Chapter-08 - Moving Forward
I woke up in my room, back on Earth. It was strange once again waking up and not knowing how I got here. My last memory was of a firey hot rage and behind that foggy wall I had a strange sense of foreboding as I tried to piece together my last memories of the fight.
I remember Majin Buu's disgusting flesh trying to consume me and I got the chills down my back thinking of it. I sat up and looked down at my hands.
The hands of someone who...well it isn't confirmed yet, but I had the feeling that I had crossed a certain line in that last fight. Not a line of power, but one where I had used my hands and my power to kill something. A living being.
Sure, this being had both killed and eaten gods and would do the same to the entire planet and universe if given the chance. But that makes me a person who has killed people now.
I stared at my hands for what felt like hours. I was wearing an oversized shirt that was probably Gohans at some point and I could definitely smell him on it. My nose was so much more powerful in this body than in my last life. It's like I can obtain and understand so much more information about things just from the smell.
I went and took a shower and felt out for the Kis of my family, trying to keep mine hidden. Everyone was gathered out by the pool where we had a huge outdoor table and patio.
I guess everyone was eating, and I could sense the Supreme Kai. I felt my heart sink as I knew he would be disappointed in me, but it was his apprentice Kibito who would probably hate me for not saving the Grand Supreme Kai. I stopped searching for ki and changed into a comfortable gi with billowing pants no shoes and a short top.
I gathered my strength and walked out of our house and into the pool area where everyone turned to look at me...with smiles?
How could that be? Shouldn't they be disgusted with me and my failed plans?
I saw Shin and Kibito start walking toward me and I looked down to the ground as my eyes clouded over with tears, "Did I kill him?"
My words were quiet but everyone heard them and I felt my dad use Instant Transmission to appear behind me. He immediately wrapped me in a huge hug, "Hey there Chiyo! You did what you had to do and not a single one of us is mad at you for doing so. Buu would have devoured you if you didn't do what you did, right?"
I nodded and tears flowed, "I remember what it felt like when his ki disappeared...but I didn't stop. I don't know why..." I choked out between sobs.
"It's alright Chiyo, you did great," My dad comforted in one of the softest voices he had ever used.
Then Shin spoke up, "Please don't be sad Chiyo, Majin Buu would have not only consumed you but the Universe if he wished to. You did an amazing thing yesterday."
"Yesterday?" I asked and he nodded.
"Indeed, it seems that you used up quite a bit of your energy. We healed you but...well you are here now," Shin said with a smile.
I then looked slowly at Kibito who stepped closer to me. His severe face held no animosity, and instead held compassion and maybe relief or something like that, "Chiyo, we were able to speak with...well, let's just say the right people and you were successful in releasing the Grand Supreme Kai's spirit to the Other World now."
I opened my eyes in shock, "It...worked?"
He put a hand on my shoulder and nodded, "You did great in ridding the Universe of a massive threat while helping a great Kai rest easy."
"But...I killed Majin Buu?" I said.
"Tsch, brat. Of course, you did, because you cheated!" Vegeta said with his standard anger.
"What?" I asked.
My dad laughed and rubbed the back of his neck, "Well you did use divine Ki, even if you didn't fully transform."
My head rocked back in shock for a second, "Wait, what about it?"
"Do you think we are stupid?! You clearly told us to not use Divine Ki for the only reason that you wanted the credit yourself! AM I WRONG?" Vegeta asked with a devious smirk as if he just proved something amazing.
"I don't care about credit, you can have it," I said flatly.
"WHAT?! Like I would accept that!?" Vegeta raged.
"Well, I am just glad you are alright sweetie. My daughter shouldn't have to go to these measures, I thought you went through all this training for a reason Goku!?" Chichi's rant just began as she fussed over me. I loved the motherly attention, to be honest, she is an amazing mother.
I had a bit less guilt on my chest with the forgiveness of the Kai's, but I didn't let Innocent Buu live due to my in-action. Events went out of control and so did my emotions, and the good side of Buu failed to live, "I hope Majin Buu can come back as a better person," I said quietly.
Goku looked at me with a smile, "Hey that's what I said!" We sat down and ate some amazing barbecue food and had a relaxing celebration.
