Author's Notes: Hello! Oh boy, this semester really did me over; hopefully my grades have come out decent. So now that I'm out, I've got all these various chapters of stories that I want to put up, including this one. This chapter is pretty much the launching point into the next half of this story, which I'm eager to finish. I'm done with the next chapter, and then it's only two more after that. It's been slow going plus school, but I'm getting there. Other than that, not much more to report on my end except now I'm trying to redo the prologue of my Digimon story so that it's in third-person (turns out first-person isn't the way to go for the story I want to tell).

Uh, and speaking of those various chapters, I know I've been getting asked to put them up, but I'm still a tad focused on Godzilla right now; but since my schedule is a bit more opened up, I know I'm gonna get to the others at some point, but it might take a while. Just warning you. And I've still got backlogs upon backlogs of ideas just wanting to get out, including a brand-new crossover that features Disney's first Princess (I'm done the first chapter!). And once I get that whole story done, I've got a feeling that you guys are gonna be laughing your socks off at some parts and maybe crying at others, but all-in-all, I'm gonna be hoping that you'll enjoy it.

If any of my Author's Notes seem off or not as in-depth, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things after 3 months of not writing. Hopefully your reviews will boost my energy levels and I'll be able to breeze through getting these chapters done before I have to go for my last college semester on the 16th of January next year.

Disclaimer: I do not own the characters of the 1978-79 Hanna-Barbera series Godzilla: The Original Animated Series, Hanna-Barbera does, or should I say Warner Bros. does. This incarnation of Godzilla is owned by H-B and Toho. The only character I own is Vicky, my self-insert and any other OCs. I also do not own the story that is based on the sixth episode of this cartoon series. Also, anything in bold when a kaiju character is speaking/thinking means that they are speaking/thinking in their native language.

Recap: After a battle with the Energy Beast atop Sundance Mesa Dam ends with defeat for Godzilla, said saurian shows up at the Mesa City Power Station and begins tearing it apart. Even more astonishing, Vicky is also on the scene and is fighting him! Everyone at the dam control building has no idea what's going on, but thanks to the previous chapter, you the readers know that down in an underwater cavern somewhere Vicky helped tend to the REAL Godzilla by giving him a physical examination and a lifting pep talk before the two see the news report and determine that the Godzilla on the news is not only a fake, but the Energy Beast in disguise. As the only one who can fight at the moment, Vicky goes to battle the imposter while Godzilla recovers. Which leads us to this point:

CHAPTER 5

Sundance Mesa Dam Control

While Vicky was confronting the imposter and making some rather frightening discoveries, the Calico crew and the workers at Sundance Mesa were still trying to come to grips with what was going on, while a majority of them were also trying to rationalize why Godzilla's behavior had seemingly done a 180.

"It's weird; Godzilla's acting just like the Energy Beast," Brock commented.

"Yes, the same weird attraction to electricity. But why?" Quinn wondered aloud.

"May-Maybe it's not him?" Agnes offered. "I mean, what if that attack the Energy Beast used put him under some kind of mind control?"

"Somehow I don't think that's the answer," Quinn disagreed.

"Let's worry about that later," Captain Majors interrupted. "Right now we've gotta get Vicky away from Godzilla and get Godzilla away from the power station."

"Not to be a Doubting Thomas, Captain, but do you really think you can convince Godzilla to leave?" Alan asked.

"Well, despite whatever's happened to Godzilla, he'll still listen to his friends," Pete answered.

Captain Majors nodded. "Pete's right. And we'd better get moving as soon as possible."

"How are we going to get there, Carl?" Quinn asked as the crew began making their way to the door.

"We'll take the mini-copter; it's the fastest way I know," the captain answered.

When they got out of the building, though, they found that their first task was trying to calm down an upset Godzooky. Even Agnes came out to help when she heard Zooky crying.

"Oh, there, there, cariño," Agnes soothed as she caressed him. "We'll figure this out."

"She's right, Zooky; Vicky probably knows more about what's going on than we do," Pete said.

"All the more reason to get there before she really does get hurt," Captain Majors said.

"But… But he wouldn't…" Zooky whimpered.

"I know, I don't get it either," Pete admitted.

"We'd better go," Captain Majors said.

Despite still being scared and confused, Zooky nodded, wiped his eyes, and took deep breaths to calm himself; he needed his wits about him if he was to going to protect Pete and the others.

