April 6, 2009.
I remember that day pretty well: We were on the same train- late because of changes in the railway system or something like that. It was late, sometime around 11:56, three minutes from 12. The power went out on everything electronic and digital- our portable music players were not spared from this, and neither was our phones too.
The moon turned a sickly-and-sinister looking yellow, glowing brighter than ever before- hauntingly even. Everything around us had a green tint to it, like if someone added a color filter to a film. You were scared, I could tell from the look in your eyes, but your outward self refused to yield- always looking bubbly and slightly innocent, even in the worst of situations. What a terrible coping mechanism, of course, it's not like I was any better with mine, I wouldn't find that out until it was too late.
We made it to our dorm at last, some overly fancy looking place with its lights on, despite everywhere else in the city having no power. How interesting.
"No one can escape time. It delivers us all to the same end. You can't plug your ears and cover your eyes."
I remember those words. They were the most truthful thing anyone had said to us at the time- with hindsight of course... but then again, I'm sure you already know that.
Then, the events that led us here began: with a moody girl in pink.
