Chapter 5 - Girls, Swords, and Saiyan Rituals
The party was in full swing a few hours after the tournament and I know for a fact things had changed. Videl and Mr. Satan had walked up to me at the end of the tournament and handed me a briefcase with 10 million Zeni. I put the case in a capsule and tried to act like I wasn't completely shocked about becoming a millionaire.
The end of the tournament involved reporters trying to interview me without cameras and an audience that was as tired as the fighters after so many world-shattering performances. Our whole group left for Capsule Corp where Bulma had already set up the party for all of us fighters and family.
Bulma and I were talking in private and I had just finished a lengthy explanation about my future goals. Now that it had been revealed that I was a seer, people were treating my word with more weight.
I used that to enact the next step of my plan with Bulma's help.
"So let me get this straight, you want a job working to understand this Ki-based technology to eventually create your own spaceship?" Bulma asked.
"Among other things, yes," I said defensively, trying not to minimalize my goals.
Bulma smirked then asked, "Alright, I know you are smart enough to work for me but do you just want to be an inventor or do you also want other work?"
"We can figure that out another time but I would prefer to work more in the 'R and D' type of situation instead of some random busy work. I can also help interrogate Babidi's men if you need someone who can read minds, though not as well as my dad. We can get them to teach us how their technology works though!" I said with a smile.
Bulma snorted, "Honey, I already know how their technology works. I just didn't know how they stored Ki. Now that we have that little guy," She pointed to the Ki-stealing device that was meant to store Gohan's energy, "And with the ship that you said has multiple floors with Ki-gathering arrays?"
I nodded, "It has to be something like that, they are circular discs that he can cast spells through, including teleportation, and it seems to gather any excess expelled during a fight. I figured the ship must run on it."
"No, the ship has its own power source that we have already seen a more primative version of in other ships that we have broken down before. The engines that we can create for a ship about that big would be much more efficient than the ones on this wizard ship, and more powerful honestly. But back to the topic at hand. Why do you want to work for me?" Bulma asked.
"I just know I can push the technology of this planet forward and also make an amazing ship that I can travel the stars with one day. If it's Ki-powered then all the better," I explained. "I have many goals, but this is just a step on the path, and if one of my dad's oldest and smartest friends can't help, then who can?"
"Okay, don't have to butter me up so much," She nodded with a smile before she inspected me for a minute, "So you really are a seer huh?"
"There are many dangers to come Bulma...ones that can wipe us all out with just a thought, Majin Buu is still one of those dangers," I explained while dodging the question. I am sure she noticed but she didn't call me on it.
She looked at me intensely and nodded with determination, "Well, let's go enjoy the party for today but I am definitely for you and I working together. Do you still have plans to fight this Majin Buu guy?"
I nodded again, "We need to unlock more forms before we do, but absolutely."
"Forms huh? More hairstyles than ever I guess?" She laughed at that and I returned the smile. "Come on, let's go talk to those crazy people out there."
"Alright, everyone! Thank you for coming to the World Martial Arts Tournament's post-fighting dinner and buffet!" Bulma said. Gathering the attention of the huge group of Z-Fighters, family, and friends.
"I just wanted to say that there is more food where that came from, including dessert, so please eat up. Also, our beautiful and powerful Champion has some things to say!" Bulma said, handing the attention over to me.
I tried not to think that I was about to speak to the most powerful people in our universe and a couple God's that look over it, "Hi! Uh, well I am Chiyo and I have Majin Buu here in this Capsule," Everyone flinched at that, I guess that wasn't the best intro. "I know for a fact that to unlock it requires one of us to pour all of our energy into it to wake him. I also know that before we can fight him, we need to power up."
Vegeta scoffed.
"I have some stuff to say that will be hard to hear but necessary all the same," I put my passion into that statement and hoped gravity of my words reached everyone.
"We are not strong enough as we are right now to beat Majin Buu, much less any of the threats to come," I let the words hang in the air, "But that doesn't mean we can't get stronger. First, we need to go to the Kais' planet and acquire the Z-sword," The two Kais both flinched at that.
"How do you know of that!?" Kabito said in shocked outrage.
"Look it isn't what you think it is. It is more like a prison than a sword. There is an old Kai in there that has the ability we need," I explained.
"That is impossible Chiyo! It has been there for thousands of years!" Shin said.
"Yeah, I know who did it too, his name is Lord Beerus the Destroyer," I even got Vegeta to flinch at that one.
"When he wakes up in a few years he will come here after doing a merry stroll of destruction and we have to be strong enough to impress him," I said. "Or he will destroy the planet and all of us on it. He was the one who imprisoned the Old Kai in the blade and we must release him so that he may unlock Gohan's potential. That is just to start," I said, while hiding my plans for Lord Beerus, we just had to make a deal with him that involves food and enough power to excite him.
