To everybody who's been waiting for an update to this story, I'm so sorry for such a long wait. I've been preoccupied with my other stories, but I have been working on this story still, though. To make up for lack of EPWT updates, I made this chapter extra long, so enjoy. Also, definitely keep reading until the end, because the end result may not be what you're expecting :o
15th December 1945 - 1:30 PM (Equestrian time)
The surrounding desert outside Kluegetown is nothing but a wet mushy mess, it is raining, a rarity for Bone Dry Desert. The Soviet lines in the south is only a few miles away from their next significant target, the forces coming from the east is a little further away. Vasilevsky is coming up north while Zhukov is believed to be coming from the east. The Soviets, along with their new ally, Chrysalis and the changelings still loyal to her, are marching through the desert, pushing towards their target, Kluegetown. The main thrusts are coming from the south and the east. They expect to crush Kluegetown, as defences elsewhere in Equestria crumbled against facing the Red Army alone, let alone unreformed changelings now fighting alongside them.
But Kluegetown isn't helpless though, they're far from helpless. Around 10 airships are mobilized that can conceal their presence by releasing thick, dark smoke. These are the same make of airships, which the Storm Creatures left behind after withdrawing from Equestria. But added to the airships are Flak 30 AA guns. As well, these airships have been redesigned slightly to have bomb bay doors, and to carry 8 tons of bombs. Their hulls are also been protected by multiple sheets of iron to serve as protection from Soviet AA fire as well as against any planes. Of the 10 airships, 7 are going to confront the Soviet forces in the east while 3 are going to confront the Soviet forces from the south.
Equestria is now much better prepared than the early stages of the conflict too. Ponies of the Royal Guard, human volunteers, yaks and even a few of Thorax's changelings are already in defensive positions, as well as some hippogriffs. Series of trenches and dug outs have been made south and east in preparation for the Soviet artillery barrages.
Tank destroyers of German origin have been prepositioned, and while most of them are Stug III's, along the eastern defense positions have more modern ones such as Jagdpather's and even fielding some Jagdtiger's as well, which have finally arrived to the front. As well, anti-tank mines have been laid in advance in time as well, which are nearer the defensive lines. Equestria has dug in, deep.
Even the citizens of Kluegetown have prepared. Most of Kluegetown's citizens have already evacuated up north prior to the inevitable assault that must come. For the citizens of Kluegetown that chose to stay, they have taken arms. Everybody are bracing themselves, preparing to fight off up until now in this conflict, is an undefeated Red Army.
(South of Kluegetown)
(Celaeno's airship)
Down south, Captain Celaeno is in charge of an airship that's a few thousands of feet above the ground, with another airship on both sides roughly 200 feet away from each other. She's at the wheel that's at the front of the ship. Near the airship's steering wheel is a radio with a single button. To the right of the wheel is a lever that is as tall as up to her waist, which releases the smoke from the sides of the ship when pulled backwards. To the left of the wheel is another lever, which controls the speed of the airship. There's also a large, periscope-like pipe which goes down to the lower deck, for her to give orders through.
With the sky pirate captain is her trustworthy crew she knew for ages before and while serving under the Storm King, they're in charge with dropping the bombs. They're also accompanied by humans and ponies. The ponies, all of them unicorns, are manning the AA guns. There's 2 Flak 30's at the front, 10 on each side at the edge, and 4 at the back. The humans are all medics, some of whom are in the lower deck, where all the medical supplies are, the same deck the bomb bay is at with all the bombs.
"We have an advantage with the rain but be prepared, anything can happen! We're going in for a bombing run against their artillery units especially the Katyushas, prepare to engage! Take out as many of their artillery as you can!" Captain Celaeno yelled aloud.
"Hello. Who am I paired with? Over." Celaeno hears a familiar male voice on the radio. She presses the button in the middle of the radio and leans forward.
"Celaeno here. Over." Celaeno lets go of the button and leans back, back to focusing on her control of her designated airship.
"Capper here. The airship on the right. Over." Celaeno now understands why the voice sounded familiar.
"Any Soviet artillery in sight? Over." Capper asked over the radio.
"Tempest here, in control of the left-side airship. Twenty Katyushas and countless towed artillery spotted at eleven o'clock, going in. Stay in your formations. Over." A female voice replied back on the radio.
