In the last chapter the group went to watch a small music performance brining up some upsetting thoughts to some. Chapter 5 Black and White: Reconsideration

Morning came as usually over dryshore as the seagulls cawed and squawk in the air. Soon Blake stirred awake form her bed as she slipped out of bed. She put some slippers on in front of her.

Then she looked toward the small balcony door walking over to it. She then grabbed the blinds as light poured into the room filing it with light. This stirred her roommate with her awake as she groaned.

"Turn off the lights…five more minutes"bombay groaned as she turned away from the light.

Blake stretched her one good arm as it felt a little tight. Then she felt a pop which seemed to satisfy the cat.

"Come on auntie probably making breakfast right now. Plus you have a cast to get off"blake replied

Soon bombay eyes light up and she threw her sheet off her bed. Then she got up without her sling on as her arm hanged their.

"Your right lets get this thing off"bombay replied quickly excited it seems to get that cast off.

Blake rolled her eyes smiling as the two left the room to head downstairs. Once downstairs they were met by everyone else who was eating breakfast right now. Their breakfast consisted of some eggs, bacon and some juice it seems.

The cat smelled the air and from what she could tell it was good. She slowly walked over taking a seat by onxyia as the wolf was eating her breakfast already. She wore her pajamas still as the group ate.

Colt was reading a scroll for the daily news it seems as he took a sip from a coffee mug. Their was a brownish liquid in it suggesting that it was coffee. While Yahto seemed to have already finished his breakfast and already dressed in his usual attire.

The silent ice creamed girl was busy eating her breakfast as she let out a small yawn.

Soon sienna put a plate infront of the two cats as they dug into their breakfast. Aruna came down in her usual attire joining the group.

She grabbed a mug from a cabinet and grabbed the nearby coffee pot. Then she pour it into the cup until it was a satifyig amount for the bengel girl.

Then from a small container she grabbed a small cup and scooped some sugar it seems from it. The girl then pour some into her cup and grabbed a spoon as she stirred it.

"So what on today agenda I got the day off from helping dad"aruna asked as she stirred her mug.

They could probably explore the town more and check what else it has to offer. Along with that they could maybe see if their are any jobs they could take to help out to earn some lien. Which would help them out in the long run.

"Maybe we could check out around town for any jobs you mentioned. Might as well try and find something to keep ourselves busy"blake suggested

"Hmm interesting suggestion dear, though stop by the clinic real quick. You can take that cast off today "sienna added

Bombay nodded as she was finishing up her breakfast. She placed her silverware on the plate then walked over handing it too the women. Onxyia was finishing up her breakfast as she hummed a small tune to herself.

The girl seemed a little happier it seems which made Blake happy she finally started to cheer up.

"You seem happy get a good nights sleep?"blake questioned

"Had a bad dream but….I got back to sleep with some help"onxyia said glancing at Neo. She smiled as the mute was enjoying a cup of tea it seems. The short girl took a big drink of it before setting it down.

Soon blake got finished with her breakfast as she got up to put it in the sink. As she did colt turned around and accidentally bumped into her. Time seemed to slowl down a little as Blake drop the plate sending it forward.

Then she tried to reach out with her other hand to pick it up. But all that happen was her arm moving slightly with what remained.

The plate landed with a loud crash as it shattered all over the place on the crowd. Shards flew into the air as everyone jumped by the sudden loud crash. Blake looked down at the plate sighing to herself.

"Sorry….my bad…i'll grab something to–"blake said but Colt stop her.

"Nonsense dear I got this you all get changed and head to the clinic. Then enjoy yourself I did bump into you. Least I could do"he said as he went to a nearby closet. He pulled out a broom and dust pan.

Then he bent over slightly as he began to sweep it up. Everyone decided to go and get changed. But as they did Blake looked at her missing arm frowning at it. Maybe she should probably ask Vera mother about getting a new arm.

