A Hero's Life Reboot EP 23: Curse of the Deep

I don't own anything except my OCs. Ripjaws' appearance and voice actor are from Omniverse but with different clothing.

In the middle of the night at beautiful Monta Carlo, 2 lone divers were swimming deeper and deeper into the dark ocean until they came across a wrecked ship, peaking their curiosity as they went to explore it. As they swam around it, they discovered, much to their luck and glee, a treasure chest full of gold coins. As one used a sack to fill their loot, another felt something swim past them with a growl, making the man look around as he swore that he felt something was watching them. As the man recovered and helped his partner fill the bag, they noticed a large shadow covering them. They glanced back to a huge creature behind them, roaring right at them as they screamed in terror!

Intro:

The screen is black, only for a bolt of green lightning to make a flash of white light as upbeat music is heard.

Ben stands as he is smirking at the camera as a black with green bubbles background is behind the tween, making the boy raise both his arms and show off his new Omnitrix and then slap down with a grin, making a flash of light.

"BEN 10!"

"He's a kid and he wants to have fun!"

Upgrade with hands on hips appears as a close-up of his face shows up in the background as a bolt of lightning comes down.

Big Chill flies across and freezes as the same thing happens to Swampfire, leaping out of an explosion.

"But when you need a superhero, he gets the job done!"

"BEN 10!"

Shock Rock smashes his fists together, sending out waves of electricity that affect the 4th wall.

"With A device that he wears on his arm."

"He can change his shape and save the world from harm!"

Ben poses with his Omnitrix, just as headshots of Shock Rock, Water Hazard, Big Chill, and Crashhopper show up, one-by-one.

Rath was staring at Grey Matter, who hopped along a bunch of platforms with the watch symbol on it. The tiger alien was confused before it turned into rage as he held his head in anger.

"When trouble's taking place."

Ben was then running towards the screen.

"He gets right in its face!"

"BEN 10!"

Humungousaur, Slapback, Fasttrack and Gravattack's headshots show up as well!

A green circuit board background is shown as 5 aliens show up in a row. Ben was staring at the 4th wall as his right side was shown. The aliens are Shock Rock, Fasttrack, Rath, Swampfire, Gravattack, and 4 Slapbacks.

"When lives are on the line."

The same thing happens with his left side as more aliens appear. The aliens are now: Big Chill, Water Hazard, Grey Matter, Humungousaur, Crashhopper, and Upgrade.

"It's hero time!"

"BEN 10!"

It ends with Ben and Alex, standing side to side with crossed arms and smirks as well as Normie and Madison on Ben's side and Sam and Clover on Alex's side the title appears above.

At Beverly Hills JR. High, Benn, and Normie were walking down the hall as they talked. "Man! That Math test was hard! I thought my brain was going to blow up from all those questions." "You think you have it bad? I had a chemistry pop quiz, last period. CHEMSITRY! The one subject I completely suck at! It's like no matter what dimension I'm in, school is always bad." Ben points out with a frown "Well, it's not as bad as Summer School…" Both boys shiver at the thought as they get a cringing look. "We seriously need a break from all this." Normie groans as he gestures to the school

Ben's phone goes off as he answers it. "Hello?" "Hey, Ben! It's Maddie. I just got a call from those Forever Knights guys, saying they have a new mission for us." "Got it! Thanks, Mads!" Ben hung up as both boys heard a noise and checked to see it coming from Ben's Locker, making him open it to see a portal. "Dude, are you sure we can trust these Knights, after what you told us about your version?" "No! I don't trust them enough to throw them as far as Humungousaur! But until I get proof that they are up to something, I might as well go with the flow on these tin cans." Ben replies as they both enter and shut the locker door.

The 2 meet up with Maddie, who is already there as Sir George greets them in his throne room. "Greetings, Tennyson and friends. There have been reports of a missing diver that disappeared from the Harbor of Monta Carlo." "A missing person? Doesn't that sound like the Police's job?" "Not quite… The missing diver has seen an unknown force of a strange kind, possibly supernatural, before vanishing. Another diver got away and is the witness. We want you 3 to investigate and find out what caused the diver to disappear." The man answered the girl.

Normie spoke out. "I'm just going to say this from the start: A giant, one-eyed squid monster with a taste of human flesh has risen from the murky depths to eat! Just like in my favorite movie: 'Beast beneath the sea'!" The blonde made a creepy expression as Ben crossed his arms and responded. "Or… It could be a Kraken who is missing some eggs. That's what happened the last time I was involved with something like this." "Either way, boys. We won't know until we check it out." The girl spoke out as George spoke out. "Correct, young maiden. My knights have already loaded your copter with the scuba gear you will need. Good luck, young squares!" Sir George spoke he pushed on his armrest and sent the kids out through another portal. "WHOOOOAAAA!" George chuckles to himself. "I'll admit: That never gets old."

