"Danny, are you sure you can handle things alone?" The ghost boy held his phone out as he was on a call. Sam's voice was crisp and clear, as was Tucker's, as the trio talked during their patrol.
"Yeah, dude. I'm all for going to the party of the night, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna leave you to fight all the ghosts by yourself," Tucker said.
"Guys, relax. I'm fine." Danny spoke calmly as he floated carelessly through the night sky. The moonlight made his pasty face glow a little as he took to a relaxed position with his back to the ground. "It's been a quiet night, in a sense."
"Dude!" Tucker could be heard slapping his head from the other end.
"I'll be fine. Come on, it's me." Danny's remark did nothing to sway his friends. They had been and continued to be his best friends since kindergarten, and the duo would not leave him stranded.
The ghost boy sighed, knowing how they cared for his well-being too much to give into popularity, hormones, or anything else. He always called it a blessing.
"If it helps, my parents are also out on patrol and Valerie is doing a round."
"And that is supposed to help how? Last I checked, both have Danny Phantom on their hit list, especially the latter," Sam commented. Sometimes, she would wonder what goes through her best friend's mind during these nightly patrols.
It was bad enough that the best ghost fighter in town was only a teenager, balancing school, teen drama, and ghosts, but Halloween was the worst night. And she did not need to be on patrol to know she was right.
Ghosts were spontaneously popping up out of nowhere as the screams of people could be heard throughout neighborhoods. It was a good thing to have backup, but without Sam and Tucker, Danny's "assistance" would fire at him, no questions asked.
"Just be careful, alright," Sam conceded as Tucker sighed on the other end.
"Don't worry." Danny waved one hand nonchalantly. His friend did not see the gesture. "This is honestly nothing new, which is the scary part, so I'll be fine."
"And the Fright Knight?" Tucker asked.
"You mean, the ghost I just have to trap in a pumpkin? Around all the jack-o-lanterns?" Danny snarked.
That was the winning point as the two friends were silent, nodding on the other end. They conceded and left their best friend to his own devices as they now headed home to prepare for the Halloween party.
Danny's words proved honest as he flew through the darkness. Looking down, the flashlights of trick-or-treaters danced along the streets as kids carried candy by the bucket.
There was such a time when he was a kid. And while he could never go out as a ghost, the memories of counting and trading candy with his friends were refreshed in his mind as a smile widened. If it were not for the blue wisp that escaped from his mouth, he would have walked down memory lane for as long as possible.
"Alright. Time to get to work." He cracked his knuckles and rolled his shoulders, his glowing green eyes growing brighter.
While thankfully, this famously haunted town has its local half-ghost boy protecting Amity Park from these menacing, ghastly creatures, the local ghost hunters, The Fentons, did provide some annual assistance during this festive holiday. Despite their usual overbearing excitement for a chance to fight, hunt, and dissect the supernatural spirits, usually making them goofballs in the eyes of the citizens, tonight was different.
And said ghost hunters were last seen speeding in their customized RV-turned-ghost-assault vehicle in an ongoing chase after a horde of ghost rabbits that were running away from the big tank-like car as a herd. Unlike ordinary rabbits, each member of the pack was as tall as the RV and as bulky as a small bodybuilder.
"Maddie quick, can you make any sense why the ecto-locator keeps freezing on me? I'm pretty sure that these ghostly rabbits are running towards south, the dial still slowly pointing towards the E," Jack asked as he taps on the screen.
"Jack, that's the fuel gage. The ecto-locator is on the other side of the window screen," Maddie corrected her husband.
"Oh...so this button with the little picture of a net is..."
"The newly installed anti-ghost net launcher, yes. Do you want to do the honors?"
"Let's do it together, babe! Eat net, bunnies!" Jack shouted as he and his wife both launched two sets of anti-ghost nets that captured the horde of ghost rabbits, much to the ghost hunter's enjoyment, despite the several lamposts they dented along the chase.
And Fentons weren't the only ghost hunters keeping Amity Park safe on Halloween. Valerie Gray, better known by the alias Red Huntress, was currently on her jet board hunting down every ghost in the skies, with a notable need to capture these ghosts quickly and finish her ghost hunt as fast as possible. Unlike the Fenton's costume and gear, the girl flew wearing advanced nanotechnology that had been infused with her on a microscopic level, almost mimicking her set of ghost powers.