Soon the group finished changing into properly clothes as the group went to head back to the clinic. Though bombay seemed a little happy to finally get this dumb cast off her arm. It took them a bit but they finally got to the clinic as they arrived to the front door seeing it open.

Blake grabbed open the door and opened it as they all stepped inside to see Vera at the front desk talking with someone.

"Look I don't care who you say you are said your not allowed here anymore Hoyt"vera said annoyed

The man in front of them seemed to be in his early twneties., his skin was medium skin complexion. He had black hair slicked back with a handlebar mustache to match it. His eyes were dark purple. But he had a noticeable scar on his left cheek from a knife slash it seems.

The man in front of them wore a pair of black dress pants. Along with that he wore brown dress shoes and he wore a grey dress shrit underneath a black vest. Along with that he wore a long trench coat that reached the ground almost. It was gray in color.

The man known as hoyt shook his head at the girl.

"Girl tell that doctor and everyone in this town if they don't pay up. They'll be in a whole heep of trouble"he threatened with a smooth voice from how he talked.

"You might want to rethink that"Yahto said getting the man attention. He looked over at the group and looked at yahto. The man known as hoyt smiled a little at him like he knew him.

"Well..well..well if it isn't little yahto…how you been kid?"hoyt asked as the group looked at him. Then Yahto clenched his fist glaring at the man. Hoyt approached the group with a smile. Blake looked at Vera shaking her head at the group.

"None of your busy you crook"yahhto spitted venom at him.

Hoyt frowned a little as he shook his head at that kid wagging his finger."Come now where old friends ki–"hoyt begun but Yahto grabbed his tomahawk from his side and held it to the man throat.

"Were not friends asshole!"he shouted as he slammed Hoyt to a neabry wall. Everyone looked a little shocked as soon Verde came from a back room wondering what was going on.

"Yahto let him go now"verde order as yahto wanted to argue. But he shook his head that now wasn't the time. The boy scoffed as he did and hoyt looked at him with disgusts. Then he looked at Verde studying him.

"Now you better treat my boys or you'll be in trouble with me and my boss. Your lucky he went back to mistral. But treat our boys or else"hoyt threatened while he didn't care that the group was here.

Verde sighed as he slowly nodded as hoyt seemed happy. Then he walked past the group pushing them out of the way. Onxyia glared at him as he left then he opened the door shutting it behind him.

"Okay what the heck was that?"bombay questioned what exactly just happened.

Verde sighed as he sat down in a chair in their waiting room of the clinic. He rubbed his forehead on how he was going to explain it. But along with that Yahto seemed a little anger about seeing that man again.

"Its a long story"verde replied as he sat their collapsing his hands together.

"Alright tell us"onxyia simply asked as she looked at her uncle.

The doctor took a deep breath as he sighed"you see about a couple months back we get this man who was all shot up. He and a few others came in requesting help. We helped him then once we were finished we asked for payment"verde began as he looked a little worried.

"They said that it was free of charge and they use my services in the future. Every few weeks they come by to get treatment whent heir in Vale. But they seem to have returned from a major brawl. Two of his men are here for a broken shoulder and another for a gunshot wound."verde replied

"So wait he's threatening you to keep quiet about all this or something?"blake questioned

Vera shook her head as she joined in on the conversation explaining it too them.

"No hoyt is apparently apart of some gang from mistral ran by two people who are assassin's for hire and–"Vera begun but Blake stopped her.

"Let me guess one of them is named Betty parker"blake said as the two looked at her shock. Yahto seemed a little mad as he crossed his arms. Neo sighed a little because she knew why the guy was upset.

"How did you know that dear?"verde questioned confused why his niece in a way knew of that women.

"Because she tried to kill my father about a few weeks ago"blake replied which shocked Verde.

"What? Why that snake…I should have never treated that man back then. "Verde begun as he seemed stressed. Blake didn't like this look from her uncle and it worried her. Their had to be another reason for why they keep coming back.

