Cg037: thanks, I will
Jebest4781: well, things are progressing. Glad you like it
ArashiNokitsune: they will meet and there will be chaos. That is all I will say
GirlFish: not sure what to give him but I'll think of some things later on. Yeah, no one saw his alternate form since he hasn't transformed at all since he woke up. And for the legend, everyone there was scared about the fight and it took place in the air. Not to mention that after a thousand years, some details would most likely be lost. I didn't know that there were others that became the bearer. Must be far into the series
Ryu wolf: thank you
Simm36: gracias
TheWhiteTitan: well, here is the next chapter. The change into a unicorn was something I did because I feel Danny should have something that can help him out living in the world of MLP. there is another reason but that will be revealed later….. Maybe even in this chapter
Valle95: I'm actually looking forward to the chaos that will bring
KorevainsoLightshire: I just figured that since Danny was human, he would still have some human thoughts. The no-clothes thing was just one of the things I figured he would think of. Sorry if the wait was long. This fic is becoming something of a stress reliever for me since it is kind of lighthearted. Sure I put some more heavy material but not that much. I had a tough time thinking of a way for Danny to meet the others in a way that doesn't really seem forced and it was when I got a review asking for Ditzy and I looked her up, I came up with the mail thing and Danny being a nice guy. I actually came up with an event between Danny and Pinkie by the unnatural aspect they have. Should be funny. Yeah, I switched up the animal thing since it is always animals being scared about ghosts but I wanted to change that, so I decided to switch it and giving it an explanation that these animals know that Danny is a protective spirit. Thanks, glad you like the cover
LordGriffin1000: glad you liked how I set up the interactions and that you thought it was funny
Guest 1: I'm more building friendships between the characters rather than adding to a harem. I don't know who Applejack's cousin is. I'll have to look her up just to know the character.
TheSwanSennin: don't know about that
LadyLunaTwilight: glad you like this. Here's more
Phanboy: he's building friendships first. And hearts and hooves day….not sure
William Escobar 608: yeah, mares can be scary. No this is much later in Danny phantom's adventures, he just remembers his past from time to time. And Danny being as much trouble as he is and Nurse Redheart being stern in her job, there would be trouble
Guest 2: sorry for taking so long. Also, the idea of Danny being the son of Pandora, Clockwork, or Infina, would not work in this since it would have no purpose in a crossover like this since those characters are in the Danny phantom universe. As for the relation between Danny and Luna, that is a possibility
Arraia: sorry for the wait.
Some Random Guy: the meeting is in this chapter. And he will learn it soon
Gallantmon228: well, right now, I am just building friendships. Pairings will be later. I'm sorry for the wait. But 10k words isn't something I can do in an hour or two.
Name 00-0: interesting way of doing it but we will have to wait to see who he ends up with
Dan the bluewolf: thanks, I will fix it
Nathair1: him becoming a unicorn was just something I came up with. It will help for a later even I have in mind. Pinkie Pie is hilarious. You'll just have to see.
The Re-reader: sorry for the wait. Here's more
Chapter 5: The second arrival
Today was the day. It was finally time for all things to come to an end.
And she was panicking.
Well….internally.
Celestia was at her desk looking over some papers that needed her verification, with a large stack on her left and a small stack on her right. She had been like this for the last few hours and sighed as she lowered the paper she had floating in front of her.
She looked at the large stack and shook her head in defeat.
The large stack was the papers she had yet to look at. Usually, she would have finished already but her mind was just not in it. She lifted her cup of tea to have a drink but noticed it was empty. Floating the teapot to her, she looked inside to see that it was also empty and she didn't remember drinking it. "It's no use, I just can't focus on these matters."
With everything that has happened and is going to happen, she knew that her royal duties will have to be put on hold. She got up from her desk and began to pace her office.
Her office was decorated with bookshelves, a large portrait of herself, stain glass windows, and a very impressive desk. The office was found down the hall from the throne room and she used it when she needed to look over documents.
Her mind went over the current events that were leading to the conclusion of this thousand-year torment.
First, Danny's image had vanished from the moon. This had kept her up all that night as she was partially afraid that if she went to sleep and woke up, his image would be back on the moon and her hope for his freedom would be dashed. Another thing she did that night was think about what she would say to him the next time they met. What do you say to the pony you imprisoned for so long? And how would he react to seeing her? She didn't exactly look like she did when they first met.
She also thought it would be amusing to see his dumbfounded face when he sees her current appearance. When they first met, she had a pink mane, smaller wings, a smaller body frame... 'And a smaller flank.' She blinked in shock as she blushed at that embarrassing thought. She was well aware of what some of her admirers would say about her beauty. Yet one of the things that made her feel a bit self-conscious about her appearance was that she had heard some ponies whisper about her flank. Something that made her wish she could forget the comments.
The thing is that the comments were complimentary, in a way. Some male ponies would whisper about parts of her they admire and there were some flank ponies
Celestia though, did not know this as she never got the full context of the comments. She would just assume that they were making fun of her flank, and that is what made her self-conscious about it. Something that took root in her during her teen years and she never really got rid of
Whatever Danny's reaction may be, whether it would be shouting at her, disappointed in her, or shunning her, she would accept it as it was her that took away a thousand years from him.
Then there was her student Twilight sparkle.
Celestia smiled as she thought of the young pony that had so much promise. Even if she needed to get out more.
Yesterday, Twilight had sent her a letter bringing up the "Mare in the Moon" prophecy. Which she found amusing since it wasn't so much a prophecy as it was a reminder to herself about the time when the banishment would end. It just got to the public and ponies began to see it as a myth. Much like how Danny had become a legendary figure that fought by her side to defeat Nightmare Moon.
She still needed to ask him how he was able to become an Alicorn when she had no idea of anypony successfully completing the ritual during that time.
Cadence became an alicorn much much later. Around a hundred years or so ago.
Celestia smiled at that memory. Before it went back to Danny and his appearance.
It was different from what happened to her, Luna, and Cadence. When he turned, it didn't just give him a horn and wings, it changed his colors. His tan coat becoming pitch black, his black mane turning to pure white, the fur around his hooves becoming just as white, his eyes changing from blue to glowing green, and his whole body gaining a light glow.
This was one of the things that Celestia pondered over from time to time and came up with some ideas
From just what would happen if an earth pony were to just suddenly gain magic, a spell that Danny used to hide his true nature and appearance, to his being a forsaken being a factor to the appearance change.
His cutie mark changing added to that last theory.
She paused her pacing and looked at the clock and sighed as she saw that it was barely 11 in the morning. "Twilight should be in Ponyville at the moment handling the preparations. That should take most of the day and take her all over Ponyville. That should be enough to have her come into contact with the other bearers and give me enough time for me to tend to one little errand." She moved to the door and stepped out to speak to the guards. "Please inform anypony that comes that I am in the middle of an important task. It will not take long and I will be available shortly."
The pony guards bowed their heads and said they understood their orders.
Celestia walked back into her office and closed the door. "Well, here I go." Focusing her magic, her horn lit up, bringing a book to float in front of her before, in a small flash, she teleported away.