"Be careful out there, all of you," Agnes called as the humans drove off in their jeep back to the Calico, Zooky close behind.

Alan stood at the door, trying to comprehend everything that was happening, including seeing an actual Titan cry. It was more like he had been seeing a little kid cry because he couldn't understand why someone he trusted would do something so bad.

No. Not "trusted".

Loved.

The young man wasn't entirely sure what was going on with himself, but he was starting to think maybe Agnes was a little more on-the-nose about Titans than he thought.

And when the two went back to their station, he couldn't help but silently pray for little Zooky and the crew while his sister did the same.

Mesa City Power Station

All the way to the power station, Captain Majors had to remind himself not to push the mini-copter's engine so hard; he had seen that Vicky was capable of handling herself around kaiju, but that still didn't dispel the fact that she was a young girl in a very dangerous situation.

Hold on, Vicky; you're the only one who may know what's going on, Majors silently prayed before asking Brock: "How are we doing, navigator?"

"Right on course," Brock answered as he checked a map of the area.

Majors nodded before looking out the window to see Zooky flying next to them; he had a near-frantic look on his young face and the captain could tell that he too was trying to watch his speed.

"I hope we can get to Godzilla and Vicky in time," Quinn said.

"We will, Dr. Darien," Brock said, once again looking up from the map of the area. "Mesa City dead ahead…and so are Godzilla and Vicky!" he exclaimed, seeing the raging saurian holding one of the power station's generators while live wires were draped over his arms.

From where the incoming group was, they could just make Vicky out; she was hovering a slight distance away with her energy whip hanging. It looked like she was standing down for the moment.

Captain Majors reached for the bullhorn that Pete had been holding the whole trip, turned it on, and called through it: "VICKY! CLEAR OUT OF THERE!"

"She's not moving off," Brock noticed after a couple of minutes.

Zooky then spoke up and Pete translated: "She's calling to us."

"Is she calling for help?"

Zooky shook his head.

At that moment, Vicky gave herself a facepalm and turned on the watch's vocal amplification unit, which was probably something she should have done a long time ago. Grimacing against the leftover taste of throw-up in her mouth, she cleared her throat and yelled while making a "move away" motion with her free arm:

"RADIATION! GET BACK! GET BACK!"

This shocked the crew; as far as they knew, Godzilla had not once attacked a nuclear facility or displayed any of the nuclear-based attacks his predecessors had done. And there had been no word on the news of there having been an attack on a nuclear facility before the power station, so what was bringing this on?

Nevertheless, it was better to be safe than sorry, so Majors turned the mini-copter around and moved back a few feet. Quinn told Pete to instruct Zooky to go a bit further back, just to be extra safe. Now for the next step.

"NOW, WHAT'S GOING ON? YOU NEED TO BACK OFF!" Captain Majors called through the bullhorn.

"I'M AFRAID THAT'S A 'NO-CAN-DO', SIR!" Vicky called back. "SOMEONE'S GOTTA HOLD THIS CHEAP POSER AT BAY, AND UNTIL OTHERWISE, IT'S GONNA BE ME."

Captain Majors had to hold back a few choice words for Pete's sake in regards to the girl's stubbornness. What she trying to do, get herself killed?

Zooky, meanwhile, was confused when he heard Vicky call his uncle a "cheap poser". What did she mean by that? She was never mean to Godzilla. Sure, she might have teased him a couple times before, but it was all in friendly fun.

"JUST STAY BACK AND DON'T GET TOO CLOSE; MY SHIELD CAN PROTECT ME FROM THE RADIATION," Vicky continued before finally moving in with another whip attack.

"Now what are we gonna do?" Brock asked.

"What I should have done in the first place," Majors muttered. "Keep us at the same distance, but take us above Godzilla," he then instructed Brock, who nodded and leaned over to temporarily take control. Once they were in position, the captain used the bullhorn again, but addressed Godzilla this time: "GODZILLA! YOU'RE ENDANGERING PEOPLE! GET AWAY FROM THE POWER STATION!"

"Godzilla" just roared brusquely, leaving Zooky shocked; he had never heard his uncle use language like that before. And now he knew why Vicky had often signaled him to cover his ears; hearing those types of words hurt.

There was something else, too, though, but he couldn't put a finger on it at the moment.

"HEY! YOU WATCH YOUR MOUTH, BUSTER!" Vicky yelled, giving "Godzilla" another slap across the face.

