Chapter 15 Black and White:Bearer of Bad News
Onxyia walked along the streets of menagerie as people went from venue to venue but she can also tell their still a bit of uneasiness in the air more likely the faunus of menagerie are still thinking about the event of beacon. Along with those grimm knights going around. Honestly she couldn't blame them for acting like that too if she heard something like that.
Though she had other thing on her mind that she been dealing with. The death of Zane made her hurt like never before. She wishes he was here with her right now to tell her everything will be okay. But he isn't and she been trying to keep distant about from the others now. Blake already has several problems on her plate being the white fang, loss of limb. She just needed to be alone and somewhere familiar to her.
She walked another ten minutes until coming to a medium size house. It looked like all the other house in menagerie except for a wolf symbol on the front door of the house. She walked up to the door as she raised her hand to knock on it. The girl hesitated before gently tapping on the wooden door.
Footsteps could be heard coming to the front door and it opened. Their in the doorway was her mother katherine. The women smiled as she embraced her daughter pulling her down a little. Onxyia returned the embrace.
"Your back I was so worried about you"katherine exclaimed as she let go of onxyia go.
"I know and i'm sorry….is dad around?"onxyia asked
"Yes, he's in his study right now. Come in dear how are you"katherine motioned as onxyia walked inside.
She then looked to the left toward the living room that had a low end coffee table. With place mats around it colored black and white. Along with a leather couch near it. Their was a shelf with pictures of her and her family. One was of her when she was little another of a family picture they took a few years ago.
Their was a medium size tv in the room as well. But their was also a window that lead outside. It showed the forest and nothing else.
Katherine motioned for her daughter to sit down and she did just that
"I'll go get your father dear wait here"katherine said as onxyia waited for her.
She sat their looking around smiling happy to be back. But she worried what he father was going to say about her friends and boyfriend. Probably call him a monster saying he dersevs to be locked up.
But she just wanted to see also if they heard anything about xander lately. As she sat their what was like minute she sighed. She lifted the laughing skull necklace and her cross necklace up.
She kept staring at it not paying attention as someone was trying to call out to her.
Soon she felt someone put a hand on her shoulder and she looked up to see her father their standing above her smiling.
"Their you are my little cub"declan said as he embraced his daughter covering her.
"Hey dad"she sadly replied as she returned it.
Katherine took notice of this wondering why she sounded upset.
"Is everything all right dear?"katherine asked
"umm …yes, everything is all right"she quickly replied as her tail sagged to the ground.
"Well i'm happy your safe, I saw your match you did so great."Declan tried to cheer her up.
"Yeah….that day was something"onxyia replied as she stared at the necklaces still.
"Though we were worried about you. You disappeared without any trace"katherine asked worried
"I…got hurt…but don't worry i'm fine …blake she"onxyia begun as she sighed looking down.
Declan walked over placing a hand on his daughter shoulder and she looked at him. He looked at her worried wondering what happen to ghira daughter.
"What happened to her dear?"declan questioned worry.
"She..lost her arm"onxyia replied which shocked the two.
"What? How did that happen"katherine asked surprised
"Adam took it off during the attack on Beacon. But it my fault she lost it"onxyia replied
"Dear why would you say that?"Declan asked
Onxyia rubbed her eyes a little"because I got trapped and he came after me. She got in the way and now she has a prosthetic because of me. My best friend lost her arm because of me"onxyia simpy replied but clenched her fist
Katherine sat down next to her daughter as as she rubbed her head a little.
"Sweetie that isn't you fault, you couldn't have predicted anything like that happening. Blake was just protecting you"katherine reassured
"It probably wouldn't have happen if your boyfriend wasn't one of those grimm knights"declan said with annoyacne
Onxyia flinched a little hearing that as she clenched her fist tighter.
"Declan, don't say that you know what he meant to her, along with that other girl"katherine added a little displeased her husband made that comment.
"I'm sorry dear but that thing was dating my daughter. He assured me that he never would hurt her. Then he kills someone, it isn't right. Probably tricked those two to use them for his own gain"Declan added
"I understand that, but you shouldn't assume he would hurt her or their friends"katherine asked
"Really, even if thats so hes probably here right now. Which puts everyone else at risk of him going on a killing spree"delcan said onxyia snapped
"You don't have to worry about that"onxyia said getting her parents attention.
"Oh why thats?"declan asked as he crossed his arms.
Katherine looked a little worried because onxyia clenched her fist. Her ears flopped over as she took small breaths. But katherine looked at her daughter face and it was filed with sadness.
"Sweetie what do you mean by that?"katherine asked
"Yes, what did he leave you to be with those knights of his"declan added in with a anger expression.