In another flash, Celestia reappeared at her intended destination. She saw that she was on a staircase, with the lower lights off but the lights on the higher level on. She tilted her head as she began to walk up the stairs. "I wonder why the lights are…"
"How much longer am I going to have to go through with this?"
Celestia froze as she heard someone speak. "That voice…"
"I will continue doing this till I deem that you are fit to run around Equestria twice."
"Ok, now I know for a fact that I wouldn't be able to do that. Are you doing this just to make sure I don't do anything else you don't like?"
"You'd be surprised. I remember a pony doing a marathon around Equestria for a charity event many years ago. Now, stop squirming."
"I'm not squirming. How can I squirm if you have one of my legs in your hooves?"
Celestia lowered the book onto the ground and slowly made her way up the stairs as quietly as possible. Once she was able to, she poked her head over the edge to see that what she heard was actually the pony.
Danny was once again, on a beanbag as Nurse Redheart was massaging his legs. "Just tell me if I am back to normal."
Nurse Redheart looked up from what she was doing to look at him dryly. "I wouldn't be able to tell you since I do not know your original physique, but I can say that you have regained enough muscle mass to be considered almost at a standard. I can assume that you are no longer requiring rest after a certain period of walking."
Danny nodded. "Yeah, I don't need to take a breather anymore. Which is good cause stopping every so often isn't something I like doing."
The nurse nodded. "I can imagine." She let his leg go before moving to the side table and picking up a pencil with her teeth before writing some things down. "Well, that does it for the day. You are free to do as you please but still no roughhousing."
Danny got to his hooves and stretched a bit. "You make it sound like I'm going to pick a fight with the next pony I see."
"With how much trouble you are, I would not doubt it."
"Oh, ha ha." He looked at his flank before giving the bandage a blank stare. "So can I take this off yet? Pretty sure that whatever wound I had there is gone."
Nurse Redheart looked toward his flank before shaking her head. "No, I believe it would be more beneficial if you wait till after the celebration before you take it off. So, the day after tomorrow, you can."
Danny began to walk out the door, next to the nurse, as he figured that he should get some air. "Why is it so bad to show off my cutie mark?" 'glad I remembered the name.'
The nurse paused for a second before looking at Danny. "Let's just say that it would bring up some specific looks toward you."
Danny wondered what she meant but shrugged as he would just take her word for it. She was a lot more trustworthy than the last nurse he had to deal with. Spectra had terrible bedside manner. He allowed Nurse Redheart to leave first and was about to follow but paused when something caught his eye. He turned his head towards it only to see that whatever it was, was gone.
"Somthing wrong?"
Danny shook his head. "Nah, thought I saw something colorful but maybe I got up too quickly."
"Now I'm concerned. Best I stay with you to make sure you don't collapse in the middle of the street."
Danny raised an eyebrow at her as he followed her out. "Shouldn't you be getting back to the hospital?"
She shook her head with a smile. "Don't worry, I usually spend my lunch break handling you so I still have about forty minutes. There is also the emergency signal that the hospital staff uses to alert any medical personnel that isn't in the hospital at the moment. However, it is rarely used. Most that come into the hospital are for some minor injuries. You are the most injured in all my time working there."
"Don't I feel special." He closed the door and began his trek into town with Nurse Redheart as his medical escort.
Once the two were gone, Celestia poked her head out to see that the coast was clear and let out a sigh of relief. "That was close. I was ill-prepared for him being here at this time." She picked up the book and walked up the last steps. She looked over to the door and let out another sigh, "He hasn't changed at all." She smiled as nostalgia filled her heart. "I'm happy to see that you are free after all this time, Danny." She let out a soft chuckle as she moved over to a specific shelf. "I wonder what his reaction was when he learned the town he named was now standing." She placed the book she had onto the shelf and nodded in slight satisfaction. "Knowing Twilight, this should help her figure out the elements' requirements and the spark she has within herself." Taking a few steps back, she turned her head towards the door one last time. "I hope things play out much better than last time. I leave it up to you my faithful student Twilight." She moved to the center of the room with a few more parting words. "And you too, Danny." she then teleported back to her office.
Danny was looking around the town to see that everyone was getting prepped for the celebration. "Guess I arrived just in time since I can see everyone with the biggest smile on their faces."
Nurse Redheart nodded. "Yes, that reminds me, what do you plan on doing after you are fully back to full health and the celebration is over?"
Danny paused for a second before continuing his walk. "I guess I'll stick around for a while since there is somepony I have to meet up with to ask a few things."
"Oh, really, who?"
Danny looked up to a banner that had an image of what he knew to be Celestia's cutie mark. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you." He still remembered the few times he walked into the royal castle to meet with Celestia. Many of the denizens of the castle were utterly shocked that he was allowed in. it was then that he chose to keep his friendship with the princesses a secret. "Anyway, when is the whole celebration starting?"
The mare looked at him before answering. "It starts when the sun rises. Most ponies will be staying up to see Celestia raise the sun for the longest day of the year to start."
Danny nodded and didn't see a problem with it since he was used to staying up all night.
As the two continued to talk about small things, they noticed a twister of rainbow colors and Danny had an idea what it would be. He began to make his way toward it with Redheart following
"...rainblow dry. Didn't think I would have to do this so often."
Danny knew that voice and saw he was right when he saw Rainbow Dash flying over a new pair. "I'm pretty sure that your patented skill should come with a warning." Rainbow Dash, the purple mare, and what Danny could only figure to be a large lizard, looked toward him.
"Danny!" Dash flew over to him and got into his face. "You ready to prove that you're faster than me?" she said with a cocky smirk.
Danny could see the competitive look on her face and gave and shook his head. "I never said that I could beat you."
"But the way you said that there could be sompony, made it sound like you meant yourself."
He huffed through his nose and smirked as she pulled back and shook her head from the feeling she got from the air hitting her muzzle. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't, but right now I'm not allowed to."
Rainbow Dash smirked down at him as she crossed her hooves. "Oh, yeah? And why not?"
"Because I will not allow him to do so."
Rainbow looked to Danny's side to see a glare from Nurse Redheart. She wilted at the look and lowered to the ground. "Sorry, Nurse Redheart."
Danny smirked at the sight of Rainbow Dash being scolded by Redheart as the nurse began telling the colorful mare that she needed to be more considerate to those that have yet to fully heal. He moved over to the new mare and waved his hoof. "Hey, I can see that you are also a victim to her windy 'hello'." He had to bite his lip to stop his laughter at the sight of her mane.
Twilight looked up at her mane and deadpanned. "Yeah, aren't I lucky."
Danny took a deep breath to calm down. "Well, it should go back to normal after some time. Trust me, I was victim to it not that long ago. By the way, I'm Danny." He gestured at himself in introduction.
Twilight nodded as she gave her own. "I'm Twilight Sparkle." she then gestured to her companion. "And this is Spike."
Said dragon waved. "Hey."
Danny smiled at the two before he looked at the smaller of the two. "Ok, I gotta ask, what are you?"
Spike puffed out his chest in pride as he said, "I'm a proud dragon."