"Ouch," Brock winced. "Remind me to never tick her off."

Zooky nodded in agreement, well-knowing how scary she could get when she lost her temper.

"He isn't responding; let me try," Quinn said before taking the bullhorn. "GODZILLA, IT'S DR. DARIEN AND PETE," she said through the bullhorn, trying to sound less forceful; if Godzilla was met with belligerence again, he would probably respond the same way, only more forcefully.

"And me, Uncle Goji! It's me, Godzooky!" the youngling saurian added.

"AND GODZOOKY, REMEMBER?" Quinn continued.

"Yeah! You remember me, don't ya?" Zooky smiled hopefully.

"GUYS—" Vicky quickly cut herself off and turned the vocal amplification unit on again: "GUYS, IT'S NOT WHO YOU THINK! BACK OFF BEFORE IT KILLS YOU!"

"Not who you think"? What was she talking about? These were pretty much the questions that were going through everyone's heads right then and there.

The crew seriously wanted to ask, but it seemed that Vicky was more focused on battling Godzilla—something no 12-year-old should be doing, quite frankly—and they still were trying to work on getting Godzilla out of the area.

"YOU'VE GOT TO LEAVE THE AREA," Quinn pressed on, seeing "Godzilla" look up from the carnage he was making; maybe she was getting through to him. "YOU'RE ACTING LIKE—"

RR-EE-EE-O-O-O-O-A-A-RR-N-N-N-GK!

"What the devil—?!" "NOT AGAIN!" was all Captain Majors and Vicky could say, respectively, when Godzilla let out another roaring screech and began lashing out again.

The good news was, the crew and Godzooky were too far away to get hit. The bad news was, the wind created by the swipes almost capsized the mini-copter and made Zooky completely loose his bearings. Vicky quickly moved back, not daring to stop this act-out; she didn't want a repeat of last time.

"What's the matter with him?" Brock asked once Majors had gotten the machine under control. "Doesn't he recognize us?"

"If he does, this is a heck of a way to show it!" Captain Majors remarked.

"We'd better get further back and land before someone really does get hurt," Quinn said. "It's pretty clear that she's not going to budge, Carl; we're just going to have to focus on Godzilla right now," she told her friend.

Carl sighed in defeat, promising to himself to give the young girl a stern talking-to once this was all over as he brought the mini-copter in for a landing.

Meanwhile, Vicky was sorely wishing that she could just go down and explain everything, but if "Godzilla" started moving, she had to be ready to hold him back; with Goji down and out for the moment, someone had to protect the crew. Someone who could actually (somewhat) handle a bigger threat.

She struck out with her whip again, trying to avoid the generator the fake saurian was currently holding.

On the ground, Carlos Cecilio and his cameraman Max watched the orange helicopter land on the ground, with what looked like a giant lizard with wings under its arms coming down after it, its landing not as graceful as the chopper's. Seeing the creature made Carlos realize that he was quite likely in the middle of a bigger scoop than he realized; that was the famous Calico crew that had just landed, the ones well-known for having the famous/infamous Godzilla and a younger Titan in their company. However, Max, who was still looking through the camera, was getting a good glimpse of the young monster's face; it had a look of stress and hurt. It touched something inside him.

"Hey, come on, man! Come on!" Carlos urged Max, startling the brown-haired cameraman who responded in a distracted, affirmative tone before following.

"We don't know what's wrong with him, Zooky," the young boy was telling the young monster, who had apparently spoken in his own language to the group. "Maybe the helicopter confused him," the boy guessed.

"Excuse me!" Carlos called.

"Hey, you're that guy from the news!" Pete exclaimed.

"That's right; Carlos Cecilio of Mesa City Daily News, and that's my cameraman, Max," the reporter introduced. "And you all must be the crew of the Calico."

"That's right," Quinn confirmed. "Look, you'll have to forgive us Mr. Cecilio, but this isn't exactly the best time for an interview."

"No, no, I understand; but it's…it has to be quite the shock," Mr. Cecilio said. "I mean, ever since the battle between Ghidorah and the team of Godzilla, Anguirus, Rodan, and Mothra all those years ago, many people have come to see Godzilla as a defender, and now this."

"We don't exactly know what's going on, Mr. Cecilio," Quinn answered. "The only one who would know is currently up there," she added, motioning with her head to the rather one-sided battle.

"You mean that girl on the flying skateboard?" Max asked. "Is she a friend of yours?"

