Chapter 17 - Destruction
Destruction.
What a simple idea. What a simple concept. I used to think that I understood what it meant to destroy things, to see and feel things being destroyed as my ki tore through whatever it was.
I thought I understood what it meant while wielding golden lightning that cuts through rock as easily as air. I thought I knew destruction.
I destroyed Majin Buu...didn't I?
I was wrong.
Destruction was Beerus, his indomitable will, divine ki, and the perfect knowledge that ANYTHING, can be destroyed, if only he had the desire for it to be so.
I thought I was ready for it, but what I thought didn't matter.
His orb of purple and black energy impacted my hands, my meagher effort at trying to put up a defense. I had used so much energy to summon and wield my sword, my weapon against Moro the World Eater, but now...all of it was gone.
I watched in slow motion as his Hakai Sphere touched my energy.
It wasn't like Zen-Fire, burning away Ki at the cost of mine, but instead was destroying the energy fundamentally. I felt parts of my energy just disappear.
His will was so strong, pushing this orb at me with no obvious strain.
The only thing I can do is respond in kind.
I am a Saiyan. I am a Human. I am a Goddess.
Two paths that both lead to divine power and I had to believe in my power and abilities. I had to transcend my limits and go beyond.
I let out a roar that contained all that I could muster, the very idea of my existence and place in this life serving as a beacon for my energy to rally behind.
The orb was tearing away my aura, dissolving it before my very eyes, and was ready to start on my hands.
My spirit called out and power from deep within my soul answered my call, energy surged from within me and pushed back against the orb. I tried to surround it, to capture it.
My energy just got destroyed. I pushed harder, the ball didn't care. It impacted my skin and I tried to task my energy to heal my hands.
I then focused on a replenishing barrier as I continued to pull energy as fast as it would come and something changed.
It was like my spirit began to push out, becoming more than just some squishy thing trapped in a body. It changed my sight somehow. I looked deep into the ball of destruction with new eyes and saw the different aspects making up its structure.
The blueprints to a Hakai Sphere. It wasn't exactly what I thought it was, but there were more or less three aspects to it.
The Will of a Destroyer. This was Beerus's influence and will that governed the entire sphere.
The power of Divine Ki that he put into the sphere, made up most of its mass. This was pure Divine Ki from a fully realized Divine being. Beerus has been a god for hundreds of millions of years and it shows in the purity and power he can put into such an orb.
The last aspect was the touch of our universe that has named him the destroyer. I wasn't sure how that worked exactly, but it seemed that he is an integral part of how Universe 7's energy flowed and that worked as a sort of 'stamp' on his power. I couldn't begin to unpack this or even the further implications of it. I just sort of 'read the title' so to speak.
Now comes the hard part, trying to destabilize or control this destruction orb.
I glanced up at Beerus who was watching me curiously and I looked back down at my work. It was still a surreal experience, a god of destruction standing before me with the urge to destroy me.
I had to challenge his authority over this ball of destruction...but I had no idea how to do that.
How do I challenge someone many times my power level for their own Ki?
Then I realized something interesting, my Spiritual Control mattered here. It had to be the only sliver of a chance at survival that I had.
I had pushed my being beyond the limits, using everything I had, and even reached beyond my physical body as my spirit reached out. It's a long shot but...pushing my spirit out to grab the orb and finish it by pulling it within.
I did just that once again, forcing my spirit to pull on the orb, causing it to fly through my hands and into my chest. I didn't feel the impact, almost like there wasn't one.
I sort of blacked out as I looked around when I came to, I realized that I was in my Spirit Space.
There used to be a few beings standing in this space- some saiyan, some human. It looked different now.
Two beings looked more like doorways to paths leading to a larger and more divine version of each. The one on the left, suspended in this space-like place was saiyan shaped, while the right side had a human shape, but both were representations instead of specifically detailed.
There was something else as well...
I turned behind me where I felt something growing as if coming towards me from a great distance. It wasn't a being, but rather a massive purple sphere with orbiting gyroscopic rings. It kept coming forward as if it was a cannonball shot from an old ship.
I put two hands out, they weren't hands but my spiritual will coalesced into that shape. Massive copies of my two pathways seemed to form into defense as well, two more arms coming up on either side of me, like vast Ki-based titans. Spiritual protectors even.
All too fast, the destructive sphere impacted my pathways and framework within my spiritual space.
I had to consume the orb and make it a part of me...or it would destroy me from the inside.
My mind summoned a platform that I could capture this orb, a representation of the lengths I had to go to somehow control it. A pedestal rose from the silvery platform and on it a metal orb of gyroscopic rings formed. It was many times smaller than the orb my pathways were desperately holding onto though.
Needing to condense and implant this Ki orb didn't make it any easier, only showing a way forward. I forced the spiritual paths to push the orb down, my spiritual world shaking as it impacted the gyro sphere. My spiritual hands were pushing down as if trying to crush the orb between them, but the orb was between the human and saiyan arms of the spiritual pathway avatars.
I summoned all my might, now feeling like a ripped sail in hurricane winds, but I didn't give up.
The rings began to spin until they moved faster than should be possible. The silvery rings began to draw energy from the sphere, making it shrink even faster.
The purple energy flowed down my pedestal and soul-wrenching pain took over. I could feel my spirit screaming in agony as power enveloped me. It felt horrible and wrong all while the energy flow slowly came to a halt. Then purified destruction of my own making flowed backward to the gyro sphere. As if my soul was imprinted with destruction but then replied by changing the direction of the flow.
The rings around the sphere stopped and began spinning in the other direction, just as fast. It then became its pathway, one of singularly divine destruction power.
I felt it touch my Saiyan Pathway and activate something, the power surged like a swelling wave once again. This time my consciousness rode the wave until I was no longer in my Spirit Space.
I took a deep breath, the silence around me was oppressive and I opened my eyes.
I felt tired and full of power at the same time.
Looking down to where Beerus's Hakai Sphere had been, I was surprised to find my hands, now perfectly healed from nearly being destroyed. Two bands of golden energy around the palms. Does that mean I am in my Divine Saiyan form? My silver energy bands turned to gold when pushed into my divine Saiyan transformations.
Then I saw a lock of purple hair fall in front of my face. I examined it curiously, "Amazing..." I whispered.
