Unlike the previous Chapter, well the Omake, this may become canon. Cause well, it kind of fits what I might be planning to write, but I really skipped the gun when I wrote this as if it went by original plan this would be like the second or third arc. Please consider this semi-canon until I decide to accept into the main story :)
Grand Caster
Archmagos Alpha-Primus sighed as he finished the Rites of Repair upon one of the greatest technological marvels that currently existed in the Imperium. If he had been more knowledge and skills with technology then he could have done better than simply perform maintenance of the slowing failing Golden Throne.
It brought him great sorrow despite his best efforts, the Golden Throne was failing. Quadrillions of humans and a million world depended on the Emperor's light to survive. If the Golden Throne was to fail, it would hard to say if humanity would ever recover from. Humanity might had suffered a greater catastrophe during the Cybernetic Revolt that brought an end to the Dark Age of Technology and survived, but it had been thanks to the Emperor from the shadow, the very being the Golden Throne was barely sustaining, that humanity had barely survived extinction.
Without the Emperor, the Imperium wasn't just finished, but humanity in best case scenario survive as a minor power akin to the growing Tau Empire given how much the numerous xenos race hated humanity.
Alpha-Primus chuckled just thinking about how much he had changed to even care that the consequences of the Golden Throne was to fail. Unlike many of the Adeptus Mechanicus he didn't see humans are simply numbers or cogs to be used and discarded when no longer usable. But that was a whole different story if it had been several centuries ago as he like so many of his religion had once represented the archetypical image of the Adeptus Mechanicus, believing flesh to be inferior and metal superior, and many other stereotypes.
His assignment as the one in charge of the Golden Throne's maintenance had changed him. His constant exposure to the Emperor's presence had included being affected by the lingering thoughts that He emitted. During that time, he had learned great deal many secrets that had been forever buried due time or censorship. Some of these secrets included some that even the current High Lords of Terra or the Inquisition didn't know of.
"The Imperial Truth… How ironic that the very act of destroying religion had backfired and the Emperor was worshipped in the single greatest religion to have existed in human history," muttered Archmagos Alpha-Primus.
"The Imperial Truth was wrong," said a voice that made Alpha-Primus ready the weapons on his body.
Archmagos Alpha-Primus turned his eyes and sensors to the intruder while sending a encrypted message to the Custodies that a being somehow had managed to escape their eyes and entered the room housing the Golden Throne.
"Oh the Custodies weren't by appearing," chuckled the intruder. "Why would they attempt to attack the very lord they swore fealty to?"
Alpha-Primus's cogitators immediately found several results regarding the intruder. The first and unusual thing was the intruder's attire was something from Terra's past when humanity had yet to leave ancient Terra and still remained popular in some form or another until the end of the Age of Technology. It was a clothes of one of humanity's most revered occupation: the white lab coat of a scientist.
"I am surprised that Rogal Dorn was even able to create such a complex machine given the state of humanity's current scientific and technological knowledge," said the lab-coat wearing intruder as he casually walked around the Golden Throne as if inspecting it, treating Alpha-Primus as harmless individual. "This 'work of art' would have been considered a piece of junk during my days."
The Archmagos' cogitators worked furiously to the point of overheating as it analysed every scrap of information that his sensors could gather on the intruder. The intruder's words and behaviour seemed to imply that he had come from the Dark Age of Technology, which by itself should been impossible.
The thing that caught Archmagos' attention the most was the intruder's physical appearance. He had a striking resemblance to the Emperor while He still walked amongst mortals. Well in every manner, except for lacking the incredible height and bulk the Emperor possessed during the Great Crusade. The intruder looked like he was baseline human while possessing ever feature that Emperor had once bore.
"How rude of me," said the intruder as he faced the Archmagos. "I forgot to introduce myself. I am Grand Caster, but my true name is… Well I have gone by many names and titles, but the best name suitable to my current self is Iron Creator."
Alpha-Primus's mind and cogitators shutdown.
"Impossible!" shouted Alpha-Primus in a mixture of binary and High Gothic. "You suffered the greatest torture and punishment could devised during the Age of Technology for your invention of the Iron Men!"
"That was just all propaganda," said the intruder while waving his hand. "All a fabricated story that I had arranged. Humanity needed a scapegoat, and what else but the man that had invented the Iron Men." He started to laugh. "But I don't deny that I had deserved to be punished. The human lives and worlds lost due to MY MISTAKE weighs heavily on me." The intruder started to glow in golden light and god-like level of psychic emitted from him. "The Iron Men hadn't been the problem. It was that FUCKING Void Dragon that created computer virus that humanity could never had expected. I should have expected IT! I COULD HAVE PREVENTED IT!"
The Archmagos was left in stupor at the unbelievable information that he had just heard.
"I will forever repent what had happened that DAY, but I first have the Golden Throne to fix," said the scientist of humanity's golden era. His gaze fell upon the decaying human body that was barely holding on with the aid of the Golden Throne of sacrifices of thousands of psykers happening every day. "You might have made many mistakes my future self, but humanity cannot afford to lose you. So while I want beat you up for what you have done in the name of the Imperial Truth and Great Crusade, I still have to fix you before that…"