The Omni-Copter landed on the outskirts of Monta Carlo as the kids took the Buggy into town. The trio walked around and were impressed by the sights. "Cool! You know what I love about being a spy and paranormal-hunting Superhero, guys? Getting to explore the world! And after being in space a few times, I think I got a whole new respect for travel." Ben grins out as the other 2 gazes around, exploring all over as the green-eyed kid exclaims. "This can be an awesome Spring Break spot!"

"I know! I got to talk to Daddy about hanging out here." Maddie smiles as Ben smiles at his friends. After spotting Normie gawking at the swimsuit-clad women around the area and Maddie dragging him away with an annoyed look, the purple-haired girl then realizes something as she sighs. "Of course… If the older spies and adults were here, they would say work first then play." "Got it! So… Who do we talk to?" Normie, after getting slapped in the head by Maddie, fished out the card one of the Knights gave him and spoke back to Ben. "Stephan the diver. Let's check by the boats and see if—" Suddenly, a monster roar along with a shake cut him off as people panicked as the kids ran toward the source.

The trio stops at a large part of the balcony looking like it was bitten off as Madison notices the shaking coming from a collapsing column. "Ben! The column!" "On it!" Ben cries out as he slaps down on the Omnitrix, transforming into Rath as he quickly dives in, swimming and using his strength to stabilize the pillar. "Oh yeah! No stupid pillar gets broken while Rath is on the job!" Rath quickly climbs and leaps out and shakes his fur dry.

"You know, I always wondered why Rath is not scared of water, despite being a cat?" The blonde preteen ponders out. "Because Rath is not scared of anything! Because fear runs from the Rath! Because Rath can kick its butt and mail it to the hospital!" Rath declares as he flexes his muscles. Maddie responds with a sigh and a sweat drop. "Just ignore it, Normie. It's an alien thing."

The blonde frowns as he gazes around, only to find something interesting as he picks it up. "Whoa… Check this out!" He picks it up to show a huge tooth as the girl asks. "What's that?" "A tooth… But big!" "A clue…" Rath comments out as Normie notices some slime on it as well. "Let's see what the knights have to say about this." Using the disc to scan it, the device starts analyzing as it gets the results. "Whoa! That's fast." Normie comments as Maddie reads it. "According to this, it's a monster tooth!" Normie grins out as the girl gets an annoyed look. "Okay! So, there is a monster running around. Let's talk to Stephan and see if we can learn some more."

The team of young monster hunters went down to the boats to meet the man, Stephan. They started to talk to him and ask him questions about what happened. "I wish I could tell you more, but I don't know." "Well, start at the beginning, anyway!" Ben spoke out. "We were leisurely swimming when the water suddenly got very cold. Then splashing… Then some sort of shadow. And my friend was gone. That's all I can remember." Normie frowns while scratching the back of his head. "Not much to go on, dude."

Ben looked up and saw the clouds were forming and it was starting to get storm-like. "Just like before… Brace yourselves! Things are going to get rough!" Suddenly, there was a brief shake as people screamed as something was moving underneath the boats, grabbing and dragging one away from the others and then sinking it, all while the 4 watched from their boat. "Well, it's clear on what to do. We're going scuba diving." "Wait! In there?! Where the monster is!?" Madison cries out as she points in fear at the water. Ben gave her a questioning look as the girl sighs out. "I'm starting to wish I stayed home, instead. I rather take my chances with the Secret Service."

After heading back to the copter for their diving suits, Stephan drove his boat out where his friend was as the kids suited up and dived in. As the kids swim through the ocean, they can't help but be amazed at how beautiful the sea looks when under it as Maddie breathes out in awe. "Wow! Look at this! It's pretty!" "Okay! This is cool!" Normie spoke out as they swam deeper and deeper. "I know, right?" Ben spoke out as he thought about his experience swimming underneath as Ripjaws. "Sure, wish I was Ripjaws, through..." Ben mumbles out, sometimes missing his old aliens.

As the kids kept swimming, they stumbled upon a sunken ship. As they explore it, Maddie spots something glowing on the sand as she picks up a gold coin. "Whoa! Check this out!" "And check this out!" Ben spoke out as they look at a tunnel that is sucking in water like a vacuum. "I'm willing to bet my necklace that's the monster's lair." "Are you sure about that?" "One way to find out!" Normie grins out as both boys drag Maddie into the rapids. She screams, hanging on as the trio are pushed at fast speeds through the tunnel.

