Helping the Mayor Workout
After meeting up with the mayor, Raoh and Menat went with him to the mayor office where they also found a lone woman in red business looking clothes, and with a very mean look in her eyes.
"I hope you have a good explanation for being gone from the office." Marlowe glared.
"Come on, can't a guy just have a peaceful time walking outside to enjoy the fresh air?" Cody asked nervously with his hands up for defense.
"Not when you're supposed to be working on the stacks of paperwork, I gave you earlier and you still have a few papers left!" Marlowe pointed at the stack of papers on Cody's desk.
"(A few papers? That looks more like a few dozens.)" Raoh thought commented seeing the papers.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll get right on that." Cody sighed knowing he can't get himself out of this now.
"Anyway, would you mind having our guests here wait in the other room while I finish up the work?" Cody asked pointing his thumb at Raoh and Menat and Lucia.
"Very well, but this better not be another attempt to leave the office again to do whatever you want." Marlowe warned with her scary glare.
"(Now I can see why Cody doesn't want to make this woman mad, even I'm feeling scared of her.)" Raoh thought gulped.
"Please follow me to the waiting room." Marlowe gestured her hand to the door and the three follows her.
Raoh and Menat sat together on the couch while Lucia sat on a chair next to them as Marlowe tells them she'll bring back some snacks and tea for them to have for a while, she gave a quick glare at Raoh before leaving the room.
"What do you think that was all about?" Raoh wondered.
"Maybe she fears you were going to cause trouble for her and the mayor, but I'm pretty sure he already does that on his own." Menat tried to guess.
"Yeah, she's a little nicer to some who aren't bad people causing trouble for the city and Cody trying to take things in his own hands with beating up the bad guys while ignoring his duty." Lucia explained.
"Sounds like this man has a lot of problems for himself despite being the leader of this entire city and it looks like a lot of people are concern for him a bit." Raoh stated.
"Yeah, Cody has quite the reputation long before he became mayor like being a punk who just wants to have a good fight." Lucia chuckled.
"Now that's something you don't hear about a mayor." Menat surprised.
"Nobody is perfect, we all live and work hard to get by and Cody is no different though he did go through some hard times." Lucia said looking a little sad.
"Hey, have you heard about the Mad Gear Gang?" Lucia asked.
"Not to my knowledge, I never get out much of the world and I don't go searching through the internet either. Master says I just need to focus on my training of fortune-telling and Soul power." Menat explained about herself a little.
"I never gone out of the world either, I just kept on training my martial art style and that's it." Raoh said.
"Thought so, but just wanted to ask." Lucia nodded.
"Anyway, the Mad Gear was a big group that terrorized this city long ago and most people were scared of them, even the police had a really hard time in dealing with them despite their best efforts. I even heard they had a policeman on working on the inside." Lucia mentioned.
"Trying to take advantage of the enemies from the inside, clever and cruel tactic." Raoh commented.
"Yeah, the gang had almost control of Metro City until they were finally brought down by a few brave men who didn't like the gang very much." Lucia smiled.
"And I take it Cody was one of them?" Raoh asked.
"That's right, there was also the previous mayor named Hagger and another guy named Guy who is a freaking ninja! A ninja, can you believe that?" Lucia said sounding a little excited and surprised.
"I never met a ninja before, but it would be interesting to fight one." Raoh interested.
"Perhaps we may cross path with one soon." Menat smiled.
"So, these three guys went to fight off the Mad Gears by themselves and totally destroy the entire organization which has got to be the coolest thing that ever happened to the city!" Lucia smiled.
"The people we overjoy of the Mad Gear finally being put down; you could say the entire city had a party after that." Lucia remembered that day like it was yesterday.
"Everything went like normal with the city being free and everyone continue living their peaceful lives, but not everyone got to have that." Lucia said.
"What do you mean?" Raoh asked.
"Like I said with Cody having a punk reputation, and he's always been the headstrong guy who wants to have a good time in a fight than being bored. That cost him greatly like losing his girlfriend for getting involve in too many fights and being aggressive in those fights also got him thrown him jail." Lucia mentioned.
"What?!" Raoh and Menat shocked.
"It's true, Cody has been thrown in jail for those fights and being accused of a crime he didn't commit, and the weirdest thing is that he was okay with being in jail though he does break himself out a few times every time he gets bored though he does come back." Lucia explained.
"Oh my, one would think Cody is nothing but a dangerous man if we didn't hear this side of the story." Menat surprised to hear all of this.
"Yeah, you would think a guy with such a bad background shouldn't even be mayor at all, yet here he is sitting on the chair." Lucia chuckled.