(Tempest's airship)
"Grubber, release some smoke or they'll clearly see us and we'll get shot at," Tempest demanded as she spins the wheel to the left, where she spotted the Soviet artillery at down on the ground.
"Yes, the Soviets won't see what hit em!" Grubber exclaimed as he pulls the lever towards him. From the sides of the airship, thick, light-blocking-dark opaque smoke gets released into the air.
"Go to the edge now and yell when we're directly above them!" Tempest yelled, forcefully giving the hedgehog a 10x80 Flak binoculars.
"I'm hungry thou-"
"Now!" Tempest interrupted aloud, stomping her left forehoof and leans forward intimidatingly. Grubber ran to the front of the ship and leans over while looking through the binoculars.
"We're going in now! Don't release the load until I say so!" Tempest strictly ordered, bellowing down the periscope-like pipe.
Through the smoke, to the left, 9 o'clock, 4 shapes that look like planes are spotted. The shapes began to get bigger, and noiser. They immediately assume they're Soviet planes.
PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA! PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA! PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA! PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA! PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA! PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA! PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA! PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA! PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA! PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA! PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA! PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA PA!
The unicorns controlling the AA guns reacted so quick the planes didn't have time to shoot back. From each of the 4 planes there's a loud bang, and a flash partially shining through the smoke, an explosion.
"We're now flying directly above their artillery!" Grubber exclaimed aloud to Tempest. The hedgehog sees down bellow are the 20 Katyushas and the numerous amount of towed artillery. Tempest wastes no time to alert the bomber crew on the lower deck. She shouts down the pipe besides her.
"Drop the bombs!" Tempest pulls a lever towards her, the one that controls the speed. The airship starts to slow down.
She starts hearing whistling noises, then it stops. For a few minutes, the whistling noises go on and off.
"Oooooh, yeah, we got em gooooood!" Grubber exclaimed ecstatically, putting his binoculars in his left hand and clenching his right hand. Down below, all 20 Katyushas are hit and are now burning wrecks, the heat of the fire being too great for the rain to put out. Much for the towed artillery accompanying the Katyushas are also destroyed.
"Well done crew, we've just saved a lot of our fellow lives down there!" Tempest greatly applauded. The crew on board gives everybody near them a high five, high hoof, and everybody is cheering. Tempest sighs, thinking back to her past briefly, but her thoughts are interrupted by the radio.
"Celaeno here! Capper's airship has just got destroyed! Before he was taken down his airship and my ship was and still are being attacked by unreformed chan- TSHHHHHHHHHHH..." The radio suddenly went static. Captain Celaeno didn't get to finish her sentence.
"Oh great..." Tempest muttered to herself. She is on her own out here now, this has happened without warning. If her ship is destroyed now, her crew will be left to fend for themselves, being so deep within enemy lines.
With no other option, Tempest steers the wheel multiple times until it's locked, making the airship turn around sharply. She then straightens the wheel, she is bringing her airship in the direction back to Kluegetown. Then all of a sudden, she hears a loud bang, and the smoke concealing the airship starts to rapidly dissipate.
"Great, the vents have failed..." Tempest muttered.
"Soviet planes! Five o'clock!" A unicorn shouted. They see 20 planes, with smooth underbellies with nothing under them, all of them being identified as Yak-3's, flying lower than the level the airship is flying at. The smoke had been keeping the planes at bay, but now the smoke is no longer concealing the airship. The Yak-3's tilt right and align themselves for the centre of the ship. To make matters worse, 60 unreformed changelings come to join in with the Soviet planes.
"Everyone! Get your parachutes! Abandon ship!" Tempest yelled. As she has given the order, she trots to the very back of the ship. She looks below, and sees the Yak-3's and changelings, still far behind the airship, but rapidly catching up. Out of her broken horn, she shoots a powerful electric bolt of energy at a Yak-3, which bounces to another Yak-3, then bounces to and goes through 5 changelings. Both planes explodes into a fiery ball, while the 5 hit changelings gets incinerated. But it's not enough. The 18 Yak-3's swurve from left to right, trying to get a good aim on the airship. While Tempest still can, she scrambles to find a parachute.
BRRRRRRRTRTRTRTRT...
