The opening ends to an overhead view of Emerald Forest, where a black bird is flying slowly and magnificently, right up to the moment it gives a final shriek and Ruby crashes through it in a burst of feathers as she plummets downward.
"Birdie, no!"
Ruby fired off a few rounds from Crescent Rose to slow herself down, then turned the weapon into its scythe form to catch the branch of a tree in her blade and fall downward at a slower pace.
"I believe I can fly!" Kamikaze sang as he soared through the air. He then saw a Nevermore flying ahead of him and grinning maniacally Kamikaze accelerates his flight and summons Oathkeeper.
"Move Bitch!" Kamikaze roars as he flies into the Nevermore and slashes it in half. He then lands a three-point pose. "Man it's good to be me."
Weiss, armed with Myrtenaster, summoned a white snowflake circle under her and leaped off of it to the forest below.
Ben surrounded himself with a sphere of wind and used it to land casually.
"Eat your heart out Aang!"
Lie Ren descends (with Nora Valkyrie briefly being seen next to him at a faster speed) and spins in the air, eventually using StormFlower's blades to spiral around the trunk of a large tree and hit the ground, brushing off his clothes before looking up to see Yang flying through the air.
"Woo-hoo! Yeah! Alley-oop!"
Yang, soaring right over the treetops, is using her gauntlets and its fiery force to push her through the air further and further north, spinning and laughing with each blast, even when she crashes through the leaves of a tree and leaps off two trunks to tumble to the ground.
"Nailed it!" She yelled before running off.
Arcee who had landed nearby earlier heard Yang boasting and shook her head playfully.
"Never change, Yang never change."
Pyrrha, her weapon in sword form and armed with a shield, crashes through several trees and rolls on a branch, immediately shifting her blade into a rifle. and looking through the scope at Jaune as he continues to scream and fall helplessly. Pyrrha coolly transforms her weapon again to its spear form, takes a moment to evaluate her throw, and rockets the javelin deep into the forest until a "THUNK!" is heard.
"Thank you!" Jaune said in the distance.
"I'm sorry!" Pyrrha called back waving.
Drake landed gracefully in the forest before he picked up movement nearby with his enhanced hearing. Frowning, Drake headed in the direction of the moving creatures and unsheathed his sword, Yamato.
As for the others, Travis used his divine energy to create a construct to land on. Momonga shot webbing from his palms and used it to swing from branch to branch before landing safely on the ground. Yuki used her natural-born ability of flight to land without incident. Alma created a portal in mid-air and fell through it, a second portal opening up in the ground and for her to jump out of.
Ollie uses his ability of Imagination Manifestation to create a crash pad to land on. Ren Smith used his Devil Fruit, the Omni-Omni Fruit to access the power of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit and transform into a lightning bolt that struck the ground before reverting back to his original form. Finally, Toshi used his Quirk One For All to ricochet across the tree branches before jumping down.
In the middle of the forest, Ruby landed in a crouch, then darted off with a single mantra in her mind.
"Gotta find Yang! Gotta find Yang, gotta find Yang, gotta find…"
Time seemed to slow down as Ruby skidded to a halt in front of Weiss as she turned to face her. She stopped just in time for their eyes to meet and a pregnant pause followed. This ends when Weiss turns on her heel and walks the other way.
"Wait! Where are you going?! We're supposed to be teammates…" Ruby pleads following Weiss.
Weiss is seen struggling through the forest, giving an occasional grunt or "Ow!" as she pushes plants out of her way. She brushes herself off and sighs in relief when she hears a voice above her. She sees Jaune struggling to free himself as he hangs from a tree with Pyrrha's spear embedded in his hoodie.
"Come on, come on! Stupid...!" Jaune said.
As he gives up trying to pull it out, he looks down and sees Weiss, giving an embarrassed wave. Weiss simply heads back in the direction she came from and Jaune groans in dejection.
"By no means does this make us friends," Weiss said sharply to Ruby before dragging her. The Rose Reaper was too overjoyed to care as she was dragged away into the bushes.
