Chapter-03 Gohan Goes to School
The first time my mom yelled at me was terrifying, her wrath seemed to encompass all of my vision as my transformation winked out. I realized that facing Vegeta in an actual fight didn't compare to the visceral fear that I had upset this woman.
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING YOUNG LADY?!" My mom said.
"I...I was trying out my Saiyan abilities?"
"You said you didn't want to fight! Now you changed your word at the first opportunity? Are you going to be one of these training-addicted Saiyan's too?" My mom asked, going from anger to near tears.
"Mom, I don't want to fight, but...I made a mistake when I came here and if I don't learn to control it, I am a danger to those around me. I am sorry that I lost control, but I figured I would do it now than when something bad happens. Gohan wouldn't have let anything happen to me," I pleaded.
"Yeah, Mom, she was nervous about doing it, but I convinced her-" He was interrupted by the sheer force of my mother's gaze.
"I don't like this Chiyo, you just got here sweety. You are technically under a year old," Chichi said.
I nodded at that, "I understand that mom, but I clearly have a level of maturity that is almost on par with Gohan at least. I might be physically only a few months old, but my body started out at Gohan's age, as his twin. I don't want to fight, but what if I have to? Wouldn't it be better to know how to fight, and not have to than to have to fight and not know how?"
She looked at me with sadness in her eyes, "You really want this Chiyo? I want you to at least know peace and have a foundation for your future. What if you find a husband?"
"I...well I am not too worried about that right now, I am still young after all..." I hedged. "Look, Mom, I think that it is necessary to learn how to fight, and learn to control my power so I don't hurt people."
"Isn't that what you were doing with learning to heal?"
"Yes, but this other power is a different form, it's something I have to learn how to control. It is...a bit more destructive than healing Ki," I said.
She looked at me before defeat became determination, "If that is the case, I will train you. I want to be a part of your life, and that means I will train Goten as well."
"Really?" I asked.
"Of course sweety. I tried to keep Gohan out of it just so he could pursue education instead of martial arts..." Chichi said.
I walked up to her and pulled my mom into a hug, "I think it is amazing that you want to teach us, I absolutely want you to teach me how to protect myself and the ones I care about. Gohan feels the same, and limiting him to only be a student isn't pushing him to be the best person he can be."
"What do you mean sweety?"
I looked to Gohan who had a contemplative look on his face as I spoke about him, "I don't think pushing him to learn is bad by any means, but hindering his training when he clearly loves it seems pointless. He can do both can't he?" She looked down, "No, you are right, he can, I was just worried he would be limited in life."
"He's incredible mom, he will be fine."
Gohan was now rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, "You know I am here, right?"
In the next few months, I was able to finally master my Ki Healing skill and I went to nearby Hospitals at night, I sped into hospital rooms where Ki sign to go in and heal people that were asleep. I don't think I was caught, but word got out that someone was secretly healing people with bad injuries and diseases, people would wait at Hospitals in hopes of being healed, but I only did it if I was sure to not get seen.
All that practice of healing others enhanced my control a bit, allowing me to focus the energy on an area around me, enabling me to heal more than one person at once. I had been able to actively heal myself and that also carried over to Gohan through the bond, something that took some time to perfect.
Speaking of Gohan, I have been training with him, Goten, Trunks, and Chichi. My mom had been teaching Goten and me a different style that she used, which was a mix of aspects from the Turtle style and something she used from the remnants of the old Fire Kingdom.
I felt comfortable striking with my hands and feet at the end of the three months, and my balance was catching up with the rest. Moving in combat in conjunction with the ability to strike
I had been working directly with Gohan to practice different abilities with our twin bond. We could telepathically communicate across the world at this point and sharing healing and Ki was something we did as easily as breathing. We helped each other when studying, as I had a different perspective than Gohan did and each of our insights into things was vastly different.
He was so book smart, if I asked him about a fact he will connect it to things you have long forgotten, and he will remember every detail and be able to teach its concept. I had a more abstract knowledge of things and I was trying my best to get him used to social interactions with people he didn't know. I seemed very knowledgeable until the day that I was hit on.
I was a male in my old life and while much of my memories are blurred, this was an entirely new experience...I blushed furiously and did not know how to handle it. It was a definitely humbling experience and I had to rethink my confidence in social settings.
It was at a grocery store that I stopped at with Gohan and some weirdo was telling me he was going to 'show me a good time.' I cringed and Goten and Trunks stood up for me. It was so embarrassing that I couldn't handle it, but thankfully I had the two little powerhouses to protect me from gross people.