"No he didn't…because hes dead!"onxyia shouted at him as she looked at him with tears in her looked at her surprised she raised her voice. She sat back down looking at the necklaces again and dropped his back to her chest as she held hers.
Katherine walked over wrapping an arm around her daughter to comfort her.
"I'm sorry sweetie for your loss"katherine reassured her daughter.
"Hmm guess those huntsman and huntresses got to him"declan said
Onxyia clenhced her fist"no….he stayed behind thinking he was a monster, now I have to tell his mom he's dead."onxyia said which made her father soften his gaze.
"What?"katherine asked as she reached for her daughter. But she pulled away and began to walk toward the backdoor.
"Little cub come–"declan began before Onxyia opened the sliding door leaving the two. They looked at each other wondering what the two got up to go after their daughter
In the forest Onxyia was walking fast to try and be by herself. Soon enough she got to a small shrine in the middle of the clearing. She looked at it as it seemed to be a shrine to someone who died.
She walked toward a small bench close by with a koi pond near it. Then she placed her hands over her eyes, shaking her head.
"Why did I say those things, someone just please help with my problem"onxyia said looking into the koi pond.
"Then let me help you"A female voice said to her coming from behind her. In instinct she jumped from the bench readying her glaive at whoever was their.
She then looked at the mysteiouers person their. A person who is a young faunus who seemed to be nineteen years odl with tan skin complexion with long brown hair in a ponytail that curls at the end. However she wore a grimm like mask that covers her eyes. Though on her skin and face are various dark spots that indicates that she is a chameleon faunus.
She wore a black, gray and dark sleeved sleeveless stealth suit with short legs that resemble a playsuit with black trim around the legs that seem to complement her modest bust and figure. The color had divided at the center of her thighs. The zipper is gold, over it she is wearing gray belt straps with gold buckles.
She wears black calf high boots that are folded over and a black glove on her right hand.
In her right hand is a long bladed rapier like weapon that seemed to have a curved handle.
"Iila?"onxyia questioning why akasha girlfriend was the chameleon faunus just stood their silently.
"What are you doing here, wheres aksha?"onxyia aksed as illa flinched a little
Onxyia narrowed her gaze wondering why she just flinched. She hasn't seen her in a while maybe she knew if xander was alive or not. But she won't talk to her which was strange.
"I'm sorry….but I need to do this or they'll kill me just like her"illa replied with a sadden tone which made onxyia scared about hearing that. Then Ilia skin then changed to a green and blue color.
"What do you mean by that? What happened to akasha?"onxyia questioned now worried what happened to her friend and brother.
Illa gripped her weapon tight before she riased it. Then she pressed the lever on the handle as it extended into a whip and she swung it at her as she ehard the weapon crack. Onxyia dodged it because she recalled she has electricity dust running through it.
"Illa what are you doing….what happened to akasha and xander?"onxyia asked again as illa stood their. Then Illa lifted her weapon again as she swung it at onxyia. Onxyia rolled out of the way.
But she wasn't fast enough as it grazed her leg and she felt a shock run through her leg. She screamed in pain as she fell to the ground holding her leg. Illa walked over to with a sadden expression not exactly wanting to do this.
"Why….why are you doing this?"onxyia asked looking at her scared.
"Because if I don't…they'll kill me just like Akasha and the others who left with her!"illa cired as she let a tear escape down her face
Onxyia stared at her as she just heard her friend and brother were dead. Which meant they found them and this just broke her. Onxyia just layed on her side as she curled up in a ball. She started to cry a little hearing that her little brother was dead.
"No….not xander…not him….why do I have to lose the ones I love"onxyia said outloud to herself as she cried.
Illa raised her hand ready to strike the whip down on her but she couldn't bring herself to do it, to kill her. That moment of hesitation costs her because a shot rang out. She dodged it and turned to see Declan aiming a rifle at her. He fired another shot at her and she dodged it with ease. Then she looked around before sprinting off escaping.
Declan and Katherine ran to their daughter to see if she was alright. They got to her noticing her leg was bleeding and she was crying.
"Little cub what happened are you alright?"declan asked worried.
Katherine picked up her daughter head as she kept crying her eyes out. She layed her head on her lap wondering what happened.
"mom…dad….Xander….she…said"oxnyia begun stopping looking at them their faces filled with worry
"What happen to your brother…what happen to my son!?"declan shouted in rage.
Onxyia covered her eyes as her ear flopped over"they killed him and akasha"onxyia replied as the two parents looked at each other. Katherine held her daughter holding her tight. While Declan stood their anger right now he heard his sons dead.
