Disclaimer: We don't own Danny Phantom or Monster High.
Halloween Night was closing in as everyone in the human world prepared for one of their most festive and celebrated holidays. Pumpkins decorated houses, homes, shops, and stores as bats and skeletons hung from strings in decorum.
Candy was bought out in almost every store as parents prepared for trick-or-treaters, but the teenage population was the most excited.
Evident from certain students in Casper High, who were almost done with classes. In particular, a trio consisting of a regular kid, a goth girl, and a tech-loving geek were thinking about it.
"Man! Halloween can't come faster this year!" Tucker said, excitedly pumping his arms as he waved his smartphone like a rave light. He jumped high, almost causing his glasses to fall off out of excitement.
"Tucker, you're too old for trick or treating," Sam said beside him. The goth girl sighed, recalling how the boy went around with a map last year, going door to door with only a pair of funny glasses with a fake nose, mustache, and thicker glasses as a costume.
Teens had a fluctuating line that stretched the topic on how old was too old for such childish activities, but Tucker had been too lazy to defend his case, and he knew it.
"But this year gonna be better!" Tucker rocketed his phone's screen into Sam's face. The screen lit up with a video of Twitter, showing off a video for the upcoming Halloween party everyone had been talking about.
And it wasn't just Tucker. Everybody was talking about it. A student could not walk down the halls without hearing the event gossip. Everywhere on campus, teens began planning costumes, schedules, and whatever else floated in their minds.
Many topics were also of the host, influencer Ashli Mitchell, who was already in town. Many single boys began fantasizing about their first words to the girl, hoping to impress her.
Tucker had switched the display, staring at a photo of the blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl flaunting a fashion trend from Paris, looking exotic and highly desirable. Her current trend was similar to the wildlife explorers you'd see in jungle movies with a shirt stylized with leopard print.
Sam groaned, rolling her eyes, and brought her friend back to earth with a simple smack behind his head, knocking off Tucker's beret.
"Whatcha do that for!?" Tucker cried, reaching down to redon his hat.
"Tucker, she's just a trend." Sam did not bother to stare at the boy. Her eyes matched her voice, dulled by the vain societal entertainment. "She'll probably disappear after a couple years, only able to maintain any sense of relevance through more risqué means. This party is just another grab at views."
"I just hope that we don't have another run in with the Fright Knight," Danny muttered, busting the topic as his friend gave him their undivided attention.
"You're still thinking about patrol, huh?" Sam repeatedly snapped her fingers in front of Danny's face until his focus was back on the ground.
Danny nodded silently, sighing in defeat.
"I can't blame you," Tucker said, frowning. "Ever since you got your powers, things haven't been the same...and this including your parents are actual ghost hunters."
"Not to mention my dad made the portal that gave me my ghost powers," Danny sighed lowly. No one at school would bother listening in, not on the losers of the teenage totem pole of popularity. With a shake of his head and ruffle of his black hair, he changed his tone. "So, who's hosting this party again?"
"Ashli Mitchell!" Tucker said, smiling.
"Some vapid girl who'll propabably spend the rest of her days in front of a camera for a slew at audience," Sam said.
The goth girl and techno geek glared at their simultaneous answers. Once again, the philosophical differences between them sparked a small fire, the only one needed that could start a fight.
"Come on, you guys, I really don't want to see you guys fighting, especially over something like silly like a girl." Danny got in between the two, his hands distancing the arguing teens away.
"Fine." The two shook hands. Despite their differences, friendship came first, especially for each other. "But dude, how have you not heard of Ashli Mitchell? She's one of the biggest influencers and totally hot too!" Tucker showed multiple photos from his phone.
Ashli Mitchell was beautiful with her European features and model-like appearance. She never wore the same clothes for a Tweet and never was seen in the same place twice. Fans from all over, not just boys like Tucker, followed the girl to see the latest trends and sights from across the globe.
Sam rolled her eyes, never one for social media or anything remotely mainstream. "Ten bucks says she's as real as her photos," She snarked.
"Sam, I know Tucker's being a little creepy, but you can't complain about someone just because they're an on-line sensation...I think." Danny wasn't sure as he turned to his friend.
Tucker was drooling at the lavishly dressed blonde girl as he replayed the video invitation sent. Hormones overrode rational thinking as the image of Ashli appeared with spooky music accompanying her chipper, haughty, accented voice.