Chichi had asked me if I wanted to go to school with Gohan and I almost decided to go. But in the long run, I had plenty of school in my last life...I want to live with my mother and brother, and I said she could home-school me if she was worried about my education level, but I told her that there were a bunch of things I had to make up for since I was only alive for a while. Mostly being with my brothers. Chichi was alright with that.
When Gohan finally started school, I would still hang out with Goten, Trunks, Bulma, my Mom, and 18 who always had Marron with her. We would either relax and talk about life or my mom would train me and the boys. Bulma had also installed a pool that we frequented on any afternoon. Being able to fly out of the water made for some fun with the boys as we played games and generally had a good time.
The more I trained the more I felt like I finally discovered a passion for martial arts. I never liked the pain, be that receiving or giving, but I did enjoy the passion you feel while in the fight.
Vegeta would even take us into the gravity chamber sometimes. He would make it a point for me to not transform and spar with him in my base form. It was extremely difficult, as he would tear through my defenses, but I never gave up and got better as we went on.
Gohan and I would train together as if we were fighting a single opponent or more but as a team. It worked out well as we could almost as one mind, making us a much different threat than what a single fighter would be. Plus it was fun to work together like that, feeding off each other's battle senses.
I made a vow to continue regular visits to the hospitals in my area but I only healed people who were asleep. I could tell if they were faking. The more I did so the better I got at healing..as in the more people I could heal at once, the speed was still something that I couldn't change. Healing diseases and sickness was much more difficult as it require precision and focus but I became adept at that and had even cured my mom and Goten before they could get too sick.
I stayed out of Gohan's school life, but one day Gohan came home asking Bulma for a silly disguise so he could go around helping people as a superhero. I managed to convince him to keep the 'Gold Fighter' superhero name and talked Bulma into a futuristic-looking visor that would cover most of his face but leave his golden hair on display. That just left the rest of the outfit.
He wouldn't budge on the cape but I was able to make it gold along with turning his superhero gi into a white one with black trim. He would still wear the black under suit so his new colors would be white, black, and gold. Which would look amazing with his Super Saiyan hair.
He looked better...but still super nerdy, which was why we loved him...he was a genuine person who geeked out on being a hero.
"Well, that looks better Gohan, you are still the Gold Fighter," Bulma said.
"Haha, thanks Bulma, thanks, Sis! I appreciate the help!" Gohan said, barely restraining himself from making a pose.
"Anytime, just don't go making poses...having a superhero is enough as is," I said.
"A superhero huh...what about the Twilight Healer?" Gohan said and my heart dropped as I flinched.
I had been sneaking out ever since I could use my healing ki to run by the hospital and ER room. They had dedicated a room where people would wait overnight in hopes of being healed, but I wouldn't do it if they weren't asleep. Word had spread though and there were articles that had called me the Twilight Healer. I didn't think Gohan would have found out though..he's such a deep sleeper.
"G-Gohan how did you know?" I asked with horror.
It was Bulma who answered while Gohan smirked at me, "Heh! It was pretty obvious who the healer was...who do you think set up that mystery healing room that everyone with serious injuries has been going to? We all know it is you Chiyo...and it makes us proud."
"Yeah sis, I don't know if I told you...but when I said that I could feel when you are healing people, I meant EVERY time you are healing people. I get rejuvenating energy through our bond and I feel your emotions while doing it. I can feel your compassion as you heal people."
"Oh..." I said while blushing. "W-well don't get so busy heroing that you forget about Goten and me!" I said with false anger.
My memory of my previous life was fading, but I remember quite a few things about the 'Gohan goes to school' arc as it was my favorite in the original DBZ timeline. I wrote a lot of it down so I had a reference but it was still strange losing my memories. At some point, Videl would force Gohan to join the tournament and he would tell us all he's going to join it. Goku will telepathically message everyone with the help of King Kai and tell everyone he's coming back for a day, beginning a dark time.
I knew that the martial arts tournament was what brought Majin Buu and that whole series of unfortunate events. He would be awoken by the Supreme Kai's ignorance. Babidi would have to be destroyed, along with his minions. I knew we could befriend Majin Buu if we could remove evil Buu and as long as Babidi is still alive that wouldn't be possible.
When Buu first wakes up he is the product of the original Kai that Supreme Kai speaks of being absorbed. But when he removed the Evil Buu along with the rest of the absorbed power... he was left as Kid Buu. That was his original form...that is what I would be going to befriend.