"Those…bastards, we need to tell Ghira what happened. "Declan said which confused katherine.
"Dear…they don't need to know about him yet…let just…"katherine begun but he stopped her.
"No..no, that my daughter was attack by an assassin. The same one who probably did it"declan said as he kneeled down. He put one hand underneath his daughter as he gently picked her up. He held her princess style as they started to walk to the belladonna household. Katherine grabbed her daughter glaive as they had somber looks on their face.
Colt was upstairs looking out the balcony overseeing the roaring hill fo menagerie and some of the lower markets. It a peaceful place to be at but he could feel even more their was tension in the air. Almost as bad that he had to see his long time friend hear the news of her dead son.
Neo was with him as she stared down at the market sighing.
"I know kid…it'll be a rough night tonight"colt said knowingly how she felt. The girl can't speak but once you've been around her long enough you pick up what she says.
Soon the door behind them opened and it was kali along with jazmine holding a tray with five cups on it. Aruna followed the two because Sorrel is sleeping right now and her father is watching him.
"How are you two doing?"kali asked as she sat the tray down walking toward their side.
"Not that great in reality. Dreading when Nadia and Zoey come by"colt replied as he took the cup of tea drinking it.
"Look maybe you don't need to tell her right now….tell her he's on the run"Aruna suggested
Neo shook her head at this as she held her heart necklace in her hands. Jazmine took notice of this because she seen zoey with one but of a spade.
"Let me guess…..those necklaces are how you find each other"jazmine stated as neo gently nodded.
Colt chuckled a little"yeah..good old torch said they all had their own tricks up their sleeves. Gave them that when they were kids."colt added smiling.
"That seems sweet, though it seems that man isn't being labeled as a criminal anymore."kali ponted out.
Neo looked at her signing"yeah, at least my dad did some good in the old"neo signed
Kali walked over placing a hand on the girl shoulder nodding to her.
"He did, but how exactly did she lose her son again"kali questioned looking at colt.
Colt sighed as he tried to find the right way to explain it, that she blamed herself for his death. That she souldn't have left him alone that day.
"She…she blamed herself. When I heard their was a fire I rushed over to check on those three. I get their and she out front crying with zoey beside her…."colt started but dreaded the next part of that day because of what she said.
"But what?"jazmine asked as she stared with worry.
"That she blamed herself"colt replied as he looked down at the market.
" it wasn't her fault im sure of it. But maybe she'll get clarity on his death if they send his bodie to her"kali added
Though Neo scoffed at this it seems getting their attention which worried them.
"Neo, whats wrong….do you know something?"aruna asked as she stared at the mute.
Neo lifted her hands up signing"My sister Lazuli spied on Ironwood and found alot of protocols for stuff. One being what they did with zanes body if found dead"neo signed which made them curious a little.
"Wait what are you talking about"Jazmine asked to the surprise of neo she understood her.
"How'd you know what I said?"Neo signed to her.
"Oh mom taught me some ASL it makes communicating with you easier…so yeah"jazmine replied as she turned away rubbing the back of her neck. In reality she did it to try and ask the girl out. But now was not the time for that.
"What were they going to do with his body?"Colt asked worriedly.
Neo thought for a moment before answering"they were going to perform experiments on it. To see if they could figure out if the grimm knight has weaknesses. They were going to do what those people who kidnapped him did"neo signed as the four looked stun by that.
Kali glared at the news of this, she was a mother and if she was in that position. She would be furious they didn't let her child have a proper burial.
"That is no way to treat someone's loved one, they shouldn't keep her child from having a proper burial,"Kali said a little angrily.
"Hmph of course Atlas would do something like that. Though they said presume what if those knights found him"jazmine suggested which made them sit there silently.
Colt sighed because that question didn't sound alright, if that did happen. He didn't want to think about it.
"Look lets not bring this up infront of the other alright. "Colt suggested
"Alright, but it seems their something going on downstairs"kali said as she looked toward the front gate. They all wondered what she meant as they peered over the balcony.
Their walking close to the front door was Nadia and Zoey. But in the distance near the hill Neo could make out something. She looked and saw Onxyia it seems being carried by someone.
"Umm is that auntie and uncle with Onxyia?"aruna asked confused
"It seems so….lets head downstairs"kali said as the five decided to head downstairs.
Meanwhile downstairs everyone sat down talking with each other. Sienna had sorrel in her arms now as Verde sat close by reading a book. Blake and Ghria were sitting next to each other drinking some more tea. While Sun was sitting with yahto as the six talked.
"Man can't believe you got a metal arm."sun said surprsied looking at it.
