Days later Ruby and Travis are onboard the Airship to Beacon Academy seated next to each other. Accompanying Travis were his friends Team Infinity who are in different rows. Ruby's older sister Yang Xiao Long was currently squeezing her in a bone-crushing hug.
"Oh, I can't believe my baby sister is going to Beacon with me!" Yang said excitedly "This is the best day ever!"
"Please stop….." Ruby gasped as she struggled to breathe.
"But I'm so proud of you!"
"Really Sis, it was nothing."
"What do you mean? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees."
"I don't want to be the "bee's knees", okay? I don't want to be on any kind of knees! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees!" Ruby said.
"Your sister is just really happy for you Ruby," Travis said.
Yang then noticed Travis. "So you're the guy who helped my little sister."
This allowed Travis to get a good look at Yang's features and one word came to his mind; Gorgeous.
"Whoa, she's hot." He thought before shaking his head. "It was nothing. Helping others is what I do."
"You're okay in my books just for that," Yang said as Travis smiled.
Meanwhile across the aisle were the other members of Team Infinity. They were Kamikaze Judai, Ben Shigura, Drake Silverblood, Momonga Parker, Arcelia Ka, Yuki Kaze, Ren Smith, Alma Nevers, and Toshinori Midoriya. They were led by Kamikaze Judai who was also the founder of Team Infinity.
"Looks like Travis got a crush there," Kamikaze said slyly.
Kamikaze was a tall and slim young man. He was 6'6 with brown eyes and brown skin, showing his African-American heritage and his hair was thick curly, and black. His clothes consisted of a black leather jacket with a golden t-shirt underneath, blue denim jeans and white sneakers, a red bandana headband, and black fingerless gloves. He was laid back in his seat with his hand behind his head.
"Why are you saying the obvious again, Kamikaze?" Drake commented.
Drake was a white-haired, red-eyed, and pale-skinned young man with a physical resemblance to Soma Cruz from the Castlevania series. He wore a red long coat with a red turtleneck underneath, black gauntlets black dress pants, and black suede shoes. He sat dignified in his seat with his hands clasped in his lap.
"Why do you have to be such a killjoy?" Kamikaze whined.
"I'm only trying to make sure you act your age." Drake simply replied as Kamikaze comically moped with dark clouds hanging over his head.
"What's with you, Ruby? Aren't you excited?" Yang said as she noticed her sister was still feeling unsure of herself.
"Of course I'm excited... I just…" Ruby sighed. "I just got moved ahead by two years. I don't want people to think I'm special or anything."
"But you are special," Yang said reassuringly, wrapping her sister in a one-armed hug.
"Thanks, Yang."
"You guys are really close huh?" Travis asked.
Ruby beamed and nodded. "Yup! Yang and I are joined at the hip."
"Are you guys half-sisters? That's why you have different last names?" Travis observed.
"We came from different mothers but the same father. Since both our moms were dad's old teammates, it doesn't really matter in the end." Yang said.
Their attention was then drawn to the 2D animated newscast on Vale News Network playing nearby, talking about the robbery and showing Roman's mugshot.
"The robbery was led by nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale Police Department. Back to you, Lisa." The News Anchor said.
The mugshot changes to Lisa Lavender, with a photo of animal-eared demonstrators holding signs saying "WE ARE NOT ANIMALS!" followed by an image of the logo of a growling red wolf's head with three scratch marks.
"Thank you, Cyril. In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now been disrupted…" Lisa said.
One of Team Infinity's members perked up at this information as the news feed cut off and a hologram of Glynda replaced it.
"Hello, and welcome to Beacon!"
"Who's that?" Yang asked.
"My name is Glynda Goodwitch."
"Oh."
"You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world." The hologram of Glynda said before disappearing.
"Oh, wow! Look, you can see Signal from up here!" Ruby said as she and other students looked through the glass walls at the town below. "I guess home isn't too far after all!"
"Beacon's our home, now," Yang says.
Meanwhile, Travis had gone to his team and they were having a conversation.
"So it begins my friends," Drake said.
"Yes, and we won't let what happened in Arcee's reality take place here," Kamikaze said.
"We're gonna take down that bitch and her lackeys." Ben chimed in, punching his fist into his palm.
Ben was 6'4, just two inches shorter than Kamikaze, he had curly and messy black hair his skin was relatively pale and he had hazel-colored eyes with oval glasses with blue rims. He wore a black turtleneck, blue jeans, and black dress shoes.
"Damn right we are." Arcelia "Arcee" Ka said.
Arcee was 5'9, with long black hair tied back into a braid, a white tiger tail wrapped around her waist, and F-Cup breasts. She wore a combination of red and black, her clothes mainly consisting of an open back, sleeveless mesh top connected to a choker around her throat, with a matching open back red-lined lace-up the back corset that hugged her figure and made her chest pop against the mesh fabric stopping right above her belly button with a pair of tights under a pair of daisy dukes, and martial arts slippers on her feet.
