When Saphira was fully dressed and ready, she saw that it was fifteen minutes until nine and she smiled to herself, glad that it was that time. She put on some sandals before she grabbed her flashlight to shine it through the door. She could see the stairs ahead of her, and she walked towards the walk up them to the wall. She knew the door had to be pulled, and she saw that there was a lever, so she turned it and she heard the door clicking and she pulled it open easily. She smiled as she was relieved at how easy it was. So she quickly got out of the storage closet and made sure the door was closed before she made her way to the office. Her stomach growled hungrily, and she knew she would just have to wait to use the kitchen.
She checked through the cameras casually, finding the animatronics in the usual areas, and they were also focused on their job. Especially since tonight seemed to be busy. Springtrap was in one of the rooms in the Haunted Classroom, though he was alone currently and he seemed to be thinking about something. She could tell based upon his expression. She knew he probably would get time to think since he didn't get the same attention as the others.
Saphira did change the camera view to the stage Phantom stage as her mind thought about what was hiding under the stage. Saphira had not wanted to check, but she now wanted to. It could be very important and if she chose to ignore it, it could end up being a very bad thing. But opening it may also be bad. Saphira's nightmare might have scared her, but she knew that shouldn't let it get to her and believe that it might happen. If she did, she would only be letting Afton win.
It was super frustrating, but Saphira had already decided that she would not see what was beneath the stage. She wanted to celebrate her graduation, and she knew she was going to have to convince the animatronics to have a party, and she doubted that she was going to have to try too hard to do that. She smiled to herself as she remembered dancing with the animatronics as a child. It was always so much fun. And she knew it would be fun again, especially since there would be no acting from the animatronics.
Saphira ignored the surprised looks she would get from the other employees as they weren't expecting to see her wearing casual clothing. But none of them said anything to her as they slowly leave the building. She wouldn't have listened to them if they did say something. After all, she would be told directly by Mike or Afton if they were not happy with her outfits. But Saphira doubted either would care, so long as she continued to take part of this twisted game.
Saphira eagerly waited until all the other employees, and they were soon all gone by ten-thirty, which was earlier than she expected. And she was up on her feet as soon as they were gone. She decided to check the doors quickly because was she very hungry, and wanted to make herself some food before she would want to do any kind of partying. And she would also make a better plan on having snacks in her room to eat when she wasn't out in the main pizzeria.
When she entered the loading docks, Saphira could not help but glance at the spots where she had seen the dead animatronics in her nightmare, and the dying Fredbear as well. She shivered as that was not something she liked to think of, and she checked the side door quickly before she made her way towards the kitchen. She knew she would be tempted to start making something right now, but she wanted to get her first job out of the way first, even though she knew she didn't necessarily care about trespassers much anymore. She only cared when she saw them being killed in front of her. That still bothered her.
Once she entered the kitchen and she walked over to the side door, she hummed softly to herself happily as she checked it and turned to make her way to the main dining room. She forced herself to ignore the fact, in her nightmare, Bonnie died here. And she didn't want to think about that at all. She was doing her hardest to keep up an upbeat attitude right now, as she knew she really was in the middle of either being super excited or having a breakdown. The events of the day before certainly was not helping at all.
When she entered the dining hall, she made a beeline for the front door as she walked by the stage. "Saphira? You're not wearing your security clothes." She ignored Freddy's surprised comment as she made for the doors. "Oh…come on, Saphira, I didn't mean it in a mean way. It's good, actually. And I guess no one really cares what you wear, I just thought out loud." She glanced over her shoulder and smiled as she saw him getting off the stage with Bonnie and Chica. "I guess you are still a bit upset from yesterday. I can understand."
"She might be, but I also know she might not have had a good night. I overheard Springtrap say he thought he heard Saphira screaming his name." Saphira tensed as she heard Bonnie confirm that her screams had been1 heard by one of the animatronics. Bonnie walked towards her as she checked the front and she turned, only to jump as he was almost right behind her when he approached her. "It's okay, Saphira. I'm going to guess you had a nightmare, which was why he heard your screaming since it was obviously about him. You don't have to tell us if you don't want to, but just remember we are here for you."
She smiled at him gratefully and she hugged him. She felt his arms around her back as he held her gently against him. "Thanks, Bonnie. You are right, it was a nightmare. But I am not going to focus on it, so I can have a better night than yesterday. But I have some good news." She stepped back from Bonnie and walked over to Freddy. "How do you feel about a party?" Freddy gave her a surprised expression as he was instantly curious as the why she would want a party. "I got my results back today, and I've graduated with a high score."
"You did?" Freddy instantly smiled at her. "That's wonderful. Now I understand why you want to celebrate. And I am all for it too." He let out a light chuckle and looked at Bonnie. "What do you think, Bonnie? We should if she feels that it is worthy enough to celebrate. From what I understand, graduating is kind of like a big thing for humans. But their…high school prom or something, is like a right of passage, but I don't know."
