Chapter 18 Black and White:Speech
It was a new morning in the belladonna household. Everyone in the house was stirring awake it seems right was already up and changed as she was heading downstairs. She rubbed her eyes with her right hand.
Last night was a little rough because Aruna moves around alot in her sleep. She accidentally hit her a few times waking her up. But she got some decent sleep so she could move around for today.
As she walked downstairs she heard a few voices downstairs suggesting everyone else was up. Once she got downstairs she turned corner to the dinning room. Their she saw Declan,Onxyia,her father and mother along with the rest of sienna family up. Yahto was their also along with sun. Her father had some glasses on as he was reading a piece of paper
As blake walked in Sun noticed the sleepy cat faunus.
"Hey look whos up finally man what took you soo long"sun said
Blake stretched her arms a little"well I didn't get that much sleep"blake said glancing at aruna. The girl looked away for a second trying not to make eye contact with blake. Though sienna knew why the girl was mad. She recalled how her daughter moved around alot in her sleep.
"Seriously Aruna we gotta find something to keep you active"sienna said as she at her breakfast. Sorrel was in a small basket next to her and Verde. But he just sleeping their soundly.
"Hey sorry if I got alot of energy"Aruna retorted as her tail swayed as she crossed her arms under her bust.
"Really that involve kicking me in the side four times"blake joked a little as she sat down.
Aruna shrugged her shoulder nervously smiling as she just ate her breakfast. As Blake sat their soon her mother produced a plate in front of her. It was some oat meal along with some sliced fruit.
"Thanks mom"blake said as kali gently nodded to her daughter as she gave out breakfast.
Blake dug into her breakfast and as she did she looked around a little. Especially toward the blairs because last night was a little tough on them. Though onxyia seems to be handling it okay. But as blake examined her she noticed something strapped to her waist, a familiar katana.
But before she could answer the sound of footsteps could be heard coming down the looked near the doorway to see Neo and Jazmine coming down to join them.
Kali noticed this smiling a little"their you two are I thought you were going to sleep in."kali state
Jazmine walked over taking a seat next to blake while Neo sat across. Kali walked over as she placed down some plates in front of the two.
"Well…we kinda slept in a little"jazmine replied rubbing her head as she smiled a smiled a little too as the two other cat faunus notice this.
Blake and her mother exchanged some looks that they know what happened. Seems she did get that from her mother it seems. Though she rather not tease her right now, not yet at lease.
"Alright, though I have a question for someone"blake said as she looked over at onxyia who was looking over remorse.
"Why do you have his katana?"blake asked as Sun was close by wondering what she meant.
"Wait what, I thought Nadia was going to keep it. She was all torn apart about it"sun questioned wondering why she had.
Onxyia looked at the blade while talking"I went to check on her this morning, we talked about some things"onxyia began.
"Really like what?"yahto asked as he crossed his arms joining in.
"That sometimes the choices we make have consequences. We never know what will happen, but he knew the risk if he was ever controlled again"onxyia replied
"Look I can agree he could have probably gone all psycho on it…still kinda harsh even if you were his girlfriend"sun added
"Along with that what about Xander?"yahto added in
The wolf faunus frowned a little"i've known ollie for a long time, hes a compulsive lier,manipulator and trickster. He may have lied about his and akasha death to ilia. But..if they are gone..I miss them"onxyia answered
Blake looked at her because the girl seemed to have a small bit of hope her brother could be alive. Which was good because it meant she wasn't just mopping around right now. Though nadia still must be troubled by the news of her sons death.
"But why did she give you remorse?"neo signed to onxyia
"She said he used it protect our teammates along with bun, I should do the same. Wherever those two are right now, i'm sure i'll find them"Onxyia simply replied
Declan smiled a little at this as he walked over placing a hand on his daughter shoulder.
"If you want I could teach you how to properly work with that blade later"declan suggested as his daughter gently nodded yes.
They continued to have breakfast for a bit while they dug into their rspective plates of breakfast. While Ghira was going over his speech he had prepared the night before with declan as he wanted to be able to convey his message to the faunus of menagerie though it did make him worry a little due to the information of assassins and ollie in menagerie.
"Is something wrong father?"jazmine asked getting ghira attention.
"Ntohing wrong some thoughts i'm sorting out right now"ghria said stroking his daughter head. Jazmine tired to stop him but relented letting it happen.
"Dad no offense or anything you don't have a great poker face. "Blake said
"Yeah neos is probably better than yours"aruna pointed out as Neo then shifted her appearance into ghira. Ghira looked at the girl a little annoyed but kept his stoic face. Then she changed back to her normal appearance eating breakfast.
"Though is something wrong?"blkae asked this time already knowing what he was worried about..
"I fear that maybe my speech may not get fully through to them. That it will not convey the seriousness of the actions by the White Fang. Which is why I am thinking of you joining me on the podium Blake."ghira added
"You…want me to join you. Are you sure thats wise dad?"blake asked. Ghira only nodded
"Yes I believe you can help me convey my message more clearly. Someone who has experience what the White Fang is capable of."ghira said
"Are you sure, sienna could–"blake begun but the women stopped her.
"Blake dear I haven't been in the white fang for almost twelve years right now. I left it to your father so I could take care of my family. "Sienna added
"Trust your father judgement, he is a wise man"Declan added
Blake thought for a moment of their idea before she nodded in agreement.