Danny blinked a few times as he couldn't help the images of Dora or Aragon in their dragon forms from popping into a thought bubble. Then there was an image of Spike in front of the two dragons he knew of, to scale. 'Wonder if Dora and Aragon looked like this when they were younger.' he looked behind him to see that Redheart had finished her lecture with Rainbow Dash flying over to them. "How was your lesson?"
Dash glared at him before sticking her tongue at him. "Blegh."
Danny smirked at her before saying. "When I get the green light, I'll race you to see who is faster. But I don't know how fast I can really run so we can find out when we race."
Dash pumped her hoof into the air. "Oh, yeah!"
"Ahem, well, as interesting as that would be, I'm here to make sure that Rainbow Dash does her job in clearing the sky." was Twilight's words as she wanted to get things moving.
"Aw, what's the big deal? I can clear the sky lickety split."
Twilight looked up at the sky. "Well, why haven't you?"
Dash began to fly slowly in the air while leaning back with her hooves behind her head. "I was practicing for the Wonderbolts!" she pointed to a poster that was on the side of a building that showed a trio of ponies posing their profile. "They're going to be at the celebration and I'm going to show my stuff. Maybe get them to consider me to join them."
Danny looked to Redheart with a tilt of his head. "'Wonderbolts'?"
Redheart paused for a second in shock till she remembered that he was a traveler. 'Must have been well off normal routes if he is unaware of them. "The wonderbolts are a group of the finest fliers in all of Equestria. For the most part, they perform aerial acrobatics and races for the entertainment of others, yet in dire times, they can be used for aerial assaults."
Danny nodded as it sound a lot like the airforce back in his world.
Dash pounded her chest in pride. "And I'm going to be part of them one day."
Twilight, seeing a chance at getting Rainbow Dash to do her job, smirked as she spoke. "Please~, they would never let you join if you can't clear the skies when you need to."
"Hey, I said I could do it lickety split. I can do it in ten seconds flat."
Twilight gave a cheeky smile as she narrowed her eyes. "Prove it."
Almost offended by the lack of faith in her word, she tensed her wings before bolting into the sky.
The group of four watched as Dash flew back and forth, smashing away the clouds. In ten seconds, all the clouds in the sky were gone.
Danny couldn't help but mentally question what was right in this world. 'Ok, so clouds are more solid than in my world. Not evaporated water that comes from the ocean and turning from a liquid to a gas and cooling as it gains altitude.' He knew he shouldn't be surprised since he knew that Celestia and Luna controlled the sun and moon but it isn't easy to let go of knowledge he had from before.
"Ten-seconds-flat. Told you I could do it."
Twilight nodded as there wasn't a cloud in the sky. "Yes, you did, and I'm glad you were able to do it so quickly."
Dash puffed out her chest again. "Was there ever any doubt?"
Danny smirked as he cleaned his hoof on his chest before looking at it. "Well…."
"Hey!"
Danny chuckled at Rainbow Dash's childish complaint.
Twilight smiled as she looked at the others. "Well, with that out of the way, I should get going to my next stop."
Rainbow Dash smiled and looked at Twilight. "Well, it was nice meeting you, Twilight, we should hang out sometime later." she flew higher into the air and waved at the group. "Catch ya guys later, and you better be ready to lose when we race, Danny!"
"We'll see." he watched as Rainbow Dash flew off to do who knows what before looking at Twilight. "Want some company? I don't really have anything to do so this can be a nice way to kill time."
Twilight was about to deny this request since she was already a bit late thanks to the Apple farm feast and this little interaction with Rainbow Dash. But as she opened her mouth to do so, Spike interrupted.
"Come on, Twilight, maybe he can help us."
Twilight sighed before nodding. "Well, having somepony else with us could speed things along.
Nurse Redheart nodded as she thought this would be helpful for all of them. "Good. now that you will have somepony else with you, I can return to the hospital."
Danny looked at her and face-hoofed. 'Ow.' Shaking off the pain in his face he spoke. "Sorry for keeping you here all this time. Did we go over your lunch break?"
She shook her head. "No, I still have some time before it ends but I would like to get lunch during my lunch break."
Danny chuckled at that before he nodded to her. "Well, thanks for the help today, Redheart."
"And thank you for not being difficult." she turned around and began to walk away. "I will see you at the celebration."
"Later!" Danny watched her leave before looking back at Twilight and Spike. "Well, ready?"
Twilight nodded as Spike jumped on her back and pulled out the checklist. "Ok, so the next thing we have to look at is the decorations. So the venue where it's happening."
Danny thought about where it might be taking place till he remembered a bunch of banners surrounding one of the buildings he saw in town. "I think I know where that is, come on." Danny pointed in the direction he knew it to be and allowed her to go ahead. As he watched her walk, he noticed there was a small cloud left in the sky. Looking around, he stuck out his tongue in concentration and sent out a small shot of his energy from his horn at the cloud, breaking it apart. Glad that no one noticed the green flash, he moved to catch up with Twilight and moved in step next to her though slightly in the lead. 'That felt a bit different but at least I can use it without feeling tired.'
Spike looked at Danny and asked, "so, what's Ponyville like? We've never been here before."
Danny looked at the little dragon and chuckled. "Well, I can say the same. I only recently came into town. A little under a week, so I'm fairly new here, too. But I did get to walk around town a bit when I was given the green light."
Twilight raised an eyebrow at that. "What did you do before?"
"I traveled. I was well off the beaten path till I came here. But after some….issues, I found myself sticking around. Once the celebration is over, I plan on meeting up with a friend to talk about the issue."
Spike smiled as he was excited about what he might have seen in his travels. "What kind of stuff did you see while traveling?! Bet you saw a bunch of cool stuff."
Danny chuckled as he nodded. "Oh, I can say that I did. Though I did run into a few ponies that didn't like me." he would have elaborated but he saw that they had arrived at the venue. "Here we are."
The three walked into the building and looked around to see the whole thing was decorated extravagantly.
"Bea~utiful." was Spiked dazed word as they entered.
Twilight nodded as she looked around at the decorations. "Yes, it looks like things are coming along nicely."
Danny was also impressed by the decorations but froze when he saw the pony doing the decorations. "Uh-oh."
Twilight looked behind her to see Danny had stopped walking. "What is it?"
Both Danny and Spike spoke at the same time, one with slight trepidation and the other with love-struck awe. "Her~"
Twilight looked ahead to see Rarity going through some ribbons to add to one of the pillars.
"No, no, oh definitely not…"
Spike shook his head before adjusting himself. "How are my spines, are they straight?"
Twilight rolled her eyes good-naturedly with Danny raising an eyebrow. Twilight walked up to Rarity with Danny trying to back up and hide behind a pillar.
Twilight made it to Rarity as she finished tying up the ribbon she decided on its place. "Excuse me."
Rarity nodded in satisfaction at the sparkling red ribbon she placed as she heard Twilight. "Oh, forgive me for not noticing you. I was in the zone, as it were." she turned to the one that spoke and continued. "How can I help…. *GA~SP*" she was in shock at the sight of the new mare's hair. "Oh, my stars, Dear, whatever happened to your coiffure!?"