Utilizing the futuristic character of the suit, she summoned several cubical turrets that fired on her command. Nothing was out of her sight as she mowed down anything in her path that could phase through walls.
"Come on already! How many more of you spooks are gonna show up tonight?!" Valerie complained. She was already breaking a personal record in capturing ghosts on a single night, having already caught five dozen ghosts resembling crows, squids, eagles, flying stingrays, falcons, and some giant hummingbirds.
"I finally make plans to have some fun and go to the biggest Halloween party of the year! And I'm not letting a bunch of ghosts get in my way of doing just that!" Valerie shouted, really wanting to spend some free time for herself tonight.
Almost as if the ghosts had heard her then, a ghostly griffin roared at the Red Huntress as if to challenge her. Valerie turned at the new flying ghost that she had to deal with and sighed as she ready her ecto-blast.
"Sure, why not? Bring it on, ya birdbrain! Just another notch on my belt!" Valerie shouted, glaring down at the ghost griffin.
The two individuals charged at one another with red and green respective blasts aimed at each other.
For the entirety of the night, it had been down to random ghostly animals terrorizing the town. Danny had expected this, but was surprised to see an absence of his spectral rogue gallery. There was no Box Ghost, Skulker, Ember, Spectra, or Johnny 13. Not even his archnemis appeared. However, Vlad was not one to appear without motive beyond a fight.
That was a blessing as his thermos was almost full, beeping the status repeatedly. It would soon be time to head home and release the confined spirits back into the Ghost Zone. Looking back, the ghost boy practically heard screams of joy as the streets resumed it traditional partying and trick-or-treating.
Danny dug into his pockets, pulled out his cell phone, and saw it had only been an hour since the call with his friends. Maybe with all the spirits captured, he could have time to enjoy himself for once.
Not waiting for life to jinx him, he jetted home, looking at the lights of the Country club on the outskirts of town. The party was still burning candlelight in the fluorescent, kaleidoscopian colors it flourished.
However, any festive emotions were cut short as a bright purple flame was caught in his peripheral vision. Quick reflexes and months of fighting allowed Danny to swiftly dodge the oncoming attack as he took note of the violet gemstone that missed him.
Only one ghost signed that attack, and it was the catch of the holiday.
Turning around, Danny saw the imposing visage of the Fright Knight on his flying bat-winged alicorn. His signature purple flames danced along his dark armor and cape as he handled his mount, Nightmare. Another gemstone formed int her palm of his free hand as he eyed the ghost boy.
"Oh yeah. Great," Danny sighed, dropping his body and picking himself up. "I forgot you like to ride around this time of the year. Especially since you're free to do...whatever it is you like."
Putting away the thermos, a pair of ecto-charged knuckles flared up.
"YOU DARE TO FACE ME ON THIS NIGHT!? WHEN I REIGN SUPREME!?" The Fright Knight dispelled the gemstone as he reached for his blade, the Soul Shredder, and swung it invitingly. The sword burned brightly with ghostly green ectoenergy as it stopped, aimed at the boy in front of it.
"You see anyone else willing to fight you?" Danny quipped.
"VERY WELL. I ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE! PREPARE FOR THE HORROR THAT IS THE FRIGHT KNIGHT!"
The knight whipped the reigns on Nightmare as the alicorn cried out a terrible roar from its fiery mouth. Charging forear with Soul Shredder pointed like a lance, the two closed the distance as the ghost boy flew fast with glowing hands.
Danny fired ectoblasts before breaching personal space. While this foe only appears sparingly, the knight was one of his most powerful adversaries and was not to be taken lightly. However, that was not enough as the attacks were swatted away easily as fists and sword collided. But one scratch from Soul Shredder meant more than needing a new arm.
If one edge of the ghostly blade hit him, the fight would over and the ghost boy would find himself transported to another dimension.
Serpentining around the swing, this provided the perfect moment to even the playing field as the ghost boy focused pure icy ectoblasts as the knight's back. He never stopped concentrating, adding the layers of ice for as long as possible before the armored ghost turned.
"I'd say chivalry is dead, but its hard to say being a ghost." Danny chuckled at his own joke.