But then she thought about her aunt sienna and how she is expecting soon then it clicked with her.

"Their threatening auntie aren't they uncle"blake asked as Verde looked at her. He didn't answer but the girl hit the mark.

"Yes"he said with a heavy sigh it seems. But he looked around as he looked toward one room where a sleeping man was along with another.

Then he looked at the group with a serious expression"look i'll get your cast off but avoid that man at all cost. He no good…just enjoy yourselves today"verde suggest which they took to heart it seems. Yahto stayed with bombay as she got her cast off.

They planned to meet with them by the pier later. The group decided to get some lunch first it seems. They made their way through the streets as the place was busy it seems from how everyone is walking around. A bunch truck could be seen unloading suppiels to some people and stores.

"Hmm alot fo trucks here today"Blake pointed out

"Yeah about this time of month some supplies get dropped off by some companies that people buy from to restock. Though I know a great dinner near Vera mom place come on"Aruna said as they followed her to the dinner.

They soon got to a small dinner that was an outside diner. But a familiar face they met last night was their. Their in a skirt that was blue with a grey t-shirt of the dinner logo was Marigold. Her wings stuck out from the back and she wore some roller blades it seems.

The group sat down as the bee faunus skated over and got her notepad out.

"Alright folks what can I…oh hey Aruna"marigold said noticing the girl.

"Hey Mari can I get the usually"aruna replied a marigold wrote something down.

"What about you guys?"marigold asked looking toward the group. They all three gave her their orders. Blake ordered a tuna sandwich which she could't help but crave. While Onxyia ordered some chicken it seems. Neo ordered a small shake with a sandwich.

Marigold sped off to grab their food and they waited for her to bring it back. As they did Aruna explained how she helps out here since her parents own it. But as they waited Blake kept glancing over at Catlyn who was hard at work in her metal shop then she looked at her missing arm.

"You okay their Blake. You keep staring at the metal shop Vera mom own. Whats wrong?"onxyia asked

The cat sighed before answering her friend"I guess in a way you could say that. I'm trying to build up the confidence to speka to her about getting a new arm."blake said nerovusly.

"It understandable cousin catlyn can come off as too ethunstic at times. But she means well just take your time for when your ready"Aruna replied

Blake sighed a bit before looking back at the shop. Catlyn was currently working on a prosthetic it seems right now. The women was careful with it as she soon placed it down. Then she looked at what she made smiling.

Soon Marigold brought them their food back as they thanked her. Then they continued to eat their food. The group ate for a bit talking about the incident in the clinic and decided to ask aruna about it.

"So have they been terroziing the clinic that long?"onxyia asked worried.

Aruna was busy messing with a straw in her cup sighing"yeah…every since dad treated one of them. They think they owe him by giving him more patients. But he can't make money like that…they threatened me and mom"aruna replied looking down.

Blake looked at her cousin wanting to see what she could do. But without her arm shes not much help which made her start to consider talking to certain blacksmith.

"Hey their my little bee"a voice said as Marigold was coming over to give them their bill. But she was stop by a familiar piano player from last night.

"Arghh Coop stop it i'm at work"marigold groaned

Coop laughed smiling"my bad just wanted to say hi though it seems our friends from last night are here"coop said as marigold walked over giving them their bill and he joined them.

But some people were looking in disgusts at marigold and coop it seems. Neo caught it from the corner of her eye wondering what their problem was.

"Oh hey your that coop guy from last night…you two are dating?"onxyia nervously asked

Coop nodded his head"yeah when we started the band we got to know each other and started to date."coop replied

The wolf sighed a little being reminded of her previous boyfriend. Though it did make her upset and miss him a little more along with her girlfriend

"Jeez can't believe I have to see something disgusting like that here"someone voice said geting the group attention.

Then turned to se three guys their who was staring at them all of them human.

"You got something to say pal?"coop asked as marigold came back to pick up the people dishes.

