At roughly the same time in another universe, the Tech Men were in their warehouse fixing to start up their teleporter to free Kane from Rook Tower. They had their machine hooked up to a direct line to Charter City's power grid. It was a bit risky since the machine risked drawing a lot of power from the grid, which could draw the attention of both the Flex Fighters and Rook and his security forces, but the Tech Men were willing to risk it to get their leader back. The machine was started up and it began to draw power from the grid. A Tech Man manning the computer console was prepared to type in Kane's location, when the screen began to go haywire. He typed onto the computer to try and fix it, but nothing was working.

"What's going on?" Demanded Number 2.

"Some kind of malfunction! The machine is receiving something, but I didn't input any commands! I can't stop it!" Yelled the Tech Man.

"Everyone stay back!" Yelled Number 6 as a flash of light burst from the machine and blinded everyone.

The light cleared to reveal Spider-Man, Doc Ock, Tinkerer, Electro, Mysterio, Vulture, Kraven, Rhino, Hammerhead, Shocker, Ox, and Ricochet. The Tech Men stared at Spider-Man and the collection of villains for several seconds and they stared back at them. Finally Number 6 recovered from the shock and gave orders to the other Tech Men.

"Destroy the intruders, but do not harm the machine!"

The Tech Men pointed their blasters at the group and began firing. Spider-Man dodged around as the villains either found cover or fought the Tech Men with their own tech and skills.

"Hey come on guys! I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! I'm the good guy!" Called Spider-Man to the Tech Men shooting at him.

The Tech Men seemed like they didn't care and just kept shooting at Spider-Man, who dodged the shoots and webbed the Tech Men up.

"No respect. Just what did I get myself tangled up now?" Thought Spider-Man as the fighting raged on.

To be continued.
