Oh, would you look at that! I forgot that I had more characters to take care of..! Nah, I didn't, let's get on with it

The night had fallen upon the forest and Whisper was still trying to piece together what was happening and Silver was just walking next to her testing his ESP from time to time to test if he was still able to use them and it was slowly but surely coming back to him, the headaches still came but each time they were less intense making him just more intrigued by it. It probably happened because of the white fade-out he encountered near the Death Egg but that was it; he didn't even know what that fade-out was supposed to be.

And the wolf was just silently following him with her mask open, the fact that this Silver didn't seem to recognize her not even by the 'Guardian Angel' nickname which was already odd but probably the best clue she had at this moment.

"How do you say you know me?" asked Silver for the first time after a long period of silence between the two.

Whisper did not reply, instead she started setting a configuration on her mask expecting this question for quite a while, after finishing she handed it to Silver.

"Here. Watch" she instructed but the hedgehog decided to analyze the whole mask instead being really amazed by it.

"Wow, this looks amazing! Did you made this?"

"No… I did not. Just watch" she re-instructed again with now Silver following her orders holding the mask in front of his eyes in a very awkward manner.

What he saw it was short series of clips and footage in first person –which he immediately assumed it was Whisper POV- through many different activities a few of them being combat and fighting with robots and creatures that Silver couldn't identify but the main focus was a scene that looked something like a base or facility that featured Silver himself around, the Silver from the recording was exactly as he looked right with absolutely no differences, soon a curious interaction between the two played out.

'That must be her!' theSilver from the recording called out 'Hey! Guardian Angel!'

Silver saw the rest of the scene play out with great interest watching Whisper getting away in a shyly-ish manner and much to the hedgehog's surprise, Sonic was also in the recording and he seemed to be acting quite friendly unlike the experiences Silver had with him.

'You say she never joined the resistance,' the scene continued with Sonic 'That she never interacted with anyone… Therefore, obviously, she would rather work alone for whatever reason, not everyone likes being part of the crowd'.

'I see,' said Silver 'I guess I've been alone for so long that I've never considered wanting to be alone'.

Upon hearing this there was a small mental pause from Silver thinking about this line for a split second but it was quickly interrupted by following footage that showed a fight in the middle of the night where you could spot Silver fighting as well along with some other people but there was one member that completely caught his attention and instantly became his primary attention. It was a lemur bouncing all around the place… or better said the lemur, he knew exactly who she was.

"You know her?!" Silver asked surprised.

"What?" Whisper was taken aback.

"I saw Tangle here, she has been with you?"

Now Whisper was confused, Silver hadn't shown any sign that she knew who she was or any previous event but he managed to know who Tangle was? Someone he didn't even interacted with that much anyway, it just added to the wolf's confusion.

"How do you know her?" Whisper asked back very firmly.

"Uh… I- I… can't…" he replied very anxious about it "Wait, she was always talking about a-"

Suddenly, Whisper snatched the mask out of Silver's hand and quickly adapting a guarding position taking the hedgehog by surprise.

"Heard something" she said looking at the surroundings trying to spot something and for a few seconds nothing was heard which made Silver believe that maybe it was the wind or something like that but soon after the leaves around them made a sound that could be heard. Whisper set up her wispon to the lazer setting shooting into the distance as a sign of warning

Seconds late a branch from a tree broke down -a tree that wasn't even close from the shot- followed by more bushes sounds.

"Ow! Are you using your bad luck thingy?" said a female voice that Whisper knew very well.

"I don't know! Maybe… you know that" said a young male voice that Silver knew very well.

Whisper shot another warning shot now being certain who was behind those bushes… and she was right. After that second shot someone peeked through the bushes instantly as if they recognized the type of shot that was fired and that's because she did.

"Tangle?" Whisper whispered to herself she showed herself out of the leaves.

"Whisper!" Tangle cheered instantly rushing towards her friend 'hug-tackling' her with the wolf avoiding falling by supporting herself on the wispon "It feels like it's been forever! Don'tcha think?"

Whisper took a second to look at Tangle and was really surprised. The lemur was wearing a black uniform similar to her normal outfit with gray lines along with a visor of the same color, before she could ask any questions Silver interrupted by clearing his throat trying to catch her attention.

"Oh! Hi..! Ace…" she replied realizing what she did, the second 'voice' came out of the bushes showing himself to a small lynx.

"Joker? What are you two doing here?" Silver called out.

"We got sent here to look for you!" the little lynx replied defending himself "We didn't know who you were going to be with… And maybe my bad luck was involved back there" he said practically apologizing.

"Tangle…" said Whisper again being a bit too confused about the situation "What happened?"

"What happened to me? What happened to you!" the lemur replied with a sassy tone "I was worried about you and wondering where you've gone and the Dr. Owl told me nothing was found for like a week and now you're showing up acting as if I was the one who decided to play hide-and-seek".

"A weeks?" Whisper asked a question that was not one Tangle was expecting at all.

"Um, yeah, where have you been all this time?"

"Tangle… I've been here for a day".

