Chapter-06 - A New Level of Power
"You, are sure about this Saiyan ritual?" He had asked me.
"I am, it has to be for something, or it just won't work," I replied.
He stared at the wall while talking to me, "All my life I have been fighting and pushing to grow stronger. I see Trunks and Goten reach levels of power that could have saved my race from Frieza, and they are mere children- Tsch, damn!" He punched at the wall, his shockwave causing a groan in the wall and a burst of wind to flow through the chamber.
The scent of sweat and blood rushed past me.
"I didn't tell you everything that would have happened, but against Buu, well...he would have destroyed most of the world," he didn't respond. "In the end, there was a time when you sacrificed your life for Trunks and Goten. That is the sort of righteous heart you need so all of us can advance. The amount of power changes the entire scale-"
"What is in it for you?" Vegeta interrupted.
"Having the strength to protect what matters, my little brothers, Trunks and Goten, my mother and father, my twin. That isn't to mention this world either. The powers we are up against are endless and overwhelming," I explained, "And I know that you don't like anything that could be close to emotions, but you have a gorgeous wife and an amazing son, you are the last of the royal line of full Saiyans and I will do all I can to make sure we have the means to protect them."
He turned and held eye contact for a long time, then finally it looked like he clenched his jaw as he came to a decision, "Fine then," looked down at his hands, "For my Son and Bulma."
I smiled slightly at that with a nod.
"You think we can all become one of these Super Saiyan Gods then?"
"Saiyans are more connected than we can imagine, the only reason we are as strong as we are is that you and my father have walked the path for your whole lives. Your power is why we are here, and one of the most important abilities that a Saiyan has is matching the power of others, we just have to feel it first." I said with my best monotone, but even then a bit of my passion showed through.
Gohan and the Kai's made it back to earth in the mid-morning the next day and I could tell that there was a massive difference in my brother already. Our connection was strong but it felt like there was a raging inferno of power on the other side of the bond, just ready to escape. When he appeared in front of us I couldn't help but search for him as he walked up to me. I know people were talking but my brother was looking back at me with an easy smile.
"Morning!"
"Morning everyone," I said while searching my brother's eyes. I could feel the energy from deep within him just looking for an excuse to explode. I kept staring at him until he reached out and touched my shoulder.
"Chiyo? Is everything okay?" Gohan asked me.
"It worked," I said with a worried smile.
He smiled back, "Why do you look worried? And hey! What was the point of those political books? I was bored out of my mind!"
"Did you read them?"
"Of course I did, there was nothing better to do!" Gohan said.
I smiled, reading at super speed is a great time and in my opinion one of my favorite uses of ki. With Ki, I can channel it through my head and eyes, something that is normal for fighting, but just sitting around and reading I can intake information at superhuman speeds. It was Gohan that showed me this one, something he used to power through our mother's homeschooling no doubt.
"How is your energy? Do you think you could expend a bunch right now if needed?" I asked curiously.
"I am honestly aching to do just that...was hoping to spar with you... unless you have something else in mind?" Gohan asked.
"I do...it is time for us to power up as a crew, or at least our dad first," I told him, before turning to see everyone was watching our exchange.
"Alright, It is time, but we should all know there are a few things that we have to be ready for," I said and went on to explain my concerns about everything.
It was agreed that my dad would be the first to attempt the ascension ritual but I had my own tweaks I wanted to make. "The thing about us Saiyans is that we empower each other. When we attempt this ritual you must focus your ki here and pull it out."
I pointed at the spot at my upper back where Caulifa explained that she felt the Ki power in Dragon Ball Super. It was true though like the source of our powers interacted with that part of our bodies.
"In this ritual, we will be channeling all of that energy that we pull from deep within into the next person in the circle and no matter what happens keep pushing forward," I said ominously.
No one chose to say anything but it was clear that everyone was nervous. We had all flown out to the desert to make sure that we don't destroy anything too badly. Regardless of what happens, the world will feel this.
Videl had come out in support of my brother and the rest of the Z-fighters plus a jet with Bulma as the pilot for everyone else. My mom was worried sick but all of us gave her a hug.
I looked around the circle of us Saiyans and everyone was looking at me. I made eye contact with Vegeta and he nodded at me and I hid my surprise at his acknowledgment.
I had positioned the ritual so that Goku was receiving the first to ascend. Both Gohan and Vegeta had their hands on his back, with Goten and Trunks on either side of me. I had chosen to become the anchor because I am going to supercharge this ritual and hope that more than one of us can ascend. If nothing happens then it is just more energy for my dad.
"Alright, we go to Super Saiyan then transfer the energy down the chain to my dad. We will know when it works and my dad will have unlocked Super Saiyan Red." I said.
"Red!?" My dad said, clearly not having listened earlier.
"Let's do this!" I said and we all powered up and held hands. The ritual began.
I could feel our energies mingling at first. Our Ki signatures all knew each other well and were used to being powered up next to each other. It is like staring at recognizable bonfires amongst a sea of candles to my Ki senses, but I focused on pushing my energy out.
Super Saiyan was always an odd state for me, as I didn't use anger to access it. I could use it comfortably but it just felt lacking in the face of the Legendary Transformation. It was like my body didn't want to accept the weaker state of being but either way I felt my signature change to a certain wavelength. Blue lightning began to course down my arms and into Goten and Trunks who were also beginning to glow blue.
I closed my eyes so I could see what happens with my Ki sense. I felt the harmonious state that we were striving for come into focus. As we passed our Ki down the line we were all attuned to the same wavelength, regardless of power level. It was an amazing feeling as our powers resonated, my body almost vibrated with the power.