"Now that is impressive, young Chiyo," Whis said.
I looked up and saw Beerus looking at me slack-jawed and Whis was impressed.
Beerus finally shook from his stunned silence, "HOW THE HELL DID YOU ABSORB THAT DESTRUCTION KI?!"
"W-what?" I asked.
"It appears we have a natural future Destroyer on our hands, and she already knows Merus... what was it you said Chiyo? 100 Years?" Whis asked amusedly.
I gulped, "I-I don't think I am actually wielding destruction...am I?"
My dad flew up, "CHIYO!? That was awesome! Your hair is purple!"
Beerus spoke up again, "Form a destruction sphere!"
Feeling overwhelmed, I nearly panicked, "I-I don't know how?"
Whis raised his eyebrow, "You are already wielding it, Destruction Ki has been claimed and is now building from within you."
"I see..." I held my left hand, palm up, and focused on my will to destroy anything. I weaved that together with my Destruction Ki.
A small purple sphere formed, the size of a pea. I continued pushing energy into it and it grew to an apple. It was beautiful and terrifying.
"She is very much just a beginner...but to form a Hakai Sphere on your first attempt, well done again Chiyo. Your Spiritual Control is one of the greatest I have witnessed in a mortal," Whis said.
My dad leaned in curiously and looked at it, "Wow, there is a lot of power in that tiny ball! Destruction, huh?"
"I guess it is...I feel like I can destroy anything..."
"Hahaha! Alright, girl. You have intrigued me enough...take this."
He threw me a small golden trinket.
I caught it but I was so overwhelmed by the power and the way it was affecting my mind that I didn't comprehend what he threw at me.
"Put it on your ear, girl. It's a symbol of those who can wield destruction."
I held it near my left ear and it just clipped onto my upper ear lobe. It stung for a quick second like it was locking into my ear permanently.
My mind was racing and my heart was pounding, what the hell just happened?
I sort of came out of a foggy mental state, like I had been going through the motions as I came down from my epiphany.
That seems like the right word...I did some crazy things to bind a sphere of destruction in my Spirit Space, but I have no clue how it got there.
I looked around in a sort of Daze. I was sitting between Bulma and Whis, but I don't remember how I got here.
I leaned over to Bulma, "Bulma...am I...alright?"
She smirked lightly, "I am not sure I can answer that you have been sort of out of it for quite a while."
I nodded, "Yeah, I feel fuzzy, did I get us here?"
"No, your dad brought you over with Whis and Lord Beerus here..."
I looked over to Whis, "Whis?"
"Ah, finally feeling better, Princess?"
"I don't know..."
"You had a bit too much divine energy I believe. There is always a toll until you fully ascend to a true divine being."
"Divine being...am I immortal?"
He laughed, "You easily have a lifespan in the millions of years unless you die from other causes."
My heart dropped, holy shit...I guess I didn't think about this god stuff enough...I looked at Bulma with worry and she put a hand on my shoulder.
"It's alright, Chiyo."
I nodded and turned back to Whis, the fog over my mind still thick, "And the Destruction?"
"Yes, very interesting, there have been very few people who have taken so well to Destruction Ki," Whis said.
Beerus spoke up, "Indeed, you are quite surprising...Chiyo."
The first time he used my name? Maybe?
"I see..." I had a chance to look around, we were definitely at Bulma's party. My dad, Gohan, Vegeta, and the little monsters were devouring food at another circular table. on the other side of Bulma was 18 and then Muezli. Behind me were Ivan and Kiara, both watching me worriedly.
I waved them over, "How long since we were at the campus?"
Ivan spoke up, "It has been about an hour, Director."
"Are you alright my lady?" Kiara said.
"I think I just drew a bit too much energy, I will be alright." She nodded but didn't look any less worried, "I just need to eat a bit, and rest."
I put my focus on the food in front of me, steak and asparagus and a scoop of mashed potatoes. I recognized my mom's work with a glass of my favorite juice and also a pitcher of water. It seemed Beerus and Whis had been constantly served the next course and were getting ready to work on their dessert.
A bunch of pudding. I smirked as I remembered specifically ordering a ridiculous amount of pudding.
In the original timeline, Beerus almost destroyed the Earth because Majin Buu didn't give him any pudding. Timelines are definitely different, to say the least.
I recovered enough in time for the Bingo contest and I was lucky enough to win the Castle. This was surprising since I had no idea what the winning conditions were from my previous memories...I truly just got lucky.
Yamcha ended up winning the wish from the Dragon Balls and so Bulma, Yamcha, and I had our three wishes. We left the party to the Lookout so it didn't scare anyone and blot out the sky with Shenron's presence.
I helped Yamcha to gain more power by wording his wish properly, to unlock his full potential. It went off without a hitch and he seemed excited to go fight Krillin but he held off so I could Instant Transmission us all back.
That is when things got a bit weird. I asked to be able to Speak and understand any language.
"What happened to the blessing I have already given you?" Shenron had asked.
I looked sheepish but remembered how scared he was of a certain Destroyer, "Lord Beerus decided that I should learn to use Destruction instead of some silly sword."
"WHAT? Lord Beerus is here?" Shenron's nervous voice questioned.
"He's back at the party, he will be coming around from time to time..." I could almost feel Shenron flinch at Beerus's name, and I played on that.
"R-right, well," His eyes flashed and I felt his blessing once again land on my spirit. I didn't directly feel the ability take hold but I will have to investigate it later, "Your wish is granted."
Bulma took her turn, "I wish to look like I did when I was 25!"
"You want to look like that or you want your body to be as it was when you were 25?" Shenron clarified attitude checked.
"Oh, yeah that sounds even better!"
Shenron's eyes flashed again, "Granted."
I didn't bother collecting the Dragon Balls as they dispersed, knowing I can just make someone else grab them later.
Bulma flashed in a golden light and her form had changed to a younger version of herself.
Mine and Yamcha's jaw dropped, "Wow."
"Do I look good?"
"You look amazing," I said.
"Of course I do," Bulma said with a confident tone.
I shook my head, "You know if you and Vegeta ever break up, I would love to be a rebound."
Bulma flushed red, "Chiyo! You can't say that!"
I shrugged, "Just saying...damn."
"I thought you liked boys?" Bulma asked, "Weren't you hitting it off with Muezli's boy?"
