After Groose reavealed that he locked up Nika's Loftwing she went to the academy to get a sword from the sword instruction Eagus, he was in the building beside the main one so he was easy to find, "Instructor Eagus!" Nika exclaimed to get his attention, "Nika? What are you doing here? It's not sword practice today." Eagus asked, Nika shook her head and explained "It's not that, I need a sword to pass through the cave behind the waterfall."

Eagus was surprised at this request so he asked "Why would you need to go there?", Nika sighed and said "Groove or whatever his name is, locked my Loftwing there!", "That... Turkey, All right, you can take one, but bring it back after you're done" He conceeded, giving her a basic iron katana, the knights there use this style of sword because it's said to bring good luck, but the reason behind it was lost to time.

Having obtained a sword, Nika ran to the cave where a few bats and slimes got in her way, but using the sword, she managed to defeat them pretty easily, getting on the other side of the cave. There she heard her Loftwing calling for help, so she hurried and saw it panicking in a hole in the wall that was clearly man made, and blocking it from getting out were wooden planks which Nika slice apart, letting her Loftwing get out.

Nika petted it's head a bit before it took off, Nika then jumped off the side of the cliff she was standing on and whistled, this time, her Loftwing caught her, and she instructed it to do some tricks and difficult movements in the air, "Good to see I still got it." She commented before having it take her to the Goddess Staue, where the Wing Ceremony would begin.

Standing near the starting line were Zelda, Professor Owlan, Groose and his friends, "You found him!" Zelda exclaimed as she went to the Loftwing to pet it, "Yeah, it was EXACTLY WERE YOU SAID." Nika said making her displeasure in seeing Groose evident, he just looked away though.

"Now that we're all here, we can begin the Wing Ceremony, the rules are simple, all you need to do is chase the yellow Loftwing and get the Loftwing Statuette tied to it's leg." Owlan explained, "Now that the rules are out of the way, all of you get in your place." He instructed and everyone followed, "Now, the Wing Ceremony... Begins!" Owland exclaimed, prompting the partecipants to dive from Skyloft and calling their Loftwings.

Nika's Loftwing caught her and started chasing the target, it took little to catch up and she was even about to grab the statue, but Groose's friends started thowing rock at Nika, distracting her and allowing the target to get away.

An idea came to Nika's mind and she started to use the sheate of the katana that she still didn't bring back to play baseball with the rocks and hitting the ones who threw them, setting them back a lot.

All of a sudden, Nika's bird started panicking, she turned around to see and realized the target went through a bunch of rocks, she petted her Loftwing to calm it down and guided it through the rocks, spinning, gliding, going up and down and between.

With all of these maneuvers, they managed to get out of the rock field and catch up once more to the target, but Nika noticed that Groose's firiends were catching up again, "How annoying..." Nika grumbled before noticing a 'boost draft' as she liked to call them, she guided her Loftwing to it and told it "Wait for it..." and right when they were about to touch it, she yelled "Now!" And her Loftwing flapped it's wings to get a stronger boost than she would have normally, and manaed to grab the statue as she passed beside the target.

Nika looked at the statue in her hand before lifting it up and cheering "YAAAHA! We did it!", she then started scratching her Loftwing's chin making it chirp in enjoyment, she stopped however when she heard "Nika!" coming from above her, she looked up and saw Zelda falling towards her, she promptly catched her and wondered if her friend finally lost her mind.

"Don't worry I'm fine" Zelda reassured, "I was wondering if you went insane!" Nika clarified, Zelda pouted at her, but smiled when she said "Anyways, let's go to the top of the Goddess Statue, we need to finish the ritual."

On top of the statue, Zelda place the Loftwing Statuette on a pedestal, she then turned to Nika and said "The blessings of the goddess drift down from the heavens aloft a sail, which I now pass on to you.", as she said this, she gave Nika a sail cloth, "Thanks for making it up here to do this with me today like you promised, Nika" Zelda said, Nika just smirked and replied "Always keep my word!"

Zelda smiled, and continued "Anyways, we still need to finish the ritual, you know what comes next, right?", Nika thought about it until Zelda pointed down, making Nika spot a platform that looked like a target, she turned back to Zelda who was ready to push her off, "Oh no, I know what I have to do, and I know how you intend to make me do it, so don't you daaaaAAAAAAH!" Nika screamed as Zelda pushed her off, she could only adjust her position in the air to make sure she'd fall on the target, hen she got it right, Nika used the sail cloth to slow her fall and land safely.

Nika just had the time to put the sail away before Zelda followed with her Loftwing, "How about a flight to celebrate?" She suggested an Nika agreed, so Zelda took off while Nika jumped down and called her bird.

They flew around for about fifteen minutes, until something happened. Out of nowhere, a dark hurricane appeared, Nika remembered the dream she had earlier, however the difference is that Zelda got caught in it and got pulled below the cloud barrier, while Nika got thrown off from her Loftwing and fainted.

She had another dream, but this time it was only the light creature, and it was closer than before, "Nika...?" It asked, "I am waiting for you. The time has come for you to awaken. You are vital to a mission of great importance." It said and Nika woke up right after.

Looking around, she saw she was in her room, and Gaepora was looking over her, "Nika! You're awake" He exclaimed, "What happened?" Nika asked, Gaepora looked down and replied "When your Loft wing carried you back, you were limp and unconscious. I feared the worst. Fortunately, you don't appear to have any serious injuries. For that much we can be grateful. But, Nika... Where's Zelda? She was with you, was she not? ...What's happened to my daughter?" He asked.

Nika explained what she remembered up until she passed out, "I see, it was definetly no ordinary storm, and the dreams you said you've been having... It seems too much to be a coincidece..." Gaepora said as he wondered what to do next.

While the thoughts were flowing, Nika saw a figure behind the headmaster, but after she blinked once, it disappeared, Nika rubbed her eyes thinking she must have seen things, "You seem tired Nika, you should rest, after all... Zelda is alive out there... I know it." He said before exiting Nika's room, leaving her to fall asleep.

Night.

Nika was sleeping peacefully, that is until she heard someone sing from outside her room, she went out and saw the being from her dream.