After Babidi was destroyed, we could take out the evil and all the other power from the Fat Buu, splitting it into Evil and Kid Buu. Then we would destroy the Evil Buu before it can absorb the Kid Buu. It is complicated but if I could get it to work I would have just acquired a powerful ally that is essentially a child at Goten's age.
We would just raise him with love and show him what it meant to fight for good. He could actually join the Z-Fighters and make it into the Tournament of Power in this timeline.
Plus Goku would approve...I just needed to get Gohan to believe that I had a sight of the future. I had a plan for that and it would involve waking him from his crazy Saiyan sleep mode.
"GOHAN! WAKE UP!" I 'quietly' shouted.
"AHH! Sis! Wha-" Gohan said as I shook him awake.
"I have been trying to wake you forever!"
"Oh..uhh sorry!" Gohan said.
"It's fine, can I speak with you for a few minutes?"
He yawned and said, "Of course, sis, are you alright?"
I had a fair amount of anxiety while thinking about the near future and it was easy to show it to him as I was nervous.
"I am okay, but Gohan, I keep seeing these visions at night. I just had one that was, well it was hard to watch," I have to get Gohan on my side for this, and lying might have consequences but I still need the means to explain everything. If it comes forward that it wasn't a lie, I need to have enough proof so that he still helps me.
"What did you see?"
I told Gohan of everything that occurs at the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, how the Supreme Kai alters events only to lose control due to his lack of knowledge. How Gohan's power is stolen by the Majin-Cursed Spopovich and Yamu to revive Majin Buu.
Since we just used the Dragon Balls there would only be 1 shot at this. I doubt we will have time for Goku to Instant Transmission to Namek to use those Dragon Balls if this goes wrong.
Then we still had to convince the Supreme Kai that our plan was superior and that after Majin Buu, he would need to allow Gohan to "acquire" the Z-Sword as it would need to be destroyed.
Then the Old Kai, which Beerus trapped in the sword, would be able to unlock all of Gohan's hidden potential. I convinced Gohan about my story and laid out the basis of a plan to convince the Supreme Kai. Gohan and I were wiped out after the 2-hour discussion and I fell asleep in his bed that night for comfort.
The very next day part of the conditions for the start of the Videl Training Arc began. Namely, we saw Chobi the Dinosaur (maybe a Pterodactyl?) being shown on camera as a short and classic scum-bag anime villain whipping him. I immediately stood, it wasn't this graphic in the anime and they are casually trying to advertise it?
"Chiyo, Gohan, you can't let them keep Chobi!" Goten shouted!
"Yeah, I am going right now. Let's go Gohan!" I said.
"Hold it, Missy, you aren't going anywhere!" Mom said.
"Mom...what if it was Goten they had, would you stop to eat dinner, or would you let Gohan and I go save him?" I said.
"I...I..."
"Mom, Chobi is one of Goten and Gohan's friends! We must save him, especially before his parents find him and start rampaging through Satan City," I argued expertly.
She sighed, "Alright, but be back in an hour, dinner will be ready!" Chichi said.
"Of course mom, Gohan, I already have a plan!"
Gohan laughed, "Of course you do. Don't worry Goten, you know your sister and I will take care of Chobi."
"Yeah, you guys are the best!" Goten said.
I gave both him and my mom a hug while Gohan just rubbed the little guy's head.
We flew in and hovered above the circus and immediately spotted his cage. Right then the fat and short scumbag guy was standing with some thugs while laughing and talking about 'the dinosaur' and how it's going to make them all rich.
"Alright Gohan, you take the right three, and I'll take the left. Just knock them out and go and grab Chobi. I will take the scumbag halfway around the world and be back in a few."
"Where are you taking him?"
"To a jungle far away where he can have a chance at survival. If he wants to abuse animals with his power, then I will put him in a place where animals have the power and he can be at their mercy."
"Wow sis that is kinda mean, don't you think?"
"Giving him a fair chance at survival if he learns to respect nature around him? I would say that is more than most are offered and technically he didn't break any crimes by trying to ruin a family, so he will just get away with this and go on to do it again, legally." I explained.
Gohan looked down with the knowledge that I was probably right. "Okay sis, let's do this!"
The plan was in place and we pulled it off with no problem. The boss with the suit and hat actually pissed himself when I took off with him. I left him in some dense jungle that couldn't see a coast or any civilization in any direction while really high in the air. It was a fitting punishment. He was screaming the entire journey but I just went too fast for him to hear anything.