" do it. When are you planning on giving your speech?"she asked
"Half hour before one dear"ghira stated.
"Okay. Though we should checkout where out guy got the material for those bomb."blake said as she finished up her breakfast.
"I'll come too"sun added in as she got up from his spot.
"Same here might as well have some backup"yahto added joining in as well.
"Stay safe you three and don't try to play hero if things get tough"kali warned.
"Come on Ms.B we got this"Sun said in confidence reassuring her.
"Don't worry with the three of us, it'll be fine. Hopefully we can get some information"blake said as she picked up her weapon and strapped it too her hip before heading toward the door though as she did Jazmine looked at them as they left.
"Should we follow them?"Jazmine aksed
"No..though I am rather curious about another thing. Its Fennac and Corsac. Something about them doens't sit right with me"he stated
"Dear?what exactly are you planning?"kali asked
"Jazmine,Neo. I want you to spy on Fennac and Corsac. Find out what they could be up safe"ghira warned.
"We will dad"Jazmine smiled as her and Neo finsiehd their breakfast before going to do the task her father gave them.
"You sure she'll be fine dear?"kali questioned as ghira nodded
"She will be fine honey. Both our daughter have epxeirnce and they know whenever their is trouble is to back away. They'll be fine"ghira reassured her though that still didn't discourage her worry.
"Kali dear i've seen your kid in action, she is well trained and experience for the task. Along with having some backup they'll be fine."sienna reassured the women but she still had worry.
Meanwhile with Blake,sun and yahto they were once again out in the market but this time they had a destination in mind as they were walking toward the vendor that gave the man the bad as the lady in the vendor was handing out her usual items.
"Okay so how do you two wanna approach this?nice and slow or quick and easy"Sun asked
"I'm thinking nice and slow"blake replied
"Yeah we don't wanna scare the women"yahot as they approached the lady vendor. However the lady noticed them as she froze slightly before gulping nerovusly.
"Oh um….good morning"She greeted them
" anything good?"sun asked
"W-well we have lot of assortment of herbs, ceremonial bowls. "The woman stated
"Hmm really interesting"yahto added as he looked at her goods in question tapping his chin.
"Along with bomb material"blake added as the woman froze in place almost like she was a deer staring into a pair of headlights.
"I-i don't know what you're talking about"the woman faunus stated nervously.
"Don't try and play innocent act with us. We saw you yesterday hand that guy a bag of bomb materials to the guy"sun replied
"Along with making you apart of them as well"yahot added
"No! I would never join them.I just…"the woman said looking away from them.
"You just…what?"blake asked gesturing her to continue.
The woman sighed before facing them again"I didn't exactly have a choice in the matter. They found me okay. I wasn't planning on doing anything for them"the stated
"So you were forced into giving them what they wanted"blake said as the woman nodded
"Yeah. I have a family to protect and I was worried they do something horrible to them"the woman said
"Standard scare tactic. They threaten your family and force you to do something that you don't want to do"Yahto concluded
Blake shook her head though she noticed a tattoo on the womans arm that looked like she was part of the military at some point in her life. It was in the form of a snowflake with two bars underneath it.
"That tattoo right their. Military i'm assuming?"blake asked as the woman nodded
"2nd division Atlas Miltary. Explsovie division"the woman said proudly.
"Well know wonder they tracked you down specifically. You have the know how to make a bomb and how to get the material"sun said
"Guess your right on that. Though I only fear if they come back and ask for more material. It took me a week to gather what they wanted. Plus they could hurt my family"the woman said.
"Don't worry. We'll take care of the white fang. Though maybe there is something you can tell us. The visitors that come to you for material. You know who they look like right?"blake asked as the woman nodded
"Then maybe you can give us a describe them to us. That way we can weed them out."blake said
"Are you sure that'll be safe. What if they track that it was me that told you who they were?"The woman questioned worrignhly.
"If were going to stop the white fang we have to dwindled there number. We can't be afraid to stand up to them ."blake encouraged. The woman thought for a moment before going toward the back of her vendor for a pad and paper before beginning to write down the people that came to her for suppiles.
"Here if you can find them and get them off the streets. Thats fine by me"the woman said as Blake nodded taking the paper.
"Thank you. We'll take care of them."blake said as she folded the paper then putting it in her pocket.
"Stay safe."Sun said as the three of them left the vendor.
"Alright now what?"yahto asked
"Now…we go searching for these people that are connected to the White Fang and stop them."blake said as the three of them began making their way back to the house to come up with a plan first.
Meanwhile Neo and Jazmine were on the prowl looking for fennac and corsacs place so that way they could figure out just what they could be up to. Though they were having difficulty finding the place because jazmine knew the island inside and out.
"Ughh I they should be around here somewhere but where"Jazmine said as she looked around but not having very much luck. Though as they walked Neo spotted something ahead of them which was Corsac. He seemed to be heading somewhere right now. Neo tapped jazmine shoulder getting her attention.
"Whats up find something?"jazmine asked as neo pointed looked seeing corsac there and the two thought this might be the perfect opportunity. They nodded to each other before starting to follow him but from a distance so he couldn't see them. Though neo change her appearance to a random faunus. She did stand out with all that pink on her.
They followed him for a bit until he left kuo kuana and headed deep into the woods that seemed out of the way which kind amade them wonder where he was going. They followed him stealthy for another ten minutes as they were clearly out of the village as she walked upon a dirt path that seemed to almost to endless. However what they saw ahead of them made them go wide eyed with shock.
