Chapter 4 Black and White:Catching up
The group made their way back to the house after grabbing some spare clothing for each other. Once they were back at the house they unloaded their stuff upstairs. Sienna along with Colt were busy waiting for the teens while they talked.
Colt was preparing some tea for everyone in the kitchen while Sienna was sitting on a stool. The boxer grabbed a kettle and turned the faschut on as water pour into the pot. After a bit of time it soon filled and her turned the handle shutting it off. Then he placed it on the stove and joined the bengel faunus.
"You must really like tea"colt pointed out as he leaned his back against the counter behind him.
"Oh well it helps calm your nerves, plus its better than having coffee in the middle of the day. "Sienna replied as she crossed her arms on the table infront of her.
"Yeah, though when is your husband done with work?"Colt questioned
"Usaully he leaves and closes up shop late at night around midnight. Then he opens up the clinic at around eight in the morning. Though my daughter and her friend should be back in the evening"Sienne answered
As the two sat their in silence for a few minutes a whistling sound could be heard. The tea kettle steamed hot as a high pitch whistle came from it. Colt walked over removing the teapot from the stove then turned a dial turning it off.
After that he placed it on a tray and opened a jar next to him. It seemed to be tea leaves and he grabbed a few. Then he dropped them into the kettle and closed the lid. Then he grabbed a tray with enough cups for everyone. Then the two began making their way to the living room again.
"So your a heavyweight boxer from Vale if I recall you saying. Am I right?"Sienna asked as she took a seat in one of the chairs.
Colt chuckled a little"yes, a long time ago though I retired about six years ago. "Colt replied as he set the tray on the table.
The bengel faunus was a little interest it seems"really why that you seem pretty healthy at your age. Your physique for one, you look like your still in your late twenties"sienna complimented.
"Well what can I say I care about my health. Though I retired to run the gym, a good friend of mine ran. "Colt replied, smiling a little.
"Really, i'm guessing your gym allowed faunus their"sienna added with colt nodding.
"Yeah the previous owner Nadia…"colt said before taking a deep breath pushing a thought to the back of his mind. But sienna took notice of his pause but let him continue.
"She created that gym after she got enough lien from boxing and her huntress job. That girl wanted to create a place for all faunus and humans to treat each other with respect. Along with that help form bonds with each other"colt cotninued
Sienna seems to have heard of that name as it was on the tip of her tongue.
"Hmm she wouldn't be Nadia Walker wouldn't she?"sienna asked with colt nodding.
"Yes, nadia walker the savage huntress of remnant and—"colt begun before sienna stopped him mid sentenance
"And my partner when I went Beacon"sienna added with colt raising an eyebrow to this.
"You were a huntress?"he asked, surprised because the women didn't look like one.
Sienna gently nodded as she poured the kettle into a cup of tea. Then she grabbed a small plate and placed it on the small desk next to her. It clanked when it was placed on the desk.
"Yes me and that women with two others were on a team back in the day. If I recalled I was on a team with her another woman named Amber and another faunus if I recall"sienna replied. Then she looked over at the mantle above the fireplace.
Their on the fireplace was a picture of a younge Sienna with a familiar tiger faunus to the women. Along with that a woman with a dark skin complexion and another faunus who looked to be a polar bear. She was female with a pair of white polar bear ears on her head. With the word Team SAND on it.
Then Colt smiled a little at the picture because the four seemed to be getting along with each other. Though it must have been something for one human to on a team full of faunus.
"You know its funny she never talked about her team that much"colt said
"Well if I recalled me and her would always butt heads at times. I used to pick on the human in our group at times. Though that partner of her Diam would look out for her"sienna replied. They continued to discuss more it seems about the past.
As the two continued to talk upstairs the others were getting their rooms ready for their stay. They'll be staying here for a few weeks until they can head to menagerie to check on their family. They'll have to get comfty right now for this long stay.
In Blake and Bombay room the two were unpacking their clothes into the empty dressers. Blake placed her on the bed as Bombay opened two doors in one row. The left was hers while the right was Bombays. The two cstarted grabbing their clothes and placed them in the dresser. Though it took both of them a while since both were down with an arm.
Soon enough the two were done it seems but it took them a while to complete it.