After the Kai's had left, we had a day where my mom, dad, and Goten all were relaxing on the couches. Goku had his head in my mom's lap and I had Goten curled up with me on my own couch and he was out like a light. I was sort of watching TV and also spacing out while playing with my tail as I realized that I recognized what was on the TV.
"Mom! Turn the TV up please!" I said and she did so as the news anchor was narrating over clips of Gohan and me fighting at the last stage of the WMAT.
"...Prince and Princess of the Fire Mountain Kingdom. Some of the only remaining territory that is not part of the Dragon World government under King Furry. The two members of the royal family showcased unusual abilities not seen since the Cell Games and the Princess, one Son Chiyo is officially the 25th World Martial Arts Champion, having beaten out Mr. Satan along the way."
"I didn't fight Mr. Satan...he was out in the first round. Mom, are you a princess?" I asked, and it took me a minute to realize that the world was actually known as the Dragon World but is also called Earth and its people the Earthlings. The full name of the worldwide government is The Dragon World Government even though it was a monarchy. It was strange.
She actually laughed, "Well, technically, yes. But, your grandfather hasn't had much money since everything burned down and it's only a small village now. That being said, it is still technically a kingdom that he is the ruler of," Chichi explained.
"Now that is interesting," I said as the news anchor went on to describe how that was the only fight to have been recorded and how the world was apparently losing its mind trying to figure out more about me. Did I just become famous? Great.
That night I went out again and did my healing at the hospitals around West City. There was apparently a build-up over the last week since I had been training so hard that people were getting non-ki-based healing as the only option. Granted, the medical technology of this world was something special, but healing with an energy source or Senzu Bean will always be more effective.
I healed everyone in the large room and felt one presence awaken as her little heartbeat ramped up when she saw me. I walked over to the little girl who was laying in a bed. I had a hood up and covered most of my body, but the green aura of healing Ki was definitely noticed by her. Her eyes opened and she looked at me in shock. I put my finger to my lips, "Ssshhhh, do you feel alright?" I asked her quietly.
She nodded, "I was sick, but...I feel okay now." I smiled at her and she looked relieved. I brushed her hair out of her face while delivering some more healing energy through my fingers.
"Sleep well little one, you will be better soon," I tucked her in and walked away with a smile. I still have loads of guilt at what happened with Buu, but at least I can help people who could have fallen victim to him. How many people would have died if we let him rampage through the world or the universe?
The next day I decided that I wanted a Saiyan-proof cell phone, so I went to Bulma for that and she was able to get one and set up a plan for me, made out of strong metal's that she used with the construction of gravity chambers.
Capsule Corp had a wristwatch version that can change back and forth from a Capsule to a wristwatch, to a normal cell phone and I absolutely loved that.
This also allowed me to talk to her about working with her at Capsule Corp. The Ki-technology that Babidi had in his spaceship was just a wasted resource if we did nothing with it.
She had already drawn up a contract that had a ridiculously high salary on it, I looked up at her at that and she shrugged. There were also provisions for percentage royalties on any and all inventions I was a part of, including our future spaceship.
I was excited to begin working with her and see if I could reverse engineer that spaceship. I would start in a couple days and I needed to get some working clothes for that.
Speaking of clothing, I had a few ideas that I needed to put into motion, and that would require some shopping. My entire wardrobe cannot consist of gis and reinforced sports bras. My next stop was to Instant Transmission to my brother...who was currently in the process of eating lunch with Videl and her friends.
"Oh...Hello!" I said nervously as I casually flew down and landed on the ground...away from the table.
Gohan looked around at the wide-eyed people at his table until Videl just shook her head, "Hey Chiyo, what are you up to?"
"Hey, Brother! Videl! Hello! I was hoping you might know a good place to go shopping? I need to get some clothes and also a more formal dress for, well, I just need to get it," I explained.
Gohan immediately looked at me suspiciously, "You wouldn't happen to be going out on a date, would you Chiyo?"
"Honestly, no, but we also need to get you a set of formal clothing as well, like a nice suit, so maybe we can go do that today?" I asked Gohan hopefully.
