Skye is a, as one would say, fun loving and caring pup, a pup who's the girly type yet so brave and daring, a pup with a loving passion to fly, a pup who isn't very hard to befriend, one could meet her and become her best friend within a minute at best. She's basically a good pup. And to top it all off, she had her chopper, a home, and most importantly her friends, she felt like the luckiest pup in the world, and nothing could change that.
"Hey Skye." Said pup snapped out of her mind when she heard some pup call her name. "We're playing tag right now, wanna come join?" Said the pup who called her, who happened to be Rubble.
"Oh sure." Said Skye doing her trademark yip and then running towards the others to join.
As she was running, she saw that marshall was being chased by zuma. "I'm gonna tag you Mawshall." Zuma called out, but then was now starting to fall behind.
"I like to see you try." Marshall taunted while looking behind him.
"MARSHALL LOOK OUT." Marshall looked in front of him and couldn't react fast enough to not bump into Rocky, who was not only the same pup who told him to look out, but he also had his uniform on, the two went tumbling for a bit until they came at a stop next to each other with Rocky's hat on top of Marshall head.
Seeing this, Marshall stood up. "Hey Rocky look, I'm the newest recycling pup, don't lose it, reuse it." Rocky got up and laughed.
"Alright rookie, before you can get your paws on a recycling bin, the first thing you should know is that there is more recycling than meets the eye." Rocky said, in a playful teaching voice, making both of them laugh.
Then, an idea came to Marshall's head. "Hey, can you imagine if there was a second pup for our job, like another fire pup, or a police pup ,or a recycling pup?" He said.
Rubble then joined in on the conversation "Yeah, that would be something new, if there was a second construction pup, then there would be double Rubble on the double." He giggled at his own joke and so did the others.
Chase then spoke up. "Speaking of another pup, has anyone seen Ryder?" He said as he looked both ways for said boy.
"He said he was going hiking for a bit, and he'll be back by noon or so." Rocky said going over to Chase.
Indeed Ryder was hiking, he was walking along a trail with a walking stick in hand while whistling a tune of his own, all while enjoying the scene around him that was nature. He took in a deep breath and then exhaled through his mouth. "Aaahhhh this is why nature is beautiful."
"HEEEEELLLLLPPP"
Ryder stopped in his tracks and unknowingly dropped his stick. "What was that? Sounds like someone's in trouble."` With no time to waste, he went over to the source of the yelp.
Pretty soon the sound was leading to a cliff edge, and when he looked down he saw the problem. "Ryder, boy am I glad to see you. I'm in tremendous trouble." It was none other than Captain Turbot hanging off a branch that was sticking out of the cliff, just below the edge.
"Captain Turbot, what happened?" Ryder asked in a worried voice, the hiking trip now the last thing on his mind.
"I was trying to track down the great albino squirrel, but when I saw the graciously great creature, I was so excited that I carelessly wasn't watching where I was walking, and now I'm dangerously dangling over a cliff." he then looked around a bit before turning to ryder with a worried expression and tone. "...Help."
"Don't worry captain," Ryder said with a determined voice."... I'll get you." He then proceeded to reach down with his left hand. "Grab my hand and I'll pull you up." Captain Turbot proceeded to do what he was told, but upon doing so the branch was starting to crack.
Reacting to this, Turbot did the next best thing and threw himself with all his strength just as the branch broke off, just catching Ryder by the hand, but soon he was dangling. Ryder shut his eyes and began to try and pull him up, but it was difficult since Captain Turbot is much heavier than he looked. "Eeerrrgh, come on." Even so, he was doing his absolute best to pull him up, but was soon letting up.
Just as everything seems lost, he then feels a tug on his sleeve, he opens his eyes and looks to his left to find a white beagle pup biting down on his sleeve at the forearm to help Ryder pull Captain Turbot up, he knows this because the pup was pulling too, but, all the while the pup was dangerously close to the cliff edge.
Pretty soon the Captain was now chest high from the cliff edge. "That's it, you and… that pup are doing it, we're gonna make it." Funny how people tend to jinx what they say. After Captain Turbot said this, the pup that was helping Ryder suddenly slipped from they're left paws, letting go of Ryder's sleeve and promptly falling off the cliff.
"OH NO/AH" Ryder said and Turbot yelped as they both looked down before they heard a loud thud. Ryder looked at the fallen pup with horror, but was quick to turn his attention to the Captain. It wasn't that he didn't care about the poor pup, he was absolutely scared, but calm, for the safety of that pup, but they were out of reach for him both situationally and literally. Right now he had to do one thing at a time and the unexpected mission of saving Captain Turbot was fortunately almost done for the entirely new objective.
Soon enough Captain Turbot crawled his way off the ledge and stood as Ryder helped him up. "Whew, thanks Ryder." Then they went over to the ledge and looked down to check on the pup who had helped Ryder just moments ago. They were all the way down the cliff, lying on the grassy field… unmoving.
