Chapter 04 - The 25th World Martial Arts Tournament Part 2
"40 minutes, that has to be a record!" I said to myself as we flew back to the Tournament.
"I am still in shock that it worked! And so smoothly! I definitely underestimated you Chiyo!" Supreme Kai said.
"I told you, Supreme Kai, my sister is something special, this whole day could have been much worse if not for her," Gohan said with a crazy amount of pride flowing through our bond. I blushed at his praise and was surprised when my dad grabbed me in a hug and laughed as we flew.
"Gohan is right, you are amazing, Chiyo!" Goku said as he carried me a bit. We laughed as we spiraled around the group on our way back.
"Haha, we didn't even let the bad guys monologue!" Krillin said and I had a good laugh at that.
Landing at a huge party with smiles on our faces was a shock to the crowd and it looked like Mr. Satan was being carted off the arena just in time for 18 to be declared the winner. The crowd was shocked at the turn of events.
Kibito walked up to the announcer and said that he was done fighting and that Gohan was the winner. The announcer in turn did what he did best, "Alright folks! Looks like all of our fighters are back! We have a few changes, Gohan advances as Kibito has forfeited. Up next is Goku versus Vegeta!" That made everyone smile or sit back with nervousness. The main match of the tournament was about to happen.
"Finally, I have been waiting for this moment for years. It is time I beat you Kakarot," Vegeta said with a vicious smile.
"Haha, bring it on Vegeta!" Goku replied.
"Well, we have a huge match-up here today folks! The Fathers of our junior championship match are about to meet head-to-head! Goku the father of Goten and Vegeta the father of Trunks! This will be an AMAZING MATCH!" The Announcer said.
"Fighters! Get ready, and...FIGHT!"
They met in the ring not rising more than 5 to 10 feet from the ground, clashing in base form faster than any non-ki user could see. A whirlwind of precise attacks and immutable defenses collided with unparalleled force.
The engagement was almost non-stop for nearly 5 minutes with no words spoken by anyone in the stadium. The power of the blows caused blasts of wind that traveled through the stands in waves, the sunny day now filled with winds and pressure waves.
This was one of the most intense fights I have ever seen and they were only escalating. I wouldn't say this fight is brutal, as they weren't trying to end it fast but to prove that the other is the better fighter with overwhelming force and ability. They are taking blows and delivering more in exchange without slowing. The fight didn't relent and only increased their fighting pace as their base power rose in tandem.
They started to rise, the force of their blows enough to push them into the air. When they were well above the stadium they parted and started to power up.
"I figured it wouldn't be long until they went all out," I said.
"Yeah, it was probably too much to ask to stay in base forms," Gohan said with a shake of his head.
Vegeta and my dad both powered up to base Super Saiyan and immediately clashed again. The point of impact was the center point of two after images every time they connected. Opening my Ki sense to the fight enabled me to see more of what was happening.
When you find a good spot to allow your power to stabilize after a transformation or power-up, it is a good indication of power level, Ki control, and comfort in the state. Noticing that Goku's Super Saiyan power level was maybe 5-10% higher than Vegeta's wasn't a direct indicator of the outcome of the fight.
But as they stayed at these levels and exchanged surges of Ki in each strike, the power difference started to show. 15 minutes passed, the halfway point of the match and Vegeta took a loss on 5 engagements as he blasted backward to get some room.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" Vegeta roared and smashed through the barrier into the Ascended Saiyan state, or Super Saiyan 2.
"Hah, not bad Vegeta, looks pretty stable and your energy is higher than ever!" Goku said.
"Tsch, Shut it Kakarot! Let's see your true power as an Ascended Saiyan! The fight is far from over!" Vegeta roared.
My dad just smirked and began to power up, when he stabilized his transformation, the gap between their powers was now widely visible, Vegeta wouldn't let something like that stop him.
