TRANSYLVANIA, ROMANIA, 1922 I EARTH 1228
The time door opened on the universe in the dead of night, near a town. Out of it stepped Sam, Scott, Thor, Hunter B-15, Kamala, Cyclops and Logan (who Deadpool got bored of following around due to a lacking paycheck in the film).
"You sure he's here?" asked Scott.
"Positive," replied B-15 cautiously, holding her pruning rod in a defensive position.
Scott leaned near Thor.
"So why the hell did you side with Kang?"
"Did I not tell you? He gave a convincing story! Besides. His life didn't seem all death and doom. Perhaps I wanted to see the best of him."
As the group walked, they couldnt shake the feeling of being followed.
"Still I wonder where Loki is, or how he saved Love, if he did," said Thor to no one in particular, perhaps trying to start conversation.
Sam walked near the front of the group next to B-15, giving a protective glance around.
"You won't find him!"
The group all turned to see where the voice had come from.
A thin, pale man in a black suit walked towards them, and he wore a black cloak.
"Who the hell are you?" asked Thor.
"Mark Dolbkus. Private relations. I'm looking for, well, a dangerous rogue. A black man with a severe motive."
"And what's the name of this guy?" asked Cyclops suspiciously.
"He's got many names around here. But they call him Blade. His sword pierces the flesh of many. He's the man who sees a bigger picture... and repaints it. He i-"
"Enough euphemisms, we get it!" interrupted Logan.
"We've got a common goal, why not help each other?" asked Kamala.
Mark gave a smug look.
"Smart kid."
All around, the ground quaked a little.
"The hell is this?" asked Ben in a panicked tone.
"Time bombs!" exclaimed Rama Tut.
"In an hour they'll go off, and we'll die with the timelines!"
"Not if we do something about it!" exclaimed Reed, thinking of a way to counter the bombs.
Strange shook his head slightly as the earthquake died down.
"Wait! What does every universe have?"
"Uh, a Kang?" answered Johhny, unsure of himself.
"No. Me!"
"What are you talking about?" asked Sue.
"Think of this," began Strange. "In another universe, your variant told me of incursions. And that I was the greatest threat to the multiverse. What if he's right? My existence in every universe is a bomb."
"What's giving you that impression?" asked Reed.
"...All my variants have caused incursions. Even I've caused a few. The only way to stop these incursions is if we kill all of me, or we cast a large, elaborate spell. A spell that is a multiverse-wide is too far for me."
"Why not have your variants help you?" asked Marc.
"Cause not all of me are so pure, moon child."
Mark led the group past a church, and towards a tavern.
"We nearly there?" asked Sam.
Mark stopped and sniffed loudly.
"Ohhh yes. We're nearly there. He'll never see us coming."
The group looked at each other, somewhat uneasily.
Eight more men came up.
"Well, we have some company," Mark said to them.
"Come. Just this way."
Mark and his cronies all walked down an alley, followed by the group.
"This is starting to get freaky," Scott whispered to Sam.
"He's here somewhere, and we'll need to split up to find him," said Mark.
They all reluctantly split, Sam going with Mark.
Mark turned to Sam, licking his lips.
"...You good?"
With the speed of lightning, Mark leapt onto Sam, holding him against a building and choking him.
"Here... no one can hear you scream," said Mark, revealing his sharp teeth.
Sam couldn't move. Mark's grip was tighter than iron. He couldn't scream; Mark made sure of that.
As he ducked his head lower to Sam's neck, a figure grabbed Mark from behind, throwing him against a lamp post.
It was a black man in a black trench coat. He swung his sword and held it in a defensive position.
Mark hissed and leapt at the man, but he was cut short, both figuratively and literally.
The man swung his blade in time, cutting the beast through the middle.
As the body thudded, Sam looked in amazement.
"Who the hell are you?" he asked in a hoarse tone.
"I got a lot of names 'round here. They call me Blade. Now's no good time to talk, we've gotta save your pals."