"You know i'm really annoyed having to wear this sling"bombay groaned as she layed back on the bed flopping onto it.
Blake sighed because at least she had both her arms. Her she lost her right arm and she didn't even know what to do next. She wants to get a prosthetic but it scared that she isn't exactly readied for it.
"At least your not missing an arm"blake replied as Bombay turned her head on the bed looking at blake. She relzied she might have upset her fellow cat faunus and cursed in her head.
"Crap…sorry I didn't–"bombay begun but blake stopped her.
"No, it fine…i'll just have to get used to it. "Blake replied as she sat at the desk looked at her empty sleeve.
She wondered if her teammates would even treat her the same. After she revealed she was a faunus to them they welcomed her with open arms. Along with being part of the White Fang, it was reassuring to know they welcomed her despite her flaws.
Though if she wanted to find her teammates she need to be at full strength. Right now she'll keep thinking about it for now. But as she sat their bombay cleared her throat to get her attention. Blake turned to her fellow cat faunus.
"Yeah…is something wrong?"blake questioned as her eat twitched.
"No..nothing wrong just curious….how are we going to sleep?"bombay pointed out.
Blake relzied what she meant by that because the bed was big enough for both of them. But how exactly where they going to sleep. They could probably put a pillow in between them to stop them from kicking or hitting each other.
"Lets…figure that out later and go check on the others"blake suggested which the other cat faunus seemed to agree with. They headed downstairs to join the others.
Meanwhile in Onxyia and Neo room the wolf already finished putting her clothes away. But she was sitting on the bed deep in thought. She was thinking about if her brother and Akasha got out with the others.
Where exactly would they go, she hoped that they regroup on the outskirts and avoided any grimm. But that also worried her that she lost her best friend and little brother. But was worried if velvet was taking the grief sighed heavily, throwing herself onto the back.
She stared at the ceiling and put her hand up looking at it. The wolf thought about her semblance, some say it can evolve in a way. When she saw Adam ready to strike down Blake she was mad and scared.
That her long time friend would be snuffed out by that ex of hers. But she was too slow and ended up getting hurt. Now she lost her arm because of her. Maybe if she was strong enough she could have saved Blake from losing her arm. Then she wouldn't have been hurt and maybe went with Zane before he went to kill himself.
Their were many things she could do one was sit here and be all miserable. But another was try and get stronger to protect the ones she loved. She had to think of something but for now she needed to heal.
Though someone tapped her on the shoulder as she looked up to see Neo standing over her.
"Oh hey Neo…what's up?"Onxyia asked as she sat up.
Neo tapped away on her scroll and showed it too the wolf"are you alright?"neo text read
The wolf sighed"not really still thinking about you know who"she replied as the mute understood.
Then neo pulled her scroll up as she began to text away"I know its hard…I miss my dad I wish we never got involved with those people"neo text read as the girl frowned.
Onxyia looked at her before placing a hand on top of neo head rubbing it. Neo looked at her a little confused it seems.
"We both lost people important to us. It'll…take me time to grieve for him and it will take time for you for your father. But…let support each other through this ordeal"onxyia reasrured to the girl.
Then Neo gave a small nod to the wolf agreeing with her. Onxyia soon got up as she walked toward the door with Neo joining her. The two decided to head downstairs to join the others. They met with Blake and Bombay mid way down the stairs as they went to the living room to join Colt and Sienna.
Once they were downstairs the two seemed to be laughing and smiling about something. The teens looked as Yahto was with them but he sat near the window looking out it. The two adults noticed them as they joined them.
"You two seem to be getting along"bombay pointed out as she sat on a couch. While Onxyia sat on the other and Blake with her. Neo stood behind the one bombay was on leaning on it.
Sienna covered her mouth chuckling a little"oh you know reminiscing about my days as a huntresses with my team."sienna replied
The cat faunus forgot sienna was a huntresses. She walked about how her team was a comprised of her, two other faunus and one human. Though after she finished her studies years down the road she started the white fang with her father ghira.
But she did mention them a few times which is interesting in a way. Her mother went to Beacon as well apparently with the hayley sisters uncle, mother and father. Which was a little convenient they all became friends.
"I forgot you were on a team though you never talk about them much why?"blake questioned.