He began to fluctuate his Ki levels more dramatically, allowing for quicker strikes, while Goku just dodged or blocked. Vegeta grew frustrated and turned the engagement around further as he fully powered up, something that was less stable as a transformation, but was him pushing himself to the maximum height he could reach.
He struck my dad in the ribs with a kick, before doubling down and roundhousing the other way. Vegeta's boot swiped across Goku's face and sent him flying down. It would have been a ring out but he was able to Instant Transmission just behind Vegeta.
Vegeta dodged my dad's stunning strike but it gave him the much-needed distance to reorient himself in the fight. Vegeta snarled and redoubled his will to damage his opponent. It worked as he stuck Goku's thigh, stomach, then neck as he was sent flying backward again.
The fight hit the 25-minute mark, with just 5 minutes left. Goku stepped back and stared hard at Vegeta, "Alright then, it is time I stop holding back."
Vegeta just looked surprised, then Goku began to power up more. Goku reached into those depths of power with a scream and his hair grew, brow hardened, and eyebrows disappeared. The blue electricity that constantly sparked around the Ascended State grew more aggressive as both his aura and hair grew to new heights.
"What is this!? Another transformation!?" Vegeta asked with fury.
"This is Super Saiyan 3," Goku was not smiling, this form took aggression and rage just like my Legendary Super Saiyan form did and turned it into power.
Goku didn't speak anymore just disappeared and slammed into Vegeta with a devastating gut punch. Vegeta reeled as blood came flying out of his mouth and he tried to respond only to be impacted with a double-fisted smash to the back. Vegeta slammed into the ring at the stadium at an angle, the stone of the ring immediately pulverized and Vegeta was in the dirt outside the ring.
Vegeta was on his feet in a second, but only stopped when he heard the announcer, "WHAAT A FIGHT FOLKS! It appears Contestant Vegeta has been knocked out of the ring! OH wow, GOKU ADVANCES!"
Goku landed on the ring and dropped his form, "Dang Vegeta, that was a great fight! But it looks like I took the cake on that time!"
"Tsch, a new form, of course, you found a new form...don't think this means I am giving up, you won't stand a chance next time!" Vegeta said, while in his mind he couldn't believe Kakarat had found another transformation.
"Vegeta, if you ever did stop training then who would I need to beat?" Goku asked.
Vegeta scoffed and grunted.
He walked away, no doubt to go train.
As far as the tournament went, Yamu was supposed to be up next against Killa, but Yamu was currently unconscious recovering from the Majin Curse. So Killa advanced and it was time for me to get a little revenge of my own.
I began to walk out to the ring and sure enough the creep that touched my tail was walking too close to me. He didn't touch me yet, but I was waiting for it. The second he did, I would remove that offending object...with no hesitations.
"So, are you nervous to be fighting me? I think you should just give up and let me take you out on a date, I think you will looove what Jewel has to offer," Jewel said in the third person.
"I am going to break you," Was my only response as I started to get angry.
He began to ramble and probably threw some more pickup lines, but I just ignored it. It was time to put this fool in his place.
"Oh god, get a Senzu bean ready, this isn't going to be good," Gohan said.
"Wow, do you really think he's that strong?" Goku asked getting the wrong idea.
"Nope, but he touched Chiyo's tail...and she is not happy about it. I can feel her anger, we just have to make sure he survives," Gohan said. "How bad is this going to be Gohan?" Krillin asked.
Gohan just looked at him and shook his head, "Bad." Krillin winced.
The Announcer started, "We have Son Chiyo, Goku's Daughter! and Jewel The..Martial Artist! BEGIN!"
The second the word, Begin rang through the stadium...Chiyo moved...and the match ended.
There was a staccato of blasts and Jewel was stuck in the wall. Chiyo was standing in the ring still as she smirked at the fool who dared to touch her tail.
"Whoa, remind me not to get on her bad side!" Goku said.
"Yeah, no kidding...Chiyo doesn't mess around," Krillin said while wincing.