I coughed, "I...like both. But no...he hates Saiyans and I think the last thing he would want is to be with one. Plus there is the whole power difference thing...it would be weird."
Yamcha was about to speak but both Bulma and I gave him a dirty look and he wisely kept quiet.
Beerus and Whis left the party peacefully, Beerus claiming that he wanted a nap. I was able to convince Whis that he can always find a meal here and he promised to contact me when he had free time.
I guess that he was going to wait for Beerus to go to sleep, then come get some good food sometime in the next month or so.
It was an interesting visit and I was left with an odd sense of having succeeded in protecting the Earth, but I also over-extended my Divine Ki abilities. It left me feeling ragged and hollow, yet still satisfied with the outcome. It was a strange feeling for having succeeded in my plans, but I still paid for what happened. I had to check my spirit space that night.
I entered and like the last time, when I was in the heat of the moment, it was different than before.
I was on the same silvery metal platform suspended in endless space. Stars twinkling in the distance.
I looked around and took notice of my formally extensive representations of sources and bloodlines that had condensed. It was like my soul had accepted that I use Divine Ki more often than not and had begun to show it within my spirit space. My human and Saiyan sides both now showed the avatar of their divine paths.
It was a small but interesting change, that I took the time to study a bit now that I wasn't in the middle of a fight.
I finished my inspection and turned to learn about this destruction engine I have now.
The gyro sphere, with spinning circles of metal over a singularity of purple destruction, sat calmly on its pedestal. It was still small in power, but the potential within it felt limitless. I walked up to the sphere, it was larger now at nearly a foot in diameter. Before it was maybe a small melon in size.
I stared at it for a while, just contemplating the ease with which I seemed to accept Destruction Ki within me. It was oddly comforting and terrifying simultaneously.
I then thought about Whis's words.
Millions of years.
I had achieved with one simple ritual, the very thing that so many antagonists strive for throughout many stories. I was nearly immortal.
What does this mean for my life? How will this affect my future...my mom?
Worry and stress rippled out from me as I looked at the pathways that this destruction Ki could flow through. One large one to my Saiyan side, and a small, yet powerful, residual path to my human one. I am getting closer to achieving some sort of cohesion or balance in my spirit.
The next day was another plan that I had already put into motion and of all people, it involved Mr. Satan.
On the Z Force Campus, we prepared a press release to which all of the top news agencies were invited. A large area that was made for this exact purpose, just next to a parking lot was the perfect location. It had a stage and seating already being put to use as hundreds of people showed up, cameras, microphones, and more.
Carina was preparing me as I finished working on my appearance. I put some eyeliner on and adjusted my formal dress for the day.
A stylistic dress that allowed the movement needed to fight. I would change into my Z Force clothes during the fight, but I wanted to appear ready to fight at all times while still formally dressed.
"So, we have a slight problem as the Environmental Protection Agency has been on us since the many quakes and...waves of whatever that energy was, yesterday," Carina explained.
I nodded, "Beerus is a force of nature, we are lucky the planet didn't crack."
She nodded, "Their spokeswoman named Ms. Carlson, is going to be asking some intense questions it seems."
"Good, I will try to draw her into an accusation if possible. It will allow me to turn the table on her," I said thoughtfully.
Carina nodded, "And you are sure about this Ambassador from...what planet again?"
I know she knew the planet but just wanted me to say it again, I narrowed my eyes at her, "Planet Snack...they are lion-men or something..."
She laughed, "I will make sure to direct them to the nearest training yard, I think it's Delta..."
"It is, there should be enough room there for a quick demonstration, there are no dogs, right?"
"We have informed everyone today that they need to leave their canines indoors until after the press conference," She said seriously.
I nodded, "Good."
I finished getting ready by stepping into my heels. It was time to meet the press.
I walked out with Carina in step, and I met with my two Guards, Kiara, and Ivan on the way.
I found Mr. Satan already present, making poses. Videl had taught him how to fly and he was currently hovering a foot off the ground, his loyal fans going crazy over it.
I looked around and saw a smattering of low-level Z Guardians keeping the press at bay, the camera's already focused on my approach through our campus. I had my casual smile on as we approached the stage which was now set up for the press conference, with nearly 30 microphones on the podium.
I waited on stage as Mr. Satan came to join us.
"Well, hey there Princess! The crowd is primed for amazement! You ready to give a speech or what?" Mr. Satan said, somehow achieving a tone of voice mixed between subdued and aggressive. His aura told a different story, only worried about actually speaking to me.
He is much closer to Gohan, but I guess my yelling at him yesterday left its mark.
"Good morning Mr. Satan, I am ready," I nodded to him and let Carina introduce me.
I walked up to the podium after she stepped back, heels clicking loudly in the silence of the crowd.
"Good morning everyone, thank you for coming today. As Ms. Florez said, I will give a brief overview of what happened before opening up the floor to questions, then we have a little surprise for you in the form of a demonstration," I explained.
"We have recently been made aware of beings that rule over larger parts of the universe as a whole," I let that sink in. "Yes, our entire universe. One of those entities is known as Lord Beerus and his attendant Whis."
Behind me an image of the god and his angel, looking very intimidating, came into view. The crowds gasped as they looked at the picture, the two gods flying over us while Beerus charged an orb of destruction.
It was an image we made based on our recordings of the two deities.
"Lord Beerus is the strongest being in our Universe, a God. He came to our world to test our strongest fighters, to see if we were worthy of continued existence."
People shouted questions but I ignored them and burst my aura quickly, it shut them up.
"We passed the test with flying colors, our S-rank Guardians being found worthy in his eyes..." I went on with my prepared speech and got into the questions section.
A bunch of questions about who the deities were, how they dared to test us, what gives them the right to do so, and many more. I answered with precise wording and unrelenting honesty.
I told them how close our planet - no, our universe was to destruction with the waves of reality-altering force emanating from the clash yesterday.
It took a while to describe the ramifications of us not being strong enough, people hearing but not listening. They couldn't believe that they had almost died.
I had to reinforce the idea that they had survived because we had Guardians.
The EPA lady didn't even bother asking questions about the environment, she just stared in shocked silence.
Eventually, I got a text message from our HQ letting me know the Ambassador and Hero from Planet Snack was about to arrive. They had directed the ship to the huge training yard Delta, which was fairly close to Press.