"Okay...say this is true, what does that even involve? These are crazy concepts here Chiyo," Shin said while trying to keep it together.
"What we need is within the Kais' power to do so, and I am sure that he will do it once in compensation for releasing him from the blade," I explained.
"Alright, what is next on the list then?" Bulma asked, trying to keep pace with the bombs I was dropping.
"Well, next would be something I have to do, but if it works, I might be able to unlock Super Saiyan 4," that shut everyone up, and I wasn't sure if it would work here since I couldn't be entirely sure if Dragon Ball Super or Dragon Ball GT was fully going to be cannon, this test would hopefully tell us.
"WHAT!? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SAYING?!" Vegeta yelled as he paced over to me.
"Well, it might NOT be a thing, but I have to attempt it either way, and it has to do with going Super while in the Oozaru transformation, potentially increasing the power of a Super Saiyan with the power of an Oozaru," I explained to the deathly silence of the room.
"Wow! I didn't even think of going Super in the Oozaru form!" Goku said, not realizing he hadn't had the tail since acquiring Super Saiyan. "It will be hard to control I bet Chiyo! Be careful!"
"I should be able to condense the Oozaru into a form that is less large and violent, yet still has many of the benefits," I explained. "And there is more as well Vegeta."
He actually growled at me as everyone listened in silence, "SPEAK IT."
"There is another form that all of us can hopefully access, or rather, a higher form. But it will require you to accept a few things, I don't want to talk about it here-"
"Don't try to change the subject brat! What is this higher form!?"
"Well, it's called Super Saiyan Red, and it uses Divine Ki," The silence was potent once again. The kai's looked at me like I was crazy, "We all have to work together for just one of us to access it, but it also requires more than just the will to work together."
"You keep talking in circles, what are the requirements?" Vegeta said.
"5 Saiyans with righteous hearts must join hands and instill their inner light into another, with his friend's energy flowing through him, this Saiyan shall then take the form of a god," I said with the cadence of a chant.
I was getting used to these wide-eyed looks at this point so I just kept going, "For any of us to achieve the power we need, we have to push forward with righteous hearts and good intentions. Our future, including our world, family, and friends, all depend on the Saiyans here to survive."
The silence just meant I had more room to speak, "With that said, I move on to the next part. Supreme Kai, you must also bring my father back to life, this universe depends on it."
His face darkened, "That is a dangerous thing, it can result in the death of a Kai."
"Isn't the danger lessened if more Kai's are involved?" I asked.
"I...yeah I guess so, but it is still dangerous to do!" Shin asked as Kibito looked horrified.
"That will be your part in what must be done to defeat Majin Buu," I said, layering on the peer pressure a bit. "I know that the Kai's have sacrificed much against him, but this is what the price to continue forward is."
I felt Gohan's support through our bond, him knowing how important this talk with the Super Kai was. Manipulating a god to ensure that we can get strong enough to survive this crazy universe is worth it.
Shin looked thoughtful for a minute before turning towards Kibito, "I think she is right, it could be less dangerous if we both do it together."
"No," Kibito said. I raised an eyebrow at that as Kibito seemed to gather his resolve.
"I will do it. There can be problems if the source isn't from a single place."
"Kibito! We can do this together!" Shin said with worry.
Kibito smiled grimly at Shin, "I am sure Supreme Kai, Chiyo here has proven much of what would have been my plans wrong. If we had continued... well I hate to think of how bad things could have gone," Kibito said in his stern voice, he looked down at the grown thinking of Chiyo's description of his death. He set his jaw and looked up, confirming his resolve. His eyes went to mine and he nodded once, "This will be MY contribution to the defeat of Majin Buu."
He then just looked at Goku and a thin line of cobalt glowing light left Kibito's chest as he folded forward to the ground. The beam struck my dad's chest and the halo above him shattered.
"Whoa! I...I am alive again!" Goku said with surprise on his face as he looked up at where his halo should be.
"Hah, you better use it well Goku," Kibito said as he stood, now with his own halo above his head.
Shin had tears in his eyes as he ran up and hugged Kibito, "Damn! I am sorry Kibito."
"I chose this, it is alright."
Goku was staring at his hands in shock, "Kibito... thank you." His voice was sincere and kind.
I let this moment burn into my mind. Kibito had willingly given up his life for my plans. A god-in-training had given his life on my words, to bring my father back to life.
I let that thought swirl for a while. There will always be consequences for any actions. I had just cost a Kai his life with my actions, and I know it had to be done.