The bengel faunus thought for a moment"oh I never was one to brag though my partner Nadia was so annoying back in the day. Always rushing in to do things and going on about becoming the best boxer in all of remnant. Though it seems she went through with that"sienna replied
Some of them went silent as Colt already knew who she meant. That would be Neo aunt back in menagerie. The one that will probably hate them or do something else entirely. Though they decided not to tell her yet. Instead they decided to change the topic.
"So change of topic what are we going to be doing for the next three weeks. I don't wanna be stuck here doing nothing"bombay asked because it was all on their minds.
"Well Aruna and Vera should be done with work later in the evening for today. They know the town pretty well they find something for you to do"sienna suggested
Though blake had another thought rush through her head if she was going to be stuck here for a few weeks. If she did decided to get a prosthetic. It will be a bit till she can complete normal task with both her hands.
"But you could also help out around the house or town. Their are a few odd jobs here sometimes. Vera sometimes help with watchtower duty at night on the weekend. While Aruna helps out at the daycare."sienna said
"Hmm really anything that involves hunting?"yahto asked as he joined the group.
Sienna thought for a moment thinking about the possible job opportunities here for the kids. They need lien and they couldn't keep taking all their money while they stay their. The bengel faunus stared at the group smiling.
"You know their is the watchtower is part of a small guard we have here. They watch out for any grimm attacks or bandits. But they also hunt game in the area sometimes"sienna replied as she looked at onxyia.
The wolf noticed this as she titlted her head at her aunt. As the slowly understood why she stared at her it hit her.
"Oh I…think I would be good at it. I did hunt with my dad when I was a little. Though it wasn't that big of deal"Onxyia said
Blake chuckled a little at the girl because she remembered the day declan came back from a hunting trip with her when they were little. The man was laughing proudly because Onxyia managed to hit two deer at once on their first trip.
They apparently went to mistral for it and came back a week later. The girl seemed to enjoy it while her little brother spent time learning medicine.
"Really you hit two deer at once on your first trip. Uncle wouldn't stop going on how much of a sharpshooter you were"blake added
Onxyia rolled her eye because her father may look stoic but hes such a child at time. Now she wonders if she got her taste in men from her mother. Which doens't seem to bother her. The group continued to talk while they waited for Aruna and Vera.
Hours passed as it was now evening but instead of going to sleep most people were busy at night. They walked around the pier as small lanterns illuminated it. The moon illuminated the deep blue sea near the docks.
Though the seven of them were walking around the boardwalk wondering what they were going to do. Yahto didn't seem to mind hanging with a bunch of girls. He explained how he grew up with two older sisters.
He was like jaune in a way but instead got lucky instead of growing up with seven sisters.
"So mind telling us where your taking us?"onxyia aksed
"Oh theirs are people at the docks who perform tricks sometimes. Their alot of acts down their from juggling, axe throiwng, and some games their"aruna replied as her tailed swayed.
"Hmm really well it'll be fun maybe we'll run into Krim and Coop"vera added
This peak the wolf faunus curiosity on who those two were. They might be friends of their since their casually talking about them.
"Really who are they?"onxyia squestioned her tail swayed as they continued to walk toward another part of the pier.
"Oh a pair of siblings who play for a small band here. Their mother runs a small hotsrpings in town"aruna replied
That peaked some of their interest because a hotsrping sound pretty nice right about with a little bit of music that sounds nice As they continued to walk down the doc they soon reached a pier crowded with people. Their were several peerformers on the dock doing several tricks.
One was juggling some swords it seems and caught them. Then they threw another in the air before throiwng some scabbards in the air. Each sword went into each scabbard as he caught each one and tossed them into a bin next to him.
He caught one sword then tossed it into the bin then another. He repeated this task twice more and soon their was clapping being heard. The man bowed to the crowd as he did more tricks.
But as they walked down the dock soon enough they saw a very large crowd near the end of the dock. They were curious what exactly was going on so they checked it out. The crowd blocked their view but they managed to get around them as they watched.
Two boys were their with another two girl. They had some sound equipment next to them along with all of them carrying instruments.