"Alright, that will be enough questions for now, we have done our job as Z Guardians, the last line of defense. Let us move to training yard Delta, where we are expecting visitors and a demonstration," I concluded.
The reporters and their crews scrambled to follow and many were setting up as a small ship came flying down from space.
Their ship was tiny and...slightly dorky. It came on a winding course followed by a small explosion as it released its shields. I held up my hand and projected my shield blocking wind and debris from hitting anyone.
The four-legged spaceship had a beam of light drop down and an older blue-maned lion-man observed me and everyone else before turning around.
"We are ready to receive you now, Ambassador," The small lion-man said in a refined accent.
The next lion-man that came down was more intimidating, but maybe only 5 feet tall. He had hard eyes and a nearly hostile demeanor. He also wore a skirt.
He had a darker mane of blue fur that seemed more vitalized than the first one.
The dude was trying to intimidate and I felt everyone behind me, Mr. Satan especially, flinch in fear.
The attendant held out his hand, "After you."
"Thank you."
He walked forward and so did I, my bodyguards in tow.
"Greetings Ambassador, I am Princess Chiyo, Director of the Z Force. Welcome to the Dragon World."
I loved calling our planet the dragon world, a name mostly used by older generations. I found that it brought out their favor when I said it, and knowing this was being broadcast live and across the world, I went ahead and used that name.
The older gentleman's eyes widened but the Ambassador grinned, "Finally an official that doesn't flinch in the sight of my race."
I raised an eyebrow as we stepped within hand-shaking distance, I acted indifferent, "Flinch? How do you mean?"
"Nevermind that, Ambassador Crunch here, it is an honor to meet you, Princess Chiyo."
I shook his outstretched paw, "The honor is mine. Now, would you like to explain why you have come to our world? Or shall I?"
They seemed confused at first, "You know why we are here?"
"You have come to offer your respects to the Guardian that battled Lord Beerus to exhaustion," I said with a smirk. I know the reporters were picking up every spoken word and I made sure to drop Beerus's name.
They were surprised but the Ambassador grinned again, "Indeed! In the form of our most distinguished medal!" He turned to his attendant, "Show her."
The attendant held out a case with a surprisingly beautiful medallion within.
"Tell me, Princess, is the Hero who fought Beerus here?"
"Unfortunately, he is still in recovery, he will be unable to accept this honor today. However, on behalf of the Z Force, the Dragon World Monarchy, and the people of our planet, I will accept the medal on his behalf."
They were surprised, "Oh, of course, I suppose that makes sense-"
A loud voice interrupted them, "NOT SO FAST!"
A much larger lion-man, a blue beard and mane, golden armor, a red cape, and muscles to boot, appeared from their tiny spaceship.
"Something wrong Galbee?" The Ambassador asked.
"In the custom of our warriors, I can't acknowledge him as a hero until we meet in the ring! If the one you speak of really bested the Destroyer, it should be easy for him to come to prove his strength."
The Ambassador sighed and turned back to me, "I must apologize but it is our tradition, Galbee is the Hero of Planet Snack, so it would be an honor if the mysterious warrior would join him in combat."
I smiled internally, keeping my face passive, "Unfortunately, you are not strong enough to face anyone of our S-Class Guardians, Hero Galbee."
The silence at my statement was so amazing. It felt good to put arrogant people off their game with easy words.
"WHAT? HOW DARE YOU-"
I cut him off by imbuing some Ki into my voice, making it echo around the training field, "Instead! I will face you in combat. If you can beat me, then I will let you face him. You claim to be a hero, yet you are not worthy of the title of Guardian." I paused, "That is OUR custom."
I felt all of the Guardians watching over the event swell with pride at my words. Many nodded and others smirked at my refusal to back down.
Galbee looked offended at first, then angry, then he laughed, "HAHAHAHA, WELL SAID INDEED! Right then, Princess...I will face you."
I smiled.
I walked out onto the field where I pressed a button on my watch. My beautiful dress and heels disappeared and in their place was a new set of armor mixed with feminine martial arts gear.
I loved the feel of no shoes when fighting so I didn't have any, the only thing on my feet being the silver band of energy that has been a part of me since I unlocked it.
I had silver shin guards, a black combat skirt that went to mid-thigh, and undershorts not allowing anything to be revealed. I had a silver, armored bra that wrapped around my chest, with a vest, Gogeta style in my matching black and silver. It also came with a silver circlet and bracers that supported my fists.
I heard the gasps at the sudden change of my outfit and demeanor. I was ready to fight and I intend to end this in one blow, after dodging everything he can throw of course.
Galbee got excited now that I was taking this seriously, "Well now, here I was thinking you would just be some pushover princess with no power at all. I can see you were hiding it the whole time!"
I smirked, "I apologize for what is about to happen, but I have to make an example."
"What?"
"Are you ready?" I asked.
He shook his head and got into a fighting stance.
I didn't bother and just stood casually. I could feel his power level and it was about the range of a D-class Guardian. Even if he has power-up or transformation it will be difficult for him to beat me. I wasn't even accessing Divine Ki...
He growled at me, "LET'S GO THEN!"
He rushed at me, faster than the eye of a normal human could see, but was painfully slow to me.
I sighed as my afterimages let his attacks go through. He went on for a full fifteen seconds before disengaging.
"I see that you have some skill! But if you just stand there, how can I call you a hero? FIGHT ME!"
"So be it."
I stepped forward, my single step appearing to move me across the entire distance and my heel sent him flying into his spaceship, which rocked back and resettled. A lion-man-shaped dent was now visible in its hull.
I lightly put my foot down and walked over to him, green energy now radiating from my hands.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO OUR HERO?" Ambassador Crunch questioned.
I didn't look up, "I am healing him."
Eventually, Galbee came to, "Whoah, that was some attack Princess...did you punch me or kick me?"
I smiled, "It was a kick, are you feeling better?"
He shook the fog from his mind, "Wow, I...didn't expect to find such powerful warriors here, such as yourself. Tell me, is the mysterious fighter that faced Lord Beerus, really you?"
"No, it is my father," I smiled as I said no, displaying a feeling of helplessness as far as reaching S-Class was concerned. This improved the mysterious image of our S-Class Guardians.