In the stands where the rest of the Z-Fighters and their families watched the matches, Yamcha was stunned by this beautiful young Saiyan, that seemed to resemble a young Chichi.
"So Chichi, Chiyo is your daughter, right?" Yamcha said, having apparently missed the announcement of her family name.
At that point, it was like death was looking at him. He could feel the gaze and murderous intent of two very angry women as Bulma and Chichi looked at him with weaponized glares.
He held his hands up, "I didn't mean it like that! I am just surprised by how old she is since she wasn't around when Gohan fought Cell." He winced as he finally looked away from their gazes.
Chichi was ready to murder him with her eyes, as in, 'Did you just talk about my daughter, and if you did I will actually kill you!' type of look.
But what was more terrifying was Bulma's look of disgust, she stared at the man as if he had just kicked a puppy.
"I- 'm sorry?" Yamcha said before flying away as fast as he could.
The next match was a classic match-up between Piccolo and Krillin.
Piccolo had become a master of ki manipulation through extensive meditation and combat training. He wasn't a Saiyan relying on the Zenkai boost through fighting to get stronger, but Namekians have their own ways of gaining strength. Piccolo had also been training continuously for years and that showed, while Krillin hadn't stopped training...he definitely hadn't gained strength either.
Krillin came at Piccolo with rusty moves and Piccolo just held fast against the barrage. It was to the point that Piccolo was able to smack away one of Krillin's signature Destructo Discs and a Solar Flare was just ignored as Piccolo's Ki senses were top-tier.
The Namekian extended his left arm into the path that Krillin was trying to take to flank Piccolo. He was shocked as a green hand palmed his face and released a small Ki blast like an explosive punch to the face.
Krillin hit the stage that had been repaired by the Kai's and once again spread cracks all over it. Piccolo was flying towards Krillins resting spot in hopes of smashing him hard enough to end the fight.
Krillin rolled out of the way and sent a small blast of Ki which was ignored in full. Piccolo flew at Krillin as if his movement didn't even come to a stop where his knee left a hole in the ground. His right foot came around as his heel connected to Krillins cheek.
He flew out of the stadium and into the far wall, unconscious.
I was just shaking my head with a hopeless smile as my brother walked to the ring with Videl. He knows he's way stronger than her, but that doesn't stop him from being scared of her temper. It was adorable and now that Videl realized what he has done for this world already it seems like she knows that she can't compete with him.
That didn't stop her from not only threatening Gohan that she was going to kick his ass, but she was not about to back down.
My brother and his future wife finally lined up and I ignored Krillin trying to make a bet about Gohan losing. I know my brother and he will only lose if Videl can trick him into a ring out of sorts. That would only happen if Gohan wants it to.
They have often sparred but the thing about my brother is that he won't push Videl to get stronger with his own strength, only match her power level and let her tire herself out. He knows how hard he can go against her because of that and I had given him instructions before the tournament on how to handle this. The plan I had was a means to ensure that he respected her during the fight, but also enabled him to win and not make either of them look like fools.
It was simple really. He needs to win to show her his strength yet defeating her too brutally, swiftly, or humiliating her would all result in her despising him. So he needs to do exactly what he does in her training, only trading blows at equal strength to hers, yet not going for debilitating strikes, but slowly increasing his power until she couldn't keep up.
Gohan is smart and he obviously doesn't want to injure Videl, regardless of whether or not he knows they will be together. As long as he pushes her to newer heights in this fight, she will accept the outcome of the battle.
The second the announcer started the fight Videl sprinted at Gohan to engage with one of her classic high kicks. He just brushed it off and returned the favor. Videl's white-ki aura increased to become visible as blows were traded and they fell into an easy rhythm for a minute. Gohan matched her power level and began to increase the pressure slowly, but enough for her to double down her efforts.
He had the advantage of experience though and as they rose into the air it was clear who was superior. I had just enough time to look over and see Hercule staring at his daughter with his mouth open in shock as she floated above the stage. I smirked and looked back at the fight. They had gone from longer close-range engagements to quicker bursts of more intense combat as battle ramped up in ferocity.
