Summary: The dinosaurs of the Great Valley are segregated into herds based on species. Each herd must fight other herds on "Saurus Battle Days" if they want to gain resources from each other's territories. The threehorns are the most difficult herd to deal with since they want to drive out the longnecks, duckbills, and spiketails for sharing resources without fighting. Thus, the longnecks, duckbills, and spiketails must fight the threehorns to stay in the Valley. As tensions remain high among the fighting herds, Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike (teenagers) are faced with the challenge of addressing conflict between their herds, and within their own friend circle.

TLBT - Battle of the Survivors

written by

EXT. BARREN LANDSCAPE - DAY

A barren landscape comes into view. As far as the eye can see, there's only dust and carcasses of various dinosaurs, spread around the landscape.

A faint growl is heard.

A herd of LONGNECKS is passing through. BRON is at the front, and SHORTY (child-age) is at his side.

Suddenly, the ground SHAKES.

The Longnecks stop, looking around, frantic. Bron stops in his tracks and narrows his eyes.

BRON

Everyone… stay put.

SHORTY notices something in the distance. He nudges BRON.

BRON looks in the direction with a scared expression.

SHORTY

Dad… I think I saw a Sharptooth…

Another SHAKE. The Longnecks are getting restless.

A loud growl is heard.

The Longnecks watch as a SHARPTOOTH appears in the distance, GROWLING at the sky. Bron waits until the Sharptooth walks forward and disappears behind some cliffs.

Bron turns and gives a nod to his herd. They continue to move forward.

BRON

Let's go. The Great Valley is just over those slopes.

They begin moving ahead, in the opposite direction of the Sharptooth.

EXT. IN DISTANCE - EVENING

Another herd is passing through the landscape. OLD ONE, the leader of the group, is walking in front. They hear the GROWL of the Sharptooth.

They look in the distance, making out details of a group of long necks.

The GROWL grows LOUDER.

2.

OLD ONE

A Sharptooth. We must be in his

territory.

She turns to the herd.

OLD ONE (CONT'D)

Everyone, keep your footsteps quiet

and steady.

ALI is beside her mother and Old One. She is trembling with her eyes wide.

She and her herd look behind to see a Sharptooth, watching them silently. The herd follows Old One, until she stops in her tracks.

A Sharptooth jumps out from the sides of the boulders, almost chomping at Ali. Ali lets out a scream, but her mother hits it with her tail. As the Sharptooth is rammed against the wall, rocks start to fall.

The Longnecks bellow with fear and run forward to escape the rockfall. The Sharptooth catches up to them, snapping its jaws at their heels. Old One turns and hurries over to fight the Sharptooth. As the rest of the herd ventures away, Old One stays behind to face the Sharptooth with a frown. The Sharptooth leaps forward, opening its mouth wide at the longneck- —

CUT TO BLACK.

OVER BLACK:

Suspenseful, dramatic music plays.

EXT. OUTLANDS - SUNSET

Grounds are shaking, rocks are falling, many dinosaurs of different species are occasionally seen fleeing the environmental hazards.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

The earth was once a very unstable

place. Lands were constantly

changing. Danger often lurked

around every corner. The

magnificent creatures who once

walked this earth had to stay on

the move, moving from one habitat

to another.

3.

EXT. OUTLANDS - SUNSET

Barren lands are shown, with a small group of dinos passing by a dino skeleton.

Some lands have some trees and some greens, but then the land morphs into a barren place with skeletons lying around.

In some places, Sharpteeth and Leafeaters are seen battling each other.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Many lands were becoming devoid of

resources. However, there was one

place that maintained its luscious

environment.

FADE OUT.

A Gentle MUSIC PLAYS.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - MORNING

Sun rises over the valley as the incessant chirping of birds spreads through the air. The sun's light slowly touches every corner of the valley, illuminating the beautiful greens and turning the river that flows in the middle into a shimmering golden spectacle.

Dinosaurs arrive to drink water from the river. A LOUD GRUNT is heard as a LONGNECK YAWNS.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

The Great Valley. One of the last

fertile lands on earth, and the

only place where Sharpteeth were

not found.

The scene shifts to the surrounding walls of the Valley.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D) The surrounding great walls kept Sharpteeth from entering in, and only the leaf-eating dinosaurs were able to venture through the opening. Many leaf-eating dinosaurs thus traveled far and wide to seek this treasured paradise.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - VARIOUS

Dinosaurs of various species are seen entering the Valley.

4.

We focus on each Dinosaur as the narrator mentions them.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

With time, many Leafeaters came and made the great valley their home. Littlefoot the longneck… Cera the Threehorn, Ducky the duckbill, Petrie the flyer, and Spike the Spiketail were five friends who were separated from their families. They had gone on a perilous journey together to find the Great Valley.

INSERT FLASHBACK from the 1988 film, showing various scenes of the five dinosaurs traveling across various lands.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

Soon, the five friends made it to

the Great Valley, and they were

united with their families.

INSERT SCENE of Littlefoot and grandparents, and the other four dinos and their families, recycled from the reunion scene at the end of the 1988 film.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D) However, more reunions were yet to come. As more dinosaurs found their way into the Great Valley, Littlefoot was in for more surprises to come.

LITTLEFOOT, still a child, looks ahead and sees a herd of LONGNECKS entering. He sees a familiar face and his own face lights up.

LITTLEFOOT

Father!

He runs towards BRON, the leader of the herd. He also looks excited to see Shorty and the two of them exchange shy, but eager glances.

INSERT FLASHBACK SCENE of Littlefoot aged 16, venturing over to see another new longneck herd coming in.

Scene shifts to when he is standing with a juvenile Ali, and they are both excited to see each other at first. But then Ali passes Littlefoot and looks around in wonder of the Valley.

ALI

Rhett! Isn't this amazing?

5.

Littlefoot watches with a disheartened look as Rhett bounds over to Ali, looking proud. Ali bats her eyes at him and giggles.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

With the increasing influx of

Leafeaters into the Valley, the

safe haven was soon overpopulated.

Longnecks are seen walking along, and then are blocked by a three-horn herd. They are on a path surrounded by ditches on each side. They look at each other and then try to find a way to get past each other.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

Eventually, the different species

of Leafeaters came to a consensus:

the dinosaurs must separate into

herds with their own species.

Longnecks formed a herd with other

Longnecks.

INSERT SCENE of the Longnecks forming a heard.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

Threehorns became a herd with other

Threehorns.

INSERT SCENE of Threehorns becoming a heard.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

And every species of dinosaur

claimed a territory within the

Valley.

INSERT SCENE of species claiming territory.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

And to preserve resources, the

lands had to be segregated, with

only one herd of dino species

occupying a single territory.

Longnecks, Threehorns, and flyers walk in different ways. Littlefoot, Cera, and Petrie turn around to glance at each other, looking saddened, before parting ways to their separate territories.

6.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D) Though the segregation of the herds was a disheartening transition for some dinosaurs to adjust to, the worst part was that such a lifestyle resulted in not just separation, but discord among the herds.

A Threehorn and a Clubtail are seen fighting each other.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

If a herd wanted to access

resources from a territory that

they did not occupy, they had to

fight the herd that had claimed

that territory as their home.

A group of Threehorns are seen fighting a group of Parasaurolophuses.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - FIGHTING PIT - DAY

The fighting pit is a stark contrast to the outside world. It's a small piece of barren land, covered in dust and dirt. It is divided into various sections for various groups of dinos to fight, with rocky walls separating the different sections.

Dinosaurs of two species are seen fighting in each section, while other dinosaurs gather around to watch as spectators.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

An event would take place at the beginning of each month. An event called the Saurus Battle Day. The herds would engage in battles with one another, and the winning herds would get to occupy the territories of the losing herd's for one month.

A Threehorn dinosaur charges at a Spiketail dinosaur. His eyes are red and intense. The Spiketail holds its breath.

Just before Threehorn is about to hit its opponent -

CUT TO BLACK.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - FIGHTING PIT - EVENING

The fighting pit is empty now.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

But once the month is over, the herds must return to their own home territories. To claim resources from another territory, they would have to battle the herd that was home to that territory during the next Saurus Battle Day.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - SPIKETAIL TERRITORY - DAY

A group of Spiketails watches Threehorns relaxing in their territory, a few more Threehorns stomp in with stubborn frowns on their faces.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

The herd that often won the most battles was none other than the Threehorns. Due to their ruthless style of fighting, the Threehorns have won and occupied almost every territory in the valley, except for the territories belonging to Longnecks and flyers.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - FIGHTING PIT - DAY

A juvenile Littlefoot watches as his GRANDPA GILBERT stands face to face with a Clubtail. Both stare into each other's eyes, catching their breath. Both have fresh marks of battle on their bodies.

LITTLEFOOT

(to himself)

Come on, Grandpa...

The Clubtail slowly takes a step back. Grampa Gilbert sees through the bluff with an exhausted yet determined look. As soon as the Clubtail makes enough room for itself to turn around and hurl its tail at him, Grampa Gilbert moves away in time and instead kicks his massive foot on the Clubtail's head.

The Clubtail falls to the ground. A cloud of dust erupts where it falls.

Littlefoot jumps up with joy.

LITTLEFOOT (CONT'D)

Yes! Grandpa, you're the best

Saurus Warrior in the herd!

Other Longnecks come and surround Grandpa Gilbert, congratulating him. Littlefoot joins and bounds around his grandpa, excited.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY – OUTSKIRTS OF THE FIGHTING PIT - SUNSET

Grandpa Gilbert and Littlefoot are standing together on the outside of the Fighting Pit, gazing across the horizon. Grandma Gertrude is with them. The sounds of fighting dinos are distant.

LITTLEFOOT (CONT'D)

Grandpa Gilbert… Grandma Gertrude…

are you sure you both want to

retire from being Saurus Warriors?

Grandpa and Grandma exchange glances. Then they nod at Littlefoot as Grandpa lets out a sigh.

GRANDPA GILBERT

Yes, Littlefoot. I may have won my

fair share of battles for a long

time now, but I've come to the

point where I've decided enough is

enough…

9.

GRANDPA GERTRUDE

Your Grandpa and I have been

against the idea of Saurus Battle

Days from the beginning. Fighting

is no way to resolve the population

issues in the Great Valley.

Littlefoot is slowly nodding. He sighs, staring at the sky.

LITTLEFOOT

I never wanted the herds to separate either. I miss hanging out with Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike. The only time we get to hang out is when the herds get together for these battle days.

INSERT FLASHBACK SCENES when he was with the other four dinosaurs, watching the Longnecks battling the Clubtails. Bron is seen battling the Clubtail herd leader.

LITTLEFOOT (V.O.)

Dad became leader of the longneck herd when we segregated. He only allows our Saurus Warriors to fight other herds when defending our territory, but he doesn't allow our warriors to ever start the battles to claim other lands. Which means I haven't been able to visit Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike in their own territories…

Littlefoot looks over his shoulder, seeing a glimpse of Bron and other Longnecks fighting amongst the Threehorns back in the Fighting Pit.

LITTLEFOOT

Soon, that will be me in there, fighting my friends to occupy their territories or to defend our Longneck Territory. Ugh. I'm not sure if I'm all that excited for our upcoming Saurus Warrior Initiation Ceremony anymore…

GRANDMA GERTRUDE nudges Littlefoot affectionately.

GRANDPA GILBERT

It will be unfortunate when you and your friends from the other herds are forced to fight each other. That's why I've had enough of these battle days.

10.

He gazes across the horizon.

GRANDPA GILBERT (CONT'D)

I'm old, and I've already done as

much as I can to help our herd gain

the resources they need, even if it

wasn't the method I would've

chosen.

(he narrows his eyes)

Though if it were up to me, I

would've never resorted to fighting

when gathering the food and

resources to sustain our herd.

LITTLEFOOT

But Grandpa… what other choice do

we have? If we don't fight the

other herds, how else would we

obtain the resources we need for

our territory?

GRANDPA GILBERT

(gives a small smile)

Rather than fighting with each

other, we can trade resources. Then

we could live peacefully and still

sustain our populations.

LITTLEFOOT

Then why don't we do it?

GRANDMA GILBERT

Because some herds like to fight.

Some enjoy the battle days and the

opportunities to assert their

dominance over the other herds.

LITTLEFOOT

Threehorns...

GRANDPA GERTRUDE

And many others who agree with

them. The Hypsilophodons…

They stand silently, for a few minutes, listening to the battle taking place in the distance.

GRANDPA GILBERT

Anyway, let's get back to the

Fighting Pit. It sounds like it's

just your father and Topsy battling

each other now.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY – FIGHTING PIT - NIGHT

Littlefoot and a crowd of other Longnecks are watching Bron and Topsy fight. Littlefoot is watching with an excited, but tense look on his face. After much fighting, Bron wins and the crowds of Longnecks cheer for him.

LITTLEFOOT

(to himself)

Awesome… once again, no Threehorns

occupying our territory this month…

(starts to look saddened)

Which means… no Cera…

Bron approaches Littlefoot, giving him his calm yet determined smile.

BRON

Hey there, son.

LITTLEFOOT

Huh? Oh hey, dad! Congrats on your

win — I can't believe we've been

able to defeat the Threehorns every

time they try to fight for our

territory.

BRON

And it's a good thing we defeated

them this time. They threatened

that if they won this battle, they

would drive out the new Longnecks

that were recently added to our

longneck herd.

Bron nods over to the dinos of Ali's herd.

TOPSY stomps over, panting heavily with bruises and wounds over him. He is glaring at Bron.

12.

TOPSY

You may have won this time,

longneck. But mark my words, next

Saurus Battle Day, my herd will

beat you, and we will drive out all

those extra scoundrels you allowed

into your territory.

Topsy flashes a glare to Ali's herd, and the dinos give him a scared look. Topsy begins shouting at them.

TOPSY (CONT'D)

You are all just extra mouths to

feed! Our Valley will not have its

resources depleted because of you!

(stomps foot and gazes at

the rest of the entire

longneck herd)

Soon, I will win a Saurus Battle

against you Longnecks.

(turns back to Ali's herd)

And then I will have you all

banished into the Mysterious

Beyond, back where you came from!

The Threehorns who were also fighting gather behind Topsy and snort their agreement, glaring at the new Longnecks. The Longnecks cower back in fear. Ali hides behind her mother.

BRON frowns at Topsy and speaks in a calm but serious tone.

BRON

Topsy, if you want to fight us

again next Saurus Day Battle, then

so be it. As always, I will give it

everything I got to protect my

fellow Longnecks — including those

who have recently joined my herd.

TOPSY

(grunts at Bron)

You are a fool to have allowed any

newcomers to settle into your

territory! This Valley is one of

the last places on earth with

abundant green food, and you think

you can just let anyone come in and

hoard all the resources here?!

Bron and Topsy continue arguing and the loud voices of the Threehorns and other Longnecks join in the arguing. The place is filled with shouting. Littlefoot looks uneasy and backs away. He looks over his shoulder to see Ali looking scared at the arguing dinos. Then she turns and runs away.

13.

Littlefoot looks curious and runs after her. He catches up to her in the shadows, where she is crying.

LITTLEFOOT

Hey Ali… are you alright?

Ali sniffles and turns to Littlefoot with a desperate, sad look in her eyes.

ALI

No, I'm not alright! How can I be

okay when there's all this fighting

going on?!

LITTLEFOOT

(sighs)

It sucks, I know. I've always hated

these battle days.

Ali sniffles and shakes her head, speaking in a trembling voice.

ALI

The worst part about it is that I'm

gonna have to participate in those

awful battles soon. I've reached

the age where I must become a

Saurus Warrior… I don't want to

fight other dinosaurs! I can't do

it! I'm not strong enough!

Littlefoot walks up to her and gives her a gentle nudge.

LITTLEFOOT

Hey… don't be scared. I'm also

going to be a Saurus Warrior soon.

(gives a determined smile)

I promise I'll make sure I help you

train and become a strong,

competent warrior.

Ali huffs and shakes her head again, drawing away from him.

ALI

Don't you understand? I don't want

to be a Saurus Warrior at all! I

don't want to hurt myself out

there!

Littlefoot watches her sob with a sympathetic look in his eyes.

14.

LITTLEFOOT

Look… I don't want to be a Saurus

Warrior either. Especially since it

means I'll have to fight my friends

in the other herds. But there's

nothing we can do about it. We… we

just gotta make the best of it

Littlefoot looks over to the arguing Threehorns and Longnecks

— Topsy is dismissing them rudely since he has to go and fight Horace, the leader of the Hypsilophodon herd.

LITTLEFOOT (CONT'D)

We have to do what we can to defend

ourselves. If we don't train hard

enough to fight, Topsy and his

Threehorns will drive you and your

family out of this Valley, back

into the Mysterious Beyond.

Ali looks over at the Threehorns with a fearful look.

ALI

Yeah… you're right…

Littlefoot gives her a small smile.

LITTLEFOOT

We can do it. We'll be strong,

competent Saurus Warriors who will

defend our herd.

The scene then shifts to SHORTY, who is looking over his shoulder, frowning at the Threehorns and Longnecks who continue to yell at each other. Then Shorty steps up to Littlefoot and Ali, keeping his gaze on the arguing dinos.

SHORTY

Puh. I can't believe dad's still

not gonna challenge any other herd

leaders.

LITTLEFOOT

You really want our Saurus Warriors

to fight other herds and claim

their territories, don't you?

SHORTY

Of course! Our herd can take down

the Threehorns, who are the

strongest, most ruthless group of

dinos in the Valley.

15.

SHORTY (CONT'D)

So we could easily occupy many

other herds' territories if dad

just challenged them more, just

like Topsy was doing to us!

Shorty looks over his shoulder at Bron, who is frowning as he tries to calm down the arguing dinos.