"YIKES, that pup is in peril." Captain Turbot panically said.
"You're right, but we're gonna help, but he's too far down." Ryder said with seriousness in his tone as he then proceeded to take out his pup pad. "We're gonna need some help, and I know just the pups to call." He then pulled the bottom of the pup pad to reveal the multi-colored button and then pressed on it.
"Paw Patrol…"
"...to the lookout."
"RYDER NEEDS US"
All the pups said in unison as they dropped everything and rushed towards the lookout. Of course, marshall slipped and crashed into the other pups which lead to a literal dog pile, they all groaned and marshall came out on top to tell a pun, but no words came out "... I've got nothing." All the pups chuckled or giggled at this as the elevator closed and brought them up to the giant badge that respectfully shined, after that, they were in their respective uniforms and were taken to the top where the elevator opened and they jumped out to their place in line and stood in attention.
"Paw Patrol ready for action, Ryder…. Sir?" Chase said only to see that Ryder was nowhere to be found. "Uhhh… Ryder?"
"Pups…" The big screen then came up and showed Ryder on it, and from the looks of it, he was talking to them from his pup pad. "... We have a big problem. A pup was helping me get Captain Turbot from falling off a cliff edge, and when we were about to get the Captain up, the pup fell off. Now they're at the bottom of the cliff and severely injured."
All the pups gasped at this and were shocked and surprised. A pup that no one knows, or even sees anywhere, had just risked themselves to save Captain Turbot from falling off a cliff edge, and in exchange had taken the Captains place instead. This brought back memories for Skye. She had done something like this before when she saved Adventure City from a crashing meteor, but she had made it out uninjured, this other pup however would be an entirely different story, and no one knew what would come next.
"Marshall…" Everyone snapped out of they're thinking when they heard Ryder speak. Instinctively, they looked up to see Marshall's badge on the screen, then came his medical truck. "... I need you and your medical skills to hurry over, pick up the pup, and rush over to Katie's so you and her can help the pup, I'll call to let her know in advance."
"I'm ready for a ruff ruff rescue."
"Alright, Paw Patrol is on a roll."
And just like that, Marshall took off running without wasting a second while the pups cheered and barked for him. He went down the slide and dropped into his pup house which then turned into his medical truck and sped off with sirens blaring. He had no difficulty making his way over to where the situation was as cars pulled over to the side to make way for the medical pup.
Halfway there, he heard his pup tag go off. "Marshall, the pup is at the bottom of the mountain, take the off-road route that leads down."
"Got it, Ryder."
Obeying what he had been told, Marshall took the ordered route that was off road and onto a trail. Though he was in a rush, he had to be careful of the dirt road he was on as now steering can be much more difficult than it looks.
Eventually, he got to the bottom of the mountain, but didn't see the pup in need anywhere. He heard his pup tag go off. "You're nearly there, just keep going along the mountain a bit." Ryder said and Marshall obeyed.
Eventually, he found the pup, put his truck in a stop, and ran over to them. Indeed, the pup was,
in fact, injured, in fact he was unconscious, so Marshall put an ear to the nose and, much to his relief, they were breathing.
Wasting no more time, he rushed back to his truck to get a stretcher, he ran back out with said stretcher and carefully but quickly loaded the pup onto the stretcher and put them in the truck, closed the doors, and sped off in record time.
Ryder, after seeing Marshall booking it, went to his ATV and started it up.
"Wait." Ryder could only make a teeny trip before stopping himself when he heard Captain Turbot's voice. "Mind if this sad sailor tags along, I feel awful that this happened because of me."
"Sure Captain Turbot, hop on." Said Ryder as he gave the captain a spare helmet and he did as he was told, after that he sped off after Marshall.
Katie waited anxiously in front of her parlor. She had gotten the call from Ryder earlier and was shocked at first to hear what had happened, but she soon calmed herself and got everything she needed ready. She just needs to BE ready when she sees the pup and has to work on them. She had helped injured pups but this was different. Although she was prepared for it with the necessary tools she needed, she hadn't prepared her mind nor her heart. No one could blame her though, the situation came to her all too suddenly. So while she waited for Ryder and Marshall, she took advantage of this time to prepare herself.
The time she was given was short but just enough as she heard the sirens coming to her from her right. She walked forward a bit as the ATV and EMT truck pulled up to the sidewalk. Marshall, being the first to jump out, wasted no time in getting the injured pup out of his truck into the parlor with Katie following along. Ryder followed after setting his helmet on his ATV.
"Get the pup into the room in the back, we can work there." Katie said as they rushed into the, scaring Cally out of her nap in the process.
"You got it, Katie." Marshall said as he went into said room. Katie followed and shut the door, leaving Ryder and Captain Turbot in the main room of the parlor with nothing else to do but wait.
