"Ne."
Hawks looked down as they walked away from the Todoroki Estate as his wings slowly spread out since they had no vehicle transportation, "What is it, Miko-chan?" He asked lightly.
Kagome brought her arm up to eye level and stared at the tekken and the prayer beads wrapped around it, "What does 'Houshi' mean?" She asked after a moment of silence and glanced to the blond for the answer.
"Hoshi?" Hawks blinked, taken back by the strange question, "Err, doesn't it just mean 'star'?" He felt a panic rise up in him when Kagome simply stared at him with that blank, listless expression of hers, "Could it have a different meaning too? In kanji? Hiragana? Katakana?"
"I can't... remember," Kagome placed the arm with the prayer beads against her chest, "It feels as the though the dream is getting further and further away." She said mournfully.
"And your brother?" Hawks asked carefully, "What about him?" He winced, not sure if he even should bring him up considering Kagome's reaction last time.
"I can see his back," Kagome said wistfully, as if imagining her brother was right in front of her, "He has long silver hair. He's tall and his clothes are always in pristine condition. I can always hear his orders, no matter how quiet his voice – he was simply so commanding like that," Her hand caressed the middle fingernail that had the tattoo of a crescent moon, "Onii-san was kind enough to take in the Houshi and..." She trailed off, looking confused.
"Come on," Hawks offered a gloved hand, "Let's take a little mental break from this. Then we can find out what information you need."
Kagome stared at the hand before letting out a breath and a small smile slipped through her blank expression, "That sounds good, Hawks," She gave the Todoroki home one last look, "I'm sure the Flame Oni would like us to leave now."
Hawks sighed, 'I don't think that's quite it,' He thought, jumping slightly when a weight settled on his back, "Hey, I thought we went through this already!" His cheeks flushed a little red.
The girl looked down, making sure she was not touching the base of his wings, "I am not touching your feathers though," She stated, "Is there something wrong with your back?"
"No..." Hawks sighed as arms wrapped his neck and legs around his waist area, "Make sure you don't touch my wings," He warned, closing his eyes at the feel of her body against his, 'No, I can't go there,' He grit his teeth, 'Even if I'm the only there for her now.'
And with a flap of his wings, they were airborne.
"So," He began as cheerfully as he could, "Want to blow off some steam?" He asked as they reached downtown Musutafu in a matter of only minutes.
"Blow off steam?" Kagome repeated, "We are not machines," She frowned when Hawks chuckled at her, "We respire. Is that so amusing?"
"It just means to get rid of that extra energy and stress that builds up in you," Hawks explained, "There are lots of ways to do it. So which way do you want to? Do you wanna go get something to eat? Maybe catch a Villain or two–" He scratched his head when he felt Kagome's fingers tighten around him.
"Like that Amanojaku?" She growled, causing Hawks to tense, "Kurikaramaru and I wish to fight him and reduce him into nothing more than ash."
"Dabi is one of the worst Villains out there," Hawks' eyes darkened, "You should only see him when I'm around so we have a better chance against him. His blue flames... are said to be even hotter than Endeavor-san's!"
"Still, he should not stand a chance against Kurikaramaru," Kagome huffed as they landed on the ground, "Nobody does unless they are the perfect being, which just doesn't exist in this rotten world."
"Heh," Hawks brushed a hand through his hair, knowing he would have to drag Kagome down with him in his undercover mission to infiltrate the League of Villains soon enough, "You're right about that."
He was dreading it.