Right in front of them is a red with a face of a wolf with three slash marks running through it. It was the white fang main base and corsac was heading inside it. The place itself looked fortified from the way around as it has thick wooden walls with spikes on top of each.
"Well that just peachy. He led us straight to home base right here on menagerie. Dad gonna flip when he finds out"jazmine said to neo.
"But how are we gonna get in?"jazmine thought as her and neo stealthy walked around to find another way inside and see what their planing. They walked around the perimeter as it wasn;t exactly easy. They found another entrance but she was a women. Then before Jazmine knew it neo shifted her appearance to a small faunus child. Jazmine smiled at this.
As the female guard stood their she heard rustling in some bushes. She aimed her weapon at the bushes waiting for something to come out.
"Hands up who their"she ordered as she approached it.
Then out fell a small faunus boy with lynx ears on his head. He looked at her titling his head at her.
The women lowered her rifle"huh a kid…what are you doing out here?"She questioned.
The lynx faunus who was actually Neo titled his head at her again. Which seemed to annoy the woman. Then she glared at him for a bit before noticing a scar on his neck.
"Oh you can't talk"the guard said as the lynx nodded
"Well if your lost go back down that road for a way until you reach a cross road. Then take the path on your right sweetie"the guard motioned.
The lynx faunus as neo nodded before running off waving to the women. The guard chuckled a little as she went back to her post. But as this happened jazmine snuck past her and find cover so she wasn't spotted. Jazmine wasn't spotted a larger tent which she figured that was where Corsac and Fennec were being stationed. She also looked around and seeing alot of white fang member carrying weapons almost as if their preapring for battle.
Jazmine moved through in some tall grass in order to get toward the larger tent making sure to avoid detection from the other members. Luckily she got close enough so that she could hear them and much to her surprise they weren't the only one their as she heard a male voice, female voice and ilia was their as well.
"How are the preparations going?"ollie asked
"Um..we've ran into a few snags. The material to create the necessary bombs required to destory the tower in msitral have unfortunately been taken and our man arrested."corsac replied
Ollie grunted at this not happy what he just heard"that dam cat…she must have done something to do this or that bitch of a wolf. "He said
"Along with that a certain monkey faunus and human as well with her. Sun Wukong if i'm correct. We don't know the boy, but he seems to be a bodyguard"corsac added
Jazmine heard a slamming sound before he cotninued speaking"very well. Then it time to make an appearance at Ghira little speech to the faunus of menagerie. Remind them what humans have done to us. They'll understand that where doing this is because its the only way humans will respect us"Ollie said
"But what about the bomb material brother Weaver"fennac asked
Ollie chuckled"don't worry about that I got some friends that will provide the materials. "Ollie replied proudly.
"Though their are also more situation at hand. Ilia here was seen by that Onxyia girl and she may be expecting another attack after last time"Rennac replied
"Oh I know but don't worry about that little ilia here has another task. And yenna here will make sure she completes it. Isn't that right"ollie threatened
"U-um y-yes sir"ilia replied nerovusly.
"Thats a good girl, learn your place or you'll suffer the same fate as those traditors that ran out on us"ollie replied
"But what of those humans with them, sienna is here which could present a problem"corsac added
"Don't worry about that old hag, but as for the humans. Their kind isn't welcome here and we'll eliminate them just like the rest of them. We have to prove to them that we are the superior speices and we must be respected"ollie stated
"I understand brother ollie. We will do all we can for the white fang."corsac stared as they both bowed slightly.
"Now you two return to your post and await further instruction .You two I got a task for you"ollie ordered as the two headed out of the larger tent. But Iilia and this yenna stayed.
"What is it sir"a female voice said probably Yenna.
"You two are too continue as planned. Though i'll give you another task after the one today"ollie said
"But if I think how this mission will go at the rally, you better not fail your task later…got it"ollie mephasized as he gripped Ilia throat. He began to squeeze her throat a little as she choked. Then she nodded to him as he smiled. Once he let go he pushed her to the side as him and yenna went inside.
As ilia sat on the ground coughing she landed very close to Jazmine. Jazmine covered her mouth making sure not to make a sound. As she did Ilia was coughing to get air back in her lungs and as she did she looked through the grass. She went wide eyed as she saw jazmine their. Jazmine noticed this thinking she was caught but something happened.
"Go tell Ghira"ilia whispered to jazmine surprising her. Before she could say anything else ilia got up walking away holding her throat. But she gently nodded to Jazmine letting her know she was safe it seems.
Jazmine heard all that she needed too and steathily excited the White Fang base and got far enough until running into Neo. Though the girl did startle her at first. But she motioned for the girl to follow her and when they were a good distance away they sprinted back home to tell ghira her father of what she just heard.
When they were back in the village they ran straight back to the house luckily Blake,Yahto and sun had just gotten back as well as they were talking up the steps.
"Jazmine?Neo? Whats the rush?"blake asked the two.
"Lets just say we've got something to tell dad that I think you might wanna hear too"jazmine said as the five of them headed inside.