Twilight looked up at her still-messy mane. "Oh, you mean this? Well, it's a long story. I'm just here to check on the decorations and then I'll get out of your hair."
Rarity was still stunned by the sight before she spoke. "Out of my hair? What about your hair?" she was about to help Twilight to her boutique till she heard….
"Woah!"
Rarity looked past Twilight and smiled at the sight of Danny.
Danny had tripped on his hooves as he was not used to walking backward on all fours. "Ow."
"Oh, Darling, I'm so happy to see you again."
Danny looked up to see that Rarity had noticed him. "Hey, Rarity. I'm just here to help Twilight find where she needs to go."
The white mare smiled. "That is very generous of you. Now, come along, I simply must help her as well." She began to push Twilight out of the venue.
Twilight was shocked about what was going on. "Wait, what…. Hold on, help!"
Spike was still in a love-struck daze as he floated off the ground thanks to the power of puppy love power and followed them.
Danny shook his head and got off the ground before following them. 'Hope she doesn't dress me up and look at my hair again.'
'Why do I get some weird satisfaction seeing this?' Danny was watching as Twilight was the one being used as a dress-up doll this time instead of him. He figured that the reason he was satisfied by this was that it wasn't him this time and that someone else was being subject to it. 'I do feel bad for her though. At least her mane is straitened out.'
Much like what was done to Danny, rarity was putting Twilight into different outfits after her mane was fixed up and put back into its normal state.
Danny couldn't help but find that the outfits that she was put into reminded him of some 90s trends. He looked down at Spike and could see that he wasn't paying attention to Twilight, rather he was just watching Rarity. 'Hmm..'
"Ooh, this one brings out the color of your eyes."
Danny looked up to see that Twilight was now with a gem-decorated saddle. "Hmm, I agree with that."
Rarity looked over to Danny and smiled brightly. "Isn't it gorgeous, Darling! The white is beautiful with her purple fur." she paused as she tapped her chin with her hof. "Perhaps I can find something for you to wear to match her."
Danny took many steps back as he shook his head. "No, thanks. I'm good!" A part of him still thought of wearing something to cover up, but the other, more dominant part was afraid of being subject to Rarity's tendencies.
Rarity felt a bit disappointed but she shrugged it off and went back to Twilight. "Well, you simply must tell me where you're from." she grabbed the tightening straps with her teeth before pulling hard.
Twilight wheezed out whatever air she had in her lungs as the saddled she had was crushing whatever she had in her body. "Well…. I …..came….. From …..Canterlot….. And…"
When the word Canterlot was heard by Rarity, she let go of the straps and fell into an awed rant. "'Canterlot'! Oh, to have come from such a place. The Glamour, the luxury, the majesty! I would love to have gone to such a lovely city."
When Danny heard this, he thought back to his time in Canterlot. 'Is it really that big of a deal?' Sure Canterlot was bigger than Ponyville but he wouldn't call it glamorous. It just seemed like a city-like town. Taller buildings and all, with open areas all over. Still, he couldn't see the word glamorous attached to it. Just slightly higher-class. Then again, he slept outside of Canterlot in the forest so maybe he just didn't see it. He was brought out of his thoughts when he heard Twilight exclaiming.
"Quick, let's go before she decides to dye my coat a new color!"
Danny turned his head to keep his gaze on her before he looked back to see that Rarity wasn't there. Realizing that if she left, he would be the one remaining for Rarity to use, he turned to leave, only to pause before spinning around, grabbing Spike who was still in a daze and bolted after Twilight. "You ain't leaving me here!"
"Wasn't she beautiful?"
Danny looked onto his back as Spike was leaning on him. 'Least he isn't kicking my sides.' Once that thought ended he thought about what Spike said and shrugged a bit. "I guess she is. But don't you have something else that you need to do?"
Twilight nodded as she looked at Spike. "Indeed, what's next on the list?"
Spike shook his head before pulling up a list. "Oh, uh music. It's the last thing on the list."
Danny paused in walking before asking. "Do you know who's the one that's in charge of that?"
Spike looked through the list before shaking his head. "No, but it does have an address."
Danny looked at the list from over his shoulder since Spike was facing backward. He looked at the bottom and saw the address before smiling. "Oh, I know where that is, and I know who's in charge." He looked to Twilight before smiling. "Come on!" He then began to gallop toward their final destination.
"Woah!" Spike spun around and grabbed his mane to stay on.
"Hey, wait!" Twilight ran after him since he got a head start.
While Danny ran, he couldn't help but smile. 'Looks like I have most of my old strength back.' He no longer felt tired from some physical exertion, and that just made his day better. 'If only Missus Teslaf could see me now.'
The two ponies and dragon made it to a little cottage on the edge of Ponyville with the stallion of the two slowing down and the mare breathing a little heavier.
Twilight was glad that he finally stopped as she took in a slow breath. "Did we have to run all the way here?"
Danny smiled sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his head. "Sorry, but I've been cooped up for too long. Needed to stretch my legs."
Twilight sighed before walking forward. "I have to say, you are the most energetic unicorn I've met."
Danny went cross-eyed as he looked at his horn. "Well, I've been told I'm full of surprises."
Spike slid off Danny's back and shook his head. "Well, at least we got here fast."
Twilight smiled at that. "True. At this rate, we'll be done before we know it."
The trio moved closer to the cottage till they heard a chorus of birds off to the side. They followed the sound, away from the cottage till they came across Fluttershy flying in front of a small tree and a bunch of different birds tweeting in musical notes.
Danny smiled as this wasn't something he ever expected to see. 'Wow, she's good if she can get them to tweet like this.'
Fluttershy was waving her front hooves as she orchestrated the music. But as they were coming to a certain part of the musical piece, one bird began to sing off-tune. "Oh, my, um…. Stop please, everyone." She flew up to the bird and politely spoke. "Um, excuse me, sir, I mean no offense but your rhythm is a teeny tiny bit off."
The bird looked up in thought as he replayed the music in his head.
"Trying slowing down your tempo a bit and you should be more aligned with the others."
Fluttershy and the birds looked toward the sound and saw Danny walking up to them with Twilight at his side.
Twilight looked at him in confusion. "You know music?"
Danny shook his head. "I know someone that tried to drill some of it into my head. She made sure I knew how music worked to the point that a bunch of stuff she told me stuck." He looked up at the pegasus and smiled. "Hey, Fluttershy, didn't think I would see you again so soon."
Fluttershy smiled as she nodded. "Yes, it is nice to see you again."
Twilight walked forward and spoke to the Pegasus. "Well, the music sounded beautiful. I came here to check up on the music for the celebration."
Fluttershy dropped to the ground and shyly kicked her leg as she looked away from the new pony.
Twilight smiled as she introduced herself. "I'm Twilight Sparkle, what's your name?"
Fluttershy looked anywhere but at Twilight as she spoke in a very soft voice. "I'm… I'm Fluttershy."
Twilight couldn't hear what was said and asked. "I'm sorry what was that?" she got the same result but this time, Fluttershy tried to hide behind her mane.