Hercule found his tongue as he shouted in outrage about how Videl was flying with the same sort of tricks the rest of us use. I snorted slightly and watched as Videl was pushed beyond what she was normally used to. Gohan landed some strikes that staggered her and eventually they faced off again as Videl tried to catch her breath.
Gohan smirked as he reignited the fight and this time the battle was over fairly quickly as he launched her downwards with a combination of pressure points and knock backs.
Videl hit the grass lightly with a hiss of pain. She kept her feet though.
"Gohan wins!"
Videl looked up at him with a gruff look on her face when he didn't let down on his stance. He did hold his hand out to her though.
Her face became easier with a snort of frustration, "Not bad at all Gohan. You really are a great fighter." She then smiled and took his hand.
"Now that is some great sportsmanship!" The announcer said.
"Hehehehe, I guess Gohan definitely has a new girlfriend!" Krillin said while cracking up. Most of the group laughed at that, even me and my dad.
I had a quick fight with Killa who was probably pretty strong for a human, though he wouldn't stand a chance against Krillin. I outed him without a word and barely a thought. The real fight I was interested in was 18 vs my dad. It could go either way as I know 18 wants money and while my dad is tired from his Vegeta fight, he's not one to back down either.
I hope my dad wins as I want to fight him, so I was rooting for him to win. 18 is a fantastic fighter, though she hasn't really been training. She pretty much just takes care of Marron and hangs out with Bulma and my Mom so I don't think she can easily win.
I flew back to the fighters' room as my dad and 18 were getting ready to walk into the ring.
"Alright, Dad. You better win 'cause I want to fight you next!"
He just smiled his huge Goku smile, "I'll do my best Chiyo!"
He headed out followed by 18 who looked at me with an eyebrow raised. I just smirked, "Good luck!"
She just scoffed like the queen she was and walked off. I couldn't help but admire the poise.
The fight started with a tiny bit of back-and-forth trading words before blows. The duo engaged in a vicious spar but it was clear who lived to fight here. Goku lives in the fight, and it was plain to see that he was already in his element here.
Another factor here is that while 18 has infinite energy it can be overpowered. If she has an output of let's say 9 million units of energy over any period, she will forever be able to produce that much energy, but it will never be a higher amount than that level at once.
I actually talked with Bulma about the androids and she was already ahead of me. The androids used some crazy form of energy reactor that endlessly worked, but it also made them much stronger than normal.
Neither Bulma nor her father has been able to recreate the production method Dr. Gero used but with Babidi's ship, I was hoping to understand how to draw ki from people and use it to power things. It would be our own version of power that could empower both people and maybe machines one day.
As I was thinking about the potential of Ki as a power source a large explosion drew my attention. Unsure of what happened, I watched as my dad flew up into the air as if blasted by a cannon.
18's fist that had been empowered with her energy and they cleared the top of the stadium and went a few hundred feet past that into the air.
I joined the rest of the crowd in raising my eyes to the sky and 18 tried to continue the fight while Goku gathered his senses. They engaged again while in the air with explosive contact, my dad regaining his bearings and responding in kind.
They fought well for a while until 18 got past Goku's defense again and stunned him long enough to launch him back into the ring. She flew down at speed only to find a fist meet her as my dad had released a bit of ki when he hit the stage to break her eye line of him. He then used the settling dust in conjunction with his Ki senses to launch a devastating attack back at 18.
It connected with her chin at 40 feet in the air and she was knocked toward the stands. I was moving as fast as I could to catch her only to be beaten by Krillin as he caught her before she hit the stands head first.
The announcer signaled Goku's win via knockout and I met Krillin on the grass as he walked back into the medical rooms with 18 in his arms. I got ready to heal 18 while I threw my dad a thumbs up.
I just missed the start of Gohan vs Piccolo. I was excited about this and the emotions I felt from Gohan were tense yet excited. He had recently picked up his training again and I know for a fact he has a higher power level than Piccolo...if only that was everything that it took to fight.