Gohan came home from school the next day and said that he was being blackmailed into joining the Martial arts tournament. I hadn't told him that Videl would be forcing him to join the tournament, so he was expecting to join for other reasons. I asked if he wanted me to destroy her for him and he nervously said no thank you.
"Yeah, I even asked if she wanted to go on a date instead and she said that she would rather fight me," Gohan said while bewildered. It was adorable.
I laughed at his embarrassed face, "That is great, she wants to see if you are strong enough to be her hubby."
Chichi gasped, "My Gohan is supposed to be a scholar not married so young, this is horrible!"
"But mom, just think, Gohan could have a little rugrat running around soon, could you imagine a little Gohan?! It would be so cute!" I argued.
"OH my! Chiyo, you're absolutely right! Gohan, you must bring this girl here before the tournament so we can meet her!" Chichi said.
He laughed awkwardly, "So can I join the tournament?"
"Of course, sweety, just be sure to train hard alright? I need you to impress this girl!"
Bulma laughed, "Well it seems like we know who will be winning the tournament."
Vegeta walked in, "Hah! Yeah right, I will join as well! Then we will see who is the strongest...You too Chiyo, we aren't finished!"
Both Gohan and I smiled, "Hah! You are on!" I said, then sent to Gohan through our bond, 'I think our dad will be there too!' I felt his emotions spike in excitement, and as he was about to respond, a different voice took over.
"Hey, guys! I think I will join too!" A happy voice said from the ether.
I snapped my eyes to Gohan. Hearing Goku's voice for the first time sent chills down my back. It was so innocent and loving, just like the dub version of the anime. I was standing in shock when he spoke, wondering if he would address the fact that both Goten and myself were in the room.
"Dad is that you!?" Gohan asked, breaking surprised eye contact with me to look up.
"GOKU!" Chichi said with awe.
"Hey Gohan, it is so good to hear your voice again! Is that you Chichi? I miss you both so much!"
"We missed you to dad! Are you really coming back to compete in the World Tournament?" Gohan asked.
"Yeah! I have a whole day! Chichi, I can't wait to see you for the entire day!"
"Hah! Even I am looking forward to fighting you Kakarat!" Vegeta said.
"Hah! I bet!" Goku said, "Well I have to go, but I will see you all at the World Championships!"
His connection cut out and I nervously looked up at Gohan again. I could feel his excitement through the bond and I could only feel nervousness. I guess Goku wanted to meet me face-to-face...Goten also, I can live with that.
I sent him the impression that we would talk later, we had both decided that we would drop the information about the Supreme Kai's failed plot directly in front of him. It would add to the shock when we got real reactions from everyone.
The information I had would send fear straight through the Supreme Kai. With that, the plan was in place and I just had to get a bit of training before the tournament in a couple weeks.
A few days later I was playing with Goten and Trunks, as there was a pool behind Bulma's house we all decided to have a game of Ki sensing and dodging. It was essentially the old pool game called Marco-Polo but we didn't say anything and played with Ki sense. The goal was not to splash the water outside of the pool and use our ki to manipulate the pursuer's senses all underwater. It was a great time.
I was just in one of Bulma's advanced sports bras and spandex booty shorts with the support to withstand Saiyan-level wear and tear. It even had a hole in the back for my tail! I loved clothing with tail holes, it lets me feel free!
We had just finished another game when I bonked Trunks on the head and we got out of the pool to get some juice and crackers. A classic snack.
It was then that I saw Videl for the first time. She had boots on, but they were different than I remembered. She still had black spandex shorts, but her shirt was a black tank top with a blue cut-off shirt over the top draped off one shoulder. Cute pigtails framed her face and instead of some angry little firecracker like the anime, she seemed calculating and was staring at me intently.
They were on the other side of the large pool and I could see she was exchanging words with Gohan while looking at me but I couldn't hear it. The boys flew out of the pool towards Gohan and I just casually stepped into the air behind them.
One of my favorite things to do with ki was to make it look like I could just walk on air. It was something I used to imagine as a kid, how cool would it be if I could walk anywhere?
So she was seeing something that she never saw happen in the cannon anime and Gohan seemed less nervous about her seeing our powers as much as trying to understand what the girl wanted. She couldn't figure out where to look, the crazy lady walking over a pool or two little munchkins flying out of it.