The Yak-3's start strafing the airship with a storm of bullets, which have minimal impact against the hull. When the planes fly off to turn around, the unreformed changelings swoop in to cause chaos, preventing those manning the AA guns to shoot back at the planes. Once the planes are ready to strafe again, the changelings withdraw. But this time, the planes are above the airship. All hell begins to break loose.
Meanwhile, Tempest who's holding onto Grubber, have jumped off and parachuted. They hear bullets tearing through the air, then the airship above exploding, and massive wave of heat, and they didn't want to look up above them. But they'll have to regroup with any potential survivors once they're back on the ground.
Capper, 3 humans and a unicorn are also descending to the ground in parachutes. The unicorn is a grey stallion. As for the humans, all 3 are male, one is an asian, with black hair, the other 2 being white, one having brown hair and the other having blond hair. The unicorn and the 3 humans are wearing the same uniform as other ponies and humans. They managed to get off the airship before it blew up in spectacular fashion. Planks, metal, and any other materials that made up the ship, they're scattered and embedded in the sand.
Capper is holding a Kar-98 equipped with a scope with both of his hands, his left hand being over the trigger. Capper also has a Mauser C96 in an inside pocket of his red coat. The 3 humans are holding an MP 4O with both of their hands, their left hands hovering over the trigger. They too have a Mauser C96, in the left-side pocket of their trousers. In the right-side pockets are 2 grenades.
Without warning for no reason given, the unicorn's parachute ripped and they plummet for the ground, screaming as they did. Capper couldn't help but gulp as they watch him crash into the sand. Landing in the sand is slightly softer than landing on a hard surface, but not enough to save the falling unicorn. When the unicorn hit the ground, blood, guts and limbs fly out. Their head bursts open, brain matter and more blood leaping forwards. The now dead unicorn has left a messy, gory site. The sight of death is normal to the humans, they are used to seeing gore after many years of being at war. But it hits Capper hard, but he has no time to show any emotion.
"Everyone else that was on our ship is dead as far as I know. The unreformed changelings managed to light up the fuel or something, but there's a chance Celaeno and some of her crew is still out there, same with Tempest. We have to search for them before we fall back, understand?" Capper ordered the remaining 3 of his crew members.
"Only open fire when it's necessary. The ammo in our guns and pockets is all we've got, and right now, it's just us. We must make everything we have on us count."
The humanoid cat and the 3 men are now just a few metres above the ground. Ahead, roughly a few hundred feet away, there are Soviet soldiers. Capper doesn't bother counting their numbers, because they outnumber him and his 3 remaining crew members. They land on the sand and they do a few rolls. They unattach themselves from their parachutes and get up. They've landed on a large sand hill.
"Right you three, find any survivors out here. I'll keep the Soviets on me," Capper instructed. The 3 men walk away, while Capper looks towards the east.
In the distance below them, he sees pale green tanks with sloped armour, all T-34'85's, and Soviet infantry, all of them wearing helmets. Some are armed with rifles, and some are armed with submachine guns. For every T-34-85, there's roughly 8 to 12 infantry.
Capper sees a table laying on 2 legs, and has a hole, large enough for his scoped Kar-98 to fit through. Capper gets on his stomach and pokes his gun through the hole. He closes his right eye and looks through the scope with his left. He has a much clearer view of the advancing Soviets.
"Fancy to play some turkey shooting huh?" Capper's index finger is gently touching the trigger. He aims ahead at the head of a soldier.
"Focus..." Then, Capper presses the trigger.
POW!
"Ah ha ha ha!" Capper cheered to himself. The bullet pierces into the helmet. That soldier's head explodes, blood, brains and both eyes flying out, their body falling to the ground, blood staining the sand around the obliterated head. The nearby soldiers flinch and they hastily take cover behind the nearest T-34-85. That exact tank suddenly halts.
"Yeah... you lot go cower behind your pitiful tank..." Capper muttered, scanning for any easy shots.
The T-34-85 that halted begins to turn, then stops, facing in the direction of Capper's position. The tank began to drive again, with 9 Soviet infantry accompanying it, taking cover behind it. All the while, Capper is aiming for his next victim, his index finger gently touching the trigger at the ready. He has his next target aimed in, who he can just about target.
"Today's not your day, your day is now over..." Capper muttered, pressing the trigger.
POW!