Gohan and Vegeta's golden aura turned blue and I could feel the power beginning to build while the blue lightening became an aura surrounding us. The power then circled back towards my dad.
"Oh wow! It's...hmm something is happening," When he said that the wind started to pick up and rings of golden light began to spark outwards from Goku like blasts of energy.
"What does it feel like Dad?" Gohan asked.
"Hmmmm, kinda tingly...maybe?" Goku asked.
The blue light turned into a thick golden aura, it was so heavy that it almost felt like we were deep underwater.
The golden light eventually covered all of us until a spark at the center of the circle changed the aura again. It was then that my Ki senses lost sight of everything around me. I could physically see the nearly metallic golden energy flowing around us.
I knew this was something else that what we had been dealing with before. The power of it just seemed to be another magnitude above the levels we have been operating at so far. The Golden light became a column that went wait up into the sky.
"Oh wow.. my body is achy all over!" Goku said.
Vegeta scoffed, "You're about to become a god! Now, quit whining or I will take over!" Vegeta said but it didn't have as much hostility as usual.
The golden light seemed to switch from gold to blue and back again as it blasted upwards forming a massive column. The sunny day was suddenly covered with gold clouds that reminded me of the Nimbus.
The clouds parted to form some sort of portal to another realm. A hole in space and time formed as golden clouds heralded the awakening of a new god.
My dad began to float and his body turned into solid red light. The changes happening to my dad could only be felt by the Kai's who were probably gawking somewhere but I could feel the air begin to vibrate. The rest of us began to power down as the rest of our energy was drawn from us.
I hadn't even realized I didn't try to overpower the ritual as it just did what it needed. Goku levitated out of Gohan and Vegeta's reach. We all relaxed as the ritual seemed to be coming to a close while my dad was still made of red energy, and his clothes as well.
Through the red light, I could tell that his body had changed and his outline was more lithe and athletic looking. As if it didn't matter how large his muscles were anymore, they felt like they were well beyond mortal constraints.
When his energy had finally stabilized and the red glow of his form faded, he turned and faced us with a smile. He looked as if more changed than just his hair, energy, and body. He looked around the world with awe as if never seeing before.
"I can't feel his energy at all!" Gohan said.
"Speak up Kakarot, what does it feel like?" Vegeta demanded.
My dad looked down at his right hand and smiled, "It is so big. But not just that, it also feels as though my awareness of my surroundings has increased...hmm strange."
It started to lightly rain from the remaining golden clouds, and golden specks of water slowly fell around us, while we were still illuminated by the sun. It was a surreal moment while we inspected my dad. I pulled my phone out and took a picture of this moment.
"What do you mean that it is big?" Goten asked.
"Like I am bigger than my body size somehow? I feel like my aura reaches into the sky, it is a part of me," My dad explained with a curious smile.
"Goku you look amazing!" Chichi yelled over at us while holding an umbrella. Goku smiled at everyone with a wave.
"Yeah Goku, you look so young again!" Krillin said with a smirk.
"Are you up for a spar? I can try to access my powerup if you are interested? Or we can all try to fight against you," I asked.
Goku looked at me, what I could sense from him was only peace, "Do you mean that Oozaru form with the tail you were talking about?"
I nodded, "We can see if it really works or not, and then we can both test our power levels. If not, then you will just have to wait until Vegeta is there tomorrow."
"Alright, well, what are you waiting for Chiyo! Try it out!" My dad said with way too much enthusiasm.
I looked to Vegeta, "Vegeta...can you do the light ball that mimics moonlight?"
He raised an eyebrow and scoffed before putting his hand up and the blutz wave ball flew out into the atmosphere.
"Alright Dad, stop me from going beserk, but if I start to get it under control let me go for it alright?" I asked.
"Yeah, no problem Chiyo! Just do your best to hold on!" Goku said his trademark carefree attitude was now radiating from him as if it was his divine domain.
I smiled at my dad as I let the ball of moonlight draw my attention. I felt the stirring power of my tail as it recognized the light in the sky.
My entire being quaked as I looked up at the light. It stirred something deep within me and I felt things change. It started with my nose and mouth, a piercing pain took over the light.
I lost myself to a wave of anger and rage like I couldn't grasp my mind as the wave of anger flooded everything.
I raised my head to the sky and let out an earth-shaking roar. My ki was enhancing the effect and carrying the roar for miles all around as I powered up.
I shook my head a bit and let go of some of the anger and it became a colder rage.
I entered some sort of mental space where there was a series of figures locked in a sort of aura fight. They represented different aspects of power that I had within me as I could feel the connection to them.
There were two larger sources of power clashing harder than the others, one being the shape of a massive ape, with black fur and red eyes. It had rage, calculation, destruction, and depths of power that I couldn't comprehend the more I looked at it. I labeled this source Oozaru.
Next to the ape was the other strongest source of power, a massive green inferno vaguely Saiyan shaped. It too held rage. But it was different. This was the Legendary Super Saiyan source, its rage was matched only by Saiyan Pride. It almost felt like a personification of the aspects of Vegeta, its power tied directly to pride and fury.
The most similar to that was a golden-white flame, this one's shape was more like my body, instead of a large male Saiyan. Its range of power was more directly tied to the aspect of will. It was as if it responded to the will to be stronger and
I realized that I was getting a rare insight into the basis of how much of my power sources worked, even if I couldn't identify all of them. I needed to keep accessing this information. The gold form was my Super transformation, made to manifest the power of my will as a Saiyan. This can be enhanced with passionate emotions but was directly focused on enhancement.
Two more sources were curious as well, one was a silver humanoid and another was a being of red flames. I tried to inspect them but they were hard to see, like because I hadn't walked down the path of them that the information was locked. The red one wasn't Super Saiyan Red, I could understand that without a doubt, the color was closer an orange fire than the red divine ki. I don't know what it was, but it had fire and humanity as the foundation.