SHORTY (CONT'D)

Instead, he's just fighting

reactively. Just fighting other

herds when they try to claim our

territory. But he could totally

take this one step further and

fight other herds to claim their

lands! With all these victories

against the Threehorns, we could

easily become the strongest herd in

the Valley, occupying more

territories than the Threehorns

can!

LITTLEFOOT

Why is it so important to you that

we occupy so many territories like

the Threehorns are doing?

SHORTY

What a dumb question. The answer is

obvious — we need as many resources

as we can get for our growing

longneck population!

(turns to Ali and frowns)

Especially since you guys came in.

Ali returns his frown, but she cowers back, hiding behind Littlefoot.

SHORTY (CONT'D)

(gives a determined frown

at the moon)

Hmph. When I become a Saurus

Warrior, I will make sure I win as

many battles for our herd as

possible. I'll convince dad to

challenge more herds so we can

occupy their territories… and with

my fighting skills, I'll make the

Longnecks the strongest herd in the

Valley!

16.

ALI

Nooo! Don't make our herd get into

more fights! It's already awful

that we have to fight those who

challenge us…

Ali flashes a glance at some fighting dinos and looks away quickly, sniffling.

ALI (CONT'D)

I wish I didn't have to be a Saurus

Warrior… I don't want to get hurt…

SHORTY

(disgusted look at Ali)

Hey! You and your family are

hogging up space in Longneck

Territory, and you don't even want

to help us fight and gain more

resources?! You're pathetic!

Ali shrinks back and gives a meek whine.

LITTLEFOOT

Shorty you don't have to —

SHORTY

I'm going to be the strongest

Saurus Warrior in the entire

longneck herd… and the strongest

Saurus Warrior in the Great Valley.

The longneck herd will win the most

territories because of me — I'll

make sure we become the strongest

herd in the Valley.

Bron is passing them, then stops to give a mild frown at Shorty.

BRON

Shorty… remember that power without

compassion is ultimately

destructive.

LITTLEFOOT

That's why it would be much better

if the herds just traded resources

with each other, rather than fight

for them.

(looks up at Bron)

We just have to put up with all

this fighting because it's all we

can do to defend ourselves for now,

isn't it?

17.

Bron shifts his gaze to Littlefoot and his frown morphs into a smile.

BRON

Exactly, Littlefoot.

(nudges him

affectionately)

You'll make a great Saurus Warrior.

Shorty gives a jealous frown as he watches Littlefoot and Bron exchange affectionate nudges.

Ali turns to run off.

ALI

Ugh! I really don't want to be a

Saurus Warrior…

LITTLEFOOT

(stares after her and

sighs)

Dad, to be honest, I don't want to

be a Saurus Warrior either…

BRON

I know, son. But don't worry — your

heart is in the right place. Fight

to defend our herd. I can already

see you becoming a strong and noble

warrior for our herd… and for Ali.

Littlefoot chuckles.

Shorty watches with envy as Bron and Littlefoot nudge each other affectionately again, and Bron walks away. As soon as he is out of sight, Shorty presses his nose against Littlefoot's.

SHORTY

You think you'll be a better Saurus

Warrior than me, just because

you're Bron's REAL son?!

LITTLEFOOT

Huh?! Shorty, what are you —

SHORTY

Listen, Littlefoot! I may just be

his stepson, but that doesn't mean

I don't have it in me to become as

strong as he is… or even stronger.

(lowers head, narrows

eyes)

18.

SHORTY (CONT'D)

And it certainly doesn't mean he'll

more impressed by YOUR skills than

with mine!

Shorty whirls around and stomps away, scowling.

SHORTY (CONT'D)

I'll be the strongest warrior the

entire Great Valley will ever see —

all dinosaurs will come to respect

me. Including Bron.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - FIGHTING PIT - NIGHT

Topsy growls at his opponent - HYP'S FATHER, HORACE, leader of the Hypsilophodon Herd, who gets ready to take on Topsy's charge.

Without warning, Topsy charges at Horace. Horance tries to move away in time, but he is too slow. Topsy hits him with the force of a thousand mountains crashing down on him, and he goes back flying.

Topsy raises his own horns in the air, giving a triumphant frown as the Threehorns in his herd cheer.

Hyp is watching on the sidelines. He scoffs, looking frustrated and annoyed. He stomps past Cera and a light-brown juvenile Threehorn, BINKY. They are standing next to each other.

HYP

Don't think this means I'm gonna

share any of my territory's

resources with you pathetic

weaklings! Once you stupid

Threehorns are occupying my home,

I'll be sure to poison any green

food for you!

BINKY

Go ahead, Hyp. Just like you tried

to poison my treesweets last time.

You just ended up giving me extra

strength and energy to beat Cera in

a rock-crushing contest.

Binky gives Cera a teasing nudge, who scowls back at him.

Hyp whirls around to glare at Binky.

19.

HYP

SHUT UP, Binky! This time I'll make

sure you Threehorns vomit from

eating anything in my territory!

CERA

(snorts)

Then I'll make sure I cream you

during the next Saurus Battle Day!

HYP

(raises eyebrows and

smirks)

Oh yeah, you weak numbskulls are

gonna have your Saurus Warrior

Initiation Ceremony soon. Hah! You

guys won't stand a chance against

me and my herd.

BINKY

(nudges Cera again,

maintaining a relaxed

smirk at Hyp)

Cera certainly doesn't stand a

chance against you, Hyp. But I'll

whoop your butt as easily as

smashing a stinkbug.

Cera whirls around and glares at Binky.

CERA

Hey! I can take him down just

better than you can!

Hyp laughs mockingly and swats in their direction, then turns to walk away.

HYP

Keep dreamin', weaklings.

CERA

Once I'm a Saurus Warrior, I'll

whoop YOUR butt after creaming Hyp.

BINKY

Uh-huh. Just like you whooped my

butt at our rock-smashing contest

the other day. Oh man! It was like

your horns were made of twigs!

Cera lowers her head and rubs her front leg against the ground, as if she's ready to charge at him.

20.

CERA

I'll show you what these horns are

made of right now.

BINKY

Whoa, whoa, cool it, small-horns.

I'd love to fight you right now,

but I would easily crush you. And I

don't wanna humiliate you in front

of your dad.

(sneers at Topsy in the

distance)

It's a pity that you're such a

weakling, despite being our herd

leader's daughter.

Cera jumps in front of Binky and stands nose to nose with him, glaring.

CERA

You won't be calling me a weakling

once we start Saurus Warrior

training. I'll break your horns

before you could even finish the

first training session!

BINKY

(laughs calmly, but

mockingly)

Not before I trip you and make you

fall on your own broken horns

first!

Binky nudges Cera slightly, but strongly, sending her stumbling aside.

Cera gives a quick yelp and stomps clumsily aside. Then she regains her composure and crouches, snorting and looking ready to charge at Binky.

Binky winks at her.

BINKY (CONT'D)

You really think you can be the

stronger Saurus Warrior than me,

just cuz you're Topsy's daughter?

Come on, small-horns.

Binky turns to walk away with a smug smile.

BINKY (CONT'D)

I'll make sure those puny horns of

yours will be shattered before you

even become Saurus Warrior.

21.

CERA

(shouting)

I'll show you who will be the

stronger Saurus Warrior. I'll be

the strongest Saurus Warrior the

Threehorn herd has ever seen — and

the strongest Saurus Warrior the

Great Valley has ever seen!

Littlefoot walks over.

LITTLEFOOT

Hey Cera! I'm gonna watch the

duckbills and flyers fight. Ducky,

Petrie, and Spike should already be

in their portion of the Fighting

Pit. Wanna come?

CERA

I'll be there soon… after I take

care of this stupid excuse of a

Threehorn.

Binky looks over his shoulder to raise an eyebrow at Littlefoot, then Cera. Then he snickers.

BINKY

Oh wow, how pathetic, Cera. You're

still friends with those loons from

the other herds?

Binky turns and continues walking away, continuing to snicker.

BINKY (CONT'D)

And you think you'll be a strong

warrior for our herd.

CERA

ARGH! I can be friends with

Littlefoot, Ducky, Petrie, and

Spike AND still be able to smash

your stupid head!

Three juvenile Threehorn girls – GRETA, MADDIE and TRISHA – pass them by. They stop and give Cera and Littlefoot snobbish stares.

GRETA

(snobbish frown at Cera)

Hmph! Would you look at that?

22.

GRETA (CONT'D)

Our herd leader's own daughter is

still fraternizing with dinos

outside of her herd. She's a total

abomination to the Threehorn

species.

MADDIE

And she thinks she'll become a

stronger Saurus Warrior than Binky?

Hah! No one can ever top Binky.

Maddie walks closer to Binky and snuggles her shoulder against him.

The three Threehorn girls laugh as they all gather around him. Binky chuckles with them.

CERA

(still scowling)

You three better watch what you say

— I'll crush all of you in one blow with my eyes closed!

GRETA

(nudges Trisha)

Trisha, you better tell your half-

sister she's being a disgrace. What

an embarrassment it must be that

one of the daughters of our herd

leader is messing around with lowly

dinos like Longnecks and duckbills.

Trisha's snobbish frown turns into an uneasy look as she looks at Cera's scowl.

LITTLEFOOT

(steps to Cera's side,

frowning at the

Threehorns)

Hey, Cera can be friends with

whoever she wants and still be

loyal to her herd!

BINKY

Yeah, yeah, she can, but she'll

never be a strong Saurus Warrior!

Come on, girls… just leave little

miss puny-horns with her weakling

friends. She'll just become an

easier target for me once I'm

Saurus Warrior.

23.

They laugh again and walk away. Trisha gives a concerned look over her shoulder at Cera, then walks after them.

Cera stomps her foot while speaking to Littlefoot in a spiteful tone.

CERA

UUUUGH! I hate them! Especially

Binky! Always teasing me for being

weaker than him… I'll show him

who's the weakling once we begin

Saurus Warrior training! I'll whoop

him so hard, he'll never fight

another battle again!

(turns to the three girls

in the distance)

Same for Greta, Maddie, and Trisha!

LITTLEFOOT

(raises an eyebrow at the

Threehorns)

Why does your half-sister hang out

with them anyway? She's nothing

like Greta and Maddie.

CERA

UGH! I don't know!

Cera turns and stomps away, with Littlefoot walking at her side.

CERA (CONT'D)

And I don't care! All that matters

is that I'm gonna make sure I train

hard to become the strongest

warrior the Threehorn herd — and

the entire Valley — has ever seen.

That'll make Binky regret calling

me a weakling!

LITTLEFOOT

You know… you almost sound like my

stepbrother. Shorty thinks he'll

become the strongest Saurus Warrior

in the entire Valley.

CERA

Hmph! I'll be stronger than him

too! I'll beat every dinosaur that

challenges me in a Saurus Battle.

I'll win more battles than Binky

will ever win!

24.

Littlefoot maintains his uneasy expression at Cera as they enter the area in the Fighting Pit where the duckbills and flyers are fighting. Littlefoot's expression then lightens up as he sees Ducky, Petrie, and Spike sitting with each other.

The three of them are watching the fighting with worried expressions.

LITTLEFOOT

Hey, guys!

Ducky turns and her expression lightens up into a beaming smile.

DUCKY

Littlefoot! Cera! Finally you two

are here!

Petrie is still watching the fight. He flinches as one of the duckbills knocks a flyer from the sky, then turns to look away, facing Littlefoot and Cera with a hanging head.

PETRIE

O-o-oh! Me don't think you've

missed out on anything good… me

don't like to see me herd fighting

Ducky's…

Ducky shifts her head back to watch the scene, and shrinks back as she sees a flyer slash its talons at a duckbill's shoulder.

DUCKY

Oh… this is not a good show for

Spike to watch. No, no, no…

Ducky covers Spike's eyes.

SPIKE is chewing tree stars while watching with a sad look on his face, before Ducky covers his eyes.

LITTLEFOOT

The worst is yet to come. Our

Saurus Warrior Initiation Ceremony

is tomorrow night. Soon, that will

be us in there…

Littlefoot turns a disheartened look at the fighting between the duckbills and the flyers.

Petrie shudders and closes his eyes, refraining from looking back.

25.

PETRIE

O-o-oh! Me don't want to think

about it!

DUCKY

(clasps hands and looks

down, sorrowed)

It's already awful that I haven't

been able to hang out with you guys

as much as before. Then after

tomorrow, I'll be training to fight

you all? No, no, no! There must be

a way out of this!

LITTLEFOOT

Hey, let's all make a promise that

we won't fight each other if our

herds ever decide to compete.

DUCKY

(smiles again)

Oh yes! That's a wonderful idea!

Yep, yep, yep!

Spike chomps at some greens. He smiles and nods.

SPIKE

Good… plan…

PETRIE

Oh… but what if all the other

Saurus Warriors in our herd are

defeated, and we end up being the

last ones in the Fighting Pit?!

We'd have no choice but to fight

each other!

LITTLEFOOT

Remember — during a Saurus Battle,

we are defeated if we faint, or if

we verbally proclaim that we

surrender. And we can verbally

surrender anytime. So let's be sure

to do that before it comes down to

just us against each other.

PETRIE

(shuddering)

That sounds like a good idea… me

just hope me don't get in trouble

for doing something like that…

26.

DUCKY

Oh, don't worry, Petrie! Your herd

leader seems really nice and calm.

I'm sure he won't give you a hard

time for admitting defeat at any

time!

Cera looks down with a conflicted look on her face.

CERA

My dad will certainly get on my

case if I ever admit defeat.

(kicks a rock aside)

Not that I'd ever want to, anyway.

Especially not if Binky hasn't been

defeated yet.

LITTLEFOOT

Cera, forget what happens to Binky.

You don't have to let him —

CERA

You don't understand!

Cera turns to Littlefoot with a glare.

CERA (CONT'D)

My dad's already been pushing me to

train like a Saurus Warrior, even

though we haven't had our Warriors

Initiation Ceremony yet. He's

always pinning me against Binky in

rock-smashing and tree-knocking

contests, and Binky is always

beating me! If Binky bests me as a

Saurus Warrior, my dad will be

furious.

The other four dinos give her sympathetic looks, while also looking rather uncertain.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

The five friends were experiencing

much tension amongst each other.

For the rest of that moment, they

sat in silence, not knowing what

else to say as they watched the

battle take place before them.

INSERT MONTAGE of flyers and duckbills fighting, alternating with flinches and winces from Littlefoot and the other four.

27.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

Soon, the flyers had defeated the

duckbills, and were thus permitted

to occupy Duckbill Territory.

DUCKY

(turns to smile at Petrie)

Hey… on the bright side, at least

this means you and I get to hang

out in the same territory for the

next month. Yep, yep, yep!

PETRIE

(sighs)

Yeah… me guess that's something to

look forward to…

DUCKY

(turns to smile at Cera)

And Cera! Your herd is always

beating other herds, and the

duckbills were among the first ones

you beat. At least that means I get

to see you too!

But Cera is looking over her shoulder, glaring at Binky in the distance, who is walking by and flashing her his teasing smirk.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - JUNCTION BETWEEN TERRITORIES - NIGHT

NARRATOR (V.O)

As the battles died down that

night, the five friends enjoyed

spending what little time they had

left with each other, before

dispersing with their respective

herds into their own territories.

MONTAGE:

Transitioning scenes of the five friends chatting and laughing with each other, before they disperse.

Spike looks sad to disperse with the others, especially with Ducky; they part with each other last.

Spike looks sad to leave her, but then lightens up as a young female Spiketail bounds off to his side, nudges him, and he paces after her as she bounds away.

END MONTAGE.

28.

Ducky smiles as she watches her adopted brother leave.

Ducky turns to a group of four girly duckbills chattering in their girlish tones; they squeal and chatter even more as they welcome Ducky into their circle.

As they walk away, a male duckbill named Calvert approaches them, smiling at Ducky.

DUCKY

(squeals)

Oh hi, Calvert!

CALVERT

Hey, Ducky.

They hold hands. The girly duckbills are surrounding them, giggling.

The scene shows Cera joining Topsy's side, who gives her a stern look. Then Topsy is stomping off with Cera at his side and his Threehorn herd behind him.

The scene then shifts to show Littlefoot looking over his shoulder, looking disheartened to see his friends part ways.

He runs after his longneck herd, passing by Shorty, who flashes a jealous frown as he sees Littlefoot catch up to Bron. He snorts as he watches the two of them exchange warm father-son smiles with each other.

NARRATOR (V.O)

As the five friends parted ways,

some of them knew they wouldn't be

seeing each other until the next

Saurus Battle. However, Ducky and

Petrie didn't have to say goodbye

to each other, given the recent

victory of the flyer herd claiming

Duckbill Territory. And Cera didn't

have to say goodbye to anyone but

Littlefoot, given that the

Threehorns had won their Saurus

Battles against all the herds in

the Valley, except the Longnecks

and the flyers.

Petrie flies up to Ducky's shoulder, she stops her giggling with the four girly duckbills to smile at Petrie.

She engages in conversation with Petrie while she holds hands with Calvert. The rest of Petrie's flyer herd is flying over the duckbills as they trickle into Duckbill Territory.

29.

NARRATOR (V.O) (CONT'D)

As usual, the Longnecks had chosen

not to challenge any other herd in

a Saurus Battle to claim another

territory, nor did they lose a

battle against any herd that

challenged them to claim their

territory. Thus, Littlefoot knew it

would be another month before he

could see any of his friends again.

Another month until another Saurus

Battle Day, when the herds would

meet, only to fight each other once

again.