It was time to close in the gap and deliver a quick punch as the Fright Knight flexed his way out of the cold grip of ice. It only took a second, but Danny managed to land his fist into the gap on the knight's helmet, square in the face.
That same fist was grabbed by the arm as the ghost boy and knight fell a few feet. If the latter had not kept a hand on the reigns, they would have fallen further.
In one swift motion, the ghost boy was thrown away as the knight remounted himself, all while readjusting his helmet.
"IT SEEMS THE KNAVE HAS LEARNED A FEW TRICKS! NONETHELESS, IT WON'T HELP YOU! A KNAVE IS STILL A KNAVE!"
The ghost duel converted into a stare-off as its contestants waited for the other to make the next move. Danny would fire off a few rounds, but they did nothing to provoke his opponent into lashing out.
As they waited, the music from the party blasted in the background. The sound of a metal helmet turned was heard, piquing the curiosity of the knight. News travels fast in the Ghost Zone, but this was the first he was seeing about glamourous festivities being held in the town.
Danny took this moment to tackle, throwing all his weight into throwing off the knight and horse. But he put too much effort into the speed as the three ghosts snowballed into a glowing green comet that flew towards the party.
Meanwhile, the party was getting livelier by the minute, with flashing lights, loud music, and louder sounds of people having fun. Many party-goers were having the time of their young lives. Sam and Tucker had arrived, dressed for the event. Well, at least one of them was, while the other barely put much effort or thought into her costume.
Tucker was dressed as none other than the great Albert Einstein. His costume included a comfortable and slightly frumpy wooly vest, a white lab coat, black leather boots and gloves, white hair, and a mustache. He made a fake belly out of a plastic bag under his clothes to secretly stuff it with candy and extra party food for him to eat later.
Sam, on the other hand, didn't put much effort into her costume. Part of her would protest Ashli's party with a colorfully worded t-shirt, but Tucker insisted she at least try not to be a buzzkill. A purple sheet covered her body from head to toe, with two eye holes cut out as she walked silently.
"You sure it was an okay idea to come to this huge party dressed up like that, Sam?" Tucker asked while eating some party cake and stuffing some into a container before putting it into a trick-or-treat bag.
"And blend into a sea of cliche and cheaply made costumes? Forget it," Sam responded. The volume of the classic Halloween songs dulled her mind as her friend went back to noisily chowing down on some food.
Tucker was midway into a slice of cake when he saw the most beautiful item at the buffet: a line of steaks ranging from four to sixteen ounces in size. While cakes and candy were the norm, to see such a glistening row of marbled meats had entranced the boy into dropping his slice and gliding over to the adjacent table holding this motley of meats.
Drawing a fork and steak knife, the boy drooled in anticipation as he eyed the thickest of the sixteen-ounce variety. The marbled prime cut was evenly cook as the smell of soy sauce, lemon, garlic, salt, pepper, and Worchester filled his nose.
Sweet mother of mutton, Tucker could not wait to grab a plate and began to raise his fork.
However, his skewer missed as the steak was swiped away before him. The boy shed a tear after the utensil bent in dismay on the severing board, mourning the loss of a perfect Halloween feast he never dreamt possible. Anger festered with narrowed eyes, ready to give the assailant a piece of nerd rage, only to drop as quickly as it came.
The culprit was Clawdeen in her leotard and Letterman jacket, scarfing the slabs of meat like pizza slices. She paid no mind to the boy nor the crowd that drew as she went about, devouring five servings of the cooked rare delicacies instantly. A burp escaped the wolf girl, pausing her voracious appetite as she grabbed a napkin to wipe her mouth clean.
The crowd cheered as she jumped a bit, now noticing the teens as they celebrated her display of teenage gluttony.
This strange reaction from the normies took aback the werewolf girl, but she than remembered that she's here to help Spectra get an interview with Danny Phantom. So the wolf-girl decided to ask some of the cheering normies if any of them knew where to find him.
"Say, do any of you know where to find Danny Phantom?" Clawdeen asked.
Except for cheers, all the ghoul got for an answer was an "I don't know," or something along the lines of goading her into continuing her streak gorging. Not even Tucker could resist cheering on, entranced from the moment.
However, this excitement did not stop this sentence from coming out of the technogeek's mouth.
