Let's start where we left from shall we? Not exactly on the same point but you know what I mean

"Why is there two of you, Sonic?" asked Chris.

"Yeah, there's actually just one of me," Prime explained "We're just from… different worlds with no difference between us who happened to be at the same place which happened to be the same where someone like you also there".

"Huh?" Chris seemed confused at that last line.

"You said that you know me –or us- but none of us really know who you are pal, don't you feel like you're looking for the guy?"

Chris was about to reply until he realized what exactly he was referring to, he hadn't fully got it that's for sure but it was something, he knew Sonic was from a different dimension but according to these two Sonics there was more than one, at least that's what he understood, -thanks to some movies he watched as well-. If this was true, and nothing told him that it wasn't, then where exactly was his Sonic? Not with him that's for sure.

"You haven't said anything Sonic" Prime commented after a few seconds of silence.

"Heh, heh, nothing- just that… you have parents?" he asked very straightforward.

"Yeah- why asking?"

"Nothing…" he said with a light chuckle hiding the tone of it "Buuut- are you sure we can't go back?" he immediately turned around without waiting for a response which caused Prime to rapidly to physically stop him grabbing him by the shoulder causing another sudden shock between the two.

"What happened?!" shouted Chris highly surprised.

"A little thing we're trying to handle- ow" Prime complained 'cooling off' his hand "Not that we've succeeded".

"Yeah, maybe we should continue with our thing… for now at least, let's go".

The group proceeded without addressing any further what just happened mainly to their reactions to it, Chris was mostly confused and the explanation they gave was pretty brief for his curiosity with not really that much info. Sonic thought that just maybe there were more important things to take care about and Prime was wondering what could have been going on his counterpart's mind, his reaction and question showed very clearly that despite they were almost a 1:1 recreation on the outside, there were some differences on the inside.

After a short walk they finally reached their desired destination, which was a small hut with a door and a flag on top, it was –yet once again- Freedom HQ and upon entering the place with the two companions being not-that-amazed.

"You- you live underground?" asked Chris.

"Nothing wrong with that, right?" Prime replied.

"Isn't this too big for one person?" Sonic questioned.

"Yeah… this isn't exactly my place it's more like everyone's place, which means this isn't for just one person".

Once they reached the main 'lobby' of the base the place went from puzzling to actually pretty cozy with all its little casual accessories and three[?] more doors that led to more rooms like Prime said.

"Nice place," Sonic genuinely complimented looking around him "You guys even have a kitchen?"

"Of course we do… but anyway, kid, this is where you're staying".

"What?!" Chris seemed outraged by this, despite that this was not the Sonic he knows, it was a face that he trusted so he felt it very close "You're leaving me here?!"

"Don't take it personal, there's a bigger mission to take care of right now and if you are from another dimension then this world may not be that familiar to you, it's safer for you to stay here kid".

"But I can help you! Even if you're not the Sonic I know, I've helped him many times!"

"As I said, it's safer".

"Then why would you take him?!" he said referring to the other Sonic who was just checking the room without minding too much about the discussion until Chris mentioned him.

"Well," Primed continued still with decency "Same quills, same blue, same attitude… same speed… And I still don't know how you got here".

"But-" before he could continue, he was interrupted by a very casual yet cheerful intruder coming from one the doors unaware of her surroundings simply because she was taking some notes and heading to the kitchen, once she finished taking said notes, she was fully aware of what was happening in the room.

"Mina?!" exclaimed Prime as if he just remembered something very important

"S-Sonic? Why are there… three Sonics?" the mongoose seemed appalled by it which at the same time it surprised the trio by mentioning three Sonics.

"Wha- three Sonics you say?" Prime added "Mina, I know this looks weird but have you seen a third Sonic?

Mina didn't answered with words still trying to process the scene, she only pointed to the dorms with everyone quickly knowing where the third Sonic was. Just a few seconds and another voice from behind the doors was heard and this one sounded a bit child-like.

"Hey Mina! I was wondering that maybe we could gather the whole band y'know? Maybe even my-" he interrupted himself after opening the door and finding the same scene as Mina "Back so soon?" he asked to the Sonics.

"You're a small Sonic?" asked Sonic "Now this is something I can get behind".

Fighting in the dark under the light of the moon on one of the coldest places in the planet was not the most practical environment the Freedom Fighters wanted to fight on, although technically, no one here was going to fight unless it was necessary, this was solely a 'sneak 'n rescue' mission, everyone had their assigned roles which for a twelve-person group with eleven of them not really being on their home-field, it was quite difficult to organize everything but not impossible… especially because a few of them were staying on the Sky Patrol.

