending him sliding after he tucked into his shell, sending Pikachu and Togepi for a spin, bumping into Geodude before colliding with Squirtle and blasting off upon impact.

"Even without Team Rocket, I'm blasting off anyway," Meowth says and is blasted off.

Everyone begins laughing, save for a dazed Squirtle.

"Pikachu!" (That was fun!) Pikachu says.

Chikori!" (It sure was!) Chikorita agrees.

Soon, both Pokemon share a laugh with Togepi joining in. As evening comes, the Pokemon enjoy the rest of the day ice skating until their trainers return.

Soon, Mew calls out, "Hey! We're done shopping! You guys having fun?!"

"Pika Pi!" (Mew) Pikachu happily says.

Eevee happily says, "Eevee!" (Mew's back!)

"Chikori!" (Hi, Mew!) Chikorita says.

"Come on! Let's get back to the house!" Brock calls out.

Everyone soon returns to their trainers

"Looks like everybody got along just great," Tomo says.

"And they look like they had a lot of fun," Jen says.

"Be careful, Psy…" Misty says, but before she can finish, Psyduck trips, "Duck."

Chikorita, Eevee, and Pikachu happily leap towards their trainer with big smiles on their faces.