Saphira giggled at Freddy's interpretation of proms and graduations as it was hilarious. "Sadly, I'll never get to experience a high school prom, because I was home schooled. But a graduation party is certainly something we can do. And I can see it being a lot more fun, since you guys are here. It's actually surreal…" Saphira's smile softened and she looked at Bonnie. "Do you remember the first day I came to the pizzeria after my first day at kindergarten?" Bonnie was a little surprised by her question and he thought about it for a moment before he smiled and nodded. "It's actually crazy to think that…while we missed ten years, you were with me when I first started kindergarten, and now I've graduated today…and I'll be entering my first year as a young adult next year…it's crazy to think."
"It really is. I think that's an even bigger reason to celebrate," Bonnie said with a light chuckle. "You know what? I think that settles the debate. We are going to have a party. Just go and check the chapel and we can start the party."
"I actually want to make myself something to eat before, unless…if Chica wants to help, we could make enough for everyone to enjoy. We can't have a party without pizza, cake and other finger food." Saphira saw the animatronics were smiling and agreeing. "I guess this means we can fire up the kitchen. I have the right to use it since I live here now."
"Funny enough, we actually received a truckload of additional food that was not ordered by the kitchen staff. But it was ordered by Mike, that's what I overheard anyway," Chica said as she walked over with a smile. "I think we should definitely do that. I will also summon Toy Chica, Golden Bonnie, Toy Bonnie, Phantom Chica and Nightmare Chica to help in the kitchen. We will need more than a few hands to make the food required."
"I really missed out on a conversation." Saphira smiled as she saw Springtrap walking into the room. Springtrap could see the excitement, and it made him curious. "Why are we making a lot of food?"
"To celebrate Saphira's official graduation from high school," Bonnie responded happily, lifting his hand to ruffle Saphira's hair playfully, making her giggle. "And we intend on giving her the graduation party she deserves. What do you think, Springtrap?"
Springtrap smiled as he listened and he nodded. "I think that's wonderful." He looked at Saphira, glancing over her whole body, making her blush as she knew he was admiring her chosen outfit and hairstyle. "You look nice tonight, Saphira. I see you are going to be treating this place as home now as opposed to work. I am happy that you feel comfortable enough to do that."
"Yeah, well, I highly doubt anyone will have an issue with it, so I think it will be totally fine." Saphira walked around Springtrap and her turned to follow her. "I'm just going to check the door at the bar in the Love Chapel, and I will be back to help in the kitchen."
"I know, I just want to come with you," Springtrap said, reaching his hand to take hers gently, making her glance down for a moment and look at him in surprise. "I know you thoroughly enjoy my presence, Saphira. Plus, I have something to ask of you."
Saphira knew it was likely about her screaming earlier, but she figured she didn't need to mention it. "Sure. I don't mind your company at all." She and Springtrap walk to the door and she opened it to step into the hallway. "I am feeling a bit better today as well, Springtrap. What my mother told me yesterday is still replaying in my mind. It still hurts, but not like it did yesterday."
"That is good to know. I was worried. I hope you won't mind, but I stayed with you for as long as I could in that dark room." She looked at him in surprise as she thought he would have left sometime after she fell asleep. "I worried Afton would do something…but I know it wouldn't have mattered given that I had to leave so the other employees wouldn't have gotten suspicious. I hate that I still have to pretend to be an actual robot."
Saphira did not know how to feel knowing Springtrap had remained in the room while she slept. She knew he must have placed her in the bed when she fell asleep, which was fine. But she didn't expect him to remain. She felt herself blush and she looked away from him. "Um…I don't mind at all. I guess it is not something I would have expected though. But I appreciate that you felt like you had to be protective, Springtrap. I really do."
Springtrap smiled at her while noticing her reaction about him being in the same room as her while she slept. "And did you have a restful sleep?" Saphira thought about how she should respond to that as she knew he was going to ask her about her scream. "I suspect you must have had a nightmare. I heard echoes of screams coming from the vents. You were shouting my name, Bonnie, Fredbear and the others…I was tempted to come down to you, but I worked out you were just having a nightmare. It must have been quite intense."
Saphira took a deep breath, knowing she had to keep the details of the nightmare vague. "Yeah…it was…I guess the stress of yesterday kind of built up into a nightmare that shocked me. And I am sorry if I scared you, Springtrap. I had hoped for a dreamless sleep, if I am honest. I would have preferred that, but I wasn't so lucky. But even though I didn't have a great dream, I still feel well rested. I think that is more important."