Kibito and I met eyes, both of us with hard expressions, he walked up to me with as much of a smile as his stern face would allow.
Kibito towered over me as he held out his hand, "I trust you Chiyo, but I won't lie that a lot is on your shoulders."
I shook Kibitos hand, as I did my best to hold my voice from breaking, "I know, I will do my best."
The moment lingered and we stepped back, I looked around the room to see contemplative faces and thoughtful glances.
Shin spoke up, "What would be next then Chiyo?"
I smiled and turned to my dad, "Dad, you need to teach us Instant Transmission."
"Who is us?" Goku said with skepticism.
"Anyone who can learn it," I said.
Goku looked unsure, "I won't lie Chiyo, that ability is really hard to learn. It took me a long time to figure it out."
"May I try learning it my way?" I asked with a smirk.
"Uh, what's your way?"
"Alright, I am just going to put my hands on your head and connect with you while you use the ability," I said as I put my hands on my dad's temples.
"OH! Great idea Chiyo!" Gohan said.
My dad had the most amazing scent that just filled me with security and fatherly love, my enhanced Saiyan senses were overloaded for a moment. I hadn't really smelled him before...Was it because he is alive now? I tried to not let it show but it was nice to know the smell of my dad and I was extremely happy to have him alive and with us, the future is a whole lot brighter with Son Goku on earth.
"Uh, Chiyo? Where should I go?"
"Goten could you fly across that field really fast please?" I asked with a smile for my little bro and indicated my dad should wait for him.
"I sure can!" Goten said and he and Trunks both flew off cause why wouldn't he. They laughed the whole way.
"So I should go to Goten then?" Goku asked for clarification.
"Yes, and try to go as slow as you can so I can try to feel it activate."
"Alright!"
I reached into his mind which felt like an open meadow that could turn into a raging storm in an instant. It was peaceful and calm but held lots of power and potential. I had closed my eyes and I felt him touch his fingers to his forehead and focus on Goten's Ki. He locked onto my little brother's Ki presence and I was sort of confused as to what aspect he was focusing on.
I felt him channel his Ki slowly and a process that was almost a mix of the After-Image technique, Ki-sensing, and the Solar Flare ability went through both of us.
A tidal wave of Ki didn't just cover both of us, but it shifted something, my physicality maybe?
When you use the Solar Flare technique you are literally changing your Ki into empowered light. It is pure light and it isn't as damaging to physical objects as normal Ki is, but much stronger to things that are weak to luminosity. Ki was strange in that it exists just by it's nature as dormant and latent power. To access it is to pull it from it's dormant hidden state to pull it through your body to an active state. In that state it exists as pure life force, strengthening everything it touches.
The moment the energy leaves the body and becomes external it gains a bit of luminosity. One can force the Ki to hide it's light, but it still exists in a wave-like state. Unlike most types of radiation (that is energy that comes from a source and travels at the speed of light) it also has a bit of physicality, making it's interaction with anything other than the life force associated with it, destructive.
This brings on thoughts about transferring Ki through abilities similar to my healing power. The difference is the owner of the life force, I am essentially willing it to either heal or to give to someone instead of willing it to hit something. It is a matter of consciously willing the Ki to do as you wish.
I felt how my dad just changed us into light, though it wasn't a conscious choice to do so. It was based on his focus, currently locked on my little brother's Ki signature, he willed our Ki to pull the luminosity towards my brother. It felt like I was missing a few parts but that was what I gathered from it.
The effect was instantaneous and we sort of 'bounced' off of Goten's Ki before appearing near him.
There was a crazy amount of information and I was doing my best to process it as we landed. I was in that weird state where I could envision how to perform it but not exactly the start or finish. I am missing a few things. I opened my eyes to see my dad's smiling face, "Great, I think a few more jumps and I will have it down, can you take us to Dende?"
He laughed, "Alrighty! Here we go!"
The air changed as I followed his steps, this time with a different focus and a different person's Ki. We popped into existence next to Dende and Mr. Popo.
"Hiya Dende! Mr. Popo! How's it going?" Goku asked them.
I was still focused on the technique he used so I ignored the conversation for now as I kept my eyes closed. I focused on the transition point, which was a combination of focusing on Dende's Ki signature and trying to figure out how my dad willed everything his Ki touched to match the signature that Dende had.
It was almost like if the signature had the same name as yours then it could be considered a part of you, then you can be with it. Putting these distant thought's into a process of how to use this technique wasn't helping me, but I tried to analyze every aspect.
One aspect of Instant Transmission is the changing to and from light. The transition felt like a by-product of willing your Ki to be next to another's which has to be a sentient and living being. It wasn't a specific process that you guided your Ki through, but to put it into steps it was like this.