SPLIT SCREEN: The Longnecks, Threehorns/duckbills/flyers, and Spiketails venturing into their own territories for the night.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - LONGNECK TERRITORY - MORNING

Littlefoot wakes up, yawns, and looks around, then raises his eyebrows with curiosity as he notices Bron is at the borders of Longneck Territory, chatting with Hammond, the duckbill herd leader, and Noland, the Spiketail herd leader.

Noland is at Bron's side, and there are a few Spiketails with them, in Longneck Territory. Spike is among them — he is smiling at the female Spiketail from last night as she bounds around him in silence, tossing him chunks of berries and giggling each time he catches them in his mouth.

Curious, Littlefoot ventures over to them.

LITTLEFOOT

Hey Spike! Hey Anya!

Anya gives a quick, excited squeal while Spike gives his calm, relaxed hum.

LITTLEFOOT (CONT'D)

What are you guys doing here in

Longneck Territory? Our herds

weren't fighting during this

month's Saurus Battle Day…

SPIKE

Generous… father…

(turns to Bron)

Free pass…

ANYA

Free food! Free food!

30.

Anya hits another berry toward Spike, who turns and catches it in his mouth.

Littlefoot turns to Bron and listens to his conversation with the duckbill and Spiketail herd leaders.

BRON

(addressing Hammond)

I've already allowed the Spiketails

to come into my territory to help

themselves to whatever green food

they need. The poor Spiketails have

lost to three herds and thus have

many dinos occupying their

territory, taking all their food

and whatnot.

NOLAND

(grunts)

Especially those greedy Threehorns…

Noland looks over his shoulder to see the Threehorns occupying Spiketail Territory; many are stomping around, bellowing and nudging their horns at various Spiketails, chasing them away from various patches of green food and trees so that the Threehorns themselves can start eating the green food.

BRON

(still facing Hammond)

So you duckbills are also more than

welcome to come over too, if you

feel like the flyers or the

Threehorns are depleting any

resources in your territory.

HAMMOND

Oh, splendid! Bron, you are the

best!

NOLAND

Thanks again, Bron. It means a lot.

My herd will need as much green

food as can be spared.

BRON

No problem.

(shifts his gaze over

Hammond and Noland)

You two have been giving each other

free passes to your respective

territories in the past two months,

without putting up any Saurus

Battles.

31.

BRON BRON

It's about time I did the same,

especially if I'm a strong

proponent for sharing resources,

rather than fighting for them.

HAMMOND

(laughs)

Well, it's thanks to the influence

of young Ducky and her mother!

Hammond looks over his shoulder to nod to Ducky and her mother, who are approaching them with smiles.

DUCKY'S MOM

Ducky and Spike were such good

friends, even to the point where

Spike became her adopted brother.

She found him as a lost egg while

she was separated from us in the

Mysterious Beyond… poor Spike never

met his parents.

(looks over to Spike and

smiles)

He's become like a son to me. I

can't just see him once a month.

DUCKY

Nope, nope, nope!

Ducky ventures over to Spike's side in Longneck Territory and hugs spike.

DUCKY (CONT'D)

Once a month in the Fighting Pit is

not a good way to spend time with

friends or with my adopted brother!

Littlefoot smiles as he ventures up to Ducky and Spike and joins their side.

HAMMOND

By the way, you're still welcome to

come to Duckbill Territory and help

yourself to any resources this

month! Having two herds occupying

your territory is gonna be rough… I

had to deal with three herds

occupying Duckbill Territory last

month. If you hadn't allowed my

herd to come over to Spiketail

Territory to share green food, some

of the elders in my herd would've

starved to death.

32.

BRON

(gives a determined smile

as he speaks in his

steady voice)

No one's starving here. The Great

Valley has plenty of food for us to

share.

Littlefoot, Ducky, Spike, and Anya are running around, playing with each other, kicking a rock to each other.

Then the rock rolls over to the borders, a short distance away from where the other dinos are standing. Littlefoot, Ducky, Spike, and Anya hurry over, then stop as they hear stomping. A shadow from Duckbill Territory looms over them, and they gasp to see Topsy walking up to them, looking livid.

TOPSY

(glaring at Spike, Anya,

and Ducky)

What on earth all you all doing in

Longneck Territory?! I never saw

the Spiketails or duckbills beat

the Longnecks in a Saurus Battle

last night!

Bron walks over with Hammond, Noland, and the few duckbills and Spiketails accompanying them.

BRON

Topsy, as Longneck herd leader, I

have the final say on who is

allowed in Longneck Territory and

under what circumstances.

(he nods to Hammond and

Noland)

The duckbills and Spiketails are

allowed to share resources in

Longneck Territory, without needing

to put up a fight. Out of all the

other herds in the Great Valley,

they've lost the most Saurus

Battles over the past few months,

so their territory is always

crowded with the winning herds

hoarding their resources

(turns to the forlorn-

looking duckbills and

Spiketails)

It is only fair that I allow them

to get as much as they need from

our territory, given that our

territory is the most abundant in

green food.

33.

TOPSY

(looks up at Bron and

scoffs)

Bron, your territory has the most

green food in the Great Valley,

because your herd hasn't lost a

single Saurus Battle!

(whips head to the

duckbills and Spiketails,

seething at them)

You can't just give these weaklings

free food if they haven't fought

you for it!

BRON

(speaks in firm, steady

voice)

No dinosaur in this Valley deserves

to starve. I will not stand by and

let any herd waste away while my

territory is overrun with plenty of

food.

Topsy growls as he shifts his eyes from the duckbills to the Spiketails on either side of Bron. Littlefoot, Ducky, Spike, and Anya are looking uneasy.

Soon, Cera and Petrie are coming over, a short distance from Topsy in Duckbill Territory. They are also looking uneasy, as they shift their gazes between the arguing dinos.

TOPSY

Listen up, you fools!

Topsy stomps his foot and glares at Bron and the other dinos with him.

TOPSY (CONT'D)

This Great Valley is one of the

last fertile places on earth. On

top of that, it's a safe haven from

Sharpteeth! As a result, the dino

population in this Valley has been

increasing. If we aren't careful

with how we consume all the green

food in this Valley, then this

Valley will soon become a

wasteland, just like the rest of

the lands out there in the

Mysterious Beyond!

Topsy shifts eyes over the other dinos.

34.

TOPSY (CONT'D)

This is why we segregated into our

own herds and started the Saurus

Battle Days. Only the herds who win

Saurus Battles against other herds

deserve to claim that herd's

territory and all the green food in

it! If you idiots are just giving

away resources willy-nilly, you'll

offset the balance and soon the

Valley will be devoid of all its

precious green food!

A few Threehorns join him from behind, grunting their agreement.

Bron narrows his eyes at Topsy.

BRON

Fighting each other for the green

food in this Valley doesn't help

anything. You're only using these

Saurus Battle Days as an excuse to

dominate the other herds and claim

all the Valley's food to yourself.

NOLAND

Yeah! You greedy Threehorns will be

the ones who end up depleting the

Valley of all its green food!

Topsy lets out an angry bellow, making everyone cower back and gasp. He faces Noland.

TOPSY

You dare accuse ME of depleting

resources in this Valley?! I'm the

one who's been keeping this land

stable by adhering to the Saurus

Battle Day rules! You rule-breakers

are the ones who are a threat to

the Valley. You all ought to be

banished!

Cera walks up to Topsy, looking up to him with her head low.

CERA

Daddy… since we are occupying

Duckbill and Spiketail Territories,

we can establish rules for them.

(raises her head to gaze

at him)

35.

CERA CERA

We can just tell them not to occupy

Longneck Territory, or any

territory that they didn't win in a

Saurus Battle.

TOPSY

Quiet, Cera! I know exactly what

I'm gonna tell these wasteful

scoundrels.

(turns to Bron, Hammond,

and Noland, and snorts)

Bron… Hammond… Noland… if my herd

beats your herds in the next Saurus

Battle Day, mark my words — I will

banish all your herds from the

Great Valley!

All the Longnecks, duckbills, and Spiketails gasp. Many shouts of protest come from them. Some Longnecks, who are now gathering behind Bron, are looking aghast.

DINOS (O.S.)

This is outrageous! You can't do

this to us!

Littlefoot, Spike, Ducky, Cera, and Petrie all gather among each other, looking around them with horror. Then the five of them exchange horrified glances between each other.

Bron stomps his foot.

BRON

Topsy, I will not allow that to

happen! You may have the green food

within a herd's territory if you

win a Saurus Battle against that

herd. But that doesn't mean you can

do what you want with the herd

itself!

VOICE (O.S.)

Oh yeah? He sure can if he teams up

with us!

The dinos look over to the junction between Longneck, Duckbill, and Spiketail Territories.

The leaders of the Hypsilophodons and Domeheads are walking over, coming from Spiketail Territory since they beat the Spiketails in a Saurus Battle last night. Hyp is accompanying his father, smirking.

Littlefoot gasps.

36.

LITTLEFOOT (V.O.)

Horace and Poe… leaders of the

Hypsilophodon and Domehead herds.

Littlefoot turns to Spike.

LITTLEFOOT (V.O.) (CONT'D) They're occupying Spiketail Territory since they beat them in a Saurus Battle last night…

Horace is frowning over at the Longnecks, duckbills, and Spiketails.

HORACE

I'm also in favor of driving out

these wasteful scaliwags. What an

abomination for them to just give

away free food without letting

anyone put up a fight!

(he punches his palm)

If my herd beats you bozos, I'm

also going to help Topsy drive you

all out of the Great Valley!

POE speaks between snorts, clenching fists with a scrunched up face, looking ready to ram into something.

POE

Yeah, me too.

Poe snorts and butts his head against a tree, sending it toppling over to a nearby Spiketail, who runs away, scared.

Topsy shifts his gaze over to Horace and Poe, then turns back to glare at the Longnecks, duckbills, and Spiketails.

TOPSY

So it's settled then! If you want

to keep your place in the Valley,

you will have to win your Saurus

Battles against all three of us:

Threehorns, Hypsilophodons, and

Domeheads. If we all beat you, we

will all occupy your territories…

and we will all chase you out of

the Valley, into the Mysterious

Beyond.

All the dinos look intimidated as they see more Threehorns, Domeheads, and Hypsilophodons appear and join their herd leaders, snorting and giving challenging looks at the others.

37.

Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike all look at one another, shocked.

LITTLEFOOT

Now we're fighting to keep our

place in the Valley? This is bad…

DUCKY

(puts hands on her cheeks)

The Threehorns, Domeheads, and

Hypsilophodons have been the

hardest opponents for my herd to

fight! We lose against them all the

time… we were so glad that the

Domeheads and Hypsilophodons didn't

challenge us in a battle last

night.

Hyp walks passed them, smirking.

HYP

You losers better watch out! Next

Saurus Battle, you're all gonna get

blown to smithereens by ME!

As he walks away, Petrie shudders.

PETRIE

Now me really don't want to be a

Saurus Warrior!

LITTLEFOOT

Well, I wasn't looking forward to

our Saurus Warrior Initiation

before, but now I am.

(he looks over to his

herd)

I need to fight hard and make sure

my herd doesn't lose its place in

the Great Valley.

DUCKY

Ohhh but this is awful! Cera, I

don't want to have to fight your

herd! Especially not if it's to

keep our home in the Valley!

(puts a hand on her head)

I'll have to give it all I can to

help my herd… even if you and I

become the last dinos in the

Fighting Pit!

Cera gazes down, looking conflicted.

38.

CERA

Ugh… this really sucks…

Topsy walks over to the five friends with a frown.

TOPSY

Cera?! Come along! Your Saurus

Warrior Initiation is tonight, and

there are still a couple of pre-

warrior exercises I'd like you to

do. I need you to be extra-prepared

since we now must fight our hardest

to drive out these wasteful scums.

Topsy shoots a challenging glare at Bron and the huge crowd of Longnecks, duckbills, and Spiketails that were now gathered, before finally glaring at Littlefoot, Ducky, Petrie and Spike.

TOPSY (CONT'D)

And on top of that… you are to stay

away from these scoundrels you call

friends.

(he snorts at Littlefoot,

Ducky, Petrie, and Spike,

making them jump back)

I will not have my daughter get

soft around the very enemies we are

trying to drive out.

Littlefoot, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike gasp.

Cera looks scared as she gazes up at her dad.

CERA

But dad —

She looks like she's about to protest. But then she catches a glimpse of Binky in the crowd of Threehorns that had joined. He gives her a teasing smirk. Cera frowns and then gives her dad a determined glare.

CERA (CONT'D)

I'll be the strongest warrior in

our herd.

As Littlefoot and the others watch Cera head away with Topsy, they all look unsettled. They exchanged disheartened glances.

DUCKY

Topsy called us enemies…

Spike hangs head in sorrow. Littlefoot watches Cera go with a longing look in his eyes, looking disheartened.

39.

Then Ducky's mother and Petrie's mother appear.

DUCKY'S MOTHER

Ducky? Let's get going…

PETRIE'S MOTHER

Petrie… you too…

Ducky and Petrie turn to Littlefoot and Spike, and bid farewell. Then Anya is seen, standing at her mother's side; her mother nods to Spike, who gazes at them with sorrow and slowly walks over to them.

Littlefoot watches as his friends part ways with their herds, and then all the herds disperse. He looks over his shoulder to see the Domeheads and the Hypsilophodons shoot them smirks, before heading back into Spiketail Territory with the Spiketails.

Littlefoot then finally watches as Cera disappears in the distance with the Threehorns in Duckbill Territory.

Then Bron calls for him.

BRON

Littlefoot? Come along.

Littlefoot catches up with the rest of the longneck herd, and he notices Ali with them. She is looking at the ground, her eyes full of worry and sadness. She looks over her shoulder, makes eye contact with him, then raises her eyebrows and immediately looks away.

Littlefoot hurries up to her.

LITTLEFOOT

Ali? Are you —

ALI

Ugh! Don't talk to me, Littlefoot!

Ali walks faster away from him.

ALI (CONT'D)

I can't believe you're actually

friends with that Threehorn! And

now her entire herd is trying to

drive us ALL out of the Valley!

LITTLEFOOT

Ali… Cera isn't responsible for

what her herd wants to do with us.

40.

ALI

It doesn't matter!

She stops and turns to give him a sad, desperate look.

ALI (CONT'D)

You shouldn't have ever become

friends with her! And I shouldn't

have ever given her the benefit of

the doubt when we were children.

She's a betrayer… she and her

entire herd are!

She whips her head away from Littlefoot, tears streaming down her face and neck; she is shaking her head, sobbing.

ALI (CONT'D)

I just got here just a few days

ago… and now I'm about to lose my

home.

Littlefoot walks up to her side.

LITTLEFOOT

Ali, don't worry. Like I said, I'll

be sure to train hard to fight for

our herd, and I'll also help YOU

become a strong fighter for our

herd.

(gives her an encouraging

nudge)

I'm here for you, Ali. There's

nothing to worry about.

Ali sniffles and slowly shakes her head.

ALI

You're friends with Cera. That

makes you soft with the enemy.

(she begins to walk away)

There's no way I can trust you to

fight hard for our herd. Or for me.

Ali walks away, leaving Littlefoot staring after her with a look of hurt and disappointment.

NARRATOR (V.O)

That night, the five friends had

their Saurus Warrior Initiation

Ceremony. The ceremony took place

in each of their own territories.

41.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - VARIOUS TERRITORIES - NIGHT

INTERCUTTING BETWEEN TERRITORIES:

Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike in their own territories. Each are standing with 4-5 other dinos their age in a horizontal line, each of them walking forward to have a wreath of tree stars placed over their necks by their herd leaders and the elders in their herds.

Bron places a wreath on Littlefoot, and Grandpa Gilbert places one over Shorty beside him. Shorty is looking proud and determined.

Littlefoot then watches as Ali stands on Shorty's other side, staring at the ground, sad and scared as Grandma Gertrude places a wreath over her neck.

Ali turns to look at Rhett, who is on her other side. Rhett is giving a proud smile as another elder longneck places a wreath over him. He then shoots Ali a wink, to which Ali lightens up and gives a small giggle.

Littlefoot gives a small frown, looking a bit jealous.

The scene shifts to show Topsy placing a wreath over Cera, and by her side, an elder Threehorn places one over Binky. Cera and Binky exchange glances, with Binky smirking and Cera glaring. Greta and Maddie are on her other side, and they get wreaths placed over them by other elders.

Trisha watches in the crowd, standing at Tria's side. Both of them smile at Cera and gather around to congratulate her. Then Trisha hurries over to Greta and Maddie and congratulates them. The two girls smile proudly, then shoot Cera snobbish stares, whisper to each other, then break out in laughter.

Cera snorts and glares at them. She then feels Binky nudge her, give her a smirk, then walk away. Cera stares after him, opening her mouth to show clenched teeth.

The scene shifts to Ducky, getting a wreath placed over her by her herd leader. Ducky then turns to gather around the group of four girly duckbills who also have wreaths around their necks.

Calvert is also seen with a wreath placed on his neck.

The four girly duckbills are all giggling and congratulating Ducky, and she also congratulates them. Then she and Calvert hold hands, stare into each other's eyes, and bump noses.

42.

Ducky walks over to her mother, who is congratulating five other duckbills who look almost identical to her; these are her siblings, and they all hug each other.

Petrie is shown shuddering as he gets a wreath placed over him.

Spike is looking sleepy as he gets a wreath placed over him. Then he lightens up as Anya bounds over to nudge him with a playful smile, wearing her own wreath.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

The five dinosaurs were all told

that they would begin their first

Saurus Warrior training session the

next morning.

EXT. GREAT VALLEY - WILLOW GARDEN - NIGHT

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Littlefoot was unable to sleep that

night, as all he could think about

was how awful it was that he had to

fight against the herds of his own

friends, just to keep his own herd

in the Valley.

Littlefoot is tossing and turning, looking distracted.