"Wait, why does Gohan need a suit?" Videl asked curiously.
"Actually, I was hoping to talk to both of you about that at some point today. But what do you think about shopping? Are you guys busy today?"
"So, Gohan, who is this? She's pretty hot!" A blonde guy asked, "Is she your sister?"
I looked at him with my eyebrow raised, "Uh, yes I am Gohan's twin sister, so what?"
"Haha, nothing babe. I was just thinking you should come have a seat over here," Indicating the spot next to him.
I looked at Gohan with an eyebrow raised, but he was giving the blonde guy the evil eye.
"Shut up Sharpner, you couldn't handle a girl like Chiyo. She is the winner of the World Martial Arts Tournament," Videl said with a smirk, drawing a laugh from the pretty blonde girl next to her.
"Don't worry about him, Chiyo, he just has self-esteem issues," The blond girl said.
The girls laughed and I chuckled a bit, "I see, and who are you?"
"I am Erasa, gosh, you have such great hair Chiyo! It is great to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you also, Erasa. Do you know a good place to shop for clothes?" I asked.
"Oh you poor, girl, you have no idea who you just asked about clothes," Videl said sympathetically.
Erasa looked like she was going to explode with excitement, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME, VIDEL!? Both Gohan and Chiyo are so cute! I know just the places we need to go shopping! Oooh, yes!"
My eyes widened in horror at the situation. "Uh oh...what have I done?"
Gohan laughed nervously, "You really need me to come along sis?"
"Yup! I need you in an amazing suit, I am thinking black with white pinstripes," I said while eyeing my brother critically. He could look really good in a solid suit, but not as flashy as something Mr. Satan would wear.
Gohan looked helpless while Videl looked like she wanted to see it.
We spent the afternoon shopping and I like it just about as much as my brother does. We, of course, got him a suit like I wanted but the pinstripes were gold and the black dress shirt with gold tie really looked great on him. I paid for it as I had a bunch of money from winning the WMAT, so it wasn't a problem.
I also got a few sets of clothing, an amazing pair of jeans that showed my butt off, according to Erasa. I also got a little black dress that I felt was too short and also too tight, but Erasa convinced me with that one as well.
I also got a long dress that was more elegant and that flowed over my frame really nicely. I loved it, and I got a matching pair of rounded, open-toed stilettos that look great with almost all of the items I got.
The best item I got by far though was a black jacket that would be at home in some cyberpunk city. It was black with gold and white lines on it. It had a tall collar and sleeves that stopped at the elbow. My favorite part though was that it didn't cover my midriff and it was soo comfortable to wear, allowing full movement even though it was a jacket. On the back of it was the word 'dragon,' like something that belongs in a Street Fighter game, and I bought it immediately.
I had put all of my and Gohan's purchases in a Capsule and pocketed it. We had made it to Videl's house where we were going to speak with her father, and that was where I promised to tell them what I wanted.
I could feel that Gohan was nervous about making a good impression, on Hercule but also wasn't scared in the slightest of the man. I had only met him at the end of the WMAT when he and Videl handed me the prize money, and it was a lot to deal with but he didn't seem like a bad person. The fact that he was a public liar only helped my goals to be honest. Either way though, Videl led Gohan and me into their massive mansion until we found Hercule watching some old fights in a massive theater room.
It took us nearly 30 minutes to get him to calm down once he found out Gohan and Videl were dating, the man displayed more emotions than most people could even feel and he cycled through them like they were disposable. Eventually, though, he sat all three of us down as I explained my plans to him.
In the end, the outstanding guilt he had felt for lying to the world was something that had plagued him for a long time. I wanted to continue the lie, but just include that Gohan and my Dad were the ones to finally finish Cell off, not diminishing his involvement but highlighting more. He was in agreement with that but then wasn't sure what else I wanted out of it.
I told him that I wanted to put together an interview about the 25th WMAT, the Cell Games, and the Fire Kingdom. Hercule wasn't really sure why I wanted to do this stuff, but when I said that we would teach him to use Ki in exchange for doing this he was shocked, to say the least. Even Videl looked at me with wide eyes as if judging my seriousness.
