What Could Be The Harm?

I've not written anything for quite a while because I've got two long fics in the work and they're taking ages to plan out, but I felt like writing this so I did.

"That went much better then I expected it to," Rory says as they walk out of Starbucks.

"Yeah, I was for some reason expecting Percy to be a creep," Donna says and Clara nods, "We had no real reason to but when Annabeth showed us a picture of him and he had all those scars and that tattoo, we kinda jumped to conclusions," she says.

"Annabeth has loads of scars and she's awesome, so we really shouldn't have judged him for that," Rory says. Mels nods slightly before saying "True but it never hurts to…" Amy interrupts with a smirk saying "Quickly google him…" Mels cuts in "Just to check," and then they say in synchrony "What would be the harm?"

Rory is about to protest when Donna shoots him a look, they all know that there was no point arguing when both Amy and Mels had decided on something. Donna, Clara, and Rory sigh in synchrony, but really Amy and Mels were right, what was the harm?

Mels pulls out her phone and quickly types in 'Percy Jackson' she'd probably have to be more specific but it was always best to start with the most simple thing and work your way up. To her (and Amy who is peering over Mels shoulder so she can see the screen) surprise there are masses of results, loads of articles all from about 5 years ago, Mels clicks on the first result expecting it to be about some other Percy Jackson, it wasn't. Mels and Amy read in rapt horror, "Guys," Amy says, "You need to see this," they come over and read; what has Annabeth gotten herself into?

It was the next day, at school, and Amy, Clara, Donna, Mels, and Rory where waiting anxiously for Annabeth to arrive. "How are supposed to tell her?" Rory fretted," Donna crosses her arms and snaps "I don't know about you Sunshine, but I tell my friends that their boyfriends are criminals all the time!" Rory glares at her and Clara says "Donna I know your stressed, we all are, but it's not Rory's fault, don't snap at him," Donna stuck out her tongue at her and Amy speaks up saying "I'm not stressed and you shouldn't be either," and they all shot her a look, Amy was sounding very Scottish, and that only happens when she was really, really, stressed (Amy grew up in Scotland, but when she was 7 her parents disappeared and she had to live with her awful aunt in New York, after ten years living in the States her accent had nearly disappeared, except for when something was wrong).

"I blame you for this," Clara says to Mels who raises her eyebrows and says "So you think it would be better if Annabeth didn't known that her boyfriend is a criminal?" Clara wrinkled her nose at Mels but was forced to concede her point (things had been a bit awkward between Clara and Mels because they where both perusing a boy named Matt) and that's when Annabeth walks it.

"Hey guys," she says and is met with a chorus of awkward heys. "Um, Annabeth," Rory says swallowing "So um…" Donna buts in, saying "We found this article on Percy and we think you should see it," Mels hands Annabeth the phone and Rory shoots Donna a thankful glance.

Annabeth skims the article and then starts laughing. Amy, Clara, Donna, Mels, and Rory stare at each other, they hadn't known quite how Annabeth would react but they certainly hadn't expected her to find it funny!

"You were all really fretting about telling me about this, weren't you?" Annabeth says and they all nodded, "Relax I already knew,"

"What?" Rory says, "And you still dated him?" Annabeth smirks and continues, "Percy's completely innocent, he was actually kidnapped by this biker bloke," Amy raises an eyebrow and says "Sure he was," a look of intense irritation flits across Annabeth's face but she pushes it down and says coldly "I know because I was there,"

"What!" Clara and Rory say in synchrony, "That must have been incredibly traumatic!" Donna says, clearly concerned.

"Don't worry," Annabeth says, her voice soft, all trace of of annoyance gone, "I've been through so much worse,"

I'm honestly thrilled with this, and really enjoyed writing it! If you know what show I've plucked Annabeth's friends from comment and tell me.