"Damn it! No!" Capper exclaimed. The bullet misses the head and goes into the targeted soldier's stomach. They drop their weapon and put both their hands over their stomach. The other 8 Soviet infantry and their tank are now fully aware of Capper's position. The 2 soldiers attend to help their shot comrade. The T-34-85 and the 6 other soldiers charges for Capper's position at breakneck speed.
"Oh shoot- oh shoot shoot shoot..." Capper pulls his scoped Kar-98 out of the hole in the table, then gets up. He tries to regroup with the humans he sent to retrieve any survivors.
BWOMPF! The T-34-85 fires and the shell lands near Capper before he could do anything. The explosion's shockwave sends Capper flying 2 metres into the air. He lets go of his scoped Kar-98, which gets sent much higher. When he landed, he rolls twice, curling up on the ground, growling in pain unlike he ever felt. Capper sees all over his there's massively bloody cuts, some with bits of metal and sand in them.
The sounds of engine and clattering noises sounds close. In a last stand, Capper reaches into one of his inside pockets with his right hand for his Mauser C96. He gets it, and pulls the pistol out, and aims ahead. The T-34-85 and 6 soldiers, armed with rifles are now near his position.
POW! POW! Capper fires 2 bullets into a soldier, who drops his rifle and falls, curling and crying. He goes to shooting another, but the bullet gets jammed. Capper drops his hand, head and closes his eyes. Before the Soviet soldiers fire back at Capper...
Whoshweeeeee- BOOM!
Capper opens his eyes again and sees the T-34-85 is destroyed, burning. The 6 soldiers focus shifts from Capper, and they turn to their right, Capper's left and gets on their knees, pointing their rifles in that direction. Those soldiers didn't stand a chance, as they get electrocuted by blue-coloured magical lightning. They scream as their uniforms burst into flames, their skin starting to burn and melt, their exposed flesh and blood boiling, and bubbling.
POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! Six bullets are fired at the heads of the burning, melting bodies, putting them out of their misery.
Capper sees Tempest, as well as Grubber and Celaeno, all 3 miraculously unharmed. Celaeno is holding a Mauser C96 in her right hand.
"Th- thank you..." Capper coughed out, weakly smiling.
"Don't thank me, if Grubber didn't spot you with his binoculars, you would've been dead," Tempest replied.
"Them... muggers killed off my crew, and they're going to pay..." Celaeno is holding herself together from breaking down.
"The USSR will pay dearly, in this conflict or in the far future, they will pay for the genocide they've unleashed," Tempest firmly reassured Celaeno.
"Well... on a positive note, a lot of the human fighters survived and they're equipped, and we kinda need them. They know how to fight the reds better than any of us do," Grubber commented, trying to keep a positive light on an ever-growing dark situation.
Capper feels 2 men grabbing him, one by his shoulders and the other by his feet. He then feels being put on the ground again, and his whole body gets lifted up. He's on a stretcher, with a human carrying it from both sides, who began to jog with him. Everybody is attempting to make their way to Kluegetown before it's too late.
(East of Kluegetown)
East of Kluegetown, in the trenches, Christopher and Daniel are anxiously waiting in a dug out, eating some bread while sitting on a wrot-covered bench. By their legs are their Kar-98's. The dug out is small, but large enough to accommodate 8 humans or other creatures inside. The walls and ceiling are secured by planks. The floor has nothing but the natural mud and sand. The only source of light is from outside the dug out.
"The Russians pushed us far up, too far up," Daniel murmured as he finishes his bread, shaking slightly.
"You scared of them?" Christopher teased his friend, pointing at their shaking. Christopher has also finished his bread.
"No, I'm angry, because we'd so beat the Russians if we had the same men before fighting with us here right now that fought in the Pacific back in that forest, I'm sure of it," Daniel noted, muttering with built-up frustration.
"That is true, that is true. And these ponies can only muster... ten airships? That's nothing, at best they'll kill a single fucking soldier, if they're lucky," Christopher retorted in agreement with Daniel.
"Also, where's that Mad Jack guy by the way?" Daniel asked.
"I don't know, but all I know is he's in the eastern trench somewhere- he's in the same trench network as us... unless he's further back," Christopher replied, sounding unsure of Mad Jack's exact location as of now.
"Ah, they're here... ready?" Christopher questioned, immediately grabbing his Kar-98. So did Daniel in grabbing his. Both nood, signalling they're ready. But as they were about to rush outside...