Danny stood to the side of the two as he could see that this was getting uncomfortably awkward. "Oookay." he gestured with his hoof to the pegasus. "Twilight, this is Fluttershy. She is a bit shy. I figured that out when I first met her but she is a really nice mare." He then looked to Fluttershy as he gestured to Twilight. "Fluttershy, this is Twilight. She just came to Ponyville to check up on things."
Fluttershy felt a bit better knowing that Danny was there to help her out. She lifted her head and spoke in a bit louder voice. "um, ….hi."
Twilight smiled, more naturally this time, and returned the small greeting. "Hello, well I can see that you have the music ready to go. I look forward to hearing it during the celebration."
Fluttershy nodded as she gave a small smile.
Twilight then turned to make her way to Spike as he was waiting behind the bush, looking over the list to make sure that they didn't miss anything. "Well, that was easy."
Danny watched Twilight for a second before looking at Fluttershy, only to see the shy pegasus gain a beaming smile before he found himself flipping in the air and landing on his head with his legs dangling. "What hit me?" He looked to the birds to see them point behind him. He readjusted himself to see where they were pointing to see Fluttershy looking at Spike with a cute expression.
"A baby dragon. He's sooooo~ cute."
Spike looked behind him at Twilight, who was also bulldozed by the pegasus. "Well well."
"Oh, he talks too. I didn't know dragons could talk."
Danny got to his hooves and shook his head before he chuckled a the sight of Fluttershy getting excited at the sight of Spike. "Guess she can get out of her shell when there is something that really catches her interest." He watched as Fluttershy floated in the air in happiness. "Huh, so that's what it looks like."
Twilight got up from the ground and used her magic to pick Spike up and placed him on her back. "Well, it was nice meeting you but we really should get going."
Fluttershy gasped as she didn't want them to leave yet. "Wait! I want to know more about him, please."
Spike smiled as he began to speak. "Well, if you want I don't mind telling you."
Twilight groaned as she began making her way toward the library with Spike beginning to tell Fluttershy about his life.
Danny hummed at the sight before looking at the birds that were left on the tree. "Hmm, I guess that ends the session. Try and get a bit more practice in and don't forget my advice." Seeing the birds nod, he began to follow the others at a much more leisurely pace. "I think I'm getting the hang of this place."
Danny was looking up to see that the sun was lowering and was wondering what he should do now. Well, since he got the fresh air he needed, going back to the library and finding another book to read. He didn't really read that many books since he spent some time figuring out how to hold the book. There was also the fact that he had only skimmed some of them as they didn't catch his interest. He did find an adventure book that seemed interesting but it was volume four and he figured that he should start with volume one so he would understand things he might come across.
He was brought out of his thoughts when he noticed something irregular. There were no ponies out at the time. He paused in walking and looked around. His muscles tensed as he found it unnerving that there was no sign of movement in a town."Something's wrong." He looked ahead to see Fluttershy pick up Spike and flew into the library with Twilight following them. Not wanting them to be alone while the rest of the town seemed to be abandoned, he ran after them. He Absentmindedly wondered why they were at the library but his need to make sure they were ok took precedence. It was to his surprise that he crashed into Fluttershy and Twilight as the latter tried to push Fluttershy out of the library.
The three tumbled into the Library till they reached the center. Or what they could only assume was the center since it was so dark in there that they couldn't see anything.
Danny groaned as he stood up. "Sorry about that. Didn't expect to crash into you two." thanks to his enhanced senses, he had the ability to see in pitch-black darkness. Somthing he learned to do after so many instances when he was in a dark area that had no lights. By focusing a small amount of Ecto energy into his eyes, he could see a couple of feet in front of him. He had practiced this so much that it had almost become second nature to him. He would be able to see further if he focused more energy but if he did, it would make his eyes glow and Sam and Tucker had told him that it looked creepy.
Fluttershy stood up and shook her head. "It's ok. I don't think we are hurt."
Twilight shook her head as she let out a deep sigh. "At least I made it to the library. You two should probably head home since it is getting late. We should find the light switch so that it would help. Now, where is it?"
On cue, the lights turned on to reveal every pony in town around the four.
"SURPRISE!"
Twilight and Spike were surprised about the… well, surprise
Fluttershy already knew about it since Pinkie Pie had told her about the surprise party earlier, so she just smiled.
Danny, though…. "GAH!" Jumped back on instinct and crashed into the wall, causing his eyes to spin. Shaking his head, he calmed his nerves and looked up from the ground. "I saw my life flash before my eyes….. Least I can say it wasn't boring." He was helped up by another pony ns smiled at who he saw. "Oh, hey, Cheerilee."
Cheerilee smiled at him as she helped him up. "I see you were surprised by Pinkies little party."
Danny raised an eyebrow at her. "You call this little? Isn't this everypony in town?"
Cheerilee nodded. "When Pinkie Pie does a party, she makes sure everypony is there to enjoy it." She and Danny walked back into the center to be part of the party. "And what I was told was that this party is for both you and the new pony."
Danny gained a look of realization as he spoke. "Oh, so that's why she wanted to make me a cake." It was then that they made it to the food table and low and behold, there was a vanilla cake with the word "welcome" on it.
Cheerilee smiled at the cake. "And it looks like she was able to get your cake finished too." She looked to her right, and passed Danny, at the other table to see another cake, colored the same color as Twilight's coat. It was as she did this that her eyes noticed that Danny still had his bandage. "Hasn't that healed yet? I would have assumed that the bandage would have been replaced with something smaller based on the size."
Danny followed her gaze and shrugged. "I was told I can take it off after the whole celebration and it isn't bothering me that much." He looked at his cake and licked his lips. "Do you think I'll get in trouble if I eat some cake without asking Nurse Redheart?"
"That depends on your excuse to me when I find out."
Danny jumped in shock as he looked behind him to see said nurse giving him a bemused look. "Uh….. I didn't do it."
The nurse then smiled as she moved to the table and grabbed a cutting knife with her teeth and cut a piece of cake. Setting it on a plate, she handed it to Danny. "I think you are well enough to enjoy Pinkie's cake."
Danny narrowed his eyes at her before he slowly took the plate from her and held it on his hoof. Not seeing her as the type to trick him, he placed it down and took a bite. "Hmm!" He smiles as his cheeks bulged while he chewed.
The two mares had a laugh at the sight of him
Once Danny finished his snack, he looked at the two and was about to ask something, till….
"Incoming!"
Danny looked to the side to see Ditzy crashing into the table and causing the cake to fly off the table. "Woah!" Danny scurried back as he looked up at the cake in the air.
The ponies behind him gave him a wide berth as he curried back
Danny watched as the cake came down on him and he jumped onto his back and brought his hooves up to catch the plate the cake was on. His legs wobbled a bit but he was able to stabilize to cake on it.
The ponies applauded at the action he did with a few of them lifting the plate off his hooves and moving it back to the table.
"Sorry, Danny! I tripped on my hooves and crashed into the table!"
Danny got up and smiled at Ditzy who was apologizing. "Hey, relax. It was an accident and I was able to catch the thing before it crashed so no harm done." Danny felt his heart stop when Pinkie appeared out of nowhere and smiled at him
"Nice catch, Danny. So, were you surprised? Huhhuhhuh!?"