The first boy seemed to be nineteen and had crimson red hair and his skin was pale, he wore a pair of brown pants with a grey t-shirt. But it seemed a little tight on him that outlined his large chest and muscles. He had on a leather jacket that was crimson red in color. The zippers on it where silver in with on his right forearm was a tattoo of a butterfly that was colored red. His eyes where light brown.
The second boy seemed to be twenty one years old and had dark brown hair with one white strip in it. His skin was tan and his eyes were light red, he wore a pair of blue shorts with a black sweashrit that was shortsleeved. Underneath the shirt was a white long sleeve shirt it seems. He wore a pair of dark black sneakers.
While the girl to his left seemed to be about twenty year old and had dark green hair with deep sea blue eyes. Her skin was dark brown and she had a nose piercing She wore a simple flannel shirt that was dark green like her hair with blac mixed in with it. She wore a black skirt that went down to her knees. She wore some boots that were brown in color.
Finally the last girl who seemed to be behind a drum kit seemed to be twenty two it seems. She had deep purple hair that was long and reached her lower back it seems. She had light green eyes and wore a crop top that was light purple. Along with a pair of running pants that gold color. Her skin was fiar skinned and she had a slender build along with a pair of bee wings on her back it seems. They were trnaluscent by the looks of it.
The boy with crimson hair stepped up grabbing the mic.
"Hello everyone and welcome. I hope your ready for what were going to play for you tonight cause it'll be a blast"he said as everyone applaud them.
The guy nodded to the other who picked up a piano syntheizer as he started to play a small tune. While the girl behind the drums started to tap the cymbals at a steady pace. While the other girl started to play a guitar at a steady pace.
The main singer also picked up a guitar to play. They started to play their music as it was fast and upbeat at times. They seem to be enjoying it as the crowd clapped after each song they played.
They watched them play as it was really nice to just relax and listen to some music. They continued for about a half hour as the suns started to descended beyond the horizon. The lights soon came on around them as the band got ready for their next song.
"Alright guy we got one more song before we head out for the night. This goes out to loved we all lost especially since recent evens this week. Take a listen"the male singer replied as everyone got a little quiet.
Then the boy with the piano softly played deeper notes while the girl with the guitar slowly sturmmed her guitar. Then the girl behind the drum tapped her cymbals and base drum slowly. The main singer hummed a little before he started to sing.
"Even though you're leaving"
"Our feeling would always stay the same"
"I wish we could be laughing"
Onxyia slowly listens to the song as her eyes widden a little at she holds the necklace around her chest tightly.
"Instead i'm standing here asking"
Do we have to end this now"
"Can we make it last somehow"
"We both know what we've gotta say not today"
"Cause I don't wanna leave this way"
Onxyia kept listening as she closed her eyes remembering the good times she had with Zane. But it was hard letting go right now as she couldnt. She kept listening to the song as did the others.
"Don't say goodbye"
"Cause I don't wanna hear those words tonight"
"Cause maybe it's not the end for you and I"
"And although we knew"
"This time would come for me and you"

The song continued for several minutes as they sung it last notes as it came to an end. Their were silence as the audience appalled them as they bowed as the crowd a sthey then waved to them.
The crowd began to slowly disperse as the band started to pack up. But Aruna motioned for them to come say hi to the band.
"Great show like always guys at the same time next week?"the crimson hair boy asked
The green-haired girl shook her head"maybe don't know my dads want to head to argus to say hi to my grandparents. "She replied
"Darn well tell them I said hi"the brown haired boy said disappointed a little.
"Well that was impressive as always Krim"aruna said as the band members turned to the group. The crimson hair boy stepped up to the group who was known as Krim.
"Hey aruna whats up"he replied as he offered a fist bumped and she returned it.
Though the crimson hair boy known as Krim looked behind her as he noticed a set of new faces behind her.
"Seems you brought friends"he pointed out as the other band members noticed this.
"Those two are Aruna couisn the wolf and cat ears. While those three are friends of theirs"vera replied stepping forward pointing at each person in their group.
"Oh right guys the one with crimson hair is Krim while the one with the white streak is Coop. "aruna said as the two brothers waved to them.
"Then theirs Misty the grouchy looking one"she pointed at the girl with green hair.
"Ughh"the girl known as misty groaned as she crossed her arms.
"Then last but not least Marigold"aruna said pointing to the bee faunus.