Zooky nodded his head and Pete replied, "She's also a friend of Godzilla's, but I don't know why she'd be attacking him."

Zooky let out a whimper just then, and Pete and Quinn went over to him to try to soothe him. Max peeked out from behind the camera, rather touched by the scene. Slowly, he started making his way over as well, not sure if it was OK to do so. He started backing off when the youngling saurian noticed him, but Pete told Max that it was OK and he came closer.

Max reflexively put a hand to his head to keep his hair from going all over the place as the young, winged saurian sniffed him. Ultimately, he was deemed as friendly and granted a smile. The cameraman smiled back; he couldn't help it.

"Hey, Aunt Quinn, let me try, OK?" Pete asked, his hand up to take the bullhorn.

Frankly, if neither Carl nor herself could convince Godzilla to come to his senses, then Pete's chances were practically nil. However, he looked determined to have a try, so she agreed.

"Sure, Pete. Go ahead," she said, handing the bullhorn to the boy, who proceeded to walk to a spot just a bit ahead of the mini-copter.

Max began to nervously caress Zooky's neck at seeing the worried look on his face, but upon seeing that he wasn't going to be pushed away, he said, "Hey, maybe your friend might have some luck, huh?" Honestly, Max wasn't too sure about Pete's chances either, but better to offer some hope than offer more despair.

Meanwhile, Mr. Cecilio was still trying to get something out of the crew members.

"I heard the girl yelling something about radiation," he was saying to Captain Majors. "What do you think it means?"

"We don't know; he's never used a nuclear-powered attack before. Look, we told you that this isn't exactly the time to be doing an interview," Captain Majors said.

"I know, but I'm just—Hey, what's he doing?" Cecilio asked, noticing Pete walk by.

"It's worth a try, Carl," Quinn said, answering the captain's unasked question.

You can do this. You can do this. Don't be nervous, Pete told himself before taking a deep breath and saying, "PLEASE, GODZILLA. LISTEN, WE'RE YOUR FRIENDS, REMEMBER?"

The only response the brown-eyed boy got back was a roar.

"IT'S PETE! DON'T YOU KNOW ME?"

Another roar and no reaction other than to send another swipe at the buzzing nuisance that was Vicky on her hoverboard.

Pete sighed and walked back to the others, feeling downcast that he didn't have any luck.

"Hey, at least he tried," Max said to Zooky, feeling like someone who had met somebody's kid in a store and trying to calm them because there were scared; this was not exactly what he was expecting to do when he and Mr. Cecilio had gone out to cover the news this afternoon.

"It's no use, Pete," Captain Majors told the boy. "He doesn't remember."

"So, now what will you do?" Mr. Cecilio asked, practically ready to turn to Max to broadcast an SOS to the Armed Forces or MONARCH now that trying to reason with Godzilla was useless.

"There's one more thing we can try," Dr. Darien said. "If he won't leave the energy, maybe we can get the energy to leave him."

"Can you do that?" Max asked, trying to hold his camera away from the curious Godzooky.

"With a little help from our friends at Sundance Mesa," Quinn said. And once that's done, maybe we'll finally make some progress.

"Can you divert the dam's electricity away from Mesa City?" Quinn asked over the mini-copter's radio as she looked at an image of Nelik on the small screen on the controls.

"It just might work. We'll see what we can do, Dr. Darien," Nelik responded before giving the command to Martin, the Constanza twins, and the other workers who were there to shut down the power flowing from the dam to the power station.

Once that was done, Nelik turned back to the screen and reported, "The power's coming down. How's it looking out there?"

A loud roar cut Quinn off and she quickly got out of the mini-copter to see what was going on.

"Godzilla" had just picked up another generator and was starting to shake it, like he didn't understand what had happened to it.

"It's working. There's no more energy to feed him," Brock said.

Vicky was realizing the same thing at 75 1/2 meters up in the air and started getting worried. Maybe this faker didn't have Goji's flame breath or laser eyes, but he seemed to have her friend's keen sense of smell, so he would know where to look for more energy next.

WHOO-OO! WHOO-OO! WHOO-OO!

Vicky jumped as her watch blared with an alarm that was louder than the last one. At the same time, "Godzilla" let out another screeching roar accompanied with another lashing-out fit as two generators flew out of his hands. Thankfully, both objects landed too far away to hurt anyone in the immediate area.