Videl was the savior for my arguments, "Don't worry Daddy, I will show you the ropes!" She turned to me, "Still, though why do you want to come out about the Cell games? Why not give full credit to Gohan and your dad?"
"I don't want to discredit Hercule, taking away his credit in the eyes of the people won't help. Claiming that he was in on it from the start to shield us from the public implies that we have his full trust and that the next generation is coming to power," I explained as I turned to the surprisingly quiet Hercule.
"Your daughter and her boyfriend went farther than you in the WMAT, that is not something to be embarrassed by, just the opposite. You can take pride in the fact that you have raised a daughter worthy of carrying your inheritance as a martial artist, and that she might end up with someone who has literally saved the world. We might become family through my brother and Videl one day, and if that happens, then I want to empower our family, not put them down."
Videl and Gohan were as red as tomatoes with embarrassment, but I could also tell that she was touched by me not wanting to distance her father.
At the end of our talk, Hercule agreed to all my terms and even thanked me for ensuring that Videl was alright during the events at the tournament. Hercule had made some phone calls and it made headlines in literal minutes, that there was some big announcement from the old champ and the new one.
The interview was set up for the next week when the Prince and Princess of the Fire Mountain Kingdom would be officially showcased to the world. Now I just need to talk to the Ox King. Or I guess I could just call him Grandpa. For this though, I met with my mother and we planned a trip to visit his village the next day. Goten and Gohan were coming, but Goku was training with Vegeta.
Apparently, my lack of interest in fighting since the Buu incident the other day hasn't rubbed off on my dad or Vegeta. That really shouldn't be surprising, but here I am losing sleep after killing that monster and those two couldn't wait to fight again. They are definitely Saiyans.
We flew out to the Ox King's village and my mom, Goten, and I was on Nimbus as Gohan flew next to us. I got a good picture of us 4 before we left, courtesy of Trunks who waved us away as we flew in the mid-morning sun. I just couldn't get enough of relaxing on Nimbus and having my brother and mom was just a plus.
The sentient cloud was so soft and amazing. It just seemed to love our family and I will be honest that tears freely flowed from my eyes when I was able to sit on Nimbus again after killing Buu. I had honestly thought I lost my chance to do so after killing someone, but apparently, that wasn't a problem. My mother and Goten hugged me fiercely for a good while as I cried and pet Nimbus. I am just so emotional these days, it is a lot to manage.
We finally arrived at the 'Fire Mountain Kingdom' which is actually just a small village that is nice and cozy. The people were absolutely lovely and they had smiles and waves for us as we landed. Chichi was immediately recognized and people were very happy to see her back in the Fire Mountain Village.
Finally, the lumbering form of my Grandfather came walking out with his trademark smile and his standard horned crown, "OH my! If it isn't my favorite daughter and my favorite Grandchildren!"
"But Grandpa, we are your only grandchildren!" Goten said.
"Hahahaha," Ox King laughed with the force of a mountain.
I walked up to him, I had met him once, but it was just a quick greeting at the WMAT. With everything that happened that day, it wasn't surprising that my mind was in the clouds when I met him. This time though I re-introduced myself and hugged the man...which ended with me nearly being smushed by the most amazing bear hug I have ever received.
"Grandpa! You are crushing Chiyo!" Goten said with worry.
"Hahahaha," The huge man laughed.
We had all gone to the Ox King's house, which was a rather small thing but he was explaining how he was rebuilding his castle and that it would be a few more years until it was finished again. When we sat down to each lunch I brought up the topic I needed to talk about.
"Grandpa, soon here, our family will be getting a lot of press, and...well I was just wondering if you were ready to handle reporters coming here."
"Hmmm, what makes you say that Chiyo?" The way he said my name was hilarious and I smiled at that, the Chi was just like with Chichi, but the yo was a growl more than pronounced words, (CHEEE-OHH).
"Well, I was watching the news the other day, and Gohan and my fight got aired over the world. Apparently, there are a lot of questions about one of the only remaining countries that are not a part of Global Politics. The problem is that my fight with my brother immediately brought up concerns about the power of the Fire Mountain Kingdom, and if we represent a potential problem for the rest of the world," I explained.