"I doubt you'd get his attention eating steak. Next time, try doing that at Casper High," he said.
"Casper High," Clawdeen repeated, grabbing the last two steaks. Without a word, she walked away, scarfing down the morsels as her crowd groaned.
With her question answered, she walked over to her friends to share her news. Just in time for the ghostly fight to crash land into the party.
And that brought everything to the present as Danny and the Fright Knight stared off. The crowd parted, giving the two ample room fro their fight.
The ghost boy mentally berated himself for allowing this to land in the middle of a crowded area, especially the party he wanted to attend. Speed and power were becoming more of a priority as he locked eyes with his foe.
Danny thought quickly, focusing his ice powers in his cupped hands. A cold breeze came as the blue energy sprang out from his hands, shaping itself into a ice sword for the ghost boy to even the playing field. It was simple in design, almost looking like the wooden swords kids would play with, but with a sharp edge. The crowd cheered at the display, pulling out their phones to record the moment.
The ghouls stared in awe.
"Oh my ghoul! It's really him! It's Danny Phantom!" Both Draculaura and Frankie spoke in shocked unison, while Clawdeen was left speechless.
"Oh Thank Ra, I almost thought that we weren't going to find him." Cleo said, glad that she and her ghoulfriends managed to find Danny Phantom, but also remembered the situation they were in right now. Specifically, the agitated spirit of Halloween staring at the ghost boy with intent to kill.
"YOU THINK TO BEST ME IN A DUEL OF SWORDMANSHIP!? FOOL! YOU ARE BUT A KNAVE AGINST MY SKILL!" The knight bellowed.
"I can try," Danny proclaimed. He leaped forward and swung the weaponized icicle as the Fright Knight brought Soul shredder perpendicular to his chest. The blade was kept still as the ice blade was brought down with all his strength.
In an instant, the two blades met as the knight's opponent landed with a skid. The ghost boy's face was contort in anger as a bead of sweat formed on his forehead. One look and the ice blade was now cleaved in half. The remnant fell to the ground, shattering.
"That does not look good," Frankie said with an audible gulp.
"You can say that again." Clawdeen commented.
"Should we try to help him?" Draculaura asked as some of her friends stared at her with slow turns.
"Ahhh?!..." Ghoulia grunted with a questionable tone.
"Ghoulia's right Draculaura, how are we going to be of any help to Superhero Halfa against that?" Lagoona pointed at the knight as he lunged once more at Danny. The ghost boy flipped over, retaliating with a kick to the head.
The attack knocked the knight past their boundaries. Some teens, out of idiotic or worse ideas, tried to snap a selfie for social media, #spectragram.
A glare from the rising knight dissuaded them as teens began screaming. Those like Dash and Paulina were the loudest as they instinctively began pushing and shoving anyone in their respective way in order to run to safety at breakneck speeds. The latter had pushed Ghoulia out of her way and made the zombie girl hit the ground.
"Hey, watch who you're shoving!" Cleo shouted as she helped Ghoulia get up.
"Oi, watch it ya nobhead! I guess chivalry ain't all that common even for normies." Lagoona grumbled the last statement, while getting help from Clawdeen.
Soon, more teens were running back. Some only took a few meters, while others ran to the clubhouse or bordering gardens as the fight continued. Danny was doing his best to keep the kids out of harm's way, but fear was overwhelming the crowd one by one. It was not long till another of the ghouls, Lagoona, was knocked down.
Frankie and Draculaura saw their friends falling to the floor, and they both immediately turned around to go help their friends. Before either of the ghouls could get close to their friends, both girls had the unfortunate luck of being another victim of the bull-rushing crowd.
"Ouch. I might have sprained my ankle from that!" Draculaura said with a shaking fist. Though sore, her leg was fine upon inspection.
"At least none of my stitching or my limbs got torn off this time," Frankie said. Considering nothing was missing, this was a sign of good fortune.
However, more panicked, costumed partygoers were still fleeing from the battle. Only a select few stayed, and anyone who tripped was either missed or accidentally trampled over, but nothing fatal.
"Draculaura! Frankie! Look Out!" Clawdeen shouted as she tried to race to her friends' rescue. Only to get delayed from bumping and crashing into more partygoers.