Then the hair on the back of her neck and on her arms stood up as it felt like an electricity filled the air.

A deep whir soon followed with a slight shimmer of blue from the dorsal plates.

Vicky almost threw up again. She knew what that was; the radiation must have built up enough in the creature's body to want release, and it was really playing havoc on the fake's body.

However, instead of building up, it soon went down. Of course, the internal battle had to have been taking up quite a bit of energy. Which of course led back to Vicky's worry.

And sure enough, once the Fake Godzilla had put his nose to the wind, he smelled what he was looking for. It didn't matter that it was electricity; it was energy, and that meant keeping him alive. He let out a roar and began stomping out of the area, knocking down power lines and telephone poles as he went.

Vicky was hot on his tail, firing laser blast after laser blast; with her shield now operating at a significantly higher power level than normal, her laser was the only functioning weapon left. She had to let the crew know what was going on, where the fake was going next, and that it really was a fake, but at the rate it was stomping off, she only had enough time for one thing.

She turned on the vocal amplification unit once more and yelled: "CASTLE BRAVO! CASTLE BRAVO!" before returning her attention to trying to hold the fake back as long as she could. Or die trying.

"I don't understand why he doesn't know us," Pete said once "Godzilla" and Vicky had left the area.

"I don't know Pete, but right now it looks like we have two Energy Beasts on our hands," Captain Majors said.

"And either one of them could turn up next," Brock added.

"The question is where," Dr. Darien said. "They both seem to be attracted to high concentrations of energy."

"I'm also curious as to the exclamation of 'Castle Bravo'," Mr. Cecilio pointed out.

"What's that? I've never heard of a place like that," Godzooky said.

"That's because it's not a place, Zooky," Pete answered.

"Yeah, that's right," Max added. "Castle Bravo was the name of the first thermonuclear test in the Bikini Atoll by the United States."

"Quinn? What's the matter?" Captain Majors asked when the female scientist gasped loudly, a look of horror on her face.

Instead of responding, the female biologist dashed for the communication monitor in the mini-copter and, trying to keep her voice as steady as she could, called, "Mr. Nelik, are there any nuclear reactors in this area?"

"What?!" Brock yelped. "But if he—"

An exclamation of "Dios Mio!" from Agnes on the other side of the screen told Quinn that everyone at the control building had come to the same frightening conclusion.

"There's one. On Crescent Beach," Nelik answered gravely.

"If Godzilla attacks there, he could irradiate the state, maybe the whole coast!" Mr. Cecilio exclaimed.

Godzooky was now really worried and extremely confused; from what he had heard about nuclear stuff, it was apparently very deadly to humans as much as it was beneficial (at a certain intake and age) to his kind. He just couldn't believe Godzilla would actually do something like this!

Or was it? So many things had come up in the time "Godzilla" and Vicky were here. Obviously Vicky would never fight Godzilla; they were good friends. Then there was the crude language used; something about Godzilla's voice sounded off. And was it his imagination or did he feel a buzzing in the air when Godzilla swiped at him? There were way too many questions presenting themselves.

"You'd better warn them to shut down the reactor," Quinn told Nelik.

"We've already tried; the phone lines are out."

"Godzilla knocked them out when he attacked the power station," Brock said.

"Someone's got to warn them," Quinn said.

"Then we've gotta go there ourselves," Captain Majors decided. He then turned to Pete and said, "Pete, you and Godzooky go back to Sundance Mesa and wait for us."

Godzooky let out a whine of protest while Pete groaned, "Aw, do I have to?"

"Yes, Pete; it's too dangerous," the boy's aunt said firmly.

Pete held back an exasperated sigh and nodded; there was no way he was going to disobey his aunt when she used that tone.

"Come on, Zooky," Pete told his friend dejectedly.

Zooky wanted to come along too; he still wanted to try and reason with Godzilla, but there were still all those questions coming up in his young mind that were starting to make him doubt his senses. He needed some time to figure all this out, and he couldn't get that in the heat of a battle. Once Pete was on his back, Zooky flapped his wings and flew off in the direction of Sundance Mesa.

"What about you two?" Captain Majors asked Mr. Cecilio and his cameraman.

"We have our own chopper; we'll follow you," Mr. Cecilio said.

"Are you sure? This could get deadly," Quinn warned.

"Hey, I promised coverage of this from start to finish, so I've got a commitment to fulfill," Carlos said. "But if you guys say 'run', me and Max'll be outta here like the wind."

