"WHAT?! BEN IS THE CURRENT GUILD MASTER!"
The Tenrou Island group was surprised when they heard that. But when they thought about Ben's capabilities and compared it to the others, it made sense for them to choose Ben to be the guild master.
They all talk about what happened over the last 3 years. Ben led Makarov and Mavis away because he wanted to discuss something else. He took them to the underground room to show them something.
"This is the Anima room. I studied the Anima that I obtained from Mystogan in Edolas and applied it here. All these small magic rune formations are the modified Animas. They take Ethernano from a parallel universe with an abundance with Ethernano."
"I've also set up rune formations on the guild hall and throughout Magnolia to keep the Ethernano that we take here. We also didn't waste the excess Ethernano. The device in the middle collects the excess Ethernano and creates lacrima crystals with it." Ben explained.
"No wonder the atmosphere in the town and guild feels different. In only 3 years, you managed to achieve things I could never dream of. It seems I'm too old for this job." Makarov sighed.
Mavis looked around curiously while inspecting the Anima. "Such complex rune formations. I can't fully understand them. Truly amazing."
Makarov was surprised when he heard that Mavis can't understand Ben's Anima. She had vast knowledge of magic letters and runes so it's very surprising that she can't understand some rune formations.
Well, Ben and A.I Chip made the Anima's rune formation very complex so no one else can steal it. There are fake runes inserted into the formation which don't have any function. Their sole purpose was to confuse and fool others.
It seems they're even able to fool Mavis, an expert in this field. These fakes look like the real thing because they connect to the formation and seem to have a function. The runes also overlapped with each other, making the formation even more difficult to decipher.
"How can the runes overlap with each other but still work? It should be impossible because their functions will also overlap, so they won't work as they should be." Mavis said with eyes full of amazement.
Mavis looked at Ben with sparkling eyes, causing him to take a step back. "I'll teach you about it later. For now, I want to show you something else."
Ben went to the inner wall and touched it before having his magic power flow into it. Suddenly, circling lines that formed into something like a maze glow on the wall. Then a door appeared on the wall and it opened.
Makarov was speechless while Mavis was even more amazed. They pass through the door with Ben carrying the stunned Makarov. This is the room where Mavis's body which is encased in a crystal is located.
"So you really know about this place. I've had a hunch since you recognized the First Master. But how did you find this place?" Makarov asked.
"I found it by coincidence when I inspected the guild hall. I felt an empty space with a lot of Ethernano coming from it. Then I found the old door but I couldn't open it. So I teleported and that worked. That's why I replaced the defense system of this room so now even teleportation can't be used to enter it. But Master, what's all this?" Ben asked him.
Makarov thought about it for a moment before asking, "What do you know about all of this?"
"Other than the fact that this is the First Master's body and it's top secret, not much." Ben answered.
"Alright, I will explain it to you because you are the guild master now, so you have the right to know." Makarov said.
"No, I will tell him." Mavis intervened.
Without waiting for a response, she started to talk. "This object is called Fairy Heart, also known as Lumen Historie. It is a source of infinite Magic Power, stemming from a combination of residual magic power left in my body due to Ankhsheram's Curse and decades of failed experiments by Precht in an attempt to resurrect me."
Ben was surprised when she mentioned Ankhsheram's Curse. He knew what it was and how someone could obtain that curse.
"Did you learn the Black Arts?" Ben asked.
"Yes. I tried to resurrect a deceased friend and received the curse for that reason." Mavis nodded.
"So that's why you're a spirit. Ankhsheram's curse gives people immortality. But being separated from your body means you're dead, right? Precht tried to resurrect you." Ben said.
"I don't want to go into detail, but it happened." Mavis replied.
Ben knew that she didn't want to discuss it any more so he doesn't pursue the matter further.
Makarov then continues, "I don't want to say this in front of the First Master, but you need to know about this. Lumen Historie is Fairy Tail's 'strongest weapon' and those who know about it will try to get their hands on it."
"Ah, because it has infinite magic power." Ben stated.
"That's right. One such person is my son and Laxus' father, Ivan Dreyar. He wants to use Lumen Historie as a weapon." Makarov said.
"But why didn't he attack us to take it?" Ben asked.
"He doesn't know where it is, he just knows it exists. From what I know, he is still amassing power to take Lumen Historie from us." Makarov answered.
He continued explaining about his son who established a guild, Raven Tail. Ben was surprised to hear Makarov had a spy infiltrate the guild. Gajeel was the one Makarov sent as a double agent.
Having Gajeel as a double agent is a good idea because he was a former member of Phantom Lord. He attacked and was defeated by Fairy Tail. So he was bound to have some resentment towards Fairy Tail.
Ivan saw that as an opportunity and used it to his advantage but Makarov knew Ivan would make that move and used it against him. Having a double agent is risky but Ben trusted Makarov's judgment and left this matter to him.
"Wow, you are smarter than I thought." Ben said before Makarov punched him with a giant hand out of annoyance.
Ben crashed into the wall but came back over to him immediately without any sign of injury. "Well, you can't blame for thinking like that. After the Tenrou Island incident, I found some spies in our guild. I rooted them out and kept making sure there aren't any spies to this day."
"I let them in on purpose. They were fed by fake or superficial information." Makarov informed him.
"Oh, that was a good strategy. Wisdom really does come with age." Ben said.
"It is, but young people always have fresh ideas that old people like me never think of. The guild's development in the last 3 years is all thanks to you. It must be very difficult, but you have led everyone to reach new heights. You are a great guild master, Ben." Makarov said with a smile.
"Of course I am." Ben said nodding arrogantly.
Makarov sweat dropped while Mavis giggled and nodded too. They talk some more about the guild's development and Ben's vision for their future. The 2 old masters gave him advice regarding his ideas and their talk became a discussion in an instant.