Ten minutes later the entire group heard everything that jazmien todl them. Ghira hummed at what jazmine said
"I see…so fennac and corsac are the spies as I suspected. Thought what concern me is what ollie could be planning"ghira addes
"But their also their mysterious friends who are they talking about?"yahto added confused
""Though one thing is bothering me…why did ilia not notify them of your presence?"sienna asked
Jazmine just shrugged her shoulder"I-I don't know, she told me to go tell dad. She seemed scared…afriad even, but their seemed to be a bit of fire in her eyes"jazmien replied
Onxyia smiled a little at this"it seem's she doens't believe in their cause anymore. Which means we got our own spy"onxyia added
Ghria storked his beard"yes, it appears we do. But she may still be hesitant to help us with taking them down. Do not approach her if that happens they may execute her on site"ghira warned as they nodded.
"But from what I'm hearing we should call this whole thing off. They could be planning an assasisnation. Something we cannot risk dear"kali said
"But if we do then they'll know something is amiss and take action. I'll have Saber and his men standing by in case of such an event occurs."ghira assured.
"Don't forget me sir"a voice said as they turned to see zoey their in her guard uniform.
"Zoey I thought you were mourning the loss of your brother"kali questioned
The fox faunus closed her eyes"Look I really miss him, but right now their something big going on. Once were done, i'll mourn for him alright"zoey replied
Ghira sighed as he placed his hands together"very well that will do, just be careful dear."ghira warned as Zoey nodded
"I'll also be joining you, a former leader of menagerie and the white fang will help get the message across."Sienna added
"An excellent idea, it will be just like old times"ghira replied as Sienna smiled a little.
"Now i Must examine my paper before this afternoon."ghira said as he left the group. Blake also had something she wanted to look at in her room as she walked upstairs behind her went upstairs as well to check on sorrel in her and verde room.
Kali only sighed"this is starting to escalate. I just hope this won't boil over"she said worrignyl.
"Me too to"Onxyia added as they waited for the right time too come.
It was about twelve fifteen with not much time left before ghira speech as Blake was in her room looking through some of her own personal belonging. More importantly she dragged out a box from under her bed that was unmarked but she already knew what it was and what it contained. She opened the box as on top of it was a blue sash with a white wolf face on it as she looked at it with a content look on her face.
"To think…we came from peacemaker to murders. Wish things were different back then"blake said to herself.
"Sometimes I still wonder if this is worth it or it's a pointless struggle that we should just give up and keep our head down. "Blake said again not even knowing that someone was behind her.
"You know taking to yourself will make people think your going crazy"sun said as she turned to see him leaning in the doorway a cocky look on his face.
"Do you know not to sneak up on people?"Blake said
"Sorry about that"he said scratching the back of his head before noticing what she was holding
"Is that…the olf white fang banner"he sked pointing at the object.
Blake held it close to her before she nodded"yeah…this was our symbol before thing took a turn for the worse. And to think I actually joined that cause to take our equality by force. I was such a idiot back then."Blake said looking away from sun.
"But just liek your dad siad you figured it out on your own didn't you. Along with that seems more people had the same idea as you. Thats gotta count for something right"he added
"All I did was run away. My semblance even reflect that. Summoning a clone to take the hit for me while I just run away. And now with Ollie and him threatening Ilia to cooperate or she dies. It…things are just becoming too much too handle"blake said
Sun walked over to Blake and put a hand on her shoulder"hey i'm sure things will work out. They always find a way to unravel themselves somehow. We got to help it along a little"sun added with a smile.
Blake only seemed to huff"you know you can be very optimistc"she stated
"Hey I try to be. Can't let a little doom and gloom slow me down right. "He said giving her shoulder a light tap.
Jazmine then showed up at her bedroom door"hey lovebirds. Dads speech is about to start. Better head down"she said
"Be right down…and i'm dating someone else"blake said back as Jazmine shook her head as she headed back downstairs.
"Welp…better get this over with"blake said as the both of them walked out of the bedroom and headed downstairs toward the outside as to mentally preapre herself for whats to come.
Twelve thirty came and news spread like wildfire as the faunus of menagerie had gathered in front of the belladonna household as their was some muttering about what the chief had to speak about. In front is a wooden podium where ghira stood alongside with some of Zoey and Sabers guards their. Along with the two faunus guard captains their themselves. Saber looked worried a little but the girl assured him she was fine.
To his left were Blake and Jazmine as they stood silently as Sun,Sienna and Kali were in the background but close by was Yahto and Neo. Neo used her semblance to hide in the crowd just incase. While Yahto hide near a building watching out for anything suspicious. All on their guard almost expecting to happen.
Ghira raised his hand causing the muttering to sotp as the crowd was now compeltlty silent. Then Ghira spoke.
"Thank you all for coming today. I want to take this opportunity to address the state of unrest and rumors that have been circulating around our island. I believe that it is important for the people of this territory to understand the truth. Regardless how we feel about the human race, I think we all can come to an agreement that the event known as the Fall of Beacon was a tragedy to both our kinds. While the aggressors that caused the attack is unknown I have confirmation that is was a splinter group fo white fang that attacked Beacon with Adam Tarus and Ollie Weaver leading the attack"he began as he heard murmurs starting to form in the crowd.
"The actions these two made has tarnished an organization that was created that meant for peace and equlity to all. However it is with deep concern that their whereabouts are at this moment unknown but with each dat that passes these men have been left unpunished for their actions."he continued with Blake feeling his words not just touching her but the people as well.