"I suppose." Springtrap was silent as he thought more on something that clearly seemed to be on his mind. She didn't know if it was him thinking about her nightmare of not. He hummed softly after a moment before he spoke to her with a smile. "Graduation, huh? Wow…I can't believe it, to be honest. I wish I had not been so angry about you these past ten years. I should have appreciated the few years you and I had back then. And you were just a small child. I never saw you as a kindergartener, but that doesn't matter."
She chuckled a little and nodded in agreement. "Bonnie said the same thing. He remembers the first day I came to the pizzeria after my first day as a kindergartener well. I told him everything that happened on my first day. I told him how much fun I had in the sandpit, the playground and how much fun the teacher was. It was great…and now…I am back here just in time for me to finish graduation and enter adulthood."
He chuckled softly as he thought more about it. "And, not so long ago, I never thought it was possible. We all thought we would never see you again. But we were wrong. At least we can now enjoy the small things. And hopefully…" Springtrap thought on something for a moment. "Saphira, I need to tell you something." She looked at him curiously and he shook his head. "In the chapel. Fredbear found something in the room last night, and it has bothered me."
She was surprised by that, and that made her worry. "Is it something I should be worried about?"
Springtrap shrugged. "Most likely. And to be honest, Fredbear didn't want to tell you. I understand why. What he found was too disturbing to show. And I don't think I should show you, but I will tell you. Though Fredbear won't be happy if he knows I told you, so it is best to go to the chapel and tell you there. It is soundproofed, after all. Most of the pizzeria is not."
Saphira did not need to know why the Love Chapel was soundproofed, but given he specified the reason, she did feel nervous to know. As she walked with him through the hallway towards the doors to chapel, she realized she didn't want to know. "Do you have to tell me tonight?" He looked at her in surprise. "I want tonight to be about celebrating, Springtrap. I don't need some other dark cloud over my head right now. I hope you understand. You can tell me tomorrow, or some other time."
Springtrap observed Saphira's expression and he saw that she genuinely did not want to know right now. She would be fine knowing another day, just not tonight. He realized that he might be getting ahead of himself, mostly because he didn't want to keep secrets. "Very well. Just know I don't like keeping secrets from you right now, Saphira. I feel that everything that has, and will happen from now, cannot be mixed in with secrets. I hope you feel the same way."
Saphira nodded as she did feel that way. "Yes. I think that will be the best thing moving forward. We are now living together, and secrets is something that we need to uncover about Afton, not about each other." She smiled at him and leaned to hug him quickly. "Thank you, Springtrap. And I know you want to tell me, I can tell it is burning on your mind. But it will be best if we focus on just having fun tonight. So long as we don't get pesky trespassers interrupting our party later, it will be a very fun night."
Springtrap let out a light chuckle of amusement. "I am afraid we cannot predict, nor control, if and when trespassers decide to enter the building. But I fully understand what you are trying to say, Saphira. But if someone does come into the building, we won't do anything to them in the dining room. And we will make sure you do see or hear what we do."
"That doesn't mean that it wouldn't make the night awkward," Saphira commented. "Especially since I am not stupid, Springtrap. While I know, and have accepted, that you must kill humans to eat…I am not sure if I will ever be okay whenever you have to do it. You know, it is hard for me to watch a lion kill an antelope to eat. I know it's necessary, and I wish you guys weren't trapped needing human flesh…and I am grateful that we have such a bond, that I am part of this family, and not on your menu. But I still…you know…the first times I saw you kill, I haven't forgotten." Springtrap grimaced and looked away guiltily. "And it still bothers me, because I can see it in my head, but I still understand why you did it. Though…aside from the fact, the first time, you almost killed me."
Springtrap's ears droop to the side slightly as he did feel extremely guilty about that. Knowing he could have done that hurt, especially since he would not have learned about why she didn't come back. He sighed deeply as they reach the doors of the Love Chapel and looked at the doors before he opened them to walk into with her. "There is nothing, no amount of apology, that can take back what I had done back then, Saphira. I could say sorry all I want, but I know it doesn't matter. I only hope that my actions have shown it."
Saphira smiled at him and she nodded. "Of course, your actions have shown a lot more to me than words. And I am grateful. I know it hurts you to know that your actions could have done something irreversible. At least you got the chance to learn about the past before you made a decision." He did not react as he walked with her towards the bar. "You already know I forgive you for it, Springtrap. So please, let that guilt go."
Springtrap sighed as he stopped and turned to look at her with sad eyes. "I still will never understand why you chose to favor and care about me more than the others. Just because I stood out from the others, it doesn't really make me that special. I don't think it does. I could have been called Golden Bonnie, if she wasn't already here."