The ground starts shaking, as if a major earthquake is taking place. Explosions from outside is the only thing Christopher and Daniel can hear. A few of these explosions hit so close and directly above, that dust came down from the ceiling of the dug out. So powerful were the explosions from outside, cracks form in the ceiling, and small bits of sand and dirt fall through.
Christopher and Daniel are left with 2 options, stay in the dug out for protection and risk having the ceiling potentially collapse in on them, or go out into the open and risk a rocket landing near them blowing them to bits. They choose the second option, and rush to the exit. They crouch down as they exit out of the dug out, now crouching around inside the main trenches. On both sides there are unecen stone slates as stairs, which leads to out of the trenches.
From the top of the trenches, fires and huge plumes of black smoke filled the air. Christopher and Daniel holds their Kar-98's with their right hand, coughing in the smoke and covering their mouths with their left hand. Further ahead of them, and behind as well, there's a bloody mess of obliterated unidentifiable bodies, and their ripped uniform, partially burning. There's so much fire to the point that the rain cannot put it out.

"Fucking hell!" Christopher shouted aloud.

Katyusha rockets only got more louder as the numbers of rockets flying high above increases. The non-stop artillery bombardment lasts for half an hour. During this time, Christopher and Daniel didn't have hold of their rifles, but had the palm of their own hands together, their fingers pointing upwards. They're praying to God that they don't get obliterated, and they don't say amen, so it felt as if God is with them through all of this, keeping them safe.
For what seemed like an eternity of relentless artillery bombardment, the numbers of Katyusha rockets in the sky die down, then ceases to be in the sky all together. Christopher and Daniel have miraculously survived the ordeal. They look at the sky and thank God, believing that he saved them both.
"Amen..." Daniel whispered to himself.
"Amen," Christopher said to himself, but louder. They take a deep breath and grab their Kar-88's.
"Make sure God spared us for good reason Dan. We got some buggers to kill," Christopher peaks his head over the top of the trench, placing his gun over the top of the wall, aiming at advancing Soviet forces, as did Daniel too.
POW! POW!
"There's a lot of them and their tanks," Christopher noted, while continuing to return fire. Approaching from the east are 5 IS-3's, being lead by a bigger tank with a larger pike-shaped hull and a larger cannon, which ponies come to call 'the Behemoth', and for good reason.
KRABMVPH! KRABMVPH- DING!
Daniel notices that he and his long time friend have support. Behind them outside the trench are 2 Jagdtigers. They both hit 2 of the approaching IS-3's, one getting penetrated and turned into a blazing wreck, while the other shell ricocheted off of the turret.
KRABMVPH! KRABMVPH! Both Jagdtiger
KLOMBF-DING! KLOMBF-DING! KLOMBF-DING... The IS-3's return fire, but their shell's don't penetrate either Jagdtiger.
KRAKOMBF! The behemoth tank fires at a Jagdtiger and more than obliterates it and setting it a light. The shell fired was so powerful that the cannon of the Jagdtiger gets ripped off. The burning cannon is about to fall on...
"DANIEL!" Christopher lunges at his friend and sends both himself and Daniel tumbling over. The burning cannon of the Jadgtiger lands a few shy metrew from Christopher's feet. That's where Daniel would've been standing.
"That was close! I didn't notice!" Daniel exclaimed, shaken by what was about to fall on him.
"Too fucking close," Christopher said aloud as he gets up, pulling his friend up with him.
"We're having too many close calls, we gotta get out of here," Daniel strongly suggested. Christopher nodded.
"Up that bulge- Give me your gun I'll cover you," Christopher instructed while taking Daiekn's Kar-98, as they both rush up the bulge of sand and dirt to their right. Daniel makes a dash to hide behind a few metres away from the Jadgtiger that's not been destroyed, so it doesn't accidentally reserve and crush him by accident. Christopher meanwhile covers fire for Daniel.
POW! POW! POW!
With 3 bullets, he takes down 3 Soviet soldiers. While there aren't any others in the very near vicinity, Christopher takes this chance to regroup with Daniel.
KRABMVPH- DING! The Jagdtiger fires at the behemoth tank. The shell ricochets off the pike-shaped hull. However, the shell bounces into the left-side tracks, destroying them, immobilizing the behemoth tank.