"My relationship with the White Fang has been a rather interesting one indeed. After Sienna left her position to raise her family, she handed the torch to me. For years I lead the organziation down a path that every faunus wished for, where we can walk beside the human race as eqauls and not enmies. When I stepped down I believe my ideals would be carried on throughout the White Fang but it appears that I was wrong. Brothers, sister, father, mothers of menagerie we must not give up our hope nor our dream to walk beside those that despise oru kind and let them understand that we aren't so different from them as they are from us. And here with us today my daughter has experience the goodness of the human kind and I would like her to share her expeirnance at this time"Ghira said as he stepped off the podum and gesutred toward his daughter to take the podium
Blake gulped nerovusly as she stepped forward at the podium as she took a breath but before she got to speak someone from the crowd spoke up ver loudly.
"TRADITORS!"a rather vocal woman shouted as the crowd dispersed quickly revealing Ilia and Yenna standing in the center.
"It doens't matter what we do the humans still treat all like were nothing but dirt under their heels. The White Fang is taking the necessary measure into their own hands by making these insignificant pest respect us even if they have to fear us as doing everything for our kind and here you all listening to the rambling of an old man that says we should go back to the old ways. What about the faunus that were given no justice for their deaths. Like her"yenna gestured to Ilia who sighed as she stepped crowd muttered a little as this happened.
"My own parents were mugged and left brutally stabbed in an alleyway. I asked for help but no….all those humans every did was walk on by like it was nothing. Along with that my own girlfriend was killed by humans. Because she was just minding her business and they killed her. The reason being was that she tried stopping a human from hurting another faunus."Ilia said flicning a little at the part about Akasha.
Blake looked at her worried because her expression suggested she forcing herself to say these things. She did blame humans for killing her parents, along with helping her save them. But akasha cared for her deeply, she probably didn't even wanna say those words.
That was when sienna had enough and intervened"and how much blood will be spilled till you get what you want?! Hundred…thousands? It doens't matter how many human or faunus blood is spilled it will only lead to nothing but more conflict and death. You must understand if you continue down this path of destruction all that you'll find nothing but pain and anguish. Only through patiences and compromise that this gap between the humans can ever get any beter. Violence will only widen that very gap"sienna spoke which seemed to get the people to understand as the sound of muttering was heard.
Yenna glared at the former leader of the White Fang words"You traditor! You betrayed out kind to wed some human! All for what to show them how we are equals!"Yenna shouted smugly.
"All I see right now in front of me are people trying to force their will onto its citizen of menagerie. They have the decision to join your cause or not. Along with having no right to force your ideals on them. "Sienna began as she put her arms behind her back.
"Along with that I married that man because of who he was. He didn't care if I was just some faunus, he cared for who I was. He also believes we can become equals with human kind. We just need to be on the right path to accomplish that. And no one will join an organziation who kills their members if they leave or disobey orders."Sienna fired back as the crowd muttered looking at Yenna and ilia.
Yenna growled at this deciding she had enough of talking as she pulled out her weapon and tranformed it into a machine pistol. She fired several shots as the crowd took cover. Onxyia quickly dove tackling sienna to the ground as the bullets missed her.
That was when Neo and Yahto jumped out of their hiding spot with weapons drawn. Sun then jumped in drwing his weapon turning it into a pole form and used it to polvalt over to where Yenna and Ilia where. Ilia attempted to strike at him but he dodged it. Yenna fired at yahto and he dodged the bullet by quikcly taking cover behind some crates. Neo rushed in with her parasol up as yenna fired at her. The bullet bounced off it as she charged into yenna throwing her back. Yenna quickly recovered in the air landing on her two feet.
Though the Hyenna faunus thought of something before whistling to ilia. She turned and nodded as the two then began to run away to escape for now.
"After them! Don't let them get away!"zoey ordered as her and Saber men gave chase after ilia and yenna.
Despite the interruption it was best thing sended their before things got worse as their was still chatter about what had just occurred as the crowd started to disperse.
"Do you think that had gotten through to them?"Blake asked
"I wish I knew the answer to that dear. For now I believe we had enough excitement for today."ghira said as they decided to head back inside the house as they pondered what to do next. Blake looked back at the crowd and sleintly prayed that his voice and sienna got through to them and Ilia as well.
Hours past as it was now nighttime as Zoey and Saber came to give their report to ghira.
"We;ve search just about eveyrwhere sir. I'm afraid that she has evaded us"Zoey reported
"Yes, even with the others help we couldn't catch the two. They split off from each other and we lost sight of both of them"Saber added
"Thank you Saber,Zoey. Call of the search for now and get some rest. You two must be tired from the search"ghira replied
"Of course sir. We'll start again in the morning"Saber said as him and zoey slightly bowed to ghria before leaving his doorship with him closing the door. Kali was pouring drinks for everyone minus sun who was sheltering elsewhere and Sienna were with them.
"I'm guessing they didn't find those two"kali spoke as Ghira shook his head.
"Afraid not. She must've eluded them somewhere we just do not know where"ghira as he sat down he noticed blake wasn;t with them.
"Wheres Blake?"he asked
"Out of the balcony she said she needed some air. Jazmine, Neo,Yahto along with Aruna have turned in for the night especially after today."kali said pouring her drink.
"Yes, right now I just put sorrel to bed. I'll go check on him in a bit"verde said as he cupped his drink.
Ghira took his cup and held it in his hand"I wish their was more I could do. I feel that…I haven't been a good chief lately. Have I done enough or do I need to do more?"he said. He then felt a hand on his as he looked to his wife staring at him.