"I see, that is quite impressive!" He was touching the dent in his armor, courtesy of my heel. I smiled sheepishly at that.
We ended up allying with Planet Snack, and Galbee decided to train with the Z Force for a while. He stayed while the Ambassador and staff left. I promised to give him a ride home when he wishes to leave.
That weekend we had a huge family party where all of our closest friends and I were currently watching Gohan and Hercule pretend to fight over Pan.
"Fiendish Mr. Satan! I have caught you red-handed, stealing Pan's heart! And now the Golden Fighter will make you pay!" Gohan said, switching into his Patrol armor and altering his voice like some old superhero. It was the most adorable thing ever.
Since becoming King of the planet, he didn't go on patrol anymore, but he still helped when he could. Turns out the world loves the fact that their king shows up to natural disasters and physically helps.
Hercule's deep voice rumbled out, Pan in one arm smiling happily, "Oh I've been waiting for you!" He pointed when he said 'you' and continued, "Finally, we can settle this at last!"
Gohan wasn't one to be outshone, "Prepare for justice! HAAAAAA"
His nerdy nasal voice only amplified in a silly 'hero' tone, was hilarious. We were all watching the play fight, laughing the whole way.
Gohan punched, Hercule blocked, Gohan roundhouse kicked, and Hercule slid underneath! Pan switched arms.
"It's not so easy fighting against you one-handed, Hero!" Hercule said, getting into a power stance, "Looks like I'm going to have to use my BABY JUGGLE!" He yelled, tossing Pan high into the air as if activating some ability.
No one here was worried since we could circle the planet before Pan reached the highest point of his throw.
Gohan looked up in mock shock, his emotions through our bond betraying the fun he was having, "Huh?"
Hercule came in and attacked relentlessly, right hook, jump kick, flying headbutt, the blows exchanged were...normal.
Hercule caught Pan, her giggles relentless, he then employed the baby voice, "Well, look at you, little Pan just loves her Granpa so much doesn't she!?"
Hercule looked at Gohan and laughed deviously, Gohan replied, "Not too bad!
He came in with a roundhouse to Hercule's gut causing the big man to casually toss Pan into the air again. Gohan caught her perfectly, "Haha! Not even, Grandpa, is a match for the mighty power of the Golden Fighter's mega-ultra-super Daddy love!"
"I'm not done yet!" The 'fight' continued.
Videl spoke up to all of us watching, "They do this every day, I have no idea how they don't get tired of it."
We laughed and it was at that moment that my mom came outside and saw what was happening.
She took one look at Pan's adorable giggling form, floating above the two fighters before she exploded in rage, "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?"
They almost dropped her and I would have been worried had Gohan's Ki not spiked to ensure that he was fast enough to catch her.
"Mom, don't yell you nearly broke our concentration!"
My mother, Kami love her, and went full crazy mode, screaming at Hercule and Gohan. She went on a tirade lasting nearly 20 minutes before Gohan looked over to me, sensing the amusement in my emotions, and pleaded for help. Chichi looked over at me, and I just made a stern face and shook my head disapprovingly.
"CHIYO AGREES WITH ME! YOU ARE BEING RECKLESS!"
Gohan's look of betrayal sparked another round of laughter and it took another 20 minutes before Mom stopped freaking out.
It then went on to Hercule and Chichi arguing over what Pan will be when she grows up. I could watch this all day.
Carina Florez and Kiara came into my office, both looking determined and ready for a long discussion.
I sighed immediately at them but Carina spoke up before I could tell them no.
"You have been putting off answering questions for too long, Director!" She said 'Director' with an angry tone that wasn't fun to hear.
"Yes...well, go ahead and ask then," I said as we moved over to my small sitting area.
Kiara started first, "My mother is a small-time demi-god, I won't hide that."
My eyes opened wide in shock and she continued.
"Yes, I said I wouldn't...but what those other Gods said...is it true? You are all Gods of a sort?"
I sighed again, putting this talk off for a long time, "Yes, all of us Saiyans have achieved a divine form of sorts."
"Do you have a domain?" Kiara asked and my eyes widened in surprise.
"A domain..." I thought about the things holding me back on my human side. I had the Divine form within it, but I have been missing something.
Kiara snorted lightly, her fox ears bounced adorably and I did my best not to look at them.
"I guess that is a no then..."
Carina spoke up, "How are you a goddess? Like Kami?"
"No...I am not like that at all. I am a protector, and I am not very old like Lord Beerus. But I have accessed Godhood to some degree. I learned from Whis, Lord Beerus's attendant, that I will live for a long time...at least into the millions. I can't even comprehend it, to be honest." I explained.
They seemed at a loss until Carina snorted, "I guess it makes sense though, your other-worldly beauty, obscene power, and your emotional aura make sense now."
I raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"
Kiara looked curious as well, but Carina continued, "I feel like I have chosen wisely in working for you, but I won't lie to having some questions. I know for a fact that you haven't aged a day, or even grown at all in the time that I have known you. You have looked the same the whole time. Now I find that this being, who without a doubt is powerful but also somehow naive with sex and relationships, is really a goddess and just doesn't know how to interact with us...how old are you?"
I gulped, "It's hard to explain, but less than 5, technically."
"5...hundred? thousand? what?" Carina asked.
"...years old, I was wished into existence with the dragon balls. I remember my last life, but when I got here I looked like this and my family accepted me as part of it...something that I would be lost without," I tried to explain.
The silence between us three was potent.
"Less than 5 years old... and you look like your 18... It doesn't make sense," Carina said slowly. "So then are you not a princess?"
"No, I am the daughter of my parents, but just created from a divine dragon's magic. The wish specifically made me Gohan's twin sister. It was Goten that wished for me..."
Carina smiled at the reference to my little monster of a brother.
"Chiyo, everyone here heard what that Beerus-God said. It was Piccolo and Tien as well wasn't it?" Kiara asked. "How many of you are gods? Is this some sort of crazy pantheon?"
Carina didn't let me respond in her response to Kiara's rant, "Yeah! So many people heard that...the world will find out sooner or later. And what is up with that earring? I have only seen you wear jewelry when you dress up?"
I just shook my head and sighed. I guess this is one aspect that was never really dealt with in the original timeline. I answered their questions for a few hours.