First, ensure the Ki is spread around the people that are going to Transmit. Then lock in on the target, putting fingers on the forehead is a sort of concentration technique, it not only helps with identifying and searching for Ki signatures, but it also helps with the next step.
Step three is to 'match the signature' of the distant Ki. it isn't like trying to match a fingerprint, but more like just matching the vibration rate, causing resonance.
The fourth step is the initiation of willing your Ki to be part of the distant one. The process of turning to luminosity is what happens when the final step is reached, we are playing with the amount of life force and physical matter we are by turning it into Ki based light. Light is here, light is there, we are there. It feels like I have everything down but the last transitional phase.
"I think I figured it out," I said.
I let go of my connection with my dad and opened my eyes. The sun was setting across the land below the Lookout and it was a beautiful sight. There were mountains in the distance casting everything below us in shadow while beautiful orange light cascaded across the sky. "Wow, it is beautiful up here."
"Yes, it is," Dende said with a smile as he joined us in looking across the landscape.
"Dende! How are you?"
"I am doing well Chiyo, thank you!" I walked up and hugged the little guy much to his embarrassment. I also gave Mr. Popo a nod and a smile, he never liked being touched so I respected that.
"Goku was just saying you are practicing how to use Instant Transmission?" Dende asked.
"Yeah! It will be exceedingly important for many of us to have this ability. Even if my Dad is alive again it is an essential ability," I said.
Dende looked up at my dad, "Goku!? Y-y-your alive?!"
"Hehe," My dad rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Yeah, I guess Kabito Kai decided that I should be alive."
"Well, I think I have figured out how to use this ability, so we should get going anyways!" I said. "It was good to see you Dende, Mr. Popo," I said with a smile.
"You too Chiyo."
"Alright Dad, I am going to try this so I will meet you back at Bulma's."
He smiled, "Alright, you got this! See you guys!" And he put his fingers on his head and disappeared.
I know I have it now!
I focused on Gohan's Ki. There was a small link to him through our empathetic connection and I could feel him back at the party. I used the idea of filling myself with Ki and willing myself to appear next to him. I didn't feel the shift but I kept focusing. Then I cleared my mind again and quickly focused on the steps I made.
I worked through them and easily reached the fourth step and I disappeared from the Lookout and popped back into the party.
That evening had gone on with food and drinks for everyone. I discovered a liking for a juice that no one could figure out what fruit it was from. The Kai's had been offered a place to stay for the night, but they just waved and teleported away, saying they would be back tomorrow.
I had spent a long time listening to stories of my mom and dad back in the day when they were in the WMAT together and other great stories. It was one of the best nights I have had, and we sat up by the pool for a while as people slowly trickled off to bed.
I looked up at the stars, letting my Ki reach out and feel the world around me. I am not sure if this is how meditation usually works, but the feeling of connecting to things is so strange and amazing. Even here on the edge of a concrete jungle, I could still feel a connection to the life signatures, and different forms of Ki all around.
"You doing alright there kiddo?" Bulma asked.
I looked over as she moved her poolside lounge chair next to mine, and 18 joined on the other side, "Hey, yeah I am doing fine, just thinking about things." I realized that we were all that remained now and the few lights that were on were in a soft blue hue matching the pool lights, while there were green lights in different planters all around the area.
"Hm, about the tournament?" 18 asked.
"Well, not exactly, more just about this world and the things it faces," I kicked my sandals off and pulled my lounger to a sitting position.
18 sighed, "Girl, you need to relax a bit, you just kicked some serious ass today and the world isn't going anywhere."
"She's right, here drink this," Bulma walked back with two drinks and handed one to 18 and one to me, "I know you Saiyans have powerful senses, so I had them make some tasty strawberry and mango daiquiris!"
I laughed a bit and took a sip, "Wow, this is really good! I was expecting alcohol to be worse somehow with my taste buds."
18 laughed, "I usually stick to wine, but since we are indulging." She leaned out and we all clinked our glasses.
"So, 18, Chiyo's crazy plans today resulted in the capture of a wizard's spaceship, pretty wild huh?" Bulma asked, setting the tone so far.
"Yeah, I had to miss it to fight the strongest man alive," 18 said with no slight amount of sarcasm.
I snorted at that, "He might be a dingus, but he will take great care of Gohan's kids."
They laughed, "Gohan and Videl... I like it, but are you sure they will end up together?" Bulma asked.
"Oh yeah, I was a great wing-man for my brother."
"What's a wing-man?" 18 asked.
"Hmmm, imagine a partner in crime that tries to...well bring people together?"
"Like a hookup?" Bulma asked trying to make me blush.