"Now don't you start that kind of talk. Sienna believed that you wre ready to lead menagerie as the chiefiten and i'm sure she made a wise choice"kali said looking over at sienna.
She shummed at this"yes, I believe you were the perfect person for the job. Your address the problems right now that we can help solve. "Sienna said
"All we can do now is have a little faith and that thing will get better. I know that it is a ling shit but right now thats all we have"kali said before giving her husband a kiss on the cheek.
"Lets not swet on that for now okay hun"kali added
"Yes, we don't want you breaking that stoic reputation you have."sienna added
Ghira smiled as he chuckled before returning the kiss to his wife"how did I end up with a woman like you"he said sweetly.
"Oh you know all those dates and everything before you finally proposed"kali said before taking a sip of her drink.
"Along with Calida pressuring you to ask him out"sienna playfully added as kali chuckled at this.
"That woman, she was so bubbly back then. She still is i'm pretty sure"kali replied
"Hmm remember the time during the vytal festival that when you saw Ghiras team. You immediately became smittened for him"sienna added smiling
"And if I recall dear you immediately fell for me after our first date."Verde joked as sienna narrowed her gaze pinching him. Verde laughed as he warped an arm around her shoulder.
He chuckled at this"I remember her asking me out all nervous and had trouble saying it. Though shall we retire for the night dear"ghira asked
Kali nodded as they both finished their drink and decided to retire for the night as they all had arather trying day. Sienna and Verde stayed up a little before retiring upstairs. They didn't want to wake sorrel up just yet.
Meanwhile upstairs on the balcony outside her room Blake was staring off into the night only wondering what Ollie could be up to. She was tempted to go after ilia and yenna by herself though she knew her parents wouldn't like that. Along with mostly everyone that being sun,yahto, neo, colt, onxyia dragging her back by the ear if they wanted to. Though she couldn'thelp but grasp the rialing of the balcony almost like she was trying to break the wood.
"Keep doing that and you'll get a splinter cat cars"onxyia said behind her as she walked over to blake side.
"Doing what exactly? And I thought you were sleeping at your house?"blake aksed. Onxyia chuckled as she raised an eyebrow like she knew.
"I decided to stay for tonight, along with dads snoring. I forgot how he snores like a woodchipper"onxyia said as blake chuckled a little.
Onxyia paused for a moment before speaking"also i've known you for so long your an open book. Your thinking that ollie will make a move soon that it'll caue more problem here. I know you want to do something and I do to. But we need to wait it out"onxyia said
"I know that but…I feel terrible about what their doing to ilia"blake replied
The wolf faunus sighed heavily as she looked over the balcony"that I can agree with….if it is true akasha dead. She must be going through something right now. Those two seemed perfect for each other"Onxyia said
"I know Ilia was so kind back then. She just wanted to make the world a better place for the faunus. But then things started to go downhill for her when her parents died. They were getting mugged and her dad tried to stop him. But they killed him then her mother. The muggers left soon after leaving ilia their by herself. She begged for help and no one gave her it. "Blake started
"That day she changed wanting to get revenge against all those humans. That day she joined the White Fang and became an active member, taking part in raids and other things as well. I remember the day me and you met"blake said as onxyia laughed.
"Yeah we've known each other for soo long, but that mission to raid a faunus labour camp. You got to meet Akasha and Jae. Those two despite being in that group always looked toward the positive. Along with the night before me and Jae tricking akasha on asking her out"onxyia replied as blake laughed.
"Oh my god I remember that, after the mission the two kept glancing at each other several times. Those two seemed to look out for each other whent heir at their worse. I'm guessing when that order came in to kill any member who left. She must have been scared and akasha probably understood. Maybe me and you leaving wasn't a bad idea, but it probably effect her"blake said
"Hey us leaving was probably the best thing we did, it seemed to make other people think what were doing was wrong"onxyia added
"Yes but I hoped ilia will relzie soon that just how bad the white fang has gotten. Akasha wouldn't want this….I fear that shes just too afraid what will happen to her once she leave"blake said as she hugged herself.
"Maybe…she may di–"blake begun as onxyia stopped her.
Onxyia then placed her arms around blake and engulfed her into a hug bringing her close.
"Don't worry were not going to let that happen we'll help her understand that this wouldn't make akasha or her parents happy. Even if we have to beat some sense into her or remind her of the good times"onxyia said before separating.
"Thanks…maybe your right"blake said before onxyia smield back.
Though as they were about to head back inside both their ears flciekd as they heard something from outside. They turned to the roof wondering what is was.
"What was that?"onxyia asked. Blake eyes narrowed almost looking dead ahead. Her ears flicked again as she picked up the sound of baby crying from the roof and both looked at each other.
"Wait a minute…that sounds like"onxyia said as blake looked worried at her.
"Up to the roof"blake ordered as she jumped onto the trialing, grabbed the edge of the roof and pulled herself up. Onxyia immediately followed after her not wanting to face what was up their alone along with the crying. Almost immediately she saw Blake staring directly at three people they didn't want to see tonight.
It was Ollie with his sword on his hip, along with yenna with her machete out. And Ilia with her whip at the ready in a nervous stance. Blake drew Gambol Shroud. But in ollie arms was sorrel crying his little lungs out
"Ollie"blake simply stated glaring at him.