KRAKOMBF! The behemoth tank punches through the upper plate. Smoke and flames bursts out from the back of the tank destroyer. At the same time, more Soviet infantry reach their location. Christopher and Daniel take cover behind the destroyed Jagdtiger, while Christopher returns fire.
POW! POW! POW! POW!
"AHHHHH- FUUUUUUCK!" Daniel screamed as he drops to the ground. Blood comes out of his chest and starts staining his uniform in that area.
"Daniel-" Christopher shouted as he turns to his friend, who is coughing as more blood comes out of his chest.
POW! POW!
"AHH YOU FU- AHHHHH-" Christopher cried as a bullet goes into his back and another goes into his stomach, and drops the Kar-98. He collapses down to the ground, landing next to Daniel. Meanwhile, the seemingly bloodthirsty, undisciplined Soviet soldiers push past the lines, charging straight for Kluegetown, not caring about finishing off the 2 men.
As the Soviet infantry pass along with their mixture of IS-3's, IS-2's and T-34-85's, Christopher and Daniel close their eyes. They then hear voices.
"There's two of them," A German-sounding individual is speaking.
"Carry any one of them," A British-sounding individual ordered.
(Southern Kluegetown)
Tempest, Grubber and Celaeno have made it back to Kluegetown itself, or what remained of it. Much of the town had been brought down to piles of burning timber from the artillery barrage, smoke rising into the air. Any paint work done to the wood had burned away. Any buildings that were lucky to survive, they're barely left standing. Chunks of doors and windows are broken and shattered of any 'surviving' buildings.
Side by side down on both sides of the sandy path, there are sandbag walls, with mounted machine guns poking out of every hole in the sandbag wall. They are being operated by either a human or a pony. As well, there's some hippogriffs, who were all originally seaponies before Seaquestria got attacked by 2 Soviet submarines.
Further behind, there's 30 Tiger 1's, 20 Panther's, 10 Jagdpanther's and even more Stug III's. Among them, there are also a token number of 6 Tiger 2's and 2 Jagdtiger's. They are all driving down the path, heading to positions further out, followed by some yaks, wearing a suit made of thick iron plates, being accompanied by humans armed with either normal rifles or assault rifles. All defenders, creatures of every type, braces for the inevitable assault.
Many hours hour goes bye, and not a single bullet or tank shell has been fired or received yet. Fear settles within each defender. They all start getting more anxious than they already were.
"They must be reorganizing. There's no other explanation," Tempest stated. She too is getting anxious, as well as Grubber and Celaeno.
"Uh... the Soviets aren't the only problem..." Grubber stuttered while looking through his binoculars. He sees not just Soviet soldiers, and massive formation of IS-3's, IS-2's and T-34-85's, they're also being accompanied by unreformed changelings. For every few dozen Soviet soldiers, there's a handful of unreformed changelings. As the Red Army came into view for everyone else, the unreformed changelings accompanying them fly high up before swooping down on mass against the defenders, some of which getting shot down by machine gun fire. Bullets from all guns, enormous amounts of tank shells, and magic beams start being exchanged between each opposing force.
Pegasuses in the air carrying anti-tank mines weaves around to dodge the unreformed changelings and flies straight for the Soviet tanks. Some drop their payload onto the tanks, prioritizing IS-3's. Some IS-3's and a few other Soviet tanks get destroyed and starts burning. They go and fly back to grab another anti-tank mine, but some get shot down from the sky from the mounted machine guns from other Soviet tanks. The rest that didn't get shot down are caught by masses of unreformed changelings and get sucked of their love before being tossed to the ground, their fate being crushed underneath Soviet tracks and trampled by Red Army soldier's boots. Blood as well as mutilated guts, other organs and flesh from both sides start staining the battlefield. Some changelings and hippogriffs swoop in to attack the unreformed changelings, but they too end up meeting the same fate as the pegasus fighters.
Equestria's tanks and the USSR's tanks start exchange tank shells. The Jagdtiger's starts dishing out punishing blows against Soviet tanks. For every Jagdtiger, it's destroying at least 3 to 5 Soviet tanks. However, other Soviet tank crews quickly starts realizing the threat posed by the Jagdtiger, and prioritizes fire against them.
A group of 14 T-34-85's starts rushing the Jagdtiger's.