"Hey there, it's Ashli, coming to you live from the Amity Park, the most haunted place in the USA! I was thinking about exploring the place during Halloween and see what this place's got! And what better way to celebrate Halloween than with a raging party!? Calling this lit is totally weak! And since I want to throw the biggest Halloween bash, everyone in town is invited!"
Danny and Sam watched with mixed reactions. The former had a small smile, happy to attend such a grandiose social event of the year. Those at the bottom of the school hierarchy could only dream or wish for an opportunity, but this Halloween seemed to be the coming of a legendary night.
Now if only Sam could show the same enthusiasm.
"Oh please, don't get your hopes up," Sam deadpanned. "The minute we show up at the gates, I'm telling you, she'll kick us out the moment she eyes us."
"You know you're a pessimist, right?" Tucker complained.
"No, I'm a realist. Huge difference," Sam said, frowning. "Besides, a town wide Halloween party?" She scoffed. "That's ridiculous."
"What's wrong about that?" Danny asked, wondering why his gloomy friend was so riled up. Sam was never one to wear her heart on her sleeve unless it involved something she was passionate about. "I mean, why shouldn't we get in?"
"And mingle with the simple-minded on the most haunting of nights? Pffft!" Sam waved an arm at the thought. "There's more to the holiday besides the corporate consumption of candy and cheap, barely-passable-as-the-real-thing costumes."
Halloween to a goth meant more than trick or treating and costumes, a tradition she never followed. That night was for spirits and creatures of the night. If anything, the goth would rather spend this wonderfully grim holiday watching her favorite movie, Trinity of Doom. This cross-over feature film brought together her favorite female empowering characters, Femalien, Nightmerica, and Terminatra.
"So I guess you don't want to go to party and see for yourself with your own eyes of how fake Ashli Mitchell is in real life and call her out on it, am I right?" Danny carefully picked his words, knowing a little reverse psychology might convince his gothic best friend to attend the party. He was not adept in the subject but knew the goth girl well enough to use such tactics.
Sure enough, the desired results came as Sam toiled with her emotions before sighing with a small, snarky smile.
"Alright..." Sam took a breath. There was a hint of challenge in her eyes as she thought about the party. "It's not like its gonna change our lives forever."
"That's the spirit!" Tucker brought the two in for a group hug. While he was pushing the boundaries of personal space, no one cared as they thought about Halloween Night. The hours counted themselves as daylight burned.
And the students of Casper High were not the only ones to look forward to the festivities as crews were decorating the outside venue of the Country Club as a DJ booth was set up with wireless speakers placed strategically around the court. The shrubbery was decorated with decorations of bats, ghosts, skulls, and other gothic scenery as lights were strung around like spider webs.
In the center of the setup, Ashli Mitchell walked around, inspecting every detail like a drip sergeant. Though she was younger than the men, her sternness scared the workers if something was out of place.
"Come on, people. We need the tables over there, with the hot deurves on the left and drinks on the right, in the designated order. Come on, we're on a schedule here," Ashli said as she was directing the crew, clapping her hands against the folded paper design of her party.
She wanted to ensure this Halloween party was perfect and would go off without a hitch. Clicking the heels of her expensive stilettos, the girl walked off stage, bringing out her phone as he looked over articles about Amity Park and its ghostly activities.
"Everything must be perfect, the whole town will be here, believe you, me! We can not afford to slip up," Ashli said before muttering to herself. "If this party doesn't attract ghosts, then I don't know what will."
Jay and I present another wonderful chapter to you all, showing where Danny and his friends are as the Halloween Party counts down. I thank everyone for their reviews and comments. Happy to see everyone is enjoying the prospect of the fic. Since this is a Danny Phantom fic, I should get this out of the way.
Yes, I know there's a new Danny Phantom comic today; I've read it, and, in my opinion, it seems to be a rocky start. I'm just gonna wait for the next one and see how things roll.
Special Thanks! to Flower Princess11 for all her help!

Not yet decided. A review, but I can't remember which one or the story I saw it in.
No Spoilers. Mainly because I'm nostalgic for the original version of Monster High.

There's gonna be some learning about humans and monsters.
They probably didn't even consider that as a possibility.
Njistar:
How's this?
Thank You :)
danifan3000:
Yeah...the fusions are not present. This takes place during season two.
A good point, but we've the ghouls somewhere during the first two volumes of the Original Monster Web series and the events in "Freaky Fusion" happen much further down the line in Monster High chronological order. Plus, Hybrids right now are in the minority and haven't drawn in a lot of attention yet. Or at least that is until Danny Phantom showed up.