A month or so after the Beerus event, I received a notification that we had an incoming ship. This had to be Sorbet, the foolish Frieza Force Commander that is making desperate plays for power as his soldiers tip-toe the line with mutiny. I assembled many Guardians and we didn't have time for a meeting.
The ship came in and exited the warped hyperspeed IN our atmosphere. Something I thought was foolish, but it enabled them to land and start unloading troops before we arrived.
I had nearly thirty Guardians, including Yamcha, Krillin, 17, and 18. We had plenty of firepower but I brought more still.
Piccolo and Tien had also shown up, now that we had some serious powerhouses here, actual divine beings, they didn't have a chance.
The strange ship, looking like a sea urchin of sorts landed in the high desert. I Instant Transmissioned all thirty of us into the air above the ship after it hit the ground.
"Let's say hello," I said before blasting a hole into the top. "Everyone goes unconscious, B-rank and up follow me!" I disappeared and flew through the ship to the highest Ki signatures. They were all on the bridge and we barreled through the doors without pausing for them to iris open.
Sorbet, Tagoma, Shisami, Garana, and Chidoru were the main four that needed to be taken down.
"That is Sorbet, Ivan on him, 17 take that one there named Garana."
"On it!"Got it, Boss" 17 and Ivan said respectively.
Ivan appeared beside the tiny Sorbet with his two fingers against the neck, he inserted Ki instantly and Sorbet was asleep.
17 didn't care about that, and punched the strange Second-in-Command of Sorbet's forces, right in the gut. The armor covering him shattered and he coughed up blood. 17 picked him up and threw him at the massive window that made up the outside wall of the room. He appeared next to battered Garana and kicked him through the window, shattering the foot-thick steel glass window. Garana came through as a bloody pulp.
"18 on that devil-looking fool in the speedo there," I said.
18 smashed into Shisami, who was trying to speak but none of us cared about what these invaders had to say.
I then turned to the remaining one, "Tagoma... is it?"
He was analyzing me like mad, his scouter firing up before sparking and blowing off of his face.
"You're a Saiyan then?" His voice was nearly defeated.
"You know, without my intervention, you go on to be tortured when Frieza is revived."
His confusion grew.
"Normally that would mean that we have something in common, a hatred for that most disgusting of tyrants...but then something else happened." I let the silence hang as all of the fighting around us moved on to the ship.
18 was finishing the devil man and 17 was watching and listening to my words.
Tagoma began to grow nervous as the air began to shake around me.
My casual business attire shifted to my newer battle attire, my silver rings began to spin as power flooded my body. I felt him begin to speak, but I was maintaining eye contact with him already and I had entered his mind.
I shared the images of Frieza torturing and reviving him as a plaything, then I showed him returning to earth as a soldier for Frieza...and how he killed Gohan.
I then teleported with his face in my hand straight into space.
He couldn't breathe and began to panic as I squeezed his face harder.
Piccolo appeared next to me and telepathically spoke to me, "Don't do this Chiyo...you aren't going to like what this does to you..."
My mind was caught between two strange concepts, brutally murdering this fool in my grip and the idea that I might one day become a destroyer.
I laughed and released him.
"Fine, but he doesn't live..." I replied in Piccolo's mind.
Tagoma's panic grew and I grabbed him by the arm this time before teleporting back to 17.
"Told you he would stop you..."
"Yeah...can you just do this?"
"I get three months off and you are paying for the"
"Yes! It is a deal, just do it."
17 just swiped his hand through Tagoma's neck.
The fight was over and the four dangerous officers didn't make it. The rest were being packed into my ship to take to the Galactic Patrol HQ.
Bulma and Muezli took the ship over from me after I extracted promises of upgrades to my Golden Star. Especially the healing pods which were capable of returning someone to full health even from one remaining atom. The second thing I wanted was the engine upgrades since stopping in the atmosphere like that would destroy my ship if it didn't have my energy supporting it. The ship also had a next generation of Hologram projectors and scanning systems.
I would be needing all three. I will have to constantly upgrade my Golden Star, it is just too much fun to not do so.
As simple as that...We stopped Frieza from coming back to life. May the tyrant rest in hell.
Another couple of months went by, keeping the world safe, working with the King and Queen to push better policies for citizens all over, and more. It was so strange helping to run a planet and its defenses. It took me almost an entire month before I could access Divine Ki again, yet I noticed holding more Ki within me and controlling it with my spirit had both improved drastically.
I couldn't say where I stood against my dad, Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo, or Tien, but with my new Super Saiyan Destroyer form I am sure that I can make a lasting mark.
A few months before Beerus arrived, Bulma, Muezli, and I had invested in another 5 Universal Cruisers. Starting the Dragon World Trade Corporation, was my idea, of course. The partnership with Planet Snack included a fantastic trade contract that I intended to make use of.
We had a variety of contracts that went through to supply an assortment of goods to send over there, many of which were luxury items.
They would all be equipped with the newest technology, including the upgrades from Frieza's ship. We traded with them in Galactic Credits, but also just other items from their world. I worked out a basic trade deal with the Galactic government when I dropped off the crew from Frieza's ship at Galactic Patrol HQ.
We had a difficult time hiring crew for these ships, when we posted for a position on a starship...people went a little nuts. We had a few hundred thousand applicants at first. Then we had to start narrowing things down and hiring people to even look through them.
Then we just decided to hire people to do the hiring and that was about as much involvement as I decided to have. I had money and ideas, and that was good enough to make more of both.
Everything continued as normal until I finally got a telepathic call from Whis, he wanted to come down and have some lunch. That gave me about 25 minutes or so to get everything ready.
I ran into Carina's office, "It's Whis Protocol! I am going!"
"Understood, Director!"
Using Instant Transmission, I went down to the Campus's storage room with a capsule and put a pallet of Instant Ramen bowls into a Capsule.
The next stop was a flower shop, I bought two beautiful bouquets and the owners gave me a third since...I am a princess. I overpaid but flew away with a huge smile, not every day do I get compliments without them being creepy or over the top.
The next stop was back at the Z Force Campus. I found my dad and Vegeta arguing while sparring about something. I turned off the gravity and walked in, "Alright, you two. I have an opportunity for both of you...but you have to do a few things for it to work."
Vegeta, who was already angry because of my dad's shenanigans, spoke first, "And you brought flowers..."