As is standard with a Gohan/Piccolo fight, Gohan overestimated his base strength and assumed he would be strong enough to overcome Piccolo's more precise and well-practiced style. In other words, Gohan was taking a beating.
The fight went on for almost 5 minutes like this until Piccolo landed a powerful blow to his cheek. Gohan snarled in anger and just a bit of his hidden potential seemed to leak out as golden energy sparked around him. It looked like he rode the exact line before turning super and was struggling to find a comfortable power level.
A swift series of vicious attacks left both fighters ragged and facing off with each other. The fight hadn't left the ground and Piccolo sneered at Gohan.
"Heh, even with your lack of training you can still keep up with me. You are lucky you're a Saiyan," Piccolo said with amused frustration.
Gohan smirked, "I haven't been slacking as much as you seem to think!" And it was true, since I came into his life he has been training harder and harder. Since Videl showed up, he only became more serious about his training.
He disappeared with a flash of displaced air and smashed into Piccolo's defenses. They held strong as the senior fighter parried Gohans attacks. Then with a Krav Maga style of fighting Gohan gave up on trying to get past them and instead tried to break them. He snapped Piccolo's left arm with a direct punch and came across Piccolo's left knee and it seemed like Piccolo was ready to collapse.
Gohan didn't stop and took Piccolo's counterpunch to his jaw with a grimace. The opening came as expected and he thrust his foot forward to release a Ki-empowered heel kick to Piccolo's chest.
Piccolo was launched into the air but Gohan didn't stop the chase as he slammed Piccolo onto the ground with both feet on his chest. The crowd reacted with the force of the blow and the small crater where Piccolo was trying to get his breath back was the ending place of the fight.
I saw Piccolo talking to Gohan as he helped his old instructor up again. Gohan felt pride and I also sent him love and excitement along with my own sisterly pride for my twin.
I was going to offer to heal Piccolo but he shook his head at me when I walked toward him, "You have your own fight kid. Save the energy."
I snorted, "Will do. Good fight you two."
"Well Chiyo, are you ready to fight?" Goku asked me with the trademark smile he wore.
This was like something out of a dream for me, seeing Goku standing next to me and asking about fighting. It was something I had always pictured, in both my last life and this one and to see him now in the ultra-high definition of real life is amazing. I smiled back at him.
"I can't wait, dad."
We walked out together and up the steps onto the barely standing ring. It had plenty of cracks and dents in it at this point but it was the second to last match so it will be just fine.
It was yet another surreal moment as I walked to one side and took the stance my mother had taught me, left leg forward with my left arm ready to parry and my right hand already in a fist. Goku immediately recognized it and smiled.
"Just like your mother! Did she teach you how to fight?" Goku asked, his curiosity now fully peaked.
"She did, though I have my own style derived from it," I said with a smile.
Goku nodded.
"Fighters ready? Begin!"
I had been building ki slowly for the last half hour and had been ready to lay a field of after images with a combination of the multiform technique. As soon as it started I dropped the first After-image and fully raised my ki to my highest base-form power level.
While doing that I split my ki three ways as my two clones from multiform popped out. As each one rushed my dad they disappeared.
When all three were gone I released a huge ki blast from above my dad that smashed him into the ring and blew it apart. I felt his ki waiver in pain as he took the hit, but when I followed up he had already moved. I bounced up and sent a flying kick at his head and he only had time to yelp before he dodged.
I chopped with an offhand Ki blast, hoping to slice at him as I flew past with my missed kick. I flew upwards at that point feeling for his location after he left my eye line. I usually kept track of people really well, but my dad's ki just vanished as if he was masking it. It happened the second he was out of my vision.
The ring was in pieces even more so than before and I landed on the larger bit while focusing a projection of my Ki to hopefully slow down any incoming attack.