It looked as though Frankenstein girl and Vampire girl were about to be victims of said trampling. However, what came next not only surprised Frankie and Draculaura, but all the other monster girls too.
Two teens, a blonde teenager in a Supergirl costume and an Asian-American in a boxer's outfit, stood in front of the crowd, blockading the ghouls as the teens went around. This allowed Clawdeen and Cleo to help their fallen friends up as the short-lived stampede died down.
"Thanks," Draculaura said as she was pulled up. The pink vampire dusted off her skirt, looking over her top for anything out of place.
"No problem. If mean, like Supergirl would do the same," the blonde girl replied.
"I thought we weren't allowed to make nerd references," the boxer whispered to the girl.
"Kwan, do you see Dash or Paulina here?" Star jabbed an elbow into the boy.
"You mean, I didn't have to wear this thing?" Kwan pulled at the straps of his spandex. This year, he wanted to be a doctor.
"Umm...thank you." The two teens turned to see the mad doctor Frankie waving at them sheepishly. Her white lab coat still had some dirt from the fall with buttons loosened, yet she still wore a smile.
Kwan and Star shared a smile. They wanted to say more, but the sound of steel splitting the gourmet reminded the group they could potentially still be in the splatter zone.
"Y-you know...I think we should give them some room. Don't you think?" Frankie asked.
"Definitely! It's better to be safe rather than sorry, am I right?" Kwan asked, as he flashed a friendly smile.
Frankie nodded as she, the ghouls, Kwan, and Star retreated to safety. There, they could watch without worry. Still, the monster girls were worried as the battle continued.
Danny, while still unprepared, kept the clash on equal footing, dodging and partying each swing of the Soul Shredder. He got a solid hit in the ghost's solar plexus, sending the knight flying away into the DJ equipment, breaking two sets of speakers.
Dusting off his hands, the ghost boy looked around.
"I need to end this fight quick before any more people get hurt, but where the heck are the pumpkins in this place?" Danny muttered to himself. "There isn't even a Jack-o-lantern."
A blast hit the boy directly as the Fright Knight stormed over. He threw his blade down, firing another ecto-slash at his opponent, knocking the ghost boy into on the lanterns holding the Halloween decorations.
"I ADMIT, YOU'VE GROWN STRONGER SINCE OUR LAST ENCOUNTER! BUT YOU HAVE YET TO BEST MY POWER, ONE ON ONE!" The Fright Knight bellowed as he walked over. His steps trembled on the ground, freezing everyone in the vicinity in fear.
Sam and Tucker watched in horror, wondering what they could do to help.
All the while, Danny got up with a groan. There had not been a tough fight since an incident a few days ago, but it was to be expected. The light from the broken lantern flashed in his eyes, making him block it with a hand.
But something was seen inside the lamp. Something the ghost boy saw from the lit flames inside.
Whatever it was, Danny picked it up, slamming his other fist into the ground, summoning a wall of ice.
"I'm moderately impressed to see that you're on your feet after our clash, young halfa. Your demise is certainly worth my attention." Fright Knight said, almost sounding a little respectful if not for the menacing tone in his voice.
"What can I say, just I don't know when to give up." Danny said, still standing tall and ready to put an end to this fight. "Besides, I could this all knight."
"Are you certain of that half-ghost child? You look as though that you can barely handle one strike from my Soul Shredder." Fright Knight surmised. Holding his blade against the lights of the remaining lanterns, he scoffed. "I think it's time to end things."
The knight slightly knelt his knees and brought the Soul Shredder parallel to the ground. Pushing his feet against the ground, he launched himself, thrusting the blade in one go through the ice wall.
The crowd gasped as the ice began to crack, shattering the flimsy, oversized shield.
A glow came from the other side as the wall chipped. It grew from its meager light to a roaring bonfire coming from Danny's hands.
The Fright Knight tried to pull out the Soul Shredder, but his hands could not move the blade, nor could he release his grip. He felt a pull as ectoplasmic energy enveloped his body.
"What is this!?" The knight bellowed.
"Pretty nice party. I can't believe the host thought of making actual Jack-o-lanterns," Danny quipped, holding the glass lantern with a pumpkin in his hands.
With a dreadful howl, the Fright Knight was sucked into his blade, his steed following fast. Light exploded from the Jack-o-lantern as he was seated inside.
