Club 23 - Chapter XXIX - The Spring Formal Part 2
For a good minute, the two were just staring at each other taking in each other's attractiveness. Eventually, they had to speak but didn't know who was going to speak first. That person ended up being Phoebus
"Wow, you look…great," he said trying to focus on what he was saying
They stood silent again until Esmeralda spoke up
"So do…you", she said
As they stand back for a moment they look towards the entrance and notice their friends and dates just staring at them. Knowing the awkwardness of the moment, Phoebus decides to say something
"Oh…hey guys…"
"You all look great!", Esmeralda picked up the sentence for him and the two of them entered, laughing it off as if nothing had ever happened
"Those two…definitely hooking up after", said Flynn looking at the couple with everyone nodding in agreement
Meanwhile, on the side, Pocahontas notices a black car arrive, out of that black car comes someone with blonde hair, who seems to be wearing a blue tuxedo, with a blue bowtie, white shirt blue slacks, and black shoes. She heeds her attention to Megara
"Goodness, Meg, he's here, how do I look?", said Pocahontas in a worrying tone
Megara stands there saying nothing
"Well…?", said Pocahontas waiting for a response, Megara started to chuckle and responded
"You look perfect", she said and gave her a hug, "You'll be fine", she continued
Pocahontas smiled back and responded by saying "thanks", and walked to the entrance to meet him
At the entrance, John awaits her arrival, when she comes to meet him, he is awe-struck at how beautiful she looks. He hadn't seen her like this in a long time and vice-versa as she was impressed at what he was wearing up close
"I'm nervous", he says
"Why?", she responds
"I haven't been this close as I am with you in a while"
"I know, but how does it feel?", she asks
He pauses to regroup an answer
"I'm feeling a lot of things", he says as she grabs both of his hands and holds them tight, "But mostly, excitement"
She smiles, "I'm feeling a little bit of that as well"
"Shall we", he says
"We shall", she responds as he helps her to the entrance. As the pair goes in she notices another somebody in the same outfit as John, but in red. She whispers to herself, "Oh…shit"
Meanwhile, Flynn has moved to the stage where he is meeting with Tiana alongside his bandmates, Aladdin, Phoebus, Quasimodo, and Esmeralda for final preparations
"So how is everything?", Flynn asked Tiana
"Everything is going great, people are loving the event so far, hoping y'all's performance goes well", said Tiana
"Trust me, everything will go well, right guys?", said Flynn asking his bandmates while they shook their heads, some with slight hesitation
"I sure hope so", says Aladdin with some nervousness, "I want Jasmine to be as loud as she can when we do this" he continued
"Same, hope Madelliane is cheering me on as well", said Quasimodo with that same nervous energy
Flynn comes in between them to comfort them
"Pre-stage anxiety, look boys it happens to the best of us", he says, "And besides, that man should be the most nervous out of all us (pointing to Phoebus), he got his date with him"
"Um, Flynn, I don't think Phoebus is that nervous", says Quasimodo while he looks at Phoebus and Esmeralda making conversation
"So…you ready to be rockstars tonight?", said Esmeralda
"Don't you mean cover rockstars?", said Phoebus
And the two of them both laugh
"But seriously though, are you?", Esmeralda gets a bit serious and Phoebus looks into the seriousness of her green eyes and tells her
"Yeah, especially when I'm gonna do it with you", and they hug
Charlotte then comes backstage
"Alright folks, y'all little performance is gonna happen in a few minutes," she says
"Thanks, Lottie", says Flynn, and then Tiana comes and joins her
"Really hope you have a good one," she said
"Thanks Tia", said Flynn
"Before I go through Flynn," she continued, "What's your band's name?"
Meanwhile in the main ballroom…
"Meg, thank goodness I found you", said Pocahontas in distress
"Yeah, same here, what's up, how's it been with…?" said Megara before she was cut off
"I'm fine, until now, because guess who I saw walk-in"
Megara tried to think until she finally realized, "No"
"Yes, he does go here, and we never realize it, what do we do?", said Pocahontas worrying
"Ok, Poca relax, he probably doesn't know you're here, I mean what's the worst that can happen with this guy?"
"Yeah, yeah you're right Meg, what's the worst that can happen?"
All of a sudden…
"Pocahontas?", said Wolfe and she turned around
"John, so glad to see you", she says trying to save face, "I have a question?"
"Um sure, go ahead", he says
"Is it cool if I call you 'Wolfe'"?
"Um…sure, I don't mind, by the way, you look great"
"Um, thanks, so do you"
"Thanks, anyway, I'm gonna get going, I think the performance is about to start, nice to see you?"
"Likewise," she said as he walked off
"I think you handled that pretty well", whispered Megara, "Now let's go support our friend's performance"
As the night rolls on, Tiana and Charlotte come to the stage
"Hello everyone, I am the manager of the Spring Formal committee Tiana"
"And I'm the assistant manager of the Spring Formal committee, Charlotte"
Tiana resumes speaking
"First off, how is everybody liking the event so far?"
Everybody cheers, Charlotte takes over
"Well, I take that as a 'Yes!', from all over you, this wouldn't be possible without the other members of the committee, so can we give some applause to them"
Everybody claps as Belle, Ariel, Eric, Mulan, and Hercules make their way to the stage, Tiana speaks
"Without their help, this wouldn't be possible, and I am really thankful for them helping get us the approval and supporting this huge project"
Charlotte takes over
"Okay, now it is time for the moment that you have been waiting for, you may these people as Flynn, Aladdin, Phoebus, Quasimodo, and Esmeralda"
Back to Tiana
"But for the next few minutes, you're going to know them as Pacifica's Rose"
The crowd claps and cheers and Esmeralda goes into the microphone stand and cues Flynn to play she starts

I can't believe this could be the end
Flynn joins in
Esmeralda and Flynn
It looks as though you're letting go

And then everybody comes in for background vocals so as the rest of the instruments

The crowd is getting really into it and Esmeralda looks at Pocahontas and Megara having a good time. It makes her smile and she gets back to singing
Esmeralda
It's all ending
I gotta stop pretending who we are
Phoebus then hits his guitar solo and Esmeralda decides to dance, everybody gets memorized, including Phoebus just watching her, barefoot, without a care in the world, but he gets himself focused to finish the solo and Esmeralda gets back on the microphone, so does everybody with the background vocals

And it ends and everybody is clapping and cheering they all look back at each other with smiles and Esmeralda comes to the microphone and says
"You think that's all…this is only the beginning"
First song done, what will the band sing next? Will there be more encounters between Pocahontas and John, and how does tonight's performance affect the relationship between Esmeralda and Phoebus?...