They all hear a passenger groaning and hunched over nearby, running to the back of the ship.
"That has to be Jaune," Kamikaze remarked.
"The infamous vomit boy…" Ben said with a chuckle.
"I have a good feeling about what's gonna happen next," Arcee said.
"Well... I guess the view isn't for everyone." Yang said, rolling her eyes as she saw Jaune upchuck whatever he last ate.
"It was a nice moment while it lasted," Ruby said.
The ship is seen approaching Beacon across a large body of water.
"I wonder who we're gonna meet! I just hope they're better than Vomit Boy." Ruby thought.
She then noticed Yang's shoes had vomit on them.
"Oh, Yang, gross! You have puke on your shoe!" Ruby shouted in horror.
"Gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross!" Yang said while panicking.
"Told you so," Arcee said.
"I'll handle this," Travis said, walking towards Yang.
"Allow me." He said before covering Yang's shoes with golden energy which disappeared as quickly as it appeared leaving Yang's shoes clean as a whistle.
"Oh thank you thank you thank you!" Yang said while hugging Travis in a bone-crushing hug.
"Uhhh…..You're welcome." Travis said while burning red with embarrassment, much to the rest of his team's amusement.
The scene changes to a view of several ships carrying students and docking at the entrance of the school. As soon as one lands, Jaune Arc emerges and goes over to the nearest trash can, hunching over it as he loses his lunch.
Ruby, Yang, and Team Infinity alongside several other students walk out of the ship and head down the paved path to the front of the school.
"Wow..." Ruby said as she took in the view of Beacon Academy.
"The view from Vale's got nothing on this!" Yang said.
"Ohmygosh, sis! That kid's got a collapsible staff! And she's got a fire sword!" Ruby said, bouncing up and down excitedly. She tries to wander off but Yang firmly grabs her.
"Easy there, little sister. They're just weapons!"
"Just weapons? They're an extension of ourselves! They're a part of us! Oh, they're so cool!" Ruby gushed.
"Well, why can't you swoon over your own weapon? Aren't you happy with it?" Yang said.
"Of course, I'm happy with Crescent Rose! I just really like seeing new ones. It's like meeting new people, but better..." Ruby said while hugging her weapon.
"Ruby, come on, why don't you go try and make some friends of your own?" Yang said while playfully pulling down her sister's hood.
"But... why would I need friends if I have you?" Ruby said while taking off her hood.
"Well..." In a flash, a group of other students surrounded Yang, and they all dashed down the road "Actually, my friends are here. I Gotta go catch up. 'Kay, see ya, bye!"
"Wait, where are you going?! Are we supposed to go to our dorms? Where are our dorms? Do we have dorms? I don't know what I'm doing..." A dizzy Ruby said.
Travis and Team Infinity approached Ruby.
"Your sister ditched you huh?" Kamikaze said. "That wasn't very nice of her."
"Don't worry about it. Yang is always looking out for me. I just have to muster up the courage to make my own friends." Ruby said. "Besides Travis is my friend."
"I am glad we're friends, Ruby," Travis said.
"And anyone who's a friend of Travis is a friend of ours," Kamikaze said gleefully.
"You're nice guys," Ruby said before tripping.
She falls backward into a luggage cart, sending cases flying.
"What are you doing?!" A white-haired and blue-eyed girl wearing white clothing demanded.
"Uh, sorry!" Ruby said, nervously raising her hands.
"Sorry?! Do you have any idea of the damage you could have caused?" The White Girl exclaimed.
"Uuhhh..." Ruby said, holding up a case.
"Give me that!" The White Girl snarled as she snatches the luggage from Ruby and opens it to reveal its shining contents "This is Dust - mined and purified from the Schnee quarry!"
"Uuuhhhh..." Ruby said, awkwardly frozen.
"What are you, brain-dead?" The White Girl shrieked while holding out a vial of red Dust and shutting the case. "Dust! Fire, water, lightning, energy!" she said, shaking the vial for emphasis unknowing causing some of its contents to spill out.
"I... I know..." Ruby muttered before she started coughing from the Dust pouring into her face.
Kamikaze noticed this.
"Ummm lady, you're shaking a very volatile substance there." However, he was ignored.
"Are you even listening to me? Is any of this sinking in? What do you have to say for yourself?!" She says as she continues to berate Ruby.
Ruby, who had been receiving more and more Dust to her face, finally sneezes, which erupts into a full-blown explosion of flame, snowflakes, and electricity. The bottle she had been holding flies over the courtyard and at the feet of a black-haired girl wearing a bow the same color, who picks it up and notices the Schnee Dust Company logo on the side as she reads from a book and looks over at the scene of the explosion.