Looking at the last source, the silvery humanoid, I realized that it was some sort of human evolution. My potential maybe? Hard to figure out exactly and it was also fairly distant. There was a confusing mix of reasons for the size, ethereal-ness, and distance to each of my sources of power.
All of this assessment happened in seconds and it was at this point that I realized the Oozaru source had merged with me and the mental space I was in shattered. I had just enough time to see the Legendary Green Source envelope both me and the Oozaru source.
Gohan had spent 25 agonizing hours sitting still while some old man just danced around like a weirdo.
But it had worked. Inside him, he could feel the power boiling out in ways that he hadn't felt since he defeated Cell. He felt the need to concentrate on holding the Ki within himself so as not to explode with power. The moment the Old Kai finished Gohan wanted to go spar with his twin just to release some of his Ki.
After he had spent the energy to bring his dad to evolve through the Saiyan Ritual of Ascension, Chiyo wanted to try her own hand at an upgrade. Gohan wouldn't voice his frustration at not being able to spar just yet, spending his energy wasn't enough for him to calm down, he needed a fight.
He put that aside and focused on his sister. As with most of the knowledge Chiyo receives, it is just an idea of what could be if things go a certain way. She had an idea that a form might be possible by trying to go super while in the Oozaru form. Since she was the only Saiyan with a tail, there would be no way for anyone else to test it.
Chiyo was the strangest thing to ever happen to Gohan...apart from Videl. It was like this entire part of him that wasn't there before, the emotions he received from her almost feel like fuel for the day. Their connection inspired him to rekindle his passion for training and growing in strength.
Chiyo was this bright light that changed everything it touched, and Gohan was no different. Now though, her connection to him was distorted, like she wasn't fully there as she changed into an Oozaru.
A torrent of rage, fury, and pain came through the bond and Gohan's emotions responded, "We have to help her!"
"What can we do? I don't want to cut off her tail," Goku said nervously. The power coming from Chiyo was nearly blasting everyone back besides Goku in his Super Saiyan Red form until Gohan's energy responded.
Gohan tried his best to calm his sister's emotions, but it was an umbrella holding against a tidal wave. He was doomed to fail in influencing her emotions, and once her anger surged in reaction to him he lost his cool. Gohan exploded with his hidden potential, the shared rage of the Oozaru flowing through their bond. Ki came bursting out and a second crater formed as another source of power shook the world.
"Whoa, Gohan!? What is happening?" Goku asked.
The two powers seemed to be fighting for dominance as the ki auras clashed in fury. Gohan screamed as he powered up from deep within, "UUuuhhhaAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
Gohan and Chiyo's Ki resonated as they both powered up in tandem.
After the powering up happened there was a strange moment of calm, like the eye of a hurricane. The wind settled a bit and both of the twins were visibly different looking.
Gohan had longer hair than normal but it was still black as night with some blue highlights. The single lock in front of his face was longer as well and his aura had a strange mix of blue and white energy that swirled around him like a twisting flame. His clothing had changed to something that Piccolo would have materialized onto him.
Gohan opened his eyes to have blue irises much darker than the Super Saiyan's turquoise, they locked in on the cold and quiet fury that was beginning to emanate from his twin. He looked at her now, also in a different form.
Her onyx-black hair somehow seemed more vibrant as it flowed down her back from her ponytail, like onyx fire. Her outfit had changed as well. Her top now looked like an armored sports bra that was black and silver. Her pants were a baggy gi-style that stopped just below the knee, black as well. She had small black boots that had metallic silver shin guards and matching bracers on her wrists.
Her aura was massive, neon green by her body directly as it worked out to a solid white at the edges. The two-toned aura was intimidating and stretched high up into the sky around her.
Chiyo's eyes opened and a glowing neon ring surrounded them, the iris a glowing silver. The hair that framed her face as always was more exaggerated and she looked across at Gohan.
Opening my eyes I nearly shut them again when the green light hit my eyes. It was intense, and beyond that my energy turned silver. It was daylight outside but it was like looking through a green lens at a distant bonfire.
I realized that I could feel that bonfire's emotions and that it was in fact my brother staring at me. His form was unlike anything I had seen, but it wasn't his Beast Mode Form. His black and blue highlighted hair was longer than his Ascended Super Saiyan 2 form. He felt a strange mix of emotions, excitement, curiosity, worry, and a bit of anger too. I also had the residual effects from the rage I felt in my Oozaru form.
I raised a black eyebrow at my brother, who smirked back at me. I looked to my right as my tail came forward which I had to feel to make sure that it was still soft, it seemed longer now, nearly as tall as I was, and also felt stronger.
I looked at my brother again who was shaking his head with a smile. His look was incredible, but I didn't understand why he didn't look like his beast form, it was like a Mystic Gohan form with something else, but I couldn't be sure.
I felt Gohan's adrenaline spike as he indicated he wanted to spar through our bond. I felt like I couldn't project the emotion I wanted to him, and I realized that was from not being able to feel the emotion as clearly. I was going for excitement and all that came through was a slight frustration as I couldn't manifest the excitement that usually came with a spar with Gohan.
Gohan raised an eyebrow at the odd emotion, I shook my head and forced the correct one through and it was time.
The instant we collided there was a massive explosion and I didn't feel as many emotions as I thought I should have for the state I was currently in. This was an epic fight with my brother, why wasn't I stoked?
"HEY WAIT! GUYS! THAT ISN'T FAIR! I powered up first, you guys should fight me!" Goku said while still in his Super Saiyan God form.