Danny felt his heart restart and nod to the pink pony. "Yeah, I can say that." he looked around to find Twilight moving over to the other table that had some drinks. "Was she surprised?"
Pinkie looked at where Danny was looking and smiled. "Don't know. Let's go ask!" She began to bounce over towards Twilight, leaving Danny behind.
Danny looked at the other three and smiled. "I'll be back in a second. Twilight seemed to want to come here and I wanna ask if there was a reason for it."
Cheerilee nodded. "Don't worry about us. We'll be here."
Danny nodded and made his way toward Twilight. Once he made it to her, he saw Pinkie asking the question. "I'm pretty sure she wasn't expecting all of the ponies here to yell out 'surprise'!"
Pinkie looked at him and rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "Well, duh~ It wouldn't be a surprise then. By the way, were you surprised?"
Danny chuckled as he nodded. "Yeah, and usually I don't like surprises but this one was a nice one."
Pinkie giggled as she bounced around him.
Danny chuckled as he watched her before looking at Twilight. Seeing the annoyed look on her face he figured he should try and help. "Hey, you ok?"
Twilight shook her head as she put down the bottle she was pouring into a cup for her to drink from. "No! I had something really important to do and this party is getting in the way."
Danny frown at that. "Aw, come on. Whatever it is your need to do can probably wait till tomorrow, right? I mean everypony here is celebrating and the Summer Sun Celebration is tomorrow. I'm pretty sure that whatever it is can wait."
"No, it can't!"
Danny sighed as he saw that Twilight was being adamant about whatever it was she needed. "Twilight, trust me, whatever it is can wait. I can tell that it is extremely important to you but if you focus on it too much you lose chances that you might not get before. Try to relax. If you do and have a bit of fun, you can find out something that you might not have noticed beforehand."
Twilight grumbled as she looked at him. "How do you know that?"
Danny couldn't help the chuckle from leaving his mouth as he thought about times during his heroing when he became so focused on being the hero that he almost lost a social life that kept him grounded. He was glad he had his friends to keep him from going that far.
Then there was the literal time he was spilt into both a fun-loving teen and a full-time stereotype superhero.
He looked at her as he answered. "Take it from someone that has been on the border of being overly focused on something that almost became obsessed with it, it's better to take a step back and hang out with friends as they can help you out in some odd ways."
As if on cue, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie grouped together behind him.
Twilight shook her head. "I don't have time for friends." she turned back to her drink and was about to take a sip before she was pulled away.
Danny pushed Twilight in front of the other mares before stepping in between the two. "Oh, yes you do. Twilight, meet the most interesting mares in Ponyville. And I can say that since I met them and they had the most interesting first impressions I have ever had….. And that's saying something."
AppleJack gave him a narrowed look. "Now whatcha mean by that?"
Rainbow pounded her chest as she stood proud. "He means that he never seen anypony like us."
AppleJack shook her head. "I don't think he meant something good about that."
Danny smiled at her. "No, it is a good thing. I've met a lot of bad…. Ponies in my life and a lot of them ended up with a fight."
Rarity shook her head. "Honestly, Darling, you should have found ways to end it peacefully."
Danny sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "Trust me, I would have if I could."
Pinkie bounced in front of him as she asked. "Did you make friends with them?"
"Some of them." He then looked to the purple mare. "And everypony, this is Twilight. The second newcomer to the town." He then noticed that there was someone missing. "Hey, where's Spike?"
Twilight looked around as she also wanted to know where he was. It was then that she saw Spike talking with a few young ponies. "Over there."
Danny looked over to see Spike talking to Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, and another young filly he didn't know. "At least he's making friends." he then looked to Twilight. "And so have you."
Twilight was a bit confused about the statement and was about to make a rebuttal. But I…."
Danny interrupted her as he looked at the other mares. "You don't need some grand display to make friends. Just meeting with them is enough." He then began to walk back towards his cake as he saw that a lot of ponies had taken slices already, and he wanted another slice. 'I may not have dad's level of obsession as he does with fudge, but I do like sweets and if that cake was made for me, I'm going to eat some. "Catch ya, girls, later!"
Twilight looked at the other mares and smiled nervously.
Danny made it to his table and saw that Miss Cake had joined the others. "Hey, Miss Cake."
Said Mare looked at him and nodded. "Hello, deary, I hope you are enjoying the party that Pinkie set up for you and the new mare, as well as enjoying the cake she made."
Danny nodded. "I can say that the cake was good but I better get my second piece before it's gone. He moved to the table and asked. "Did she really make both cakes for us? Seems like a lot for just one pony."
Miss cake shook her head. "Pinkie Pie is able to make multiple cakes at once when she puts her mind to it. But I will admit that I did help her out when I had some free time after finishing some of the pastries done for the celebration."
Danny carefully gripped the serving knife with his teeth and cut a piece before placing it on a plate. Putting the knife down, he looked at her. "Didn't you get a break? Sounds like you had no time to breathe."
Cheerilee chuckled as she spoke up next. "We are a very hardworking community. Put a challenge in front of us and we will do what we can to get it done."
Nurse Redheart nodded in agreement. "Not to mention that Miss Cake and Pinkie Pie are the best bakers in town."
Danny looked Miss cake up and down and could tell based on her appearance alone that being a baker is her life. "Well, don't ever get me in the kitchen. I can't bake for the life of me."
Ditzy tilted her head as she asked. "Is it so hard? Even I can bake so anypony can do it."
Danny looked at her and shook his head. "I can cook but baking never seemed to click with me. Last time I tried, the oven exploded." 'though, that might have been because of what my parents did to the appliance.'
Cheerilee stepped forward and brought up her thoughts. "Well, maybe you can have Miss cake teach you. No one better to do it than a pony whose cutie mark labels her as a baker."
Ditzy then looked at Danny as if she was curious. "By the way, what's your talent? I can't guess since it's covered up."
Danny looked at the bandage covering both of the silhouettes of the rocket he had before looking at Nurse Redheart, who seemed to be fidgeting a bit. Thinking about what he could say, he answered honestly. "It's space related. I have a thing for looking up at space and I love learning about the stars and stuff like that."
The mares nodded with Redheart sighing in slight relief.
It was then that Danny noticed Twilight puffing out her cheeks and tearing up. He knew that look as the look of someone eating something way too hot for their tastes. He was about to go see if she was ok when she bolted away and up the stairs. "Wonder if she's ok?" he moved over to the other mares with the one he was talking with joining him.
~Meanwhile~
Celestia had been standing on the balcony of her castle for the last few hours as she looked up at the moon. She hadn't taken her gaze off the moon as she waited for the very moment she had been awaiting and dreading. "Any moment now….." Her eyes shifted to the stars that were closing on on the moon and almost saw them as a countdown. She was glad that she was the only one in the castle at the moment as everyone in Canterlot had headed off to Ponyville to enjoy the Celebration. She had even sent her guards, telling them that she would arrive on her own in order to make her entrance.
But that was an excuse.
The real reason for her sending all the guards there was because….
Celestia saw the moon shimmer with a dark shadow as she gulped.
It was time.
"Hello, sister."
