Ch 5
When the Guardians entered, Peter hacked the organic camera eye so the Orgo Sentries would only see an empty room.
However, the Sentries saw the thing on camera. They thought it was a glitch but sent Karja get the Sentries to the hangar to check it out just to be sure.
"Hurry." Mantis said.
"Where do we put these?" Peter asked as he furiously tried to get his space suit off.
Mantis frantically searched until she found a white container pod.
"Hide them in this locker until we leave."
The Guardians finally finished removing the space suits and one by one hastily shoved them into the pod right as the door opened.
Shit. Peter thought. Gotta come up with something.
Then he looked at the hole that they had made.
Oh, yeah.
Now he could find a way to get them out of this like he always did.
"A neutral quark just hit the satelite. It's burning a hole through the wall. You geniuses, you just throw the door open without any proper precautionary procedure?"
"What procedure, bro?" Karja snapped.
"Oh, you want us to read the manual for you two, bros?" Mantis snarked.
"You could have killed everyone in the wing." Peter added with the frustrated voice a proper manager would use whenever one of his workers slipped up.
Even if they weren't one of them, they couldn't help but just wonder why would a company employ guards with just utter stupidity.
"Exactly, idiots." Drax said. "I mean, can't you see these authentic mechanic uniforms that we're wearing on our bodies? That blend in with some of ou skin tones better than others?"
Great, way to blow our cover, IDIOT. Peter groaned internally as the other Guardians face-palmed. Every, single, time!
"Excuse my friend." Peter said after a full minute of awkard silence.
"Oh yeah, I got one of those, too." Karja replied, glancing at one of his men. "Everything he does drives me crazy. How did you guys get here so fast?"
"To be honest with you, we just happened in before it burned all the way through, thankfully." Peter replied, doing his best impression of a normal voice.
They were definitely not a group of space heroes infiltrating some intergalactic company's headquarters to save their friend who was on the brink.
No siree.
"Ah." Karja nodded. "Good thing you were here. Alright boys, wrap it up."
Finally. Peter thought as the OrgoCorp Sentries lumbered out.
He felt like he needed to take a shower after that.