EXT. GREAT VALLEY - LONGNECK TERRITORY - DAWN

Littlefoot is at the border junction of Duckbill and Spiketail Territories, speaking with Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike. They are just finishing up talking to each other.

PETRIE

Oh… me was also unable to sleep.

DUCKY

The Ceremony was a lot of fun and

it was nice to celebrate with the

other duckbills who were also

initiated into warriors. But… oh… I

do not want to start training. No,

no, no.

Cera is looking over her shoulder back in Threehorn Territory, her eyes narrowed.

43.

LITTLEFOOT

We're all still promising to

refrain from fighting each other as

much as we can… right Cera?

CERA

Ugh… I will try.

Spike is chewing on tree stars. He exchanges apprehensive glances with Ducky.

DUCKY

(whispers to Spike)

I do not want to fight Cera, but I

also do not want to be driven out

of the Great Valley.

Ducky slowly shakes her head.

SPIKE

Eh… heh…

Littlefoot notices their exchange, then turns to Cera.

LITTLEFOOT

Cera, are you —

CERA

Look, I'm gonna get an early start

on training. I'll see you guys

later.

As Cera turns to walk away, the others all exchange concerned glances, then Ducky and Spike turn to their territories.

DUCKY

I guess we should get going too…

good luck on your training, you

guys.

She nods to the others and then walks away.

Littlefoot and Petrie are left. They look at each other.

PETRIE

(shivers)

W-will we meet up again?

LITTLEFOOT

I'll be here every morning before

training session, and every night

before bedtime.

44.

PETRIE

Oh, good… then me will be here too.

Littlefoot smiles and watches as Petrie leaves. Then he turns to see Ali in the distance, staring at him with an aghast look on her face. She shakes her head and dashes away.

Littlefoot stares after her, looking surprised, then disheartened. Then he gives a determined frown.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Seeing how disappointed Ali was

made Littlefoot even more motivated

to train hard as a Saurus Warrior.

Unfortunately, that also made it

harder for Littlefoot to stay

comfortable around his friends.

Littlefoot then shoots a concerned look over his shoulders at the other territories, then turns toward his territory where Ali was standing, reforming his determined frown.

EXT. GREAT VALLEY - LONGNECK TERRITORY - GREEN FIELDS - DAY

The four juvenile Longnecks are training with the adult Saurus Warriors.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Nevertheless, Littlefoot trained

hard. Not only was he willing to

defend his herd and keep their

place in the Valley, but he also

wanted to show Ali that he was a

longneck worthy of her attention,

worthy of her trust.

Littlefoot dodges the tail whip of another longneck warrior. Then Littlefoot looks over his shoulder in surprise to see Ali cheering on Rhett as Rhett also dodges the tail-whips of the older warriors.

ALI

Go Rhett! Go Rhett! Yes!

Littlefoot's face grows disappointed, and he gives a confused frown to Rhett as the other dinosaur struts around with his head held high, looking proud.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

And Littlefoot was not the only

dinosaur training hard.

45.

Cera is head-butting with other Threehorn warriors, while exchanging competitive glances with Binky.

In the midst of it, she is also trying to ignore Greta and Maddie as they laugh and whisper about her to each other.

Trisha is looking uneasy beside them.

Topsy is occasionally seen watching Cera with a stern look on his face. He shifts his eyes from Cera to Binky, and his frown intensifies.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

Littlefoot also kept to his word

about meeting at the borders every

morning and night, in case his

friends were ever there. At first,

they would meet every night to

discuss how training was going for

all of them.

INSERT SCENE of them meeting and looking like they are talking.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

Cera, however, became more and more

distant.

INSERT SCENE of Cera looking angry as she looks over her shoulder at her territory.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

Soon, Cera had stopped showing up

to their meetings.

INSERT SCENE of the four looking around with concern.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

Then, as the days drew closer to

the next Saurus Battle Day, Ducky

and Spike also stopped showing up,

as they had chosen to dedicate more

time into training.

INSERT SCENES of them training with the warriors in their own respective herds.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

Soon, it was just Littlefoot and

Petrie meeting up at the borders.

SCENES of Littlefoot and Petrie looking sad as they exchange glances, and look around to see no one else with them.

46.

EXT. GREAT VALLEY - FIGHTING PIT - DAY

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Finally, the month was up, and the

big day came. It was the first

Saurus Battle Day for the five

friends.

Littlefoot, Ducky, and Spike hoped

it wouldn't be their last.

Crash!

Whoosh!

Thud!

EXT. LITTLEFOOT'S FIGHT - FIGHTING PIT - DAY

Littlefoot is fighting in the Fighting Pit, fighting the Domeheads. He leaps around, avoiding the butting head of a constantly charging Domehead Saurus Warrior.

EXT. CERA'S FIGHT - FIGHTING PIT - SAME

In another portion of the Fighting Pit, Cera is ramming herself against a duckbill, looking furious as she throws the warrior aside.

She keeps casting glances over at Binky, who is moving swiftly with a determined, confident smirk, crashing his horns against more duckbills than her. Cera scoffs and tries to fight harder and chase after more duckbills.

Meanwhile, Ducky is trying to stay away from Cera, looking worried each time she casts glances at Cera. Then she jumps and does a flip in the air, kicking at a juvenile Threehorn Saurus Warrior, then doing the same to Maddie.

Calvert joins her side and tries to help her fight. Around them the four girly duckbills are squealing and crying each time they try to fight; many keep falling. Ducky and Calvert both try to help each of them fight off the Threehorns, but the two of them become more and more injured with bruises each time.

EXT. SPIKE'S FIGHT - FIGHTING PIT - SAME

In another section of the Fighting Pit, Spike stabs his tail against a Hypsilophodon. He then runs over and helps Anya fight off another Hypsilophodon warrior.

47.

As soon as they throw off the Hypsilophodon, Hyp jumps in and starts trying to kick and punch at them, while the two Spiketails dodge and try to swipe their tails at them. However, they keep missing him.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Petrie was the only one out of the

five who wasn't fighting to keep

his place in the Valley. However,

the young flyer wasn't any less

distressed than the others.

Petrie flees a Maiasaurus, then delivers a slash with his talons, causing the Maiasaurus to faint. He then gasps and shudders, and whimpers, looking ashamed with what he's done.

NARRATOR (V.O., CONT'D)

It was not an enjoyable time for

any of the five friends.

EXT. LITTLEFOOT'S FIGHT - FIGHTING PIT - DAY

Littlefoot and the longneck herd fighting.

Littlefoot is leaving the Fighting Pit, too exhausted to fight. He looks over his shoulder to see that Bron is the last longneck against the Domehead herd leader; Bron defeats the Domehead herd leader and Littlefoot and all the Longnecks look relieved.

Then they all look disheartened as they see the Hypsilophodons coming over. They are all looking ready to fight — the Spiketails behind them look defeated.

The scene shifts to show the Longnecks fighting the Hypsilohpodons; Littlefoot and Hyp are locked in battle, and soon Littlefoot makes Hyp trip. Finally, the Hypsilophodon is unable to get up; he keeps falling over and stumbling. He gives a scoff, swats in Littlefoot's direction, and limps over to the sidelines where the other defeated-looking Hypsilophodons are.

From the corner of his eye, Littlefoot sees Ali smiling at him — she is in the sidelines, with other defeated Longnecks.

ALI

Congrats, Littlefoot! You're the

bravest longneck ever!

Littlefoot smiles and continues fighting.

CUT FROM from Littlefoot fighting the Hypsilophodons TO fighting the Threehorns.

48.

He is dodging all their ruthless head-crashing and slashing horns. He jumps aside from Binky, evading him. Binky chases him for a while, then gets swept in a crowd of other older Saurus Warrior Longnecks.

Cera zooms past the front of Littlefoot and rams her horns into a longneck Saurus Warrior their age; he falls aside in front of Ali, making her squeal. Then Ali looks at Cera and dashes away, Cera looks ready to charge at her. Littlefoot gasps, but before he or Cera could move, Rhett jumps in front of Cera and engages in battle with her. The two of them alternate between lunging and evading each other.

Ali is at the sidelines again, watching with a desperate smile.

ALI (CONT'D)

Go Rhett! Yes! Go! You're the

bravest longneck ever!

Littlefoot glances at her, then watches Rhett and Cera for a moment.

Greta jumps in front of Littlefoot. Littlefoot fights her for a while, then trips her and whips at her.

Eventually she is unable to get up and is too weak. She drags her feet over to the Threehorn sidelines.

FADE OUT.

EXT. GREAT VALLEY - LATER

TIME-LAPSE OF fewer and fewer Longnecks and Threehorns, until finally it's just Bron and Topsy. Bron defeats Topsy.

The Longnecks watching are too exhausted to cheer. Bron is panting as he gazes down at a grunting, groaning Topsy.

BRON

There… our residence in the Valley

remains.

Topsy gets up, panting, glaring at him.

TOPSY

Enjoy your time here while you

still can, longneck. We will fight

you on all the Saurus Battle Days

to come.

49.

He walks over to join Poe and Horace. They are both wearing victorious smiles as they face the duckbills and the Spiketails. The duckbills and Spiketails are looking bedraggled, ashamed, and forlorn.

Littlefoot gasps and raises his eyebrows.

LITTLEFOOT

No…

FADE TO:

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - VALLEY WALLS - DAY

Topsy is ramming his horns into the Valley walls, knocking aside a boulder. Then he stomps his foot.

TOPSY

Alright, now go on!

The duckbills and Spiketails are marching out of the opening in the Valley walls, while the Threehorns, Domeheads, and Hypsilophodons are watching them at their side.

The other herds in the Valley are gathered, watching the duckbills and Spiketails leave.

Littlefoot, Petrie, Ducky, and Spike are with one another, looking sad.

LITTLEFOOT

(facing Ducky and Spike)

I'm so sorry you guys lost against

all three herds… they were much

tougher than I expected.

DUCKY

(crying)

Oh, that was the worst time of my

life! It was, it was…

Spike heaves a sigh, looks at some green food, sniffs at it, then sighs again and looks away.

PETRIE

Me going to miss you two!

He has tears going down his face as he hugs Ducky.

LITTLEFOOT

We're all going to stay friends, no

matter how far apart we are.

50.

Littlefoot steps forward and nudges Spike affectionately.

They all have a moment hugging and nudging each other, then they hear footsteps. They turn to see Cera standing there, looking bedraggled and covered in bruises. She has a constrained look on her face as she walks over to them.

The others give her uneasy looks, but Ducky bursts into more tears, throws her arms around Cera, and sobs.

DUCKY

Cera, Cera! I will surely miss you

too! I will, I will!

Cera looks taken aback for a moment, then she also rubs her nose against Ducky's shoulder as she hugs.

CERA

I'll miss you too, Ducky. I'm… I'm

so sorry.

DUCKY

Oh please don't apologize, this was

not your fault! You had no choice!

And… neither did we.

CERA

Be safe out there. Both of you.

Ducky and Spike both nod.

They turn and see Topsy stomping over. Cera gives one look at him, gasps, and dashes away. She is gone by the time Topsy walks up and notices the four dinos together.

TOPSY

Hey! Move along! Go on! Shoo!

Topsy nudges Ducky and Spike away from Littlefoot and Petrie.

Littlefoot and Petrie watch helplessly as Ducky and Spike cast each other sad glances, then part ways to walk with their herds. Ducky grabs Calvert's hand, and the two of them walk away, looking sorrowful. Spike joins Anya's side, and they walk with hanging heads.

EXT. THE MYSTERIOUS BEYOND - OPENING BOULDER – DAY

The duckbills and spiketails are seen trickling out of the Valley walls. They pass by a cliff, where a pair of gleaming eyes are seen watching them. A hiss is heard, and the lithe forms of velociraptors are seen hissing and revealing their teeth, tapping their arched toe-claws. Then they are slinking beside the cliff, following the two herds as they venture farther away.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - OPENING BOULDER - DAY

The dinos are watching the last of the duckbills and Spiketails trickle out of the opening. Then Topsy rams his horns against the boulder to close the opening. He turns to the Longnecks.

51.

The Longnecks, Domeheads, and the Hypsilophodons are the only herds still watching.

TOPSY

(facing the Longnecks)

This is what happens when herds

become wasteful in the Valley, too

weak to fight for the resources

they need. After the next Saurus

Battle, it will be your turns to

march out of here.

Topsy walks passed the Longnecks, and his herd follows him along.

TOPSY (CONT'D)

(to the Longnecks)

You may have defeated my herd, as

well as the Domeheads and

Hypsilophodons. But on the next

Saurus Battle Day, all three of us

shall take you down just like we

did with those duckbills and

Spiketails.

As he passes the Longnecks, Cera is a short distance away, standing on a small hill alone, gazing at the walls where the boulder was closed. She has a sorrowed look in her eyes. Then she hears Topsy's bellow.

TOPSY (CONT'D)

Cera! Come along! Time to go home

and rest. You're getting up extra

early for tomorrow's training

session!

CERA

Ugh… I don't think I can fight

another battle after tonight…

Cera sighs, mutters under her breath and walks over.

CERA (CONT'D)

Yes, daddy.

As she catches up to her herd, she passes by Binky, who laughs.

BINKY

Heya small-horns! Too bad you still

didn't last as long as I did on the

battlefield!

Cera stops in her tracks and whirls around to snort at Binky.

52.

CERA

Hey, at least I defeated more

Saurus Warriors than you did!

Binky keeps his smirk while raising an eyebrow and continuing to speak in his cool tone.

BINKY

Mmm… I think your horns are growing

in the wrong direction. I totally

defeated more Saurus Warriors than

you, especially when we were up

against the Longnecks!

CERA

You did NOT defeat more warriors

than me!

Greta is walking over with Maddie and Trisha.

GRETA

Oh yes, he did! I was counting!

Greta and Maddie walk up on either side of Binky and stare at Cera with their snobbish looks.

MADDIE

(giggles)

How shameful that the herd leader's

daughter couldn't beat more Saurus

Warriors than Binky.

(turns to Trisha)

I bet when Trisha starts her Saurus

Warrior training, she'll be the

daughter who will please Topsy more

than you would!

Trisha gives an uneasy look as she shifts her eyes from the two girls to Cera, who is fuming.

As the three Threehorn girls laugh with Binky and pass Cera, Cera turns and glares after them. She slowly follows along the side of the Threehorn herd.

EXT. GREAT VALLEY - LONGNECK TERRITORY - GREEN FIELDS - DAY

The juvenile longneck Saurus Warriors are training again — Littlefoot, Shorty, Ali, and Rhett are running around with older juveniles who were made warriors before them, and there are a few adult Saurus Warriors training with them as well. Bron is also there, teaching some techniques.

53.

Littlefoot skids away from his training opponent, then catches a glimpse of Ali circling Rhett while smiling and batting her eyes at him.

ALI

Rhett, you looked so brave on the

battlefields last night. How many

warriors did you defeat?

RHETT

Hmm… I had taken down so many dinos

that I lost count! But I would say…

no less than ten warriors in each

battle.

ALI

Oh wow!

RHETT

And when we fought the Threehorns,

I'm pretty sure I defeated more

than 15!

ALI

OH WOW!

Littlefoot raises an eyebrow, giving a mild frown in their direction.

LITTLEFOOT (V.O.)

Ten warriors? That's a lot for a

Saurus Warrior at our level… I

don't think I defeated more than

five in each battle…

Littlefoot then gives a quiet gasp as he watches Rhett snuggle his shoulder against Ali and give her a confident smile.

RHETT

Don't worry, Ali. I was able to

defeat more warriors than any other

longneck at our level, so I can

protect you out there. You can

always count on me.

ALI

(giggles)

Of course I can. You're so brave!

Keep close to me during the next

Saurus Battle Day!

54.

RHETT

I'll stay by your side and protect

you from any warrior out there.

Littlefoot walks away, slowly shaking his head with a disappointed frown.

LITTLEFOOT (V.O.)

Ali never looked this calm around

me whenever I would promise her I'd

keep her safe.

He raises his head and his frown intensifies.

LITTLEFOOT (V.O.) (CONT'D) I must train harder… I must defeat more warriors out there and prove that I am just as capable as —

Littlefoot breaks out of his thoughts as he hears Shorty yelling.

SHORTY

I don't care if it's too dangerous!

I must beat Littlefoot!

Littlefoot looks over to see Shorty standing before Bron. Bron is giving him a mild frown, while Shorty is looking furious.

SHORTY (CONT'D)

My rockfall scheme will defeat a

handful of opponents at once. I'll

be sure to beat more Saurus

Warriors than Littlefoot, and I'll

become the strongest warrior the

Valley has ever seen!

BRON

Shorty, it is not recommended to

use any obstacles during the Saurus

Battles. You may risk hurting some

warriors from our own herd.

SHORTY

Not if I'm a skilled enough

warrior!

Shorty stomps his foot.

BRON

Shorty, look. I understand that you

want to be a strong and competent

warrior.

55.

BRON (CONT'D)

But what you are planning to do is

dangerous. I will not allow —

SHORTY

Dad! You're always restraining me

from doing ANYTHING to prove

myself! It's not fair! You let

Littlefoot fight however he wants,

and now he's defeated more warriors

than any of the other Longnecks at

our level!

Littlefoot gasps, looking surprised.

LITTLEFOOT (V.O.)

I did? But… Rhett said…

BRON

It doesn't matter who defeats more

warriors than who. We're all

fighting to protect our herd and

keep our home. All that matters is

that we're all doing our best to

defend each other, not compete

against each other.

SHORTY

You just don't want me to get any

better than Littlefoot. You want

your REAL son to stay at the top.

Bron's eyes slightly widen and he looks taken aback. Then his mild frown returns.

BRON

Shorty, that's not true.