Celestia closed her eyes as she heard the voice that filled her with a pang in her heart. "Hello, Nightmare Moon." she turned around to see the corrupt form of her sister standing there."
"What, not happy to see your long-forgotten sister."
Celestia eyed her before she answered. "I would be more thrilled if Luna was the one standing in front of me."
"And yet, I am the one that stands in front of you. And now that you do not have the elements with you and the insufferable foal is long gone, you will suffer for what you have done."
Celestia raised an eyebrow at the statement. 'Does she not know that Danny has been released already? I suppose that will be another surprise from Danny then.'
Nightmare Moon then flared her horn as she took a threatening step forward. "Now, let us end this."
Celestia brought her hooves together and stood there without any signs of defending herself. "So end it."
Nightmare Moon froze for a second as she could not believe what she was seeing. "What?"
Celestia shook her head. "I shall not defend myself. I have already wronged you and I will not do anymore."
Nightmare moon narrowed her eyes for any sign of trickery but Celestia just stood there. No power-up a spell, no stance, nothing. She thought about this and figured that if Celestia wasn't going to do anything, she was going to make this sweet. Gaining a cruel smirk, she shot a blast at Celestia and encased the sun mare inside it. "Since you are being so generous, I shall send you to experience the very punishment you gave me!" channeling more magic, she began to send Celestia away to be trapped within the moon.
Celestia grunted as she was sent up toward the moon and she had one last hope. 'It's all up to you, Twilight, Danny, please….. Save Luna.'
~later~
Everypony was now at the venue as they awaited for their princess to arrive and start the longest day of the year.
Danny was overwhelmed by the number of ponies that moved that he had lost sight of his new friends. He wondered if this was how the people that went to Ember's concerts felt when she started going legit. He stood close to the entrance and decided he would find his friends later when the venue cleared and the second party started. He looked up to see the Pegasi flying to get a better view and jokingly said. "Wish I got wings instead of a new horn." he let out a chuckle as he thought about using his powers to get a better view, but quickly shook that thought away.
There was no reason for him to do that since there are other ponies that are in the same boat as he was.
He looked through the crowd again and was able to see Spike standing on who he assumed to be Twilight since he couldn't get a good look at her.
She was all the way in the front.
"She lucked out." He decided to sit down and wait for the whole thing to start. He was able to see Rainbow Dash flying up next to Fluttershy and say something to her before they went to their designated spots.
The whole thing started with the chorus of birds starting to sing and Danny couldn't help but make a mental note. 'Sounds like the bird got it right.' He saw a spotlight turn on and move to the front of the whole crowd and he heard the Mayor begin to speak to the audience.
"Fillies and Gentlecolts, as Mayor of Ponyville, it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration!"
Everypony began to cheer as they were excited to begin.
Danny gave a small cheer as this was the first time he had been to it and he didn't have as much enthusiasm as the rest.
"In just a few moments, our town will witness the magic of the sunrise and celebrate this, the longest day of the year!"
Twilight was nervous as she was hoping, praying to Celestia, that nothing bad would happen and it would just be a normal celebration. Feeling nervous, she looked up to the moon and noticed something wrong.
The second image, the mare, was gone.
The Mayor continued as the ponies stopped cheering. "And now, it is my great honor to introduce to you the ruler of our land, the very pony that gives us the sun and the moon each and every day. The good, the wise, the bringer of harmony to all of Equestria…."
'That's a bit long-winded.' was Danny's mental comment as he smiled at the excited ponies.
"Princess Celestia!"
Rarity yanked on a rope that pulled the curtains back to reveal…
Nothing
"What?!"
The ponies began to mutter to themselves as they wondered where their princess was.
Twilight's ears folded back as she became worried. "This can't be good."
Danny crossed his hooves as he had a gut feeling. 'Something's really wrong this time.'
The Mayor began to talk to the audience. "Remain calm, everypony, there must be an explanation."
Danny wondered what could have happened as he knew that Celestia wasn't one to shirk off things. Even if she wanted to. And this was something he knew she wouldn't since her subjects were here….. And there was cake. He got his answer when he saw something dark swirling in the spot where Celestia was supposed to be at. Something familiar. 'Oh, boy.'
Twilight lowered her head in fear as she knew what this was. "Oh, no."
Out of the dark swirl appeared the very Mare that Twilight feared would come.
"Nightmare moon."
The dark alicorn looked down upon the audience and chuckled. "Well, my beloved subjects. It's been so long since I had seen your precious sun-loving faces."
Everypony was shivering in fear as the sight brought fear into their hearts.
Cheerilee was standing in front of the young fillies and colts protectively.
Ditzy was poking her head out of a vase as she had accidentally crashed into the wall and fell in
Rainbow Dash scowled at her as she demanded. "What did you do with our princess!?" she was about to fly up and attack her but was stopped when AppleJack bit down on her tail and held her back.
"Woah, there Nelly."
Nightmare moon chuckled darkly as she asked. "Why? Am I not royal enough for you? Don't you know….who I am?"
"Yes, I do."
Everypony looked to the one who spoke and saw Twilight walking forward.
Twilight glared up at the alicorn. "You're the one spoken in legend. The Mare in the moon, Nightmare Moon."
The name caused everypony to gasp in fear as they stepped back.
The Alicorn smirked down at the unicorn. "Well well well, somepony remembers me. Then you must know why I am here.
Twilight felt her bravado leave her as she stuttered out. "You're here to…. T-to… um…"
The alicorn chuckled once more. "Remember this day, little ponies, for it was your last. From this moment forth, the Sun shall never RISE AGAIN! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Her starry mane swirled around the room, scaring all of them stiff
Twilight panicked as she tried to think of what to do.
"You would think that after the last time, you would have gotten a different goal. You need a different hobby other than monologuing like a typical bad guy.
The whole venue went silent as they heard that.
The alicorn looked down to see that the ponies were separating as somepony was walking through the crowd.
The ponies then fully separated and gave the pony a very wide berth, revealing who it was.
Nightmare moon gasped at the sight. "You!"
"Hoo." Danny smirked up at her as he now stood almost dead center of the venue. "Happy to see me?"
Her nostrils flared as she bared her teeth. "I thought I was rid of you for good!"
Danny waved a hoof nonchalantly. "Oh, I had a doctor's appointment that I couldn't ignore. Apparently, I need more fiber in my diet."
The ponies that had gotten to know him were all whispering for him to get out of there and not provoke her.
Twilight moved slightly closer to him and whispered. "Danny, what are you doing?!"
Danny didn't take his eyes off the alicorn as he whispered back. "Stay back, Twilight."
Twilight didn't know why but she obeyed his suggestion and stepped back as her eyes went back and forth between the two.
In fact, everypony was doing the very same thing.
Nightmare moon flapped her wings as she lifted up her two front hooves. "Do you seek to stand in my way once more?! You could barely handle me yourself when we first fought."
Everypony was wondering what she meant by that. They knew the story of Nightmare Moon and the last time she was seen was a thousand years ago. How could they have fought?
Danny's smirk dropped into one more neutral. "Last time I was just trying to stall you. Last time I wanted to save you. And last time I was holding back. This time….."
