Sue and her mom are now back home from the dentist's office. Her grandma has recently got new dentures as a matter of fact. Her old one was broken of course. Her grandma will like her new dentures by the way. Sue likes her grandma getting her new dentures at the dentist's office. Let's hope that her grandma will like her brand-new dentures.

"We are back, Sue" said Principal Rodriguez. "My mom got a new denture"

"She sure does" said Sue. "In fact, her old one was broken"

"The dentist already threw that one out" said Principal Rodriguez.

"Nice to see my grandma" said Sue. "Here she comes now"

They saw her grandma entered the house.

"How do you like your dentures, mom?" Principal Rodriguez.

"I like them" said her mom.

"I'm glad you did" said Principal Rodriguez.

"I wonder where dentures come from" said her mom.

"Around 700BC, Etruscans in northern Italy made dentures out of human or animal teeth" said Sue. "Although these materials deteriorated quickly, the dentures were easy to produce and remained popular until the mid 1800s"

"Who was the first president to wear one?" Her mom asked.

"One of the most famous early denture wearers was the first U.S. President, George Washington" said Sue. "Contrary to popular belief, however, Washington's dentures were not made of wood"

"I didn't know he wears it" said her mom.

"He does, grandma" said Sue. "Washington sported some of the highest quality false teeth of the time, consisting of a denture plate made of carved hippopotamus ivory into which human teeth (along with parts of both horse and donkey teeth) were fitted"

"I really liked my dentures" said her mom.

"Make sure that you take care of your new dentures, grandma" said Sue. "I have learned about dentures at school last week"

"Thank you for taking me to get new dentures" said her mom.

"Anytime, mom" said Principal Rodriguez. "We better go now"

"See you later, grandma" said Sue.

"Bye, you two" said her mom.