"Yeah its…something alright"blake said looking at her prosthetic arm.
"Though it does also have some gadgets to it"yahto pointed out as he looked at the wrapped up weapons case. He narrowed his gaze shaking his head.
"Wait what is he talking about?"ghria questioned intrigued but concerned.
"Oh a weaponsmith I knew in town modded it for her. If I recall it has a grappling hook and extendable claws"verde replied as he turned a page in his book.
"Really? Oh can you do the grappling hook now?"sun asked excited it seems.
"Not in my house"ghira warned he rather not have to clean up his house from debris.
"Jeez fine….chill out"sun replied as she went to the window to look outside.
Blake looked at her metal arm rubbing it as something was bugging noticed this and decided to convince her to talk to him.
"You know…you can speak your mind about anything to me Blake"ghira said as he looked at her.
"Theirs nothing to talk about dad"blake said as she gripped her right forearm tight.
"I know their is something bothering child. What worries you?"ghira asked
"Yes dear, you can tell your father. He just looking out for you is all"Sienna replied as she rocked sorrel a little. He was awake as he just looked around then he stared at yahto. Yahto glanced at the kid staring at him and wondered what he wanted.
But he didn't care because he wasn't that great arround kids and didn't really wanna risk dropping a baby.
Blake sighed at because their was something bothering her "its….what they told us about Adam. Almost like whenever I hear his names….it makes me freeze sometimes. They said he didn't return which make me wonder if he took my advice or is he planning. He could be out their harming more people or killin them."blake said
"I know what you mean and it is rather worrisome that he it still alvie and out their in the world. To think he wasn't like this some time ago. What went wrong with him?"ghira asked hismelf.
"Reall I thought the guy was laways mean or something? At least thats what I heard about him and Ollie"sun said
"No he was mainly misgudied. But Ollie…that boy has problems"ghira siad as he looked down.
"What do you mean by that?"yahto asked
"Ollie and Adam both came from an SDC mine together. Adam and him soon came here seeking refugee. But thoe two were like brothers always around each other"sienna replied
"But even though I took Adam in and the Blairs took Ollie in. They both wanted to try and create equality. But both took it the wrong way with their actions, they are our different paths"ghira added
"I guess…your right but I haven't faced all these demon yet. When I saw adam again….I thought I could help him. But he just spouted the same nonsense of killing all humans. When I saw him at the construction yard that night….I wanted to to kill him."blake said but stopped for a moment.
"But what dear, why did you choose not to"sienna asked knowingly.
"I choose….not to because I wasn't going to become him"blake finished.
Ghira slightly smiled at her as he embraced her with just one arm.
"You were never like him. You are you. Thats all that matters"ghira said. Sun looked glad seeing blake smiling a bit for once. Though he did rember something that he needed to tell Neo when she came back down.
Though she came down the stairs walking into the living room with the other in tow.
"Oh Neo there you are I got some news on your brother"sun said which made Neo and Colt curious about Vances whereabouts.
"You know where Vance is, is he here?"colt questioned
Neo walked over shaking the monkey faunus to tell her where her brother is. Sun became a little dizzy as he placed a hand on her to he looked at her in the eyes smiling.
"He's in Vacou right now staying with a friend of her fathers. But…there's another thing"sun said which made neo worry a little.
Then she pulled out her scroll texting on it then showed him it.
"What happened to Vance, is he hurt?!"her text read in all caps.
Sun shook his head"no he isn't hurt, he's been getting in fights lately. Him and Team NDGO especially, Gwen keeps talking smack about your cousin. And well gwen spread a bunch of rumors toward velvet."sun replied as neo glared who every this Gwen was, as blake felt anger hearing that as well
"Wait that girl they faced off in the first round at the vytal festival"Jazmine asked
"Yep, though he also blames cardin for some reason too"Sun added which confused the beacon group.
"Why is he blaming Cardin all of a sudden? Him and Zane were close, well after all the bullying, then started acting nicer to him "Blake replied remembering how those two went from enemies to friends.
"Oh that kid in the armor with the brown hair. I think I know who you're talking about"colt added because he remembered seeing him when he saw zane at his gym for the first time.
"Mhmm but apparently you see him, vel and some others tried to get him out of the city. Though Adder the guy from team BRAS attacked them. Russel was bleeding pretty bad and Zane…he went all monster on them"Sun said
Blake raised an eyebrow at this because Onxyia said he heard him speaking to her. That wouldn't make sense unless he took those supresants.