I dramatically gasped, "Bulma, my ears! Do know about hooking up with people?"
18 laughed at that.
Bulma spoke again, this time her smirk victorious, "You think Chichi was your dad's first? Think again girly."
My jaw dropped at that, "No way!"
18 leaned closer to listen to Bulma, her gasp was just as loud as mine.
Bulma kept her smirk, "Oh yeah, for a while in fact."
"WHAT?! That is awesome! Were you guys together?"
She shrugged, "It was a sort of passionate thing for about a year, we were both young and addicted to our passions, fighting for your dad and research for me. He brought all this amazing technology and we were always together."
"Wow, I would have looked so good with blue hair!" I said with a smile.
They laughed.
18 asked, "So does Chichi know?"
"Oh yeah, as you two might know...Saiyans are not exactly the most subtle about their private lives, no offense Chiyo," Bulma said with a smirk.
I shrugged again, "Hey I get it, I am only half Saiyan, and wearing clothes is annoying as hell."
"You do love those short tops don't you?" 18 asked with a smile.
"I do, it's not like either of you couldn't rock them either, you both are gorgeous and fit," I said, "But sorry continue Bulma."
"Oh yeah, well one time when they were finally together after that other World Martial Arts Tournament back then, apparently Goku asked if she could do something that I did, and well you could imagine how that went," Bulma said.
18 and I laughed like high schooler's, I don't think I have ever had girl talk before, but if this was it, then I am loving it. I had no idea that my dad and Bulma were together, but it makes sense, both are attractive people around that age.
"So wait, was he your first?" I asked.
Bulma looked at me with narrowed eyes, I blushed immediately like being called out, "Curious as to what the first time is like huh?"
"No!"
They both laughed. We stayed up late, had drinks, and eventually went to bed after one of the best days of my new life.
The next day found most of the Z-Fighters at the Lookout once again. We had enjoyed a massive breakfast before the day's activities began and I could feel the excitement as more potential power was at play.
Vegeta was absent however and I wondered if he was thinking about my words about having a righteous heart. If any of us want to try the Saiyan Ascension method to access divine Ki then we need Vegeta to do it for the right reasons or it might not work at all.
I am purposefully trying to remove the series of events that led up to Vegeta making a sacrifice to save the planet, not for that reason but because so many people die. Majin Buu is the cause of that, and it won't happen like that again.
"You doing alright sis?"
I was drawn from my thoughts as Gohan nudged my shoulder. "Hey, I...I just have a lot on my mind."
He nodded then looked at me, "You can always talk to me. I don't think I could ever understand the weight on your shoulders, but it is apparent that the last few days have added up."
I nodded and just stepped towards him and leaned my head on his shoulder, "There are so many ways I can screw up. But if we aren't strong enough Gohan, we can lose everything."
I looked up at him and as he smiled it seemed to ease my worry.
"We will get strong, starting today. Supreme Kai said we can go to his world for the Z-Sword whenever. Don't worry Chiyo, all of us will work together to get stronger," Gohan said and I smiled and hugged him again before breaking off.
"Maybe we should do that first then come back and get Vegeta before I try to break through to Super Saiyan 4," I said.
"Whatever is fine Chiyo, just know that I have your back on this. You can tell me anything you want, okay?"
I smiled at my brother, "We do this together then."
He nodded back, "Let's go and break a sword!"
I smiled back, "Alright, good morning Kais!"
Shin looked over to us and smiled, "Good morning Chiyo. Gohan, how are you two feeling after the tournament and the events yesterday?"
I smiled back at the Supreme Kai and Kibito with a halo over his head, "We are feeling ready,"
Gohan smiled and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly at my bluntness.
I turned to Kibito, "I will hopefully be able to add a Kai to your numbers today, with all of us working together, we can start to change this universe for the better."
Kibito looked at me, his hard stare constantly trying to read me, "I admit to being worried about this going wrong, but you haven't been wrong yet."
"Don't worry Mr. Kibito! My Gohan and Chiyo here are both the smartest kids out there! They won't let you down!" My dad said with his trademark smile.
"Kai Kai," Shin said and Kibito, Gohan, Goku, and myself all appeared on the Kai's world instantaneously.
"Wow...this place is gorgeous," I said.
"Thank you, I take great pride in this place," Shin said.
I nodded and Goku spoke up, "This place is great, got any food around here?"
"Dad we just ate!" Gohan said with exasperation.
"Yeah, but I am hungry?" Goku asked.
"Well, you have to wait now," I said and laughed a bit.
"Alright, the sword is this way, not too far of a flight," Shin said and he took off in some direction.
