'So cute~'
He could not help the thought from creeping in as he sat up and glanced down, seeing that Kagome was curled up in the blanket like a small puppy would be.
Hawks shook his head, stretching his wings out as he yawned, knowing it was dawn as he was an early riser. He looked over at his phone, blinking golden eyes as sat over the bed and picked it up from the night table, 'Really?' He thought, taken back by the sight, 'Really...?' It was only thing he could think of.
Endeavor had sent him at least eight text messages through the night.
They were attempts at apologies and requests to meet again and they made Hawks sigh as he tapped on his phone, thinking about what to text back.
'So he realized his mistake, huh?' The blond thought, surprised it took this quickly to do so, "Then again, Kagome-chan is too cute!"
Blue eyes snapped open and suddenly, a petite body was lunging his way.
Hawks instinctively put his arm in front of his throat as they both tumbled to the floor, "Kagome-chan," He knew he had to remain calm as he felt teeth (that were certainly a little bit sharper than normal teeth) bite hard into his arm, "That kinda hurts."
Kagome tensed, instantly releasing him and backed away as she quickly wiped the blood off her face with her hand, "I-I'm sorry!" She gasped, wanting to vomit at the taste of his blood, "It's been so long since that I have slept so close to another that has known my name! You said it out loud and I just–! I keep on failing!"
Hawks barely even glanced down at the wound and ruffled Kagome's hair, "Relax, Kagome-chan," He smiled, "You think I haven't suffered worse than this? Come on, that's nonsense. I'd rather face your teeth than your sword any day."
"I don't deserve to have a pack," Kagome shut her eyes, "Perhaps I should just return to those people. Killing is what I do best, after all."
"I won't let you think like that," Hawks grabbed her by the shoulder and pulled her to lay against his chest while he rested his chin on the top of her head, "Besides, Endeavor-san wants to try again, I think. He wants to apologize to you."
"I–why?" Kagome furrowed her brows, "He... he is not obligated to join my pack." Her nails dug into her palms until they drew blood.
"Admittedly, I admire the man, but I have no idea why he thinks like he does," Hawks shrugged, "If you need time to think about it, that's perfectly fine. I won't text back until you have an answer."
"Answer him as you would," Kagome stared listlessly at the wall, "I will know when I see him if he is worth it in the end. Flame Oni are troublesome to deal with. His pups may be even more so."
"You're probably right about that!" Hawks laughed, "All right, Kagome-chan~ let's get ready and I'll text Endeavor-san. But first, we're going to stop by U.A. to drop in as guests. I'm sure you're already known there by now."
Kagome did not want to be particularly well known, but kept her mouth shut if that is what she needed to stay as Hawks' 'sidekick'. She jumped as she was lifted by the blond as he placed her to sit back on the bed, "K-Keigo?" She hated how she stammered with just a simple name, but it was very effective in getting his attention, "Please allow me to heal that wound I inflicted upon you."
"Huh? Uh, sure," Hawks was curious as he let her take the arm she had viciously bitten and watched as she placed a hand over the bloody wound, "If it's too much–" He abruptly stopped talking when he felt an almost euphoric warmth spread over him when a glow emitted from Kagome's hands and his gold eyes widened when the bite seemed to just fade right before his very sight, "Kagome-chan, that feels... good."
Far too good to ever let her fall permanently within the clutches of the League of Villains or anyone else really, so he had to keep her safe.
At all costs.