"That doesn't make sense he called onxyia before he….passed"blake replied
"Apprently from what I heard from Cardin and Velvet. He stayed behind….slowing adder down and killing any grimm in his way. "Sun replied sighing heavily
"Jeez that sounds creepy, seriously when they put that stuff on the tv. It creeped me out"jazmine added
"But the boy was viewed as a monster and a murder. "Verde added as his wife pinched him. He sighed as he put his hands up because he shouldn't call him that.
"Yeah well guess the guy redeems himself in a way. And now you guys know his killer"Sun replied
Ghira sighed at this"that doesn't mean you should take revenge on them if you do the cycle will only continue. Revenge is a terrible thing, it will never help you get closure."ghira spoke wisely.
But soon enough the front door opened and in stepped two familiar faunus. Nadia and Zoey walked in with Mari in tow. Piper was emerging from a small room off to the side as she stared at her aunt.
"Auntie!"piper exclaimed as she jumped on the women. Mari laughed a little as she picked the girl twirled her around in the air for a bit.
"Their you are dear, I hope she wasn't in trouble"mari asked kali while she held piper.
"No she wasn't…but its great to see you three"kali said trying to keep them relaxed before telling them the news.
"Its great to see you too Ma'am"zoey replied
"Its great to see you cat ears"nadia said as she hugged the women who returned it.
"Thank you dear for inviting us over for dinner tonight"nadia added as she walked from the front door. Then she turned into the dining room to see the large group of people here. But she noticed several familiar faces she was surprised to see.
"Wait a minute…Colt?"Nadia asked as the heavyweight boxer gently nodded to her.
"Hey walker…nice to see yah again"colt replied softly.
Nadia waked over offering a hug and the boxer embraced her. But he glanced to the side sighing internally to himself. She let him go as she tapped him on the right bicep with her metal arm.
He flicnehd a little as he started to rub it"seriously didn't have to hit me that hard"he groaned as nadia laughed.
"Sorry big guy not my fault your a big softy"nadia added smiling.
"Though in my opinion great to see you again uncle colt"zoey said as she hugged him and he returned it.
"It great to see you too kid…though I remember you being shorter"colt joked giving a small smile.
"Well sorry I grew up…though I probably won't be at your height old man"zoey replied as she took a seat on the couch. But then she looked over noticing Yahto and Neo here which confused her.
"Wait a minute Neo and Yahto?"zoey asked looking at the two surprised their here.
"Wait, you know him?"Blake questioned, a little surprised.
"Uhh yeah he hung out with lazuli alot. Came by a few times, though that means she got you watching Neo isn't it?"zoey asked knowingly as Yahto gently nodded yes.
Neo walked over to Zoey waving before the girl got up from her seat. Then she embraced the mute in a tight embrace holding her close.
"I'm sorry about uncle….he's in a better place now"zoey reassured her. Neo looked down as she hugged her back tight. But let a small tear escape because they'll have more bad news.
Nadia was stretching her arms as a loud pop could be heard from her shoulder. Then as she rubbed her arm she glanced over to see an old bengel faunus there. A big smile came over her face.
"Well…well..if it isn't my leader and partner Sienna Khan. What brings you to menagerie?"nadia asked slyly.
Sienna stood up holding sorrel in her arms."oh you know I had to help some kid return home. Also we have a new addition to the family."Sienna replied as she gestured to the sleeping sorrel.
Nadia eye lit up a little as she smiled at baby faunus"well isn't he adorable, whats his name?'' Nadia asked tickling sorrel on the cheek a little. He wiggled a little in his mothers arm.
"It's sorrel uh lady who was my mom's partner"aruna added jokingly as her tail swayed.
Nadia looked at the girl surprised to see her"huh guess the other one grew up it seems to be a fine young women"nadia complimented.
Aruna looked a little confused; she doens't recall every meeting this women in her life.
"Ummm have we met before, I don't recall meeting a tiger faunus with a metal arm"aruna asked
Sienna hummed a little as she sat down with sorrel"oh you did but when you were very young, you might not remember her dear"sienna said as everyone got comfortably in their own spots.
They sat their for a bit talking about a few things while they waited for oxnyia to arrive. She wanted to deliver the news to her so they didn't have to. But as they did Blake glanced at the wrapped weapons case.
"Its going to be a long night when she tells her"blake thought. Though she just hoped it will be quick, and no one starts a fight.
"Hey blake, what happened to your arm?"zoey asked looking at blakes new arm.
Blake lifted her arm up as she stared at then sighed"I lost it during the fall, Adam took it from me. But I…managaed to get used to it"blake replied smiling.
Nadia chuckled as she walked over placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Yeah…you may not like it after a few months. Probably wishing you had your other arm back, but be grateful you have that right now. But piece of advice watch out for phantom pain"nadia said wisly.