We all followed and I bumped up next to Gohan and spoke to him.
"It will require all of your strength to not only release the Z-sword from the rock but to break it. And...that will be the least frustrating part of your next day," I said with an awkward laugh.
"What do you mean?" Gohan asked.
"When we finally convince the Grand Kai to unlock your potential it will take nearly 25 hours to complete. You must wait the entire time. It will be so boring and annoying but you have to endure," I said gravely.
"I just have to sit there for 25 hours?"
I nodded, "I brought books for you...but you might not be able to read it if the Old Kai says so. Is that alright Gohan?"
We kept flying and he stared at me, "It's fine, but you better promise to teach me Instant Transmission."
I smiled, "I was going to do that anyways. It will let you get to Videl and your future family whenever you need to."
He shook his head, "You already know don't you?"
"You will have lots of love in your life brother, I cannot wait to be a part of it," I said with a smile that he matched with blushing cheeks.
I think he was starting to realize that he and Videl are definitely accepted by everyone, and I am sure that his emotions seem to be happy about it.
We had arrived at the large stone, 20 meters tall, that contained the Z-sword down to the hilt. Shin was actually smiling as Goku and Gohan were inspecting the sword, and not worried or concerned as I thought they would be.
"So Chiyo, you are saying an Old Kai is in there, do you know how old he is?" Shin asked me as he saw me inspecting him and Kibito.
"Hmmm, something like 15 generations of Kai's he has been locked in there," I said, the memory of the events of the anime/manga still intact while I seemingly forgot details of my private life.
I turned and saw their faces sitting awestruck, "Would you be able to summon a Katchin metal cube about the size of that boulder please?" I asked Shin with a smile.
His mouth finally closed and he said, "How do you- No, of course, you know about Katchin, yeah I can do that."
Kibito began to look really nervous as Shin put his hand in the air and a 3x3x3 meter cube of black metal formed into existence. He gently placed it on the ground with his telekinesis and Kibito finally broke.
"Supreme Kai, I don't know about this plan, I mean, we can't be sure that Gohan will even be able to pull the sword out of the stone, and even if he does...should we really try to break it?"
I just smiled and watched Shin, who looked at me. I nodded and he nodded back, "I believe in Chiyo, she has already done amazing things, let's not lose our trust in her just yet," Shin said.
"Thank you, Shin, when the Old Kai appears this will be obvious. Alright Gohan, you remember what I said right? Power up to your maximum and pull that sword out. Then strike this block of metal," I explained.
"Alright, sis! Here goes!" Gohan said and he took a deep breath.
He then screamed as he powered up to Ascended Super Saiyan and leveled off at the completed transformation.
It was impressive as always and I could feel my Saiyan instincts wanting to match him.
He gripped the sword and grunted. "HUUUHHAHHHAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" With a burst of Ki, Gohan swiftly pulled the sword out of the block and held it about his head.
He held the sword while breathing heavily, this was another scene I would never forget, and I quietly pulled my phone out and took a picture. He just looked so awesome with his purple gi and a giant sword.
Gohan floated down to the katchin cube of metal, "You sure about this sis?"
I just smiled, "Yeah go right ahead and try to cut the metal!"
The Kai's visibly winced as the sword shattered and it was a loud and terrible sound. I remember it took a few minutes but then the second most...or maybe the most perverted person in the series would show up.
"Uhhh, Chiyo...where is he?" Goku asked.
I just felt out with my Ki senses and sure enough, another presence like the Kai's popped up. I was very well hidden from sight so hopefully, I could delay this creep from checking me out though I know it is inevitable.
"Chiyo? Where did Chiyo go?" Goku asked again.
"Hehehehehe" An old voice giggled off to the side.
Everyone turned to face him.
"About time you guys noticed me!"
"Wow, she was telling the truth," Shin said.
"Old Kai!?" Kibito said in shock.
"Well, I am sure you are wondering how I am still alive. So you obviously don't know what happened, so listen! There was a villain! Not as bad as Majin Buu, but still pretty bad. The only thing he feared was that I would use my awesome powers to stop him and his evil ways. So he tricked me! He sealed me away inside the Z-sword from whence I came," He looked ridiculously smug at this lie.
"You were trapped in the Z-sword all this time?!" Shin asked.
"I sure was, now I got a cramp."
"I don't think this guy looks as strong as he says," Goku whispered to Gohan, "Do you?"
"Not really," Gohan said while rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. He had just let his transformation drop, still holding the broken sword handle.
"He isn't," I said loud enough so Goku didn't shoot him with a Ki blast to test him.
"What!? Who said that?" The old kai asked with rage.