Gohan and I had stopped hitting each other and stepped back after our dad interrupted us.
"Hmph, why don't you fight both of them then Kakarot, let's see how powerful you really are now."
"This is crazy, these Saiyans all seem to have their own forms!" Shin said loudly.
"Yeah, Saiyans are crazy," Krillin said with wide eyes.
"Have you seen this kind of thing before Vegeta?" Shin asked.
"Tsh, The brat sees things that no one else does. Obviously. She said I have a form but I have to unlock Divine Ki before I can access it," Vegeta angrily explained to the Supreme Kai.
"Your own form...that is incredible," Piccolo said as he shook his head.
"Hah! Fool of a Namekian, don't think she doesn't have plans for you as well. The brat has plans to make all of us strong. Just wait and see. It is only natural that we Saiyans access the next level first," Vegeta said with his trademark smirk.
Piccolo shared a glance with Krillin, "Plans?"
Krillin gulped, "I hope that doesn't include using us as punching bags!"
Vegeta laughed.
"What do you think Gohan?" I asked, almost shocked at how cold my voice sounded.
"Us two versus dad? He doesn't stand a chance!" Gohan said with a smirk.
I tried to send him good emotions, but the fact that I could name any emotions besides 'good' was slightly worrying. I just focused on my dad, "Ready?"
My dad jumped in excitement, "Oh boy! Both Chiyo and Gohan!? Alright! I gotta admit, this should be a good fight!" He was smiling his trademark smile and I wish I could match it.
"Gohan, just like we practiced," My cold and deep voice had terrible promise and I didn't mean for it to sound like that.
"You alright?" Gohan asked.
"Yeah, sorry, something about the Oozaru makes me emotionless in this form I think."
"That isn't true, I feel your emotions, you feel worried, it's like you are just colder maybe," Gohan said.
I looked at him, "That is strange, maybe this form won't let me express them then?"
"Hey! Are we fighting or talking?" Goku interrupted.
"Haha, sorry Dad, we were just discussing our plans!" Gohan explained, "Let's do this!"
Gohan and I flew at my dad without a second to waste. I started my Multi-form attack and came at him from above and to the left while Gohan attacked from the right. My Dad's smile widened.
His red eyes seemed to take in everything as he used simple blocks to stop everything we threw at him as effortlessly as just strolling through the park. Gohan and I came from any and all directions and used our bond to time our attacks together. We both increased the pace and intensity of our combat and I got a chance to grab my dad's arm, not even in a lock or bar, but I just held on.
Gohan into our dad who went flying, I couldn't tell if he wanted to or not, but Gohan definitely connected, "Don't let up!" Gohan said.
I flew into the air and charged up some nameless ki attack and blasted it to where my dad was. He disappeared and I heard the telltale sound of Instant Transmission go off behind me. I immediately slammed my head backward and felt it connect to his nose, but it was like hitting a rock that didn't break.
"AAAHH!" Goku said as he held his nose, "CHIYO! That really hurt!"
"Well, you were going to attack me from behind," I didn't stop and threw a knee into my dad's stomach. I vaguely heard Vegeta laughing at my dad's misfortune but I wasn't going to let that distract me.
He flew backward as the wind was knocked from his lungs. Unfortunately for Goku, his other child was waiting for him with a massive flying kick to the back.
Damage was begging to show on my dad as he was kicked, or maybe that was just our hope. Another crater appeared where my dad landed on his feet. Gohan and I weren't playing around but he had been able to block our attacks to start.
The second I had an edge I did my best to exploit it. I powered up a ki blast that could destroy a city block, I didn't often use specific moves like Kamehameha, which was a better way of condensing ki and releasing it with greater efficiency, enabling more damage directly to the target for less power.
That being said, I can control the size of the blast to contain the area of effect, but make it so the intensity is high enough to disintegrate anything within it. Unless it is another person empowered by their own Ki or something similar.
Either way, there was a threshold that should be breachable with enough force to cause some damage to my dad. So I just aimed for the upper end of that density and launched my condensed blast at his landing spot, forcing as much Ki as I can into it.
Gohan matched my Ki blast with a Masenko of his own, which was stronger than any he had used before. I couldn't feel my Dad's divine ki, but I saw my blast hit him.
I began to charge up another Ki blast and held it behind me if my dad decided to - my thoughts were interrupted by the sound of my father's Instant Transmission and I immediately released the blast I had charged. It hit, but it wasn't charged enough to do any serious damage. That being said, his clothes were torn as I engaged again with a while roundhouse that was easily blocked with his forearm.
He locked my leg and spoke through a growl, "You really don't mess around do you Chiyo. You know I am so proud of you and Gohan. But I think it's time I stop messing around too!"
He blasted me away with a kick of his own while his red aura ignited with orange-firey ki. The wind was knocked out of me but I was still in the air when I regained control and my dad seemed to be trying to power up further. Not being able to sense his ki was like losing another form of sight. I had one less way to track him and it was made clear as Gohan was his next target.
He had been flying in to follow up with my strikes but Goku moved so fast that neither of us saw him deliver 5 strikes to Gohan and begin to head towards me.
I dodged and only took a clip to my shoulder that spun me. The force of the blow was unlike anything I had felt before and I knew that we were only getting stronger, but my dad had been toying with us, and we had no basis for comparison.
Goku let me gather myself as he exchanged blows with Gohan, ending in a staccato of blasts along Gohan's chest and face. My dad followed up with a chop to Gohan's trapezius muscle and he immediately went unconscious as my dad must have injected his Ki with the blast.
I watched my brother fall and I felt like I should be losing my mind in anger. I lost most of my form while my mind was still filled with cold anger. I stopped trying to hit him with my fists and began projecting blasts at him each time. It worked twice then he disappeared.