"Nothing trying to enjoy our meal from our long trip to deliver supplies here. Then we see you and that freaky bug here…it ruined out meal"he replied with annoyance.

The group glared at them a little especially onxyia. Now she has to deal with another racist just like her first date. What a great way to be reminded of a great night that was almost ruined.

"Hey shut up and mind your business"onxyia growled at the group of men.

They looked at her with disgust as they slowly got up from their seat walking over to them. Once they came over tehy glared at them.

"Watch your mouth mutt or else we'll have to muzzle you"one of them threatened.

"I like to see you try"aruna said standing up staring at him.

Then one man snorted and looked at neo in their group"heh you know their probably kidnapping that girl right their"he said with disgust as they stared at him.

"Oh is that right they holding you hostage sweetie"A large man said talking to Neo who blankly stared at them shaking her head no.

"Hey we didn't–"blake begun as she got up from her seat. But one of the men pushed her back into her seat. She fell backwards into it knocking it down to the ground.

"Shut up you all are just—"he begun before a certain two people joined the group.

"Your all just what"yahto asked behind the men who turned to look at him and bombay. She got her cast off but she glared at them.

"None of your business kid back–"he began but before he knew it her received a punch to the face with a loud crunch being heard. Then he fell down on his back as his nose gushed blood.

"Oh now your dead"he said as he got up but Yahto dodged him throwing him from the dinner into the street. As he did another tried to strike him but coop tackled him to the ground. The man turned to coop as he headbutted him back. Coop stumbled back wards as he hit his head on a nearby pole.

He groaned as he rubbed his head and the man walked over to keep wailing on him. But then Neo ran over swifitng delvieirng a kick to the man left side of his skull. He stumbled backward as he dropped to the ground.

The third man then tried to swing at Yahto and nailed him in the back of the head. Then he pulled something from his hip and it looked to be a knife. He flipped it smiling and raised it at the boy. Before they knew it bombay activated her semblance as a familiar armor form stood their.

Their stood bombay in zanes titanform but with a cute little cat tail. The girl stared at the man who stabbed at her. But the knife bounced off her as she stared at him. Then she delivered a swift kick to the man skull launching him to the ground.

Soon enough a couple people came over in what appeared to be law enforcement uniforms. They both wore two olive green long coats under some shirt they wore. One wore a black dress shirt with some brown dress pants. While the other wore some grey jeans with a red muscle shirt.

The man in the black dress shirt was a little taller than the man in the red shirt. He had a dark skin complexion with medium length hair colored light black. He had a goatee on his chin also colroed black. He seemed in his late thirties and was quite muscular. His eyes were dark pink.

While the second man had pale skin and his hair was blonde cut short. On his neck was a small tattoo of a atlas military symbol. On his head was a pair of mouse ears and he was athletic appearance.

"What the hell is going on over here"the taller man asked looking at the three men on the ground.

Coop rubbed his head as he was sitting up as Marigold rushed to him. Soon enough the people in the town seemed to be watching a little. As they did a few witnesses came up it seems.

"Officer Angelo and Melone these men where threatening these kids"a women spoke up to the groups surprise it seem she came to their side so quickly. Yahto was the frist one to throw the punch but maybe these men have caused stuff like this in the past.

"Ughh seriously again you three alright time to for you to visit the jail…again"the mouse faunus groaned.

"Come now my little mouse don't be like that"the taller man said in a gruff voice. It was surprising to see a man so intimadating talk like that.

The mouse faunus sighed as he looked at the group of teens and stepped forward toward them.

"Alright that women over their claims they started it is this true?"he asked

"No sir we kinda did but they did keep harassing us"blake spoke queitly as she picked her self up. But it was a little hard to and Neo walked over helping the cat faunus up. She nodded to her thanking her.