SHORTY

Yes it is! You rarely ever scold

him, while you're always snapping

at me whenever I try to prove that

I'm just as a good son as he is!

Shorty whirls around and stomps away.

SHORTY (CONT'D)

I'm gonna work on my rockfall

scheme. There's no way you're gonna

stop me from besting Littlefoot.

(kicks a rock aside)

Just because he's your real son

doesn't mean he should be the

better warrior.

56.

Littlefoot watches the green longneck disappear behind a grove of trees. Then he turns to Bron and walks up to him. His father is staring after Shorty with a look of sadness in his eyes.

LITTLEFOOT

Dad…

BRON

Hello, Littlefoot. How's training

going for you?

LITTLEFOOT

It's… it's going well, I guess.

Littlefoot looks over his shoulder to see Ali standing aside, smiling and giggling as she watches Rhett train with his training opponent. Then Littlefoot looks up at Bron.

LITTLEFOOT (CONT'D)

Did I really defeat more Saurus

Warriors than all the other

Longnecks at our level? Including

Rhett?

BRON

You did. Grandpa Gilbert was

keeping track.

Bron turns over to Grandpa Gilbert and Grandma Gertrude, who are walking over.

GRANDPA GILBERT

You did well out there, Littlefoot.

You defeated eight Domeheads, eight

Hypsilophodons, and six Threehorns.

And Shorty defeated seven dinos in

each of those battles. He came in

second to you.

LITTLEFOOT

Grandpa, how many warriors did

Rhett defeat?

Grandpa Gilbert and Granmda Gertrude exchange amused glances.

GRANDMA GERTRUDE

Littlefoot, do you really need to

know that? You overheard what your

father said to Shorty — it doesn't

matter who defeats more opponents

than who.

57.

GRANDMA GERTRUDE (CONT'D) What matters is that we give it our best to defend each other and keep each other safe in this Valley.

Littlefoot sighs and nods.

LITTLEFOOT

Of course.

EXT. GREAT VALLEY - JUNCTION BORDERS OF TERRITORIES - MORNING

Littlefoot, Cera, and Petrie are standing together; Cera is occupying Duckbill Territory.

PETRIE

O-o-oh! Me miss Ducky and Spike…

things will never be the same

without them

LITTLEFOOT

It certainly won't…

Littlefoot gives a sad look at Cera.

LITTLEFOOT (V.O.)

With the duckbills and Spiketails

gone, the Threehorns are free to

occupy their territories whenever

they please…

Cera is frowning at the ground, not meeting either of their gazes. She gives a quiet snort and kicks a rock aside.

LITTLEFOOT

Hey, Cera? Everything alright?

CERA

My herd now has permanent residence

in Duckbill and Spiketail

Territories. And soon, we're going

to try and claim permanent

residence in yours. Everything is

just peachy.

Littlefoot gives an uneasy look. Cera kicks a twig.

CERA (CONT'D)

My sister, Trisha, is having her

Saurus Warrior Initiation Ceremony

tonight. At least that's something

I can look forward to.

58.

LITTLEFOOT

Oh, that's great! I guess…

Littlefoot then gazes over her shoulder to see Threehorns, Domeheads, and Hypsilophodons in Duckbill Territory. They are laughing in various groups, each with their own herds. Littlefoot sees Hyp with some other Hypsilophodons jumping in the water and throwing rocks at each other, laughing.

Petrie shudders as he watches a Domehead ram its head into a tree, sending it crashing in front of a Threehorn. The Threehorn bellows angrily and crashes its horn at a rock, causing it to roll at the Domehead.

The Domehead runs away and the boulder crashes against many trees and makes them fall.

PETRIE

Ohhh… some of the new inhabitants

don't seem to be doing a good job

taking care of Duckbill Territory…

Scene shifts from Petrie to show more of the Threehorns stomping their way across to Spiketail Territory. They begin knocking trees over with their horns and then chomping noisily at the treestars of the trees they knock over.

Binky passes them, strutting up to Cera with his teasing smirk. He speaks in his chill, teasing voice.

BINKY

Hey there small-horns. Still

flirting with the scoundrels?

Cera whirls around and her scowl returns.

CERA

Don't call my friends scoundrels!

Binky snickers and walks passed her, holding his head high.

BINKY

Keep hanging out with those

weaklings and you'll be as weak as

them!

Littlefoot frowns and opens his mouth to say something, but Cera's head appears in front of him.

CERA

Binky, shut up! I'll show you who's

the weakling at training session

today!

59.

BINKY

Ooh, I'm excited. I can't wait to

flop you over like I did yesterday.

Cera snorts and charges after him.

CERA

I'll flop you over right now, just

to warm up!

Cera races after Binky, attempting to headbutt at his side to knock him over, but Binky easily jumps aside and dashes around her.

He rams his head at her butt and makes her do a somersault up to the border to Longneck Territory.

Littlefoot and Petrie gasp and hurry over to her.

BINKY

(snickers)

Don't get too excited yet, small-

horns. We're not conquering

Longneck Territory until next

Saurus Battle Day.

Cera gasps, realizing her chin was just behind the borders of Longneck Territory. She shoots up to her feet, takes a step back, then whirls around to glare at Binky. She lets out an angry bellow and charges at him again.

Littlefoot and Petrie watch as she and Binky disappear over a hill, chasing after each other — Binky snickering and Cera yowling with rage.

FADE TO:

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - TRAINING FIELD - DAY

Littlefoot trains hard with the other Longnecks.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Once again, the young dinosaurs had

no choice but to train hard with

their fellow Saurus Warriors.

Although Littlefoot did not want to

fight the other herds, especially

the Threehorns, he was determined

to keep his herd safe in the

Valley. And his motivation to train

hard only increased as the days

went on.

60.

Littlefoot trains with Bron, casting glances over his shoulder to see Ali smiling at Rhett. Ali is giggling as Rhett trains with the other older Saurus Warriors, dodging the rocks that his trainer is rolling his way.

Littlefoot gives a determined frown, and runs faster and whips his tail harder at all the boulders and rocks. Bron rolls in his way.

As Littlefoot kicks a rock that ends up crashing loudly, Ali then turns over to Littlefoot's direction. For a moment, she is watching with curiosity, tilting her head.

Littlefoot then jumps over Bron's tail as Bron attempts to whip at him. Littlefoot lands, crashing against a rock and sending it crumbling to pieces. He pants, turning around to see a small, interested smile form on Ali's face. Littlefoot raises his neck, looking happy.

But then, Rhett zooms in front of Ali, evading a tail-whip from his trainer. Ali's attention immediately shifts back to him, and her smile widens as she watches Rhett knock more rocks off a hill.

ALI

Go Rhett! You're so brave and

strong!

Littlefoot frowns again and turns to whip more rocks out of his way, whacking harder and running faster to dodge Bron's tail-whips.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - CLIFFSIDE - DAY

The scene shifts over to Shorty, who is watching Bron and Littlefoot with contempt. He then turns to his training opponent at the top of a nearby hill, who rolls a boulder down his way.

Shorty gives an extremely forceful tail-whip, sending the boulder zooming across the land and hitting against many trees. The trees fall over, crashing against a cliff wall and causing a small avalanche of rocks.

A few Longnecks training in the field turn and gasp, looking Shorty's way. The longneck who was training him also looks aghast.

A determined smile forms on Shorty's face, and he races over to the rockfall, whipping his tail against the rock pile and sending a bunch of rocks rolling in different directions at rapid speeds.

61.

The rocks are slamming into many trees and causing many to fall over.

We focus on the rocks that crashed against a tree...

FADE TO:

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - THREEHORN TERRITORY - DAY

Another rock in Threehorn Territory.

Cera crashes into the rock, breathing heavily with a look of rage on her face.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Although Cera was not willing to

fight Littlefoot and his herd, she

was determined to prove herself a

strong and competent Threehorn,

both to her rival and her father.

Cera turns to glare at Binky, who crashes into many rocks of different sizes and shapes.

Cera then turns to ram her head against more rocks. She rams her head against various rocks, trees, and any obstacle in her way, causing various rocks and small logs flying and rolling all over the place.

Many of the training Saurus Warriors around her grunt and jump back from the flying obstacles.

Then the scene shifts to show Cera head-butting other juvenile Threehorn Saurus Warriors, training hard.

Cera is headbutting another Saurus Warrior in the Threehorn training field, head-to-head with the Threehorn, throwing them off. Then she locks head with Binky, who throws her off easily.

Fuming, Cera chases after him, but another Saurus Warrior jumps in front of her and locks in a headbutting fight with her.

FADE TO:

EXT. GREAT VALLEY - FIGHTING PIT - NIGHT

Cera headbutting a longneck's side in the Fighting Pit, causing it to topple over.

62.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

When the next Saurus Battle Day

came, Cera fought her hardest,

giving little to no remorse for all

the warriors she took down.

The Longnecks fight the Threehorns.

A brief SHOT of the Hypsilophodons and Domeheads, who are walking away from the Fighting Pit, looking exhausted after having lost to the Longnecks.

Hyp looks over his shoulder, looking angry and bitter as he watches the Longnecks fighting the Threehorns.

Scene then shifts closer to the Longnecks and Threehorns fighting.

SHORT SEQUENCE of Ali running away from all the Threehorns, staying by Rhett's side, and trying to hide behind him. Rhett gets hurt more and more, since he keeps getting tackled and attacked by all the Threehorns that are running after Ali.

He manages to fight them off, then collapses, struggling to get up. Ali gasps and nudges him, looking frantic.

ALI

Rhett, get up! I'm gonna get hurt!

She looks up and screams as a Threehorn runs her way. She leaves Rhett's side and runs to the sidelines with the other defeated Longnecks.

Petrie is hovering nearby, watching and trembling. He occasionally jumps and shuts his eyes when he sees the fighting dinos strike each other.

Littlefoot is seen defeating many Threehorns, Cera is seen defeating many Longnecks.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

But Cera was not the only one

fighting ruthlessly against her

opponents.

Shorty is overturning a bunch of Threehorns, inflicting lots of damage on them as he fights.

As he is locked in battle with Trisha, he turns and races over to a boulder by the side of the field. He whips his tail against it, sending the boulder zooming across to the rocky walls containing the Fighting Pit. As it hits against the walls with a large crash, a small rockfall forms.

63.

By the time Trisha hurries over to him, the rocks are tumbling her way. Trisha lets out a startled bellow, but before she can even attempt to turn to flee, the rocks bury over her small body.

Many other rocks continue to tumble and hit other Threehorns. As many are caught off guard and stumbling aside from the rocks, Shorty rams his tail at the pile of rocks that form over Trisha, sending some of the piled rocks flying in different directions, striking at the surprised Threehorns.

(The scene looks similar to the scene during training session, when his rocks were hitting against all the trees after he had scattered them).

Soon, many Threehorns are wailing in pain, with lots of blood and bruises. Many are too weak to stand up.

Topsy's eyes are wide as he looks over his herd and all the fallen remaining dinos. He, Binky, and Cera are the only Threehorns standing.

TOPSY

What is this?! Get up!

Topsy turns to shove a nearby fallen Threehorn with his horns. It tries to get up but falls easily back down, groaning.

TOPSY (CONT'D)

COME ON! GET UP! We cannot lose

against the Longnecks again!

Topsy prods his horns at another fallen Threehorn, but it lets out an agonized groan and doesn't get up.

Bron walks over, panting with an exhausted frown.

BRON

Topsy, it's just you and me now.

The rest of your herd is in no

shape to fight.

TOPSY

(whirls around)

There are still some Saurus

Warriors standing! Cera! Binky!

Let's take down the last of these —

Topsy runs, but stops in his tracks as he sees an older longneck Saurus warrior defeat both Cera and Binky with one tail whip, sending them both over to the rockpile where Trisha was buried.

64.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - ROCKPILE - NIGHT

They crash into the remains of that rockpile, causing the rocks to roll away and free Trisha.

However, Cera and Binky are hurt from the collision. They try to get up, only to stumble.

TOPSY

Cera! Come on, get up! This is

unacceptable!

Topsy stomps over. Cera coughs and groans.

CERA

Dad… I can't… I'm sorry…

Topsy glares down at her.

TOPSY

Cera, as my daughter, you are

expected to fight your hardest! Now

come on! On your feet!

Topsy shoves his horns at her, trying to force her to stand, but she falls, right next to Trisha's unmoving body.

Topsy notices Trisha's unmoving body, and his glare falters.

He then hears a female cry.

VOICE (O.S.)

Trisha?!

Tria is seen running over. She runs up to Topsy's side and widens her eyes at Trisha.

TRIA

Trisha! Oh, my poor sweet baby!

Tria gives Trisha a gentle nudge. Trisha lets out a meek groan.

Cera gasps. She also gives her sister a gentle nudge.

TRIA (CONT'D)

(breathes a sigh of

relief)

Oh thank heavens you're still

alive… both of you.

Tria also glances at Cera. Then she turns to Topsy and glares at him.

65.

TRIA (CONT'D)

How could you be so ruthless to

your daughters? OUR own daughter

was nearly killed!

Topsy looks a bit taken aback. He slowly shakes his head and turns to look at Trisha. He speaks in a steady voice.

TOPSY

Let's get everyone back to

Threehorn Territory.

As Topsy and Tria help Trisha get up, they venture away, while Binky follows them along. He does not look at Cera as he pants, limping after the others.

Cera also doesn't look his way, though she waits until he passes her and is a short distance away from her. Then she rises to her feet, and limps after them.

Littlefoot ventures over with Petrie, looking wide-eyed.

LITTLEFOOT

Oh my goodness. Cera, is Trisha

going to be alright?

Cera turns to face Littlefoot with a scowl. She is still breathing heavily. She lowers her head at him and speaks through clenched teeth.

CERA

She will be fine. No thanks to your

stupid stepbrother.

Littlefoot gasps. He and Petrie watch as Cera turns to limp after the other Threehorns, not looking back.

EXT. GREAT VALLEY - LONGNECK TERRITORY - MORNING

Bron talks to Shorty. He has a serious frown.

SHORTY

What?! You can't ban me from the

next Saurus Battle Day! I've become

one of the strongest Saurus

Warriors!

(he lashes his tail)

And it was thanks to me that our

herd was able to win against the

Hypsilophodons, Domeheads, and

Threehorns!

66.

BRON

What you did during the battle

against the Threehorns was beyond

dangerous. Dinosaurs almost died

because of what you did with all

those rocks. And on top of that,

you disobeyed my orders.

SHORTY

My rockfall scheme was what saved

us from losing against those

Threehorns!

BRON

How many times do I need to tell

you that just because something

works, it doesn't mean it should be

done? When we are fighting as

Saurus Warriors, we only fight

until our opponents are too weak to

fight back. Not until they are on

the verge of death.

SHORTY

It's not my fault some dinos like

Trisha are too weak to sustain

themselves in battle.

BRON

Shorty, if you're going to talk

like a Threehorn, then you will be

treated like a Threehorn. You will

not fight with the other Saurus

Warriors in our herd for the next

Saurus Battle Day.

(his tail gives a slight

twitch)

Try bargaining with me again, and

I'll revoke your Saurus Warrior

status altogether.

Shorty's frown slowly morphs into a look of discouragement. He turns his back on him, and hangs his head, a mixed look of anger and sadness on the ground.

SHORTY

You just don't like to see that I

beat more opponents than Littlefoot

did.

Shorty kicks a rock out of his way.

67.

BRON

Shorty, cut that out. You're just

as much of a son to me as

Littlefoot. I'm not trying to

punish you here, Shorty. I'm

disciplining you. I want what's

best for both you and Littlefoot.

SHORTY

(scoffs and begins to walk

away)

Yeah right.

As he walks away, he passes by Littlefoot, who is a short distance away. Littlefoot has his back turned to Shorty, as he is watching Rhett and Ali in the distance. Shorty turns to give a derisive look at Littlefoot, then whips his head away, breaking out into a run in the other direction.

Scene shifts to the front of Littlefoot. He is watching with a frown as he overhears Rhett and Ali's conversation.

ALI

(looking sad as she hangs

her head in front of

Rhett)

You didn't last very long out there

against the Threehorns… I was

almost attacked after you fell.

RHETT

Hey, come on, Ali. I did my best,

didn't I?

ALI

You also didn't protect me from all

those Domeheads and Hypsilophodons.

I lost track of you and couldn't

even find you…

RHETT

I'm sorry, Ali. I promise I'll be

stronger next time.

ALI

You think you can be stronger than

Shorty? Gilbert said he defeated

the greatest number of dinosaurs

when he made that rockfall.

RHETT

Hah! I'm a warrior who doesn't need

to use outside obstacles to gain my

victories.

68.

RHETT RHETT

As a matter of fact, I beat more

warriors than Shorty and all the

other Saurus Warriors at our level,

just by using my own body!

Rhett poses sideways, looking valiant.

ALI

Really?

RHETT

Of course!

(nudges her cheek)

I mean it, babe. I can protect you

from anything. And next battle, I

will do a better job protecting

you.

Ali smiles.

ALI

Okay.

Littlefoot winces and rolls his eyes, shaking his head.

Ali and Rhett nudge each other's snouts, then part ways. After Ali watches Rhett disappear over a hill, she turns to walk forward, then raises her eyebrows as she notices Littlefoot walking her way.

ALI (CONT'D)

Littlefoot…

LITTLEFOOT

Hey… um

LITTLEFOOT (V.O.)

Why was I walking up to her again?

Littlefoot shakes his head and clears his throat, then speaks.

LITTLEFOOT

I, uh, I just wanted to see how you

were doing. You recovering well

from the last night's battle?

ALI

Um… I guess so…

69.

LITTLEFOOT

Good… Um… Grandpa Gilbert actually

told me that I came in second to

Shorty.