"Essentially, we just became a threat to the greater world in their eyes, by that fight coming out, regardless of how often we have saved it," Gohan explained, his recent political study having paid off I suppose.
"A threat? Don't they know our family has helped to save this world!? What about the Cell Games?" Ox King asked, now standing in anger.
"Most of the world believes that Cell was beaten by Hercule, not Gohan and my dad. That being said, we have an interview where Hercule will be explaining to the world that Gohan and Goku played the largest part in the destruction of Cell. That would also help to explain how we beat Hercule in the World Martial Arts Tournament. It would give us an excuse as to why we never entered the public eye until now, wanting to stay out of the spotlights," I explained.
The Ox King sat in thought for a while before speaking, "Well, do you have any idea about what to do?"
I shrugged, "It will probably be press at first, reporters and such trying to get information about Gohan and me. The important part will be when you receive word from King Furry and his people."
"King Furry? He is the president of the rest of the world!" Goten said excitedly, I had told him that the other day and he was blown away.
"That's right buddy, pretty wild huh?" Gohan asked.
"So, what do I do?" Ox King asked, definitely worried about the situation.
"Well, that part is easy. See what King Furry says, then accept the meeting he will most likely ask for. He will probably ask about Gohan and me, just indicate that we are willing and able to speak to him," I explained.
He still seemed nervous so I spoke again, "Don't worry Grandpa, they aren't going to try to take your Kingdom, more like just have it become part of the world, it will be the next step for our planet, being fully united. You will still be the monarch of this territory and they will not be able to remove you with us in your family."
"You know Chiyo, you might be new to the family, but we sure are lucky to have you! HAHAHA!" Ox King said as he pulled me into another hug.
We enjoyed our meal and kept the topics away from politics for the rest of the time. We had spent a wonderful day in Fire Mountain Village and my plans took another step forward.
I had pulled Gohan into the desert for a training session. I wanted to finish teaching him Instant Transmission and it was time that I made another step toward mastering Super Saiyan 4 instead of Legendary Super Saiyan. I would rage have cold calculation than unending berserker rage.
"So, you just...want to be there?" Gohan asked.
"You gotta match the vibration or wavelength of the target's Ki first Gohan, then you 'will' your Ki and everyone within it, to go there," I explained.
"The frequency or something huh? I think I got it-" Gohan vanished with the sound of Ki becoming light.
I laughed and waited for him to come back from bugging Piccolo, I was surprised when he brought back Piccolo with him, "Welcome back, hello Piccolo, how are you?" I asked, standing up to greet them.
He grunted and nodded his head, "Was surprised by Gohan's teleport and it sounded like you two were going to train, thought I would join in."
Gohan was rubbing the back of his neck with embarrassment, "Yeah, sorry Chiyo, hope it's alright."
"No problem, I need another punchi- I mean sparing partner anyways," I said with a smirk to Piccolo.
Gohan gulped.
"Just kidding, I would love any help you can offer, I am trying to figure out Super Saiyan 4, it feels like I am missing something," I said.
"How so?" Piccolo asked.
I frowned in thought, going back to before I lost control while in my Legendary Form, to when I was able to power up to Super while in the Oozaru form, originally the Oozaru was its own form of endless rage. So why does it change so much when going super?
"Well, it almost seems to contradict itself, like...as a great ape I feel almost nothing but rage. In the smaller condensed form, it's almost like my mind is sharper, but the predatory instincts are more intense? I am not sure."
"Hmm, can you get into the form now without the moonlight?" Piccolo asked.
"I was hoping to try, the whole 'having to switch to a giant ape every time' would be pretty inconvenient," I said, then stood up. "I'll give it a shot."
Instead of reaching for emotion or pulling power into my back, I focused on trying to access that strange mental space, where I could almost interact with my different sources of power. I felt like that was the key to moving forward.
I stood in silence for nearly 5 minutes, Piccolo and Gohan must have been patiently waiting while I was trying to focus internally. I grew frustrated as nothing really happened.
"Stop, you are trying to meditate but you can't calm down, does that sound about right?"