My vision went black for a second with a strike to my face and I took three more hits to my stomach, side, and leg.
I went a step further into cold calculation this time. I decided to change my slicing attacks into large bursting ones, that left his small movements pointless. I struck harder and faster.
My dad and I began exchanging blows at a quicker and more aggressive pace. I took more than I landed and slowly but surely I was moving faster to catch him.
This cycle continued until I caught a glimpse of his fist incoming and I caught it. I was surprised by my Oozaru-altered mind was too cold to let something like surprise be enough to stop it. I held my dad's fist and punched out with my open hand and he blocked that and broke my grip.
My confidence was an illusion.
My vision flashed red and I took an unknown number of hits. I felt my energy drop drastically and my mind went hazy as my vision went dark. It was only then that I realized the red in my sight was my dad's aura as I fell unconscious. He really is an amazing fighter, even if he lets us have fun first.
I had woken up in the middle of the night, as I apparently had been asleep for nearly 12 hours and I could feel my stomach trying to eat me. I was pretty sore still and one spot on my ribs felt like it was going to be bruised forever. I also had a spot on my right thigh that felt like I was hit with a bat by Yamcha.
I think my mom must have cleaned and changed me at some point though cause I was wearing my comfortable night clothes and I had a bandage around my leg and ribs. My hair was everywhere since it wasn't in the usual ponytail that I wore.
It was so long but I absolutely loved it. Even if I just pulled it when trying to sit up. I left my room with a blanket on my shoulders and made my way through the huge mansion that is now our family home, here on the Capsule Corp campus. Despite it being dark, my eyes made out everything just fine. I wonder if that was from being a Saiyan or just having 6-month-old eyes.
Walking through this house, MY house I looked around. Taking a good look at the walls, the floor, and the pictures my mom had placed were everywhere.
It was almost a surreal feeling being in this world still. Like I expected this incredible dream to end. I have been here for months at this point and I absolutely love my family here. One of the things my mother insisted on was that we take family photos the minute I came into existence. We had taken so many photos but there was one that was my absolute favorite.
It had Gohan as the center with a huge smile, I had a laughing Goten on my shoulders as I was tickling his belly while my mom looked up at us with a tearful smile. I pulled the picture frame off the wall and brought it with me downstairs. I couldn't tell if my melancholy was from waking up late like this, or some other worry I couldn't place.
I had a feeling this was something that had happened in my last life. Waking up at odd times always left me with a sense of being out of place. It must have been exacerbated by the fact that I already had a feeling of being out of place in this world. I made it to the kitchen and found a capsule with a sticky note next to it that read:
"Chiyo dear, Dinner is in the capsule and your favorite juice is in the fridge! Love, Mom."
I was nearly in tears as I kept the sticky note and put it on my picture frame. The emotions were running so high right now...I wonder if it is a side effect of the emotional dampening in my Oozaru form.
I opened the capsule on our ridiculously large dining table, then grabbed a pitcher of my favorite juice of some fruit I didn't know the name of from the fridge. I need to figure it out, but my mom just supplies it and I drink it.
The meal was incredible, as always. I had pasta, sushi, a garden salad, steak, garlic mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, a green bean casserole, and a couple quesadillas. It was a feast that any Saiyan would be proud of and I dug in with ferocity.
Thankfully no one saw me breaking my rule of eating with manners as I turned into a black hole as devoured everything.
I had finished my meal, cleaned everything up, and laid down on the couch with my blanket. I had the picture of me, my brothers, and my mom with the sticky note stuck to the bottom of it set across from me on the coffee table and I thought about my life as it is right now.
I had a really good shot at improving the lives of the people in this world, not just the Z-fighters but the entire world. If I could stop Earth from being a constant battleground for others and maybe even bring it into the galactic community, then maybe I will have earned the right to enjoy this life more than I am now.
To actually feel comfortable in this world is something I need to earn. I drifted off to sleep with plans for the future swirling in my mind. I would earn the right to stay here and live with this amazing family.
Chichi had once again found her daughter sleeping on the couch with one of the few pictures of them all resting in front of her on the coffee table. The picture had the note she left her stuck to it like some sort of memento.
Chichi nearly broke down in tears again as her daughter seemed to feel so much better when love was expressed toward her. She had clearly eaten the dinner Chichi had made for her and also cleaned it up.
"What am I going to do with you, my beautiful daughter?" Chichi said while stroking her hair. She was going to start cooking but it was obviously loud. Goku was already getting up as well to get his early morning training in and he walked over and put an arm around Chichi.
"She is pretty amazing, isn't she? She's only been fighting for a few months and she's already so talented," Goku said with a proud smile.
"You know, she didn't want to fight originally. She didn't talk about it much but she was clearly struggling to decide if she should learn to fight or not. I think she is doing so just for Goten and Trunks," Chichi said.
"What do you mean?" Goku asked.
"Well, I think at some point her ability to see things that haven't happened showed her something she didn't like. I remember the day, she was up all night and stressed. The next morning she came to me and asked to be trained, along with Goten and Trunks. Since then she has imparted all she can to Goten, Trunks, and even Gohan and Videl. I think she has ideas on how to change the future for the better," Chichi explained, her gaze lost in thought while looking at her daughter.
"Wow, I guess we are really lucky to have her," Goku said.
Chichi stared at Chiyo before leaning into Goku, "You better take care of our daughter Goku, I think she needs our support more than anyone."
"I will always be there for her, all of you in fact," Goku said.
"Before you go train let's tuck her into her bed so she can sleep longer," Chichi said.
Goku nodded and picked up his daughter in a princess carry. He smiled as her tail wrapped around his arm affectionately and she snuggled into his embrace, "Her tail is so soft Chichi!"