"Been a while you two. You shouldve have never come back here"ollie replied as his voice sounded manically.
"Yes, he's right you two and those human pest should have never come here"yenna added as she wiped her blade down.
"You know we can't do that. Especially since we know about fennac and corsac being spies"blake added. Though they barely got a reaction from the three except for ollie who smiled.
"So you figured that out. Or was it that dumb sister of yours. Honestly I don't care it doesn't matter at this point. Do you honestly think the faunus of menagerie will listen to you and try to fight back? Wheres your proof of us killing our members"ollie said smiling as ilia flinched a little.
Sorrel kept crying as the spider faunus looked disgusted at this. Then he flicked the baby on the head making it cry more. Blake and Onxyia got anger at this because that was just a baby. Onxyia pulled remorse out from her new sheathe on her side readying it.
"What is wrong with you?!"onxyia shouted.
"Nothing much just annoyed this little half blood won't shut up….Wolfie"ollie said mockingly.
"You don't get to call me that"onxyia growled at him.
Ollie raised an eyebrow at that"oh why that because your little boyfriend did or your girlfriend….hmmm you know Adder told me about what he did to him, and how he almost killed her"ollie said which got the twos attention.
"What are you talking about?"blake questioned as her and onxyia slowly made their way over.
Yenna readied her machete as Ilia readied her whip cracking it. Ollie just smiled at the two as sorrel kept crying.
"Oh he was the one who killed him sweetie, told me he gutted him like a fish. That he saw how pathetic it was as he desperately reached for that dumb scroll of his. But he did stop him from also gutting that rabbit though…lucky her"Ollie said as onxyia gritted her teeth.
"Shut up!"onxyia growled glaring at him.
"No I don't think so, its fun torumenting you since you stabbed me in the leg bitch"ollie spitted back.
Then he handed sorrel to yenna who gladly took the small bengel faunus. She craddeld him as she transformed her machete into a machine pistol aiming it at his probably shoot him if they went after them.
The spider faunus just smirked as he put his hands behind his back"he tells me that dumb freak called you, all happy to hear your voice. Saying how he loved you along with that other girl and his family struggling with each word he he took his last breath as he held onto some dumb picture with two other human pest. Along with that he was smiling it seems."ollie finished smiling with glee.
Onxyia gritted her teeth as she got in a defensive stance with remorse in hand. She barely had some swordmanship skills but she couldn't stand what she just heard. Blake glared at him and looked over at ilia who was frowning a little at this.
"Ilia why are you doing this?"Blake questioned as the chameleon faunus looked at her.
"I..I…I have a job to do as a member of the White Fang. And thats to follow the orders of the high leader without question"Ilia sheepishly replied as ollie smiled.
"You see sometimes threatening your subordinates gets the job done. Because it they don't they end up like those traditors I killed in Vale. God those knights made the job easier for me killed most of them for me. "Ollie said as he then pulled out his sword looking at the two.
"Now i'm going to kill you two pest then those humans that are in menagerie. "Ollie stated
Olllie moved forward but as he did from the side a shot went off. He dodged it as he went wide eyed looking over to his right. They all turned to see a familiar tiger faunus standing their with anger in her eyes. It was nadia who was looking at the white fang members like they just took something dear to her.
"Nadia, what is she doing here?"blake thought wondering why she was here.
"Hmm who the hell are you?"ollie smugly questined.
Nadia didn't speak but instead cracked her knuckles and her robotic hand. A small clicking sound could be heard as she produced a pair of claws on her hand from her was glaring at ollie and yenna especially.
"All you need to know that the savage huntresses came for a visit real quick. Because her partner was worried about her….then as I get here I see you five on the roof. "Nadia begun as she got in an offensive stance.
"So what traditor do I look like we care"yenna pointed out as she motioned her gun to sorrel head who kept crying.
"Oh you'll care when you regret messing with me"nadia warned as she nodded to blake and nodded back as just then Ollie charged at onxyia with a murderous intent. He slashed at her and she blocked it with remorse. The two kept clashing as then yenna nodded to ilia. Ilia then cracked her whip as she charged at blake.
Blake noticed this as she dodged ilia whip strike a few times. As she did Blake slashed at ilia whip trying to deflect her attack. With each attack ilia struck she looked like she didn't want to do this but had to. Then blake rushed forward as she slashed at ilia, though the chameleon faunus blocked it. Then blake kicked her back toward yenna.
While Yenna kept an eye on sorrel Nadia was going to charge her but looked over at ollie. The spider faunus used his webs to grab onxyia leg and pulled her forward. The wolf faunus went forward as rubbed her head. Ollie was about to bring his blade down on her and onxyia went wide eyed. But before she knew it the spider faunus received a punch in the gut sending him back aways.
Onxyia looked up ay nadia glaring at the boy then looked down at onxyia. She nodded as she offered a hand helping the girl up. The wolf took it as they both got up ready to fight. Ollie grunted glaring at the women then looked at ilia who joined him. Then he looked toward yenna nodding to her. The girl nodded as soon the three started to run away with sorrel.
"After them, they got sorrel!"blake shotued as the three chased them down through the forest below. Blake jumped from tree branch to tree branch chasing them. While Nadia and Onxyia were on the ground chasing them. Nadia went straight for yenna but then she got clothlines by something. She fell down as she groaned looking up to see a spider web their.