I snorted, "Look Old Kai, we aren't here to listen to you lie about Lord Beerus the Destroyer. We have released you from the sword so we can finally defeat Majin Buu," I said while just peaking around the corner at him and he didn't seem to realize I was a female, but he flinched violently at that name drop. As did Shin.
"You released me to help defeat Majin Buu, but you speak to me with such insolence! Why should I help any of you?!"
"Chiyo, why are you hiding?" Goku asked.
"Cause this guy is a pervert!" I said.
Kibito and Shin flinched, "Chiyo! You can't call a Kai that!"
"He is! Want me to prove it?" I asked.
I stepped around Kibito and stared at the Old Kai, whose eyes went wide and he stuttered as I made eye contact.
"You are a pervert, aren't you...Oollld Kaaaiiii?" I said slowly as I lifted my gi slightly showing my toned abs and I slowly walked towards him so my hips swayed. I could tell it worked as blood exploded from the old Kai's nose and I stopped immediately.
"See?"
"Oh wow."
"Okay, but Chiyo, what is his superpower?" Goku asked.
"He can awaken the inner strength of people, more specifically he can awaken a person's potential, and we need him to do that for Gohan," I said,
What I said seemed to break the Old Kai from his perverted trance, "How do you know about my power?!"
"Chiyo here is a seer and was able to convince us on how to handle Majin Buu. This is one of the steps in doing so," Shin explained.
"A seer you say?!" Old Kai said skeptically and stared at me. "And just why would I do anything you ask for free?"
"I have...dirty magazines in my possession, for trade. In addition to releasing you from the confines of that sword, I am willing to let you have these magazines," I said with a blush across my face as I threw the Capsule out with the dirty mags.
"Ch-Chiyo?! Where did you get dirty magazines?!" My dad asked me.
"Don't worry, I got them from Master Roshi for this exact purpose."
"Still, I don't think you should have dirty magazines!" Goku said.
"Well, I didn't want to have to let him grope me in exchange for awakening my brothers' power!" I said the last bit with disgust as Shin and Kibito flinched.
"Surely he wouldn't do that?!" Shin said.
"There is no way! He is a kai!" Kibito said.
"Well, it's either that or I have to go peaking-" He stopped talking when I leveled a hand at him with a ball of ki building.
"Stop being perverted til I leave," I commanded.
"Hmph!"
Eventually, I convinced him to go through with the stupid-looking ritual that actually worked and he started dancing like the looney he was.
I dropped a capsule that had 10 political science and history books for Gohan to read. I know one topic that would be great for Gohan to learn about would be politics, especially if we actually inherit anything about the Fire Kingdom.
I then put the huge cube of Katchin metal into the same Capsule and pocketed it. I didn't say anything and they didn't even ask, I am sure the Supreme Kai wouldn't mind me cleaning up a bit.
"Alright, Gohan. This is going to suck, but I know you can do it. I will begin my own training back on Earth, just know that yours will be more frustrating than mine, but we will meet tomorrow to see what worked, I said to Gohan who was trying not to laugh at the crazy Old Kai's dance moves.
He looked back to me with a tired smile, "Don't worry Chiyo, I got this. I wish I could be there for you today though."
"You are always with me Gohan! I also left another capsule here with some food in it in case you all get hungry," I said with a smile my mom made sure that Gohan had food. Goku was definitely about to say something when I grabbed my dad's shoulder and Instant Transmission'd us back to the Lookout, where I could feel Piccolo's Ki.
One more close-ranged Instant Transmission and my dad and I were back home.
"Okay Chiyo, I need you to explain things to me!" Goku said after we arrived in the kitchen.
"Oh? Hi Mom!" I hugged my mom while waiting for my dad to ask the question.
"Hi sweety, how are you doing?" Chichi asked me and I gave her a hug while my dad smile but was definitely only thinking about one thing.
"What is this new Super Saiyan 4 all about?"
"I am not even sure if it will work, but either way it will answer a lot of questions," I said.
"Why not?" Goku asked me.
"Well, there are several things that we need to do before I can try the transformation," I said while not exactly answering his question.
My dad narrowed his eyes at me, "Chiyo...you wouldn't happen to be making this up would you?"
I laughed, "It wasn't me who made this up, but depending on Vegeta and also my tail, two different powers will be accessible for us."
"Hmmm, your tail, so it is about the Oozaru form then? The Super Saiyan version of that?" Goku asked.
"One of them is, the other is an ancient Saiyan ritual. It involves 5 Saiyans channeling their energy into another and if it works that one will become a...well a lot more powerful. It will enable us to beat Majin Buu," I explained.
"I see, so you want both to work or just your tail?"
"I hope the ritual works more than my tail's power up to Super Saiyan 4, though it would be interesting either way."