"So glad you can be sealed into one of these things," Danny muttered, holding the pumpkin mount, sword and all.
Floating up, the ghost boy waved at the crowd with a smile, showing it was now safe to party again.
It was only now that Danny realized that he still had an audience that had been watching his epic battle through windows and glass walls. He could even hear the cheers of the partygoers re-entering the courtyard from the building.
"Alright, Phantom!"
"That was awesome!"
"My hero!"
The crowd began chanting Phantom's name, attempting to take photos and selfies with the local hero.
The ghouls wanted to get a word in, especially a certain ghost girl, but the crowd of fans would not let them. Everyone was too starstruck to notice each other. Not even Paulina, with her self-proclamation as Phantom's love, could move an inch.
No one touched Phantom as the ghost boy flew up, waving goodbye as he carried the pumpkin holding the Fright Knight. Yeah, he did want to hang out, but he had to deal with the spirits already captured.
Then, he could party all he wanted.
Ashli whistled as she stared at Danny, looking over his features. The photos did not do his glowing green eyes and snowy white hair justice.
"So the rumors and myths really are true," Ashli said as she started her own recording of the ghost boy.
Meanwhile, the ghouls of Monster High were finally regrouping with each other and needed to figure out how to proceed from here together. However, something or someone was missing.
"Wait a minute." Draculaura looked around. "Where's Spectra?"
The ghouls now noticed they were short one member. She would not stick around anymore now that she saw Phantom fly off. This lead to the exit, where Frankie walked over, tripping after taking two steps.
The stitched-up girl rubbed her head. Reaching out, she picked up that which caused her to fall. The familiar feel of the cheap costume came to mind as she stood up, showing off the inverse cape and hunter cap.
"Isn't that...Spectra's costume? What in blazes is she thinking, ditching her disguise like that?" Lagoona said.
"That's not the only thing missing." Draculaura pointed to the ground. "Aren't those her boots?"
Clawdeen sniffed the air as Cleo and Ghoulia looked around the crowd, hoping to find a translucent glimpse of their missing friend. However, Spectra seemed to be long gone without a trace.
"I got some good news and bad news for you ghouls." Clawdeen said with a somber expression on her furry face. "Good new is that I managed to caught Spectra's ghostly scent."
"And I got better news," Cleo said, tapping in her iCoffin. "We have her number and can call her."
The werewolf blushed with drooping ears and a sheepish, fanged smile.
Danny had made it to the night sky when he felt a shiver as another blue wisp escaped his mouth. Sighing in partial defeat, the ghost boy readied an ectocharged fist, turning around out of instinct, knowing his unwanted guest was behind him.
"Alright, let's make this quick," Danny said.
"Alright then. My name is Spectra Vondergiest and I'd like an interview."

Jay has the answer to that question. Yes. An OC. Cause they are part of Casper High. It's like every other fan club, just spelled differently. A rival school that just exists.
1. Agreed, but they're necessary for story telling. 2. She certainly is. 3. Probably. 4. Probably happens more than he thinks. 5. It's not. 6. He certainly doesn't. 7. Who the heck is 'Manny'? 8. I wish she would. 9. A BATTLE OF TRUE EQUALS! 10. It's a Monster Mash, but with Humans/Normies instead. 11. Ask BCW. 12. An OC. 13. It's calling "World Building" for storytelling. 14. "Phan Club" is a Danny Phantom Fan Club. 15. Ask BCW.

1: Actually, there are reporters who do risk their lives for a story, including those who go to where battles are. If you think about it, its more common than you think. 2: She wil.
1. Thank you, I so totally agree with you on that. 2. Well, she is a ghost. So Yes, I think she will.

Yep.
You Bet He Does!
Invader Johnny:
Yep.
You could say that those two Crashed the Party. :D

I don't fully understand. There are hundreds of Danny Phantom fics. So chances are there are more than do focus on the Danny part.
Thank You. :)
IrishKatana:
Gotcha, but if you think about it, crows are probably birds goths like. So there's something of a pun there.
Oh! Okay, that's makes more sense now.

That's not bashing, more like stating facts. Never hesitate to say these things to me.
You make a Fair Argument. Also YAY Fright Knight, I think he's cool.