"I can tell that Cody didn't seem to even want the position." Raoh said crossing his arms.
"You got that right; Cody had no interest in becoming Mayor. But Hagger wouldn't let him go down that easily and tries to help him get over his bad habits, that help is what lead Cody to becoming mayor." Lucia smiled.
"You seem to have a lot of fate in Cody." Menat commented.
"Despite being rough around the edges, Cody is still a great guy who cares so much for Metro City and will take arm against the bad guys with his own hands!" Lucia praised of Cody a little.
"Of course, there is also the face that I know what is like to be accuse of a crime you didn't do." Lucia chuckled blushing a little.
"Ah, so it must have been nice for you to know that you have someone who knows the experience of what you want through." Menat smiled.
"Except unlike Cody, I never lose my patient and break free whenever I'm bored." Lucia pointed out.
"I was lucky enough to have help to get me out of that tough jam." Lucia smirked.
"Not to mention Cody has been doing a pretty good job with keeping the city safe in his own way, that shows he does care for everyone even though he may not show it on the outside." Lucia pointed out.
Raoh look out the window seeing the peaceful scene of Metro City just outside of this building with the ease feeling that calms the nerves, this tells him more than what Lucia just explain to them that Cody is really doing his best to keep the city safe for everyone even when his way is a little extreme than what other mayors do.
"Lucia, you mentioned that Cody used to get into lots of fights, right?" Raoh asked, wanting to make sure he heard that part right.
"Yeah, he still does, but less than back in the days." Lucia answered.
"Then how strong would you say he is, compare to either Ryu or Ken?" Raoh asked another question.
"You sure are asking a lot of questions about fighting, young man." Lucia raised an eyebrow, starting to suspect Raoh is suspicious.
"Keep your suspicious of me at bay, I do not intend to hurt the innocent." Raoh said.
"(Whoa, how did he know that I was being suspicious of him!)" Lucia thought shocked.
Lucia starts to remember about a rumor of a man who can stretch his body like rubber or something and can apparently float, people say it's because he's been using the art of yoga which sounds ridiculous to her.
"I simply find it interesting for a mayor to be a strong fighter and I wish to test his strength against my fists." Raoh excited clutching his fists.
Menat smiles knowing it was gonna come down to this after hearing about Cody being strong even though he is mayor right now.
"Well, I haven't really seen Cody fight those guys in person only through stories." Lucia tried to remember what she heard.
"From what I can remember, both of those guys would give the mayor a Hell of a good time in the fighting department." Lucia explained the best she could.
"And I had my fair shares of winning and losing to those guys." Cody said as he walks in.
"Mayor Cody, you finish with the paperwork?" Lucia asked surprise to see him here.
"Yeah, just turn in the last page and now I'm free for the moment." Cody cracked his neck.
Cody then looks over to Raoh who respond back with his own glance at the man.
"So, you're interested in seeing how strong I am?" Cody asked with a smirk.
"I am, I seek to fight some strong fighters to push my own limits, to surpass myself." Raoh explained.
"Well then, now you got me really curious." Cody smirked and gestured his hand for Raoh to follow him.
Raoh did so wanting to see what the mayor has in store for him while Menat and Lucia follow the two from behind, heading outside and behind of the city hall building.
"You brought me out here to fight, is that right?" Raoh asked, already figuring out what Cody wants.
"Yeah, how'd you guess?" Cody asked.
"I can feel your energy, it's strong and acting as if something exciting is about to happen like a fight." Raoh explained.
"Well, if you know that much then you know it's best not to hold back against me." Cody smirked.
"Yes, I know that very clearly." Raoh smirked pounded his fist into his palm.
"Looks like we're about to have a fight." Menat said to the policewoman.
"Yep, but I think it's gonna be good for the mayor to have a friendly rival who can help him workout his muscles every once and a while." Lucia smiled.

"Alright, you ready for some fun?" Cody asked with a smirk.
"I believe the time for words are over." Raoh pointed out.
Raoh makes the first move charging at the mayor of Metro City throwing the first punch to the face, but Cody was able to dodge that with a slight movement though gasp when he felt his face having a small cut on his cheek.
This causes Cody's instincts to kick in and have him jump back several fight.
"Not bad." Cody said simply.
Raoh goes after him punching another punch which the mayor blocks it with his arm to move it aside for his own punch, but Roah also blocks that with his own arm and throws it off then the two fights threw their own punches at the same time causing a big shockwave from the clash.
"Holy shit, the fight only just started, and things are already feeling crazy!" Lucia shocked.
