Chapter 4.

Here it is! Chapter 4! Hope you enjoy it. I don't own any characters except Mark.

Btw, when Kevin called Rocket a "Raccoon", and the way Rocket reacted, I thought, (that in all the time, and the way he's acted following "Volume 2", ("Infinity War, Endgame")) "I thought he'd grown out of that!".

An hour or later, on the Bowie, in space…

Mark stood in between Kevin and Drax, slightly behind where Kevin sat, the majority of the Bowie's cockpit filled with Christmas merchandise they 'took' from the shop. They were intending to use the merchandise to help with the celebration. "Are you friends with the Fonz?" Mantis (who was at the controls) then asked Kevin. "Who?" Kevin asked, looking at her. "The Fonz. He's a hero, like you. Have the two of you ever had a team up?" Mantis explained/asked, Mark realising they were talking about his films. He knew that it was only a matter of time before they learned the truth. "Oh. Well, the Fonz's real name is Henry Winkler. And yeah, I do know him. He's a very nice guy." Kevin explained. "Would you consider grabbing dinner, like, one time a team up?" Mantis then asked. "No. Eating together is not a team up." Kevin replied. "Tell us, what was it like when you had to save a small town by dancing like an idiot?" Drax then asked. "Oh. Well, that wasn't me. That was a character I played, Ren McCormack, in the movie, Footloose." Kevin answered, Mark now thinking the truth would be out sooner or later. "What?" Drax asked. "What about when you fought and defeated the super strong masked killer Jason Voorhes in the woods?" Mantis then asked. "Yeah." Drax added. "Nope. Again, not me. Just a character I played. And he didn't actually kill Jason. He got stabbed through the neck with an arrow." Kevin answered, then laughed.

Mark then decided enough was enough and just come out with it. "Uh, guys, there's something you should know. Whenever Quill talked about him, he forgot one tiny little detail." Mark said hopefully, wincing and holding up his right paw and holding his thump paw and index paw close to each other when he said 'tiny little detail'. Mantis then gasped. "He's an actor! He's never actually saved anyone." Mantis said in realisation. "But actors are repugnant." Drax replied. "I know." Mantis spoke before she started make retching and groaning sounds. "They make me feel so gross and creepy when they pretend to be someone else." She added, Marrk glad it was out, but felt they were overreacting. "No. Acting is a wonderful profession. I mean, you don't get to live one life, you get to live so many others." Kevin spoke with a chuckle. "We got Quill the worst present ever. A disgusting actor!" Drax groaned. "This s the worst day of my life!" Mantis moaned. "Okay, definitely overreacting." Mark thought in his head. "We ruined Christmas worse than Yondu." Drax added. "Guys, Peter was just a child when he left Earth. His knowledge of how the world works was limited." Mark spoke, hoping to calm them down. Mantis then placed her right hand on Kevin's left leg, clearly going to use her powers. "Kevin Bacon, you have to pretend you're an actual hero, or else Christmas is doomed." She spoke, Mark staring at them with worry. Kevin then looked in no certain direction. "Blimey, mate." He said, doing a British accent, Mark raising an eyebrow. "I can't wait to storm them Nazis on the beach." Kevin added. "What are you doing?" Mantis asked, confused. "I'm a hero, ain't I then? I'm a private in the British Army during World War 2." Kevin answered. "What made him think of that?" Mark thought in his head again. "No. Just your regular voice." Mantis said to him. "Oh. Okay." Kevin spoke in his normal accent. "Yeah, sure, fine. Hello. I'm the Batman. I mean, hello. I'm Bruce Wayne." Kevin spoke. "Seriously?" Mark asked rhetorically. "Yes. Yes, I am." Kevin replied, looking over his right shoulder at Mark. "That was rhetorical." Mark said back slightly sternly. "Who's Bruce Wayne?" Drax then asked. "Mantis, you've gotta be more specific." Mark said, looking at Mantis. "No! Don't be someone else. Be Kevin Bacon, but, like, if he didn't suck!" Mantis explained loudly/frantically, which made Kevin laugh. "That's something. How weird. Cause, like, normally, it would really piss me off, but I don't know. Right now, for some reason, I just feel really great about it all." Kevin spoke, looking upwards then looked behind, looking at the rest of the cockpit. "We hate you." Drax muttered.

A few hours later, back on Knowhere…

Mark, Drax, and Mantis rounded up the rest of the Guardians, and most of the locals and got them to arrange all the decorations they'd taken, to make a festive environment. With all the arrangements in place, Groot went to find Peter, got him aroused, and moving in the area. Mark, hiding behind some crates, saw him, then pressed a button on the remote he held in his left paw-hand, Christmas music began playing, and on schedule, Drax cued the first set of lights, which made Quill look around. After a few seconds, Mark looked leftwards/upwards to see a bored Nebula pull the lever next to her, setting off the fake sow they had. For the first time in years, Mark felt a little festive and happy, especially with the nice song playing. He could tell Quill was feeling the way, as he stepped out of the crates and followed him quietly, Kraglin cueing the rest of the lights on schedule. Quill put his hands on his head, which Mark, despite having helped assemble it, found beautiful. "Are you kidding me?" He heard Quill ask in wonder. Mantis then stepped out, while Mark placed the red Santa's hat he had on the top of Dog head, his ears fitting through it. "Merry Christmas, Peter. From me, and Drax, Mark, and, you know…" Mantis spoke happily, before being unsure of her words, so Mark stepped up, went past Quill's left, then got on Mantis's left, facing Quill. "From all of us!" He added happily, holding out his right arm, pointing at the first people came out of hiding into the area. Mark, still smiling, went to Quill's front left (his body facing forwards), as Quill patted Drax, then looked at Mark, and patted the back of hid Dog-head with his left hand. Mark then turned his body leftwards, then looked upwards and held up his right arm, pointing at where Rocket was, who switched on a lamp, then pointed it at a certain spot. Kraglin, with tinsel around his neck, pointed at the spot, which Quill looked at. "Oh, you guys." Quill spoke, everyone now seeing Groot wheeling out the large box wrapped in red and white wrapping paper, with a sign saying "for Peter". Mark turned rightwards and followed Quill and Mantis. "What did you do?" Peter asked happily, then walked towards the gift in silence, before the box then started moving. Mark's smile then faded. "Guys, I'm about to pass out. There's, uh, no air in here." Kevin's voice came from with in box. Quill looked over his right shoulder at Mantis and Mark, who just stood still, Mark narrowing his eyes and tensing/pulling up his shoulders nervously. Then he went over to the box, unwrapped the front of the wrapping paper, and pulled open the side, Kevin stepping out. "Ta-da!" He cried with his arms outstretched. "You must be pete. Merry Christmas!" Kevin added. Quill just stood in silence.