KRABMVPH- BANG! KRABMVPH- BANG!
With a shell from both Jagdtiger's, 2 T-34-85 turrets fly into the air, being pushed by a massive ball of flames.
BWOMPF! BWOMPF! BWOMPF! BWOMPF!
BWOMPF! BWOMPF! BWOMPF! BWOMPF!
BWOMPF! BWOMPF! BWOMPF! BWOMPF!
The remaining T-34-85's manage to flank the Jagdtiger's and dump their shells into sides and rear of the Jagdtiger's. The 2 tank destroyers get utterly obliterated, peppered by multiple holes made by the merciless Soviet medium tanks. They drive on until they're met by a group of 48 yaks, charging at the tanks, which started jumping up and down. Although the ground-shaking don't damage the tank, the tanks continue driving, not aiming their cannons back at the yaks. This means the crew inside the tanks had been stunned. Then the 40 yaks charge at the tanks to their sides. For every T-34-85, there was 3 yaks. The yaks work together in flipping the medium tanks onto their side. While 36 of the yaks goes on to find other tanks to flip, 12 of them stay behind and climb onto the flipped tanks. They began jumping up and down, bending the Soviet armour, until the irom gave in and the tank's structure collapsed, crushing the crew inside underneath the weight of their own metal and a yak.
(Hours later)
Tempest just struck yet another T-34-85 with her magic and made it's turret fly. She charges forward, and creates blue lightning out of her horn, electrifying and frying 20 nearby Soviet soldiers and 9 unreformed changelings to death, screaming as they easily burn like wooden twigs, being consumed by the flames created by the lightning.
Celaeno, who is providing support, shot down 5 unreformed changelings. Grubber throws out 2 grenades, killing a further 9 Soviets. Then, a human joined them, who is average height, white male, has black hair and green eyes. This man has an MP44, and is wearing the same uniform as the other humans.
"Die you fucking scumbags!"
POW POW POW POW POW POW POW POW POW POW POW POW POW POW!
The man sprays down 5 charging Soviet soldiers in the faces, which quickly became just bloody bullet wounds. They drop to the ground, and their blood stains the ground. Then, there's nothing but silence, with the exception of tank shells and bullets in the background. Then the background noises stop as well, which gets replaced by Russian screaming.
"Отступление! Отступление! Отступление!" Soviet soldiers and unreformed changelings in the far distance began to flee. Other than a few bullets and tank shells firing at fleeing Soviet forces, all the main heavy fighting has for the moment, stopped.
In the immediate range of sight, everything is a mess. The bodies of Soviet soldiers and unreformed changelings as well as the bodies of Equestria's human volunteers, changelings, yaks, hippogriffs, earth ponies, pegasuses and unicorns lay dead, littered all around, riddled with bullet holes, lots of red blood and gore all around. There's also an endless field of destroyed tanks and tank destroyers from both sides, some tanks also having their turrets missing as they had been blown off. Some tanks are even burning still. These destroyed tanks are surrounded by dead bodies and blood like small islands. There are also numerous holes dotted around the sandy ground, created mostly by tank shells.
Tempest, Celaeno and Grubber look behind them. They don't know how to react. They don't know how they could claim victory in this defense. Kluegetown had effectively been leveled to the ground. Most buildings have been completely destroyed, reduced to timber and rubble. Potholes are present everywhere, as well as dead bodies of many Kluegetown's citizens that had chose to stay and fight.
Estimated loses (including both southern and eastern fighting around Kluegetown):
Equestria - 3,400 unicorns, 1,100 earth ponies, 19,000 pegasi, 5,300 changelings, 2,200 hippogriffs, 1,000 yaks, 2,000 human soldiers, 1,000 Kluegetown citizens, 300 tanks, 100 tank destroyers, 10 airships.
USSR - 51,000 soldiers, 12,000 unreformed changelings, 900 tanks, 1,500 artillery, 300 aircraft.
I hope you enjoyed Equestria's first 'victory' against the Soviets. It'd be boring if the Soviets won every engagement. As well, in war, even if you're winning, you can still lose some engagements.
Again, I'm so sorry for the long wait for EPWT. My priorities had been elsewhere. No, I'm not cancelling this story, oh hell no. Don't worry about that, because whether it takes days or months, EWPT will still receive updates ;)