"Whats up"she replied giving a peace sign. She was busy packing up her drum kit it seems.
"Depsite that what are your names?"Marigold asked as she packed her drum kit up.
"Oh i'm bombay nice to meet you"she introduced herself
"I'm yahto and this one here is Neo, She can't speak"yahto itnroduced himself and Neo. Neo narrowed her gaze at him that she could just text on her scroll to talk. But she didn't care right now.
"Then their my cousin Blake"aruna said wrapping an arm around blakes shoulder.
Krim stepped forward offering a hand shake and blake insctivly reached for it. But relized her arm that was still missing and quickly put it down. Krim noticed this and sighed.
"My bad didn't know–"kirm quickly apolgized but blake stopped him.
"No…it alright you didn't know it's fine"blake intertuped letting him know it was okay. Though blake felt a little self conscious about her missing apengade even more now.
"Last but not least my cousin Onxy—"aruna began turning toward onxyia who was looking down at the wooden floor. She was wipping one of her eyes with her sleeves sniffing.
Marigold looked at the girl a little concerned"hey your friend alright"she asked softly.
Blake sighed looking at her friend who must have been thinking about him when that song came up. Probably reminding her of the good times the two had walked forward gently putting a hand on her shoulder.
Onxyia took a deep breath and looked up, wiping a tear off her cheek.
"I'm fine just…that was a beautiful song"onxyia replied
"No problem we thought about what happened in Vale recently. We play a tune for everyone to cheer them up sometimes"coop replied
Misty who had a resting bitch face on her crossed her arms under her bust looked at the wolf examining her. As the girl did she soften her gaze a little. Then the girl sighed looking at her.
"You lost someone recently didn't you….been their"misty said as onxyia looked away and nodded her head.
Krim smiled a little as he was putting his guitar in a case. Then he picked it up carrying it on his back as he slipped an arm under a strap.
"Hey don't worry wherever they are, just think about the good times. It may take a while but i'm sure they want you to move on,"krim reassured the girl.
"Umm thank you….i'm gonna start walking back"onxyia said turning away from the group as she started to walk back to the khan residence. Blake looked at her a little worried but understood she maybe wanted some time alone.
"Well it nice meeting everyone we gotta head home. Hey marigold i'll walk you home"Coop said as the bee faunus loaded her drum kit onto a small wagoon. Then the guy walked the bee faunus down the road. As Krim and misty were beginning to walk away too.
"They seem nice"bombay said as her tail swayed.
"Yeah those two have lived here for a long time. Their dad used to be a ship captain here. But he died during a voyage about ten years ago."Vera said as the group began to try and catch up with onxyia.
The group eventually did but she was already back at the khan the girl seemed to be in deep thought when they returned.
It was now nightime as the group returned to their rooms. Yahto was sleeping in his bed still while colt was sprawled out in his. In Sienna and Verde room the man was getting ready for bed as he joined his wife after coming back from the clinic.
While in aruna room she was fast alseep snoring a little. Bombay and Blake were fast asleep as they used a big body pillow to separate themselves from each other. Meanwhile in Neo and Onxyia room the two were getting ready for bed.
Onxyia wore a simple pair of long black silk pajama pants with a white crop top. While Neo wore a pair of pink long pants with a pink sleeping shirt.
The mute yawned as she covered her mouth and got into the bed. Onxyia was in the bathroom real quick looking at her eye. She looked at her two different eyes and sighed at this.
Then she walked out of the bathroom shutting of the light then joined the mute in bed.
"Night Neo…sweet dream"onxyia said as the mute shuffled a little in her spot.
Then from underneath the blanket a thumb shot up giving her thank you it seems. Onxyia laughed a little as she started to close her eyes. As did the mute who was asleep first. They sleep soundly throughout the night it seems.
Though later the wolf faunus seemed to be moving around in her sleep. She was sleeping and seemed to be having a nightmare from the looks of it. While neo slept quietly next to her.
Dream Sequence
Her eyes were open and she found herself in the streets of Vale it seems. She was in the center of a street as people ran around her. Along with that grimm roamed the streets chasing down the civilians.
She reached for her weapon on her back but it wasn't their. Then she looked behind her as the grimm passed her toward another. Their she saw zane fighting against several grimm. He stabbed one through the skull killing it.
