Welcome to the Ecology of Aqua Laguna, today we're going to talk about the Chroma-Moon Phenomenon, (Yang: Chroma-Moon Phenomenon, say that three times in a row./ Weiss: Seems a little inconvenient.) Commonly known as the Moonlight Effect, (Weiss: Much better./ Nora: I already forgot the previous name.) to give an understanding of this, it's believed that many of the races that now inhabit Aqua Laguna originated on the moon, (Emerald: How are we already into the mythology?/ Ruby: Is it really a myth?/ Winter: Actually that's fair considering there's a class regarding space creatures.) the reason for this is that more than half of the known races have something to do with it, either the moonlight bringing out their potential, or them possessing a Blessed Kindred form.
"So the moon is important, good to know." Blake said, "I mean obviously! Don't you remember when Shakara looked at the moon!?" Ruby reminded, "Oh yeah! That was incredible!" Yang agreed.
Speaking of Blessed Kindred, here's a general breakdown of what they are, (Cinder: Oh good, the left it kind of vague last video.) when born under a certain colored moon, some races are imbued with it's power causing a complete mutation of the individual, what the mutation is depends entirely on the color of the moon, (Ren: So every race has it's own mutation depending on the moon./ Jaune: Not gonna lie, the first one who managed to make the connection must have been a genius.) but the different color doesn't only determine the newborns, but also the already living creatures, (Phyrra: So the Moonlight Effect is basically a period of... What exactly?) now to cover the effects of the colors, I'm going to read you a list of the possible moons, or at least the major ones, to note that when I say major, I mean those blessed by Holy Beings or that can make a Blessed Kindred.
"Did I mishear? Did he say Holy Beings?" Emerald asked, "Let's skim over that okay?" Weiss suggested, "I ran a simulation containing the creatures from the previous video and stronger versions of them, to avoid the world be destroyed there shouldn't be that many Moons that make Blessed Kindreds." Penny informed, "Good to know! If there were too many they might run everything else out of town!" Nora commented.
The Pink Moon, most likely the least dangerous, (Cinder: Not dangerous, okay, but why is it pink?/ Yang: Passionate period?) the Pink Moon fills those who are illuminated by it's light with a desire to breed, (Yang: I was joking!/ Ren: Clearly he isn't./ Emerald: But why breeding? There would be problems with that much reproduction.)fortunately fertility is incredibly suppressed to avoid overpopulation, (Winter: This Shiva Samba as Shakara called her must be really good at what she does if she thought of even such a problem.) but due to it's effects, it's image is often used by new mothers to celebrate the birth of their children.
"Aww that's cute!" Ruby cooed, "Yeah!" Phyrra agreed, "A little morbid if you ask me, a moon that puts people in the mood used as a birth symbol?" Ren simplified.
The Orange Moon, the most important event ever, (Winter: The most important already? I would leave that one for last honestly./ Blake: It must mean that the last one has something particular.) awaited by every single living being on Aqua Laguna, (Yang: Wow, now I'm curious, what could possibly be so important that everything waits for it?/ Ruby: Maybe some kind of power jewels start growing out of the ground!) due to the fact that when it's up in the sky, the land will start to flourish and all plants will start to grow the thing every creature hungers for, (Nora: Oh my goodness! What is-) pumpkins, (Everyone: ...What?) those sweet sweet orange fruit with the bitter peel, (Cinder: A-am I drunk? Cause I don't remember drinking anything./ Penny: You're hearing correctly.) main ingredient in every dish, so delicious, so full of meat and I want one now! (Phyrra: Is he losing his composure?) I don't care if I have to kill someone to get one, (Weiss: This might be getting out of hand./ Emerald: You think?) I WANT ONE NO- ;Technical Difficulties; (Ren: That just happened...) Before I go pumpkin crazy again, let's move along.
"So the lesson is..." Ruby started unsure of how to continue, "Don't take a pumpkin away from a... Lagunian I think it is?" Yang responded.