Chichi laughed, "It is, she said she shampoos it like her hair to keep it nice and soft!"
Chichi had also grabbed the photo Chiyo loved so much and brought it with them to her room. After Goku placed her in the bed and covered her with the blanket, Chichi placed the picture on her nightstand, the note still on it, she gave her daughter a kiss goodnight.
"Alright Goku, breakfast will be ready in an hour or so, I'll send one of the boys to get you from your training."
Goku kissed Chichi on the cheek, "Alrighty, thanks, honey! See ya later!"
I woke up in my huge bed as sunlight filtered through my window. I stretched out as wide as I could in my soft sheets and sat up with a yawn. Looking out of my window I could see the nearly cartoon-like vibrant world that we lived in and I had a strange sense of feeling refreshed.
It was a beautiful morning with nearly clear skies aside from some very beautiful and fluffy clouds. For some reason, the anxiety that plagued me last night was gone.
I felt, well I felt free. I heard a knock at my door and felt the presence of my little brother.
"Chiyo? Are you awake? Dad says you should come get breakfast!" Goten said, as his cute little face poked through my door.
"HEY! Come here you!" I ordered.
Goten looked nervous and slowly made his way in. The mini-version of my dad with the same cute orange gi was just too much to handle right now.
I had been able to keep my stern face on as he came closer and I scooped him up as soon as he got within reach, "I GOT YA!"
"Whoa!" He squeaked as I pulled him into my lap and began mercilessly tickling him until tears came out of his eyes.
"CHIYO STOOOOOP!" He said and finally turned into a Super Saiyan and flew out of my grip. He had his angry face on, and I countered with a devastating attack.
He was glaring at me until I deployed the puppy dog eyes in conjunction with a lower lip pout. Ooh, I could also drop my arms in defeat!
Goten was gonna chastise me until he saw my sad face, "Ch-Chiyo, are you okay?"
"My own brother doesn't even want to hug me anymore, it is truly a sad day," I said mournfully.
"What? That's not true!" Goten said.
I looked at him hopefully and held my arms out for a hug.
He dropped Super and flew over and gave me a big old hug. I didn't tickle him...this time. He flew downstairs after I waved the little guy out.
I made it down for breakfast after changing into a simple black gi with my sports underwear on underneath. For as muscular as my body was I was surprised that my boobs fit my frame so well. I hope they stay that way. I shook my head of my alien thoughts and made it down to breakfast.
"Thank you for breakfast, Mom!"
"No problem sweety, make sure you eat up!" Chichi said.
Four Saiyans went to work on a mountain of food Chichi had made. I know for a fact that Bulma has paid for cooks, but I feel like my mom just has them cook sides and acquire food. She has some crazy diet plan that seems to work perfectly for us Saiyans and I think she would be sad if she couldn't cook for us.
After about 10 minutes of eating, I felt Vegeta's angry energy signature move towards us and open the door to our house, "KAKAROT! You broke the gravity chamber again! I will make you pay for this if it's the-"
He was cut off as I had already made a plate for him and handed it to him, "Don't worry, after the ritual today you will be able to fight him! Now you should make sure you have your strength returned fully from yesterday."
"Tsch, Fine," He said and took the plate from me, "But we are doing this ritual RIGHT AFTER WE EAT!" Vegeta demanded.
I nodded and pointed to the chair at the far end of the table, "After breakfast."
The rest of the Saiyans laughed at my blatant manipulations, but food is a powerful weapon.
This time my dad was the anchor to the ritual and Gohan and I had put our spots next to Vegeta. I had made it clear that my dad shouldn't use any divine Ki at all and for him to just go Super Saiyan like the rest of us.
We started to charge the ritual pushing our energy into Vegeta, but something was wrong.
Like he wasn't accepting the power. "Why isn't it working?" Goku asked.
Gohan spoke up, "Yeah, it would have happened already when my dad was doing it, are we doing something wrong?"
"Stop for now!" I said loudly.
"There is a problem, but it isn't the process, I think it is the mindset," I said carefully.
Vegeta turned with his usual angry face, "What do you mean?"
"Maybe he's just a bad guy?" My dad said with his same non-caring voice. I stepped in before Vegeta exploded.
"It isn't that, or your ritual wouldn't have worked Dad. It is something else, something about your mindset that is holding you back Vegeta," I asked.
"Something that is holding him back... what could that be?" Gohan wondered out loud as he released the Super Saiyan transformation.
"Hmmm, is he still hungry?" Goten asked. I laughed a bit at that and Vegeta growled.
"No, it's something like...I don't know... a restricting emotion. The power wanted to go to you, but you wouldn't...I don't want to say let go, but maybe accept it?" I explained.
Vegeta's scowled slightly softened as he looked down to the ground. It almost looked like regret.
I waited a few seconds as he looked down, "Maybe try meditating on what it means to move beyond that and come back to us in an hour or two to try again."
He just slightly nodded and flew off.
"You know Chiyo, you really get how to handle Vegeta. What is the secret?" Goku asked with a smile.
"Well, it's more like I just say what needs to be set, no beating around the bush as it were," I said.
"Wow Chiyo, you really are incredible! " Trunks said.
I smirked at Trunks and gave him a wet willy. "Hey!"
"Alright Dad, time for you to show me that move you beat me with yesterday! I couldn't even see it!" I told him.
He rubbed the back of his neck with an awkward smile, "Ugh, I actually don't remember what happened! It was so fast!" He laughed nervously afterward and I just shook my head with a smile.
Vegeta flew off into the forests a good 200 miles away from West City and stood on a large boulder that had a clearing of its own. He stood still with his eyes closed reviewing the costs of moving forward.