It was already decided, there were going to be four groups, one of them consisted of Sally, Bunnie and Antoine who were going to extract all the data possible from the Death Egg in order to find Mecha Sally. It was Sally who suggested for Bunnie to come with her and Antoine wanted to accompany his wife. The second team was the two Sonics who would be around the insides of the Death Egg being accompanied by Archie Tails' T-Pup in case anything went wrong; they were mostly going to be lookouts.

Tails and Archie Tails were going to be outside everything monitoring what was happening inside with Archie's very trusty Miles Electric and helping them in the best way they could whether it was through T-Pup or something else, leaving Nicole, Rotor, Amy, Boom Tails –who did not wanted to stay- and Tom back on the Sky Patrol to keep an eye of it with Nicole being able to warn the Tails-es if anything unexpected were to happen. It was a well-thought plan and it was very likely to work.

Everyone that was going to enter was settling behind a small hill of rocky terrain waiting for the foxes to lower the defenses of a bunker that would lead to an underwater passage to the Death Egg, Tails had already been here basically yesterday so he knew the way, except that this time the way had already been crafted by their previous visit so there was no entrance to unlock anything as it was already unlocked.

After noticing the very clear sign that the entrance was open and entering the base they found themselves in a wide area that featured a lot of robots lined up stored in compartments waiting to be used and they were about to because they all instantly activated probably by some sort of defense mechanism but there was no time to think about it, there were some robots and they needed to be taken down.

"I thought we'd taken down those!" Tails said through T-Pup's radio.

"Don't sweat it, I can take care of it" said Archie Sonic.

Sally was about to reply to that statement but before she could even think on the witty reply Sonic did a fast lap around the room leaving a trail of smoke behind, and then Boom was going to get into the mix but before he could properly choose a move to do Archie finished his second lap having already decimated the small horde of robots smirking back at the group.

"Of course that just happened" Boom said to himself.

"You'll ge' used to it" chuckled Bunnie.

"Um, yeah, so you'll have to continue through the hole with the staircase over there," continued Tails "It will lead to an underwater passage".

"Well, of course it does" Archie Sonic said… to himself with sarcasm.

"Heh, don't tell me you're scared of water" Boom replied trying to boost his superiority.

"I've never said I'm scared… why? Are you scared?" now he was the one smiling.

"What makes you think that? Are you trying to avoid the fact that-"

"And what makes you think that?"

Sally, Bunnie and Antoine looked at each other with different reactions and looking back at the two Sonics while simply heading for the 'sewer' entrance.

"Why did we bring two Sonics together?" asked Antoine.

"Beats me" replied Bunnie.

But still, as the team went through the path, the two foxes were discussing some oddities, especially with Tails.

"I thought this place was destroyed" he said.

"What do you mean?" his counterpart asked.

"We already went through this place and some orcas attacked… this place should be a flooded cave or something like that".

"Then we should be thankful that it isn't, even if… it doesn't make sense".

Back with the group this time there were no orcas around the tunnel so their walk quite a peaceful one all the way into the Death Egg where once they exited there was nothing to fight against despite everyone assuming it and getting ready for it. Instead it was a donut-shaped room with the middle of it being filled with water probably leading to the ocean.

"Well, this definitely looks different," said Sally checking two more hallways "Where do we go from here?"

"Um, this is how far we got last time before whatever happened, happened, our Sonic was the one who was supposed to be leading us and knew that Mecha Sally was here but-".

"Then we'll split," Boom suggested "I mean this is practically begging for us to do exactly that".

"Do you think zat is smart?" asked Antoine "This place is known of not being a safe-".

"That's what they want you to believe fox," he said with an apathetic look "All of these bases try to look intimidating, they have a bunch of disposable robotsand all of that but then you'll see that it was just a farce because he never had a plan in the first place".

While the group just looked at him weird, Antoine just seemed quite offended.

"I'm a coyote…"

"So a' we spreadin'?" asked Bunnie.

"Hmph, I think so… Sonic-".

"I'll take my twin;" Archie interrupted Sally already confirming any command "You three can go on your own path… We'll return if nothing exciting shows up".

"Right," agreed Sally "We can do the same… T-Pup, you come with us as well".

As the team was inside the Death Egg already on the move for their goal, the target they were hunting for was near them and knowing their moves, but it was not in the base, it was outside and it had the Sky Patrol on her sight

I'm back everyone! I have a new keyboard so things should get rolling again :D

I wanted to do more in this chapter, i felt that it was too short for my liking but leaving things in a cliffhanger it's always cooler, but also because it's been a month since my last update and I wanted to give you guys something!