I heard the familiar sound of someone using Instant Transmission behind me and I instantly fired a low-powered Ki blast right at the sound.
"AH!" Goku said as he backed up.
I didn't let him talk to me, even though I know that is supposed to happen in the lull of the fight, but I held my momentum and charged at him again.
We were maybe 5 feet off the ground as I engaged him in my own style of floating combat. It involved afterimages and Ki projection that all worked to overwhelm defenses. I would occasionally launch a burst of ki to supplement my attacks or increase my bursting speed.
It was essentially a tidal wave of everything I could throw at my battle-maniac dad. He landed a solid hit to my temple that made me see stars.
I blocked one with my upper arm and then he hit me in the gut so hard I took a knee. He flew back and landed with a smile on his face.
"Chiyo, you are terrifying to fight against, like a relentless wave of attacks! And what was that move at the start?!" Goku asked excitedly.
I caught my breath and took my fighting stance, "I will tell you when you are not my opponent."
"Alright, what the hell was that move?" Vegeta asked no one as Chiyo started the fight with some kind of multiform afterimage technique.
"Yeah, I have never seen anything like that, like ghosts of her just all attacked Goku at once," Krillin said.
"Every attack she threw there hit," 18 said as the blast wave from Chiyo's Ki was dispersed.
"Chiyo is the hardest opponent to fight out of all of us. It is like she changes to a different person when the fight starts."
"What do you mean Gohan?" Krillin said.
"Well, you might not know this, but Chiyo and I share an empathetic twin bond. I can feel her emotions and when we fight they change completely," Gohan explained.
"So she puts her mind in the right spot when the time is right? That is how it is supposed to be," Vegeta scoffed.
"I mean when it comes to fighting, if you are against her, she changes not only her mind but how she thinks too."
Piccolo who was intrigued by the mysterious sibling of his old student, listened intently while watching the fight. She knew things that shouldn't be known and fought in unheard-of ways. She had no hesitation whatsoever, and engaged at full force from the start, "She views anyone she is fighting as an enemy and doesn't hesitate to destroy them."
"Exactly, whenever we spar there is no easy mode or downtime. It is an all-out fight until she stops or the person she is fighting quits," Gohan said.
"Does that work in your favor when fighting her, since you can feel her emotions?" 18 asked.
"Oh no," Gohan said, as a thousand-yard stare crossed his eyes. "No, if she wanted I would never beat her in a fight, our emotional bond would be easy to trick me."
Everyone stopped and looked at Gohan and he just smiled. Videl of all people was the next to speak up, "How is that possible Gohan, aren't you stronger and more experienced than her?"
Gohan laughed sheepishly, "I say my sister is special because she is. After the first time, I fought her none of my moves worked on her again. I couldn't understand it. I asked if she was using her seer powers against me and she only said that each of my moves has emotions and ki movements, she just needed to feel it and see it once to know it."
"What are you saying?" Piccolo asked.
"It's hard to explain, but I gather that once she feels a memory with emotions in it, she has it memorized. I don't even know if she realized she is doing it but she can read my emotions too easily," Gohan explained.
Videl spoke up, "But...why doesn't it seem like that when you spar? It seems like you two are even when I have been watching."
Gohan looked sheepish and rubbed the back of his head. "Uhh, well let's just say that we practice fighting mentally when you are watching more than physically."
The Z-fighters were torn between watching the battle with Chiyo and Goku and listening to Gohan talk about the insane twin sister he had.
"Hmmm, look I get that this doesn't make sense, but we are twins and we can fight as one. You know what I mean, right 18?"
"I have a twin, yes, but it has never been anything like what you described," 18 said swiftly.
"Uhh, well that's odd, but well, it doesn't matter when she beats dad we will show you."
Vegeta scoffed, "What makes you think she is going to beat Kakarot? One lucky move isn't a win, there is still a lot of time left."
Gohan, who normally would back down from the angry Vegeta had changed with the confident Chiyo in his life.