The dust and smoke cleared to reveal everyone at the scene to be unharmed.
"Uhhh what just happened?" Ruby says confused as to why they haven't been blown up.
"I warped the explosion away as it happened," Kamikaze explained.
"Warp away? What do you mean?" Ruby asked.
"Ruby, all you need to know is that I'm full of surprises," Kamikaze smirked.
"Unbelievable! This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about!" The White Girl screeched angrily.
"Well Excuuuuuuuuuuuuse me, princess, you're the one who was shaking the container of Dust." Kamikaze countered.
The White Girl angrily turned to face Kamikaze.
"And who are you?!" she demanded.
"Hey watch your attitude princess!" Alma said.
"Excuse me! The White Girl said indignantly at Alma.
"You heard me. Don't go blaming others for your screw-ups! Maybe if you were nicer this accident wouldn't have happened Princess," Alma said.
Alma was an ivory-skinned nineteen-year-old girl with long black hair, wearing a long-sleeved black crop top, black jeans, and black biker boots. She wore black eyeliner and black lipstick and had D-Cup Breasts.
"Why I ought to…." The White Girl growled.
"It's heiress, actually." A female voice said, causing everyone to turn towards the speaker who was the same girl who picked up the bottle. "Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, one of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world."
"Finally! Some recognition!" Weiss said smugly.
"The same company infamous for its controversial labor forces and questionable business partners." The Bow Girl said.
"Wha- How dare- The nerve of... Ugh!" Weiss said angrily before snatching the bottle from the Bow Girl and stomping off followed by her servants who were carrying her briefcases.
"I promise I'll make this up to you!" Ruby yelled apologetically to Weiss. She sighs "I guess I'm not the only one having a rough first day…" Ruby then turns to The Bow Girl "So, what's..."
She stopped when she realized she disappeared and sighed dejectedly, collapsing to the ground.
"Welcome to Beacon..."
Travis walks over to her. "Cheer up Ruby, you still got us."
Travis then stretches out his hand to Ruby who grabs it and pulls herself off the ground as she smiled at them.
"Thanks, you guys."
They were then approached by Jaune, who had clearly gotten over his motion sickness from earlier
"Hey... I'm Jaune Arc."
"Oh, hello, I'm Ruby Rose," Ruby said.
"I'm Travis Castor," Travis said.
"I'm Kamikaze Judai," Kamikaze said.
"I'm Ben Shigura," Ben said.
"My name is Drake Silverblood," Drake said.
"I'm Momonga Parker."
Momonga was a dark-haired, skinny young man with glasses. He wore a tan jacket, with a blue hoodie underneath, jeans, and sneakers.
I'm Arcelia Ka but you can just call me Arcee." Arcee said.
I'm Yuki Kaze." Yuki said while displaying a peace sign.
Yuki was a tall girl with long fluffy orange hair and purple eyes who wore a Blood Red hoodie with Ocean Blue jeans, brown leather sandals, and E-Cup breasts.
"Hey, I'm Ren Smith," Ren said.
Ren's face resembled that of Ren Amamiyama/Akira Kurusu from Persona 5. He wore a large scarf (similar to the one Charlotte Katakuri from One Piecewears), a brown leather jacket, a white shirt, blue jeans, and black boots.
"I'm Alma Nevers, nice to meet you Jaune." Alma said.
"I'm Oliver Tempest! You can call me Ollie!" Ollie said excitedly.
Ollie resembled a fusion of the Human form of Rimuru Tempest from Tensei Slime and the Heroic Spirit Enkidu from Fate. He had crimson hair and golden eyes and his attire consisted of a royal blue t-shirt under a white Captain's Jacket which was unbuttoned, cargo pants, and black sneakers.
"I'm Toshinori Midoriya but you can just call me Toshi," Toshi said.
Toshi looks like Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia, his hair is purple and he has a hairstyle similar to Light Yagami's. He wore a blue T-Shirt with a picture of All Might and the words "Go Beyond Plus Ultra!" on it, a silver necklace, a pair of gray pants, a pair of dark blue sneakers, and a pair of black fingerless gloves. He also had a blue Hunter VGX on his left arm.
"We're Team Infinity," Kamikaze says. "I know, pretty Gary-Stu name but it's all we got."
Ruby then remembered something about Jaune.
"Aren't you the guy that threw up on the ship?"
Inside the walls of Beacon is filled with scenic trees, arching architecture, and a winding road alongside a river, down which Ruby, Jaune, and Team Infinity were walking down.
"All I'm saying is that motion sickness is a much more common problem than people let on!" Jaune explained.