"You came back!"
"Wait! Come back! Who's going to get me down from here?!" Jaune yelled as he watched the two disappear into the forest.
"Jaune?" Came Pyrrha's voice asks as he looked down to see her. "Do you... have any spots left on your team?"
"Very funny," Jaune muttered as Pyrrha smiled.
Elsewhere Kamikaze is walking through the forest hoping to find a familiar face.
"This forest is a lot bigger than I thought." He said to himself.
Suddenly he heard movement in the bushes and slowly approached with Oathkeeper.
"Surprise motherfucker!" Kamikaze yells as charges into the bushes, scaring the figure in the bushes.
"Dude! It's me!" Ben yelled.
Kamikaze paused when he recognized his friend and grinned sheepishly. "Oh, I thought you were Grimm."
After that incident Kamikaze and Ben started walking to find the others.
"Use your Psychic Powers to scan the area," Kamikaze suggested.
"Okay," Ben said as he used his Third Eye of Tzeentch to search for people. He picked up two familiar figures.
"I think I found Arcee and Alma!"
"Alright let's get them!"
They soon found the girls who had found each not long before the pair arrived.
"Took you guys long enough." Arcee said with a smirk.
"We would have gotten here faster if Mr. Ax-Crazy over here didn't try to hack me into pieces," Ben said.
"Hey, I said I was sorry bro!" Kamikaze said with his hands in the air.
"Knock it off guys," Arcee said. "Now I think we have enough people to form one team according to Beacon's rules."
"Just four people per team?" Ben asked.
"Yeah," Arcee confirmed.
"Well, that means two members of our team would be on their own," Kamikaze notes. "Let's hope they can find the right people to team with."
The scene changes to Weiss trudging through the forest, with Ruby back a ways behind her.
"What's the hurry?" Ruby asks Weiss.
"I will not let my mission be delayed because you're too slow! I swear if I get a bad grade because of your-What the...?" Weiss snaps only to be surprised by Ruby suddenly appearing beside her.
"I'm not slow, see? You don't have to worry about me!"
Weiss is looking back and is slightly amazed.
"When did...?" She mutters.
"Weiss, just because I don't exactly know how to deal with people doesn't mean I don't know how to deal with monsters!" Ruby stated as she put an arm around the skeptical Weiss' shoulders.
"You're about to see a whole different side of me today, Weiss, and after it's all over, you're going to be like, "Wow! That Ruby girl is really, really cool and I wanna be her friend!" Ruby said.
Ruby disappears in a shower of rose petals, which Weiss waves away from her face just as she hears crackling and rustling in the bushes around her.
"You may be fast, but you still excel at wasting time!" Weiss says definitely before realizing nobody was responding. "Ruby?"
She suddenly heard noises behind her as multiple pairs of red eyes stared at her from the bushes and a deep growl was heard. She turned around and spotted a large, jagged Beowolf emerging from a bush and approaching her.
"Ruby!" Weiss yells in fright.
The Beowolf roars and lunges at her.
Weiss, panicked, tries to defend herself with Myrtenaster.
Suddenly the Beowolf is blasted to dust before it can make contact with Weiss.
"What?" Weiss says confused. "Ruby was that you?"
Emerging from the bushes in front of her was Drake with Yamato unsheathed and behind him were the slowly dissipating corpses of a Beowolf pack.
"Miss Schnee fancy meeting you here," Drake said.
"Wait, you're part of that group!" Weiss said, recognizing Drake.
"My name is Drake Silverblood." Drake introduced himself formally.
"I'm Weiss Schnee. Though you probably knew that already." Weiss said as Drake helped her up.
Before more could be said, the two were interrupted by more growls as more Beowolves appeared from the bushes around them and began to surround them.
"Well, then Weiss I hope you are prepared because we have to fight our way out of this little predicament," Drake said, focused on the Creatures of the Grimm. "Come to die by my hands, you foul creatures! I'll gladly show you the way to Hell!"