"I will ma'am…thank you"blake thanked with Nadia nodding to then sat back down as the group waited for their remaining guest.
Kali looked around and at a nearby clock a little worried. The blairs should have arrived by now fifteen minutes ago. Where could they be right now, she decided to bring it to their attention.
"Does anyone know where the blairs are?"kali questioned.
"Hmm I don't now Onxyia went on a walk early she should have been back by now"sun replied worried a little.
Zoey narrowed her gaze sighing"ok if I have to I could gather a few guards to find them"zoey suggested
"That should't be necessary dear, they'll be fine i'm sure their running late is all"verde replied as he held his wife hand. The two looked at each other smiling a little.
Neo was looking over the weapon case as it was still wrapped up. She sighed as she bent down picking it up. It clanekd a little and it was bigger than her. But she managed as she set it down on the table infront of everyone.
"Hmm what is this, is it someone's birthday?"mari asked as she sat near piper. Piper was busy humming to herself as Mari did the grimm faunus hair putting it in small braids.
"Its….something from someone we know"blake replied as she glanced at the weapon case.
"Really who–"nadia asked but then the front door was kicked open. Everyone scrambled to see what was going on. Then Declan walked in carrying Onxyia in his arms. As Katherine followed close behind her all looked worried wondering what happened.
"Declan what in the name of remn—"ghira asked but Declan interrupted him..
"Ghira we have a problem, an assassin attacked my daughter"declan interrupted which worried the others.
"What?"Blake asked in disbelief, it must have been the white fang. But why her, why did they want her dead.
Declan rushed to the couch as he placed her on the couch as she faced away from everyone crying to herself. She balled up a little as her ear flopped over. Verde examined her a little and the girl seemed alright.
"Hmmm she seem alright, their are no cuts, wounds or bruises"verde said as the group wondered what happened.
"Hey wolf ears you alright?"Sun asked a little concerned as onxyia just sat their crying softly. She grabbed her tail as she held it in her made the monkey faunus who was a little worried about exchanging glances with blake.
"Did the assassin say anything in particular to you?Did you see who it was"Zoey questioned as she cupped her chin.
"yes, but from what I could tell it was Ilia"declan replied which shocked blake.
"Wait Ilia but why would she go after Onxyia, her, Akasha and her were friends"blake said as Declan sighed at that. Then he noticed Nadia here as he shook his head, because their probably in the middle of telling her.
"It would seem so…but apparently something happened to her"declan replied
"What do you mean by that?"Sienna asked as she kinda guessed what he meant by that.
Katherine sat down as she sniffed, covering her eyes. She shook her head as kali noticed the women trying not to cry. The cat faunus walked over as she wrapped an arm around the wolf faunus.
"Dear whats wrong…why are you crying"kali asked concerned.
"its…Its Xander…Ilia…she said he was dead"Katherine said as Blake's face sunk at the mention of this.
Then she looked at onxyia who she now knew why she was crying. She just lost her brother and boyfriend now. Which meant she needed more help than every. Blake walked over sitting where onxyia layed.
"Onxyia are you alright?"blake asked as the girl stayed quiet, ignoring her it seems. The wolf faunus just kept crying like the first day at the clinic again.
Ghira sighed as he walked over to declan and offered an embrace to the man. The stoic wolf cracked as he took it and hugged the man. Declan let a few tears escape then let go.
"They…..killed my son, he's gone I should have been better to him"declan cried as the entire room got quiet
"Its alright my friend, were here for you"ghira replied reassuring the man.
Everyone sat their in silence waiting and letting their be a moment of silence. But soon onxyia decided to speak up. Although what she said was something that caused more heartbreak.
"Why…why did him…. and zane have to… die."onxyia said outloud not exactly relizing Nadia and Zoey were in the room.
Nadia went wide eyed at the mention of her son and she looked at her. Though her daughter looked a little concerned too.
"Wait…what do you mean by that?"zoey asked as she looked at the group. Nadia stood their frozen it seems as she gripped her metal arm. Then she looked at colt wondering why the man was here now.
Colt relzied this as he closed his eyes then opened them. He stared at his friend with an upset expression shaking his head at her.
"I'm sorry Nadia…but he…"colt begun stoping himself as he sat down holding his head.
"No..no..no"Nadia sat down muttering to herself several times as she covered her face. Sienna sighed as she handed sorrel over to verde. The doctor took his son gently holding him.
"Dear take the kids along with some of the others out of the room. We'll take to them"sienna asked as verde nodded
Alot of them left the room to let Sienna and Kali talk to the tiger faunus. Those who left the room was Yahto. Aruna,Verde, Sorrel,Jazmine, Ghire,Blake, sun,Piper and Mari. which left The blairs, kali,sienna, neo and colt with Nadia and Zoey.