"Look, I'm sorry! Vomit Boy was the first thing that came to mind." Ruby laughed.
"She isn't wrong there," Travis said.
"Oh, yeah? What if I called you Crater Face?" Jaune challenged.
"Hey, that explosion was an accident!" Ruby said defensively.
"Well, like I said before, the name's Jaune Arc! Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue - ladies love it!" Jaune bragged but failed to convince Ruby and Team Infinity.
"Do they?" Ruby said skeptically.
"I'm not buying what he's selling," Alma said.
"They will! Well, I-I hope they will. My mom always says that... Never mind." Jaune said dejectedly.
"Your mom told you that?" Ben said quizzically. "Jaune not everything your mom says is going to work on girls."
"Yeah, you're gonna drive them away from you," Kamikaze added. Ruby giggled at Ben and Kamikaze's remarks while Jaune moped. After a brief and awkward silence, Ruby decided to break the ice.
"So... I got this thing!" Ruby says as she pulls out Crescent Rose and stabs it into the ground.
"Whoa! Is that a scythe?" Jaune asked in awe.
"It's also a customizable high-impact sniper rifle!" Ruby beamed.
"A-wha...?"
"It's also a gun." Kamikaze clarified for him.
"Oh. That's cool!"
"So what've you got?" Ruby asked Jaune.
"Oh! I, uh...I got this sword!" Jaune said while unsheathing a blade.
"Ooooohh!" Ruby said with sparkles in her silver eyes.
"Yeah, and I've got a shield, too!" Jaune said as he gets his scabbard, raises his arm, and expands the metal into his defense.
"So, what do they do?" Ruby asked while touching the shield.
Jaune is fumbling with the shield as it retracts off his arm, expands, and retracts again before putting it back in place and finally shrinking it down for good before placing it on his belt
"The shield gets smaller, so when I get tired of carrying it, I can just... put it away..." He said tiredly.
"But... wouldn't it weigh the same?" Ruby observed.
"Yeah, it does..." Jaune says dejectedly.
"Well, I'm kind of a dork when it comes to weapons, sooo... I guess I did go a little overboard when designing it." Ruby says.
"Wait - you made that?!" Jaune said.
"Of course! All students at Signal forge their own weapons! Didn't you make yours?" Ruby said.
"It's a hand-me-down. My great-great-grandfather used it to fight in the war." Jaune said.
"Sounds more like a family heirloom to me!" Ruby laughed. "Well, I like it! Not many people have an appreciation for the classics these days."
"Yeah, the classics..." Jaune said, sheathing his sword.
"Do you guys have weapons too?" Ruby asked Team Infinity as she turned to them. "Travis had a cool looking sword when he helped me."
"Yeah, we do," Kamikaze said, taking out his large Adamantium Battle Axe from a pocket dimension.
"This is Oathkeeper." He said holding it out.
"That's a big Axe…." Jaune said nervously.
"That looks so cool!" Ruby beamed. "Did you make it?"
"Yup," Kamikaze confirmed proudly. "I also have this."
Oathkeeper disappeared back into the pocket dimension and Two dual blaster pistols appeared in Kamikaze's hands.
"These are blaster pistols that shoot highly condensed plasma bolts."
"Cool!" "Can you shoot them please?" Ruby said.
"Sure." Kamikaze shrugged as he proceeded to fire a couple shots into the sky.
"Whoa, those guns pack a punch," Jaune commented.
"Show them your weapons guys," Kamikaze told his team.
Ben took out his Chainsword and one of his Taurus Raging Hunter Magnum Revolvers.
"I can cause a lot of damage with these babies!" He said proudly, the Chainsword revving up briefly for emphasis.
Travis summoned his sword, the Infinity Blade from Fortnite and Wonder Woman's Shield. Drake unsheathed his katana, Yamato. Momonga revealed the Darksaber. Arcee summoned Destroyer, the Marto Hercules Sword of Veracity. Yuki summoned Stormbreaker from the MCU and a copy of Captain America's Shield. Ren summoned the OmniWrench from Ratchet and Clank. Alma took out the Needle of Lost Dreams, a needle-like sword. Ollie took out Death's Scythe from Dante's Inferno (causing Ruby to squeal with delight and Jaune to shudder). Finally, Toshi took out his Star Sabers which were the GN Swords from Mega Man.
Ruby and Jaune were amazed by the weapons of Team Infinity.
"You guys have awesome weapons!" Ruby squealed.
"Thanks for the compliment, Ruby," Kamikaze said.
"Ummm…So where do we have to go next? I don't know where I am going." Jaune said sheepishly.
"Really? I was following you." Ruby said.
"You gotta be kidding me." Kamikaze sighed.
"This is gonna be a long day, I think..." Arcee groaned.
"Well, the journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step." Ben shrugged.