"Hmm well they did push her down first"yahto added as he wiped the blood from his knuckles. The older man then narrowed his gaze looking at Blake then the three who stood their. He shook his head at the men disgusted it seems.

"Picking on someone who missing an arm…you three should be ashamed of yourself. Your going down to the station"he said as he produced some cuff. The men didn't run because they were pretty much surround by the group.

The two officer cuffed them as they brought them to the town station by bringing walking them their. It wasn't a long walk it seems as they then turned into a building.

"Man that was something else"coop said walking over rubbing his head a little. Marigold walked over with an icepack and gave it to him. He nodded thanking her as he placed it on his head.

Bombay walked over still in the armor form still casually looking at them. Which made blake a little curious because Zane said it causes him increased rage. Maybe that was meant for him maybe.

"Wait isn't that your cousins neo?"yahto pointed out as Neo shook her head a little confused. While Onxyia glared a little at the girl it seems.

"Yeah I call it copycat I can copy someone semblance for forty seconds. Though I can hardly hear a—"bombay begun but onxyia stooped her.

"Please take that off now"she growled a little getting the cat attention. Bombay put her hands up a little as it fell off as the cat stared at her.

"Hey relax I just used that one to–"she begun but onxyia stopped her.

"Look I understand that guy was going to stab him but please don't ever copy his semblance ever again. I…really don't wanna think of him in that form"Onxyia said confusing some but blake and Neo understood. She meant that monster form of his.

"Umm well despite that you okay man?"yahto asked looking at coop.

"Yeah don't worry those three always cause trouble were lucky misty dad saved out skins"coop replied sparking some curiosity.

The girl who had a grouchy look on her face last night they met. Who is aslo apart of their band dad are the guards or sheriffs of the town.

"Wait those two are her parents?"neo texted a little confused it seems.

"Umm yeah whats wrong with that?"aruna questioned

Then the mute shook her head because she thought it might do with them both being male or something. But then she typed on her scroll again.

"They look like the type of two people you see from a buddy cop movie"neo text read

"Well they technically are buddy cops in a way. But their nice guys hey thanks for saving my ass. Come by the hotsprings and we'll let you have a free soak sometime"coop thanked as the group soon started to disperse.

They were about to head back to the khan resident before Blake looked at Catlyns store. She stared at it for second before turning to them.

"I'll catch up I gotta go do something"blake said as the group looked at her.

"Really want one of us to come with?"bombay asked

Blake shook her head"no i'll be fine i'll meet you back at the house. Just something to check up on"blake replied as they seemed to understood.

"Alright be careful then"onxyia warned as they walked back to the house without her. Though Blake walked over to Catlyn weapon and metal shop. Women was busy working on a piece of new material which looks like the prosthetic from early.

"Well if it isn't you"catlyn said as she set the prosthetic done.

"Ummm hello Catlyn. I think there is something I need your help with"blake said

The women looked at her for a moment and knew what she was talking about.

"Alright dear since you've had some time to think about it. Are you ready for a new arm?"she asked almost knowingly.

"Actually…yes…I was wondering if you could make me a arm. What will it take to make one?"blake asked

"It won't take long all I need to do is take your measurement on your other arm so I can get correct one for your new one. Though it will cost you some lien though….I do owe the khans a favor. "Catlyn replied

"Wait are you actually going to give it too me for free?"blake questioned as her ears twitched.

"Yep, my little girl wanted to work with medicine and Verde trained her taught her the basics. And she seems to be enjoying herself their. I owe him one. "Catlyn replied

"Ok but at least let me give you some lien for it"blake replied as catlyn seemed to considered it.

"Alright…two hundred lien for the entire thing."catlyn replied as Blake nodded. She got the lien out and payed for her new arm.

"Ok next up is your measurement on your other arm. I've got the base of what your arm will look like. "She added as she brought of some measuring tape from below. Blake let her measure her arm to see what has to work with.

"Well isn't this interesting"she said as she took notes on a piece of paper.

