I am in the mess hall eating lucky charms cereal. Angie comes up.
"Okay girls, I hope you are feeling creative because we're doing arts and crafts!" She announces. I smile.
We're in the art yurt.
"Okay girls, you can use this time however you want! I expect to see some clever creations!" Angie announces.
A brown pom pom horse appears in my head. I visualize. I grab seven toothpicks, twelve brown pom poms, two googlie eyes, a glue bottle and some black string. I stab two pom poms on a toothpick. I do that again. I glue that toothpick on top and in front of the other toothpick. I break a toothpick in half. I stab a pom pom on that. I glue that toothpick on the side of the other toothpick. I stab two pom poms on a toothpick. I glue that toothpick behind the other toothpick. I stab two pom poms on a toothpick. I glue that toothpick on the other side of the base toothpick. I stab two pom poms on a toothpick. I glue that toothpick behind the other toothpick. I glue the googlie eyes on the head. I glue some string on the neck and rear.
Esmeralda grabs a pink hoop, string, and three feathers. She ties some string vertically on the hoop. She ties some string horizontally on the hoop. She ties some string diagonally left on the hoop. She ties some string diagonally right on the hoop. She ties three pieces of string hanging off the hoop. She ties feathers at the ends of the string.
"Here you go!" She tells me as she holds the dreamcatcher out in front of me.
"Thank you!" I reply.
Kida grabs some white string and three blue crystals. She ties the crystals in the middle of the string.
Mirabelle grabs four coffee filters, a green marker, and a black stapler. She stacks the coffee filters on top of each other. She takes the cap of the marker. She colors the coffee filters. She sorts the coffee filters in the shape of a butterfly. She staples the coffee filters together.
Mei Mei grabs ten red pom poms, two white pom poms, two googlie eyes, five toothpicks, some red construction paper, some white construction paper, glue, and a black maker. She stabs four red pom poms on a toothpick. She stabs a red pom pom on a toothpick. She glues that on the top left of the base toothpick. She stabs a red pom pom on a toothpick. She glues that on the top right of the base toothpick. She stabs a red pom pom on a toothpick. She glues that on the bottom left of the base toothpick. She stabs a red pom pom on a toothpick. She glues that on the bottom right of the base toothpick. She stabs a red pom pom on a toothpick. She stabs a white pom pom on a toothpick. She stabs a red pom pom on a toothpick. She stabs a white pom pom on a toothpick. She glues that on the lower behind of the base toothpick. She glues the googlie eyes on the first pom pom. She cuts two tiny triangles out of the red construction paper. She cuts two tiny triangles out of the white construction paper. She glues the red triangles on the white triangles.
"Okay girls, can you show each other what you made?" Angie questions.
"I made a pom pom horse!" I announce as I hold it up.
"I made a dreamcatcher! I I gave it to Arianna!" Esmeralda announces.
"I made a crystal necklace!" Kida announces as she holds it up.
"I made a coffee filter butterfly!" Mirabelle announces as she holds it up.
"I made a pom pom red panda!" Mei Mei announces as she holds it up.