"I suppose…while you already know the answer. I saw how everyone treated you when you were first introduced, and I didn't understand. I liked you the moment I saw you, and I saw the goodness. But if you want to know a deeper reason, I am not sure. I guess I just…knew you were special." Springtrap still seemed unconvinced and she placed her hand on his cheek gently. "I don't think there needs to be a deeper reason, Springtrap. I know you feel confused why I chose to favor you over Fredbear, as he was the only other one who stood out from the others, but I didn't have the same connection. It's hard to explain, because I don't even know the explanation. But please stop trying to search for answers to something that might not ever have an answer."
Springtrap guessed that Saphira was right. She didn't need a deeper reason to like him the way she has. And the fact that he also knows she loves him as well, it still made him wonder why. After all, she also knows the terrible things he's done in her absence. Things he is not proud of admitting at all. And yet, Springtrap stood beside Saphira, with their hands together, and she has pretty much forgiven him for those actions. He hasn't forgiven himself for that, and he did not know if he ever would. But it did make him happy to know that the wrongs of his past would not chase her away.
Springtrap smiled at her as he brushed some strands of hair from her face. "You are the special one here, Saphira. Not us, not even me. Our of all the humans we've met, you are the one we would have always remembered, even if you had not returned. You made an impression like no one else. And I don't think there is anyone out there like you. If there is, they're in a different country."
Saphira chuckled a little and shrugged. "I guess. But I know for a fact that I did not even have to try. You guys just knew as well." He nodded and she turned to keep walking towards the bar. "Come on, I need to check the door in the bar. I am sure Chica is already rallying the help needed to make up enough food for everyone to enjoy before we can have a party."
"You are not going to be concerned with needing to reboot the system at all?" Springtrap asked curiously as he walked beside her.
"To be fair, I haven't noticed anything going wrong when letting the errors go on without rebooting them. So I kind of feel they're pointless anyway. And I am not working tonight, I am going to have fun. I am just checking the doors, so it makes my conscious happy." Upon entering the bar, Saphira looked to the door, only to pause as she noticed a cup rolling along the countertop. She frowned a little as the cup came to a stop, which was good, as she didn't need to be cleaning glass from the ground. She sighed for a moment. "Great…and I was just saying I didn't want any trespasser." She looked towards the door and realized is was open slightly. "And it is unlocked."
Springtrap growled a little as he stared at the counter. He could hear the panicked breathing from someone hiding behind the counter. "I know, and it seems there is only one hiding behind there." Saphira and Springtrap heard the panicked gasps from someone, and Saphira's shoulders slump as Springtrap released her hand. "Go and lock the door. I will deal with it in a moment."
Saphira nodded and walked towards the door, irritated that this was already happening right now. As she was about to reach for the door, she jumped as she heard someone scrambling to their feet and she widened her eyes in shock as a young man ran towards her with a large knife raised in his hand. He seemed scared, but he was also intending on using that weapon on her. But she didn't know who he was, and he came prepared.
She screamed as she ran out of the door and slammed it shut just before she heard the sound of a heavy thud within the bar. She heard the man shouting something, and more thudding before she jumped at the sound of a crunch, and then it was silent. She took deep breaths as she knew she had just almost been attacked by someone. But she didn't know who or why that happened, but it has shaken her up, and hopefully, not for the whole night.
She jumped when Springtrap opened the door and she stared at him in shock. "He has been dealt with. Come on…" He grabbed her by the arm and pulled her inside. She was glad he had no blood on his hands, and glanced to the ground and gasped to see that Springtrap had snapped the man's neck. "He didn't say much, only calling be a coward and disloyal puppet, for whatever reason." He closed the door and Saphira hugged him while staring at the body. "You don't recognize him?"
She shook her head. "No…" The young man seemed to be in his twenties, and he had blue eyes and brown hair, but she did not know him. "I don't know this man. M-Maybe he did that because I was about to lock him in…I don't know…um…" She swallowed and looked at him. "Uh, I'm going to go to the kitchen. C-Can you deal with his body?"
Springtrap nodded. "I will. Are you sure you don't want me to go with you?" Saphira thought about that for a moment and Springtrap knew she would want the company. "Okay. Since I left no mess, I will go with you. I'll inform one of the others to come and take him away for us to deal with later. Try not to let this get to your mind, Saphira. He might have simply been an idiot."
"Maybe…hopefully." Saphira turned away from the body and began walking to the hallway and Springtrap followed as she kept a tight grip on his hand. "Such a great start to the night…a good thing you didn't tell me what you were going to tell me before as well. I don't need that eating up my thoughts tonight."
Springtrap nodded as he couldn't disagree. And he was glad that she might be okay for the rest of the night. He was also concerned about why this man had lunged at her, and what his motive would have been, but he didn't ask questions when he killed him. He didn't need to waste time on a human who was trying hurt or kill Saphira. So he would definitely make sure that Saphira was going to enjoy her night with him and the other animatronics. So much fun that she would forget about this incident for a short time, and make it a memorable graduation ceremony.