It was his desire to continue pushing and unlock greater forms of power. Hell, it was his duty to do so, as the last member of Saiyan Royalty.
It was that same line of royalty that he not only took pride in but felt waves of guilt from as well. He had spent most of his younger life conquering planets and priming them for resale.
Saiyans under his father's rule had been no better than the tools of a tyrant. Tools of Freiza and his family. That was nothing to be proud of.
Talking to the brat, (Chiyo), had really opened his eyes to the problems to come in the future. Vegeta knew she didn't tell him everything she saw, but it was clear that she did see things.
How else could someone who had technically only lived for less than a year know about the God of Destruction, Lord Beerus? How could she know that they are in Universe 7, or the past of the Saiyans as a race?
More than just cultural knowledge, but some sort of spiritual knowledge.
The fact that Planet Sadala still exists in Universe 6 as a place where Saiyans lives to protect others sets the fire of excitement in Vegeta's chest. Saiyans living in a way that he thought was impossible was something that he HAD to see.
He knew exactly what Chiyo was talking about when she said an emotion that is restricting him from moving forward. Guilt was something that drove his anger for a long time now. Guilt has been the emotion that has been tearing him apart for years.
Why couldn't he just take pride in his family? Why couldn't he just accept that what he had done was in the past and that his current guilt was all that was preventing him from moving forward?
Well, the answer was simple, there was just too much guilt. It weighed him down like the 500x earth gravity he trained in inside the gravity room. Why should he ever deserve this life between his mate and him? How many families had he taken this opportunity from?
Vegeta stood in silence as these thoughts marinated in his brain. How the hell could he move past something that he lived with for so many years now?
His thoughts drifted to Kakarots brat, Chiyo. That damned girl was a seer and the things she knew...DAMNIT!
Vegeta slammed his fist into the ground causing the boulder to split as he angrily thought about the loss of Planet Vegeta, the possibility of finding Planet Sadala in Universe 6, and the impossibility of climbing the wall of guilt he felt.
Too many damn emotions for a Saiyan. If only he could fight his guilt...fight his guilt?
Now that is an interesting idea.
Nearly three hours of us relaxing was almost enough time for me to teach Gohan Instant Transmission. He was getting the hang of the locking-in on the vibrations of the target, but the transferring part was still not happening. Goku was getting hungry and Vegeta made it back just in time before my dad would have started to suggest that it was time to eat.
"Oh, hey Vegeta! Did ya figure out the problem?" Goku asked.
"Hmph," Vegeta just grunted but I made eye contact with him and searched for something that would tell me he was ready to go.
He just slightly nodded. That was enough.
"Great, let's get this done and you two can fight," I said while gesturing to my dad and Vegeta.
We set up the ritual again and channeled our power. I was across from Gohan as we pushed our Super Saiyan energy into Vegeta and this time the dam that blocked his ascension before was gone and the energy was accepted.
I don't know what mental hurdles Vegeta had to go through, but I am glad they worked out. We need all the power we can get.
We went through the ascension process and Vegeta hit the Super Saiyan Red that was fueled by divine ki. Vegeta grew taller and slimmer, as his form shifted from fully red light back into a whole body.
The transformation was just as dramatic and long as my Dad's was but when it was done, Vegeta spent more time examining his current state.
"Well Vegeta, How does it feel?" Goku asked finally breaking the ice.
Vegeta stepped back onto the ground and turned to face my dad with a smirk. "Alright Kakarot, let us see which one of us is stronger with Divine Ki!"
The fight lasted 30 minutes as the two Super Saiyan gods shook the planet. They had gone harder than the fight between Gohan and me vs my dad. It wasn't brutal necessarily, just an extended fight where both gave as much as they got out of the fight.
Both men had dropped to Super Saiyan as their bodies had adjusted to the power, but they had run out of divine Ki. They were still at a higher power level than either had been at before, but no longer was Divine Ki fueling the fight.
The two had gone so hard that they both were covered in cuts and bruises. My dad had a swollen ear and a busted lip while Vegeta's right eye was bruised and swollen shut.
Both had tears in their different training outfits, my dad's orange gi and Vegeta's sparring chest armor and blue undersuit looked as if they had been through hell and back. Did that stop them? Nope.
They rushed at each other again and clashed, AGAIN.
It just kept going until they both knocked each other out.
"Wow...well, that just happened," Gohan said.
"Yeah...no kidding."
I had strange dreams the night before Gohan's ascension. Weird mashups of my current memories and what I remembered from my last life. I slept the whole night but woke up sweaty, not remembering my dreams. I had an odd sort of melancholy as I sat up in my huge bed. I could tell it was another beautiful morning outside, so I tried to focus past my emotions and look out of the window. I had the comforter around me and I felt my hair go down my back.
I took a deep breath and reveled in the sensations I had never felt before: like this much soft and curly hair down my back and around my face, or my smooth Ki-shaved legs against the sheets, or even the air temperature against my skin. I could easily sense life for miles around me and that intake of feeling always brought about better emotions.
This had become a routine for me upon waking up. To start I would feel my first emotions of the day, whatever they were, then open my senses to the world to see what the day has to offer.
I would find all of my family and their prevailing emotions, for instance, today: My mom was cooking and my dad was pestering her for some food, both were happy and my mom's playful anger was only in jest.
Goten had stayed over at Trunks and the two were still sleeping like logs, Vegeta was training already and Bulma was drinking coffee with her Mom, all of them were content and relaxed.
18 and Krillin were playing with Marron who was laughing as she ran away from the two parents, and lastly, I felt the worried presence of my brother taking a shower.