It was clear by the reactions of everyone around there that this was an unexpected answer, everyone except 'Joker' who was mostly trying to understand the scenario.

"Um, is she from your dimension?" he asked to Tangle which now caused a surprised reaction on Whisper.

"Yes L-Joker but-"

"Okay, enough!" interrupted Silver "I need you to stop before my head begins hurting again. You two came to find me and you've completed your mission now we should be heading back. We'll figure out this dimension thing later".

"Ace, we can't go back to the… base with a stranger" Joker said the last line almost in a whisper with Silver sighing.

"I'll figure it out later Larry, let's just carry on for now" he replied sounding very tired about it that he even let the real name come out thinking that the two girls weren't listening but they, in fact, heard everything he said with even Larry noticing it.

"Well…" the lynx sighed "Guess we get going-… I'm Larry by the way" he finally introduced himself to Whisper a bit unsure if to tell the real name was thanks to Silver it was no use hiding it anymore.

"Whisper" she replied gently.

The two Sonics back on New Mobotropolis had been waiting all day inside one room doing practically nothing avoiding making the slightest physical contact so they didn't get zapped like it happened before, after they got told to wait until night to get out that's exactly what they have done and now that the night had fallen they were free to go with a few instructions from the Uncle Chuck. Instructions that the Sonic from this dimension knew very well.

And the plan he had was very simple, just go back to the Death Egg because he was sure that everyone else was going to be found there as if he was the only who got transported to another place. It was Rotor that reminded him that, no, he wasn't the only one and that going there wouldn't assure anything. But this was Sonic who we're talking about, and right now there were two Sonics in the room with one of them being completely unfamiliar with the world.

They simply didn't have any better plan.

Chris had spent the whole day talking with Sonic's parents and asking tons of questions about Sonic to a point where Bernie and Jules –Sonic's dad- found it confusing, sometimes annoying and borderline creepy, the fact that this random human kid appeared out of nowhere and seemed to knew a lot about their son despite never even heard of him was very weird but whatever. The other concerning aspect was that he was talking about some adventures he had had with Sonic which sounded like distorted versions of some that everyone knew by now.

But as they told him, he stayed in their house for a while until the sun set down so he could now finally leave to find Sonic… in a world he didn't know anything but it was not like it mattered, he was feeling really confident right now. Once he left, Jules and Bernie ended up worrying about him.

"Wow, this city looks amazing! Are you sure everyone's sleeping?" asked Sonic once the two hedgehogs were outside casually heading for the exit.

"Eh, there may be someone in their houses still doing something but we should be fine, let's head out".

"Just a question… I thought this alternate dimension thing is supposed to be this sort of stuff where everyone is, like, really unique but- we don't really look that different- how are people going to-".

"Heh, I already had that planned," he replied with a heavy smirk "You can call me Prime".

"What?"

"I told ya before, a nickname someone gave me, not me, so let's go along with it".

"I would go along with it if it didn't made you sound all super-important and… it doesn't sound good and given that I am you then you should also know that it's not good".

"Given that I am you then I clearly know that you just feel jealous" Prime replied still smirking.

"Jealous?! Ha, you wish- anyway, what is my name?"

"Yeah, um, you're just Sonic".

Before 'Sonic' could counter and complain they both felt a sensation of being followed looking around them to see where it came from, maybe due to the sound of bushes or the grass but it was clear that there was something else around them.

"Let's leave now, you can complain later" said Prime quickly heading for the exit which was right in front of them.

"Sonic! Wait!" said a childish voice from behind coming out of the shadows, and it was a childish voice because it was, indeed, a child "Sonic! Wait for me!"

Despite being the fastest thing alive, Prime was not able to avoid the incoming excited kid giving him a deep hug –probably because of the surprise element- ending in an awkward moment, Prime was being hugged by a stranger and Sonic was also confused at the newcomer who took some seconds before realizing that there were two of the same person or he was seeing doubles.

"Are you okay kid?" asked Prime still awkward after the hug was broken.

"Are you Sonic?" he asked.

"I guess".

"Then who are you?" he pointed at the other Sonic who had been slowly approaching the door.

"Oh, I just happen to be Sonic as well… and if you excuse us we have some serious business to take of so-".

"Wait-! You don't know me?" he was apparently more surprised of that than the fact that there were two Sonics.

"Should we?" they both replied at the same time.

"Wha- I'm Chris! You came to my world and- and then there was a portal and then I met your parents…"

The two hedgehogs looked at each other in confusion and shock at practically every word he said, none of them knew anyone named Chris, let alone a human, 'coming to his world' was something they were both unfamiliar with and talking about a portal was interesting, Sonic told Prime how he came here and a portal was indeed involved.

'Parents?' Sonic whispered to himself.

"Alright kid," Prime continued ", I have a trusty little place where we can tag along and discuss, let's just get out of here before someone else decides to join".

So none of these hedgehogs knew Chris but he could see that they knew something and it was familiar faces in an unfamiliar location so yeah, why not follow them. Now the question remaining was why the hell were there two Sonics in the first place?