The grownups of the Calico crew agreed; it wasn't like they had time to argue over details, anyway. Once the reporter and the cameraman managed to get their own flying machine, both groups set off for what was to be Godzilla's next target.

Crescent Beach

Even with the combined navigational powers of Brock and the pilot of the Mesa City Daily News chopper, it still took quite a while for both parties to arrive at their destination, hoping they had arrived ahead of Godzilla. Said saurian had also been trying to find the quickest route to the nuclear reactor…and it didn't matter what stood in his way. As a result, many towns now laid in ruins with who-knows-how-many dead and even any help from nearby Army bases had been decimated.

As the Calico crew had listened to all the atrocities that had transpired over the radio, their hopes of reaching and somehow reasoning with the saurian were dwindling. Vicky was their only hope of getting any answers, but at the moment she seemed to be more concerned with fighting her "friend", and that could only lead to disaster at some point.

Quinn, and Max in the other copter, couldn't help but think about Godzooky. Max wasn't aware of the relationship between the two saurians, but Quinn knew that they both cared about each other, possibly in a deeper capacity than just an uncle-nephew relationship. In fact, ever since she managed to catch a glimpse of Godzooky playing with Godzilla (there was really no other way to describe seeing the two splashing each other, blowing bubbles in the water, and playing some form of 'hide-and-seek') back in the early days of the crew and the saurians' time together, she had begun to suspect said deeper relationship, but she had yet to see anything to truly confirm it.

Now it looked like she never would, nor did it look like that the relationship between the two saurians even existed anymore. She hoped that Pete was keeping Zooky far away from a radio or a television; hearing all this would break the young kaiju's heart beyond repair.

The faint sound of laser fire drew Quinn out of her thoughts and she looked up to see that they had arrived.

"There's Crescent Beach," Brock said.

Pew! Pew! Pew-pew-pew! Pew! The laser fire continued on, accompanied by annoyed growls and roars that could only come from one being.

"And there's…Godzilla! And Vicky's still after him," Dr. Darien said, spotting the rampaging kaiju as he marched towards the nuclear power plant, occasionally growling, roaring, and swiping at something nearby, like a human would try to swat a fly.

"Captain Majors, Carlos Cecilio calling, over," came the reporter's voice over the communication mic.

The captain picked up the object, pressed the call button, and replied, "This is Majors. What is it, Mr. Cecilio?"

There was a click before Carlos's own reply came: "What's our course of action now, Captain? It seems that at the rate Godzilla's going, he'll reach the reactor in a matter of minutes."

Then we could already be too late, Majors thought in despair.

Suddenly, Quinn reached over and grabbed the radio. "Have you tried reaching them over your radio?" she asked.

"The thought had actually occurred to me, but I haven't heard anything back since initial communication. What do we do?" Mr. Cecilio asked after a pause.

Majors pondered over what choices he had; he already knew that he would be telling the news chopper to either go back to Mesa City or remain at a distance so that they could cover things as long as they could, but as for himself and his two friends, it was a bit more difficult. He could drop Brock and Quinn off with the news people and go off to the nuclear power plant to make sure they got the message, but Quinn would be adamantly against that. And what if something happened while he was in there? Vicky would undoubtedly blame herself for not trying hard enough and that was something he didn't want to put on her shoulders. But at the same time he couldn't just sit there and wait for the inevitable; he had to do something!

But what could he do against a kaiju?

Finally, Majors sighed heavily and answered, "Follow me. We'll set down at that cliff there."

"Yes sir," Mr. Cecilio answered before relaying the instructions to his helicopter pilot.

Once everyone had landed, Mr. Cecilio and Max got to work at reporting on what was currently happening. Meanwhile, Captain Majors, Dr. Darien, and Brock stood off to the side.

"I still can't believe it. Maybe Agnes was right and this isn't Godzilla? I mean, maybe there are two Godzillas, ours and another one," Brock speculated, trying not to give up on Godzilla yet.

"I think we'd have found that out before now, Brock," Dr. Darien answered. "And even though it has happened, the world isn't big enough for two Godzillas," she added, referring to Senior and Junior.

"May-Maybe this one just hatched or something," Brock guessed.

It was a rather long-shot guess, Quinn thought, but there was one way to be sure.

"We could find out; just activate the Godzilla Signal," she told Captain Majors.

But he disagreed: "That wouldn't do any good. What if he attacked us?"