The Green Moon, as stated in the Refledur episode, is a symbol of nature, when it shines in the sky, every plant will start to grow fruits, flowers, you name it, (Cinder: Okay, so this is the time for harvest.) this period is considered the greatest thing that can happen due to how much abundance it brings, (Nora: I'll say!/ Penny: Considering that it's called one of the greatest times, the food must be quite a lot.) on a second even more important note, it's also the Moonlight blessed by the Knight of Salvation, Abundance, (Jaune: ...I'm sorry what!?/ Winter: The Knight of Salvation, Abundance...) also knows as Miriada, (Weiss: How does he know that!?) sometmes if you're lucky you might hear her chanting her vows to the Green Moon, (Blake: This feels very convoluted.../ Yang: I'd say it's abundantly convoluted./ Ruby: You were just waiting fo the opportunity weren't you?/ Yang: Yup!) it goes: "Oh moon you who shine so bright, let your green light get rid of this plight, let everything regrow, so people may face a time yet unknown.", I still can't believe she was willing to share it with me.
"I.. What?" Weiss questioned, "Does this Miriada just... Go around? Like it's no big deal?" Phyrra asked, "That would make sense." Blake responded.
The Purple Moon, this is the moon that opposes the Green Moon, (Ren: Does that mean everything rots?/ Jaune: Great...) everything that is illuminated by it's light rots, but that only applies to plants, (Weiss: Thank God I was worried for a moment there.) if an animal gets illuminated by it, they'll be able to eat the rotten food, (Nora: If it's only those who get illuminated then some are still screwed though!/ Emerald: I think that's the point.) it still tastes awful, luckily once the Purple Moon passes, everything turns back to normal and the rotten food rejuvenates, (Yang: Wait, so the Moonlights are literally just passing by? Like, the moment the moon turns back to normal it all just goes away?/ Penny: It does feel like some kind of cop out.) and like it's green variant it's also blessed by someone, The Horseman of the Apocalypse, Famine, (Weiss: That makes sense.) otherwise known as Puria, (Weiss: And this makes way less sense./ Winter: Are they celebrities that everyone just knows them?) she also has a vow: "Let your purple light shine, decimate everything alive, and at sunrise when everyone wakes, make them wish it was all fake.", (Phyrra: That's not creepy at all...) You know, I'll just come out and say it, I know all of the blessed moons vows.
"Yeah he might as well say it." Ren nodded, "Why are there vows though? Is it an obligation?" Blake asked.
The Red Moon, in it's period you an be certain that things will go sour for just about everyone, (Cinder: How can it possibly be worse than the purple moon?/ Nora: Maybe it's blessed by Death!) peaceful races become aggressive, aggressive races become bloodthirsty and so on, (Jaune: So everything just becomes a murder machine, amazing...) and it's also one of the Blessed Moons, blessed by the Horseman of the Apocalypse, War, (Nora: Not Death?/ Penny: That's really concerning considering the implications.) commonly known as Fardie, now, she wasn't as generous as the others when it came to sharing her vow, (Ruby: *Laughs.* With how cooperative everyone else was, it would have been weird if all were!) thankfully, her counterpart, Peace knew it by heart: (Winter: Way to sell out your co-worker...) "Be very very afraid, feel your flesh be flayed, fight till you can no more and fill the ground with gore."
Everyone's eyes widened at how much darker this was compared to the rest, "Fill the ground with gore? Why?" Phyrra asked in a strained tone, "I know it's war, but my God..." Emerald said in disgust.
The White Moon, one of the most important events on Aqua Laguna, (Yang: Wait, isn't the moon always white?/ Blake: Whiter? Maybe...?) the reason as to why death isn't the final goodbye, everywhere this white light shines, the spirits of the dead will be allowed to return for as long as it lasts, (Everyone: *Jaws dropped and speechless.*) and as you may have guessed this moon is blessed by the Kight of Salvation, Life, (Jaune: I would have never guessed!/ Penny: It was quite obvious actually./ Winter: We need to teach you what sarcasm is.) commonly known as Pandora, (Ruby: Pandora!?/ Blake: That little furry critter is life!?) her vow being: "Let your soul be reborn, feel your spirit run along, rise from your grave, but still, you must behave." (Weiss: Well if it brings back souls like father then yes, behaving is important.) This might come as a surprise, but Life is about as savage as Death.