I defeated the second greatest

number of Saurus Warriors from all

our battles combined last night.

Ali looks up and gazes at Littlefoot, raising an eyebrow.

LITTLEFOOT (CONT'D)

And I didn't even use any rocks or

outside obstacles.

ALI

I'm sure Gilbert just said that to

you because you're his son, and he

just wants to make you feel good.

LITTLEFOOT

What?!

ALI

(looks over her shoulder

and smiles)

Rhett won the most battles without

using obstacles. Because he is the

bravest, strongest dinosaur ever.

If you just stopped hanging out

with Threehorns, duckbills, or any

other awful species out there, you

could be as strong and competent as

him.

Littlefoot stares at her with a confused look, not knowing what to say.

Ali stares back at him, looking a bit ashamed for him. Then she slowly shakes her head and walks away.

Littlefoot watches her go, and as she is out of sight, he turns to walk away.

EXT. BORDERS OF THREEHORN/FLYER TERRITORY - DAY

He stops as he notices Petrie and Cera watching him over the borders of Threehorn and Flyer Territory. They are just a few steps away from him, and Cera is giving him a look of disgust.

LITTLEFOOT

Cera! Petrie!

70.

CERA

Hmph! Where were you this morning?

We were waiting for you to come

over before training sessions

started…

Cera shifts her eyes in the direction where Ali had disappeared to.

CERA (CONT'D)

But apparently it looks like you

were held up by something more

important.

LITTLEFOOT

Sorry! I didn't notice the morning

slip by so quickly.

(walks up closer to them)

Anyway… how's Trisha —

CERA

Look, don't bother asking anything

about me or my sister! Or anything

about the affairs of my herd! Your

stupid step-brother nearly killed

some of the other Threehorn Saurus

Warriors, and it's all thanks to

YOU!

LITTLEFOOT

What?! Me?! What did I do?!

Cera presses her nose against Littlefoot's.

CERA

If you haven't been trying to

impress Miss Whinyscales, you

could've worked on developing a

better relationship with Shorty.

Then he wouldn't have felt the need

to use such idiotic ways to

outshine you!

LITTLEFOOT

(jumps back and glares at

Cera)

Hey, I've been trying to get on

better terms with Shorty ever since

he and dad came to dwell in this

Valley. It's not my fault he's

become a jealous prick! And it

definitely isn't my fault he made

such a stupid decision last night!

71.

CERA

Well, it doesn't help that you were

trying to impress your stupid

girlfriend over there by taking

down so many members in my herd.

You made them easy targets for

Shorty's final blow! And my sister

almost died because of it!

(she snorts, lowering her

horns)

You both are despicable scum who

deserve to be driven out of this

Valley!

Littlefoot and Petrie gasp.

PETRIE

C-Cera… you don't mean that, do

you?

Cera whips her glare to Petrie, causing Petrie to shrink back and whimper.

CERA

Do I just spit out words for the

heck of it?

(whips head back to

Littlefoot)

You and Shorty deserve to be

banished for what you did to my

sister. Your entire herd deserves

to be banished!

Binky walks up to her, snickering.

BINKY

Well lookie here. At last, Miss

Small-horns has finally come to her

senses. About time… Topsy was going

on about how embarrassing it was

that I defeated more total Saurus

Warriors than his own daughter…

AGAIN.

CERA

(whirls around to glare at

him)

SHUT UP, Binky! Next Saurus Battle,

I'll be the one who wins more

battles than ALL Saurus Warriors in

our herd.

Cera stomps past him.

72.

CERA (CONT'D)

I'll drive out every last longneck

from this Valley.

Binky smirks and saunters after her.

BINKY

We'll see about that.

Littlefoot and Petrie watch them go. Petrie turns to Littlefoot with a worried glance, but Littlefoot is frowning after the Threehorns.

EXT. GREAT VALLEY - TRAINING FIELDS - DAY

Littlefoot is fighting hard against the other longneck Saurus Warriors he's training with. He imagines some of them as Cera, and he hurries at them faster.

Scenes shift to show Cera fighting extra hard, imagining the other Threehorns are Littlefoot and Shorty, so that she rams against them with greater force.

EXT. GREAT VALLEY - TRAINING FIELDS - SUNSET

The older Saurus Warriors are dismissing the younger ones from training.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - LONGNECK NEST - NIGHT

Littlefoot heads over to his nest with Bron and his grandparents.

He looks surprised to see the nests empty. He then turns to see Bron, Gilbert, and Gertrude at the borders of Threehorn Territory, speaking with Topsy. Cera is at Topsy's side.

Poe and Horace are also with the two Threehorns, looking furious.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - BORDERS OF THREEHORN TERRITORY - NIGHT

Littlefoot ventures over to hear what they are saying.

TOPSY

(glaring, scornful tone)

What do you mean, you're not

letting him fight?!

73.

TOPSY (CONT'D)

That foolish juvenile almost killed

some of my Saurus Warriors, and one

of my daughters in that blasted

rockfall. And Cera is more than

ready to make that longneck pay!

BRON

I understand your anger, Topsy. And

you have my sincere apologies for

Shorty's behavior. But I am having

Shorty sit out for the next Saurus

Battle Day so that he can learn his

lesson. That's the treatment he

deserves for his misbehavior.

Cera looks up at her angry dad, also looking equally angry herself.

CERA

Don't worry, daddy. I'll make sure

Littlefoot pays double. He took

down almost as much Threehorns in

our herd as Shorty did. He made

everyone else more vulnerable to

Shorty's rockfall.

Littlefoot's curious look morphs into a scowl.

Topsy grunts, looks up at the other Longnecks.

TOPSY

Mark my words, Longnecks. You will

not stand a chance against us in

this upcoming Battle Day.

Topsy stomps his foot, and scene slightly zooms out to show him standing with Poe and Horace, who are crossing their arms, giving stubborn frowns.

TOPSY (CONT'D)

Just as your foolish stepson used

his scheme to win against us, so

will we devise our own scheme to

get you back.

Topsy, Cera, and the other two herd leaders venture away into their own respective territories.

Littlefoot comes up to Bron and his grandparents, gazing after them with narrowed eyes.

LITTLEFOOT

(still staring in their

direction)

74.

LITTLEFOOT (CONT'D)

Just what sort of scheme do you

think they're going to use?

GRANDPA GILBERT

I don't know, Littlefoot. All I can

say is that… I don't have a good

feeling about this next Battle Day.

BRON

We must all be prepared for

whatever they're planning to throw

our way.

(turns to Littlefoot)

Be sure to train as hard as you

can.

GRANDMA GERTRUDE

(nudges Littlefoot)

And be careful.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - TRAINING FIELDS - VARIOUS

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Tensions were high as the young

dinosaurs continued their training

sessions. Littlefoot trained hard,

not only to save his herd, but also

to get back at Cera for unfairly

accusing him.

INSERT brief Littlefoot training SCENES, looking angry as he jumps around and delivers tail-whips at his training opponents.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

Cera was also fueled by hostility

as she trained.

INSERT brief Cera training scenes, when she's looking furious as she rams into the other Threehorns and into the trees.

Then scene shifts to show her and other juvenile Saurus Warriors, including Binky, Greta, and Maddie, getting their horns sharpened by the Iguanodons as they occupy Iguanodon Territory.

Cera is then seen slicing her sharpened horns against a nearby tree, easily slicing across the trunk and making it topple over.

The scene FADES OUT from the fallen tree, into -

75.

EXT. FLYER TERRITORY - TRAINING AREA - DAY

A fallen tree in Flyer Territory, where the flyers are training.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Petrie, however, was distracted

throughout most of his training

sessions.

Petrie shudders as he hovers in air, looking over to the Valley walls with a sad look in his eyes.

PETRIE

O-oh… Ducky sure would hate to see

Littlefoot and Cera argue like

this… it would even make Spike lose

his appetite…

Petrie then catches a glimpse of some small forms of velociraptors lingering around the front of the Valley wall, hissing and revealing their teeth, tapping their arched toe-claws. They look just like the ones that were seen following the duckbills and spiketails.

PETRIE

Huh? Sh-sharpteeth?

A flyer crashes into Petrie and Petrie lets out a screech as he is pinned against a tree trunk.

Pterano swoops past them.

PTERANO

Petrie, my dear boy! Pay attention!

(he swoops closer as the

flyer releases him from

the tree branch)

Why… this is the fifth time today

you've been knocked out of the sky

too easily.

He lands beside him and presses the back of his hand against his forehead and speaks in a slight, melodramatic tone.

PTERANO (CONT'D)

It's… as if you don't even care to

fight for your herd anymore!

PETRIE

Me sorry, Uncle Pterano! Me just…

me just a bit stressed.

PTERANO

Oh, come now, Petrie. It's not like

our herd has to fight Saurus

Battles to keep our place in the

Valley!

He raises his wings and hovers off.

76.

PTERANO (CONT'D)

Nevertheless, there is no excuse

not to fight like a valiant, noble

warrior. As flyers, we are a

supreme species who remain

undefeated, just like the

Longnecks! Though of course, we are

better than the Longnecks, as we

can soar the skies and have an even

better advantage against our

enemies.

He raises her head higher as he flaps away.

PTERANO (CONT'D)

Let's maintain such a wonderful

reputation and keep our skills

intact!

Petire slowly nods and flies after him.

PETRIE

Yes, uncle…

Petrie turns and tries to fly around another flyer opponent, evading his dashes. Petrie attempts to lunge at him, managing to whack his right wing against his face, sending the flyer tumbling back a bit.

But then the flyer maneuvers around and surprises Petrie with a sideways strike, zooming beneath him and lunging up, ramming against Petrie and making the flyer flap upwards.

Petrie bumps into a trio of flyers fighting each other. Petrie screeches and whimpers as he gets accidentally whacked out of the sky and tumbles down, grunting and groaning as he crashes through some tree branches and lands on the ground.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - DOMEHEAD TERRITORY - DAY

Petrie opens his eyes and gasps as he sees a few Domeheads in the distance. He gasps and rises, flapping his wings.

PETRIE

Oh no… me in Domehead Territory! Me

better get outta here before me is

spotted…

Petrie soars higher, then as he gets a view of what some of the Domeheads are doing, he sees some of them throwing sharply-bladed rocks at each other. He hears Poe shouting over them.

77.

POE

Alright, come on! Everyone must

master this rock-throwing technique

for the next Saurus Battle! Those

Longnecks won't stand a chance

against us when we combine our

brute strength with these weapons!

PETRIE

No… that looks even more dangerous

than Shorty's rockfall technique…

As he soars, he sees some of the Domeheads venturing over to Spiketail Territory, where the Hypsilophodons and Threehorns are training. The Domeheads grab more rocks and sharpen them against some trees with smooth, glossy tree trunks, then run back to their training area.

PETRIE (CONT'D)

Gahhh!

QUICK FLASHBACK of him seeing the Spiketails sharpen their spikes on those glossy trees.

Petrie then breaks out of the flashback and watches as some Domeheads do the same with their own rocks. Then he watches the Threehorns coming over to sharpen their horns against the trees. Finally, the Hypsilophodons come over and yank the glossy branches off the glossy tree trunks. The ends that were yanked off were extremely sharp.

Petrie watches in horror as the Hypsilophodons are tossing the sharp branches at the trees. Many branches were slicing across other trees in their territories, causing the trees to easily slice, and causing boulders to easily slice as well.

Petrie looked over to the Threehorns in the distance, watching as they did the same whenever they rammed their sharpened horns across tree trunks and rocks.

Then Horace came over to Cera and placed a sharpened branch on Cera's horns. Her horns were sharp enough to hold the sharp-edged branch in place. Soon, it appeared as if she had even longer, sharper horns than her father. Horace did the same to Binky, Greta, Maddie, Trisha, and the other juvenile Threehorns.

Petrie widens his eyes as he sees Topsy walk up, and Horace gave him an even longer, sharper branch. Horace and Topsy exchange chuckles.

TOPSY

The Longnecks won't stand a chance

against any of us now.

78.

Petrie flinches.

PETRIE

Me must warn Littlefoot about this

tonight!

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - MEETING SPOT - NIGHT

Petrie lands in the usual meeting spot where he, Littlefoot, and Cera had been meeting.

PETRIE

Oh… no one here yet… hmm…

He looks uneasy as he shifts his eyes around.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Petrie waited and waited. But

neither Littlefoot nor Cera showed

up. Both had decided to stay up

late to train hard, as it was their

last week of training before the

next Saurus Battle Day.

SPLIT SCREEN:

Below Petrie: Petrie at the top, waiting, and Littlefoot and Cera at the bottom of the visual, each of them fighting against various rocks and trees and jumping around, trying to master various battle moves. Cera is wearing her sharpened, glossy branch-horns.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

The young flyer never got a chance

to pass on his warning to

Littlefoot.

Petrie sighs and turns to fly away.

EXT. GREAT VALLEY - FIGHTING PIT - NIGHT

Littlefoot is with the longneck herd, looking determined as they approach the Fighting Pit. He shoots a glance over in Ali's direction, tensing as she snuggles against Rhett's shoulder.

LITTLEFOOT (V.O.)

Don't worry, Ali. This time, I'll

be fighting extra hard, especially

against those Threehorns. You'll

see who's really competent enough

to protect you.

79.

As they enter the Fighting Pit, Littlefoot sees the flyer herd just parting ways with the parasaurolophuses. All of them looking bedraggled from their recent battle.

Petrie then zooms up to Littlefoot, looking frantic.

LITTLEFOOT

Hey, Petrie. Did you guys win your

battle?

PETRIE

Oh, we did… but Littlefoot! You

must listen! I've been trying to

tell you… the Threehorns,

Domeheads, and Hypsilophodons are

going to —

Bron's bellow cuts them off.

BRON

Longnecks, assemble!

LITTLEFOOT

(gasps as he looks in his

father's direction)

Sorry Petrie, I gotta go. Looks

like the Domeheads are here early!

Petrie watches helplessly as Littlefoot hurries off and joins the Longnecks.

Littlefoot catches up to the back of the herd, joining the gathering of other juvenile Saurus Warriors. In front of them are the older Saurus Warriors, and Bron at the front.

Littlefoot's grandparents, along with the other retired Saurus Warriors, are a short distance behind them all, watching with anticipated looks. Shorty is among them, glaring at the ground. He hits a tiny pebble aside with his foot.

Poe is at the front of Domehead herd on the other side of the clearing.

Bron and Poe then let out bellows at the same time, and their herds charge at each other.

Littlefoot is first seen fighting off Domeheads and evading all their strikes.

Ali is seen, dodging the Domeheads, looking scared and frantic as she tries to stay beside Rhett. She is frequently ducking behind him.

80.

Then more Domeheads trickle in, each of them carrying handfuls of bladed rocks. The Domeheads start yowling as they toss them across Longnecks.

Littlefoot widens his eyes.

LITTLEFOOT (CONT'D)

What the… ?!

He ducks as a sharply-bladed rock zooms over his head.

He hears a scream from Ali. He turns to see Rhett has been struck by a rock in his side, and he is groaning.

ALI

Rhett, no!

Littlefoot gasps, hurrying over to whack another incoming rock before it hits Rhett. Rhett is walking around, dizzy. He bumps into a Domehead, who smirks down at him then rams his head against him. Rhett flings over and skids across the clearing to the sidelines.

Rhett remains there, groaning.

Ali screams again as a rock is flung her way; Littlefoot whips his tail against it. But the Domehead catches it again and slices it across Bron, making him groan.

LITTLEFOOT

Dad!

He hurries over to help, but a rock slices across his shoulder.

A flurry of Longnecks panick as a bunch of blurred rocks are shooting all over. Many Longnecks are seen running toward the sidelines.

Soon, Littlefoot himself is covered in wounds and is unable to get up. He looks around and sees many Longnecks are groaning on the ground. Bron looks defeated. He pants, looks up at a smirking Poe, then hangs his head.

The scene shifts to Littlefoot standing beside his grandparents, in another area of the Fighting Pit.

LITTLEFOOT (CONT'D)

I can't believe they beat us, just

by using a bunch of rocks like

that. That should be considered

cheating.

81.

GRANDPA GILBERT

Unfortunately there weren't any

clear rules about using obstacles.

It's why Shorty didn't hesitate to

disobey Bron and use his rockfall

technique.

Littlefoot stares at the Domeheads as they yell victoriously.

LITTLEFOOT

I guess this is what they were

planning to devise against us…

GRANDMA GERTRUDE

The Hypsilophodons and Threehorns

must have something worse in mind…

(nudges Littlefoot)

Please be careful, dear one.

FADE TO:

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - FIGHTING PIT - LATER

The battle against the Hypsilophodons. Sharp-edged branches are being thrown in every direction, and many Longnecks are falling over, some not able to limp over to the sidelines.

Littlefoot falls, then Bron falls beside him. A branch flings over their head -

FADE TO:

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - OPPOSITE END OF FIGHTING PIT - NIGHT

A branch on the horns of Topsy as he faces Bron on the opposite end of the battlefield.

The Longnecks look bedraggled and worn as they face the Threehorns, though many still look shocked as they see the sharpened glossy branches over the horns of the Threehorns.

Littlefoot is panting, and as he glances at Cera, she glares at him, looking furious. She brushes her foot against the ground and lowers her horns at him.

Littlefoot narrows his eyes back at her.

Then Bron and Topsy let out bellows at the same time, and the herds charge at each other.

82.

Littlefoot is locked in battle with a Threehorn and he manages to evade its slicing horns, but keeps missing it each time he tries to hit his tail against him.

Another longneck Saurus Warrior charges into the Threehorn's side, shoving him out of Littlefoot's way. But then Littlefoot sees Cera crouching, letting out fumes from her nostrils as she glares in Shorty's direction.