After being tossed and turned, the kids surface into a hidden cavern as they gaze around. "Looks like a normal cavern to me, guys." The girl points out. "But I was sure this where the monster is?" Ben mumbles out in confusion. Maddie then pulls out the coin she found and Normie notices. "By the way, does this coin have anything to do with what is going on here? I found it in the wreckage, looks important." "Hey!" Normie grabs it as he examines it. "This reminds me of something from 'Beast beneath the sea'!" "What?" "Something about gold… Or a treasure…" "How can you forget about something from your favorite movie?!" Normie shrugs out at Madison. "It's hard to remember everything about it when you have different favorite movies."

The girl points out. "Let's try the Legendex." Normie decides to bring it up on his suit's computer as just then, Ben felt the water getting cold, just like Stephan said before. "Uhh… Guys! The water just got cold." "I'm searching… Give me a second." "Meanwhile, Water Hazard's going deep sea diving." Ben decides to slap down on the Omnitrix, only to make a big flash of green light.

Scales grew all over the boy's arm and his hand became clawed and webbed as well. Ben felt gills growing out of his neck as a lure burst out of his forehead like a pimple. His teeth became razor sharp and grew so big they stuck out of his lips. The transformed kid threw his arms to the side and let out a gargled roar as he posed.

"Wha... ALL RIGHT! Ripjaws is back, baby!" Ripjaws cries out in glee as he is now one of his original 10 aliens! He mostly looks the same as he did before, except he now has a black neck brace that covers the top of his shoulders and upper chest area that has a green outline and black arm braces with 3 white stripes on them. The Omnitrix is now on a green and white belt on his waist. "Cool! A fish man!" Normie calls out as Madison studies Ripjaws. "So... This is one of your original aliens when you first got the Omnitrix?" "Yep! Stay right here! I'll be back!" Ripjaws dives down and forms his tail, smiling at it. "My old sea tail... I miss this." Ripjaws sighed with a smile as he swam off as Madison got more and more scared.

"Well... Hurry! I'm getting a little worried…" Maddie shivers out as Normie finds something!" "Bingo! The Legend of the Leviathan dates back 3,000 years. This sounds promising." Suddenly, Ripjaws screams from underwater as a large shadow passes beneath them. "BEN!" The kids quickly follow after the large shadow as Maddie quickly fires a tracking device from her left wrist, latching on the creature.

The kids managed to make their way out of the cave as they looked all over for their friend. "Where did he go?!" Maddie activates her tracker as the red dot indicates their friend's location. "This way!" They kept swimming as fast as they could, trying to find their friend. As they swam over some coral, they were shocked and scared at a huge, green-scaled, sea serpent monster, floating in front of them. "Uh… Normie? Does the monster from your movie look anything like that?!" "Nope! I told you it was a giant, 1-eyed squid, not a sea serpent!" The Monster growls as it notices the 2 kids, floating in front of them. "Maybe if we stay still, it will ignore us?" Unfortunately, for the blonde boy, the monster roars and sucks them into its mouth as they screamed at the top of their lungs.

The 2 tweens managed to recover and activate their flashlight, revealing the pinkness innards of the monster. "Isn't the paranormal cool, Maddie?" "You're joking, right?" The 2 start walking around, trying to figure out where they are when they spot Ripjaws. "BEN!" "Guys!" They all hug as they chuckle. "Dude! We were looking for you!" "Yeah… When I was investigating, I ran into the monster and tried fighting it, but it was tougher than it looks and swallowed me whole." The alien answers Normie. Just then, a man appears, wearing a diver suit as well. "Please tell me this isn't the 'rescue squad', you mentioned?" "Oh! This is Lance, found this dude wandering around in here."

"Well, now we just need to figure out a way to get out of this hulking monster!" Normie ponders out as he comments. "Or at least, try and remember how 'Beast beneath the sea' ends?" "Everyone disappears at the end of that movie." Lance deadpans as the blonde kid exclaims with a grin. "Oh, yeah! What a great ending! Uh… For a movie! Going with a different option in real life, though." The beast then roars as it shakes itself, making Maddie stumble until Ripjaws grabs her. "Careful! Don't fall there! That's the monster's stomach! You fall in there and you're this thing's next meal."

After settling down as Ripjaws times out, Normie pulls the Legendex back out as he looks up info about the monster. "What does this thing what?! Why is it eating people?!" Normie responds to Madison "It just wants its treasure." "Treasure?" Ben asks out. "According to legend, Leviathan, who's our host, is the guardian of an ancient treasure of a lost civilization that disappeared thousands of years ago. Respect his quest and leave the treasure alone, and the Leviathan will never harm you. But disturb his quest and steal his treasure, and the monster will hunt you down to the edges of the world."