"Look, if we play our cards right, I can get you both some training with some serious power. But here is the deal. You both need to shower, then give these to Bulma and Mom."
My dad looked confused, "What do you mean 'serious power'?"
"Dad, you know that I have a unique ability to handle Mom's temper, right?"
"Yeah?"
"So, you going off to where I have in mind is going to piss her off if you don't make her happy first, right?"
"...yeah?"
"And you want to have an opportunity to get stronger right?"
"YEAH!"
"Good, so you have to make Mom happy before you go. To do that, you need to shower here and put on a clean Gi. And bring her these flowers. Spend the day with her, which will be about two or three hours then tell her you have a chance to train off-world for a bit. Alright?"
"Alright! You got it Chiyo!"
He went to grab the flowers and I just said, "SHOWER FIRST! I will leave them with Carol at reception."
"Oh, you got it Chiyo!" He rubbed my head and messed up my hair...the evil man.
"Vegeta-"
"Tsch, was it your idea for Bulma to get young again?"
I looked at him weirdly, "Uhh, kind of?"
"Hmph!"
I shook my head, "Right, I mean, she looks great so you should be happy, right?"
Silence.
"Okay, so I need to tell you a few things before you go to train with Whis."
"Whis!? What?"
"Yeah, look you need to be on Lord Beerus's world training with him or we won't survive the Tournament of Power."
I had told him about the basics of the ToP but he still didn't know the specifics of why or how it starts. That was for me to worry about after all.
"And?"
"At some point while training there, Lord Beerus's brother, Lord Champa will arrive. He is the Destroyer from the 6th Universe and you must just let him and Beerus do their thing. They are twins and since they are not allowed to truly fight as Destroyers, they compete in other ways...Food stuffs, martial arts competitions of people from their respective universes..." I explained.
I went on to explain everything that I thought they needed to know. This would hopefully achieve two things, the first being that I get things to go as I want them to, which is pretty much the same as the original timeline minus Frieza until the Tournament of Power. That is not including the Goku Black stuff, since I am still not sure what to do with that yet.
The second thing that giving this information to Vegeta does, is that it gets me a bit of prestige, enough that I become enough of an asset to Lord Beerus that he will never destroy my world AND he will listen to what I have to say. All I have to do is show him respect while pushing my narrative.
With that out of the way, I went back to the Z Force Campus to wait for Whis. I wasn't the only one who was preparing.
Carina had gone and booked two of our greatest Chefs in West City. We approached a few of them and made a specific offer. That at some point in time, we are going to pick them up and they will come to make some delicious food for esteemed guests of the Dragon World. If they did well they would be paid enough for their entire families to retire.
I finished dressing up with Kiara's help and made it to our reception area where Whis appeared exactly on time.
I gave him a bow, "Hello, Whis! It is great to have you!"
"Princess! Thank you so much for inviting me to come by!"
"Of course! I have people already on their way to cook us some delicious food! Come on in!" I led him into a newer building that was in our Market District of the Z Force Campus. We paid for all the meals at any restaurant that opened here, for employees and their families. But this was all open to the public and quite often was it crowded. That being said, we had VIP areas in a specific place that are never used except when we need them for meetings and things like this.
"This place you have made is quite something, Chiyo! I am so excited to see where your future leads," Whis says.
Nodding in agreement, "Yes, it's so difficult to think that far ahead when I am still less than a century old."
I heard Kiara hold back a chuckle at that, yeah, less than a century but almost 95 years.
Whis laughed too, "Yes, I'd imagine that would be difficult."
"But yeah, I am also looking forward to the future, it will be exciting to see."
Lunch came to an end after a few hours, all of us were stuffed, especially Whis. We finished everything with some amazing chocolates, strawberry cheesecake, and Tiramisu.
He was successfully full and happy when I asked, "Whis...would you be able to-"
"I was wondering when you were going to ask," He said with a knowing smile.
I laughed nervously, "Yeah, sorry, I was wondering if you would be able to train my dad and Vegeta?"
His eyes went wide in shock, "Wait...what?"
"I have prepared a bunch of different flavors of Instant Ramen as well..." I held out the capsule.
"I'm sorry, but you don't want training?"
"Uhh, I mean, I have a lot going on here."
He just shook his head, "You have to be the strongest person I know, Chiyo."
"Why is that?"
"Well, for one, you are the most talented person on this planet, yet you push others forward instead of stepping up yourself."
"I am not nearly as talented as my dad or the others...not by a long shot."
"You are the only person that has come this close to truly ascending in the history of this planet," He said while looking into the orb on his staff.
I frowned, "W-what do you mean?"
"Your spirit control is beyond anything I have seen in years, your paths are very well aligned and balanced, and you absorbed a bit of Beerus's Destruction Ki and turned it into a source of power...I mean these things are unheard of and you have been in this universe for less than Beerus's average nap time." Whis laughed.
I didn't have a response to that.
He sighed, "Well, a hundred years then, I will train your father and Vegeta and I am about ready to leave anyways. Would you mind grabbing them?"
I messaged Bulma and spiked my Ki for my dad.
Soon enough both Vegeta and Goku were here and waiting, "Alright, remember what I told you Vegeta."
He just scowled at me.
I gave my dad a big hug, "Train hard! Make sure you are stronger than Vegeta, alright Dad?"
"Haha, you got it Chiyo!"
"WHAT?!" Vegeta yelled.
"Thank you again Whis, and let me know if you wish to grab lunch any time, alright?"
"Thank you as well, Princess, I will do that. Alrighty now boys, put your hand on my shoulder and we can be off."
They did that and Whis used his crazy fast Angel flight and flew off.
Nearly six months of training in Lord Beerus's world had Vegeta and Goku reaching new heights. They were wearing mass-increasing suits, weighing some obscene amount of weight.
Doing one-finger pushups while wearing those suits was a fantastic training method for both warriors.
"Fifteen...thousaaand!" Goku said, finishing his reps.
"It's hard to believe that these suits are stronger than anything Bulma has in her state-of-the-art training rooms," Vegeta said through grunts.
Whis was standing with a delicious tea, a gift from Princess Chiyo while watching over the Saiyan's training, "Nice work! You two seem to be adjusting quite well to those suits and are moving around rather nimbly in them."
A streak of purple-white light tore across Beerus's home world, drawing Whis's attention, "Hmmm."
