Self Love A short story about Tadano-kun and Tadano-kun-chan

(This story occurs after Tadano and Komi started dating)

It's winter. Tadano is coming home from the store, snow pouring down, wind blowing his short, soft hair.

"It snowed a lot while I was inside, hopefully I can get back home in time for dinner." Tadano said, walking along the snow.

Tadano kept walking, snow getting crushed by his boots. He starts running, groceries in hand, as the snow picks up fast.

"Im almost home, just a little bit mo-"

He suddenly tripped on a rock. His body lying unconscious on the ground. Snow starts piling up on his back. A few minutes go by and he starts waking up.

'Where am I?' He thought, 'Did I fall on something?'
As he ponders, he hears a person coming up to him.

"Hey! Are you okay?" Asks a mysterious voice, coming closer.

Tadano starts waking up, his eyes slowly opening. He looks up to see what looks like a girl with long pink hair.

"You were out for a while, I had to make sure you were alive."

"D-do I know you?" Tadano asked, wiping off the snow.

"Of course you do, silly. It's me! You!"
Tadano starts to get a better look, it is in fact him, with long pink hair and a complementary maid dress.

"Is this one of your pranks Najimi?" Tadano asks with an annoyed look on his face.

"You don't believe me?" Asks his feminine counterpart.

"How would I believe you? I'm me, not you."

"I am you, my name is Tadano-kun-chan." They say, smiling.

"Well then, me," said Tadano, still in denial, "I was planning on going home, but since, "you're me", why don't we go together?"

"Sounds like a plan!" Said Tadano-kun-chan, cheerfully.

The two start walking together, the snowfall starts dying down.

"I have some questions," says Tadano, skeptical,"Why don't we go to the park to talk a little?"

Tadano-kun-chan agrees and they enter the park. Tadano sits down on a bench, motioning Tadano-kun-chan to sit next to him.

"If you're me," said Tadano, "How come we're separate?"

"To be honest, I don't know," said Tadano-kun-chan, "All I know is that it happened after you fell."

"Okay, if you're me, tell me something only I would know." Tadano says.

"After we got rejected in middle school, it embarrassed us so bad we had to get counseling. Not even Najimi knows."

As the conversation is going on, they two hear someone approaching. A Komi devotee starts to draw near.

"TADANO! YOU WILL PAY FOR TAKING OUR GODDESS, KOMI-SAMA, FROM US!"

The devotee sprints towards Tadano, attempting to capture him.

"Ahhhh!" Tadano shouts, caught off guard by the attacker and starts running out of the park. A few minutes went by and Tadano was able to loop around back to the park where Tadano-kun-chan was waiting for him.

"What took so long?" Asks Tadano-kun-chan, pointing and laughing.

"Why didn't you run as well?"Asked Tadano, "How come they didn't acknowledge you as well?" He asked

"One, I'm you. Only you can see me,"answered Tadano-kun-chan, "And two, if they could see me, they wouldn't think I was you, just some other person hanging out."

"Hey other me," Tadano said, sitting back on the bench, a little worn out, "I don't know how long I can keep this up."

"What do you mean?" Asked Tadano-kun-chan, somewhat surprised by the sudden mood change.

"We love Komi-san, right? And we've seen her crazy followers always trying to harm or even kill me, and I just don't know if I can be safe with her with all of these people trying to get at me. Think about it, I got kidnapped just because I got along with her, now that we're dating, I don't know how much things are going to get worse from here."

Tadano-kun-chan puts their arm on his shoulder. "Listen, me. I get that these situations aren't the best for us but hey, we've grown, we're better now and we have friends who are willing to help us. Sure these obsessors hate you even more now but look at everyone who's willing to protect you for the sake of your and Komi-san's happiness."

"Thanks, me, I needed that." Replied Tadano, feeling comforted.

"No problem, me." Tadano-kun-chan replies. "Well then, I guess it's time for me to go." They say. "Wait, if you're me, how are you going t-" Tadano-kun-chan grabs Tadano and gives him a warm hug. Tadano embraces his counterpart as he closes his eyes. When he looked up, the person he had just talked to: vanished. As he looks around, he notices Komi walking home. He rushes up to her.

"Ah, Komi-san! I didn't see you there!" Tadano exclaimed, "Would you like to go home together?"

Komi nods as they go together holding hands.

Tadano gained some self confidence that day.