I sighed, "Yeah when I first went into the Oozaru form... I saw something...a mind space where my different sources of power were represented by some form of power, I figured I would try to find that again."
Piccolo nodded, "First let me teach you how to meditate properly," he looked to Gohan, "You should have already told her!"
Gohan yelped, "Uhhh, sorry! Chiyo never liked meditating so I didn't push it."
"Yeah...sorry, I am willing to learn now since I don't have a choice," I said awkwardly.
Piccolo began to tell me the different aspects to focus on, breathing, cycling Ki, maintaining my control over wandering thoughts, and relaxing while focusing. It took a long and painful hour until anything happened.
I grew frustrated and started over, falling into the steps to enter meditation and I found myself sitting in the same dark place when I saw my sources.
My mindscape.
Opening my eyes I looked around and I found most of the sources just looking at me expectantly. The distance between me and each one varied but I could tell that it also had to do with my connection to them, instead of the potential power.
There was another titan here this time, but I could also tell that something wasn't right. On the left were my Saiyan sources, the golden flames of the Super Saiyan, which felt closest to me as if it represented my father's bloodline. The moment that thought was processed the golden flames moved closer to me like I just understood something more fundamental about it.
The Oozaru form, a huge black ape with glowing red eyes was to the left of the golden flames, almost as if it was connected to the Golden Flame. It was also tied to my saiyan bloodline.
Then there was the Legendary Super Saiyan, a titan as tall as the Oozaru, appearing as a green flame elemental. It was discordant and hazy, the farthest of the sources. I didn't have good feelings while looking at it again, the guilt in how I acquired it while out of my mind, and how I killed my first being while lost in the rage of that form was enough for me to resent it. It was not tied to my bloodline directly but was still on my Saiyan side.
Behind all of the Saiyan Sources was another, a feminine Saiyan that vaguely looked like the golden flame avatar, like a higher form of it. The flames were the dark red of a Super Saiyan God transformation, brimming with divine Ki.
It was so large as it took the entire background to everything in my vision and it was very different from the mortal versions. Focusing on the red Saiyan I felt peace and a one-ness to everything, almost a serenity in its presence. It was larger than I was as a mortal being yet it was me as well.
Turning my attention to the other two sources, these two on my Human side, one red and the other silvery-white. Looking at that silvery one I was shocked to find that it was my Healing Power. That was odd for a couple reasons, one being that I had been using it as if it was just another technique for manipulating Ki like a Kamehameha wave instead of a transformation like a saiyan form. The second was that it came with a full source of power that somehow relates to being half-human, or somehow was tied to it.
Calling these different figures in my mind 'sources' might not be the right word, it's like as a half-Saiyan they represent the basis that enables my transformations, under the umbrella of being a half-Saiyan.
I saw that the healing source that I was calling Silver Healing now for some reason, felt more like an addition from an external source. I focused on it, as it looked humanoid but the eyes, while closed, were drawing my attention.
I focused on them and was taken by surprise by an image of Shenron flashing through my mind...this wasn't just a source, it was a blessing from the Eternal Dragon Shenron! I gulped at that and realized that it was situated in a way that was tied to the other human source, a being of red flames. Clearly smaller and less potent than the Super Saiyan Red, and tied to my mother's bloodline somehow. I shook my head as being in this realm was starting to give me a headache and I looked over to my Oozaru form.
I reached out for the Oozaru and it embraced my grasp. I felt the primal rage that came with the Oozaru and noted that it was different from the reckless fury that the Legendary Form had.
That difference was key for me, and I felt my body grow a bit in size as I left my mind space, I pushed forward past the urge to turn into a great ape and forced the condensed Super Saiyan 4 version. It took less time to stabilize my energy at a comfortable level, having to power up higher than I thought I would. The power was much higher than I was expecting, and no divine Ki or the taint of the Legendary Super Saiyan could be sensed.
This was the first time I had powered up since the Buu fight and the difference in forms felt good, it also felt slightly different, "There, it worked," I opened my eyes as I said that and was surprised to see that a crater had formed around me as the power fully came into being.
"Whoa, sorry," I said, as Piccolo and Gohan were shielding themself from the waves of wind and dust that were blasting off from me.