The impact was enough to knock Goku and Vegeta from their verticle push-ups.
"What was that?" Vegeta asked.
"Oh for goodness sake," Whis said tiredly. "They always just show up without any warning."
"Huh?" Goku asked, "Wait, you're saying there was somebody in that thing?"
Whis didn't have time to respond as another explosion shook the realm. Beerus's massive castle in a tree now had a large hole in it as Beerus flew out in a nightie.
"HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU TO KEEP IT DOWN? AND YOU STILL HAVE THE NERVE TO WAKE ME?!" Beeurs yelled.
"It wasn't us!" Goku yelled.
"Calm down!" Vegeta yelled.
Beerus put his hands together, forming a destruction sphere, and launched it at the Saiyan's sending them flying.
Beerus continued attacking them, launching spheres of destruction until he lost sight of them. He then destroyed the entrance gate to his world and looked around for the two trainees.
Unknown to Beerus, was his brother Lord Champa, who had barely dodged the destruction Beerus had dropped on the area.
"HEY! BEERUS!" Lord Champa yelled.
"THERE YOU ARE!" Beerus replied, launching a fast blast of Ki at him.
Beerus didn't relent, either not knowing or not caring.
Champa dodge two more, "HEY! Knock it off will ya?" He breathed deep and let out a loud yell, "HEEEEEEYYYYYYYYAAAAAA!"
Champa was breathing hard with a dirt face as he looked at Beerus, "That's a hell of a way to greet someone Beerus!"
Beerus looked sternly at the dirty Champa for a few seconds, "Who are you?"
Champa didn't know how to respond to that.
Vados held out a towel for him, "Your face, Lord."
Champa grumbled something about 'who are you' then said, "It's me you fool! Your brother Champa!"
"Oh, so it is. Well, what do you want?"
"That's all you have to say for yourself?" Champa raged, "You know that is not how you should be greeting people, a couple of those blasts almost hit me!"
"My only regret was that my aim was off."
"Ahhh! Such insolence!" Champa yelled, "Now, listen here you brat!"
Vados and Whis exchanged glances, she giggled and Whis sighed at the two destroyers and their antics.
Vegeta was watching with shock, now realizing once again that Chiyo's powers were fully effective. Goku asked stupid questions as usual, and the gods brushed it off as a foolish mortal.
Vegeta watched the interaction of some of the strongest beings in existence, just here in front of him. They viewed everything differently...life itself. They had spent millions of years destroying civilizations and leading their respective universes along the timeline.
They weren't allowed to actually fight, yet the competition between the two brothers was relentless.
Champa brought some eggs out, some weird teal and white monstrosities, and handed them out.
It was just a regular egg.
Beerus was not impressed and signaled Whis to serve some of the Ramen Chiyo had been supplying them.
The argument grew from there and they discovered that the universe 6 earth had been destroyed a long time ago.
It was fine until Champa called Beerus a scrawny punk.
They stopped the casual bickering and the weight of their power stopped all within the room.
As one, the two destroyers rose and walked across the long table at each other. They began growling before a flurry of blows, faster than either Saiyan could see, were exchanged.
A sphere of purple destruction energy was slowly spreading from the fight. As it expanded the table, floor, and chairs all turned into a blackened dusty color.
Just as the power was about to spike again both angels stepped in.
"That's enough!"
Vegeta shook his head as he recalled the conversation Chiyo had told him, almost word for word.
Champa suggested a contest of martial arts, wagering the use of the Super Dragon Balls. Vegeta could only shake his head as Champa followed Chiyos script.
He couldn't tell what was more terrifying.
The argument between the destroyers seemed moot when Beerus said that Champa would never find the seventh, as he had only collected 6 so far.
Goku spoke up, once again following what Chiyo said would happen, as if they were in a play of her writing, "I bet Bulma could find it!"
Vegeta spoke up, "She doesn't have to, Chiyo already knows where it is."
That drew strange glances from everyone but Goku kept speaking, "Can we please have the tournament? Vegeta is right that we can get the seventh orb!"
"You really want to be a part of this?" Beerus asked.
"Fighting the strongest from other universes?! This is what I live for!"
"And what about you?" Beerus asked Vegeta.
He only needed to think for a moment, he smirked at the crazy princess and her future sight, "I am in!"
"Hmph!" Beerus said while thinking for a moment. "Alright! I could use a good battle!"
"We have ourselves a deal!" Champa laughed like some cartoon villain.
Goku yelled in excitement, "HELL YEAH!"
"Now, we just need to decide where to hold this competition. Oh, I know the perfect place! A planet that floats in between our universes, that way neither team will have the home-field advantage!"
"But Lord Champa, that world only has a tiny sun that floats nearby to offer warmth and light. It is just a rock floating without even an atmosphere. It's quite desolate."
Vegeta spoke again, "Excuse me, Lord Destroyers, but Chiyo said that world IS the seventh Super Dragon Ball, just covered in dirt from floating for so long."
"Alright, who is this Chiyo person? And why would she know anything about the Super Dragon Balls?" Champa asked.
"Chiyo is my daughter! She is a seer!"
"She is a half-Saiyan with extraordinary abilities. It seems she has divined something about the dragon balls." Whis said.
Vados was looking through her staff, "Wow, I must say I am surprised, the planet is the exact same diameter as the other six orbs."
"Well, fair enough," Champa said.
"If everything is settled, then it will be up to you to get everything set up, Champa," Beerus said.
"Trust me, I will! As long as I am planning though, I guess I lay down the rules."
"Oh, I know!" Goku said, "Let's make it like the World Martial Arts Tournament!"
"And what might that entail, Saiyan?"
"You lose when you surrender or when you step outside the ring. And there's no killing or weapons allowed."
Champa looked curious at that, "Hmmm."
Vegeta spoke up, "And you can't boost your natural power by cheating. And there should be a written test for anyone who wants to enter. We don't need some mindless monster on either side. You need a brain big enough to understand the rules."
"Yes, that all sounds reasonable to me. Are you in Champa?"
"Yeah, you in...your lordship?" Goku asked.
"Hmmm...oh alright, fine! The game shall begin at exactly 7 o'clock sharp, one week from today on the eighth solar calendar! Good day!" He turned and flew away, Vados at his side.