Cody and Raoh look at each other with seriousness in their eyes with a hint of excitement at the same time as they try pushing each other's fists back.
Raoh start to gain some advancements with his fist pushing back Cody's fist more and more with the increase of his strength, this shocks Cody feeling that he is about to be overwhelmed and needs to do something fast.
"(Damn it, this kid really does intense training like some people I know.)" Cody thought impressed.
Cody made a quick move with his fist going down dragging his opponent's fist go down too giving an opening for Cody to throw in a headbutt, this causes Raoh to groan a little and stumble back from the attack.
After that, Cody jumps at Raoh for his Crack Kick attack to knock the kid down only for that kick to be block with one knee even though Raoh is still a bit stun from the headbutt which shocks Cody.
"You're gonna have to do better than that." Raoh said before pushing him back.
Raoh starts his punch at the mayor connecting to the face causing him to stumble back just a foot and stop himself from going further, clutching his fist and throwing it fast and strong right on Raoh's chest making him stumble back too.
"How's that for better?" Cody asked smirking.
Cody goes in throwing some more strong punches as Raoh blocks most of them though got hit by two, the young Hokuto fighter grab the mayor's arm and throwing him away.
Roah claps his hands together getting ready to unleash one of the secret techniques he learns as he charges at Cody just got back on his footing, but it was too late as Raoh was already in front of him.
"Take this!" Raoh shouted with his hands glowing red of his Ki aura.
"Kiriki Soushi (Joint Dual Palms)!" Raoh thrusted his hands at the chest and sending Cody flying backward.
"No way, he actually got him!" Lucia shocked.
"That's Raoh for ya! When he goes fighting strong opponents, he always goes for the strong hits!" Menat smiled excitingly for her boyfriend.
Upon still in the air, Cody forms a smile on his face with a soft chuckle for a second and suddenly flip himself back up and lands on the ground.
"Damn, that attack was certainly good, kid. You almost knock the wind out of me, thought I was gonna pass out." Cody impressed and rubbing the spot where Raoh stroke.
"And you're durable to survive that blow." Raoh impressed with Cody's feat as well.
"(Still, I felt my attack didn't make any full connection to his body when I launch that technique. He must've jump back at the last second before it made contact.)" Raoh thought figured out.
"(This kid is stronger than I thought, I'm starting to really enjoy this fight.)" Cody thought chuckled and clutched his fists.
"It would seem I will have to try hitting you harder." Raoh stated.
"Then go ahead and try harder." Cody taunted with a finger gesture.
Raoh charges at the mayor of Metro City to keep in fighting as the mayor himself is getting ready reeling his fist back and smirking at the boy.
"Oh, that's a move I haven't seen in a while." Lucia surprised to see that stance.
"What is it?" Menat asked.
"You'll see." Lucia winked.
"Torando Sweep!" Cody threw his arm up so strong that it created a tornado projectile heading right for Raoh.
Raoh barely dodges that attack though felt it making a slight contact on his knee and decided to respond with his own projectile attack as well while taking a deep breath.
"Tōkei Kohō (Strength Summoning Breathing Technique)!" Raoh unleashed an energy attack that travels on the ground towards Cody.
Cody was surprised by this though was able to jump out of the way then charging fast at Raoh to throw a strong punch that is his Zonk Knuckle which Raoh blocks, but Cody's attack was a double strike as his second punch landed on his stomach causing the Hokuto boy to gasp in pain and then was kicked away.
"(Such strength, I can see why he prefers to be out of the office.)" Raoh thought amazed as he flips himself back up.
"What? Don't tell me you're done already?" Cody asked.
"Not a chance!" Raoh answered quickly and charges at Cody.
The two men start trading blow for blow with the strongest punches they can muster with the amount of damage they are dealing with, getting a few bruises and neither of them are backing down.
But just when they were about to land another punch to each other.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" Marlowe shouted in rage which got both boys to stop.
"H-Hey there, Miss Marlowe, what are you doing here?" Cody asked nervously.
"I was going to tell you about a call, but now I see you're causing yourself and another trouble again." Marlowe glared at Cody.
"You two are going back inside and clean yourselves up. Now!" Marlowe demanded.
"Yes, ma'am!" Raoh and Cody nodded in union and ran to the building.
"How come she isn't the mayor?" Raoh asked.
"I've been asking myself that very question." Cody sighed.

Cody decided to have a little more fun with Roah and the fun is with their fists at each other's faces, the battle seems like it was gonna go on a little longer until Marlowe came in not wanting to see this go on and scared both of the strong fighters. Goes to show to never make that woman mad.