"Yeah sis, no worries," Gohan laughed. "Seems stronger!"
"Well, how does it feel?" Piccolo asked.
I looked down at my hands, feeling the energy within me, "Different, still predatory, but not overwhelming fury by any means, like the base Oozaru form," I explained, my voice changed a little and was deeper and slightly growling.
"I think I figured something out Chiyo! Last time you had a bunch of green on you like part of the Legendary Super Saiyan form was leaking in, now you don't have any... I think you were able to solely access the Super Saiyan 4 form this time!"
I nodded at that, "Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, do I look different?"
"Yeah, you have a black ring around your eyes, it almost looks like eyeliner, and your aura doesn't have any green in it anymore, just the white and touches of silver," Gohan explained.
"Have either of you seen a 'mind space' where you can see different sources of your power?" I asked.
"Like during meditation?" Gohan asked.
"Yes, I was in my head after finally calming down enough to meditate and...well I ended up in a strange place that had different glowing forms around me," I explained.
Piccolo shook his head, "You know Gohan if you were as talented as Chiyo at meditation you would be a lot further along as well!" Gohan looked offended but I could feel he wasn't through our bond.
Piccolo turned to me, "That is a good description of it, I have heard it called a Spirit Realm quite often. I guess as a half-breed with crazy parents, it's quite crowded in there isn't it?"
"Yeah...there are representations of my Saiyan transformations and a few things that seem tied to being a human."
He nodded, "Good, you should try to access that space often it will enable you to change forms quicker and strengthen your spirit."
"I see..."
"What?" Piccolo asked.
"I just...well I think I need to handle something soon," I trailed off and thought about the discordant connection to the Legendary Super Saiyan. I am wasting it like this...
Gohan and I landed at Hercule and Videl's giant mansion for the interview. Videl answered the door and she looked great wearing a blue dress she got when we went shopping. It had black and white trim with black heels. Gohan was stuttering when he saw her and his face turned red.
Of course, she was also blushing when she saw my brother in his suit. I made sure she wasn't there when we purchased it so she would get the first impression while it was on him and my brother definitely looked handsome today. I got a bunch of pictures of Gohan and myself for my collection on my phone. I would get some pictures of Videl and Gohan later as well.
"Wow, Videl...you look great!" Gohan said, barely keeping his jaw from dropping.
I nudged him, "Give her a hug Gohan!"
"W-w-what? A hug?"
I shoved him forward and he took a step towards her, Videl just smiled and went in for a hug. Oh man, I really ship these two, it's crazy how much my opinion of Videl changed just by her being there for my brother. Ever since the WMAT she has been a much different person and I can start to look at her as my future sister-in-law.
"You look great Chiyo! That dress is perfect on you!" Videl said and she actually came and gave me a hug which I returned with a smile. The dress I wore was definitely something worthy of a Princess. It was a beautiful evening gown with a slit up my left leg and left the back open to the wind. I had my hair in a more elegant pony tail, courtesy of my mother and the black and silver dress with my silver earrings, necklace and bracelet all worked together. I was building an image and this would be the first impression.
"You do as well if my brother's expression is anything to go by," I said with a smile. Gohan was still beet red and my comment didn't help.
Videl led us into a sitting room where Hercule was already speaking with the people who were ready to interview us. They had four chairs set up in a line with one for an interviewer.
"Hey, Dad! The twins are here!"
"Huh? Oh great! Gohan and Chiyo! Great to have you here!" Hercule said. I couldn't help but chuckle. The guy had a fully golden suit with purple pinstripes and a purple undershirt with white shoes and a golden tie.
Say what you will about Hercule, the dude was great at being ridiculous.
"Alright you two, this here is Carla Baker! She will be the one interviewing us, as she has been my go-to reporter over the years," Hercule explained in his normal talking voice, which definitely wasn't as loud as yelling.
"It is wonderful to meet you both, I am honored. What Hercule has told us so far has been incredible!" Carla said.
Gohan rubbed the back of his head nervously with an awkward laugh. I shook Carla's hand, "Yes, it is quite an incredible story. Mr. Satan, Gohan, and my Father, Goku are all amazing. Without their power, our world could have been destroyed."