"Wait, so what is the power-up for the ritual called?" Goku asked.
I smirked at him as my mom was listening to our conversation with a smile on her face. "Super Saiyan God."
That made my dad drop his jaw in shock.
"I need to talk to Vegeta before it even can be attempted, and it might not be a pleasant fight," I said.
"Fight or Talk?" My mom asked.
"Yeah, exactly. I will find you after I try to convince him," I said.
I found Vegeta in the only place he would be, in the gravity chamber. I knocked on the door as I opened it. He was breathing heavily and sweating like he just did some workout, the gravity was at 10 times Earth standard. He didn't look at me yet I could almost feel his derision on account of my presence.
I stared at the Saiyan Prince as he stood still. Who knows if this is his version of meditation or something?
I stood still making sure he was aware of my presence, which of course he was, but I made sure I didn't interrupt him by moving my energy or attempting communication.
Finally, he spoke. "What do you want?" His voice was as challenging and hostile as ever.
I waited for a few beats longer to answer his question than needed, "You hate me."
No response.
"You hate this world."
No response.
"You hate my father."
He twitched.
I waited for a few then spoke again, "I can see certain events in the future as a part of my abilities. I know you know who Lord Beerus the Destroyer is." I didn't know this for sure, and I was putting it all on the line to get him to attempt the ritual.
If he doesn't do it for the right reasons, then it won't work or worse.
That drew his attention, "What do you know of him?"
"I know that at some point he gets a vision of something called a Super Saiyan God. When he awakens he comes to our planet putting a spiraling series of events into motion and if we are not powerful enough to entertain him he will destroy all of us," I had been speaking in a monotone voice the entire time and continued as such. He had no reaction.
"There is also more...we are universe 7 and it is the twin of universe 6. In that universe planet Sadala was never destroyed."
"What?!"
"It was never destroyed and Saiyans in that universe fight for good, as protectors," I explained.
That seemed to shock him, "So what are you asking me then? Follow you around like some weakling?!"
"No," I shook my head. "You and my dad fight for different reasons than the rest of us. Don't get me wrong, all of us love fighting, but I don't care about being the strongest or whatever. I just need to be strong enough to protect our family."
I saw him about to respond to that last part and I kept talking, "Bulma and Trunks are my families as well. I love both of them and I will fight for them as hard as I would fight for my own mother and brother. Hell, Trunks, Goten, and I train together all the time!" He was fully staring at me now, most likely wondering where I was going with this.
"So no, I don't want you to follow me on some stupid path that somehow makes me better than you, or even disrespects you in any way," I took a deep breath. "I just want to show you the steps to get to the next level of power ahead of time," I said.
"To make it so I didn't earn it," He accused.
"No, I am just showing you the door, you need to walk through it," Fire entered my voice as I stepped forward, "We have our fights in the future and the collateral damage is entire universes. That is the stakes we will be fighting for. Not just our families, but trillions of others as well. We cannot survive without you and my dad. You both need to be as strong as possible if we are going to have a chance." I said, my ki spiking I was ready to fight, he always starts with a punch in close quarters.
We challenged each other's will with our gazes, neither backing down and I spoke again, "Lord Beerus is just the start, to be honest, he isn't even the real threat until the Tournament of Power."
"Tournament of Power?"
I nodded, "The ruler of the multiverse is a being named Zeno. He can just erase us from existence if he chooses. If our mortal level isn't high enough then we will be when the time comes." I briefly described how my dad would spark interest in the deity to give us a chance to make a selfless wish or be erased.
He stared at me like I was speaking another language, "What do you want then."
"The ritual to complete ascension to become a Saiyan God will be the next step. We will perform it 4 times until you, me, my dad and Gohan have all achieved the form," I explained as clearly as I could.
"Super Saiyan...God.." Vegeta spoke slowly, his deadly tone nearly giving me the chills.
"That's right, divine ki. It was a ritual from ancient Saiyan history, allowing one to become a god," I explained.
He stared at me for longer, "Go on."
I nodded and held a smile from leaving my mind and began to explain everything to him. In the end, I convinced Vegeta to work with us for the sake of more power and protecting what matters. In his case, it was probably a complex mix of Bulma, Trunks, and the pride of the Saiayn race, maybe even what lives in Universe 6.
Since I stopped him from accepting Babidi's mental influence in this timeline by overriding events, he didn't kill anyone at the World Martial Arts Tournament and has been essentially just training for like 7 years since the Cell Games. I suppose the ritual will just flat-out fail if we don't meet the requirements, but he has been a much different person since he worked for Frieza.
"Fine then, I agree to this, ritual."