"We don't really have a line of comparison then." Ren noted, "They're probably gonna talk about Death's moon next." Emerald rationalized.
The Black Moon, instead of what you may be thinking, isn't the opposite of the White Moon, (Ren: There can't be an opposite of it./ Ruby: What would an opposite of souls coming to the living world look like./ Blake: Horrible.) what it does is fill everyone it shines on with a murderous rage that can go on for days, (Winter: ...Wait... Even after the Moon turns back to normal...?/ Phyrra: That's... Really not good.) and to no one's surprise, this moon is blessed by the Horseman of the Apocalyspe, Death, (Penny: You don't say./ Weiss: Oh you already learned.) otherwise known as the Princess of the Vortex Kingdom, (Ruby: The what of the what!?/ Cinder: That means that Death is-) Shakara, (Everyone paused for a moment before screaming in panic, after a bit they regained their composures.) and like the others, she also has a vow: "Oh somber blacklight, give everyone the will to fight, make them thirst for blood and destroy all they behold."
"NO WONDER SHAKARA IS SO NONCHALANT ABOUT DEATH! SHE IS DEATH!" Yang yelled, "THIS EXPLAINS LITERALLY EVERYTHING!" Weiss yelled next, meanwhile the ones weaker of heart huddled in the corner trying to come to terms with it, but Ruby got an idea, "You think she has any leftover corpses?" She asked and Yang quickly responded "Ruby I swear I'll put a muzzle on you!"
The Blue Moon, of course the opposite of the Red Moon, it pacifies every living creature, (Jaune: Okay, I needed to hear something nice for a change...) even the most aggressive beings will start behaving like puppies, (Winter: That's the aggressive creatures though./ Cinder: Yeah, what about the peaceful ones?) and those that are already peaceful become... Catatonic, (Cinder: ...I wasn't expecting that./ Penny: it makes sense, they're so peaceful that they don't need to move.) I don't know how else to describe it, anyways, blessed by the Knight of Salvation, Peace or Shanti, (Yang: I gotta ask, what are these names?) her vow goes like this: "Feel as your agressive thoughts leave your mind, and let them all be replaced with mine, all of your anger and all of your rage, you're going to sigh as it all fades."
"It's... Good... Just good..." Ren complimented, "After all that it's really calming." Emerald agreed.
The Grey Moon, this one unlike the others appears only during a certain occasions, (Cinder: The Moonlight effect sounds like a thing of godly proportions, and now they tell us it can be triggered./ Ruby: When you put it like that it really does sound weird.) it doesn't affect living creatures, it doesn't create Blessed Kindreds, what it does is signal an event of conquest, even something as small as two animals fighting over territory will trigger this event, (Weiss: Is it like a conqueror's call? It triggers only when a territory gets conquered?) the one blessing this moon is the Horseman of the Apocalypse Conquest, also known as Death's wife and Princess of the Nightmare Kingdom, (Everyone: You gotta be kidding...) Tauira, (Ruby: Why... How...) she does not have a vow because, and I quote: "It's a bunch of bullsh*t and I'm not doing it." (Blake : So they're not necessary./ Emerald: It must be preference.) Which is fair, the vows seem really unnecessary.
Lastly we have the elusive Rainbow Moon, (Penny: How can a moon be elusive?) this one is really weird, no one ever saw it, no one even knows if it exists, (Winter: That's really weird, even compared to the rest.) there are just a few records detailing it's existence, even the one who blesses it is unknown by those who aren't directly working with her, the Knight of Salvation, Freedom, Conquest told me her name, Liria, (Blake: Even she is M I A...) and apparently she doesn't listen to even Shiva Samba so who knows if we'll ever meet her.
"Isn't Shiva Samba God?" Ruby asked, "Freedom must have balls of steel to defy her * Yang complimented.
Now that the moon lesson is over, we can go back to talking about the races, we'll see you in the next episode of the Ecology of Aqua Laguna.
"Well, I guess we should go to the next episode then..." Weiss said as she pressed play.
Meanwhile with Ironwood at the Shakara is Death part.
Silence, total silence... Until: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-" And so on.