Nadia sat their sniffing as she let some tears escape her eyes. She rubbed them as she stared at the wolf faunus who layed their silently. The she chuckled a little to herself.
"Funny joke Kali…..but he can't be dead, the new's said he was presumed dead. So Atlas probably has him or he's on the run"nadia said hoping that was true.
"Dear it's not a joke"Kali said with a serious and sadden expression as she layed a hand on nadia.
Zoey was sitting down crying right now that she just heard her little brother who she found after so long being dead again. As she sat their Neo sat their silently as she undid the sheet around the weapons undid the knot around it and kept doing this while other things happened.
Katherine was comforting her daughter as declan stared at his daughter. He had a worried look and one of concern of what she going through right now. But he glanced out of the corner of his eyes at what Neo was doing.
The mute was undoing the sheet around the strange object as she waited patiently for her aunt to see it. Colt meanwhile was placing a hand on zoey to comfort the girl.
"Please…just tell me you're lying…please"zoey begged as no one stood up to tell her it was a lie.
Onxyia sniffed a little before she pulled herself up. Then she felt around in her jacket and found what she was looking for. It was her scroll and she opened it going to a video message. She sighed as she could barely see through the tears.
But her mother noticed this as she gently picked the scroll up from her daughter hands. Onxyia just layed her head on her mother's shoulder crying. While katherine looked at the scroll and what was on it.
She looked and saw the words goodbye and a video attached to it. The mother got curious what this was pressing the button as the video same video message of his last words played.
"Hey guys its me the lovable joksteer of Team ZERO and leader of said team. You may be wondering why I'm sending you this message. Dammit this is going to be tough"Zane voice echoed as they heard a sigh and deep breath.
Nadia looked up from her spot toward Katherine who looked at her wide eye. She didn't really like what she was hearing.
"What is that?"Kali questioned, confused why she was playing a video right now.
"Its….from her son"katherine replied as nadia walked over what she was watching. She smiled a little seeing him their but it turned into a frown seeing him like had bruise on his arm and face, his armor was destroyed, along with several cuts.
Declan looked over his wifes shoulder at the video closing his this was he probably wanted his mother to see video kept going for a bit.
"You see after today with what….I did to Penny. I couldn't stop thinking about what I did to her. I felt…guilt, shame, regret and fear at the same time. I have her blood on my hands….and everytime I close my eyes now I see her bloody dead lifeless body"Zane echoed with regret in his voice.
Zoey covered her eyes shaking her head"god dammit little brother"she muttered to herself.
Nadia just watched with a face of worry and concern on what she was seeing. Her son who she hasn't seen in years. Now hearing he might be gone again and he sends a message that says goodbye.
"So the reason I'm sending this message to you all is because I don't…deserve to be your friend or someone special to one of you"Zane's voice echoed
Onxyia buried her face into her mother shoulder more as she looked at her with worry. Declan soften his gaze as he moved around taking a seat next to his daughter. She glanced at him as he returned a sadden expression.
Neo watched them listening to it as she decided to just show the weapon case. She walked over, throwing the sheet off it. As she did Nadia and Zoey looked at the box that contained his weapons.
"Why…do you have those?"Zoey asked as Neo looked away from her video kept going for a bit more.
"He wanted you to have them…to remember him"colt answered as he looked at the video continued more as Nadia and Zoey listened
"Everytime i'm in that form….my mind isn't right. I…lose control…and everytime I turn into that monstrous form. I almost killed someone…and now that it finally happened…..i'm scared. If that happens again I'm scared… I could kill one of you"Zane's voice continued as he shifted to his slasher form then his titan form. But he grabbed his side in pain, coughing violently.
Nadia just looked at this upset seeing her only son that she got back in pain and seems to be scared right now.
"So he was protecting you"declan muttered as he looked at his daughter who gently nodded to him. The older wolf faunus rubbed his forehead shaking his head.
All those things he just said about him saying how he could have killed her. But the boy knew that was a risk, but he felt a little bad about what he said. Sienna sighed as she looked at Nadia who looked dejected at what she was video kept playing more.
"That's why….i'm staying in Vale. I helped cause this mess, might as well help fix it. You may think I'm coming back…but I won't be. I know….I know you're all going to try and save my ugly mugg from dying. "Zane's voice echoed, sounding scared with labored with a coughing fit being heard.
Declan watched him cough up blood as Zane looked at it. Then he wiped it on his shirt and stared at the camera.