"Gohan, why don't you introduce your girlfriend?" I said with an evil smile. He could sense my amusement and mischievousness with the comment as I couldn't help but smirk at him.
He just sighed.
Videl had figured out who Gohan really was...the Gold Fighter and she had a feeling that he was the person who actually defeated Cell, her growing doubts about her father had not been something new.
Gohan and his family could do things that normal humans couldn't begin to understand. It was clear that he lived on a different level of power than humans. He casually jumped 30 feet into the air to catch a baseball and didn't understand that it wasn't a normal thing for humans to be able to do.
When she finally confronted him he nearly broke down in adorable nervousness. But she got him to promise to teach her how to fly and that they could just head there after school.
So he got into her Jet-copter and they headed for Capsule Corp...another surprise to her. People don't just 'live' at Capsule Corp and Videl wasn't sure if he was serious or not. It was a fairly long haul to West City from Satan City after all. But Gohan had said it with the same casual air that he would describe his favorite meal.
They walked to the back of the massive series of domes where he said his family was and Videl nodded as they discovered a large pool that had a few occupants.
It was then that she saw one of the most beautiful females she had ever seen...wait she had a tail, "Gohan, who is that?" Videl kept staring at the gorgeous female who was wearing a tiny spandex sports bra and booty shorts.
"That's my twin sister Chiyo, the other two are Trunks and Goten. Goten is my real little brother but they both are family."
"She's...beautiful."
Gohan just laughed, "She will blush if you say that to her."
Videl's mind was blown as the two little brothers jumped out of the water and flew over to him...that was incredible.
"Hey, Gohan! Who's this?" Goten said.
"It's probably his girlfriend!" Trunks stage whispered mockingly.
Gohan nervously laughed, "Come on guys, it's not like that." He rubbed the back of his neck and blushed.
Videl could handle the teasing of the two little brothers and it wasn't until his sister casually walked into the air while smirking that Videl was seriously shocked. Videl would never forget that image of her walking over the water with a devious smile...it was like looking at a goddess of beauty and power rise into the air she owned it.
Videl couldn't help but compare herself to the goddess literally walking on air...and felt lacking. Who were these people? Even Gohan was the most handsome teenager she had ever seen. Not to mention...HE CAN FLY. He can shoot beams, save buses, and lift planes. The mystery only grew the more she found out about him.
She looked and saw the two smaller ones, Trunks, and Goten hugging Gohan while wet and laughing. Even they could fly and were extremely adorable.
"Gohan, why don't you introduce your girlfriend?" Gohan's sister said, and Videl could feel her voice resonate through the air and it made her shiver.
Gohan nervously shook his head, "Sis! It's not like that, we're just friends! I am just teaching her how to fly! That's it!"
"Is that right...Videl Satan?" Chiyo asked ominously.
Videl stepped back in shock, "Uh, Gohan I thought you didn't tell anyone about me?"
Gohan laughed, "Yeah, my sister is special, so it is not surprising that she knew about you, but I didn't tell her."
"It's true Gohan didn't tell me anything, however, I think you should do more than just learn to fly here Videl," Chiyo said.
"What do you mean?" Videl asked.
"You should train here, and get stronger with all of us."
Videl was actually surprised and looked at Gohan, who shrugged, "I don't mind it, but I do need to train some with Chiyo in the gravity chamber...at least 4 hours a day," Gohan said.
Chiyo nodded, "That's right, we have things to accomplish."
Videl didn't understand that statement, "What do you have to accomplish?"
"You will see, train hard Videl. We all need to be stronger." Chiyo walked past her brother putting a hand on his shoulder and leaned her head against his shoulder, "Good to see you, brother."
"Come on boys, let's get our juice!" Chiyo said and raced off with Goten and Trunks before the two could respond.
Videl stared at Chiyo's back as they walked out of sight, her face concentrated. Gohan looked at his sister as well, but with a fond smile instead of a calculating glare.
"What do you think she meant by that Gohan? It sounded pretty ominous." Videl said.
"Hmm, I am not entirely sure, but I would follow her advice if I were you. She is usually not wrong about that kind of thing. It is up to you though, I promised to teach you to fly and that is a promise. But if you want to stay and train with my family then get ready, 'cause it will not be easy," Gohan said with a challenging smirk Videl hadn't seen on him before.
Videl looked at him curiously, finally seeing a more aggressive side to the calm superhero. She liked it.
"Alright, Gohan...let's train together, but don't think I will go easy on you at the tournament!" Videl said.