"What interesting?"she asked

"Well you can tell what kind person they are weather it be their eye, palm or arm. Though your suggest you want to protect those you care about. Very noble"Catlyn replied

"Thank you"blake replied to the comment.

"Though how long will it take to be done?"blake asked

"Hmm if I get started now it could be done by tomorrow night or evening"she replied

"I guess another day couldn't hurt. Thank you"blake said

"No problem kid"catlyn replied as she went back to her work and seemed to get started on blake new arm.

Blake stepped away from the workshop and head back home to the others. Their wasn't much she could do right now instead head back home. As she was on her way back home she passed by her uncle clinic. Their house is behind it on that small hill so she walked past it.

But as she did she did she heard a crashing sound from inside as her ears perked up. She rushed inside as she took out gambrol shroud on her hip with her good arm. Once inside she turned a corner around the receptionist desk.

Their down the hall were a couple men with attire similar to holts but on their left shoulder a symbol of brass knuckles their. Their probably part of Bettys gang it seems. They held the man by the shirt collar as they lifted him up.

"I'm not giving you my ansthetics because you two wanna get–"verde begun but the man stopped him.

"You either give them up doc or we burn your clinic to the ground"the thug said threatening him.

"Or we could pay your wife a visit and see about giving up on that kid"the second said as he reached in his coat. He pulled out a pistol it seems from what Blake could tell from a distance.

"Then a third walked out of a room with a box before he turned to his left to see Blake standing their.

"Oh crap company"he said getting the other two attention as they raised some pistols at her. She narrowed her gaze ready to strike but then glanced from her right into a room. Their in the room was a patient from the looks of it.

If she got in a shoot out here the patients here could get hurt or worse. She decided to sheathe her weapon which confused the men. But they didn't care because the one with the box smiled a little.

"Heh kid knows when not to start a shoot out smart move"he said as he walked down the hall past her.

The thug let go of verde who fell to the ground. His hair was messed up as the two walked away from him. One bumped into blake left shoulder as he glared at two walked but one turned while he had the door open slightly.

"Thanks for the donation doc…the knuckle dusters thank will be by tomorrow morning to say hi"he mockingly said as he slammed the door leaving. Verde sighed in disappointment as he took a seat. Then from another room Vera emerged with a terrified expression on her face.

"Are they gone?"vera questioned emerging from the room.

"Yes dear they are but now we barely have any ansthestics for surgery. Those thugs don't even care their dooming people lives"verde said

Blake sighed a little looking down at her uncle"uncle I have a request for tomorrow"blake said getting his attention.

"Yes dear what is it?"verde questioned knowingly it seems.

The cat faunus took a deep breath in and out"I'm going to get a new porthestic tomorrow and i'd like to go through surgery tommorrow"she replied as the two looked at her.

"But blake they took most of the anthestics you'll barely be–"Vera begun but the cat stopped her.

"I'll be fine right now I wanna stop feeling useless. If I want to protect the one I care about I need to be at full strength"blake replied proudly.

Verde slowly changed his gaze looking at his niece. He placed a hand on the girl smiling.

"Alright dear we'll get started first this in the morning alright. If I know catlyn that women will be up all night getting that thing done"verde said

"Ughh guess I got babysitter duty tonight for my little sister. Could I head back home early doc…gotta pick them up."vera said

"Hmm why don't you stay the night at our place i'm sure your mother wouldn't mind. I'll need your help tommorrow anyway. Sienna can watch over her while your mother works"verde suggested

"Alright i'll do just that though you place might be a little crowed then"vera replied as she left the shop to go grab the girl. Blake decided to follow the girl so she didn't get hurt or anything. Plus she herself is a big sister and might as well she'll head back to the house soon anyway.

It seems blake is finally considering getting a prothestic arm to replace the one she lost. While yahto seems to have a connection to this man named hoyt from the look of it? Hoyt is my own oc, thanks for reading!
