"Happy Birthday Queen Bee!" Cat Noir practically purred, "May your day be buzzing with joy and happiness!"
"Thank you." Queen Bee sighed, "Maybe without the added puns?"
"It's Queen Bee's birthday today?" Ladybug looked back and forth between the two of them; she and Cat Noir had never shared with each other when their birthdays were, even after all this time, just in case it could lead to an identity reveal.
Of course, Ladybug knew Rena's birthday, but she had never anticipated wishing her a happy birthday while on patrol before.
"Yeah." Cat Noir smiled, before turning his attention back to the birthday bee in question, "I even got you a card."
"Don't tell me it says the same thing, A-Cat Noir." Queen Bee sighed; sometimes shared identities were a handful, especially when despite all of the puns, he still very much seemed like Adrien Agreste to her right now or perhaps because of the puns or something gleeful hidden in the green pools of his eyes.
"Maybe." He shrugged, and when she pulled it out of the envelope, it was lavishly designed and even felt like a card made just for her. The sudden show of affection of whoever had made the card warmed Chloe's heart, as she knew Cat Noir would not custom order a card for her, but was not opposed to stumbling upon a card that already seemed like the perfect gift for her.
How long had he been planning this for her birthday? Just the fact that it said Queen Bee on the front of the card had left her in awe.
"Thank you." She murmured, as she carefully opened up the card to find the pun filled inside and to see Cat Noir's signature on the page, a cute little pawprint. Queen Bee chose not to mention that before his signature was the simple word, Love.
"You're welcome." He smiled up at her, bright enough to be shining a light for all of Paris to see despite his dark suit.
Queen Bee only paused to think through what she was about to do for a mili-second, and then she was hugging him, pulling him towards her and holding him tight. Really, Adrien is an absolute sweetheart and even though there were more puns in a card than Queen Bee particularly liked to see, she loved the gesture so much. Chloe loves Adrien, first and foremost, as her best friend that made even the most dull days feel worthwhile to walk through, and the one that always encouraged her to be the best possible version of herself. And while she knew that deep down, she'd also fallen in love with the boy that shone like the sun around those he really does love and that has always been kinder than she could imagine a person to be.
Right now, gratitude wells up in her like a giant flood and love just pours forth from her. Cat Noir didn't need to get Queen Bee a card, like Adrien didn't need to show up at Chloe's earlier in the day, bringing gifts, a different card, and ready to celebrate a birthday party with just the two of them.
He was truly the best friend a girl could ask for, and ultimately, had easily become the love of her life without needing to try to become so, just by being himself, he'd won her over. Queen Bee just hoped that she wasn't crying enough for the whole patrol team to see her.