"It's Kevin Bacon. He's not a loser, he's great. We don't hate him at all." Drax spoke. Silence filled the area for a few seconds, before Quill looked over his right shoulder. "What'd you do?" He asked, his voice tense. "What?" Mantis asked, confused. "WHAT DID YOU DO?!" Quill asked louder and more aggressive. "We got you Kevin Bacon as a present." Mantis answered, Mark staying still and silent. "You got me a Human being as a present?" Quill asked incredulously. "Well, he was your favourite actor when you were a kid, you've talked about him a lot over the years, and you've been so sad lately, so I thought you'd be happy to meet him." Mark spoke, hoping to calm him down. "What better gift for the guy who has everything than an actual Human living person?" Rocket asked with a laugh, holding out his left hand, as if he was seeing it as a joke. "This isn't a Christmas gift! This is… this is Human trafficking!" Quill yelled out, pointing at Kevin with his right hand. Then he looked rightwards/downwards at Mark. "And Mark! You helped them do this? I thought you were better than that!" Quill yelled at him, in disbelief. Mark looked downwards at the ground slightly. "It was mostly Drax's idea." Mantis spoke. "It was." Drax replied. "And I just went along to keep an eye on them." Mark added, still looking downwards with a hint of sadness or regret in his voice. "Hey, Pete, I got to stick up to these guys. Because, tell you the truth, I'm totally stocked about the whole thing, man." Kevin spoke, holding his hands/arms out. Quill turned his body slightly rightwards at Mantis, as Mark looked upwards/slightly leftwards at the issue again. "You used your powers on him, didn't you?" He asked. "Maybe, I can't remember…" Mantis answered. "GET KEVIN BACON OUT OF THE TRANCE NOW!" Quill snapped at her.

Mantis then stepped up to Kevin, and placed her right hand on Kevin's neck. "Just be what you really are." She spoke, using her powers again. "He is gonna freak out, isn't he?" Mark asked rhetorically in his head as Mantis removed her hand and stepped away, Kevin looking around, to then right, with a confused expression, and then, screamed. Then he looked leftwards, then rightwards, and them screamed again. "Dude, calm down. We're not gonna hurt you." Rocket, which made Kevin look down at him. "That's a talking Raccoon." Kevin spoke, pointing at him with his right index finger, and in that instant, Mark then this has just gotten worse. For in that instant, Rocket leaped up at him, but luckily Groot grabbed him. Kevin moved to the side, while Quill grabbed him. "I'll kill you! Don't ever call me that!" Rocket snapped, as Nebula pulled out her gun and pointed it at Kevin's face. Mark face palmed at this. "Whoa!" He heard Quill yell out, then moved his left paw away from his eyes, seeing Quill trying to calm a panicking Kevin down. "Kraglin. Prepare the Bowie for his transport back to Earth. And Mark, you're going with them." Quill ordered, while looking at Kevin. "What?" Mark asked, confused. "So you can keep an eye on them." Quill said harsly to Mark, using his own words against him. "Aye, Captain." Kraglin replied, Mark looking at him to see him remove the tinsel around his neck and walk away. "Mr Bacon, I 'am so sorry. This is really embarrassing. I know you're worried sick, and your family is too. We're gonna get you back home." Quill to Kevin calmly. "I am Groot." Groot said, saying he thinks it was a bad idea all along. "Oh, suddenly, you think this was a bad idea all along." Quill asked him sarcastically, Mark turning his head leftwards to face him. "I am Groot." Groot said again, saying yes. "That's rich, coming from the one who just wheeled him out in front of everybody." Mark said to him, Groot then having an unsure look on his face. Mark and Quill looked at Kevin again. "Gonna let you go, Kevin Bacon. Don't run. You're not gonna run." Quill spoke softly, Mark knowing that he was going to. "No. No, no." Kevin muttered, before Quill removed his hands off him. A second later, Kevin then ran off with a yell. "Somebody go get Kevin Bacon." Quill ordered. Mark then looked rightwards to see Nebula pull out her gun. "I've got him." Nebula spoke in a threatening tone, before she turned rightwards and walked away, followed by Drax and Mantis. "No. Don't kill him." Quill said back at her. "You can't outrun me, Bacon!" He and Mark heard Nebula yell out. Mark rolled his eyes.

And that's it for the fourth chapter! Sorry if it's a bit short, I originally planned to do more, but I couldn't be bothered. Not sure the next chapter is out, so please be patient. Feel free to do a review.