"We have to try something, Carl. If we don't, Vicky will be killed and everyone in the area will be affected by the radiation."

Speaking of said girl, Vicky was now finding herself facing a new problem: The Fake Godzilla had just stomped into a nearby parking lot and decided to use her for target practice.

"WHOA! AAH! Man! I sure hope those people have good insurance!" Vicky exclaimed to no-one in particular after she dodged a car and a van that had been thrown at her. "I wonder if mine covers injuries caused by biting off more than you can chew and taking on a fake Godzilla," she thought aloud before yelping again as she flew off to dodge an incoming truck trailer.

Meanwhile, those who were on the cliff had also tried to get to some kind of cover just in case any of those tossed vehicles came in their direction. So far, they had been lucky, but who knew how long that would last.

And the Fake Godzilla was already tiring of this; he wanted that energy from that building, and he wanted it now. Besides, once he had all that power, he'd be able to wipe out that human who dared to attack him with no problem.

Things were looking pretty bleak…and they might have gotten worse if it weren't for the fact that a new group had just arrived and settled on a cliff just above where the adults were.

And one of those new arrivals had a plan.

Ooh, nice suspenseful moment to end on, huh? Of course, as many of you are likely familiar with the original material, you probably know who's just arrived so there goes the suspense.

Anyway, everyone else is still trying to figure out what's wrong with "Godzilla", with Agnes even putting out a theory that he's being mind-controlled. Well, it wouldn't be the first time a Godzilla had been mind-controlled; Godzilla's grandfather has had that happen to him twice: Once by the Xiliens ("Invasion of the Astro-Monster") and once by Viras (my fanfic-verse version of "Gamera vs Viras"). Understandably, Godzooky is the most upset and confused by this, and that show of emotion seems to have Alan starting to think differently about Titans. The Calico crew and Godzooky head for Mesa City and try to talk Vicky down, but to no success and things aren't any better with "Godzilla", who lets out some rather crude words and seems to have a seizure, almost knocking everyone out of the sky.

On the ground, the Calico crew and Zooky meet Carlos Cecilio and his cameraman Max, who have been reporting on the action for the past two chapters. Of course, Mr. Cecilio's reporter instinct to get a story is going full-throttle, but now is really not the time for asking questions. I'm sure Max has plenty of questions of his own, though, especially after meeting Zooky up close and personal. Dr. Darien has the people back at the dam turn off the power, but the plan backfires in a major way when the disguised Energy Beast appears to almost lets out a nuclear pulse, then stomps off in the direction of a certain source of power, a source that Vicky knows about from her exclamation of "Castle Bravo": A nuclear reactor. Looks like in this form electricity isn't the only thing the Energy Beast is attracted to. Godzooky and Pete are told to head back to Sundance Mesa while the rest of the crew, Mr. Cecilio and Max head for Crescent Beach in hopes of reaching the people at the reactor in time. As they do so, reports are coming in of "Godzilla" causing serious damage and fatalities, making the crew's faith in reaching their friend fade fast. Come on, guys, don't lose hope!

Unfortunately, the Fake Godzilla (with Vicky still in pursuit) is already too close to warn anyone and contact cannot be established. A debate then ensues amongst the adults of the Calico crew over what to do about Godzilla while Vicky continues to keep the fight up as best she can. It seems that things are hopeless, but as mentioned some new players have arrived. What will they do? Answers to this question and many more in the next chapter!

And now, here are the questions:

What are some theories you would make about "Godzilla's" strange behavior?

If you were at the confrontation at the Mesa City Power Station, what would you be doing? What are some thoughts that would be going through your head?

What do you make of Carlos Cecilio and his cameraman Max?

What course of action would you take at Crescent Beach, either to warn the people at the nuclear reactor or to make a last-ditch attempt to reach "Godzilla"?

Now the translations (only two this time and both from previous chapters):

Cariño – When used in the general sense, it means "fondness" or "affection". When used as a nickname, as Agnes does here, it can be translated to "dear", "sweetie", or "honey". In this case, she's calling Zooky "sweetie", as in he's a sweet little kid. (chapter 3)

Dios Mio: My God (chapter 1)

That's it for this chapter; next time, we start going into the final stretch when a surprise guest arrives to the fight. Again, if you know the original material, you know who it is, but—Oops! Almost spoiled it! Let's just say be prepared to be amazed!

As always, please read and review. Thank you! :)