"Was that blood?"declan asked which made a few ears perk up.
"What do you mean by blood?"Zoey asked scared what he meant.
Though her mother just covered her mouth at the sight of that. A few more tears escaped her eyes as she looked at her son who was practically dieing on couldn't stand seeing this happen it felt like her heart was getting torn apart.
"The only time that hapens if your ribs are broken. From what I can see how hes holding his side. It means a lung was puncture maybe"katherin sorrowful said
"No…please don't…not my baby"nadia softly said as the video kept playing out.
"But don't….just leave me to do something right for once. Although I guess I won that bet mom…I don't gotta run around remnant naked. "Zane said before he was interupted a little by nadia giving a small chuckle.
"God dammit…..you stupid litlte jokesteer"nadia said as she smiled a little but quickly turned to sadness again.
"Dear your not going to like what he has to say next"sienna warned as Nadia stared at her worried.
"What do you mean by that Sienna?"kali asked as Sienna sighed waiting for the next thing he was going to the video kept playing out it came to that part.
"Though if you were watching you saw what they did to me there. They…tore something out of me..or put something in their.I might as well get more secrets out…i've tried to off myself several times before this. To end this cycle of pain….or prevent me from killing someone due to that bastard watts controling me"zane voice echoed as they kept listening.
Nadia covered her eyes as she heard at the mention of sucide. She didn't wanna believe he would do something like that.
"He would never say something like that"nadia said in disblief at what her son just said.
"No…he…why would he talk about something like that"Zoey asked as she looked at onxyia who finally began to speak. Katherine paused the video to let her daughter speak.
"He…talked about nightmares sometimes. How he's in some lab, how he gets something put in his with that… this wasn't the first time it happened being control by him."onxyia said getting their attention.
"What do you mean the first time?"colt asked as he didn't know about this.
"You mean he killed someone before?"nadia questioned worried what her son did.
"No…when we went on that mission and found piper. That man Watts was their, he said something that made him stop in his tracks and listen to all his commands."onxyia replied not exactly finding that day pleasant.
Nadia clenched her fist hard at whoever this man was, right now if she every saw him. She'll personally punch his jaw off.
"Little cub, that would mean he tried to kill you wouldn't it"Declan said knowingly as the girl didn't asnwer. But it seemed to answer their question as she just closed her eyes taking a deep breath to calm herself.
Katherine decided to play the video but accidentally skipped forward a little. As she did she hit play and this part wasn't something she didn't want to listen to first word she heard was exactly something she didn't wanna hear.
"Wolfie…bun.. I'm sorry I gotta do this to you. But you seem to be the one person on our team to always try to look toward the positives. Even though you've lost your cool sometimes it's understandable. Though that night…when you said yes to the dance made me the happiest person 't hide that little gem of yours and be…true to yourself about your velvet your a smart girl heck smarter than each other alright. Vel try to come out of your shell more…love the both of you"Zane echoed
The girl balled up a little as she narrowed her gaze, shaking her head. She could barely see through the tears but she could hear layed a hand on her daughter back to comfort her.
From what she heard it seems they cared about each other alot from what was said. But right now she seemed to have lost more loved ones.
Declan was a little happy hearing someone compliment his daughter for that. People used to make fun of her for her eye back then. But he was a little anger that he would do this too her. He left her a message instead of just telling it himself.
"But gotta wrap this up to everyone i;ve met at Beacon. You were all great friends and continue the good fight against grimm. Also mom and sis….I love you guys and I'm sorry to be leaving you ….don't….get mad at…my teammates or friends…please"Zane voice finished as the video stopped.
Nadia just stared at the ground then looked toward the case on the table. She shook her head as she walked over to it. The tiger faunus looked at the contents and just knelt down looking at it. She placed her hand on it as a couple tears fell on the glass.
"I lost him again….why does this world hate me"nadia said as she began to cry more tears.
"Nadia it doesnt hate you its just…"kali tried to find the words but couldn;t
"Just what?that for some reason i'm being punished, for what."nadia replied looking at everyone in the room
" Did god decide to punish me for how I acted back then"nadia added as she carrassed her hand against the case.
"No dear, it just the world works in mysterious ways sometimes. "Kali finished as she closed her eyes.
Nadia just stared down as she just covered her eyes crying again. While her daughter sat their holding her head relizing she lost her little brother again for the second time. Two families lost a son and brother how will they recover from this.
It seems that ilia just revealed something shocking to the wolf that her brother was killed by ollie which just broke her. Though nadia had to hear the most heartbreaking thing in remannt, the son she just got back is already gone. And she is probably devastated right now for the lose of one of her kids.