Suddenly, Everypony felt the temperature drop and the venue gained a faint white tint.
"...I'm going to beat you until you get it."
Everypony (I'm using that a lot) gasped as a white and blue disk appeared just under Danny. The wind picked up till some ponies had to look away at the force of it. The wind blew away the bandages Danny had to reveal his forsaken marks for all to see.
The circle gained a ring on the edge that had small white flames before it began to spin around for a few seconds then it began to rise.
The disk lifted up Danny's body, shifting not only his coloration but also his body. The tufts of fur around his hooves gained volume and changed from the tan color it was into pure white with his hooves becoming black. The white fur stopped halfway up his lower legs before it shifted into pitch black. The disk continued changing his fur into black and turned the black cutie mark into his flaming DP logo, he gained large wide wings with the frame being black and the feathers being pure white but glowing light blue and a sparkling blue mist coming off the feathers, his black mane became pure white and gained length as it fluttered in the wind much like Nightmare moon's, and his eyes became glowing green.
Everypony was shocked at the sight of another alicorn appearing. The ones that had gotten to know Danny were more shocked to see it and some of them noticed that he had gotten taller. In fact, it almost looked like he had become bigger than Nightmare moon.
Danny absentmindedly made a mental note. 'Did the room get a bit smaller?'
Twilight though had another thought. "'A pony with fur darker than the abyss stood by Celestia's side to face off against Nightmare moon'…. Is Danny….?"
A white frosty aura swirled around Danny's new form and clashed with Nightmare moon's starry aura, causing sparks to appear, frightening the ponies.
Danny's eyes shifted left and right as he saw them react to it. His gaze turned back to Nightmare moon as they glared at each other. "It won't be as easy this time, Nightmare." His voice seemed to gain a small bellow to it as he spoke.
Said female alicorn huffed out her nose. Adding power to her voice, she matched his tone. "I will end you for good this time. Nopony will save you from my wrath!"
Danny smirked at her as he spread his wings, causing a small shockwave to disperse the auras. "Well, then…" Jumping back and doing a multi-backflip, he floated in the air before taunting. "Let's take this outside!" He flew up and phased through the ceiling.
Nightmare moon grit her teeth as she watched him leave before she flew out the door and up to above the building to meet with him.
Gasps came from all in the venue as they didn't realize they held their breath.
AppleJack sat down as she took her hat off and wiped her forehead. "Hooey~, what was all that?"
Rainbow Dash shook her head. "I don't know, but we gotta find our princess! Nightmare Moon did something so let's go look!"
Twilight's eyes were lingering on the door as she thought back to the legend she read. The only thing that was able to beat Nightmare moon was the Elements of Harmony. Sure the legend said the black pony fought but ultimately lost. 'I need to learn more about the elements!' Picking Spike up onto her back, she ran off back to the library to find anything she could about the Elements.
This caught the attention of a few ponies as they watched her leave
Rainbow Dash narrowed her eyes as she wondered. "Where's she going?"
Twilight paused as she looked above the building they were in to see the two floating up there. She didn't know what they were doing but she had her own task and got back to running.
Danny had phased through the ceiling and waited for Nightmare Moon to appear. He saw the dark Alicorn fly out of the main entrance and join him in the air. "Took you long enough."
She sneered at him. "You are as insufferable as ever."
Danny shrugged as he smiled. "I'd like to think I just have a certain charm."
The two floated in the sky with the female of the two flapping her wings to stay afloat while the other just floated.
Nightmare Moon was the next to speak. "I shall make sure you never bother me again."
"Well, you better show me what you've got, Nightmare moon." He tensed his muscles as he seemed to get into a stance.
Nightmare Moon spread her wings as she was ready to begin this battle.
"Well, Nightmare Moon, let's go! ROUND 2!"
The two charged at each other as the battle a thousand years old starts once more.
End of chapter
I originally thought this chapter would only be 4k to 5k words. But it turned into 10k. Damn my ability to write has gotten longer
Well, the Celebration has come and was canceled before anyone could enjoy it.
As seen in this chapter, I am adjusting things to be more coherent, instead of convenient. Like the part with Celestia and Nightmare Moon. In the show, it was only seconds from the release of Nightmare moon and the disappearance of Celestia. That is why I added the scene of Celestia and Nightmare moon happening much earlier than the actual event.
the bit about Celestia's flank was a gag I found online that was humorous
There is kind of a retcon in this chapter, not so much against the show but more toward how I set up the first few chapters. But I have an explanation for it later on. If you haven't found it, that's fine.
This fic is a bit more Danny-centric as he is the one that is new to this world. I'll try and spread out the character focus aspect as best I can as I move forward.
One thing I want to bring up is that the reason Danny is more mature is because he has already gone through many of his adventures in his world and learned lessons from them. The Mane 6 haven't done so yet, so Danny is kind of the senior in the MC role.
Danny's "new" form is just him being bigger with a much wider wing span. He is slightly bigger than Luna but smaller than Celestia. I have an explanation for this but I could just say "cartoon/fic logic". However, I like coming up with plausible explanations to give more credence to them.
Trying to give more of the ponies screen time since they seem like side characters and I figured that they can use a bit more build on them. Building more friendships than pairings since Danny is going to need friends moving forward. Heroes need friends
On that note, I was told that Miss Cake has a husband and child in the future. So I'm thinking of removing her from the potential pairing option. I don't think there is any character I would hate or dislike in a series like this. But I don't know. I looked up Miss Cake's husband and I don't think there is anything wrong with him so I have no urge to deny him happiness. Sure, it's a fic and I could pair him with someone else but I don't know the series enough to think of a potential for him.
Cheerilee and Nurse Redheart were put on the potentials because from what I could find, there isn't much about them apart from their jobs and some minor personality aspects. Ditzy is apparently a fan favorite so why not
About Ditzy, is it Ditzy or Derpy? I keep finding those two names put on her as well as a bit about her having a daughter. No clue so help me out here.
also a side note, I noticed a majority of the ponies on screen are females. Some odd thing I noticed but I can only assume it is because of the theme the series has. (I mean no offense)
Also, something I think I'm going to do about some of the battles in this as I am going to give them more "fight" to them. As I did with the fight between Celestia, Nightmare Moon, and Danny. The clips I've seen about the series show that there isn't really much of a fight between the villain and heroes, rather the heroes get a clear shot and take it, ending the thing.
There was a review that brought up the idea of Danny becoming a new element to join the elements of Harmony. (Don't remember who but I'll remember when I get to the reviews section). Should I do this? And if I do, what Element would he even be? I think the reviewer said something like "hope" but I also thought that he could be the element of "will". Not to mention that if I do this I would have to come up with a design for the physical representation of the element and draw it out for future reference.
Anyway, there was also a review of about Danny singing a song during the next fight. As interesting an idea that is, not to mention I actually thought of something like that for much later in the fic, I don't know what song Danny would sing for it. A suggestion was given but I am iffy on the choice as I have trouble seeing Danny sing that specific song as it doesn't match the purpose of the fight, not completely.
Suggestions would be nice but if I can't make a solid decision, I might cut out the singing bit from the fight
Flames will be ignored.