Ben ponders out at the info. "But why would the Leviathan attack us? We didn't take its treasure!" Maddie had a realization as she took out her coin. "Maybe we did! Check this coin out, that I found at the sunken ship!" She throws it in the air, just as Lance grabs it and inspects it. "Hey! We found a chest full of gold coins like this on our dive."

"Wait… Stephan never mentioned anything about the chest." Maddie spoke out as Ben frowned and snatched the coin back. "He wants to keep the treasure to himself, clearly! Well, that treasure is going back to the Leviathan! We just need to figure out a way to get out." Just then, small pink jellyfish-like things were crawling toward them and the humans were surprised. "What are those!?" "Best guess: They're the monster's immune system! And we're the viruses!" Ben frowns at Maddie's words as he clicks the watch. "Well then, maybe it's time to meet my big friend!" FLASH

Ben's skin grew brown as muscles piled onto themselves as he grew in height. A tail grows from his spine, black spikes appear on his back and his feet and legs become thick as tree trunks. His head changes as his eyes flash green.

"Take this!" Humungousaur cries out as he slams his tail on the ground, blasting out a shockwave that blows the Immune system back, but causes the Leviathan to groan out in pain as it shakes, giving Normie an idea! "That's it! Ben! Keep slamming out shockwaves! We'll give the Leviathan an upset stomach!" "Oh, I get it! Let's give this fella a nasty case of indigestion!" He grins as he slams his tail all over the place, with the sonic vibrations blasting all over and putting the monster in intense pain!

After a bit, the monster burps them out, sending them flying high into the air and splashing down into the sea. They managed to surface and gasped in the air as Humungousaur kept struggling to stay afloat. "What is with you?" Normie asked out. "I'm over 700 pounds of muscle! I need to flail to keep afloat!" He cries out, but luckily times out as Ben smiles at the Omnitrix.

"Can't believe I'm saying this but thank goodness you timed out early!" They noticed the boat and swam towards it. They saw Stephan checking on the chest. "I believe you have something that belongs to the Leviathan!" Maddie frowns at the man as he covers the chest and sits on it. "I don't think so. And nothing you kids can do can make me change my mind." Normie then notices the monster rising from the sea as he points at it, making all eyes divert on the beast. "Uh… I think HE would like a few words!" The beast roars out as Stephan backs away in shock and fear, making Ben uncover the chest as he and his friends push the chest to the edge. "Hey, big guy! We have something that you want! Is this it?!" The beast widens its eyes as it roars out in response, making the kids push the chest into the ocean as the monster dives after it, getting his treasure back at last.

The cloud over the town clears up as the team overlooks the sea from the docks. Normie kept his stun laser on the 2 treasure hunters if they tried something. "I don't get it. We never felt this bittersweet after a paranormal victory. So… Why are we feeling it this time?" Maddie asked as Ben answered. "Well… It's hard to give up a treasure like that. I should know, that I once wanted an ultra-rare trading card, but I had to give it up to save a life. But it's not a total loss! I managed to regain an old alien." Ben smirks as he twists the Omnitrix to Ripjaw's icon. Maddie smiled as she took out the golden coin. "Kept this! I'm sure the Leviathan won't mind if we keep this as a souvenir of our trip."

Just then, some water splashes on the girl as they glance to see said monster raises only halfway, narrowing his eyes at Maddie as he gestures with his left front leg to give the coin back. "Okay… Here!" She chucks the coin in the paw as the monster smiles, diving down. "Huh… You know, for a monster that doesn't speak at all, he's surprisingly smart." Normie comments as Ben shrugs. "Who knew?"

The kids were lounging around in swimwear and chairs as they relaxed in Monta Carlo for a while. Just then, some Knights came up to them. "Well done, Squire Tennyson and friends." They gesture to a large boat as it carries the Leviathan out of the water. "We're transporting the Leviathan to a hidden ocean lair, so it can guard the treasure in peace." The boat sails off as the knights leave. "Well… guess we do nothing but kick it back here!" "Best weekend ever!" "Ditto!" The 3 kids clank their sodas as they chill for a relaxing weekend.

Later, after Ben and his friends left for the copter, 2 teens and a big and hairy man arrived at Monta Carlo as they were investigating the strange events that the Leviathan caused, only to their dismay, to find out bad news! "What?! Someone else beat us to another paranormal case?!" The male teen said in dismay as the female stated. "That's what my intel said, Martin. Looks like somehow, someone keeps intercepting our missions, before MOM assigned them." "Java smells something fishy. And not just sea." Martin frowns as he ponders. "Java's right. We better tell Mom and Billy, pronto! Something tells me this is the calm before the storm of something big..." Martin narrows his eyes as he is not sure who is hijacking his cases, but he is going to find out!