Then he shot another one dead with a pistol. After that another one swiped at him as he was launched back. As he was she wanted to call out to him. But their were no words coming from her mouth. Like her voice was lost as she tried to call out tohim.
But soon enough the grimm swarmed at him as he sliced through them. Then one bite down hard on his shoulder as he kicked it back. His shoulder bled as she heard the buzzing of a scroll it seems. Then after he slayed the grimm that bite him he stepped back.
He looked at his scroll before sighing and he put it away. Then he slayed more grimm as they started to swarm him. But as they did they piled up on top of him as he was trapped underneath it. She wanted to rush to him but was stuck frozen in place.
Then the small pile of grimm surrounding him soon started to move. After that Zane appeared in his monstrous form as he bite down on a grimm head. Then he spat it out and swiftly killed the grimm in front of him.
But slowly after he chewed off a beowulf head. He slowly turned to her emitting a growl noise as he started to make his way to her. She looked scared at what he was doing as she wanted to scream. Then she felt something in her hands as she looked down.
In her hands was her rifle as she stared at it. Then she looked foward as zane was walking toward her. Onxyia didn't have control of her actions as she raised her rifle aiming it at him. But as she did it shook in her hands like crazy.
"No…no…please don't…please"She thought to herself as he got close. Then he roared as he lunged at her. Before she knew it she closed her eyes as she pulled the trigger and a loud bang went off. Their was slience as she didn't want to open her eyes.
Their standing in front of her was Zane corpse dead on the ground looking at her. But she screamed but nothing came out as did she stepped finally could move as the first thing she did was rush over picking up his bodie.. As she did she shook her head begging for him not to leave her.
That he didn't have to go into that city to redeem himself. She loved him despite being some weird grimm experiment. But she couldn't even say it as no words came from her mouth. But then she heard a voice say in the back of her head. They said sorry to her as she closed her eyes.
Dream Seuqence end
The girls eyes shot wide oepn as she sat up on her bed with swet beating down on her face. Her breathing was fast and labored like she just ran two marathons. But she felt her chest start to hurt a little. She clutched her chest as she sat up.
Soon enough she heard shuffling next to her as her ears twitched. She looked to see Neo slowly stirred awake looking at the girl. Then she rubbed her eyes looking at the wolf who was still up. Onxyia looked at her before sighing as she layed back down.
"Sorry to wake you…I had a bad dream is all…go back to bed"Onxyia said turning away from the girl.
But Neo looked at her before shaking the wolf faunus to get her attention. Onxyia pulled her sheets over her to try and ignore the mute. But Neo sat up from her spot then tried to think of a way to get the girl attention. Then she felt something hit her leg.
She glanced down at the wolf tail and had an idea. Before Onxyia knew it she felt something tug at her tail. Her eyes shot open as she quickly scrambled from her spot to look at the culprit. Their was neo with her arms crossed under her bust.
Onxyia glared at her"seriously it was just a bad dream so–"Onxyia began but the mute put a finger to the girls lip to shush her. Then she removed it from the wolf lips as she stared at her confused.
Neo reached for a small table on her side of the bed. She grabbed her scroll as she began to type.
"Really from what i'm seeing your having trouble sleeping. Do you wanna talk about?"neo text read.
The wolf wanted to avoid her right now because she rather not talk about it. But as she turned away from her she shifted her gaze across the room toward the desk. Their on the desk was the weapon case they stored his gear in.
With a heavy sigh she layed back on her back as she stared at the ceiling above her. Neo sat up staring down at her as she waited for the wolf to talk about her woes. Soon she did with her current roommate.
"It's just….I feel like he was just beating himself over it. I know that he didn't wanna do it, but….he didn't have go kill himself. We could have helped him….but now…he's gone."onxyia begun as Neo listened to her.
Onxyia sighed as she turned her head and looked up at Neo. The two girl with different color eyes met as they stared at each other.
"There's a hole in my chest….I know he was just trying to protect us. But I wish it didn't involve him dying"Onxyia finished it seems.
Then the silent girl put a hand on onxyia shoulder comforting her it seems. Onxyia smiled a little as she slowly shifted around to face away from her.