I could tell that he was nervous through our bond and I tried to send him some love and encouragement. I felt a response but it was filled with worry and I could understand. Becoming anything resembling the word god is not something to just be taken lightly and I know my brother is a deeper thinker than most. He can be air headed in the moment, but his capacity for deep and critical thinking was beyond what I could imagine. He must be turning the ramifications of this over and over until it is just a ball of worry and anxiety.
I know Videl is coming over today to support Gohan, and that they had a long talk last night. I hope that my pushing him into this isn't hindering their relationship or anything, but I am worried that we won't have enough power without it. I feel guilty just thinking about it so I will ask him again if he wishes to go through with it today, but there is no doubt that we would be better off with the transformation.
I thought that just because I have the power of the Legendary Super Saiyan, I would be on Broly's level and be able to go toe to toe with my dad. It was clear that his fight with Vegeta was miles ahead of anything that he and I had achieved the day before, and my ability to tap into the Legendary Super Saiyan form was clearly limited. It obviously worked with my SS4 transformation, its influences seen in the color, but it also didn't work well with my temperament. I am curious to see just how much more powerful Super Saiyan God really is, and that starts with my brother.
It was time once again for the ritual and we were in the desert at our standard training grounds ready to go. We had the standard group of people as spectators which included the Kai's and the Z-fighters along with Videl. Bulma had also flown out so the non-fighters could once again watch the display. Seeing power is one thing, but feeling it explode in front of you, changing the weather and atmosphere was something else.
Goku and Vegeta had powered up and began to pour their energy into Gohan and it was quickly followed by the boys next to me. My own energy answered and rose along with the others like being swept in a wave. This ritual immediately felt different. Different from when my dad and Vegeta succeeded and even different from when Vegeta failed.
We vaguely made an oval in shape and the power flow was towards Gohan. However, the connection between Gohan and I was actually visible for the first time as the power was sent straight across the center of our oval into my chest. I gasped as the power took me by surprise.
"What is happening!?" Vegeta demanded as the resonating power continued to grow.
"This feels different, are you alright Chiyo?" Goten asked.
I couldn't answer as I was solely focused on the energy between me and my brother.
"Power, more power," I said feeling as if the channeled energy was draining now that both Gohan and I were attempting to ascend.
"More power?" Goku asked, "I guess we can do that, let's go Vegeta!"
"Don't tell me what to do, Kakarot!" Vegeta said before matching his power level increase to my fathers.
The bond increased and I felt my vision go blue as ki poured into us.
It felt like we just didn't have enough power to do what we needed. "Go Super Saiyan Red!" I yelled.
"Are you sure Chiyo? I don't know what that will do..." Goku asked.
"She's right! It needs more power! I can feel it," Gohan said over his shoulder.
"Do it Kakarot!" Vegeta yelled and they both accessed divine ki and switched into Super Saiyan Red.
At that moment I felt the ritual change, and it was strange reading this ki-powered ritual through the effects that it had on our energy. Power was no longer a problem in the ritual, even with the change in energy flow.
My vision went white and I felt my energy and mind expand. My brother was with me, but I realized that my energy was projecting so far that I didn't recognize the scale that I was sensing. The moment divine ki mixed with my own power source it felt like my energy was being overwritten by a larger pattern. Its scale was different entirely.
I felt my body change again and what little weight I felt from gravity couldn't take ahold of me. I could feel the air parting for my presence miles above me. I couldn't tell how long this took but my nerves were on fire as the process changed me. I felt so strange as those who had divine ki around us were resonating with us like beacons into the endless void of space.
Finally, the ritual settled down and I felt myself fully form and cool off. My skin was hot and the moment my energy calmed, the wind came crashing in and felt amazing against my skin and hair. I could feel FROM my hair. Interesting.
"Wow, you guys look great! I wasn't expecting you both to unlock a new form, but, strange that it's not Super Sayian Red," I could hear my dad's voice and how it was also infused with divine Ki. It was amazing how he could share his emotions through his words and I could choose to access them. I couldn't do this 10 minutes ago, so that is one more thing to add to the list of changes.
"I think it has something to do with being half-human," Gohan said.
I finally opened my eyes and realized that my dad and even Vegeta had smiles on their faces that matched my own. Something about divine ki is naturally peaceful and it fills you with an odd sense of euphoria. It isn't like being high, it's more along the lines of me feeling larger than life now.
It had to do with my presence and how my energy seemed to take up part of my consciousness. I could still process at super-human speeds and my thoughts were crisp and clear. I just felt this sense of being that had never been an aspect of anything I had ever been a part of. Almost like I was much larger than my body.
Gohan had the red hair and eyes of Super Saiyan Red or Super Saiyan God. His form had also slimmed down a bit, but it looked extremely powerful. His purple gi looked great in contrast to the red hair.
I spotted a red lock of my own leaning against my cheek and I inspected it with surprise, "I feel like gravity doesn't matter right now."
Gohan laughed, "Right? It's like we are standing in space instead of on the surface like we have our own gravity."
"Chiyo! Gohan! You guys look amazing!" Goten said tiredly from the ground.
I focused on the tired ball of Saiyan that was my little brother and flew down to give him a hug. Being able to focus on him let me brush off the overwhelming sensations and heightened senses that my transformed body feels, "Thanks, Goten."
"Haha, Chiyo, are you okay?" Goku asked.
"I am just fine. In fact, I think tomorrow, we defeat Majin Buu," I said as I stood with my little brother in my arms.
"Really? You don't want to spar now that you two have reached this level?" Shin asked, finally coming close enough to interact with us.
I turned to him with a nod, "I know what you mean...but this is way more powerful than I realized. You were holding back so much, weren't you Dad?"
He just laughed and rubbed the back of his neck.