Onxyia was about to head back for her but clenched her fist because right now catching them was important. Though the tiger faunus seemed to understand as she soon quickly recovered. Then she rejoined the two after sprinting after them.
After a bit of running blake then jumped from a tree branch at ollie. She caught him as they both rolled onto the ground. Yenna was still ahead smiling as she kept running. But ilia looked back going back it seems to help ollie. Ollie kicked blake off him as they both got in a fighting two looked at each other before soon enough ilia then onxyia joined them. They stood their staring at each other ready for a showdown.
"This will be fun"ollie said as he charged toward blake getting out his curved sword dealing several strike to her. Blake readied herself as she block each of his attacks. While ilia raised her hand pressing a button on her whip. Then she cracked it toward onxyia who dodged the attacks. As she did she went through one of her pouches pulling out a dust vial. She was a little confused how to do it but soon lifted the small hatch on remorse.
Then she narrowed her gaze as she jammed the dust vial in and pressed a button. The blade ignited in a yellow electrical hue as the holographic blade on it changed to yellow. Onxyia smiled a little as she gripped it with one hand. Then she rushed forward at ilia trying to stun her with it. Though ilia was quick and dodged her attacks quickly.
Blake and ollie kept exchanging blow for a bit before ollie tried to strike her. But she raisd her metal arm and blocked it. The spider faunus scoffed at this before blake pushed him back. He recovered readied to fight her. Then she obliged as she rushed at him and he did as well. As they got closer blake smiled before using her semblance to create a clone of fire. It exploded on contact on ollie. Though this must have been enough to slow him down as blake watched, but he was unfazed by it.
"To think your little clone are going to stop me. Think again."ollie said wiping the dust from his shoulders.
Soon onxyia got knocked back toward Blake as her aura shattered. Blake looked worried as the girl slowly got up tired it seems.
"You alright?"blake asked the girl as she gently nodded to her.
Ilia soon rejoined ollie who chuckled"man you two are precious, you never stood a chance against your welcome to try"ollie said spreading his arms almost telling them to try and attack him.
But thats when blake thought of something glancing at ilia. If she was being forced to do this one thing could convince her to help them.
"Ilia this isn't what akasha would want"blake said, getting the chameleon faunus attention.
Ilia was about to speak but she got a glare from ollie telling her not to speak. She reociled a little as her skin changed to a mix of green and yellow. Ollie gave a small grin before turning to the two with a smug expression.
"She not here right now blake…though she could have been if she wasn't a traditor. But little ilia here knows what needs to be done"ollie replied
"Really your no better than a common crook ollie. You think killing faunus will get us equality, it won't your no better the humans you hate"blake retorted
Ollie just laughed" Oh no i'm doing what is necessary for all faunus everywhere. Along with getting revenge on you two and adam. Three people who betrayed my trust, break my trust and you die"ollie said creppily.
"Your insane….you killed a little girl in vacou for standing up against you. Now your kidnapping a baby, your monsters"onxyia said as ilia flinched a little at this.
"Hmm well don't worry about that little half blood, we'll tell you how you can get him back."ollie said as he began to walk away. But before he did he motioned for ilia to attack. She gulped nerovusly as she charged at blake. But onxyia intercepted her as ilia whip wrapped around remorse. The two were at a stand still for a bit until a shot rang out.
Onxyia stopped in her tracks as she felt pain near her touched the spot of her chest that was in pain. Then she removed it seeing blood their as her eyes went wide. She stopped their as ilia looked at her with sorrow in her eyes.
On onxyias right side of her chest started to slowly ooze blood. The wolf faunus eyes went wide as she fell to her side. Blake looked at this as soon nadia joined the two. She went wide eyed as ollie was smiling.
"NO!"blake cired out and ran to onxyia and held her in her arms as blood oozed from her wound. Blake covered it up the best she can as nadia rushed over worried.
"No no no 't die…please…please"blake said almost completely ignoring ollie and ilia.
"Man its so sweet seeing wolfie suffer, you three aren't worth killing. "Ollie said as he looked at ilia who returned the look. He motioned for her to follow as she slowly backed away from the three. The girl had tears in her eyes at what she just did as she ran away from them.
"Also if you want the kid back we'll tell you were to meet"ollie said as he left the three of them.
Blake was trying to stop the bleeding but it wasn't working as she looked around frantically. Nadia knelt down as she began tearing of a piece of her clothing. She was wearing a blue tank top with her jacket with her name on it. She tore the lower part off as she wrapped it around the girls wound.
"Don't worry we'll get your somewhere safe"nadia reassured as onxyia looked at them in pain.
"Help! Someone help!"blake shotued trying to get anyone's attention. Luckily someone ehard her and ran to her aid and that someone was Sun. He noticed that they were holding Onxyia and she was bleeding badly.
"What happened?"he asked worringly bending down to check on Onxyia.
"It was Ollie…yenna and ilia…they attacked…we tried to.."blake said fumbling with her words.
"Not now kid lets get her to the infirmary now"nadia said as sun picked up onxyia bridal style. While blake gathered remorse that was on the side. She looked at it as her and nadia quickly headed toward the infirmary praying onxyia would make it.
It seems that the faunus of menagerie aren't willing to listen to terrorist thanks to siennas words. But that costed her with the kidnapping of her newborn son, and onxyia got shot by ollie. Lets hope in the next chapter she gets help in time.