Shorty is giving her a challenging glare and knocks a rock at her from the sidelines.

But Cera easily makes it explode into pieces as her horns hit against it. Then she yowls.

CERA

Come on down and fight, you loser!

Shorty runs over.

SHORTY

I'll show you who's the loser!

LITTLEFOOT

Shorty, no!

Littlefoot hurries over, then ducks as Shorty whips a rock in his direction.

SHORTY

Back off, Littlefoot! Stop acting

like YOU'RE the hero here!

Shorty turns to Cera and whacks a rock in her direction. Cera ducks, and the rock hits against the wall behind her, causing another small rockfall.

Cera dodges out of the way, while Littlefoot whips the falling rocks at the incoming Threehorns charging at him with their horns.

Bron jumps over and pants.

BRON

Shorty, get out of the arena! I

told you to sit out!

SHORTY

Cera started it!

CERA

No I didn't! He threw a rock at me!

83.

Cera whips a rock in Shorty's direction, which he whips back at her, and she crumbles it with her horns.

Bron ducks and dodges a Threehorn slice.

BRON

Shorty, get back to the sidelines,

or I'm revoking your Saurus Warrior

status!

Shorty gives a snort, then runs back to the sidelines, bumping shoulders with Littlefoot.

LITTLEFOOT

Ow! Hey!

Shorty looks over his shoulder to seethe at Littlefoot, then whacks a rock in Cera's direction. Then he runs away.

The rock hits Cera's shoulder, and Cera whirls around to see only Littlefoot standing there. She looks like she thinks it was Littlefoot who whipped the rock at her.

Cera gives a snort and brushes her foot, lowering her horns at Littlefoot.

Littlefoot meets her gaze and widens his eyes.

LITTLEFOOT (CONT'D)

Cera, wait!

CERA

Rahhh!

Cera charges at him, and Littlefoot jumps aside, but her glossy, branch-covered horns with multiple sharp branchlets slice across his neck.

Littlefoot yowls in pain, then narrows his eyes at Cera. He whips his tail at her but his tail cuts against her horns. Littlefoot's tail bleeds.

Littlefoot lets out a bellow and charges at her.

Petrie, meanwhile, is watching from the sidelines, shivering and closing his eyes.

Littlefoot and Cera are constantly ramming against each other; Littlefoot knocks himself against her and whips his tail, inflicting many bruises on her, while she slices at him and makes more wounds.

84.

Soon, the two of them are facing each other, panting. Their legs wobble, and they charge at each other, and a big dust cloud forms as they crash.

The dust cloud clears, and they are both on the ground. Many other Longnecks are seen around them, fallen and groaning.

The scene zooms closer to Littlefoot as he lies on the ground, his vision blurry. His vision clears, and the blurriness returns when the ground shakes. Littlefoot raises his head.

LITTLEFOOT

Huh?

Bron comes over and helps him up. Bron is covered in gashes.

BRON

Littlefoot, come on! We need to get

out of here! They're already

chasing us!

Littlefoot looks around and sees many Threehorns bellowing in victory over fallen, groaning Longnecks, while the Domeheads and Hypsilophodons are chasing out the others. Some of the bellowing Threehorns stop bellowing and prod the fallen bodies to get up, then they nudge them and chase them out.

Littlefoot sees Hyp coming over to him, waving his sharp branch. Littlefoot gets up and hurries after Bron, and they race through the Fighting Pit and crowding Longnecks, trying to avoid the tossing rocks and sticks.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY WALLS - NIGHT

Soon, they are approaching the Great Valley walls.

Topsy headbutts the boulders and turns to scowl at the incoming Longnecks. Then screeches pierce the sky. Obadiah, the flyer herd leader, swoops down with his herd. Petrie is at Obadiah's side.

OBADIAH

(speaking in old, steady

voice)

Topsy, this has to stop. We're not

letting you drive out another herd

in this Valley.

85.

TOPSY

Hey! A deal was a deal! My herd,

Poe's herd, and Horace's herd all

beat those Longnecks, and now we're

driving out those scoundrels!

Obadiah and Petrie turn to see the Threehorns, Domeheads, and Hypsilophodons chasing the Longnecks. He and Petrie exchange glances. They both give determined looks, then they swoop over and try and knock the Domeheads and Hypsilophodons away, as well as the Threehorns.

TOPSY (CONT'D)

(lets out a bellow)

Obadiah, what do you think you're

doing?!

He watches, aghast as Petrie throws off the majority of the rocks and blades, while evading the Threehorns.

Littlefoot looks up, excited.

LITTLEFOOT

Petrie!

Petrie swoops by him

PETRIE

Me should've convinced Obadiah to

do this when Ducky and Spike were

being driven out! But me not going

to lose another friend this time!

Petrie swoops over and kicks another rock, sending it flying back in the Domeheads' direction.

Each time a Domehead or Hypsilophodon tosses their weapon, the flyers kick at them, sending them back to hit them. The Domeheads and Hypsilophodons run away each time they are hit with their own weapons.

TOPSY

This is outrageous! Threehorns!

He lets out a loud bellow.

The Threehorns immediately start letting out snorts and fumes from their nostrils, and they all fight harder. Soon, they are ramming into the Longnecks again, and blood is being spilled.

Topsy is seen charging into the crowd, knocking down many Longnecks with his powerful, branch-covered horns.

86.

He chases a few Longnecks through the wall opening, into the Mysterious Beyond.

Littlefoot looks over and gasps as he sees Ali racing away with her mother, leaving through the opening as Topsy chases them.

Littlefoot jumps as a flyer falls to the ground in front of him, groaning. Littlefoot gasps and realizes it has a glossy branch in its side. The flyer shakes it off his side and flies away, wailing and screeching.

Littlefoot looks around to see the Threehorns thrusting their heads, sending the branches on their horns flying off and spinning toward the flyers.

The flyers are unable to knock them off. Each time their talons try to kick them, the branch just knocks their talons and makes them spin in the air, so that another Threehorn can toss a spinning branch at them and knock them out of the sky.

The Hypsilophodons were previously shooting them at the flyers, but the Threehorns are spinning them toward the flyers. The flyers have a harder time kicking them off.

Soon, some Threehorns are chasing weakly-flying flyers out through the opening.

The scenes show many Longnecks and flyers racing out of the opening, and Littlefoot is running by Bron's side, disappearing over the hill into the Mysterious Beyond.

EXT. THE MYSTERIOUS BEYOND - NIGHT

The Longnecks and flyers are trekking across the Mysterious Beyond, heading away from the Great Valley.

Littlefoot and Petrie look behind them at the Valley walls, which are in the short distance.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

The Longnecks and flyers were left

to fend for themselves. The

Threehorns, Domeheads, and

Hypsilophodons had chased them deep

into the Mysterious Beyond, as they

had done with the duckbills and

Spiketails.

Threehorns, Domeheads, and Hypsilophodon herds, with Topsy at the front, gazing ahead, watching the Longnecks leave. Then they turn to head back toward the Great Valley, which is a short distance away.

87.

Cera is the last one looking toward the distance where the Longnecks and flyers ventured. She has an unreadable expression on her face. She turns to follow the other Threehorns, staring at the ground.

INT. THE MYSTERIOUS BEYOND - LONGNECK CAVE - NIGHT

Littlefoot stares at the ground with a saddened look, heading over to Bron's side to sleep.

The Longnecks are sleeping in a cave in a cliff in a barren land. The flyers are also with them.

EXT. NIGHT SKY - NIGHT

The moon shifts lower in the sky, and the scene moves back to the cave.

INT. THE MYSTERIOUS BEYOND - LONGNECK CAVE - LATER

Littlefoot is tossing and turning. He then raises his head and sighs. He looks ahead and his expression piques with curiosity. He sees Petrie perched on a rock, shivering as he stares into the cave.

Littlefoot ventures over, stepping around the other sleeping Longnecks. He makes it to Petrie's side.

LITTLEFOOT

Hey Petrie, you couldn't sleep

either?

Petrie is shivering as he stares deeper into the cave, wide-eyed.

PETRIE

N-n-no… me think me saw… sh-

Sharpteeth creeping in the cave…

LITTLEFOOT

Then we should wake up the —

The cave begins to shake. Some of the Longnecks raise their heads, and a few murmurs happen. The shaking stops, then grows more violent. More dinos wake up and voices shout.

DINO VOICES (O.S.)

Earthshake?! Let's get outta here!

The cave is suddenly a flurry of crowded dinos as rocks begin to fall from the walls.

88.

Littlefoot and Petrie turn to race after their herds, but then a huge chunk of rocks from the ceiling crashes on the ground in front of them.

Littlefoot and Petrie are forced to run in the other direction, deeper into the cave as more rocks start to tumble after them.

Bron is seen looking over his shoulder with fright.

BRON

Littlefoot!

PETRIE'S MOM, AVA, flies up to Bron's side, also looking frantic.

AVA

Petrie!

Littlefoot and Petrie run farther into the cave as rocks fall and block their way back, eliminating sight of the other herds.

INT. THE GREAT VALLEY - INNER CAVE - NIGHT

Finally, the shaking slows to a stop, and Littlefoot and Petrie make it to a shadowy spot in the cave, where there is some moonlight trickling through some of the cracks in the ceiling.

Littlefoot looks around, panting. It is silent.

LITTLEFOOT

Let's find a way to climb closer to

those cracks in the ceiling. We

might have an easier time finding

our herds once we all escape from

the cave.

PETRIE

(shudders and looks

around)

O-o-oh… me hope we find the herds

before a Sharptooth does…

They venture forward, and a few brief scenes show them slinking around narrow passages in the cave, and around some walls.

Then a hiss sounds through the cave, echoing.

Littlefoot and Petrie stop in their tracks.

89.

A shadow zooms past them, a short distance ahead of them.

Littlefoot and Petrie jump back and gasp.

Petrie whimpers and hovers closer to Littlefoot, while Littlefoot takes a few steps back, keeping his eyes fixed forward where the shadow had flashed.

It is dead silent.

Then a shadowy, open mouth juts forward from Littlefoot's left, letting out an eerie, rapid screech at his ear. It all happens in a split second.

Littlefoot and Petrie yell in surprise, jumping aside. Littlefoot trips over his feet and falls on his side with Petrie grabbing his neck. They land next to the decapitated head of a small Ichthysaurus — it is covered in blood with eyes wide open.

Littlefoot and Petrie both yell even louder and Littlefoot shoots up to his feet, backing away.

A wild, eerie cackle echoes through the cave, and Littlefoot turns to see a small, lithe figure strut forward into the moonlight, revealing the scrawny figure of a dark-green, elder velociraptor.

Her eyes are wide with her lower eyelids raised in a maniacal smile. She is cackling at them.

ELDER VELOCIRAPTOR

(speaks in a raspy,

excited voice)

My, my… what a delight to have such

precious, petrified little

darlings…

The elder velociraptor leaps forward and circles them.

Littlefoot and Petrie tense up.

Petrie wraps himself around Littlefoot's shoulders, frozen as they both keep their wide eyes on the circling raptor.

ELDER VELOCIRAPTOR (CONT'D) The smell of fear ALWAYS pairs well with blood…

She is keeping her eye on them she rapidly reaches out a foot to gouge the bloodied ichthyosaur head, then rapidly brings her toe-claws to her nose, sniffs, and lets out more wild cackles.

90.

Littlefoot and Petrie turn to rush away, but the velociraptor becomes a dark-green blur. She is suddenly in front of them again, leaning forward at them with her maniacal grin.

Littlefoot jumps back.

LITTLEFOOT

Get away from us!

ELDER VELOCIRAPTOR

(slow, eerie laugh)

Oh come now, dearies. I was only

going to help you both find your

herds… you must all be exhausted

after those mangy Threehorns drove

you out of your precious Valley…

Littlefoot and Petrie flinch.

PETRIE

Gahhhh! H-how do you know that?

LITTLEFOOT

Yeah… and how are you able to speak

to us?

ELDER VELOCIRAPTOR

(throws her head back and

laughs)

Awww, sweet, precious young'uns…

always asking questions.

She leaps down and speaks while circling them again, maintaining a smirk on them.

ELDER VELOCIRAPTOR (CONT'D) My name is Velina. I'm quite famous around these lands, because of my ability to speak to Leafeaters. How did a bloodhungry Sharptooth like me learn to do such a thing?

She licks her teeth and stops circling, fixing them with an intrigued smirk.

ELDER VELOCIRAPTOR (CONT'D)

Let's just say… I know how to

control my flesh-eating impulses…

which means I can think straight

enough to master your precious

language…

91.

Littlefoot keeps a hesitant gaze on her as he slowly spins around. He is keeping his eye on the circling raptor while Petrie hugs against his shoulders.

LITTLEFOOT

Y-you can control your flesh-eating

impulses… ?

VELINA

Oh yes, darling. Why… I've even

gone so far as to stop eating

Leafeaters!

LITTLEFOOT

Really?

VELINA

You bet… Instead…

She shifts her smirking gaze to the beheaded ichthyosaur.

VELINA (CONT'D)

I've grown fond of devouring THESE

things.

Velina lets out a quick hiss and slashes her hand at the Ichthyosaur's left eye.

Scene shifts to show Littlefoot and Petrie cringe, and then shifts back to Velina, who stares at her bloody claws, laughing with her maniacal smile. She brings her claws to her mouth and licks them, her laugh loudening.

Littlefoot and Petrie both exchange disturbed glances.

Littlefoot turns to the raptor.

LITTLEFOOT

So Velina… how'd you know our herds

were driven out of the Great

Valley? Have you been following us?

Velina shifts her maniacal grin to Littlefoot and snickers.

VELINA

Mmm… I've always loved stalking

Leafeaters, especially… flyers…

(shifts her gaze on

Petrie, who cowers back)

…and Longnecks…

Velina inches her face closer to Littlefoot, while keeping her eyes on Petrie.

92.

She slowly shifts her eyes to meet Littlefoot's nervous gaze. She chortles and leans back to continue staring at her wriggling, bloody claws with her crazed smile.

VELINA (CONT'D)

But no, dearie. I simply assumed

you were banished by those

Threehorns, Domeheads, and

Hypsilophodons. My pack and I

already met your precious duckbill

and Spiketail friends out here…

they told us that's what happened

to them.

Littlefoot and Petrie widen their eyes.

LITTLEFOOT

You've met the duckbills and

Spiketails?! Where are they? Are

they safe?

VELINA

(shifts her crazed smile

on them)

Absolutely, darling. My pack and I

took great care of them. We've

given them a nice, cozy home, full

of plenty of your precious… green

food. You dearies wanna join 'em?

Velina circles them again.

VELINA (CONT'D)

After I help you darlings find your

way back to your herds, I'd be

delighted to take all of you there…

Littlefoot watches as she licks her bloodied teeth as she circles them with her smirk. He gives an apprehensive gaze.

LITTLEFOOT

Um… thanks, Velina. We appreciate

the offer. But…

(walks around the

velociraptor)

I think Petrie and I can find our

herds on our own —

The ceiling collapses -

93.

EXT. OUTSIDE LANDS - NIGHT

revealing the outside lands. The longneck and flyer herds are seen fighting a T. Rex and two deinonychuses.

LITTLEFOOT

Oh no! Red Claw!

PETRIE

And Thud and Screech!

The three Sharpteeth were battling Bron and a few other Longnecks, while the flyers were soaring around them. But Red Claw threw off every longneck and flyer. Both herds seemed to be fighting to no avail.

Thud turns over and screeches as he notices Littlefoot and Petrie there. Thud dashes at them.

GRANDMA GERTRUDE

Littlefoot!

PTERANO

Petrie!

Littlefoot and Petrie yowl and split, Littlefoot running to the right while Petrie dashes to the left, avoiding Thud as he crashes in their spot.

Some Longnecks and flyers hurry over to them to fight off the Sharptooth, but then Red Claw jumps in front of them, shifting his eyes on Littlefoot, then Petrie, and Longnecks before him.

As he is about to lunge at them, a dark-green blur flashes across Littlefoot's face, and Littlefoot turns to see Velina cackling as she scurries between the legs of Red Claw. Then Velina becomes a blur again, swirling around the Red Claw's large body.

Red Claw lets out agonized bellows as gashes suddenly appear over random parts of his body.

Then the dark-green swirl vanishes. Velina skids aside, gazing at the T. Rex with her eyes wild with exhilaration. Her claws and teeth are dripping with blood from all the gashes she inflicted over Red Claw's body.

Red Claw, now covered in tons of bleeding slash-marks and gashes, turns and runs away, disappearing behind a cliff. Thud and Screech turn shocked gazes at Velina. Velina shifts her crazed smile at them and lets out a smooth, tantalizing hiss.

94.

Thud and Screech let out quick shrieks and dash away, heading after Red Claw.

Littlefoot and Petrie are panting as they come back together with the Longnecks and flyers. All the dinos look surprised.

They all shift their surprised gazes back at Velina, who is looking over her shoulder at the Leafeaters. She gives a strange, drawling laugh.

VELINA

Oh my… if I hadn't made the

commitment to a dino-free diet, I

would've had such a delectable

feast.

She leans forward, her lower eyelids raising into a maniacal smile.

VELINA (CONT'D)

All that blood and fear reeking

from you precious darlings…

(licks bloody teeth)

exquisite

The Leafeaters look apprehensively among one another. Then Littlefoot's grandparents bend down and nudge him, looking thankful that he is safe.

FADE TO:

EXT. STABLE TERRITORY - NIGHT

The dinos face Velina in a more stable-looking territory.

BRON

Thank you for saving us, Velina.

What an… impressive show… a dino of

your size taking down a Sharptooth

as big as Red Claw.