The journalist nodded gravely.
After introductions, we spoke for a while on the narrative and I made sure that she would ask the right questions. I was worried that she would be asking too many fan girl questions instead of the ones I need to be answered.
In the end, though I got all the points I wanted across:
- Hercule helped Goku and Gohan destroy Cell, who could have destroyed the human race.
- I did not help since I didn't know how to fight, only started training after the Cell Games, Gohan is just special.
- Gohan and I fought in the 25th WMAT, which I was lucky to win.
- Our abilities are rare and take many years to learn, but they are very real.
- Hercule had been lying to the world about us to keep us from the spotlight, by our request.
- Gohan and I are technically the prince and princess of the Fire Mountain Kingdom, though we actually live in West City, and we don't speak for the Ox King at the moment.
- We decided to finally face the spotlight now that we are almost legal adults, part of that was the WMAT and other parts involve going out into the world. For Gohan, that meant going to school and experiencing some normality. For me, that means continued training in my martial arts and starting work at Capsule Corp.
We made it through all of those points in the interview until things got away from me.
"So, Videl, as the daughter of the great Hercule, I have heard that you assist police, rescuers, and other emergency services in saving people from all sorts of situations..." Carla prompted.
"That's right, and recently I have joined in my efforts by one known as the Golden Fighter. Of course, it is quite obvious who that is now isn't it?" Videl said with a smile at Gohan.
Gohan blushed, "Haha, yeah, well I can't be everywhere...especially at night. Right, Chiyo? Or should I say...The Twilight Healer!"
"W-w-what? No, I don't know-"
"It's alright Chiyo, but we do have proof. It seems that you let your hood slip the other day and we actually have a video of you healing a little girl." She gestured to the TV they set up behind us for the News logo, but to my surprise a video of me leaning down and healing the little girl with my usual hood pulled back far enough to see my face while the Ki lit up the room. It was clear as day.
"Sleep well little one, you will be better soon," The video version of me said, I was surprised by how soft my voice sounded as it was clear as day. This was the first time I had heard my own voice through another medium, even if I was whispering. It was a strange feeling, but I was still in shock as they turned their attention back to me.
"So, we finally caught you off guard," Videl said with an evil smirk, "First time for everything, huh Chiyo?"
I was so shocked I couldn't speak.
"I don't think I have ever seen my sister speechless," Gohan said smiling.
"You two will pay for this of course," I said with an evil smile of my own.
The interview continued into the fan girl stuff that we all went along with begrudgingly. Videl and Hercule were of course pros at this part and they kept the conversation light.
The interview ended with a question about what we wanted for the planet in the future.
Hercule spoke up, "Hmmm, well I would like to see the world get stronger! We all need to be able to protect those we care about, that starts with having the strength to do so!"
Videl spoke up next, "Hey, that's nice Dad. I would like to see a more peaceful world, there can be a lot of senseless violence in this world, and there is no reason for it. I will continue my efforts with the Golden Fighter to see that happen."
Gohan smiled at her with dreamy eyes before he spoke, "Uhh, I also like the idea of a more peaceful society. When the Red Ribbon Army created and released Cell, I thought the world would never know peace again. But here we have lived in peace for years since then, moving forward I would just like to see more of a dedication to education and self-improvement."
"Well said Gohan, and lastly what do you think Chiyo?" Carla asked.
"There are many things I want for the future of all of the races on Earth. I plan on working with Capsule Corp to work towards advancing technology for all of us. I would also like to start a security force for external threats to our planet."
I don't think she wanted to speak on the external threats so much and I was happy to talk about the organization I wanted to create. To make the Z-Fighters into a public organization instead of just our family and friends is my goal. Eventually, we can become something greater and I just need to find the right people to fill in my organization. They won't be on the higher end of power, but having more numbers is a great help.
The interview ended and we stayed at Hercules for dinner that evening. It was a fun night listening to the previous Champ's stories, and dining on delicious food, while dressed in beautiful clothes.
It was a strange thing, but I finally found myself having a great time in the company of my Videl and Hercule.