She had taught him to be respectful to Saiyans is to be harsh but straightforward. He had to be challenging and steadfast for a Saiyan, especially Vegeta, to respond. Gohan snorted back at Vegeta, doing the best he could to seem indifferent, "My dad might be a battle maniac, but Chiyo is ruthless and calculating, I would be surprised if she lost to my dad here."
Vegeta, who had been watching the fight with his ki sense only finally opened his eyes and turned to look at Gohan, "You think she can beat Kakarat?"
Gohan nodded, "It's strange, but her emotions right now are relaxed and confident." Gohand shrugged, "She has felt in charge of this fight from the start."
Goku saw Chiyo freeze up as she was about to punch at him and Goku had the great idea to test if her tail had been trained to ignore pain. He zipped behind her and grabbed her soft tail only to hear a strange yelp before the earth started to shake.
"Oh no...he grabbed her tail. Quick, do we have any senzu beans?" Gohan asked with worry as his sister's emotions through the bond started to be filled with horror and then rage.
A flash of green light and a rapid staccato of nearly 15 loud blasts happened in less than a second before a part of the remaining grass field between the stage and the stands was destroyed as Goku's body hit the ground.
The Z-fighters stood in shock as Chiyo let the transformation drop with an embarrassed look on her face.
"Wow, Chiyo! I guess I shouldn't touch your tail huh?" Goku said with a smile.
"Tsh! You shouldn't touch someone's tail without their consent!" I was frustrated but I was also happy that I won. I helped my dad stand and gave him a hug as the stadium began to cheer.
"Haha, you really are a great fighter Chiyo!" My dad said as I hid my embarrassment in his chest. He scooped me up and we flew over to the athletes' room which was now empty aside from our group of fighters.
Krillin spoke up, "Not bad Chiyo, now it's you and Gohan. Are you both ready to give us a show?" He said the last with a smirk. We were both tired and it was starting to show.
Looking over to my twin he just had a small smile on his face, ready to go regardless as he spoke up, "We'll be fine I think."
"Yeah, it will be the best fight yet," We had a small break but it would go by quickly, so until then Gohan and I just stayed loose and ready to fight.
It was then that Shin, the Supreme Kai walked up, "So Bulma has invited us to her place for some sort of party. I have to say Chiyo I had expected today to go a lot differently. I am still curious as to what you have planned next. Will you tell us this evening?"
I chuckled lightly, "Don't worry yourself, Supreme Kai. We have the means to accomplish all of our goals."
Krillin elbowed Piccolo, "That's not ominous at all." I looked at him with a cold evil eye stare.
He audibly gulped.
I found myself staring down my twin in the ring, his stance was perfect as usual. He really is intimidating when he wants to be. Gohan had no amusement on his face anymore, just sheer determination to beat me. I didn't do my best to hide my excitement through our bond and I know he could feel it even if he was holding it back.
We had three seconds of the announcer to count down before we could move but it felt like the battle had started as both of our Ki began to circulate around us. Prodding each other's defenses and trying to anticipate where we would both strike first.
By the time the announcer said begin both of us had locked in our strategies and were already enacting them. It was a vicious right punch that met Gohan's fist. He and I opened with the same move and the barrage after that was us perfectly mirroring the attacks.
We didn't slow down and instead turned up the pace as our blows would match each other in perfect harmony. Gohan and I closed our eyes as we fell into the connection between us. The engagement in the physical was only matched by the engagement in our minds as we connected. The fight escalated until both of us went into Super Saiyan simultaneously.
Gohan's version of Super Saiyan was much more practiced and better controlled yet we stayed in perfect harmony for nearly 10 minutes. Golden auras were sending light and shockwaves as a perfectly in-sync dance of destruction formed between us siblings.
Every time I went to attack the bond would allow him to counter with the same ability. I felt Gohan powering something up and I matched it, thinking he was going to engage in a ki blast or something along those lines.
Instead, he blasted the poor ring that had sustained so much damage. He then flipped into the air and stared at me.