VELINA

(shifts a smirking gaze to

Bron)

Please, don't bother with your

words of affirmation. You're only

gonna make yourself look tastier to

me.

95.

OBADIAH

Velina, I must say… it's quite

impressive that you've gone through

the majority of your life, keeping

your flesh-eating impulses under

control, living off bugs and

waterborne creatures. If only all

Sharpteeth made the same choice…

Velina sniggers and gazes up at the sky, giving a slight tilt of her head. Her crazed smile remains while there's a dazed look in her eyes.

VELINA

Choice… do we really have it? Or

are some of us just destined to

make the decisions we make?

GRANDPA GILBERT

Well, you clearly made your choice

when you chose to rescue us.

BRON

Now… where's this hotspot you

promised you'd take us to? You said

the duckbills and Spiketails are

also there?

Velina stares up at the moon with her dazed, crazed smile without seeming to notice she had been spoken to. Her arched toe-claw taps a few times.

Bron blinks at her.

BRON (CONT'D)

Velina?

Velina blinks, then she slowly shifts her gaze to the dinos.

She gives a snigger.

VELINA

Of course… come follow me…

EXT. VOLCANIC PIT - MORNING

She walks forward, the scene shifts to when it is morning with a red-orange sky.

Velina is leading them to a giant pit in the middle of a land full of bare trees. In the pit, there are luscious trees and patches of bushes and green food.

96.

The dinos see that there are about three dozen velociraptors lingering on the outskirts of the pit, hissing and snarling, some of them fighting each other.

Littlefoot gasps, but Velina gives a drawling laugh.

VELINA

Don't worry, darling. The

velociraptors in my pack are just

guarding your precious friends from

other Sharpteeth… they will

certainly need it.

As the dinos venture closer to the pit, the raptors all turn and hiss at them, looking ready to pounce.

But Velina lashes her tail and lets out an earsplitting screech, the other raptors cower back, their hisses becoming quieter.

Velina turns to the Longnecks and flyers, lashes her tail again, and they all venture into the pit. Velina fixes her eyes on each of the Longnecks and flyers that trickle into the pit one by one, her maniacal grin intensifying.

Littlefoot and Petrie then widen their eyes as they see the duckbills and Spiketails eating the green food in the land, and lapping up small bodies of water. As they get to the bottom of the slopes around the pit, Littlefoot hears a familiar call.

DUCKY (O.S.)

Littlefoot! Petrie!

Littlefoot and Petrie turn to see Ducky and Spike racing up to them.

Littlefoot and Petrie beam and run toward them, and they all run around each other, laughing.

Ducky hugs both Littlefoot and Petrie.

DUCKY (CONT'D)

Oh, I thought I'd never see you two

again!

LITTLEFOOT

(nervous laugh)

Hehe… well, I guess it was just a

matter of time before the

Threehorns, Hypsilophodons, and

Domeheads found some way to defeat

us…

97.

PETRIE

Oh… me tried to get the other

flyers to help the Longnecks… but

the Threehorns were too strong…

DUCKY

Well… at least all of us are

together again! Yep, yep, yep!

(smile falters)

Almost all of us…

The four dinos all begin to look saddened.

DUCKY (CONT'D)

Do you think we'll ever see Cera

again?

Littlefoot sighs and hangs head.

LITTLEFOOT

I hope so…

Spike sighs while halfheartedly pushing his foot around some fronds. He eats them, chewing slowly while keeping his saddened look.

LITTLEFOOT (CONT'D)

So the food down here is good?

Spike raises eyebrows and nods.

DUCKY

Oh, yes, yes, yes! And the water is

nice and warm. I… I think we can

get used to living down here.

Especially now that we're all

together again!

Littlefoot looks around in wonder at the land around them.

LITTLEFOOT

Wow… we really owe Velina one.

Littlefoot turns to see the elder raptor scurrying up the ledges of the slope to meet with her raptor pack at the top.

DUCKY

Yes, we must thank her! I caught

some of her favorite fish from the

pond!

(hurries over to three

fish she had laid by a

stream)

98.

DUCKY (CONT'D)

I was saving these for when she

came back!

Ducky begins walking over.

EXT. VOLCANIC SLOPE - DAY

Littlefoot and the others are climbing up the slope. They get to the top then they hear eerie laughing. They pause and hide behind a lump of ground.

Littlefoot freezes. Up ahead, he sees Velina and her raptor pack standing in front of eight Sharpteeth of various species. Red Claw, Thud, and Screech are among them.

VELINA

Red Claw, darling, we put on a

great show. Those Leafeaters are so

gullible!

Red Claw is facing down at Velina with his ferocious scowl, though a hint of a smile cracks on the Sharptooth's face. He replies to her with a series of growls and gutturals.

VELINA (CONT'D)

(laughs)

Why, of course we can still take

down those Threehorns and the other

two tasty herds. They were on their

way back to that precious Valley…

but I made sure I sent some

Carnotaurs and my most elite pack

members to chase them. Soon, they

will lure all three of their herds

over here.

As she shifts her head in the direction, she hears a distant roar, followed by some faint bellows. The Sharpteeth around Velina, including her raptors, all turn to face the sound with hungry looks.

VELINA (CONT'D)

(sniggers)

Here they come…

Thud looks at Velina and lets out a series of growls and gutturals.

VELINA (CONT'D)

Yes… the underground volcanoes

beneath the pit… they will erupt

anytime now.

99.

VELINA (CONT'D)

(she turns to gaze at the

pit behind her with a

wild thrill in her eyes)

By the time we are finished

slaughtering those Threehorns,

Domeheads, and Hypsilophodons,

we'll have a pit of roasted

Longnecks, flyers, duckbills, and

Spiketails! We'll have enough

savory flesh to last us for a

gazillion seasons! AHAHAHA!

She throws her head back and cackles.

Ducky drops her bundle of fish, wide-eyed.

Littlefoot, Ducky, Petrie, Spike are exchanging horrified glances as they keep hidden behind the mound of dirt.

Velina then stops her cackling and turns to face the other direction.

The Threehorns, Domeheads, Hypsilophodons are racing over, with four Carnotaurs and a few velociraptors from Velina's pack chasing them.

VELINA (CONT'D)

Good thing the precious herds were

already weak from battling our

longneck and flyer guests.

(crouches)

They're gonna make this

slaughtering spree too easy.

Velina dashes toward the crowd, letting out a thrilled screech. The other Sharpteeth roar and race after her.

As they engage in battle with the other three herds, Littlefoot raises his head, his eyes wide.

LITTLEFOOT

No wonder she wanted to lead us all

to this pit. It's an eruption site

for underground volcanoes!

PETRIE

O-o-oh, we should have never

trusted her!

Ducky shakes her head, widening her eyes as she watches the fight scene in the distance.

100.

DUCKY

Wh-what do we do now?! Those

Threehorns, Domeheads, and

Hypsilophodons need help, but so do

our own herds!

DUCKY DUCKY

Velina said those underground

volcanoes will erupt any —

The place shakes. Cracks form from various parts of the pit, releasing steam. Many of the dinos in the pit stop eating, drinking, and socializing. They gaze around in horror.

LITTLEFOOT

Everyone, get out of there! Velina

led us all into a trap! There are

underground volcanoes beneath us!

The dinos start panicking, then, as a burst of lava explodes from the center, the dinos all bellow and race up the slopes toward Littlefoot and the others. But then the slopes crumble and leak with lava.

The ground shakes some more. Ducky screams, losing her balance and tumbling back into the pit.

LITTLEFOOT (CONT'D)

Ducky!

Littlefoot charges after her, but then falls as the ground splits below him. He falls onto a lower ledge. There is lava flowing beneath him.

Littlefoot looks up to see Petrie swoop in and try to knock away all the falling rocks around them, while also trying to avoid getting splashed by the lava.

Littlefoot tries to climb out, but then is knocked back down as a Hypsilophodon rolls over into the crack with him. Littlefoot and the Hypsilophodon roll down a ledge, crashing into a duckbill that tries to climb out of the pit.

The scene shifts to show that the Sharpteeth have lured the Threehorns, Domeheads, and Hypsilophodons toward the pit.

Some Threehorns, Domeheads, and Hypsilophodons are tumbling down the crackling, lava-ridden slopes, crashing into Longnecks, duckbills, or Spiketails.

The flyers are trying to fly away, but they each get attacked by Velina and her raptors. The velociraptors hurl all sorts of rocks and leap off of the bigger Sharpteeth to catch them in the sky.

101.

Littlefoot tries to run his way through a flurry of dinos, then tries to climb his way up the slope.

As he makes it up the slope, he sees Shorty at the center of Red Claw and two Carnotaurs. Shorty cringes as they close in on him.

Littlefoot narrows his eyes and whips his tail at a rock, which hits a scorched rock. The scorched rock explodes into crumbled pieces that hit against the backs of the three Sharpteeth.

They all stop and throw their heads back, bellowing in pain.

Shorty gasps and races away from them, flashing a surprised glance at Littlefoot.

Shorty maneuvers away as the ground splits and releases more steam.

Littlefoot races around, trying to dodge all the Sharpteeth and the shaking. After evading a couple Sharpteeth, he looks over his shoulder to see Cera ramming her horns against a Sharptooth, but it bucks her back and she screams, falling over the edge into the pit. She bumps into Ducky as Ducky is about to climb out again.

LITTLEFOOT (CONT'D)

Cera! Ducky!

Littlefoot charges after them. He hurries all the way down in the pit. Ducky is helping Cera get up, and Ducky kicks off the scorched rock that landed on Cera's legs and scorched her legs.

Littlefoot hurries over to Cera's other side and he and Ducky both help Cera get up. Then as Ducky helps Cera climb up the slope on her limping feet, Littlefoot stands in front of them, whacking his tail at all the falling boulders to clear the way. Petrie swoops in to flap his wings, clearing the smoke for them.

As they make it over the edge, Spike fights off all the Sharpteeth, using his spiky tail, so that the other four can take a moment to rest beside the edge, behind Spike.

CERA

(pants as she looks at the

others)

Y-you all saved me…

LITTLEFOOT

Of course, we did. We're your

friends.

102.

Cera is looking bewildered as she gazes at Littlefoot. Then she turns to the Longnecks, who are fighting off the Sharpteeth. Cera charges over to help them.

Littlefoot and his friends split to help the other herds fight off the Sharpteeth.

Topsy tumbles down the pit, but then Littlefoot, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike knock over a boulder. The boulder falls on a ledge, blocking Topsy from falling further into the pit. Topsy looks up, surprised as he notices Littlefoot, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike standing there.

Grandpa Gilbert and Grandma Gertrude are climbing out of the slope. They stop beside Topsy and help him get up.

GRANDPA GILBERT

Come on, my friend. Get up.

Topsy shoots him a surprised look as he struggles to his feet and climbs out. As he gazes around, he sees the five friends, including Cera, helping the other dinos fight off the Sharpteeth.

GRANDPA GILBERT (CONT'D)

Let's work together… it's the best

way we can all escape.

Topsy nods, then his surprised face turns into a determined frown as he charges toward a Sharptooth fighting Bron.

Soon, the scene is filled with dinos helping different species, chasing off various Sharpteeth.

Finally, the only Sharpteeth left are Velina, her raptors, Red Claw, Thud, and Screech.

The shaking grows even more violent.

BRON

Everyone! We must flee! Right now!

HAMMOND

Is everyone out of the pit?

Obadiah swoops over.

OBADIAH

Everyone is out of the pit! And Red

Claw, Thud, Screech, Velina, and

her raptors are the only Sharpteeth

left!

103.

Littlefoot looks around, seeing Velina and her raptors all moving ever so rapidly, while Red Claw and the other two are roaring and using brute force against the dinos.

As the shaking grows more violent, Topsy bellows.

TOPSY

Let's get outta here!

Bron, Obadiah, Hammond, and Horance all help other dinos get up and move along, while Noland, Topsy, and Poe fight off the Sharpteeth.

Soon, the lands are falling apart, but the Leafeaters are fleeing.

An explosion occurs in the pit, and lava is filling from its center. The lava spills over the top, spilling after the Leafeaters and Sharpteeth.

The Threehorns, Spiketails, and Domeheads run in one direction after the Longnecks, flyers, Hypsilophodons, and duckbills.

Red Claw, Thud and Screech flee to the opposite direction from the Leafeaters, Velina and her herd race after them.

Velina lands on a jutting rock. She looks over her shoulder, smirking at the Leafeaters as they grow distant.

She gives a slight tilt of her head as she watches them for a second, then she dashes after her raptors. They all disappear behind a cliff.

FADE TO:

EXT. ROUTE TO VALLEY - LATER

The seven herds trekking back to the Valley, all exhausted.

Shorty walks up to Littlefoot.

SHORTY

Hey… thanks for saving me. I'm… I'm

sorry… I was such a jerk to you…

LITTLEFOOT

Don't worry about it, Shorty. I'm

always here for you.

Shorty lifts his head to face Littlefoot, and returns his small smile.

104.

EXT. VALLEY WALLS - DAY

Soon, the herds approach the Valley walls. Obadiah flies over the walls to the other side and removes the boulder, allowing the dinos to trickle in.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

The herds returned, having both

experienced and realized the value

of working together rather than

against each other. As a result,

many began sharing their

territories' resources to help heal

the other herds.

EXT. THE GREAT VALLEY - VARIOUS TERRITORIES - DAY

Scenes of duckbills sheltering in Threehorn Territory as a few Threehorns deliver some fronds to tend to the duckbills' wounds.

Flyers are seen delivering clusters of leaves to Domeheads to tend to their wounds. Longnecks are bringing flowers to tend to the Hypsilophodons.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Over the next course of days,

everyone slowly recovered. Then the

herd leaders all decided to meet at

the Fighting Pit.

TOPSY

(looking at the ground

with a solemn look)

It was wrong of me to have

advocated for the Saurus Battle

Days. And it was even worse that I

used the Battle Days to drive out

other herds.

His gaze becomes somber and he turns to Bron, Obadiah, Hammond, and Noland.

TOPSY (CONT'D)

I hope you all forgive me.

Poe and Horace are nodding.

POE

Me too.

HORACE

Please forgive me too.

105.

Bron and the three other herd leaders are slowly nodding.

BRON

We hold nothing against you.

He shifts his gaze over the other herd leaders.

BRON (CONT'D)

However, there is much to discuss,

regarding the future of Saurus

Battle Days… and the redistribution

of our herds and territories.

The scene zooms out, showing Littlefoot, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike watching from a distance. Cera walks up to them.

The other four turn and begin to smile as they see her.

Cera looks exhausted, but she gives a relieved smile as she joins Littlefoot's side.

Littlefoot and Cera exchange smiles.

Littlefoot turns and catches a glimpse of Ali passing by in the distance. He looks over and notices her coming up to Rhett. Rhett is looking proud.

ALI

That was the scariest time of my

life… ugh, there were so many

Sharpteeth… and all that lava…

She shudders.

RHETT

Hey, I fought off fifty Sharpteeth

and I didn't get a single burn on

me. You'll be safe as long as you

stick around me.

ALI

You're so awesome, Rhett…

As they venture away, Littlefoot is frowning. He rolls his eyes and shakes his head.

LITTLEFOOT (V.O.)

Fifty Sharpteeth? Rhett's

ridiculous to make up such a lie.

Ali's even more ridiculous to

believe it.

Littlefoot shifts his attention to see the herd leaders coming up.

106.

They all look content.

BRON

(looks at the five

friends)

We've all agreed to terminate the

Saurus Battle Days. Instead of

fighting for green food in other

territories, we'll trade for them.

The five friends all beam.

LITTLEFOOT

Does that mean we can also visit

each other's territories whenever

we want to?

TOPSY

Yes, but if you want to eat any

food, make sure you have the herd

leader's agreement about what to

exchange from your own territory.

The five friends all begin cheering. Topsy flashes a smile to Cera, who then notices him looking her way. Her smile falters for a bit, but then returns as she notices he is smiling.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

From that point on, the Great

Valley became a place of peace

among the dinosaurs. Each section

of the Fighting Pit was added to

the nearest territories that

surrounded it.

INSERT SCENE of different portions of the Fighting Pit growing with different styles of green food for the territories that each acquired a portion.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

Herds would trade resources with

one another, and were permitted to

mingle with one another at any

given time.

INSERT SCENE of dinos of different species crossing the borders into other territories to join other dino species.

NARRATOR (V.O.) (CONT'D)

And Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky,

Petrie, and Spike embraced the many

adventures they had with one

another.

107.

INSERT SCENES of the five of them playing around, chasing each other in Flyer Territory.

They are playing with Petrie's siblings under the watchful eyes of Ava, Pterano, and Obadiah who are all seen smiling at them.

The five of them are standing in Spiketail Territory, eating food. Anya bounds over and tosses berries at Spike, and he catches them in his mouth.

The five of them are playing in the water in Duckbill Territory. Ducky is holding hands with Calvert and chatting with the girly duckbills.

Littlefoot, Petrie, and Cera look like they join their convo and are laughing with them.

Then the five of them are in Threehorn Territory, laughing and wrestling with each other. Binky passes them by, smirking coolly. Cera looks over to him.

Binky fixes his smirk on her, slowly shaking his head. Cera narrows her eyes, then smirks back and sticks her tongue at him, before running after the other five.

The five of them are in Longneck Territory, tossing rocks with one another with Shorty. Shorty and Littlefoot stop and laugh, and then Shorty turns to see Bron come over.

Bron looks down at Shorty with a warm smile, then Shorty and Littlefoot nod to each other (still looking genuinely friendly). Shorty and Bron turn to walk away side-by-side.

Littlefoot then runs after Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike. The five of them are laughing as they run together and disappear over a hill.

FADE OUT.