"Stop playing Chiyo, I want you to go all out and I need to learn to withstand it!"
I just raised an eyebrow at him as I caught my breath. I was surprised that he wanted me to push harder than just matching his first level of Super Saiyan.
"Look, I know that if you wanted you can use the bond to defeat me easily, so I want to try to combat that. Let's go for 'five-fives' before you knock me out, that's all I ask," Gohan offered.
"Gohan, this isn't a practice session," I said awkwardly.
"But we are trying to get stronger," He argued.
I snarled, "Fine then."
I moved as fast as I could while dropping an After Image clone behind me. My brother blocks in patterns and I can easily exploit that by sending my intentions to attack him where he would normally block, but then use my ki cloaking and after images to strike where he wasn't protected.
I hit him four times in the gut, the kidney, and the back twice. It dropped him to the ground.
"One," I said.
He nodded and powered up then stood, "AGAIN!" He called.
I disappeared and used another variation, scoring three strikes and a ki blast that sent him tumbling into a crater on the stage from another fight, "Two."
"Stop feeling bad for me Chiyo! It is so frustrating when I am trying to get stronger!"
"Wha-" I said surprised.
Gohan interrupted by smashing the ground, "I know you are holding back cause you hate hurting me. But I need you to stop. I love you sister, but this is the only way I can get stronger. You said it yourself, my potential is locked because I haven't been forced to use it!"
I was still shocked but gathered myself and nodded. He charged me. I used my multiform and afterimage technique to hit him 9 times from three clones.
The three clones disappeared as I revealed myself to be off to the side where the last hits came from.
He stood again and flew up at me. I dodged his strike and countered with a slicing ki strike across his back as I flipped forward. I followed up with 4 hits to other softer spots. Each time I was sending word that I was going to be hitting other spots but the strikes would land elsewhere. Until my last strike which was coming in for his left thigh.
Gohan blocked and countered with a solid punch that hit my shoulder knocking me back a step. He continued but I launched back at him with an opposing ki blast which struck the tiled ring as more of it blew up. I was impressed, he went against all of his instincts to break past my empathetic connection to him.
But it was already too late for him at that point.
Gohan hadn't been seriously pushed since the Cell Games, not in sparring with Vegeta, the match with Piccolo, or the many days of training with Chiyo.
But he felt it, he knew that when his sister was pushed that she could do incredible things. Her Legendary Saiyan form was terrifying in how quickly it seemed to pass his regular Super Saiyan power level. Like, none of the results from his fights had mattered to a certain power level.
Gohan forced Chiyo to one of their "Five-Fives" as they had taken to calling the game. It was something they played in training when one would have to win the best out of 5 quick-sparing bouts. This was continued until one person had 5 wins.
Their matches had increased in intensity as the tournament drew closer and Chichi had to start interrupting them. Gohan using this as a means to challenge Chiyo was a statement to her that he wanted to be pushed with her using all her might against him.
The fourth bout resulted in an equal exchange, no winner was declared, then Gohan felt something release inside him.
"UUUAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Gohan's hidden potential had blasted forth and his Ascended Saiyan state went higher than it had ever been. His power seemed to push every aura in the stadium and the clouds in the sky as it reached upwards. He knew he was about to win.
Gohan looked at his sister and was about to attack at full power until he saw her smirk. A lot of thoughts went through his mind at that moment, and the collection of them resulted in Gohan hesitating.
"SON CHIYO WINS BY RING OUT!" The announcer yelled, Gohan looked down to see himself standing on mostly dirt.
None of the Z-fighters realized it but a backup camera crew had finally made it to the stadium before the final championship fight. Talk of the supernatural fighters had spread through the various news agencies.
While almost the tournament was missed, the video of the youngest Prince and Princess of the Fire Kingdom fighting with unseen abilities since the Cell Games would spread like wildfire all over the world. The quiet times offered by the smoke screen Hercule Satan provided with his lies would soon be blown away.
